  • ECG is the fallout from bad changes. I dont like it either, but nobody can agree on anything.

    Ideas for changes:

1 ) ECG timer starts right away. (45 to 60 minutes).

2 ) Hatch can no longer be closed. If killers want their secured killers. NOED

3 ) Borrowed time is applied to ANY survivor unhooked within the killer's terror radius. and is no longer just a perk.

4 ) unbreakable is available now to any and all survivors playing and is no longer just a perk.

    5 ) Brutal strength buffed by 15%

6 ) All killer's can MORI a survivor that has been hooked at least twice. and without the perk.

7 ) Distortion no longer has tokens required to work (Same as calm spirit).

This is just my opinion. Nothing too crazy.

  • im really just sick of the bs hits in general. Seams to be a major issue.

  • There is too much going on at this point with networks, especially today. Not everyone lives in a big city or is on fiber. What would be the LOGICAL choice.... would be to re-engineer the game to be MORE forgiving such as adding ONE more HIT to each health state. But what do I know?! Everyone just happens to play this on a $4,000 gaming PC with bonded INTERNET and fiber drops over a wired connection FEEDING from a 100 SFP drop?! right?!

    😁

  • I agree that there is an issue with this game where the majority of perks for rank 1-8 gameplay contribute NOTHING to the match for the killer. once a person plays against coordinated SWF teams. They can play through about ANYTHING and abuse the killer. Here is what my list looks like, for perks I have crossed out. and even then, good teams still counter them EASILY.

    August_2020_Dead_By_Daylight_viable_perks.jpg

  • I agree. This past week, we had another friend of ours buy this game because they have been watching us play this game for a couple of years now and finally wanted to give a try. They are NOT impressed by the substantial grind for this game. let alone how much grinding must be done in order to even have a REMOTELY positive experience. Unlocking perks in this game absolutely is grindy like an MMO and NOT a normal game. Even more, when a person has a perk that is stuck at TIER 1, and the next 20 blood webs have NO upgrade for that perk. let alone even IF a person unlocks the perk in the Shrine of Secrets, The perk might not even show up in that web for DAYS of grinding. Been there done that!

  • Yeah, there is quite a bit a person has to go through in order to stop the abuse from spectate and stream sniping. Let alone anyone can doctor and/or alter game footage in order to get someone into some trouble. I agree that SPECTATING is fun. But one thing I think that would also CURTAIL people whom leave matches early is to not be able to spectate team mates unless they are friends.

Maybe one of the fun things to think about is spectate mode. I mean sometimes everyone wants to know if their team mates made it out alive. Or maybe if they deserved to fall, too! That is very debatable.

Spectate mode has been GREATLY abused.

I had a Meyers find me in the locker the other night and a team mate that Knew I was in there, whom hadn't been in the area. The generator I was next to was running, the one I was working on, was a ways down the road, and my genius team mates gen-locked us. So 2 generators were next to one another. And the one I was working on. Was a ways out. I was using urban evasion and it was keeping me down low, with no running. My Team mate was caught and the killer refused to hook them. While the team mate refused to struggle off their arm. We both could have escaped, but the person ran up and pointed to me in the locker. #########, am I right?

Turns out they were a SWF friend team, salty and sold me out through STEAM, to the killer. and chat was extremely toxic, short of telling someone the 3-letter acronym that begins with the letter "K". Really though. They were so salty and thought I was throwing the game, despite countless efforts to get that generator done. They were mad I didn't take one for the team too, and that their friend should have been able to leave, instead of me. The problem is. They BURNED up ALL the pallets on the map (A phrase for using all pallets and playing bad).

I've logged about 1,500 hours on this game, and the least thing I do is use a locker unless I have to. I think BBQ is the worst perk in this game and that having to use a locker to counter it or prepare for a chase because it procs. IS LAME. So my billion plus threads (not really) I've posted about this cheese perk, proves otherwise... anyway back to the story..

Of course they aren't the most intelligent people, but they thought they were in the right, and I was in the wrong for not properly supporting their SWF team. While im the rando place holder that should put up with their BULL. Whats worse is. This was someone actually streaming on twitch and people thought it was funny in chat. Oh and did I mention they (the streamer) kept saying the words "EF that blendette" ABOUT ME. talk about racism at its finest. Yet their stream rules CLEARLY tell people to not use "RACISM in chat". Yeah, i re-watched the footage and clearly a person can see them being added by that player AND revealing my location to them as they steam chatted. its gross and pathetic.

    • Maybe some additional privacy IS needed with this game, so streamers and their audiences can have protection
    • Staff can have the best penalties on the book, but it doesn't solve the issue.
    • Spectators are just as disruptive here, as they are in Overwatch. At least here, we don't have chat until the end of the match.

