I find when regardless if i win or lose there is only ever 3 types of end game chat. Now I always say GG regardless if i win or lose. If i win i will say GG and leave it at that unless somone wants a convo. if i lose I say "GG you guys played so well" then talk about how MMR doesnt work XD.
However regardless of the outcome each end game chat has one of 3 things.
- I say GG and i get nothing in responce - This is absolutely fine
- I say GG and i get GG or GG wp back from the survivors usually resulting in a nice discussion about the game
- i say GG and i get back "So easy", "Trash Killer", or the classic "Go unalive yourself" (changing the word due to censorship
Its really a gamble every single game.

So i'm a killer main but recently I've wanted to try out survivor a bit more. I had a game against a wesker yesterday on eyrie of crows and he was running eruption with Pop. Now i'm not a good survivor. infact im terrible at it, I can't loop very well as im still learning.
I didn't find that erruption was to "OP". Is it annoying, Yeah of course it is, but is it OP, Don't think so. I was playing solo and every time someone got downed erruption activated however it will resulted in us getting to end game and 2 people escaping.
I could see a slight reduction to 20 seconds to the incapacitated but other than that the perk is fairly easy to counter be either letting go of the gen after someone has been injured once or just moving to another gen. There will always be another generator that doesnt have erruption and if a killer is going to spend time going to each and every gen to kick them then the amount of time they waste doing that doesnt really match the time they save by having the perk activate.

I am playing non meta just-for-fun build on Artist. I got 2K btw towards the end of the game. And people says this kinda of ######### and someone else agree on this as well. ######### is wrong with people. It's just a video game. Dude I am not even playing some top tier meta build or something. They are both reported, hopefully they get banned since this is NOT okay.
I put a similar post about this sort of thing before and to be fair i just got ######### on in that forum for asking the question. Bottom line people respond like this because they are worthless in the game and there IRL situation is most likely shite aswell meaning they want to pick on someone to make themself feel better.
You find it from both survivors and killers as there are a lot of sore losers and sore winners out there so no matter what you do in a match regardless if you play fair and nice or play sweating or camp/tunnel the player has most likely already decided before the match began how they are gonna act in end game chat.
I would love to see stricter rules on the end game chat with bans given if you have evidence of the sort of response you got. Anyone who is that toxic doesn't deserve to play the game and should just be out right banned from playing it.
I will say though for every toxic player like that you will find a really nice group of people (i find its usually TTV's that are the nicest for the most part).
I would say if its becoming a regular thing then check profiles pre game if possible and if they are TTV see if they are live and see what temprement they have to if u wanna play against them.

Simple... run Franklin's every game. Franklin's is a base kit perk for me now. Regardless how the match goes you can always take joy in knowing your taking their precious toys away.

You don't have to escape as a survivor, you have to deposit your void energy and then you can be sacrificed.
Well at least that clears that up. Seems lessons were learnt from previous events 🤣

That report is going to the trash, in order for that report to do anything, you would need to record the player and considering Its for being AFK you would have to be the 10th person to report the same player with video evidence.
Well given that I record every single game thats good then :) The report function yeah isnt great on its own but if you have a killer and/or survivor who is blatently AFK and it is reportable why not.

Writing "Yes, I totally agree" wouldn't help either, but I bet you wouldn't take the time to criticise me if I wrote that.
How about I put it a different way. Unless a player is being held hostage in some way, no I don't agree with the OP. I don't want to see where you can just void the whole match because you aren't winning. Like I wrote, "Suck it up and play the bloody match"
i'm not talking about voiding the whole match. The other side would still get the win, still get the BP, still get the pips. It just means if you come against a group of survivors who are destroying you then you could get out of that game that you are having no fun in without penalty. Also "Suck it up and play the bloody match" is nothing like "yeah i totally agree" because normally you would add onto the totally agree part.
Bottom line is if killers have to stay in the match and "deal with it" then stop letting survivors let go on hook and force them to play the match out untill the killer wants to kill them. There are far to many groups of survivors who believe they are entitled to just bully the killer if the killer is having a bad time and these are the games im talking about.
-

Now technically if your gonna just go AFK then it is reportable (as there is a section for that)

