Maybe not a burn, but rather being able to see her outline during phasing if you catch her in the beam? Gives you knowledge, doesn't ruin the power.
Yeah I was just thinking that while reading the other thread. So you could do a quick little spinny and reveal her aura but she still wouldn't see you or the light while phasing.

Ruin is good training for getting down your greats. Newbs should just use it as an opportunity to git gud beings it's going go take forever otherwise. You screw it up and you get to work on your chase skills.

Going around stabbing people as Spiderman would be a real hoot. I mean in the game ofcourse.
-
Yeah it kept happening to me the other day too. I'd have a string of games with decent people and decide to slap on a BPS and.... it's a slugging Nurse with addons. Stuff like that happened almost every time until I ran out.

So basicly being obsessed with someone as the killer is griefing now? I agree with constant "mori spam", blocking in the corner one person etc. But devs can't force anyone to like a particular player. If someone is holding a grudge against other players should it be bannable? The killer is not breaking any rules in the game as slugging is not bannable.
I'd imagine if you're going out of your way to make every match against a single person as ######### and boring as possible it would fall under that category. I'd personally prefer to get mori spammed in a single game then be targeted first thing every time I play against the same person and left to bleed out.
-
I think targeting the same person every time you see them in a game and letting them bleed out could be considered griefing but idk for sure. Maybe just try apologizing for whatever awful thing you actually did to him next time and maybe he'll move on.

Pleasing the emblem gods and getting the PIP. I've had many 4Ks and escapes that really didn't feel rewarding. If I double PIP AKA the pip pip hooray, then I was getting busy no doubt. Mainly with some of the killers you'll sometimes pull off the objective by the hair of your chinny chin chin and the effort involved doesn't really reflect but when it does you feel like you earned it.
-
You're always flipping a coin when you're mind gaming. If you play enough killer you get used to not seeing your opponent a lot of the time while you're doing it with your limited view.
-
I probably watched the original more than any other movie growing up and I didn't mind the the Rob Zombie version. The original is the real Myers in my sick psychotic mind but I was able to enjoy the Zombie one in an alternate universe comic booky sort of way. It kind of fit the bill in that way for what I was hoping for when it came out, which was a different take and not something trying to replace the original. I think a lot of people just can't seperate the two and let them live in their own world. I feel like it would have gotten a lot more praise if it were a new killer with a new aesthetic and the rest of the characters were renamed. His Texas Chainsaw remakes are kind of proof of that.
The 2018 one I thought was a nice return to form and did a good job of capturing the vibe while upping the brutality for the modern audience. There were a few little silly parts I would probably nip if I could make my own cut but I was still pumped overall while watching it.
The P3 knife is the only thing I use on Mikey..

If Killers get addons that increase movement speed, insta-down, extra blinks, reduce cooldown on powers, and other broken effects, then a toolbox shaving off a few seconds from your repair time is positively benign.
Might as well remove all add-ons from the game if you think Toolbox is broken.
Faster sacrifice on hook speed? Seriously? Insta-downs are a much bigger issue than any kind of nonsense hook speed increase.
It depends on the killer. Many aren't worth using without addons. With killers I think it's more about using them to fit your playstyle than to push them into OP territory with some exceptions like Nurse.

For me items are mostly for collecting because I rarely bring one in but I'll use a toolbox i looted in game. A couple half competent people with mid tier repair toolboxes can power through gens fast if there's no Ruin or it goes down quick. If two bring one in there's a good chance a third one will be looted. I don't lobby dodge as killer but people doing it to a toolbox squad are more sane than I am probably. Anytime I'm in a lobby with three toolboxes I prepare thee anus for a mori and I recently started slapping them on to even the odds in those cases myself. Instas are annoying, and so are flashlights with people that know how to use them but toolboxes can really sway the odds to the survivors side.

I mean, sure, people buy it for "Its Ash from Evil Dead". But if you never watched the show, this no reason. You need reasons for people to buy something of a franchise, when they are not familiar with it.
With Killers it is different, because new Killers bring variety. But Survivors dont bring Variety, except for their Perks. And if you dont like Bruce Campbell, did not watch Ash vs Evil Dead (or Evil Dead) and dont like the look of the Character, would you buy it when there are only mediocre Perks? Most likely not.
At least people who did not watch the show or do not like Bruce Campbell, will buy the DLC less than before, because it does not have anything for them.
There's no reason to try and appease people that don't like Bruce Campbell. People like that just can't be helped.

I haven't used bubba in a long time. I might have to take him on a ride sometime after I get home and see how I do now that I'm the best killer in the world.

