I play on Xbox1, one of the smallest pools, and I won't have a Series X anytime soon. And neither can i just play with those who have gotten the Series X because Microsoft or the devs or both consider them separate platforms. So my tiny pool is slowly draining out, and after the holidays might be quite empty.
Would you feel forced into Crossplay as well?
Your fault for being a console player. If you didn't want your system to become archaic you should have bought a PC.

Specifically when i dont tunnel and find them again but they know theyre 100% safe. I can see past your survivor mindset bro
Still tunneling, you hooked them within 60 seconds.

I can't wait to go up against a competitive Spirit player.
Yeah, this works but you'll mostly be going up against Freddy, Spirit or Deathslinger.
You're going to face the same killers you faced with crossplay. PC players are the ones playing killer in both setting modes.

He has upvoted, so people agree with him. Surv mains are just becoming more and more blatant.

Why?

When you DC you ruin the game for the other 4 players who are playing the game. Just because something happens in the game happens that you personally don't like - such as being camped or your totem gets destroyed, it's part of the game and you commit to playing that game when you ready up in the lobby.
DCing isnt the only way to stop playing you know. In positions where I would normally DC I now afk or suicide on first hook instead.
The DC penalty was a 10/10 solution /s
-
BL is disabled this weekend. I'm only going to be playing killer to farm or afk.

3 gen is the survivor's fault honestly
It's bad for both sides. Just finished a 1 hour+ SWF game where the killer refused to leave the 3 gen. We ended up waiting him out on the opposite side of the map for like 40 min and he eventually afked.

Your fault for tunneling.

You can. If their location is clearly not in the same continent (their profile is usually the biggest tell for this) as the server they're on, and they were laggy, it's very clear they're using a VPN. It's incredibly easy to pin this down.
There's no way of telling exactly where they are (that's how VPNs work). Just because they're profile is different doesn't mean there using a VPN. You'd give false bans if you did that.
They can also have their profile in EU when they're in NA if they wanted to.
-
@SunderMun said:

Yeah, EU server more than half the killers I come across (about two thirds) are using a VPN from all over. (: It's practically unplayable some days lol. They even defined it as cheating but refuse to punish for it.
The devs need to stop being useless on this topic and actually start banning people for using a VPN to cheat, because it's ridiculously common right now. It's not hard to tell, either.
You can't tell if someone is using a VPN (kinda the point of VPNs). Poor connection can also be from other factors. Not possible to ban people for it because of that.
-
It is dedicated servers. But if you can still abuse VPNs as killer I believe. Tried it once a while back just to see how it worked and ended up hitting survivors through pallets when I shouldn't of been able to.
It was janky though (high lag).
-
I use Mori's against SWF. I use keys when I'm in a SWF. even if I don't get hatch, chances are one my friends will.
And it's super rewarding to see the killer pissed off in end game chat have 3 of us escape through hatch.

Yep, it's a benefit for the killer for sure, but don't forget that the survivor is the one choosing when to give or take information here and ppl that equip OoO tend to have an annoying playstyle at best or feed info for their team at worst.
It's a gamble though, they wouldn't bring it if they knew it was a stealth killer.
-
@lagosta said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1770656#Comment_1770656
hmm, OoO is a detriment even for subtle killers. Stealth prevents the aura reading of OoO but the icon still lights up when looking in the killer's direction. A survivor may not now how far you are, but they surely knows the direction you're approaching and can choose to look away and prevent you from seeing their aura or hiding behind gens. Also, since stealth inhibits your terror radius, the survivor still get the icon info if you're close.
Seeing the aura for survivor is advantageous for killer even if the survivor knows your direction.
For instance, if the survivor wants to work on the last gen without being seen, he has to look away. Now it's easy to sneak up on him. If he wants to do the gen and know the direction GF is in, GF will know exactly where he is and know he's on the last gen.
-
Not true, it is just not rewarded in contexts as it should be.
-
Freddy was ruined.
-
Confirmation bias possible here.
-
@batax90 said:
Some survivor disable some killer best example try to play GF when someone use OoO or spine chill never you will stalk someone XD
You do realize survivors running OoO make GF stronger. Survivors can't see stealth auras anymore, so GF can see the survivors but the survivors don't see him. Sure the icon will light up, but this only gives survivors the direction of GF.
-
TRUE
They'll probably close/remove this thread as well.

And matchmaking.

Wait who's using ad hominem? Literally insulting my intelligence. What was the word you used? Oh, right, hypocrite.
You obviously don't know what an ad hominem is then. I've already explained the argument, I see that you want to change the subject since I've proven you wrong.

Lol no. I attacked your [lack of] argument.
"Why are IH in the game? They are too strong."
"Same reason keys are."
That's not an argument. That's a nonsequitur.
Just because you don't see an argument doesn't mean it's not there.
I understand figurative language may be difficult for you so I'll explain. Keys, iri head, ect. are overall unbalanced items in the game. Neither should be in the game. The reason why it head is in the game is the same as the reason why keys are in the game (there is no real good reason).

Lol. "It's rare [in my experience] so let's leave a broken add on in the game."

