  • Good to hear you are actively banning cheaters. THere is ZERO point in playing a video game if someone has to cheat. Because then the game plays itself and a player only cheats themselves out of a video game title they paid for.

  • The discussion of "OLD RUIN" comes up again and again.

Thana and Ruin seam to be the only passive abilities a killer had at slowing down the game.

Ruin - Only viable if the other team didn't somehow magically SPAWN very near the totem.

Thana - Takes care of the match IF players are injured

  • LOL the old way to do this was exactly what was posted before. (A 90s kid here) Put a thin piece of plastic film over the computer monitor. Find your location where you hit, and put a DOT on the sheet of plastic. ;)

  • I'd really like to jump back into the game full-ham and go all-in on an outright gaming spree again. But this game has gridlocked itself with too many rules and everything becoming too "Watered-down". I have a feeling it has to do with Nintendo Switch having this game. I noticed the same with Overwatch as well. Suddenly they get a say in what happens in this game.

I get it. THe money is nice to have. But Nintendo needs to stick with their puppy dogs and kittens style of marketting. While the big boyz play our PC games such as DOOM and other amazing violent video games.

  • Yeah it sounds like a good idea.

  • I try to avoid tunneling if I can, BUT the game pace determines how I respond. I play against 1-4s mainly and generally tunneling occurs because survivors do NOT wait for me to walk away before they pull a Rescue. Which brings up the discussion of NOTHING "coming from the top brass" of the this game to SOLVE anything. Ruining items for players didn't solve ANYTHING.

  • A thought for change is handicap based upon the average rank of the survivors. Since trying to adjust for killers would prove to take more work. and nerfing items, perks and other things hasn't made for a positive impact on the game.

    • Number of generators.
    • Number of pallets.
    • number of open window vaults.
    • Number of hooks.
    • Adjusting ECG
  • Yeah there are ALOT of issues with players in this game.

1 ) If I am working on a generator. I get annoyed by The person that was just removed off of the hook. and ran over to me while I am working. That is a VERY bad player habit.

2 ) If someone IS self caring. Leave them ALONE.

3 ) agreed if someone does pass the killer off onto me. When they full-well knew I was there. The moment I get downed. I pull on the hook to punish them for that.

  • Im not a fan of the door locations with ECG. A person has to push for deductive reasoning on efforts applied to a match.

    • If the team mates are doing poorly. The game will be spent playing at the hooks to get removed from the match first .
    • doing generators. Because even if the rest of the players aren't doing so well. It MIGHT mean an escape should the doors be far enough apart.

Let me sum it up, as someone who plays both sides. As Killer, gens fly and you have to play dirty to stand a chance. Slugging, tunneling, camping. As Survivor, you have the deal with these tactics after waiting in long queues. Both roles have taken a major hit in enjoyment level and this got a lot worse after the Ruin nerf. We are at a crossroads. Are the devs going to fix the game or keep taking it down the same path?

It was fun getting to watch Matheiu play as the hag. I thought he did a really nice job.

  • (controversial RESPONSE - WARNING).

The DC issues were as follows:

    • "Survivor did not like KILLER trapping them in a corner so they could not move.
    • Killer did not like their hex being broke in the first 15 seconds of the match.
    • "Survivor did not like the killer closing the hatch." So they left the match. I had this happen ALOT as killer. Just last week on HAL labs someone did it on me, despite penalty system.
    • Killer did not like survivors "butt dancing" in the exit zone.
    • " Survivor did not like getting struck through a window. So they left the match.
    • Killer did NOT like the team gen rushing.
    • "Survivor could not move out of the area they were in. So they left the match.
    • Killer was looped the whole match. They stopped in the middle of the chase and left.
    • "Survivor felt that their team mates were not even trying.
    • Killer was mad they were 4-teamed with flashlights and could never see again. (bug).
    • Survivor was pulled OFF the hook infront of the killer. so they left the match
    • Killer was mad that a survivor was abusing the infinite sprint-burst glitch
    • Survivor was mad that the killer found them through cheating, which later was BBQ or nurses calling... possibliy.
    • Killer was being sandbagged and couldn't hook survivors.
    • Survivor was going to be mori'd.
    • Killer kept getting palleted.
    • Survivor gave UP and left before they were HOOKED, to PREVENT BBQ used against their other team mate.
    • Killer did not get to use their Mori.
    • Survivor had a killer spawn very close to them.