Removing aura reading isn't going change MoM state. The way you use MoM right now is that you bring a medkit with instant heal, you take a protection when a survivor is getting carried to a hook, then you heal yourself. The next time a survivor is brought o a hook, you can now tank 3 hits, so MoM is like sabotage hook perk now. The problem with old MoM is that it had no counter-play because every killer has to hit basic attacks to down survivors, so it was inevitable instant heal for the survivor. In my opinion if they wanted to make it a perk you earn, I'd say change the condition to 2 safehook.
Strong perks are fine, what matters for perks is that they got counter-play. If they lack counter-play, they're often really problematic.
Okay so then the counter would be camping hooks?
-
@MegsAreEvil said:
MoM wasnt even near broken and still it was nerfed to death. So you really complain about survs gettin usefull perks, while they still dont get anything usefull at all?
I never complained about it but it did bring back old memories of being bullied as killer at end game before DS got nerfed. MoM on it's own wasn't a big deal but when everyone has it that's four more hits on top of the Adrenalines, DSs, and DHs and it takes an insane amount of extra hits to down everybody enough times to win. With body blocks end game was pretty much a wrap if multiple people were running MoM.
They should start with getting rid of the aura reveal for it though to see if more people would start using it again. I'm all for more good survivor perks but they shouldn't revolve around an easy second chance. A comparative killer perk to old MoM would be one that let's you instadown after you miss a set number of attacks. I guess like NOED but without counter play.

How does it work? I know people ended up in the burrows twice and the second time was a rescue mission to get one of the kids or some #########. I'm just going from what I remember.

Why would Demogorgon want to hole the survivors instead of hook them?
Are you picturing some kind of super slugging?
IDK to stall time or something in some way. I just know they drag people into their burrows in the show so it's a possibility.

as someone who is the guy who baits the killers for long chases.
i can say that it's a " strategy " to trigger the killer. the more you do it. the more the killer would want to chase and kill you. (and yeah i get facecamped a lot for it)
however. some killers can simply counter it by " controlling their emotions " let's say... and stop chasing after me when they notice that they're wasting a lot of precious time on me.
when i play killer. i attempt to avoid the guy who tries to bait me for chases as much as i can. unless he's offering a free hit. i'll usually take it cuz it'll make him waste 32 secs self caring (probably).
i played in a lot of different swf groups. and i can tell you. in the average 4-man swf group. there's gonna be 2 guys who are good at looping. (one of them will probably bait you for the chase). and 2 guys who are decent/bad at looping.
1st tip: just don't let that teabagging survivor trigger you. leave him if he's making you waste a lot of time.
2nd tip: if the guy who baited you has a flashlight. there's 60% chance that he'll attempt to flashlight save when one of his buds are downed. so be careful. look around you. fake the pick up. do 180s (if there's no walls around). and if you find him. slap him and then go pick up the survivor you downed. if he's stupid. he'll come back and try to save again. which would end up in a free 2nd down. if he's not. just pick that downed survivor up. he probably won't have enough time to flashlight save.
That's fine and everything but do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?
I usually take the bait because it's fun when it doesnt work out for the survivor the way they thought it would. At least half the time it does though so I sometimes play it smart by giving em a quick tea bag back with Ghosty before I continue to hunt down their teammates that aren't expert loopers. The Ghost with the most will rid you of any tea bagging insecurities you once had. Teabagging from one end of the map to the next while looking for people is a great feeling. Even if it's an optimal comm team you can chase them out the exit while pulling some slick ass dance moves that are sure to leave your dignity fully intact.

Yeah I break down and start crying every time someone spams crouch.

I've been noticing at least two toolboxes in a lot of games as well lately. I've also seen more people trying to sabotage hooks but it mostly being done poorly.
-
Walk slowly to the exit to give a new Billy a hit and fall short by a few inches and get one hooked.