Some people are going to say this is FUNNY and should be left in the game, and others are going to possibly agree with me? But.. who knows.

  • KILLER PERK IDEAS:

    Stockholm Syndrome:

The killer doesn't seam so bad. You wish to remain in the trial.

The longer the survivors remain in the exit gate zone. A status effect applies to each survivor in the exit zone. After remaining in the exit zone for 10/5/3 seconds. a speed debuff of 10/12/15 % is applied to the survivor. The survivor must move back into the trial to clear the debuff. After 30 seconds the debuff clears.

    Chains of Avarice:

Greed only digs you deeper into Debt.

After searching through 1 chest located on the map. You receive the exposure status and highlights your Aura to the killer for 15 seconds.

    Total FURY:

This chase has lasted too long. The entity has granted me total rage.

After reaching blood lust Tier II. The next pallet break action instead allows for the killer to clear the pallet without a break action. Instead the pallet splinters into a million pieces. This can occur every 90/60/45 seconds.

    HEX: Insanity:

Countless trials have driven you mad. Will it ever end?

The hex reveals 3 auras of the killer on the map. 2 of which are not real, and the killer's terror radius emanates only around this totem. Total Cleansing time is 20 seconds. While the hex is active a 10/12/15% speed penalty reduction in generator completion will occur.

  • I get those potatos as well. This game really needs some work. Crossplay has brought fourth, en Mass. The Potatoes.

Borrowed time should become a mechanic built into the game. If the killer is within so many METERS of the hook. The status effect is automatically applied. This would END camping, teach killers to become BETTER at the game, save the company from having to read through tons of reports.

Of course it would be fair that they work on giving killers BETTER map control too!

  • Yup, agreed. Only stream snipers would agree that this isn't what they like. heh!

  • Eitherway, the company is VERY apparent that it doesn't like FEEDBACK as to why players are unhappy enough to pull the plug in droves and we aren't supposed to talk about it.

The last time I checked. This wasn't a problem until they implemented hatch closing. Im not stating the facts. Just my observations as to when everyone started leaving matches much more frequent. Shame on me for telling the truth.

    The discussion (example):

It is important that a majority of players are satisfied, that a match feels fair and balanced. Discussing with a person why they chose to abandon the match, is important. From a business standpoint not everyone can be pleased. But actions speak louder than words. If players are so frustrated and mad that after they bought the game, they no longer feel as though the investment of DLC and additional paid-for content is not on the horizon for that same game title.

That becomes a marketing issue. As a profit driven person, myself. it very much is and should be a concern. My goal should be to keep every player here, satisfied to stay on long enough to want to buy DLC and spend 8-9 hours a day streaming my game. Promoting it online, so I can make more money. If it is not a profit oriented mission. Than that is where funding for my game might fall short. Which harms me, as a content creator in the long run. It means if I have additional projects in the future with my name on it. It very well could be a detriment to my success. Meaning if I pitch this idea in the future and my last project was terrible. It may mean that everyone remembered what I did, how I treated another person and my investment could be ded, before it launched.

  • THE salt of this game has only grown as the patching makes more broken mechanics. Here is honest, hard, truthful feedback. This is from taking a MAJORITY of threads posted on FORUMS and YOUTUBE. Don't flag this, because honest feedback is ... honest.

I am summarizing MY FINDINGS. Not my OPINION.

    • Killer hits player, when they weren't behind them. latency issue or cheating killer. either way. DC because they don't deserve the hook points.
    • Player was vaulting and the killer still landed a fatal hit. Player is mad and leaves the match. its a statement to the company and the players.
    • Player was left on the ground too long and cannot get back into the game. Tired of waiting on the ground, laying around listening to the character crying. DC and move on.
    • hatch was slammed shut and the exit gates are too close to one another. Either way. This match was a loss. Lets get on to the post-game chat to finish the fight IRL.
    • Player's team mate unhooked them infront of the killer WITHOUT borrowed time. DC so the killer can go after that player right away to down them too. (mad strats)
    • 2 remaining survivors and they have to get their friend OUT of the match because the killer has BBQ and CHILI. So preventing it from proc'ing means to DC so the perk does NOT go off and they can take what LITTLE time they have until the hatch opens, to go down it. Because lets face it. The killer came across the hatch FIRST, before they did.

Here is QUOTES from games that I've watched on LIVE STREAM:

1 ) EXAMPLE - 'Whatever, that didn't hit me!!, The killer was nowhere near me, cheating piece of (poo). BULL (poop). Im done, im out. Opens match panel and presses "LEAVE".