That's an interesting point. I wouldn't mind such an option. Or for the killer to be able to open the gate at any point during the trial, to trigger EGC if they want the game to be over.
I have the same kind of gripe with DCs on the killer's side vs survivor side. Killer DC gives survivors immediate win (they all escape), putting a clean end to the game and everyone can queue up again. Whereas one survivor DCing doesn't end the game, but the game is often effectively over : DbD isn't made to be a 3v1. Why should I suffer through an excruciating game with no hope, because one teammate DC'd?
What I would like as a system is for the survivor DC to work in a similar way to the killer DC, but a bit reworked to avoid abusing it. If one survivor DCs, then game ends. Both sides cannot lose pips, items and add-ons are not lost. Survivors don't get the 7k blood points to prevent abusing this DC system in swf (though I don't really see people chaining bans just to gain 7k), but in return don't lose their items/add-ons.
With how often people DC nowadays, maybe there could be a vote before that, whether to go on with the game despite the 3v1 or to leave. If the majority wants to play it out (maybe to try and get a tome challenge out of the way, or a daily, or because they felt the killer was fair and end of match would be interesting), the game can continue. If they'd rather leave, what I described earlier happens. The killer would get to vote as well, that way if they don't want to waste their good add-ons to an easy stomping, they can choose to vote to leave. In case of a tie, the Entity decides (50/50).
That's just a random idea, so don't take it too seriously, but I'm really tired of de-pips when we get stomped after a DC, haha !
I agree. My post wasn't just about killers wanting to be out of the match but also survivors. you brought up a great point where as if a killer does D/C then its game over go next. but if a survivor D/C then you have to struggle on despite knowing your likely already lost the game. There needs to be some form of give up system in place that doesnt incure a penalty but isnt avaliable at the start of a trial.

"it seems incredably unfair that they implemented a way for a survivor to get out of a match early without penalty but not a killer."
then survivors should see killer and player they're facing in the lobby and have option to dodge like killers currently have
I mean we all are for fairness and equality of both roles in dbd, right?
I don't see how these 2 things are the same.
My issue is regarding gameplay and the ability to leave a match if your outplayed. Your issue is you don't wanna play against specific killers.
Yeah as a killer i can dodge based on the survivors granted however the ONLY thing im basing that on is either 3 or 4 of the same item or stupid high prestige. I can't see the perks and as all survivors are identical in the way they play (ignoring the grunts of pain for now as thats being fixed) then a killer won't dodge based on abilities.
On the flip side if a survivor could see which killer they are going against then you would never be able to play nurse, blight, plague or legion ever again as I find survivors hate going against them. For example on the rare occasion I do play survivor I would always be dodging those killers plus doctor.
I get what your saying that if killer can see who they are against then survivors should but that is a completely different issue to what I brought up and has nothing to do with equality and fairness in regards to that.
If you want fairness and equality then we should remove the ability to attempt to escape and it taking you to second stage and remove the ability to just miss skillchecks to ######### on hook. Then survivors are forced to stay in a match like us killers are.

So basically, "if I'm miserable then everyone should be!"?
Trying to unhook yourself can have its advantages. Either an attempt to unhook yourself if nobody is coming or to give the last person a chance at the hatch.
Either way, matches dont take long so just suck it up and finish the game. If youre getting owned by "a really good group of survivors and matchmaking failed you" then it wont take long anyway.
Thats not entirely true though. Because of how toxic majority of the player base is the moment a killer gives up a lot of players see it as an excuse to stop doing gens, go find the killer and just constant flashlight blind them or just teabag infront of them. Very rarely do i have a match where survivors will just do the gens and get out even if im actively swining at the last gen then waiting by the exit gate to open them.
-
The actual window for the endurance effect doesn't last the entire animation. You only get the endurance effect for 0.5 seconds and i believe the animation is longer than that. I think it is working fine because as a killer i'm getting caught out by it from survivors constantly however once a killer knows you have it they will wait that extra half a second to hit you. once you know the timings its very easy to ignore the dead hard as once the animation starts you can basicly activate a lunge attack and your guarenteed to down the survivor.
Obviously this is unless they are using auto dead hard which is becoming ever more popular as its harder to identify these days.

I dont really know how to put this, but Im stuck in a situation that is VERY difficult to get out of.
I recently got a PC and swapped from PS4 to PC (leaving stuff behind obviously), as a result, getting a new account (through Steam) basically has me at bedrock MMR, paired with brand new players that just hide the entire game.
Most matches result in me completing 3-4 generators and dying on first hook by either getting face-camped for running the killer too well (therefore teammates do not try to save me out of fear) or my teammates would rather continue hiding instead of going for the save.
Im stuck in a situations where I do everything yet never escape, and my teammates do nothing and also never escape.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ACDMD85NI69C/screenshot-2848-29.png
In this example, my only decent teammate was the Yui, they lasted pretty long in chase and did generators. My two other teammates hid for the entire match and both were producing constant noise notifications from having 3 AFK crows on them.
Also, I had spectated a match that lasted until the servers closed due to a prolonged time limit... 2 people were hiding from the start of the match FOR THE FULL MATCH TIMER (basically taking the game hostage for the killer as well).
I may be getting this wrong but isn't there cross progression you can activate. Surely if you activate cross progression then your MMR will also move over.
However if it isnt an option trust me survivors don't get any better mid/top MMR. I'm a killer main and i believe my MMR hit the soft cap or is close to it. I constantly see lobbies where you get 1 survivor who knows what their doing and 3 that just have no clue or don't want to play properly.