This is just scratching the surface of what made these issues happen.

  • Cheaters are everywhere. Consoles with Modchips, PC gamers with cheatware. It is a never-ending battle and there isn't much a person can do about it if the game does not have an active mod that observes a match. Im going to bet this game has about 5,000 active matches at any one point in time. I dont think they can spectate that many. :P

My usual red ranks SWF and I played about 8 games yesterday, now...

EVERY GAME, I repeat... EVERY GAME we got to play against a yellow rank...

I don't know if it's a matchmaking new problem (we did get to play against a yellow every now and then, but not this constantly) or high ranks killers are leaving.

It's not fun to escape when facing a killer with this CLEAR disadvantage even when we never bring in toolboxes

    It is cause and effect.

Change the game in a drastic way. players may be unhappy with. Shifts the Q times considerably. In the last 2 weeks. The Q times in this game are so long. I don't want to buy the next DLC now.

  • I miss the old hatch, but can agree stand-offs were too long. 45 minutes was interesting. But the one that made it on youtube where it went several HOURS, was really .. um.. yeah...

Something has to be done though with this new system.

  • I play as a "perkless" killer from time to time. Gives me a challenge.

honestly this made me laugh my arse off. why? because I don't have this and i rarely have issues with my connection and software. I'm sorry you have issues but what I love is that people talk about ALL the innocent "BANS" out there. this is not something that is big if it happens a few times. if it starts happening more I'd look to more reasons why the software crashed and submitted to behavior to look at to see what they can see for those. the next thing you need to do is look to your network connections, because there are a great many things more than their software, your computer and the dedicated servers. If you submit those logs, perhaps they can see hey it is because of X and we can put this to rest finally. Mostly people whine here without submitting logs, not all but most. Lets stop the blame game and start helping each other and behavior out by doing what the END USER is supposed to do.

There really is no reason to be rude to me. honestly.

  • It is an interesting thought. I am GUILTY for doing this. I do the "Butt dance" in the exit zone and YES. it is "unsportsmanlike conduct" in some sense!

I've made the suggestion that players standing in the exit zone for too long should face exposure status. :P Then again. butt dancing. IS FUN.

  • Ive made it a point that the MTBF factor on this software is something to be discussed. I got tons of flak for it. I sill can attest to the fact that we are playing these games on LEAD-FREE soldered motherboards and with RAM sticks that are still from the TERRIBLE batches of chips that FOXXCONN received. So unless your computer is clustered on High Availability and your network has near-ZERO packet loss and you are playing on BONDED NETWORKING. My suggestion is, Dont play the game.

I was really stoked about the new killer coming out and was going to buy him. I love playing hitscan and was onboard. But after this fiasco. IM going to save my pennies until they resolve the penalty system which fits the average consumer-level pc model of SOHO networks and systems. VS what a business can run. ๐Ÿ˜ž

This irritates me so much when there are 2 survivors left and you down one for them to DC and open the hatch instantly. This happens actually quite a bit. Last game I had one down and was looking for hatch and then found the other and her teammate DCed and the hatch was right in front of the living survivor. It's a deliberate cheat and a show of bad sportsmanship.

Regardless, it is the strategy that occurred AFTER the fallout from Hatch closing. Now survivors in the group EXPECT the other person to LET them have the hatch by DC before reaching the hook. I've seen that conversation now coming up in post-game chat. Where players expect a person to take one for the team.

This is sad. I was really stoked about the new killer coming up. I am an extremely good hitscan player and was stoked for this new one. But after this game going the way it is. I won't be purchasing ANY MORE DLC until rules get fixed and other issues. I have zero confidence in this game and the company.

What is the most boring change you think happened in dbd ?