2 ) EXAMPLE - "What is this game!! I am tired of sitting here, I can't get up, the killer is just leaving me. WHAT THE (F) is the killer DOING!! I am tired of sitting around waiting for this (f) bleedout timer to finish! Im uninstalling this piece of (S). for them not fixing this!! Why do I give them ANY money for DLC!! "

    3) EXAMPLE - "How the (F) did the killer find me, That wall hacking piece of (s) didn't know I was here. Fix your game For (f) sake. SO many G(D) cheaters!! "

My thoughts (this might not be for the kidz).

This is the summary of what is going on and why many players feel as zero efforts have been made. Sure, there are reasons to rage about things. and in all honesty. This game really IS about making frustration. The company can either chose to allow things to happen or if they want to crack down on their opinion of bad behavior. Than maybe this game design isn't what should be hosted. Because this game IS about negative behavior and negative actions. It should be no surprise to the owners that this isn't Mall Cop Jungle Gym Adventure. it should be a horror game.

Just let people DC or better yet. Give the player the option to actually "off themselves" while the remaining people in the trial receive stat boosts so the stronger survivors are rewarded and the weaker ones fall miserable.

It is a game about taking AMERICAN MOVIES that depicts MURDER, DEATH, SATANIC RITUALS, DARK BACKGROUNDS, SERIAL KILLERS, TORTURE AND SPOOKY as HECK situations and bringing them to a GAME. it really IS TOO WATERED DOWN In my opinion. I didn't buy this game to be a good sport about anything. I bought it because it has potential for replay value. I'd really like to see the "gas" turned up on this game and see what nasty, foul things can come out of this game.

Maybe take the Mori and make it phase 3 for ALL games. After 2 hooks, the killer can take the life of that survivor once caught! Thats fair.

Maybe the hatch SHOULD be something that a survivor CAN re-pry open, and the exit gate's lights and buzzers are QUIET.

Maybe the end game collapse should start right from the begining of the match and give us 45-60 minutes to escape regardless.

maybe the end game collapse should take the last 2 minutes and completely MASK all BLOOD TRAILS , survivor screams AND trails left behind.

Finally: I know the staff wants to do MORE and doesn't want to hold back. SO quit holding back and go for it! Make this the most grotesque game ever, the one that would have been ONLY sold under the counter at the local video store in the 90s. Or the game that is so violent. That it makes the 6pm news as the most controversial video game ever. heh.

  • We NEED Karen in this game. !!! DO IT DEVS!! <3 !!!

    Special abilities. perks and maps.

Map - an old, indoor Grocery store.

Interactive item. Throw coupons from an old green-stamp dispenser in order to slow the killer down.

    PERKS.

Request of Manager - When exit gates are powered. The killer's arms outstretch and block the gate, not allowing you to leave.

Droning lecture - The faint whispers approach you as the Karen lurks in the shadows. Explaining to you that this item should be discounted for being substandard. Your agility, sprint burst and exhaustion status occur. From the annoying lecture.

Item Discount: During a chase, tokens are generated. After 10 tokens are generated. the karen runs in a fit of rage for 30 seconds and has full sprint burst abilities.

    Attack Ability:

Rage fit - The Karen can use herself to push against you and knock you down in 1 hits, after the rage meter builds.

MORI - PURSE SLAP. This Karen knows her world well. A heavy purse packed with Coupons smacks the survivor across the 4-head, insta-death. The embarrassment ensues.

Lore: Karen, a lonely suburban mom, that terrorized countless stores found herself in a lustful desire to save 5 cents on a box of cookies, when she went looking for a manager in his office, after repeatedly pounding on the door, it broke open and she entered the room. There, on the table was a box of non-used coupons, and as she noticed this dark shrine sitting there. Candles lit and a book with a strange text she picked it up, trying to pull those coupons out of the book, instead the book OPENED, and the she was NEVER heard from AGAIN!!

    New Survivor : Check-Stand jimmy.

  • The whole scenario with this company is. I dont think they watch these matches from Start to Finish and why things happen. When a Report is filed.

1 ) I don't ever bait a killer to a location of a survivor unless they are absolutely sandbagging others, and there are crows on the locker. while they wait for everyone else to complete generators.

I get those survivors on my team whom think they are entitled to a "heal" or they pout and begin sand bagging people. Most of the time they are angry because someone didn't pick them up off the hook right away or bother to heal them. Because they failed to realize the killer has NURSES CALLING and proper timing for a rescue wasn't at that moment they wanted OFF the ground.

