The thing with survivors, if they get caught in the first minute, and gets camped, they will 100% depip, Killer on the other hand you are in control of the whole game, as long as you do well you are guaranteed to get a pip regardless

though some weaker killers like Trapper have trouble with emblem cuz their scoring system is just badly designed

Trying to get some screens, but every match i play survivor give up on the hook or DC

You deal with your fair share of survivors doing things that make it pretty hard to pip as well. Camping also isn't what it used to be. Either your team has to say screw saving you or you decide to not use perks that will give you a more than a fair chance to outplay the killer. You can always link up with people on here or elsewhere to play with you if you want to ensure somebody will go for the save.

I was a little shocked when I read the patch update saying it would be easier for survs to level, bringing it closer to par with leveling as killer. Which on its face isn't true but then I remembered people at the highest ranks usually main Billy or Nurse; neither of which I do so it might be true in that case. They are fixing that with individual killer ranks thankfully but I think that isn't coming until later in the year.

  • I took a break and started reading here because I had three out five games end with three-man DC-s. I can't wait until the no heart babies are forced to power through or pay the ultimate price. If any of you are doing this I request that you go watch the Rocky Balboa box set and try to realize how pathetic you are. In the off chance that you manage to get your mind right try now to puke when you think about how disgusting your former self behaved.

  • It's nothing in comparison to how many extra times I have to hit survivors. It's just four less hits assuming I don't haven any of them injured which isn't likely. It's also assuming that the rest of them are going to be stupidly altruistic if I can get one down in time. Like has already been mentioned in this thread it assumes that the perk isn't cleansed, and now you're assuming that they don't have MOM active. Way too much assuming and combining all of that with how little of the game you can even use it for it's not worth the wasted perk slot IMO.

All of the times that I've had my injured survivor get up and take off from dying to escape after gates over the years makes me not feel bad about myself or others getting hit by it. If people are going to cry about it at least offer up one of the survivor second chance perks you'd be willing to get rid of with it. Dead Hard gives you unlimited second chances in 40 second intervals throughout the entire game but I'm sure the ban NOED folks wouldn't want to part ways with the perk so many of them run. Every argument against it is null when you have so many survivor perks that do the same thing on the opposite end.

Fail at doing a secondary objective and potentially losing the game because of it for a 1/60-70 chance?

Else, I don't get what you're trying to imply.

Anway, you just flipped the argument without any reason. Maybe you can't accept the fact that NOED just straight out rewards you for having a bad game?

Many killer mains (including me) despise this perk, btw: it was just the flat out perfect example to show how ranting about how perks should "ethically" work is pointless. They're just bonuses and enhancements.

Read my comment again. You’re talking about the “official” win. This thread is about a win in your eyes.

It's a semantical argument but the only way to truly win is by the official rules of a game. Really the question is what personal goals do you set out to achieve while playing. It's still semantics and I get the intent. I think ber reet just wanted to point out that the game clearly has a defined win because some people like to ignore it. I didn't really pay attention to my PIPs until recently.

I'm a competitive low tier alpha male so I usually play to win. Most people I play against seem to be of the same mind set. Occasionally people TRY to farm with me or encourage me to turn the game into a clown show but those are rare. Once I got to rank 12 this time around practically every PIP has been well earned. I've probably been doing 70% Trapper and then mostly Spirit when I get mad at him but I rarely get a game that doesn't feel competitive. I've only been playing on Fri and Sat with a few exceptions since rank reset but just getting to purple with him has been like playing on insane mode.

Seeking fun seems to be more of a survivor trait because the role leaves a little more leeway to be silly and still succeed. I always thought it was more fun personally, aside from getting tunneled and camped early on but I guess it's that low tier alpha male inside of me (um uh) that loves overcoming the abuse, and therefor I main killer. TO WIN!!!!

  • I'm a multiple personality killer and do a little bit of everything a mentioned already. Still I went the opposite way of most people on average for the early dc games. I killed everyone as fast as possible when in-game dcs were less common to get it over with and we'd all do bad. Now I'll usually be nice if it's early on. A lot of times I can find a way to change up my playstyle to still challenge myself a bit if the last three are decent. I usually don't let them know I'm letting them farm either but I'll take pallet hits and blinds I'd normally avoid.

Still some are ungrateful and I even got threatened with the Dbd cops for letting the last two Get some points last week. One said I was taking the game hostage despite the fact that they were doing gens. Enough of that kind of stuff and then I let my hatred run wild and make everyone suffer as much as possible to remind them of what can be. Eventually that thirst is quenched and repeat.

  • OPs Trapper idea wouldn't be bad. You're usually fighting time tooth and nail with him and the spare traps you desperately need being all the way across the map where nobody is because the gens are completed sucks. If they ever add a secondary mori I'd like to see him slam somebody head first into a trap :) . Or maybe just put a trap on their head.. heh

  • I can see upping the progression for Monstrous a little as it really isn't worth a perk slot as is unless you're screwing around but Nurse's is best left for catching people healing in the basement.