I always wished that there was a map vote screen after offerings Where maybe killers vote counted as more than 2. Something along those lines as I almost never use map offerings
I agree with this. If no map offerings are put in then after all offerings are showed you vote on 1 of 2 maps. This would at least allow you to have some variety in the game rather than the same 4 maps again and again. On this idea it should never be an option between 2 of the same realm. For example it can't be 2 farm maps or both swamp maps it has to be 2 different maps.

Essentially, you're given a poll where you vote on a couple of different categories - login bonuses, shrine of secrets, maps, exp bonuses - and the most voted options make up the event.
They're pretty great. We had one from 10/3 to 10/10.
The issue is the map vote shouldnt be a thing. I get all the other votes on bonuses and freebies but the maps should remain RNG. Not everyone will want to use twitter (I myself can't stand the platform) and unless they move the vote to in game where its accessable to everyone its not really fair that we are forced to play these maps again and again just because a few people wanted it.
-
why am i still getting just autohaven every match :( Also how long does community choice last for.
Suggestion. instead of choice of maps people want to play (lets face it its always gonna be either really killer or really survivor sided) have a choice of maps people don't wanna play so we lose 3 maps each time (basicly we will never have RPD (both wings) and most likely garden of joy.

How is this balanced? Not only do you drop your item in a chase, but it depletes super ######### fast. There is no way in hell you will get back to it in time to save it. That's also assuming it's not a dark ass map with tall grass and you can find it again, and also assuming that one of your teammates doesn't pick it up. I mean ######### this game is becoming so unfun to play it's insane. How is forcing the survivor to drop an item and then DRAINING THE ITEM while it's on the ground justified? I understand that it's supposed to counter troll squads with flashlight but ######### it's not like the majority of the game flashlight trolls, or even has a big enough squad to flashlight troll. I mean I had a medkit with me but had to loop the killer for a bit to get him off me and then unhook my teammate before he got to struggle hook, and by the time I got back to my fully stacked medkit it was ######### empty. So what am I supposed to do? Let my teammate get to struggle hook? And it's not like this is an uncommon scenario, at least 70% of the games I'm in that has a killer that runs this perk happens almost exactly like this. Or I just get tunneled and lose my item charge anyways. This is a stupid ######### perk and is wayyyy too OP. Items are ######### necessary to make up for slow gen and healing times, especially when you're solo queue and the killer is perked tf out with addons. At the very least don't make the item lose its charge, just have them drop it so they cant use it in a chase, there is no way you can justify emptying the item #########
LMAO this is just a funny post to read. It appears you are super triggered over the loss of your items and no offence but thats just sad.
Now i'm a killer main. I run franklins as base in every build because Items are very OP in this game and franklins just evens the playing field.
Now if survivors can say "remove franklins its to OP it ruins my games" Can us killers say "remove endurance perks they are to OP it ruins my games"? No we can't because its the way of the game and we find a way to play around them. Maybe instead of complaining about a perk that isn't overly used and isnt very powerful you focus your energy on getting better at identifying and playing around franklins.
This sort of posts feels like another one of those posts that is complaining for the sake of complaining.
Chances are you have made this post in responce to losing a really good item at the exit gate because you didnt leave the trial. FYI this is the most satisfying thing in the world when survivors are bming at the exit gate to steal their items just before they leave :)

I would teabag anyways, no matter how slow it is and it would still piss off other players. So this change doesn’t make any sense. Just like the flashlight cooldown.
Actually i don't think it would. Similar to the new flashlight speed its just funny seeing players trying to do it. Having a slower crouch speed would just look funny and wouldnt trigger half as much as it does now.
Also i see your the sort of player who likes to clicky and tbag just to trigger and piss off the killers as you "would teabag anyways". If thats true then it is players like you that forces these sorts of updates im afraid. If not true then ignore previous statement.

