Why would you pick someone up int he open? Use that opportunity to slug and gain pressure while these survivors are wasted time hovering around you. If they aren’t on gens they are wasted time you can use to chase and down.
So again this is an opportunity for the killer to gain extra pressure but if they misplay they get punished just as the survivors do. It’s perfect risk reward
but...but...slugging is toxic
-
killers should be able to know if they are about to deal with a 4 flashlight bully squad and prep accordingly.

some people say games cant last more than 1 hour

I actually find it a bit jarring that normal attacks and lunges are normalised across killers. Legion and Pig having the same reach as Knight is so weird.
true, nerf pig more

It's the most popular survivor perk again but it's still quite a bit less popular than right before the nerf. It -is- steadily climbing so if this keeps up they may need to look into it again. Don't know how they'd nerf it though.
have the hit apply deepwound if they need to do something with it. but i think its ok as it is currently.
-
i havnt played knight, i just P1 him for his perks lol.
I dont think clown is weak, hes actually one of my better killers and very fun to play. I dont see him as being weak but i do tend to play alot of M1 killers, i dont touch the "strong" killers much.
I play pig, trapper, wraith, gf mostly so im used to the perceptually weaker killers
-
ah then i dont know, i thought you meant a stun on the guard
-
they despawn after hitting gens by default. blast mine wouldnt have any impact on them whether it activates or not.
-
weirds to complain this much about hatch.
devs have stated a hatch escape doesnt count as a win for survs.
clearly if there are 2 gens left and 1 surv the surv isnt gonna get 2 gens powered.
it would also be lame to just insta kill the last surv if there is no hatch just because surv 3 got sacrificed.
Hatch survs its purpose to allow 1 final objective that could allow an escape. if your a killer and got 3k you already won.
Of all things this forum whines about, this is one of the most pathetic topics.
-
good suggestion, ive literally never used that perk because for some reason i thought it was a pretty negligible impact and i would rather bring something bigger into the game but i just discovered how good it is with a few stacks. really helps you keep up with a survivor after a hit. thanks for suggesting it or i probably never would have actually tried it on any killer

The exposed lingers for 30 seconds after you stop carrying the survivor which is why the TR thing is important imo
A nurse can get a hit on a surv in less than 30s and some other killers might be able to as well. Blight probably could but it doesn't work on his m2
ah ok, maybve they reworked it since i last looked at it or i forgot how it worked. i thought it was only for when you were carrying a survivor

If it works on everyone inside your terror radius than in this case size is definitely important
if your carrying someone and you have to hit a survivor to get the effect what benefit is a tr 12 meters out?
-
could just be left over offering in builds they dont change out.

@Witchubtet said:
Starstruck is a good Backpack or Hook Walker perk. If you took away the oppression from it then it will be useless on everyone just to nerf it used on Nurse.
That’s not a good way to nerf perks because it’s op on a single killer. It’s like saying using Spirit Furry on Billy is op because he can build his stacks quickly. It’s not the same for everyone.
Hell Starstruck is useless on Myers because he doesn’t have a big Terror radius (0-12 meters), while on Wesker it’s amazing since his is the biggest in the game (40 meters).
the size of terror radius doesnt matter for starstruck.

I wasn't trying to bait. I'm asking a legit question. I'm a little disappointed that most of this is just the attitude of "cry more" than actually explaining it or helping me understand why people find it fun.
No I don't want a match over in a couple of minutes. I run into plenty of killers that end a game in a matter of seconds from slugs and that's not fun either.
Yes, forcing a 3 gen. There are videos out there of how to do it on killer. I didn't think this was a new concept.
Sometimes a match feels like almost over an hour. In the past 3 days I've had around 30% of my matches be almost an hour (around 55 minutes). You knew what I meant yet still chose the words you did. It's semantics compared to the overall point.
So I'll ask again. Who finds this waste of time fun? This cannot be what people want. Whether it's a 5 minute match or an hour match both are a waste of time, offerings & add-ons.
then you are playing in some alt dimension because games dont last 55 mins much less 30% of them.