  • Two DCing, then hitting Bruce with Franklins, Meg stealing his key and successfully making the hatch right in front of him but me shutting it right before he can get in. Anytime you can make them direct their hatred towards their teammates instead of you in the post game chat is good. Beating comm teams using every trick they can is always good too.

  • Saw somebody saying there was a graphics update coming but I can't find any proof of it. Anybody know a thing or two about a thing or two?

Factually you'd be wrong, because in most cases (Ranks 5-20) Killers have the upper hand. Suvivors only have the upperhand at the highest ranks, where so few people are that htey keep running into each other over and over. In lower ranks you'll be lucky to see the same guy twice in a month. That's how many more people are in the lower ranks where Killers are definitely enjoying the advantage.

Once I got to around 8 after rank reset it was mostly SWF teams all running the same second chance perks making it pretty difficult having to hit everyone so many extra times. On top of getting blinded, body blocked and having my hooks sabotaged.

I was playing a pretty even amount on both sides for a minute too and I found it a lot easier to pip as a survivor and I'm not even that good as a survivor. Monto said it's definitely easier to rank up as a survivor too in one of his recent videos so I know I'm not just crazy in thinking that, although I am crazy. Getting BP-s is easier as a killer but pipping is easier as a survivor. I think both should be evened out a bit. Although I don't know how that could ever happen without removing SWF from the standard ranking system in some way. Maybe they could get a separate rank for games played in solo and SWF or something but IDK really.

To the person that started their post about things in the killers favor with Yamaoka Estate I just gotta say no. That is worse than the corn maps when you have people playing stealthy. I spend most of the game running through bushes hoping that I can tell that I bumped into somebody. With my boy Trapper I can usually do some damage though. Really maps are situational with killers and perks and can go both ways. The last time I played a team of blendettes they burned an offering for that map and it wasn't so I'd have a good time. Further solidified by the fact that they all DC-ed after I finally got them on their third hook.

  • I used to get stuck in trees as killer but I would just wait it out so people could do their thing. I like to think of myself as a little bit smarter Rocky Balboa.

  • 32 but look younger cuz eye-za man!

  • It would just encourage more people to let their teammates hang instead of saving them to try and finish the objective and make it even harder for the killer to pip because there's no way they could get to it when people are usually hiding right next to it. I've been in plenty of games as is where people probably could have made it to gates but they just hid once the game heated up and waited for everyone else to die. You can already get points pretty easily to pip as a surv so there's really no point. Getting out is just bonus points at the end of the day and really isn't the main goal.

Billy is the only exception, not the rule. They don't make killers like Billy anymore.

Plague was PTB, not actual release, so irrelevant.

"But a good survivor will do a 180 turn the opposite way and avoid his saw."

    Only works on bad Billy's.

"Also the fake pallets helps with loops a lot."

I'm skeptical of how often this will actually work against good survivors.

Not so much good survivors as good survivors do gens and wouldn't be watching him 24/7 but it will probably be close to useless against SWF comm players.

  • I member hearing somewhere that they'll be able to discern between rage quits and people getting dropped here soon enough.

  • I wish I would have read how it worked for the game I played a little bit ago. People were unhooking people instantly during the last gen and then body blocking for the person that unhooked them. Three of the four got me with it but I ended up going Merciless anyway because I got rid of all of their DS-es and MoM-s before gates luckily due to their over confidence in their perks. Gotta give my handy dandy traps their credit as well.

@JESUS_CHRIST That's fine, I get it's a cult classic kinda thing, but was that first movie really enjoyable, like really, really enjoyable, like not fall asleep level enjoyable? I know it was low budget but...the second movie was much much better to me as a first time watcher. Plus now thanks to the 2nd movie, I have the right to send this scene to anyone who asks me what the first 2 evil dead movies were about 😂 (this scene alone was A+):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC_XT-HdBvE

I don't know if I can quantify really really super duper enjoyable or anything but as someone that has watched more horror than anything else it holds a special place in my blackened heart. I rewatched the original trilogy again and they're all sort of in their own lane. The first one is a strait forward horror movie with an 80's horror vibe that I can understand maybe not jiving with if you didn't grow up seeing other movies with a similar cheese to them. The second is a comedy/horror and does both well and probably why it's so many peoples favorite. The third is almost a strait forward comedy in a medieval setting with some horror elements.

I was disappointed when I first saw AoD but after 15 years I found it enjoyable after accepting it as its own sort of thing. I think that's the beauty of the trilogy really. Depending on where you're at mentally the next time you see them you can have a new favorite and even appreciate the one you once didn't even care for. Two was my favorite for a long time but I was more into the first one overall this last time around. The series only strengthened the ED legacy as well IMO.

