I'm a killer main but I play survivor for challenges. As killer I don't care about anything survivors can have against me. SWF, OoO, keys, Teabags and Clicks, any sort of BM. It's never make me mad. As survivor I don't care about camping, tunneling, slugging, incompitent or selfish teammates. It's not nice but it never makes me mad either. I understand and accept all of this things.
But one thing make me hate killer player personaly is a mori after first hook. This is ridiculously scummy. It feels so unfair. Why devs allow this to be in game? Keys doesn't feel so unfair because survivor only can escape when they amost lose or when game almost ended. But first hook mori ends the game right from beginning. How do I suppose to have fun when I lose at the game start? What should I learn from game like this? Don't get downed twice? Be a god tier looper? Hook stages is a valuable resource for whole team. Get rid of one player at 4 gens left and it's unwinnable for survivors, unless killer is potato.
Never thought I will make a rant post because there is no such things in this game that make me feel this helpless. Most killers don't use mori because they want to play a normal match without survivors disconnect or suicide on first hook. And it's not realy healthy for the game to have such things.
Yeah not a killer main. Profile pic and post history proves that much...

Also was said 3 years ago. Would you like a list of changes that have helped killer out since that remark? :P
Removal of ruin, addition of breakable walls that create infinites if you don't break them, putting yellow ranked killers against red ranked survivors (matchmaking), them potentially removing bloodlust soon, undying nerf, ect.

Idkbwhat randos your playing with but most console players ain't like that so that I only sandbag when I'm in a swf bc I'm playing with friends if I'm soloing I play seriously and 9 out of 10 of my matches its the pc players fault not ours so quit blaming us and get over it its a game
Idk why it matters so much to you. I've already fixed the issue by disabling crossplay. People who read my comment and also experience inferior console players ruining their games now know they can disable crossplay.
Not everyone knows that option existed (I only found out recently)

Funny thing is, those are probably the ones crying the most that the game is survivor sided.
but there are players on both sides like this, see 4 man sweat swf possibly with a token brown rank (family shared account I guess?) to screw matchmaking even more than it does on its own.
To be fair, the devs response to killers being underpowered was to go "play another game," implying they had no plans to make killer at the same power level as survivors.

I don't think I've ever seen sophist used as a noun before, so thanks I enjoyed that.
Still I doubt cheating is particularly related to matchmaking at all, games with decent matchmaking suffer from it as well.
The only way to properly use the word is as a noun. I suggest you look up the definition, because you obviously don't know how the word is used or what it means.
But go ahead, continue to strawman me or use incorrect red herrings if you prefer that.

1000 times more exclusive games doesn't mean demon's souls is here.
Not true. Infamous and the last of us are still console exclusive. Just because death stranding and horizon are available on PC does not mean tsushima or days gone is surely to follow.
FYI I'm a pc player myself, so i know what pc has better.
You can play last of Us on PC. PCs can use emulators.
Look up last of Us PC. YouTube vid shows how's it done and notes an improved stability and graphics.
I'm sure infamous can be emulated in a similar manner.

The best PC doesn't have demon's souls.
If you want to use the argument about certain games being exclusive to consoles, there are 1000 times more games exclusive to PC.
Either way, all big console exclusive games also eventually become available on PC, usually after at most a year.

Why do you always call console players plebs?
Because a good PC is better in all regards, besides cost, to a console.

There's already a fix. Disable crossplay. It has the additional benefit of preventing console plebs from being in your games.

Matchmaking is ######### but that's a ridiculous justification
Don't strawman me sophist, that wasn't what I said at all.
If matchmaking was fixed bad players would face other bad players and could win because everyone else is also bad.
Currently bad players often face good players, meaning they won't win unless they cheat.

Well while you are certainly entitled to your opinion that's why I was more interested in solutions not involving removing crossplay. Cause again, I like the varying levels of skill and tactics that you encounter with crossplay. I enjoy facing really tough PC killers with lots of experience as a survivor and wouldn't be able to enjoy that by turning off crossplay.
It's not an opinion, it's a fact that disabling crossplay fixed survivor queue for PC players.
Not everyone likes broken matchmaking like you do. I'd rather be paired with players of a similar skill level than a noob killer that will just get rolled.
-
@AcridPyre said:

This still involves getting rid of crossplay there bud. I still enjoy getting varying degrees of different survivor styles to team up with. It wasn't exactly like survivor queue was that much better before crossplay anyhow, people still complained and you'd still have occasions where you have a long wait. It happens a little more frequently with cross play because of the swf options opened up by crossplay but that's why I think this would be a good idea so you can have both crossplay and faster queue times. Not to mention their is a difference in skill level between console and pc killers for varying reasons. I like that challenge of going against a killer with 1000s of hours in the game.
It takes 5 seconds to disable. Survivor queue is actually better now when crossplay disabled before they added crossplay in the first place.
Furthermore, console players aren't fun to play with. They use a controller and tend not to be good at the game (I got sandbagged by then often). And you can't interact with them in chat.