2 ) If someone was running a perk like BOND or Empathy and they ran right to a survivor. Sure, it would be more than reasonable for them to SUSPEND players from public matches for a period of time.

3 )There are also those survivors whom perform Unsafe rescues infront of the killer. Whether their intentions are good or bad. The person shows more intent if they pull the survivor TWICE, infront of the killer. Yes, I get bent out of shape when it comes to someone that does that to me and they receive a ton of "verbal lashing" in chat for doing that.

    -----

I've encouraged the Dead by Daylight staff to approach their ban system with a PROFITABLE approach in hopes of making our community MORE alive and appealing to everyone. If we just ban people for being NORMAL online gamers. There isn't much left there to it. Now is there?

Abusive chat revision - MUTE PENALTY FROM CHAT. ez to program. Implement a chat timeout.

Sandbagging penalty. - Match time out. Player is banned from a public match. Must have 4 invited party members in order to Q for a match.

Public match bans - Player must have 4 swf group in order to Q, as they have been suspended from public matches.

Disconnection time out - I really believe this system is much too strict at this point. Until the Staff can iron out their mechanics of this game to be more FLUID like it was back in 2017 and 2018. There isn't much here now to say this game should have the penalty in place. Q times are mess again because of this.

    • Hatch closing.
    • Keys
    • Mori Balancing.
  • interesting. please continue the discussion!

  • Scummiest perks and changes IMO:

BBQ and Chili - Go hide in a locker so the killer cannot see you when hanging a survivor (The only player on the map with a weapon, gets to see your location and where you are at. Despite we give DISTORTION a few ticks to make it seam "fair". )

Nurses calling - get to see where the player is hiding that is healing.

Make your choice - Punishes you for rescuing survivors.

WARDEN - Locks you into the trial, despite you just opened the gate

Whispers - Because I plan on late-gaming the last survivor.

NOED - Is NOT a scummy perk. It is quite simple... cleanse all totems on the map. It is more of troll perk, because it punishes survivors for not taking the extra step the game has. LOLZ. (couple it with WARDEN, it is SALT inducing).

Hatch closing and End Game Collapse - TBH The game needs something similar to HUNT: Showdown. A contract timer. If there was a hatch stand off, the game would have ended either way.

  • This new ranking system isn't ideal. It really should start everyone out at LEVEL 1 being the lowest rank and not base it just upon 20 tiers of experience.

After seeing countless rip-offs of this game that other companies try to make of this game. its not such a bad game afterall, but re-patching this game repeatedly comes with the consequences of unbalancing gameplay. Because eventually someone will make a knock-off of this game in it's original state and players will gravitate towards The original idea (Lolz it happens). cough.. friday the 13th.

    --------------------------

Nerfing exhaustion status perks, hatch closing and nerfing items has completely re-changed the game multiple times and the fallout from this isn't helping the community. When a game creator has an idea and launches it. It actually seams to be generally a GOOD design. I mean sure, we had some nice Quality of Life Changes that were really nice. Some engine updates that make for better plays and getting away from GENERIC cosmetics makes for a fresh look. But ultimately MAP RELEASES seams to feel like "content". I know that some people feel different on this. that is okay by me. New killers are nice to have as well.

I cannot wait until they come up with something cool like Medussa. But one can only become so bored with the same maps repeatedly.

  • @Mandy said:

It's so much better! I loved the style of the previous version, but definitely prefer the brightness of what they are right now.

TBH lets talk Auras shall we!! Please.

Auras are not a "natural" thing in gaming because it becomes an outline of the player or the killer on the map. Something that is not visually rendered in by the game's Graphics engine. So we have a large discussion coming up here.

Problems with "Auras": This can come off as WALL HACKING. For when any playable character's body is outlined beyond render'd objects. For Example BBQ and Chili, Bond, and a bunch of others. What makes this dangerous for this game is. It becomes CRUTCHING when any point in time a player can see one another.

Dynamically. What makes this game more or less difficult? I run things like HEX: the third seal. In order to hinder survivor rescues to a degree. If a player is in coms with their 4-man team. guess what. it is very likely that this perk is not useful at all.

Sandbaggers excessively use bond. That is another issue in this game.

    ----

So what degree do we have here. Where Auras make the game too easy for players? Should we actually talk about hardcore modes where Aura playing isn't allowed? It might be feasible?

  • We really need a 1-50 system. With 50 being the highest. NOT lvl 1 .. lol

    • Leavers and Hook pullers can stay in the 1-10
    • Jukers 40-50
  • Totems in General need fixing.