I've witnessed all the patches and updates since the pig DLC

I've seen alot of perk changes and add on changes

but the most funny and ridiculous change I've seen so far in dbd is the new instructions add on change live now in PTB

( you don't get skill checks while repairing with a toolbox) which now lasts for seconds LUL

I just wonder who the f cares about not getting skill checks for few seconds LUL

I mean unless youre smoking or drinking something and dont want to press space bar, you can still set it to mouse 5 or something LMFAO what is this ?? what an idea for an addon OH MA GAWD LUL

I'd tell you. But my post would get flagged by someone for no reason.

  • I had a good laugh.

  • It is debatable and I can see why survivors aren't happy. Slugging a survivor is a necessity to shift the match. Since a person will NOT have time to always hook a player, especially under a De Pip Squad.

  • I have observed the Q times are significantly longer after the changes that occurred from this.

  • Can I safely suggest here without fear of backlash;

that other game companies have taken the approach of removing "post-game chat" because of player behavior?

  • My attorney has advised me to make no statements. ๐Ÿคจ - I'd like to think that this change has certainly brought a bunch of attention to this.

  • 5 minutes wont matter. But if you go look at how much further these penalties go than just a simple 5, 10 15. They go much higher. Go test the system for yourself and see just how far they stack, then come back here and talk about it.

  • Then I am very truly sorry there are people out there that never had enough life experiences to understand this.

Everything from the person that works farms to provide produce to your table, to the person that sits at night sitting next to their pager for EMS, FIRE, ROAD, POLICE, Military, Civil Defense, waiting for YOUR call when disaster strikes at home, in your neighborhood .

Those people play video games at night and in their spare time. While they are the watchmen as you sleep, sound and comfortable at night. Go talk with that person that works the fire station, ask them what they do at night. They aren't just sitting around doing paperwork or watching that old vacuum tube television.

  • 6 is really not too bad. I mean I'd play this game for about 12 hours in a session and say that there are matches that just will NEVER END. Okay. I've had it I am going to unload this here.

I am not saying I am anymore special that anyone else. But there are parents and people that have things that have to happen in life. where they still need a way to walk away from a game without these stacking penalties. and if someone cannot grasp this concept. Than I am truly sorry I hope you never have to work a job like I do, and I hope you never have to be a parent.

THE BIG REASON WHY I HATE THIS BAN and think it is awful

() I in the summertime. I handle things that law enforcement leave to specialists like me to control. I take care of HONEYBEE HAULER accidents. Everything from minor spills at truck stops to the major highway accidents. Mostly my schedule consists of truck stop spills all summer. I left I.T. because lthe economy tanked in 08' here in the States.

I do and I am aware of the DC thing. I used DC, we all did or do. Anyone here that says they didn't abuse the system lies too. Because we all have used DC. But what SHOULD have been done is something within REASON. Not this. Work a job like this, in the public service sector and have a family. Nobody should have to abandon gaming just because of some petty thing.

A free pass on your first 6 disconnects is an awful lot. I don't think I've disconnected from 6 matches in the last year let alone in one day. Especially given the average amount of time people play the game, that could very easily give them a green light to disconnect from every single match they play that day.

If you're unwillingly losing connection to that many matches, that sounds like you've got a pretty serious connection issue. While it's unfortunate, it's on you to make sure that's resolved before playing any online game, since leaving in the middle of a match makes the game worse for the other people in the match.

VERY IMPORTANT HERE - HEY IT IS PEANITS!

6 is actually fairly necessary. given what has been occurring here. In a 12 hour gaming session this game has a "hard crash frequency". I am going to call this a "memory leak". even though there may be something else going on here. I'd like to think it is just me. But it is NOT.

I am playing on a VERY nice computer, infact i have 3 other people in my group that run with me throughout the day that are running nicer machines than I am, from all the various vendors on the market. mixes of SSDs, Data center edition drives...

We have someone here with a rig that spent several grand on just the RAM, alone, in all 8 slots. as well as all the other stuff we wished we could own. this guy works for the wealthiest man in our state, and his IT department built this rig for him and set it up, on the side after work-hours. So I am sure you can agree with me. That the PC has been built to "above par, over-spec settings". Nobody here is playing on WiFi and 3 other of my buds are on a fiber connection.