-
People wouldn't have to cheat to win if matchmaking wasn't broken.
If matchmaking worked they'd be paired with people of similar skill levels.
-
Just disable crossplay, it's as simple as that. Almost no console players play killer, so the survivor queue is oversaturated.
If you want fast killer queues just re enable crossplay.
Simple.

to report someone forcing you to farm you will HAVE to submit video evidence to prove your point. if you just click the button they can not act without further evidence. so you have to record the match or have it recorded you can then link that information there. but you have to do the SECOND report to do this. some things don't need the second report form what so ever.
And who wants to waste even more time doing that. Not me.

Its not an infinite if the killer has a way to shorten it. You not knowing this is on you and if you want to become a better killer than you need to explore these things and gain the knowledge of when you should break these and when you shouldnt.
If a survivor is looping you around what seems like an infinite loop but theres a breakable wall in the loop, then common sense should tell you "hey i might want to break this so i can catch the survivor"
The devs cant base the game off how brand new survivors play the game or it would be to easy at higher ranks.
Every game you play has a learning curve and the basics of dbd are pretty simple to understand. If your struggling more than you feel you should then try watching some streamers or youtube videos and experiment with what you see.
I remember when i was learning the flashlight, i died so many times just trying to understand the timing and angles. After you try and try you will get better. Just takes time.
It may not be an infinite, but the walls act as pre dropped pallets that create an infinite unless the killer breaks them. Breakable walls only hurt killers, offering them no advantages.

I 100% agree that console killers are at a disadvantage when you compare them to PC killers. I just disagree that crossplay has anything to do with that disadvantage. The only way a console killer would have a disadvantage by turning on crossplay would be if PC survivors have an advantage over console survivors. I don't think this is the case, so therefore I don't see how turning off crossplay would help console killers. In other words, console killers should be at pretty much the same disadvantage because their opponents don't have the same disadvantages they do, regardless of whether or not the killer has turned off crossplay.
Except console playing survivors are generally worse than PC survivors.

@Crowman said:
Besides the fact I doubt this happened. Wasting 40 minutes doing nothing, because you guys refused to do the only objective survivors have due to a misplay on your part is entirely your fault. The game doesn't need more generators, you just need to get better.

Yes and then we have things like the gearhead nerf, the previously stated OoO stance, and even the new killer chapter that the players found a massive issue with 1 hour into playing (lockers).
@JoeyBob Tagging you here as well since both of these posts apply to our conversation. Do I believe I could do a better job balancing? Honestly probably. Now not to say I think it would be amazing, its more because of just how poor it has been that even someone like me can see clear flaws. I would not like to do it alone either since I'm just one view point. Ideally I would put together a group of people in the community who seem to be very knowledgeable, content creator or otherwise, and make that part of the balance "team" as well. I don't understand why BHVR has not done the same or something similar.
Yeah I guess removing double shack window, getting exhaustion during sprinting, ect. we're all terrible choices.

I would hard disagree, the devs don't know the game very well if at all. They believe OoO is fine when its very clear its not and why to anyone who knows the game well.
The devs are probably the last place I'd look for how balanced the game is, and that's honestly kinda sad.
The devs would know more about balancing a game than either of us. Id say they have greater authority on the matter than you do.

With four men on comms it's fkn EASY to break a 3 gen. All jump to a gen simulataniously, which gen should the killer protect then, tell me? As soon as he is facing one, the other two gens get done a bit. Knowing he will not chase you for long works in your favor, too, bc you likely won't get injured and do not have to heal. No killer can keep a three gen against four coordinated survivors forever, the last gen will be done eventually.
He can get 3 downs if you do that.

Ok? Overall survivors had the advantage in the entire tournament from what I heard and understand.