I love these forum posts. 90% of the "Flashlight nerf" forum posts are those who like to clicky clicky every match and are upset they can't do that.
I understand the OP's concerns but heres the thing.
1 - complaining about different angle. Well learn the new angle. It really is that simple.
2 - Complaining they can't click to 360 - Not once has this ever worked against me and its such a rare thing to see anyway this will only effect a very small percentage of players
3 - complaints about flashlight battery use. yeah i get it. clicking the flashlight now consumes more battery but it means you will have to learn to use the flashlight for its intended purpose. To "attempt" a flashlight save. The battery usage is no different when getting a save as they haven't change that part so the only reason your battery will go down faster is if your clicking when unneeded (or your trying this 360 spin that don't work)
So yeah I'm a killer main btw and the one thing I hated about flashlights is the obnoxious clicking that survivors tend to do or the macroing 100 clicks a second.
This is a great change to the game and one that was needed for a long time. Survivors will have to actually learn the angles and get good at flashlight saves from now on.
P.S any killer mains out there just run franklins if there are 2+ flashlights. Trust me survivors HATE that XD
-
I love how since the flashlight update people complain about it saying things like "they don't really care its just to stop the toxicity and BMing".
To that i say so what. This update to flashlights both helps with photosensitive players and stops people being genuine dicks with flashlights. Now personally I run franklins in every match so flashlights don't bother me but its just annoying hearing that macroed click of about 100 clicks a second. I welcome the change to flashlights and now we will see who is actually go with flashlights and who is boosted with them as they can't re-adjust.
Most of the players that are complain about the flashlight nurf (Note i said Most not All) is because they can't be toxic with them in game and I think this is an amazing change.
To comment on @legacycolt note about are they gonna put a cooldown on crouching soon I surely hope so. It actually serves no purpose in the game other than to trigger killers and/or other survivors. They could bring this down to the ghostface crouch speed and it would be fine.
-
Your quite right. this all boils down to money but not in the way you think. The reason they arn't able to just give the chapter to them on ps5 is most likely due to lack of license to be able to. Regardless if they are giving the content for free or not its still giving away someone elses property and if they were to do this then they could get in a lot of trouble and most likely get sued.
Also Mandy isn't wrong. Its not like they can't access the content they just can't access it on the PS5. At the end of the day the date for the end of the chapter were given for everyone to see both on social media and in game with a big pop up. I'm usually on the side of the player but in this case I think BHVR are doing whats needed.
Regarding the call for free cells and blood points because he can't play demo/steve/nancy then if they were to do that You would have to lose the chapter access on PS4 as well and that means losing it forever.

You shouldn't be 4K'ing in most of your games. That means that you aren't in the correct MMR bracket. Technically speaking, you should be getting 2K's on average.
Also, there's literally a group of Xbox players who boot me off anytime I load into a lobby with them. Some people are #########.
I completely agree. There shouldn't be a 4k every match and I don't go into a match thinking im gonna get the 4k. When I mentioned me getting 3/4ks a lot it was due to the fact that the matchmaking put me against 3 not so great players and 1 great player. No matter how good 1 person is if the rest of the team arn't as good the killer is gonna have an easy time.
Also doesn't matter if its console or PC players. some people in this game are toxic regardless which is why i have no hate towards either....Unless they are a leon...all leons need to be sacrificed :)
-
See this is where the game fails. If you raise to high they make it next to impossible to go back down to a level you should be. Losing games constantly sounds horrible. just going to a match knowing i have to lose every game to get my MMR down to the bracket I should be.
This is a reason i liked the old match making system. Matched based on ranks not on a number that we can't see or control. At the very least revert everyone's MMR each month by x amount below the cap or have the option to lower it once a month.
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3220897#Comment_3220897
In terms of your actual point, you lower it by losing.
Evidently, you got to that point for a reason. I'd personally recommend you don't ruin other people's games, but I am literally unable to stop you from smurfing.
Yeah i get what your saying that I got to the point im at for a reason but there was a time I was 3/4king every match because I happened to get SWF that had 3 new players and 1 really good player.
I do hope that they re-look at this match making system as honestly if you play even semi casually you will eventually be at the top MMR level without even trying.
Side not @Pulsar I have nothing against console players infact i commend you guys for playing on controller as you have such a disadvantage because how the keybinds work. However I did just complete a game against 4 console players who spam clickied flashlights, Tbagged after every pallet drop and let's not forget the insane tbaging from all of them at the exit gate.
Again nothing against console players just found it funny that i literally just got 4 console players who acted like 5 year olds XD
-
@Pulsar said:
I appreciate the shot at us Console players.
It wasn't a shot at console players at all. It was simply the fact that we can't see console players game time the only number we have to go off is prestige. And as prestige = playtime then its safe to assume that if a console player has 40 - 50 prestige levels they have a ton of hours in the game.
-
I would love to see better moris especially for some of the killers (trapper for example).
However I would hate to see longer mori's. I hate this new change where I'm forced to mori the last survivor as it is just unwanted additional time in the game. As a killer i wanna hook, kill, go next. I don't wanna sit thru a 30 second mori every single game.
yeah mori's are cool but if you see the same thing every single game its gonna get boring
-
I welcome the change to flashlights.
Yeah the whole reason may not be due to photosensitivy but it is at least partially the reason. Removing the overuse of flashlights has been needed for a long time as it takes a really triggering part of the game away.
There was zero reason why any survivor needs to macro flashlights or to spam flashlights if not for BMing.
For those who argue that its a nerf to flashlights then I ask truely how is it a nerf. It doesnt stop anything that the flashlights are intended for (blinding killers, getting rid of hag traps, artist birds and blinding zombies).