My connection: I am sitting roughly 1/16th of a mile from one of the LARGEST U.S. data-drops buried and I KNOW I don't have connection issues and when I do. It doesn't sputter. It goes DARK.

ISSUES with this game, embarrassing on livestreamers channels, "WHAT IS THIS GAME?!" because of VERY APPARENT game-crashes.

I have a mix of INTEL and AMD people here that are playing this game. That mix their systems with all sorts of parts. They have the same crash-frequency. They have big spendy pocket-books and experience the near-same crash rates that I do.

    ------

But wait what? yes, this game HARDLOCKS. That means that the program is still running, you see the screen an the system still runs. There are plenty of youtube videos of this occurring. Where people are pressing Ctrl-alt-delete because of a hardlock and the game still counts it as a penalty.

    -------

So what about this still being "6". not only are High School kids playing this game, College students. But ADULTS who are PARENTS. I don't know if anyone here has ever read into what happened in the days of World of Warcraft where parents were CHARGED with "child neglect" because they wouldn't get up from their PC. The same thing makes sense here. You have a large demographic group of players that LOVE YOUR GAME. Celebrate it.

    ---

So if we crunch some numbers here. 6 would STILL sound like it is too low. But I think 6 would work out. Life happens, the world happens. This is NOT a competitive game where money is at stake here.

This really isn't about 6 being an encouragement of ruining the game experience for others. it is about a decent number that gives players 6 chances in a day. To exit the match without a penalty, because the universe doesn't align, and never will. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Lets put this into perspective here. The DC thing does have its purpose. But i've had random game crashes here and there too. WHich if we take look at this. This is clearly a game ENGINE issue. Not a PC issue. Memory dumps happen.

I'd say that I would perhaps lodge a COMPLAINT with the United States Department of Commerce or even the U.S. FTC and consider filing a complaint against UNREAL ENGINE itself. The statement-complaint of " either resolve this or get fined." I would like to see a class action lawsuit go out to UNREAL ENGINE for NOT doing their part and fixing this.

Since we now have a game issue that effects usability of the game. I assume you have paid your fair dues worth of money to play this game and thus a service that should be rendered, Isn't. Especially with defective software. IF they claim that their software IS infact infallible.

Than they should stand by it 100%, since it drastically effects account status. If it CANNOT be ran 100% reliable all of the time and fails to execute such said command codes. Which can lead to account action and penalties. Than it is clear, and evident beyond the reason of a doubt. That the software engine makers should require companies to ADHERE to a standard which meets in the middle.

Okay, we know players leave from time to time. Life happens. But random crashes in inexcusable. I can see this becoming now, a legal case. People can say this is "nonsense". But if someone can file a lawsuit over spilt hot coffee at a famous burger place. They can certainly go AFTER a game engine company. That said. IT just might happen. A nice class Action lawsuit against UNREAL ENGINE.

If this doesn't get resolved in the next 7 to 10 business days. Go ahead and File an FTC complaint, or write a letter/email to Unreal Engine that this must be resolved.

  • I've never played Rocket league lolz.

The community has an underlying issue which put us at this point. In all of my hours of glory on this game, from playing the game on my bud's pc up until I had money to BUY this game. It NEVER use to have this problem up until last year.

There will always be an uptick because of people that play this game and have a FAMILY. My bud plays this game quite a bit, he just started a family and still wants to game late at night after everyone goes to bed. If the kid wakes up and has a nightmare or needs something. He has to be a FATHER first.

Not like some of these people you read where they abandon their children first, over video games.

But regardless to that statement. The leavers in this game are heavy. That's a sign of something and it isn't a game that is being "old". That was the same excuse blizzard used for their shortcomings with World of Warcraft.

The devs need to be doing what the rest of us "old time" early 2000s game hosts had to do and that was LOOKING AT DATA. Very boring, but I generally looked at logs, drank some coffee, talked with people. and then would sift through logs.

I mean I wasn't working for any AAA title company and nothing to brag about on a resume since the company closed (Hey, owners spend money and don't put it back into a business, it closes!),

(with not a trace of it left. Because they didn't want to pay their owed money.) ๐Ÿ˜

I at least got to walk away with a few servers in hand as a "payment" and they left. I lost my investments too. yup..