  • I'd like a killer that hangs survivors by their feet and beats them with a baseball bat. How about a zombie Babe Ruth? He's real slow but if you get caught once it's over and you have to watch him beat you Babe Ruthlessly. Basically an on hook mori. No really I'm just making this up as I go, but beating survivors with a baseball bat while they're hanging upside down would be satisfying. Still there are much better uses of development time.

Um, This is a NOED topic. What are you on about in here?

Must have had multiple tabs open smarty pants. Happens when you've been up close to 30 hours sometimes. What's your excuse for not figuring out why the post may have seemed out of place?

  • For the most part i'm a live and let live guy that knows that it takes all sorts of people to make the world go around but saying Evil Dead didn't age well should be a bannable offense.

@Mochan If they are allowed in the game, they are normal gameplay. Sorry.

I will say though, that is all overkill if they were running all that. I see a key, I bring out Franklin and will force you into an area where finding the key will be next to impossible and force you to drop it there. After that, back to normal gameplay. Honestly though, I start a lobby as a killer, hit ready, go get a drink and run back from the kitchen when I hear the match about to start.

@FireHazard You missed the last survivors gathering. Killers who breath are now toxic. As well as killers who walk, float, or run. Now, if you kinda skip as you move, that is not toxic, that is just adorable.

Yeah I almost always minimize and go watch or read something until I hear the sound cue for the start of the match. I run Franklins regardless on Spirit because it usually comes in handy rather players bring in stuff or grab it out the chests. I've mostly been playing her and Trapper lately but I feel like I need other perks more with him to be effective. It's nice with Spirit because I can pop up on somebody wanting their precious gear back when they think I forgot or didn't notice they had it. It's an easy way to throw a wrench into the game plans of sabo SWF teams too. The tears you can induce will cause biblical levels of flooding when their once way OP tactics turn into the very thing that gets them all killed because they're relying on their tool boxes and flash lights entirely and have to risk getting them back. Owee baby!

  • You people that complain about NOED will be sorry if it ever gets nerfed or removed because many people are going to discover that you can fill that slot with a more useful perk that can be used for the longer duration of the game and can't be removed. I don't run it unless I'm in the mood for tears for this reason but I think it's good that there's always the possibility for survivors to go against it. Just like how there are survivor perks and scoring incentives for the killer to not camp or tunnel; NOED does the same thing on the other end. You don't have to get all of the gens done in under 4 minutes and can actually take a little time to look for bones.

I see a lot of people saying elsewhere that it ruins their fun which is silly to begin with because it's a competitive game and should be challenging... Still though NOED at best might take a bad killer or just someone having a bad game from going negative to MAYBE breaking even. Meanwhile you can pretty easily pip and even double pip without even making it out alive. If you don't want to break bones or choose altruism over reason than just accept that you're helping the killer out a little bit. So many people want their cake and to eat it too.

Really I think a lot of people just need to play more of both roles to understand how things actually work. Being a more often than not successful killer isn't easy as many survs think. Surviving can be hectic too but it's a lot more easy on the ranking end.

Trapper is still a very, very bad Killer, if not the worst

Meh I started using him recently and I've been beating high rank people with him. Sometimes I'm steady trapping and other times it looks like it's going to be a bust, but then I get a chain reaction of people getting trapped. Pipping can be a problem though and of course there are always bad games. Some people run Small Game and that can be a pain but usually if you're smart with your trap placement you'll get people.

Really the most underrated killer is the one the team you're up against is the least prepared to deal with. It's the same way with survivors. People complain about SWF, which no doubt can be a nightmare, but when you don't dodge games and you face one after another you get used to using their strategy against them. Also if you're like me you get a little too stuck in that mode and you end up screwing up 3 games in a row because you fail to adjust your strategy against stealthy survivors after all that mayhem game after game.

I used to do good with Freddy too and I know it was post nerf because I was sad that I didn't get to make the survivors cry. I think it was soon after release that they neutered him anyway. I took a break from the game and never really made it back to using him again though. From the few dailies I used him for it did feel like people were better at strategizing against him then back then.

  • @regnam said:

I just got the achievement, and I basically just had to down a bunch of survivors over and over and let the others get that back up, rinse and repeat. I finished with 3 kills and let the last guy get the hatch. The fact it took so much work for something that should be easier to get is unbelievable.

I came back to retract what I said before because I just got merciless with only 3 dead. I've had the game since the Myers DLC and I guess that goes to show how much I pay attention to rank. The first two gens popped quick too and the sound even overlapped because of how quick they got hopped on at the start. I don't really have many gripes with the game but ranking up should require somewhat equal effort on both survivor and killer if rank is ever going to mean anything.

  • I think you have to hook everyone three times and MAYBE do the other stuff you get points for too, but I'm not for sure. Going +2 is pretty difficult as a killer once you get to around rank 12. Actually just going plus one can take quite a bit of effort in comparison to survivor. I'm a lot less skilled as a survivor and pull off double pips on games that I feel were pretty bad even for me sometimes at around the same rank.