Well, countless time we get "swf sweathards" even though we aren't sweathards at all, we just chill and do stupid things. So even if it was super fun game for you, you don't know how was it on the other end. Maybe someone was annoyed by you because was lucky enough to meet you every possible time. Maybe the person was trying to make an archive and failed. Maybe it's their 30d attempt to do that. Maybe it's their 50d game without escape. Maybe you performed not so well but capitalised couple small mistakes and got "undeserved" win.
Like, yeah, the matchmaking was so fair you did 4k. Fair (as far as I know) is if it's close 2k with variations of 1k or 3k. You even was soooo good person you posted a hart emotion for destroyed people. How nice of you to do that and expect other side to "just say gg or say nothing", how was your "gg well played <3" different from "gg ez 4k"? They did mistakes and died, all of them, was it well played really? Honestly? You destroyed survivors with feeling "ah, it's so cool, they aren't sweaty, it's much easier than could be!" and expect what exactly by typing smth like that?
I mean, that's sarcasm but only partly. Because...
>> Why is it whenever you have a good game as killer that the survivors come back with insults like "your trash" or "baby killer" despite you 4king.
Because, having good, not hard, not sweaty 4k for you sometimes (and most times) feels completely unbeatable for survivors. They were sweating their asses (and you didn't even notice) and achieved nothing.
And
>> Now sure. if a survivor or killer purposly went out of there way to make your game literal hell then give them some grief post game but 99% of the time its a normal game so if you lose accept it and move on.
99% of the time what you feel normal isn't normal for others. They feel you easy, hard, tryhard, sweat, not-sweat, dumb, cheater, newbie, swf, and so on. Like why do you complain about "get rekt"? It was normal game, just accept you lose and move on. No? Why? Why do you care about that? How hard it is to just type gg and move on?
You can stay in white coat on the table asking people "but that was a good game, why do you pissed off by my gg, it's a game!" and then asking other people "yeah, you destroyed us, why the hell you mock us after game too with your gg ez??" and see no connection between those two questions. But the truth is: people have feelings, those feelings are different, and no matter how game-ish this game is, people love it and love wins and don't like to loose. They are invested and have passion and this fact itself is cool despite all downsides.
And with current balance and hoe different people are it's super hard to have match where both sides feel it balanced and cool. If you really want to reduce toxicity in community (not ask why is it here but make smth), you should think not only about yourself and your personal impressions of the game.
Countless times I was nearly pissed off by the game and sweat killer but their "gosh, guys you were SO hard, I had to sweat myself to compete with you, nice chases Kate btw" get me cooled.
Countless times I had felling it was nice good game, 4k with all gens, cool chases, killer won and it was deserved, and right before "gg killer, you're good, thanks for playing fair" I read "die bastards, EZEZEZEZEZEZEZEZEZ". Why? Well, this game wasn't really good and balanced for them, I suppose. They did well. Did they feel that way either? I guess, not. It's not their fault. I still sent my message. Turned out, our killer is a nice person who can talk in civil way. He said gg after that.
iT's jUsT aGaMe argument doesn't work here, really. Those people for whom "it's just a game" argument works play it 2 hours a day, 3 times a week. They don't have hundreds and thousands hours, and all those people with hundreds and thousands of hours like this game, they want fair games and sometimes they are sad, frustrated or unlucky because of the game and its imperfection.
The moment you accept other people have feelings (and have their rights to feel those feelings no matter how small and unimportant their hobby looks for you) those toxic messages become 1) less toxic by default 2) more understandable. And the moment you get this idea, you 1) find your way to chat with people without frustration, 2) won't have reasons to ask why people are toxic anymore.
Like, yeah, some people are toxic, but don't you really understand how is it work for humans?..
Well i just wanted to find out what goes thru peoples minds when they are toxic just because they lost the game but sure