Needless to say. that startup went UNDER because of cheaters AND the fact that the owners didn't want to do the same thing everyone else does and LOOK THROUGH LOGS. It is very easy to do. it also gets game companies in trouble when they don't. (like this one I was at, failed). everyone wants a nice fancy picture and ignore the problems.

    ------

regardless. My figures here would make sense. It plays into the game we call "LIFE" and factors in some decent figures I use to have that I am just FREELY giving away as some advice, from MY experience at doing this stuff.

  • CORRECTIONS:

    i. "the system would not allow a person that has forfeited the match to spectate after they have left. A new icon would appear with a FLAG instead of a power plug on the icon.

ii. "Have a discussion like CIVIL acting persons".

  • To sum this up. This is more or less a PSA, or a "The more you know" with the whole rainbow star thing flying across the screen. I may sound like a harsh and evil person. But I still do care about people's safety, none the less.

Not every person matched into a game is from the United States, Canada or even North America. Everyone connects from around the world and it only takes ONE person to ruin it for everyone. Nobody wants to hear "SHERIFFS OFFICE GET ON THE GROUND NOW!!" while 20 armed people with Flashbangs blow the door open. Not every department has "bang poles" either, which control the device. So it gets thrown in through a window.

There could be young children in there, it could land in a crib (Which it has occurred) and again. The bureaucracy wont change anything.

  • Its a meaphor FFS. I dont know how long you have played this game. IDK. go look it up yourself. IM not here to be the index to this game. Its been awhile back. They have certainly done quite a bit.

    • Dev stream sometime ago.. simple times with simple... They shrunk pallet circles.
    • Nothing was mentioned about the add-on nerfs to the green map.
    • The medkits with purple bottle and pink syringe, nerfed.
  • We do live in an impatient society and people like "Rapid fire gaming" it is why people are here instead of playing an MMO . You want "hot action" in a game that feels "high octane". Hence why survivors run around leaving scratch marks on the ground, instead of hiding in corners.

But then again. you look at how the game has been forced-shifted into this mentality. We go from hiding, to about EVERY perk under the sun, that gives killers a FREE PASS to locations of survivors.

"Go hide in a locker". -- What locker, they took half of them out.

  • MonsterInMyMind

    To the swatting topic:

Regardless of what people want to think. THis is the harsh reality to "chew on". and yes BHVR caused this. People tend to FORGET this game is NOT region locked, and there ARE people from various countries that play this game. WHERE if they do lash out. They are NOT going to be in trouble for what they did. and certainly Canada or the States won't exactly be able to file an extraditionary charge against someone in another country.

    The rest of the post:

They should have left things ALONE and NOT implemented DC penalties until they could fix the game to the point where cohesive counters in the game were fixed. Yes, a 5 minute timeout. FAIR. a stacking timeout is NOT a good idea.

Let us not forget about people with NORMAL LIVES, that play games. not the try-hard gamer that is here. Is their kids screaming in the background because one of them wants something? If players are unable to grasp this concept of being a responsible, mature person here and stating this is "Crying about a long deserved happening". news flash. You wont have a game that will remain here much longer. Both because of player safety and because people have NORMAL LIVES. outside of looping pallets and trying to do generators. Oh and enjoy Q times of nearly an HOUR, because of how many people DO have normal lives.

Now they have a game that has no interest to them, because they did rack up that penalty, due to the "fall off" that was so great.. yeah, that is a really good idea (not).

  • Yeah, I agree something has to change. Good post btw!

I find it sad that people post so many awful things about banning people for PETTY things. It no longer becomes a video game that is fun.

The penalties could have been 3-4 minutes at most. Since the staff makes the ONE valid argument. That rage quitting became too much.

The stacking penalty ban stuff is overboard. Especially for computer error.

  • Pulsar,

Yeah I can imagine that happening. Regardless their spawn programming should be doing the correct thing by factoring in where the survivors spawned in at and NOT put the killer near anyone. At least, it should be quite a bit further away,,, lolz.

    ------

    @ Nurgling.