OG Haddonfield.
Garden isn't even that bad, it's issues are odd hitboxes on bushes, and a main building that's a bit too dark. Besides that, it has a strong main building, like many other maps. Even Dead Dawg can have near infinites but that's regarded as a fairly balanced map.
they updated the lighting, now its actually playable inside

I'm just going to derank by tunneling a single person every match while the other three do gens and escape. I'll still get some points, if i get a second person with rancor then sure whatever. I'll get less sweaty games and one kill from now on im sick of how stupid this match making is and the devs basically laughing about it and not caring
or just do some meme builds or builds not meant for "winning" per se and jsut try and do some chases. expect to lose and then the losing doesnt matter. i wouldnt try to punish other players by engaging in whats perceived by many people as unfun play as it just reinforces their behavior in their games as you will be further justification to them

I normally wreck bully squads, i know im a high mmr killer, but this ######### lately is just a whole new level of bullshit.
i feel you, killer is a rage inducing nightmare sometimes, but i haven't played killer for a bit or dbd that much recently so my mmr dropped and ive seen a sharp decrease in bully squads. when BM takes place i just go afk and watch youtube or alt tab. i have no problem out lasting them running around being jerks. a few times i just launched another game and played that while i waited for them to finish their little playtime

I just went afk and instead of doing gens i came back to the survivors standing around teabagging and flashlighting me. they just wouldn't leave. i downed them in he gate and they crawlled BACK into the trial and when i tried carrying them back to the gate they flashlight saved, started running again to take dead hard hits an teabagging, went down, and crawled back out again. intentionally holding the game hostage.
moving forward i will lose my camping a single person out or running rancor. at this point i just hate survivors and want their games to go bad. the devs clearly hate killers and don't care about balanced matches or anyone wanting to keep playing. so sick of these matches where all four players are AYRUN level runners and toxic jerks it makes no sense
its mostly the high mmr sweat teams who act like this. just lower mmr and most people keep the bullying to the end gate tbag ritual.

lose some games and get into a less sweaty mmr

There aren’t perks that truly counter camping or tunneling, really because endurance doesn’t stack. You’ve forgotten that killers recover faster from hits (along with having access to perks that recover them even faster), survivors gain less distance from being hit (even with perks like Overcome), and survivors who are being camped can only be reassured once per hook state. If other survivors have paid for that DLC to obtain that perk. And then give up a slot that could go to some other useful perk for that one.
i didnt forget that, it just doesnt negate that there are still counters to the minority of games where actual slugging or camping takes place. it takes 2 mins to camp someone to death. thats alot of gen time to be done. Doesnt make much sense to me to complain about something that can be mostly mitigated AND doesnt happen half as much as this forum pretends it does, unless EU and AS players get completely different types of games than i do in NA

Dead hard is always a pain that the possibility of 3rd hit that should not exist. Especially the first chase is very important (shift from 3 survivors on Gen to 1 survivor).
With the update. DH doesnt work with basekit BT, so its still 2 hits if tunneled (Im talking about tunneling here, not fair play, so the 3rd hit in later hook isnt a thing)
Yes, its smart for killers to go for weak links, which is why the newbie survivors never get to play the game. Back to my point, I hate to rob other's ability to play the game just as others robbing me. I would slug them if they're weak as a tool to buy time from better survivors. And I hate that Last standing mechanic will be a thing that forcing me to hook them.
I didnt say "somehow crossing my path" is tunneling. It happens all the time to me. Im talking about hard tunneling, hook - proxy - unhook - hit -back to hook.
i dont think your being robbed of the ability to play in an elimination game where you failed to play well enough to avoid being eliminated early on even if you dont like the tactic used. its part of the game, to be eliminated and there is not amount of time your "supposed" to last before being eliminated.
I do not believe i am in some other pool of games that no one else on this forum is in, and as such i do not believe people acting like they are being slugged and left for dead or camped or tunneled more than once in 10 games or more with all 3 of those things considered. someone leaving you on the floor bleeding for a few minutes might suck when it happens but is so incredibly rare i dont see why this forum acts like they are being bullied every day at school.
But maybe you somehow get a special set of killers that never come to my hundreds and hundreds of matches ive played
but there are fixes to the problems if you really keep running into these problems.
Slugged? theres a perk for that.
tunneled? theres a perk for that.
camped? theres a perk for that.