Jaws doesn't even have hands to go around stabbing teenage girls with. Horror involves a lot more than slashers guys. Jaws kept at least as many people afraid of the ocean as Psycho made people paranoid to take a shower. If you don't get people invested in the characters the horror elements don't mean a whole lot and you're left with shlock. Halloween spent most of the movie showing teens and kids doing things that teens and kids do and then took the less is more approach to the killings compared to even some of the movies at the time. The Lovecraftian horror of the unknown combined with the real life horrors carried out by the collective under governments and corporations in ST is just as valid as the primal unstoppable beast horror you get with slashers and um... Jaws. It might not be your kind if horror but it's horror none the less.
-
They're usually the best looper on the team but I take the bait anyway and try to get them out of the game as quickly as possible. I can't be having that with any killer but especially with my routine stealth killers.
-
Gen Rush is that exhilarating feeling you get after finishing a gen.
-
@Hoodied said:
That exists!
I have never seen someone do it and even if they did, its just an infinite speed boost without I frames, a good huntress can take them out
I had Dead Hard in ny build and had a crazy speed boost bug over the weekend and if it's the same thing the killer is pretty much SOL.
-
Meh it doesn't phase me after going through the old hatch stand offs and dealing with hiding Henriettas for so long. Survivors still stall time and run out last second to not give you hit points too but I don't play when I don't have a minute to spare so whatever.
-
A Halloween event with old NOED and old DS would be horrifyingly horrible goodness.

It's true, but I like bloodpoints. So i do gens and chase. The killer literally can hit a survivor 3 times and mori him. I played a match yesterday against a nurse with an ebony. They hooked a decent rando. I unhooked him. They immediately tunneled him. By the time he was downed again (and mori'd) we completed the 3rd gen. We finished a fourth and got out with a key. The killer had the gall to complain about the gen rush after the match. Great stuff. Now if the killer actually applied pressure to more than one player maybe it would have been a different story.
I had two toolboxes and a key in my match the other day and they wouldn't stop complaining because I mori'd one of them on what would have been their third hook. It wasn't even a quick down after the second hook. The complaining was after they made their two man hatch escape too. Some people...
-
Idk.. both threads I've seen so far are people talking about people that want to nerf Billy and not actual people that want to nerf Billy. I know it's something noob saibots complain about sometimes but it's not one of the more common survivor complaints.
-
@TheBean said:
I still love how people are complaining about a perk that gives killers a one shot... When you have killers who have a one shot ability built into the power.
You know... Hill Billy goes around the entire match with a one shot.. so does Leatherface.
Yeah with a hell of a lot faster speed boost on Billy but you don't see nearly as much complaining about him. I think it just makes people more salty because they're so close they can taste victory but then they get the taste slapped out of their mouth. It's not over until it's over though and gates are always a good last chance to snowball with or without the expose effect.

If a killer gets crippled by a good team then the killer needs to improve.
Sorry that you think losing to a good team is "bad design"
I like playing him because I don't always get a streak of crazy hard teams but this is something some of the best killer players out there agree with. You can't even utilize his ability at all with some teams because shortly after activating it somebody you can't see will pop you out of it. You're forced into a strictly M1 position and that's a losing battle with efficient teams. You take turns with a few people running around breaking every pallet on the map and before you know it the gens are done. You're forced to play dirty to get maybe one kill but BT and DS will likely make that difficult as well. Even if you get some end game kills you'll probably still depip anyway.
Either people know something a lot if us don't when it comes to playing him at red ranks or they just often get lucky with boosted players in their region. I'm open to the former as a possibility because I don't have as much time to play as other people and people with tons of time as killer could still be wrong about him but I dunno. I don't have a problem with a hard loss. It's just that it seems like he simply isnt equipped to handle teams like that.
The eventual map reworks should solve the problem with all M1 killers hopefully though.
-
I still see a fair amount of them but of course not quite as many beings most people unlocked his teachable perks by now. If he wasn't so loud more people would probably use him. The perks are a separate issue because you can use them on any character. MoM has certainly dropped in popularity.

@Johnny_XMan said:
The thing is as killer you have more control over your own actions. As solo survivor you don’t, you rely on others and put your faith in them that they have half a brain to do something.
Which is why I find SWF balanced. Not because of comms but because I trust them to do the right thing when it comes down to it.
If you play well enough you can still usually get at least a safety PIP even if your team is playing awful. That can mean not making a mistake that gets you downed even once sometimes but with most of the killer roster there isn't much room for error either at high ranks. Both roles can feel pretty hopeless at times.
-
Considering you know how bait threads work I think it's fair to assume you know how annoying people works.

I want a survivor without legs!

A big buff shirtless Myers coming around the corner would be the scariest thing in the game and I'm all about bit.

I'm for it being base just because I'm interested to see how many people still refuse to do totems. More people do them now with the emblem scoring but I still end up getting probably three on average on games that go the duration. The game needs more decent dull totem perks so there's more incentive for people to actually do them. As it is I can usually keep track of where I've cleansed and the spots where I've found broken bones other people have gotten, so it isnt that tough to guess the area where the last one is going to be. I'm for it being base but I really don't think it supplies the incentive needed still.