Quit being a troll and go find some other thread to harass. Really bud? Nobody has said anything about promoting ANY DC here. The statement of "yeah I can see why players ragequit". is my observation as to why I see it happen.

Please Stop posting bait here and talk about times where players decided to ragequit. Really, discussions are fun to have, but this is just bait and switch to start an argument to derail a thread.

Be civil. Take it as a grain of salt, for some good Character advice. It pays off in the workplace, trust me. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  • Nobody should even remotely compare any game company to League of Legends. I'd list out a bunch of things that league of legends is not. This is a video game that isn't close to that Genre of game.

Half the people treat this game like it is a competitive game where money is being exchanged over wagers, and all bets are on. SO the person that leaves the match is an awful person. News flash.. This... is a .. VIDEO GAME. Not a professional E sport game. Yes, the community is divided now, more than EVER.

The basisis to these DC's coming in was changes that DISRUPTED the game and spiked this increase. I don't know what they are doing behind the scenes, but whatever it is. i hope they look at what happened in 2018 to cause this up-tick in rage quits. Im going to say that this would put down the roadmap as to what they need to fix and QUICKLY. before they dont have a game left.

Remember. EVERYONE is a PAYING CUSTOMER and DLC has to be sold in order for this game to make money and stay going. I dont think putting people at the back of the line, longer and longer. after a "ragequit" is going to solve anything.

Just look at these q times. They are TERRIBLE after the change.

  • The screen capture was taken of me being hooked. 8.5 seconds had passed when the killer made first contact with me. I looped him through the shack, as well as the area around the hook.

Im frustrated with the fact that I literally saw the killer spawn infront of ME on the map, and the fact that I was behind the boulder. The killer ran directly to me. BEHIND... THE.. BOULDER (a large rock that visually obstructs a barrier otherwise that a player should not be able to see through.

    -----

@Nurgling7 Grow up kid. "cry baby" statements are for those whom cant be a civil, mature adults here or act their own age. This isn't Call of Duty or the game overwatch for that matter. Check ur privilege at the door, or your civility for that matter.

  • @Almo said:

We only use DC rate against a Killer as one indicator. We have never changed a Killer just because the DC rate was high.

In Legion's case, the DC rate was in fact quite high. But when we looked at the reason people didn't seem to like playing against them, we agreed with that reasoning and made changes.

So if suddenly we had tons of DC against a Killer that's not in a bad spot, we'd let the DC penalty system take care of it.

With what is happening in the game. I'd put this back down to a 3-4 minute and remove the stacking thing. This is a party game, can I get a woot woot in the chat y'all!

  • With Game crashes, game bugs and the very-now occasional cheater we get in games. I'd say 3-4 minute time out, and leave it at that. none of this stacking stuff.

  • I'd have to say Minecraft Java edition is very tactful at logging in and out. VS WIndows 10 minecraft. Which takes forever in a decade to boot.

Back on support of this game:...

I hope we get a new scary killer in this game that rocks the world. Im hoping for a syringe wielding killer that uses injection substances used on survivors that were in the downed state. While they have to traverse the realm to find cabinets with cures in them.

I also want to see some tendril monsters and medusa next in this game. I think that will really rock the world here.

I was thinking something along the lines that travels through the actual ground. (vines with thorns?) What would be cool is if we get a fight that is like a centralized threat. Which is the ACTUAL entity. Controlled by one person in the center, and survivors are slowly caught into the tendrils as the entity begins a possession. Players fight to free their fellow survivors to escape the trial.

  • cool! I hadn't realized they had another MTG digital title out in awhile. nice! I think the last time I played one was one of those early 2000s at a friend's house. I still have a stack of trap cards in storage that were put away in a safe.

  • im going to leave my 10 cents here. Since this should be addressed. The original post said why they left the match. Someone was cheating. I'd be really angry too, if someone was cheating.

Sure, they didn't say how or what it was. But I am certain It was very obvious that the individual was doing something that wasn't good. Plus given the forum rules. One isn't allowed to discuss cheats here. They don't allow screen captures, videos or descriptions of what was happening. This is to protect the game's integrity. Thus, preventing others from attempting the same type of cheats.