Not a lot, and if they do it's not by a lot, it's situational, or has very specific requirements.
like many of the killer perks, and the killer regress perks need to be comparatively stronger than surv gen perks due to 4 to 1.
I dont think you really need 4 gen slowdown builds however (so i am at odds with many killers), not in average mmr. I tend to run 0-1 regress perk and do fine, win rate wise(2k or more)

Here is my pov of situation:
. You dont do something you know for sure that you dont get any reward. The game already lost right there, I dont continue to play the match knowing I will die anyway. The same to Killer afk in the corner knowing they have 0% chance to even get 1K. The funny part is, I dont even care if I die. But its when I die after I thought I "have a chance" to escape. Its about "fail hope", not "hopeless"
. I die to give other a chance for hatch.
. Killer wants kill, I give kill. Its win on both sides
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3279052#Comment_3279052
Without info, any action has their own downside, while Im 60-70% on my Gen.
. I was doing Gen. David on hook. I still do Gen (risk of other also do Gen and ignore David). Dwight unhooked him. So what I do is correct.
. David downed soon later and back on hook. So the choices were:
- Should I keep doing Gen hoping Dwight will take aggro (down side: kill gets a free hook)
- Or I leave my 70% Gen to take hit & hook for David (down side is losing 1min Gen progression I put on because no one knows I was on that Gen)
. I picked 1; Dwight unhooked David but didnt take aggro for him. David died. My Gen & Clau's Gen were done.
Case could be worse if David downed near my Gen or Clau's Gen.
Honestly chase time doesnt matter as much as info. You may have 90sec chase but its near a last hook teammate and they scared, go hiding everytime TR hits in, just because they dont know you're in chase.
As I got into chase (already injured and last hook), killer chased me. 1 tunneled out, 2 teammates also on last hook & 2nd hook. The chase wasnt long, but the fact that because I was the Obsession, 2 teammates knew that Im in chase and they complete the last Gen. 40sec chase were all my teammates needed. If I wasnt the Obsession, the last Gen would not be done.
Im just explaining why sometimes killer tunnels a survivor out at 4-5 Gens, its all about the lack of info Solo have.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3279001#Comment_3279001
I may ask if you care to explain 3-4 hits per hook.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3279064#Comment_3279064
What is wrong with asking killer to hook me?
its pretty simple. each chase will require 2-3 hits if second chance is in play to get a down before hooking. in almost all cases, there will be an unhook before stage 2. then you have 1-3 hits and a chase for another down and then a second trip back to the hook. most games at least 1 if not 2-4 survs will spawn directly on a generator. even if 2 hooks come quickly, if you did not get 1 or 2 gens done by that time, you and or your team have been playing terribly and dont have anything to complain about. And at its most generous, your "tunneled" team mate was a weak link and unable to survive 2 chases early on with a full set of heavy map resources.
Its smart for killers to go for weak links.
and as some one who plays a good amount of killer, most "tunneling" isnt tunneling. They just end up crossing my path as im moving around and im not going to ignore them for them bumbling back into my POV, that would be an unintelligent move.
-
but but....the game is killer sided AND survivor sided at the same time! Nerf and buff all perks!
-
i would ask what your doing wrong that you cant get 1 or 2 gens done by the time a killer chases, hits 3-4x a survivor, picks up and carries to hook.