    • Survivors cleanse them too fast.
    • Survivors spawn next to lit totems
    • This post made by this person. perfectly outlines the totem issues.
  • @Peanits said:

Just to make one thing clear, we already have zero tolerance for extreme insults (e.g. racism, homophobic slurs, telling people to kill themselves, etc.). These people do not get warnings, they are banned without any hesitation. We have always acted on these sorts of reports. The issue is more so that there is no feedback on the reporter's side when action is taken: You don't get a message in-game letting you know that someone you've reported was banned.

Odds are if you've reported someone for that sort of thing, they were most likely banned shortly after.

Admins, mods don't take this the wrong way, please: I know, i feel ur pain!

Look, Online gaming is HARDCORE and all. Sometimes there are some really nasty people out there, that acted VERY scummy during a match. I've been on both ends of this conversation before and yes. I've slung my fair share of insults out. But never once was it done because the person on the other end was a saint. Sometimes bullies have to deal with a bigger bully, before they back down. Truth.

I dont know if you really want to read through 10,000 reports per day or whom did what. Here is some tips as a FORMER ADMIN from my OWN gig (when IBM Blade centers were KING to own and chewed up roughly 1200 bucks worth of electricity per month, per chassis. and Fujitsu 15k RPM SCSI ultra 320s were THEE drive to have)

simple. MUTE PENALTY. These rich folks out here can buy hundreds of steam accounts and make their money back by creating youtube videos of flaming others. Even if you set some rules up, it doesn't matter. If an admin makes a person mad. The angry party might try and DOX someone, DDOS or SWAT someone. It happens. Part of "De-escalation training is finding what makes a happy medium for parties. Both the victim and the offending person (unfortunately).

I'd SCRIPT some chat filtering. There are long lists of "banned phrases" you can look through, and even some l33t sp33k dictionaries. I did it and I didn't have to worry about someone being mad I gave them a muteban. A mute penalty works much easier. than a total ban. That way I don't have to worry about some weird emails or phone calls coming to my house.

------- Sorry im not allowed to share the scripts, breach of contract etc, but I can discuss -----

But here is the deal you can easily settup the script that checks the chat and it reads back a message:

"We are sorry the phrase or language you typed is not permitted".

    3 strikes report -

"You have been reported multiple times over multiple matches for uncivilized behavior in chat. you have been muted for X number of days for your first offense.

    --------

Other truths: This is a game about extreme violence ( i'd say maybe a 7.5 of 10 for violence) And it is a competitive game. The fact that the match players can talk with the killer, kind of makes me here stumble as to WHY this would be a thing? Id say that your system could better CURTAIL problems for the company if you took the approach of hiding the killer's steam profile NAME until the match concludes. If the person choses to view the profile of the killer. They have to wait until the match concludes and then they can look at it, only after the person exits the match.

There are also those moments when the other survivor in the match decided to hose someone over. For example the meg that always pulls me down infront of the killer. I mean that right there, is 1 of the main reasons for any match to have nothing but salt afterwards.

Let me just summarize this and don't take this personally or the wrong way. The dead by daylight chat has always been a chat channel for people flaming one another. I rarely see positive messages in it. I guess to me, this chat box seams like "Bait" for grounds to ban someone for any reason.

IDK. stay safe everyone. (Thumbs up)

  • i really wanted Benny Hill's theme for it. Since juking this killer is hilarious.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MK6TXMsvgQg

  • I have an extremely nice monitor. So i can easily determine if the survivors are carrying a key.

seeing this from BOTH sides (im trying to be a nicer person these days).

    • Survivors don't know if I am carrying a MORI or not. So if I see a key. Im going to consider a green or yellow MORI. Or I could dodge the lobby. Or bring FRANKLINS.
    • Survivors don't see if the killer is carrying a MORI until the offerings burn (offering that does not turn over is always 1 of 2 things).

    ------------

I guess we need to make this FAIR for all sides!

    • Killers no longer can see keys?
    • Killers no longer can carry a PINK mori?
    • hatch emits a BEAM of light?
    • Hatch can no longer be closed, but a timer of 6 minutes starts on collapse?
  • I've found that lightborn is better. If I see ANY lobby with a single flashlight in it. I equip it. Franklin's means you have to TOUCH the survivor's ITEM first, before it works. Whilst it is just better to go right to the solution!! Preventing the act of being blinded in the first place!

  • Oh I will 100% agree the game's engine is not perfect. Followed by the connection system infrastructure in certain parts of the United States.

I thought a goofy, funny DC system would be fair. A player just left the match.

    Ideas:

They must work for 20,000-50,000 points (before offerings), before the penalty clears and a big OLD "Dunce cap" is on their character's head whenever they are in a match (players would lobby dodge otherwise). and until penalty clears.