If you need to recover some faith in survivors, here's our endgame chats yesterday. :)

Players being nice in endgame chat is a thing, it can just be quite rare sometimes :(
Don't get me wrong I also have a fair share of nice interactions post game. Especially with TTV streamers (mostly anyway)

The profanity filter is stupid imo. Have a way to actually report racist players and overly agressive sure but why filter text in a 18+ game.
I mean the filter is out of control. You can't say Deathslinger, moried, teabag, and i believe even GGWP gets filtered these days.
I know a few survivor names are filtered aswell especially the non english names like feng min

I swear to god… it’s just non-stop. Like 70% of my games are Wesker and they ALL either clearly proxy camp the hook or they loose proxy camp by leaving but as soon as the unhook happens they shoot back directly to the hook to either tunnel or get a cheap hit on the rescuer. I take my 4% chances on all of these games. It’s just no fun.
So much to unpack here.
Firstly you are assuming that ALL wesker players are "proxy camping". This is a bold statement putting all players who play wesker into the same catagory.
Secondly "Proxy Camping" is another word for smart gameplay. 9 times out of 10 the reason the killer is keeping near ish a hook is because they have no idea where anyone else is. Why leave an area you know survivors have to go just to risk finding no one.
this style of gameplay is absolutly fair for the killer to do and its something I will do if i have no information on where anyone is. Considering a lot of killers still use BBQ then if they get no info on BBQ the survivors must be nearby. This isnt camping this is hunting.
Lastly your use of "Loose Proxy Camping" just because a killer returns to a hook is so funny. I understand that the survivor handbook sais "Thou shall not return to the hook untill someone else is hooked" but you are expecting killers to ignore information given to them just so you can get healed and do gens? Yeah sure.
If you are taking your 4% chance every game a killer is on the side of the map as the hook then the killer isnt the issue in these matches. The issue is you as your purposly ending the game on hook because your salty you got hooked. This ruins the game for the rest of the survivors.
My advise is to take a step back and really think about the games you play. Yes Camping and Tunneling is an issue as some killers take it to far but on the other side of that Camping and Tunneling (And slugging in some situations) is the smartest play for the killer to make so they don't throw the entire game.
-
What i dont understand is why stop all types of slugging.
Yeah i get that its boring to be slugged on the ground for 2 minutes but if your team isnt picking you up is that really the killers fault?
As a killer what I do if i need to get a bit more pressure is down an already hooked survivor then go after the unhooker leaving the other slugged. This forces a survivor to not do gens whilst they pick them up so i know only 1 person could be doing gens. Its a very valid and good stratagy to apply pressure.
With this new update killers can't apply pressure thru downs and effectivly behaviour are saying "if you down someone you better hook them". This means If i down someone who has just been unhooked im being forced to tunnel them unless i want to make that down worth nothing.
Side note I don't and would never hardcore slug or tunnel. I play the game for fun but if the survivors are sweating the game out (which is fine if thats how they want to play) then i will turn on the sweat and tunnel/camp/slug all i need to to secure the kills.

It's very short sighted. Removing dc penalty will result in 90% of games being ruined. Every game will have 1 of the 5 players rage quit in the first 1-2 mins over anything. No one will commit to stay in a game the moment it looks like they might lose. They'll just bail and jump to the next game. Spooky doesn't seem to realize how self destructive this would be. He would never have good matches to stream because they would all have a dc in them from someone.
Better solution is to expand the streamer program so they can dc without penalty. Alternative is they just stop live streaming and only upload recorded matches. As he admits, majority is stream snipers. Without the live streamers, the obvious cheater would be bored and go to other games.
Whilst I do agree that removing DC penalties for everyone is a bad idea allowing streams who apply for it have no DC penalty would be fine. Last time this topic came up in regarding to streamers having no DC penalties resulted in so many people moaning "Thats unfair that only they should get no DC penalty".
bottom line is Cheaters target streamers. for general players like use we are very unlikely to even see a cheater. I have never been in a match against a cheater unless its a subtle cheater which i couldnt care less about.
However
What I don't agree with is your statement saying that they should just upload games and not live stream it. Live streaming is their full time job. Yes most streamers (not all) also upload to youtube but majority of their revenue comes from live streaming on twitch. I think its unfair to just outrite say "well don't stream the games and just upload them".
Streamers shouldn't have to stop doing what they love just because a select group of kids decide they want to ruin it. Behavior needs to address this and address it NOW or they are going to find that all streamers are going to use their influence in the community to stop people playing which will have a massive impact on the game.