It is not possible to counter in a solo queue gameplay because you are not able to know the exact moment when the killer is going to down someone. It is different from pain resonance that activates at the end of the animation. Even with aura reading perks, you can't foresee the exact moment when it is going to happen, unless the person tells you. That's the problem. Just try to understand why most part of the dbd community disagrees with you, please.
i am solo que and i do fine. again, there are aura perks and map awareness. multiple maps are open enough you'll probably have eyes on the chase. Somehow im not spending the whole game hindered. Its almost like there are qays to counter /pay attention to whats going on.
You can not like being hindered for 26 seconds, i dont like being hindered for 26 seconds. Just because you dont like it doesnt mean there arent counters or mitigating factors you can implement in your toolkit.
you shouldnt have an expectation of never being hit with a perk at all just cuz you dont like it. I hate flashlight gangs, being blinder for half the game isnt fun. But it can be countered. So can eruption. maybe not 100% of the time but well above 0%. Thats just reality.
-
@ArthurVeloso said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3278672#Comment_3278672
Teabagging does make gens done. Gens are necessary to power the exit gate. Escaping through the exit gate is a win for survivors. That's why 26 seconds without physically doing anything is terrible. Imagine if a killer was unable to attack for 26 seconds? That's basically holding the survivors hostage.
....except you can counter it with perks and game awareness. I get its fun to complain, but its really not the killers fault if you refuse to take advantage of the counters and basic actions to limit its effectiveness.
-
@ArthurVeloso said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3278662#Comment_3278662
Oh, okay! So, let's buff Decisive Strike to be 26 seconds stun, so we can play the same boring game together!
sounds good. or you can just counter that playstyle which really isnt that hard to do even if solo. you may have to switch out a perk or 2 to do so but the game allows for large styles of playstyles and they have ways to counter them.
tho, im not sure why 2 minutes of tbagging at the exit gates isnt a waste of survivor time but a few seconds of the ability to press m1 while you can still get in chases which is usually whats heralded as the fun part of survivor hurts the game so much(something that a simple perk or two and game awareness can have you avoid a solid amount of the time)
-
@ArthurVeloso said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3278056#Comment_3278056
No, eruption must change to an inferior incapacitated duration. There is no point to literally keep players without doing anything for 26 seconds. While I wait for this effect to runs out, I could literally play some chess. If they don't want survivors to do anything for 26 seconds, just delete survivors from the game. There is no point to make them waste their time like this. What would killers would do if they were stunned by a 26 seconds DS? They would just uninstall the game. Why do you think that such a toxic game mechanic should be a reality against survivors? It should not, it is unhealthy and MUST be changed.
I thought holding M1 wasnt fun? now you dont have to for 26 seconds. or run aura perks and if solo you can usually tell when someone will go down.

"yes, because the change here made was in regards to a sexual orientation"
Interestingly enough, gay relationships have more to them than just sex. Reducing gay people's relationships and identity to solely what happens in the bedroom is ploy used all of the time to exclude LGBTQ+ identities from media. Funny how in dicussions about The Nurse's, Felix's or Legion's lore, noone feels the need to bring up that they don't care who wants to "bang" who or make the discussion about sex 🤔
"Its not about sex and yet you wanted a change about specifically that,"
Oop you've just told on yourself here about how you view MLM 🤭 The Nurse having a husband has nothing to do with sex. Frank and Julie being together has nothing do with sex, so why is it that David having a boyfriend evokes sexual connotations to you?
considering the definition of gay is in regards to sexual orientation not romantic attraction and that there are other terms to relate to romantic attraction separate from sexual attraction, i think it speaks for itself.
however if it makes you feel better you can replace it with david wants to marry another man or engage in romantic interactions with another amn if that somehow makes the point being made any different.
I get the impression your just trying to be snarky for the sake of being so and thus feel no reason to engage further with you, as an actual dialogue even if with differing opinions doesnt seem to be what your interested in and thus is a waste of my time.