You guys don't even try to argue in good faith. It's embarrassing.
Says the hypocrite using an ad hominem.
-
I'd rather have 3 survivors on my team with self care than 0 survivors on my team. No, they're not useless. They're less useful.
-
No point in smurfing because you already face yellow ranked killers at red ranks.
-
Same reason why keys are in the game.

Tunneling is not a wise or strong strategy because constant BT saves and DS make it hard to do. That being said you sure as hell can't afford to attempt a 12 hook strategy against good survivors, the gens will be done by the time you reach 6. So most of the time you have to hook one person, hook another, then look for that first person again. It's not anyone's fault other than the devs for forcing Killers to be constantly pressured into making perfect plays or risk losing everything.
If nobody is the obsession it works quite well.
-
No, it's worse.
-
Slugging 4 survivors as Leatherface and then letting them bleed out.
-
I mean it was already mediocre, now it's trash.
I don't really care since I had no plans to use it before the nerf since it was already bad. The need doesn't really change anything imo.
-
New killer does look boring but I'm buying dlc anyways.
-
2 games provides no statistically significant info, the sample size is too small.
There will always be killers that tunnel. Bring DS unbreakable if you hate it.
-
As survivor because you ######### over the rest of your team.
As killer idk, I guess it makes survivors mad because they have to wait in queue again for 10+ min.
-
You can thank crossplay for that. Turning it off won't even help because most PC players don't realize it's an option.
-
@LiunUK said:
i can agree with you that most console players are not the best (this coming from a console player) but you gotta understand that consol is a much more casual platform most people are playing for fun not necessarily to win.
hopefully the mmr system will fix most of the issue as the more hardcore players will be in the upper ranks whilst casual and inexperienced players will stay at the low ranks but we will just have to wait and see.
The matchmaking has never been balanced. This wouldn't be an issue if it was. I don't see why it would suddenly become balanced any time soon.

It's really not. When you have a solo team actually do something successful especially now, it's nice to laugh about it and add eachother. Now that is not possible most of the time. I rarely have a single pc player with me when I solo now which is ridiculous. Feels like I'm playing with bots.
Idk what games you play, but 99% of mine when there are PC players is full of GG ez when survivors win, or calling the killer a camper or trash at the game when they lose.
Chat is fun though, I don't disagree.
-
@siren_sorceress said:
I hate that I cannot socialize with console players. When I solo'd I enjoyed chatting in the pre and post lobbies. Now they are just strangers I'll never communicate with or be able to add to my steam friends list.
Crossplay has added nothing to this game. The queue times are exactly the same. The players are just as bad or worse. So what was the point?
Turning it off is not an option as surv or killer. Queues are endless when you opt out. Overall a pointless change in my experience.
I fail to see how crossplay benefitted anyone's gameplay experience.
Let's be honest though, the only reason people use chat is to flame.

There should be an option to turn off Crossplay. In your options menu. It's been awhile since I've taken a glance at the menu's, it might be under social. It will make queues longer though, since it only pulls from people who also have crossplay turned off.
Yep, makes queue times longer since not all survivor PC players are aware of the option. Nonetheless I'll remember to enable it when playing killer and disable it when playing surv, thanks.

Could just be confirmation bias but if you say so.
After a big enough sample size you can use the normal distribution to make conclusions about the actual population.
-

Plenty of garbage players on both platforms, only difference is now you have something new to blame.
As I've said in the post, I see more bad console players than bad PC players.

I'm a killer main on Xbox.... so don't say all console players are survivor players
Because of more survivors looking for match with not a lot of killer players (that's why)
Even more so over the weekend... but that'll go back to normal 12+/- hours from now
Where did I say all console players are survivor players?
I said few of them are killer players. Nice strawman attempt though.

It just depends on your region.
For example:
Before crossplay killer queues were instant and survivors queues were pretty long but now both queues are pretty fast for me
Only if you're a console players. Enough people played the game on PC before crossplay that adding new players from console didn't impact queue times positively, it only unbalanced them.
But yes, I can see how console players benefited from it, but playing with all the mediocre console players ruins many of my games.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1768934#Comment_1768934
Crossplay was implemented to improve queue times in the first place
It increases them though (for survivor at least). PC players play both killer and survivor a somewhat similar amount. Console players almost all play survivor and very little killer.
This has the effect of raising survivor queue times and decreasing killer queue times. I can now find a killer game almost instantly but it will take sometimes 10+ min to find a survivor lobby.
-
@RaSavage42 said:
There're good console players... Yea it's a little harder with a controller but not like the way you have made it seem
Would you do about it though... rather then disabling Cross-play
Removing crossplay would balance queue times more and solve the issue. Idk if there's another solution.

I was going to yell at you until I read the "(i)" part lol, not all console players are bad. It's just that when you're used to it, mouse and keyboard is better. Console players learned how to play in a different style to pc players. Funny enough, when I play with crossplay off pallets don't go down as fast as people say they do against console players. I think it's the fear of how much better pc players set up is so pallets go down faster.
Percentage wise I'd say console players are worse than PC players. Of course not all are bad.