Yes, you keep repeating yourself. Again, the killer is not obligated to leave the area to give you a free generator, but that is exactly what you are saying he should have done. You didn't want to give him a "free down," he doesn't want to give you a free gen. One costs less than the other, and that is the down, because that is not a loss for the entire team and it keeps the killer busy at least for a time. One side had more they could sacrifice than the other side, and that was the survivors. But again, you were all too afraid of the killer. Your transparent attempts to get him away from the gens didn't work. How you guys didn't get so bored that you at least YOLO'd it is beyond me, because at least there's some fun to be had in that even if you do die.
Without seeing the match, no one on the forums can give you an in-depth answer about who did what wrong. At best this was a stalemate, and at worst it was the survivors holding the killer hostage. Again, unless it's a Doc who can literally stop you from doing the gens without downing you but by putting you in Madness tier 3, then you have options, you just didn't like those options. The game doesn't need more gens, it needs more structure and/or a timer so the match can't go on for an hour for no good reason.
Like I said, I'm not preventing the killer from chasing me. But he's preventing me from doing gens.

Well at the highest level of play, tournaments, survivors have the advantage more often than not (to my understanding), like previously stated. Otz even partook in one if you care.
Yes, I know the video. He got more points than they did.
-
@MrPenguin said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1773137#Comment_1773137
Maybe its harder for you but again, in the overall game survivors have the upper hand more often than not. Also doing a quick YT search many more channels have high escape streaks and such and I only see Otz for killer and 1 Scott Jund where he plays Oni. Even saw 70+ escapes.
Otz is the exception not the rule, streamers are not a good indication for overall balance a lot of the time.
The game ought to be balanced at the highest levels of play, not the lower levels of play. MMR will sort everything else out.

Do you watch streaming SWF teams? Just curious.
Because all the SWF teams I watch literally meme around and usually still win more often than not.
A while ago Jendenise and her friends randomly ended up in Monto's lobby. Jendenise and Monto were streaming at the same time so they randomly faced each other.
That's skillful survivors vs a skillful killer.
They ended up destroying Monto without even trying and he was thinking they were stream-snipers.
That's how powerless he felt. They weren't even trying hard and didn't run optimal builds. He played Leatherface, too.
In terms of maximum potential survivors are definitely stronger than killers (maybe except for Nurse and Spirit) but when you play solo people literally don't know what they're doing which is why you die all the time even if you as 1 survivor play well.
They just faxed bad killers. Many SWF smurf.
-
You can't beat any of them atm because they're too strong.

There's some killers he couldn't get that with and I actively watch those videos already. No I don't think 1 streamer who basically lives on the game with the messed up matchmaking we have right now is any good indication of the overall balance of the game when both sides are on a even playing field. There's plenty of survivor players who also did 50 escapes in a row and even more and plenty of streamers who also escape regularly.
It's way harder to escape 50 times in a row. Many survivor main channels have only done it once, if at all.
-

@Yamaoka said:

His 4k streaks are trivial for 1 simple reason: He does them against random survivors who sometimes shouldn't even get matched with him. Last time I watched one of his matches he had green rank survivors and even a brown rank.
If he 4k'd against a team of 4 experienced survivors 50 times in a row then I would immediately demand killer nerfs.
Jendenise and her friends can probably escape 500 times in a row against Otz if they wanted to - while meme-ing around.
Noob3 escaped 50 times in a row as a solo survivor if I remember correctly, too.
So yeah - Kill or escape streaks really mean nothing.
50 games is a big enough sample size to be statistically significant (especially when they're all 4ks). I could use the normal distribution to give a confidence interval of such a player getting a 4k, but I'm too lazy.

Unless the killer is a Doc who keeps putting you in Madness tier 3 while refusing to down or hook you, that is not true. There are multiple survivors left, so one may need to take one for the team while the others attempt to get a gen done. Instead, you want the killer to sacrifice a gen, of which only one is left. If you refuse to touch gens because you're all too afraid of the killer, then you are not even trying.
Oh, we touched them initially, but as soon as he came he wouldn't chase after we left the 3 gen area .

Just because you play killer doesn't mean you can't be biased. I play both sides as well and have been for almost 3 years now, the game is not easier for killers, if anything its tilted in the survivors favor imo.
Look at otzdarvas 50 4k killstreak with non meta killers at red ranks. Killer is obviously too easy right now.
If the above evidence doesn't show that to you, nothing will convince you.

That doesn't really matter, your team refused to work on gens to progress the game, the killer was still doing part of their objective by patrolling and making the correct play not to chase too far from the setup. The game won't come to an end without the gens moving forward so its on the fault of the survivors for both 3 gening themselves and then also being too scared to work on gens after they themselves put them in that situation.
And the killer refused to chase us. Can't do gens if he's camping them.