It's actually getting kind of frustrating that every update criticism is being met with 'people just don't know how to play without DH'. DH was at 75% usage in *high MMR* per the chart released by BHVR. The devs also said only a very small percentage of the player base is actually in high MMR. Looking at the chart, DH was used about 18% of the time in lower MMR, and about 45% in mid-MMR. I personally never used it.
Blaming its nerf for literally everything a survivor does wrong now is frankly getting old, and i suspect that's intentional as a way of dismissing legitimate feedback on the current update. Your comment is also ignoring the basekit chase buffs that killers recieved, which are also helping you win your chases - not just the absence of DH.
50-100% dh usage in my games. So yes, i can tell a change in survivor gameplay when your in a chase with people who do thinsg people with DH do and people without DH dont do.
Whether people want to accept it or not, people who used exclusively or predominately DH in their kits which was an awful large amount of people, the playstyle develops a certain way. you can play differently with DH at your disposal than if you dont have Dh at your disposal. when swaths of people no longer have a perk that allows for that perk oriented playstyle it impacts the games.
Not really sure how thats not obvious.

Its obviously not the only reason lmaooooo but when 50% plus of players in your games run DH and you literally see the way they try and do chases change you know its a factor

"in no part of my posts did i state that other lgbt people did not or could not feel differently."
Yes you did, just not directly. Your comments are full of anti-representation dog whistles that often coincide with anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment AND you immediately jumped to the hypersexualisation of gay men with the "likes to have sex with other men" comment. This game is not about sex, so why is it you immediately associate MLM representation in DbD with what goes on in the bedroom?
Not to mention your comments come across condescending to those of us who value representation in-game. Case and point: "And this is supposed to make lgbt people happy?"
David's lore concerning his boyfriend was not written any differently than that in The Legion or Nurse's tomes. It's not any more or less explicit or anything. David is a gay character, who has been treated EQUALLY in the lore. You're claiming you want equal treatment and then complaining that we've got it.
If you don't like representation in DbD then fine, noone is forcing you to - just don't read it.
What you're saying is not matching your actions here.
Yes you did, just not directly. Your comments are full of anti-representation dog whistles that often coincide with anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment AND you immediately jumped to the hypersexualisation of gay men with the "likes to have sex with other men" comment.
yes, because the change here made was in regards to a sexual orientation, I.E. what a made up character prefers to have sex/romantic encounters with.
This game is not about sex, so why is it you immediately associate MLM representation in DbD with what goes on in the bedroom?
Its not about sex and yet you wanted a change about specifically that, the sexual preferences of a charcter in a game that is not about sex or romance.
i think its goofy that sexual orientation in any manner is relevant in DBD, not just that they added in a gay character/made an existing one gay, its just however that is what is relevant to the topic at hand, not the seperate orientations that were not being discussed.
just as in, you dont have to read my opinions or respond to them, but you are welcome to comment and express your viewpoints on it just like i am. goes both ways.
bd if they wanted to include this in should have just added it in, not done a whole show about doing it. In my personal opinion.

there is a big difference between 0% noise reduction and 75% noise reduction. i would encourage you to compare the two because stating that the 75% percent reduction makes it useless is just ridiculous.
iron will, the ability to not scream in pain loudly simply makes more realistic sense that it wouldnt be active while you are exhasuted and gasping for air.
if you get no value out of a 75% noise reduction, sorry your just not good at using the perk.
this does remind me of a YT video of the perk changes i saw a week or so ago where the guy complained about iron will the same reason you did and said it was useless, but then for a different perk(cant remember the name) where your grunts are 75% Quiter when slugged was praised as a nice addition.

Your entire comment is "representation in DbD doesn't matter to me so here's why it's acually all just shoehorning, forced diversity and pandering."
@GoodBoyKaru presented you with an opportunity to learn about why it may be important to others and instead of actually trying to understand, you just refused to acknowledge that other LGBTQ+ may feel differently and tried to make us feel less than for it.
Not sure why you'd think I'm lying about LGBTQ+ topics being discussed fairly regularly on the forums. It's something that gets brought up semi-regularly, as any regulars around here would tell you. You've only visited the forums 161 times so you'd be forgiven for not knowing that though (although you're welcome to use the search feature to find the countless threads).
"i want to simply be represented equally" yet is writing comments on the forums arguing against that said equal representation???
in no part of my posts did i state that other lgbt people did not or could not feel differently. please dont misrepresent people when you disagree in an attempt to discredit someone else. its rather gross.
"i want to simply be represented equally" yet is writing comments on the forums arguing against that said equal representation???
this statement makes it clear that you(seemingly)
- didnt bother to read in full and attempt to understand a position due to predisposition torwards disagreeing with an opposing view
- intentionally pretend you didnt udnerstand what was being said so you can try and present my viewpoint as ridiculous.
if that is the case, shame on you.
It should be rather clear unless somehow i am unable to communicate this properly, that i am all for representation, but HOW the representation is done matters.
I feel this was very explicitly stated by me and as i have no reason to assume you arent capable of understanding the whole idea that i was stating, i am going to assume that you were intentionally being disengenuous.