The next part they discussed was. What other games do people like to play while they are waiting for the game to load and/or their penalty to clear. They showed some other video games that are available and they asked what other games people like to play while they are waiting. It sounds very genuine and sincere. As there are other games out there to play while one waits.

The mod said to stay on topic. So a person asks. What other games are being played while one waits to pass the time?

    Mine was minecraft.

  • My favorite is Minecraft, and I don't do American Truck simulator since I own a 1997 Peterbilt with the Cat 3406B engine. We just had the valves adjusted last year and the injectors pulled for cleaning on it here at the farm and it purrs. The DOT rarely stop us for a roadside inspection. But either way.. hehe. The Q times are awful long since the launch of this new ban thing.

I've had some times too, where I just had to pull the plug on the game, due to a lockup or having to walk away from a game that is frustrating. Honestly we were taught in school it is better to walk away from something that frustrates a person. VS fighting other people over it.

With an increasing rate on ban times. It only can make this more dangerous. As players will tend to bottle up their anger even more. Maybe a 3-4 minute suspension and just leave it at that.

I guess that makes sense. Since people in Online Video games have swatted one another over Virtual video games. It is really sad though. Especially what happened in Kansas 2 years back. Where this exact thing happened and it ended in a tragedy. The purpose of being a good company. Is to de-escalate situations and I rightly am very aware that these new penalties could very well cause that type of behavior now in this game.

    Which very-much so concerns me.

Yeah cheating is always rampant in online video games and some people have a very hard time detecting if another player is cheating. I personally find this game more fun than 13th, But I am not very confident in DBD DLC right now. Until things are revised again.

    Cheers, GL ALL!

People call a generic term of location cheating "lag switching" just like people call tissue paper "kleenex". Nobody just flat-out calls it what it actually is.

I mean we can get all technical with terms like UDP modification, ARP poisoning, packet crafting and get down to the nitty gritty of how it is done. But the fact that there are programs that automate the whole process into neat little programs THAT OTHERS CAN DOWNLOAD is another STORY FOR another day.

    --------------------

I really want to drop back down to the argument here of; killers just flat-out spawning in on players and you should consider what I wrote with the whole "capture the flag story" i wrote above. Again nobody likes that and the problem should be addressed. If someone decides to abandon a match because he or she feels that it is unfair. I guess I just dont blame them at this point.

Sure, it is bad that others have to pay for it. We all do and in the realworld this happens all of the time. I personally consider this a "party game" and not a competitive mode. These penalties seem to harsh for a game that doesn't involve a competitive environment and how much there hasn't been solved. Im sure you have noticed that the Q times are going up considerably.

The game is a start-up venture and has a ton of potential. What lead up to many of these dc's has been killer spawns, unfair hits and the fact that the game literally has many other mechanics the developers have to explore.

Players feel as though the basic issues haven't been fixed when there seams to be more cosmetics going out. yes, we want a game company to make money and be able to SELL items so they can pay for the improvements too. That is a fair balance.

But this game feels as though problems that were fixed, became BROKEN in this game's "junior year" compared to its sophomore year of development.

I will end it with this. If you are sitting there telling people that they are intellectually inferior to you and your opinion. That is no way to gain an argument's win. Listening to other people's ideas are. With that I hope you have a great and "magical day" or whatever it is you appreciate in life most.

    take care!

You really must not know much on how people cheat and modify latency in the game. If I was to discuss how this is done with "network tools" and "network modification tools" id probably be in trouble. Moobs isn't crazy here. People do this quite often and yes, the staff have even addressed this in discussions that there ARE people whom are doing this. The fact of the matter is. It isn't more publicly addressed because the company doesn't want to give players the idea.

But in short-terms. Yes players are using teleportation cheats with any sort of way they can. To ruin the experience for others.

  • nobody here is attacking anyone. People want fixes to have fair gaming experience. I rightly have to say that moobs does have a point here. Whether people like it or not. No company is infallible and everyone would like "fair" fights.

    A person cannot deny that.

It would just be like if you wanted to play a game of IRL capture the flag and the Coach decided to put the opposing team facing backwards and right next to the enemy team. It wouldn't be fun.,