20% action speed reduction for the fact that player's need to be annoyed a bit for the leaving.

    • Generators are slower to that player (Debuff)
    • Vaulting is slower.
    • Run speed is slower.

Or the exploration of some sort of "retribution" for the player's last disconnect? IE.

    • Have to perform 20 "Safe rescues" on survivors in order for it to clear?
    • The whole "Survivors lets out a loud FART" when a killer is nearby, just goofy and gross.
    • Player is stuck in cosmetics that are ALL yellow drab (yellow pants, yellow shirt, yellow hat) with the writing "IM A DESERTER" on the t-shirt ;-)

    discuss!

  • It would be interesting for some dynamic changes in the game such as a TIMER, as a person ranks up. But I can also see where they are worried that other players might throw games so they dont have a timer working against them.

  • @Tuscan said:

    Hello!

Since this game is still flooding with harrasement, and this includes death threats, pushing people to suicide etc.

I want a thread where we can post screenshots of players harrasing others because this has to stop.

And also please add a function to hide chat after each game. Me myself have screenshots of people thats been really mean and harmful towards others in end-chat

The game already has a "hide chat function". Any online game is toxic and sometimes venting at another person makes it what it is.

IMO (opinion only). There are games that have taken away the post-game chat function all together. Since the toxicity was too much and the people that it attracts to the game. Makes it "that". This game is about killing, while taking advantage of other player's and their good faith. Sandbagging "bond" players are one of them. Especially for the fact that if they have a bad day. They can quickly ruin the match for others.

Let us also NOT forget about players trapping other team members into corners and forcing them to leave game. Just as bad.

From a FORMER professional server-operator standpoint: i'd make it the point of not BANNING accounts for bad behavior. But using the MUTE PENALTY system we all know and love (From former servers in games). Depending upon what was said. Would be how long players are MUTED from post-game Chat. Players have money to spend and if the account is banned. They create alt accounts. Doesn't matter if hardware bans and IP bans are used. Because any First year tech student can figure out how to circumvent this or be able to ASK SOMEONE that has studied up on computer systems. (it is really no secret these days). 😏

Positive reinforcement sounds "soft" vs hardcore bans (which sounds awesome). But the likelyhood of curbing toxicity doesn't stem from hardcore punishments. With a mute penalty system The player still can play the game. They just cannot use chatbox.

Eh What DO I know. I have an old rack of IBM Blade centers from the early 2000s and a Watchguard in the rack. Eh. simple times, miss them so much. I guess that makes me a computer tech boomer. HA. INFOSPACE. and whom didn't want to "ask jeeves" or tell Lycos to "go get it". 😥

  • I think it would be funny to have this here. As kind of a way to punish the act in a passive-aggressive way. Im guilty. I rage a few times here and there. and i would deserve this too. lol. Comment below!

  • I'd say with the Doctor (I main'd as him until the NERF). Any player should be able to completely drop OUT of madness and back to "normal" status in the match. VS one single static-shock and the player stays in madness.

However, the madness would have to be much more controlling in the match and do something else to the survivors. In order to justify the change.

The Doctor really isn't THAT powerful and perhaps only good at late game plays. Thats it. All static does is make for some skill checks that are difficult and about anyone with a few hundred hours on this game. Has learned how to do skill checks easily. Even under the worst conditions! Repeatedly shocking a survivor does NOTHING. except tier up "madness" ooooh, so scary and awful. (not really). I'd encourage them to consider a revert and make him oppressive like he use to be. So that way he does have more map control.

His baseline perks aren't that threatening. Especially overcharge :-p

  • wow. i rarely see them.

  • No, and I think its fine without it. If I get a team mate that DCs. I understand that their computer crashed or something came up. I just play the round and deal with it. If I am playing as the killer. I generally play the game out and let the last 2 remaining survivors go, or sometimes just the 1. I mean it is, what it is.

What would be funny is. If the survivor DC'd from the last match.

    • They get a "DUNCE" cap to wear for the next match. It won't be on that player's head until the match starts.
    • They have to generate a total of 20,000 BP before the cap and penalty goes away.
    • They have a reduced action speed of 20%
    • The character farts at random when near the killer (lolz, please tell me people here have humor).

Last night I played a match against a very toxic huntress. She brought in an Iridescent Axe Heads which down you in one hit. Two survivors disconnected immediately. She hooked and killed the third, and with me just left standing, I tried to make it to the hatch, but she downed me. She then proceeded to pick me up, broght me to the hatch, dropped me by the hatch, and then immediately closed it. She then let me crawl my way to the exit, she opened the door, only to pick me up and hook me. 😡

I swear the toxicity that resides with this game as unlike any other game I've ever played before.