This hasn't worked since I believe they implemented Dedicated Servers. It's been kaputt for a while
I sware i was watching Otzdava last week and he was able to find a cheaters profile using it but maybe he used a different way.
Its sad because behaviour making this streamer mode only helps the cheaters beacuse they can't be reported as easily because no profile to report. And yeah i know you "could" do an in game report but we all know that the in game report is pointless no matter what the devs say lol. I can't imagine they sit and read hundreds of in game reports every hour lol

A self respecting killer would never tunnel even if the last 2 survivors are running to the exit gate and the unhooked one is in range to be downed
You should let them Live! they deserve to escape more than you killing them from tunneling - survivor 8000 hours playing Nea
You had me untill you said your an 8k survivor. of course you don't expect killers to ever tunnel you and of course you think you deserve to escape in EGC. This is unfortunately the issue with a lot of survivor mains who expect killers to play they way they want to not the way killers want to play.

I actually agree with the OP on this one.
BHVR nerfed DS and made OTR not work in Endgame because they wanted to eliminate "free" escapes. These were far from free because a survivor actually had to fill a perk slot with DS and after getting unhooked had to make it close enough to the gate to be out guaranteed. This necessitated someone else to fill a perk slot with BT.
After 6.2.0 we'll see "freer" escapes than before. If the gate is open and not far from the hook and 2 or 3 survivors rush the hook against any killer except Bubba they can all handily get out without having to fill a perk slot. The 10% speed boost virtually guarantees that the team can bodyblock for the unhooked.
They've made it so that if all 4 survivors make it to EGC they can almost always all escape and the killer can't secure even 1 kill.
How will (bad) killers respond to this? They will run more slowdowns, camp and tunnel earlier in the game. Oh joy, how fun!
This was exactly my point. And with the increase in base kit BT going to 10 seconds along with 10% increase in speed it effectively means that every single survivor gets old BT for free with an increased haste effect to go with it. Had nothing against the 5 seconds (except in end game hence this post) but with the increase to 10 seconds thats only 2 seconds short of the perk BT it just allows so many free escapes.

Unless you hook them right next to an open gate it's not that bad. I just had a game like that today. I put someone on hook and I left to check the exits. Come back to see the survivor I hooded getting rescued. I chased them and counted to five. On the hook they went again.
i guess thats the issue. Sometimes you have no choice but to hook near a gate especially if the team is working well together. At that point i count to 5 and they are either out of the game or so close to the exit gate that downing them puts them over the edge.

I hear what you're saying. My view is that if you have someone on the hook during EGC, then keeping in the area is the better idea, since it's the only thing remaining for survivors to do, other than pleb around the Exit Gate, (or, god forbid, actually leave!).
There are exceptions, and of course some you win and some you don't. But if those kills are important, then enticing survivors into the last, great rescue attempt is the way to go.
Camping is dull, I agree. As survivor, we got a 4 escape result from an insidious camper due to some clever plays today, so it doesn't always pay off, but at the end it may be the only sensible thing left to do, if kills are a priority.
Survivors actually leave when the gates are opened? Please teach me how to make this happen lol.
But on topic i see what your saying. I tend to stay in the area regardless in EGC but short of face camping your not gonna secure a kill if the survivors have even half a brain (i know some of them really don't have even that)
I think the real issue isn't with any base kit perks, isnt to do with tunneling or camping its the fact that EGC in its self is just a broken/boring mechanic and needs really looking at.

It's strong if hook is close to exit gate but most of the times you can hit unhooker and hook trade, if whole team is here bodyblocking just take the L honestly who cares, it's not that important
Agreed that if you hook mid map the BT doesnt come into play. but on mid/small maps 9 times out of 10 the only hooks you have are closer to one of the 2 exit gates. At this point it might aswell say if u get unhook instant escape because you're not gonna catch the one on the hook if the gates are 99ed.