straight relationships were already represented in dbd. they had straight relationships represented since August 2016 with the release of The Nurse. what was wrong with wanting queer ones, too?
nothing. we asked for equality, we got equality, and its made most of my friends very happy, including gay, bi, lesbian, trans, non-binary, aro, ace, etc. people, very happy. so yes, it did make queer people happy and gave us equal representation. i dont care if you thought it does or doesnt fit, because they decided to expand the lore to include relationships meaning that queer representation now belongs.
Ok? i dont care that it was done to "balance" out straight characters because it was dumb to even add that in anyways.
It wasnt done to add to the game or gameplay, it was done to pander and to score brownie points.
and ace, trans, pansexual ect arent represented by david other than them happening to be under the same umbrella term of LGBT. those orientations are not actually represented by David.
And your welcome to hold a different point of view, i am not attacking you for it, i am simply expressing my point of view and how I fell the proper way about representation should be.
I am an individual with feelings and insecurities with who i am and how the evironment around me views the parts of myself that i keep hidden, and i like that other environments represent things similar tomyself in positive ways/validating them.
however, i do not like it when it seems the intent wasnt about representation because representation was was relevant to the experience or to ensure that all people had an equal gameplay experience, but was done to score points in an environment where what is being represented has nothing to do with the product.
You can "not care" about my point of view as much or as little as you want, but I am going to still express my opinion because this topic is indeed, opinion based.

Sounds good, doesn't work and it's still stale gameplay and problematic. When the killer is really motivated, then they will go for a perk build that allows them to camp more efficiently or use NOED to make sure, that they will get at least another survivor.
Camping doesn't have really a good counter in the game except that it's kinda boring for everyone involved including the killer.
weird because it does work very well when your not the only one engaging in the counterplay.
- your whole team stops doing gens to dance around a hook with a camping killer and get nothing productive done while killer gets production.
- Dont make stupid plays and be productive at 3x the rate of productivity the killer is doing.
hard choice.

In pu = no discord, how can you tell others that the killer camp?
Especially since camp killers very often use the undetectable perk if motionless, if BHVR wanted to stop the camp he would have already removed the perk, is that the case? no so he encourages the ultra toxic behavior (harassment) of the camp.
you dont need communication like discord to do so. i dont play swf. If I am far from the person getting hooked, i know someone else is closer to them and the responsibility lies with them to attempt the unhook. if i am going for the unhook and the killer is by the hook and my goal is not to hook trade i can either bait into a chase and if sucessful leave the hook and allow someone else to get a safe unhook OR, realise hes going to stay by the hook and go do a gen.
Its not hard.
if your team mates cant understand basic gameplay and counterplay in a situation where the simple counterplay can be extremely punishing to the killer, thats the fault of the survivor not the killer.

Not sure if you play the game but as I said in the title, there's this thing called camping. That is where the killer stays near the hook and you have no choice to either let them die or try and trade. Or killers even get a loud notification so if they are anywhere even remotely close to the hook they can just come back. And if they keep going after the same person and getting them out of the game early it's an easy win. That's what is known as tunneling.
im not sure if you play the game but there is this thing called counterplay, where if a killer is camping, you have both perks to tell you the killer is camping and you and your team mates not being camped can get 3 generators done well before he is camped out and thus punishes camping, where as everyone running right around a hook where a killer is camping can take out a whole team because they made a stupid play and rewarded the camping. thats whats called as "playing dumb"