Yeah, there is some really big reasons why Hatch discussions should occur in this game. I play as killer and only chose to slam the hatch SHUT on a player if they are outright mean. But I do see from their point of View. That the reason why they got to the way they act. In the first place!

My ideas aren't the greatest here. I get to play against my fair share of Rank 3 survivors and can say that I don't always like them. BUT I have to understand that the reason why they love the game, is the same reason I do. (its fun). What makes players keep coming back is risk and Rewards. Closing of the hatch and triggering the end game collapse feels as though. This has taken away from the game, instead of helping the community out.

If I was to SUGGEST something. It would be considerations and revisions to when or how the hatch can be closed. What makes matches a bust from the start is bad team members, and perhaps a bad match-up. Maybe the killer was having a drink or two. They fall in rank, and then sober up to play again! SO the survivors get paired against a really GOOD killer.

What options could we talk about here. To make everyone feel like both sides have the final rush for a risk/reward?

    • Increase timer on ECG plays
    • Fix the distance in which the spawn of the doors can occur?
    • over-Encumber the killer during ECG?
    • Removing the closing of the hatch, but start the ECG timer?
    • The hatch emits a beam of light when opened, but requires the killer to spend time trying to seal the hatch?

Remember, these are just options to discuss! Thanks!!

  • Both sides need revisits.

Survivors: We have no items that last long. (Toolboxes, med kits, insta heal kits)

Killers: We have no way to control the speed of the match now. (Ruin and Thana )

  • Heh, i guess everyone will have a different opinion. Maybe a Hatch rework should be in order?

  • It would be interesting to see what they have in store for us on this one. I know that archives tells a bit of the story. But interactive instances and encounters would be much more meaningful.

"Death is not an escape" - The character dies on the hook. They return to the camp fire, to be sent into a trial again.

"The player pulls the exit gate switch, runs out of the trial and goes where?" Back to the camp fire?

"The killer spawns in and hunts the survivors down" - The entity has selected the most iconic MOVIE franchises of all times and makes them a reality? We know the entity is an avid movie-goer.

The entity is FLAWED: Sees V8 Motor run without a cylinder head and valves to make the motor run. Hatches? Keys? The what-ifs.

  • It really does mean the system needs a FIX at this point. Hatch closing brought this on. :(

  • DC issues are from Community backlash. TBH The game is really fun to play. The abuse of other players that FORCED people to DC is what made this a bad choice in the first place. I dont think it would be so much of a problem if the game offered alternatives to keep the "Flow of the match" going.

Addressed concerns of what causes matches to de-rail.

    • Hatch closing.
    • Slugging.

    ------

Hatch stand off could of been fixed with killers unable to perform the "grab" action when a survivor went down the hatch.

Slugging could be fixed by introducing other mechanics into the game that allow killers to regain control over the match when they feel rushed. IM just as "guilty" for leaving a survivor on the ground and running after other players, so I can drop my time constraints. But at the same time allow survivors to re-join into the fight.

In red ranks, it was used in over 80% of games. But that was only an indicator that we should look at it.

    Full article on Ruin:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/117488/designer-notes-doctor-gatekeeper-hex-ruin

    Short version:

We took a close look at the perk to identify what makes it so frustrating to play against. Three key issues were identified:

    1. Its punishment of new players or those who can't hit Great Skill Checks. Newer players trying to help veterans with generator repairs tend to make the situation worse rather than better.
    2. The passive nature of the gameplay pressure it provides means that there is a huge amount of potential with very little effort or risk on behalf of The Killer.
    3. Its inconsistency due to the random nature of the appearance interval of skill checks.

IMO ruin wasn't that great since rank 1s generally can land skill checks in the "perfect" zone with no issues. and meant little to nothing in the match.

The big question is how to make MORE passive abilities to help killers at rank 1, but not impact the game so much that rank 20s aren't turned off from the game and wish to continue. Each perk seams to have a "Fall off" at a certain rank of players that learn to work through stuff.

  • lol I actually do miss the days of "Juking billies". Kind of funny tbh. Same with Demogorgon. The nerfs are more or less going to be for content creators. Since this game draws attention for "joke videos" that get posted online of players abusing certain killers.

  • Yeah, I posted it as an issue because I have a killer maxed out on many other perks and could prestige the killer (don't feel like it lol) So I was hoping that they would consider a re-address of this. I have other perks in many of the webs that keep popping up, which I would NEVER spend points on. Simply because I have no use for them lolz.

  • I've wondered if they would ever find a way back into the "Real world". I mean could this be something where they gain fervor and make it back to life or like someone said "They are finally allowed to pass away in peace".