It's not being narrow minded, it's being mindful of how unbalanced that playstyle is.
Especially in an era where gens are slower, you don't have a long cooldown after hitting someone and there is an array of perks to choose from to slow the game down.
The problem is players like you want to have their cake and eat it too. You guys were so happy that they buffed killers that you said "Nice! Now I can Tunnel even better!" <---- THAT is the problem.
So I digress, 5 seconds BT is what you are complaining about? Spare me. 🙄
"The problem is players like you want to have their cake and eat it too. You guys were so happy that they buffed killers that you said "Nice! Now I can Tunnel even better!" <---- THAT is the problem."
Players like me? You don't know my playstyle. you don't know me. Just because ive made a post looking for actual feedback not just hate filled posts about anti tunneling doesnt mean i tunnel every game.
When any buffs to killers come out the last thing im thinking of is "oh yey i get to tunnel harder" My build hasn't changed in well over a year and my build activly promotes no camping and no tunneling (although since BBQ nerf it doesnt promote no tunneling now).
This will be my last responce to you as you clearly don't care about an actual responce and are just here to say "dont tunnel, omg can't believe you comlaining about 5 seconds BT".
Not complaining about the 5 seconds BT overall just in end game situations.

So camp in the endgame then. Nothing's stopping you other than it being boring.
So basicly either I don't camp end game and throw the game or i do camp, it be boring AND i get called out as a camper in end game chat?

It doesn't matter if it's at endgame or not. 5 seconds means nothing and it is really up to Hook placement RNG AND your friends taking a hit, at that point if a survivor can even make it past the gate.
No I don't think every killer tunnels. Just the ones who complain about 5 seconds BT AND admit that they tunnel.

Your words, not mine.
You have a very narrow view on tunneling don't you.
You do realize that this is sometimes the best strategy especially when gens are flying and you need the advantage.
But i guess being a survivor main you just expect killers to stick to your hand book and throw the game just so they dont tunnel.
I try to stay resonable and have reasoned discussions but there is always someone who comments "dont tunnel 4head" without even considering the other side.

DS and OTR deactivate in the endgame. If you want kills in the endgame try to spread the hooks around instead of focusing on one person during the early and midgame and go for the unhooker instead.
Thing is as i said in my last responce unless your gonna camp at end game it doesnt matter if all 3 other survivors are on death hook by time u get back to the hook they are either long gone or the one hit you get on the rescuer allows them to escape.
Maybe i will just do what all survivors expect me to do and instead of playing fair every match just hard tunnel survivors. It seems to be the direction the game is going anyway might aswell join the band waggon lol

@Marc_go_solo said:
I don't. Try changing the endgame tactic - when a rescuer comes, target them. Hit them once, they unhook the hooked, then take them again and get the new guy on the hook. Chances are there may be some hook trading, but then the remaining survivors have to do another rescue attempt, or they escape and you still get your kill.
Especially now DS deactivates in the endgame, and also OTR cancels endgame, it's really not a major issue at all. Even the extended BT we'll get at the next chapter won't protect the rescuer.
Honestly this is what I try to do. I'm not one to always tunnel unless the need arises and i will always go after the rescuer (unless the one on the hook runs at me with endurance and if thats the case i will tunnel them even at 5 gens because they basicly asked to be hit and chased)>
the issue is unless you commit to camping at end game (which is very boring so i barely do it) I usually get back to the hook just after they have been rescued. This results in 1 hit on the rescuer then they both escape the exit gate.
Not saying this always happens but unless you wanna Camp at end game to ensure hook trades you might aswell just stand in a corner and let the game end (well untill the survivors have finished teabagging and waiting for you to watch them leave :) )

@dictep said:
And camping and tunneling at egc is not broken?
Never said it wasn't but I don't believe any survivor should be basicly immortal off the hook. If your team mates are there they can body block to get a legit escape not a free escape thanks to base kit BT.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Absolutely not.
I can’t believe you actually think 5 seconds BT is that crucial to your unlimited tunneling
skillsplaystyles.Well this was exactly the response i was expecting. I'm not talking about during the match. The 5 seconds is fine during the match (although doubling this is a bit extreame just to counter a legit play style).
I'm talking about in end game when you hook a survivor they get unhooked and you have 0 chance of ever downing them.
This has nothing to do with "unlimited tunneling skills playstyle" and you just assuming that shows how narrow minded you are (clearly a survivor main who thinks every killer tunnels)
As i said before tunneling a survivor in end game is a very legit strategy and i don't know why us killers who don't hardcore tunnel are being punished in end game by having survivors immortal off the hook.

As interesting as your figures are it in no way shows any real data.
There are so many things that could mean that either killers or survivors have a harder time in a match.
For example:
What map did you play. Killers will find it easier to win on maps like dead dog (in my experience) than a map like The Game (as its pallet drop simulator)
were some matches containing more console players than PC players - This has a huge effect on the game as console players tend to have a harder time due to the limited amount of buttons they have on a controller (The classic healing instead of dropping a pallet issue)
It would be really interesting to see some real data on the killrates under strict conditions to ensure there was no swing in either killer or survivors favor but it would require a lot of work to do.