    Interesting!

  • What makes for an amazing horror game is the SUSPENSE. Which I enjoy. and I am sure the rest of the thrill seekers here, that watch horror movies. If I watch a horror movie. It puts me back in my seat a bit, when the GORE and suspense occurs. Like. With Dead By Daylight I first got my suspense from the game, when the killer never actually knew where I was, then BBQ and Nurses calling sort of ruined it for me. I think what makes for a "good" game is lighting and "the deed" of the killer.

The issue with re-works is. People bought this game for what it is NOW. Which means it would need a NEW mode added in. So it keeps all sides happy. I guess maybe having killers start to drag players on the ground would be something to add. Or how about the ability to always be able to MORI a player as a "rage meter" builds.

Or how about the exploration of the ECG meter that STARTS the moment the match is engaged. With the ticking clock at 60 minutes. I mean we all have talked about the Ranking system not meaning too much, but how about the timer having less time on it.

    Suggestions :-)...

  • lol NOED is a Hex totem. It just doesn't become LIT until the last generator completes.

IMO NOED doesn't actually go with its term of "Nobody escapes death" because generally they do! It should be more like what WARDEN is, and instead NOT rely on a survivor to be hooked.

    -----------

Nobody Escapes death should be this OPPRESSIVE OP hex that exists in the game as a penalty for NOT completing the other objectives on the map. Which is cleaning up dry totems.

Depending upon the remaining number of DRY TOTEMS on the map. Should determine the POWER of this HEX. If the survivors take the time to cleanse the entire map. This should balance itself out easily.

  • well I think something with jump scares would be kind of nice. How about a much bigger map that is much more dark. O_-

  • If the survivor submits to me at the end of the match. I always give them the EXIT. The way I see it. Doing that and keeping them coming back to the realm of despair keeps the game, ... ALIVE. 😈

  • it's a throw-perk. If a person wants to throw a match. This is the perfect perk to use. It is also useful for custom matches such as

'FRIENDS ONLY" tournaments where a person does 1-hit downs matches. Such as "Sandbagging tournaments. Where the final round is no mither only. last one standing winner takes all.

  • tunneling is fallout from game mechanics that need to be re-worked. As the killer I go after the "easy prey" first. IF that means tunneling a survivor that is playing bad. So be it.

As the killer; I have very little time on the map the higher up in rank I go. The last thing Im going to worry about is hurting the feelings of some rando survivor. especially if I down the same one twice after an unhook. Maybe their team should have left them there a bit longer, until I got into another chase

  • They wont indicate SWF and NON SWF teams. Because if it was a SWF. Most killers would LOBBY DODGE the groups.

I will admit I lobby dodge anything that has "TTV" in the name title. Since those people generally run as a SWF team. I know that TTV is also a disaster for the survive side. 3 SWF + 1 pug is a recipe for disaster. The killer generally has their smartphone in hand, opens their channel and STREAM SNIPES them. So that is the last thing we need.

  • lol i just had a player mad at me for using Bamboozle. OMEGALOLZ

  • Its a "good" and "OP" perk for the survivors ranks 11-20. The perk is basically "wall hax" after every time a survivor is HOOKED.

When you play up there in the higher ranks (1-10). The perk is USELESS and a pathetic excuse for "MORE POINTS". The Killer has to be HOOKING survivors for it to work. If you don't have survivors being hooked it (BBQ) does NOT trigger. The perk contributes nothing to the chases in the match and points GENERATED from winning chases, downing survivors and landing hits. is never going to equal out between having it as a filler, and having another perk that makes a killer that much more powerful.

By the time a person reaches rank 8, 6, 4 and 1. You shouldn't be relying on "locator/radar" perks to find players. We already know where they are at. REPAIRING generators and RESCUING their team members. SWF (Survive With Friends) teams are going to play out in the open and not worry about crouching behind obstacles. They are going to try and find a flashlight as quickly as possible. Send one team member off to ABUSE the killer in chases, and try to keep the killer busy. While generators are being completed.

Since thana and RUIN are (ruined lol) it pretty much now relies on the killer to use perks to win chases. While if it is that bad and you can manage your chase time. A minor "information" perks such as Crows or maybe even Discordance. And even then. Those might not even HELP in the locating of players around an object such as a generator. But it is MUCh better than BBQ and Chili. Because lets face it.....

YOU HAVE TO HOOK THE SURVIVOR FIRST - BEFORE IT WORKS!!

  • By Far, the Spirit. Simply because of the whole hidden warp thing going on, where nobody can see her. Then she comes with a default perk to KILL the obsecession.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 11
