okay thank you.

Personally I think the DC penalty is very much needed and already I've noticed a difference in my matches - now survivors are not dc'ing as soon as they are downed at the start of the match and killers are not dc'ing whenever they lose a totem. I've not seen a particular increase on people trying to suicide on the hook either. So it's a win/win as far as I'm concerned.
People need to realise that when they commit to a lobby, they're committed to playing that match instead of ruining the game for everyone else who does want to play the game.
IMO the company should have taken the easier approach of using an appropriate ranking system so those that want to play the game "hard core" can and those that treat this as a "parlor game" can do so as well. This is a Game (mostly) about AMERICAN HORROR movies, killing, murder, bloodshed and nothing positive comes from ANY of that. Im playing games like PHASMAPHOBIA that are 1000x more scary than this and yet this game has more depiction of that stuff.
If I was sitting in the design seat of this game. I'd dial this thing clear up and make it the Crowning King of horror, terror and violence. Not a "mall cop" simulator. We are talking 3rd time down moris and killer rage meters so they CAN KILL vs just slapping someone with a Melee weapon.
If players are mad, give up and DC from any game they are either COUNTERPLAYING, or they cant counterplay. so they are so MAD they quit. Today, the complaint box stands that why players GIVE UP is because
a ) My team mate is USELESS
b) Im countering the HATCH closure since the try-hard killer is using BBQ
c ) im mad because of an ILLEGAL HIT the killer landed on me. so it enraged me.
d) i have nothing more to do, since the killer slugged my whole team and now the bleedout times are going to take several MINUTES. Im bored.
e ) hackers exist in computing and they can knock any person's connection OUT. Ever heard of NMAP?, backtrack or Kali? talking about exploiting computer systems and networks is absolutely no different than talking about how to bump a Slage brand lock or how to manipulate a Group 2 safe Dialer set. What infuriated everyone is the innocent people that get caught up in a system YOUR company otherwise thinks is protecting its best interest when it clearly does NOT!
There are plenty of people that perceive this game in 2 aspects.
1 ) Competitive
2 ) Non-competitive players.
The question is how do you keep BOTH parties HAPPY? I mean EVERYONE that enters this forums is a PAYING CUSTOMER and a SUPPORTER of the company in one way or another. I'd say if I was going to solve this, so people quit DOXING and DOS'ing one another with the PENALTY SYSTEM is enabled would be a revamp of the rank system. The more times a person clicks EXIT, the slower they progress UP the ranking system and get knocked back every time they do! For those that want to play the match through and the full-n-well of what the company has to offer. They can rank up as long as they play matches and don't leave.
If they play on a bad connection or a faulty computer. They can STILL pay and play to SUPPORT your paycheck and the community. Eitherway. Take this as a grain of salt. Im in my 30s and have ran a couple of ag businesses in my life. Coming online to game in my freetime is fun. But when people aren't having fun. it brings bad vibes and ruins a company's reputation. You can either have a select few play your game for awhile and eventually close the doors early or you can invite everyone to the party and role with the big boyz.
I'd turn that penalty system off and tell folks if they don't like DC stuff happening. There is a nice forum online to find others with likeminds to game until this company has the time and resources to "iron out" their issues. Everyone here IS in control of their outcome of this game, just like IRL. If you have a "buddy system" of people you know. They are going to stick around and help you. If you try and hope a group of strangers and randos are going to help. The cold, harsh answer is "probably not". online games teach nice, valuable lessons.
If someone perceives this as abuse. I can't really help, and wish you a wonderful and "magical day".
peace.

I would agree that facecamping is scummy in this game. 1 survivor has to sit there and is guaranteed the spacebar mashing activity for 2 minutes while their team gets to play the match and they don't. Even IF a person holds onto the hook the entire time About 1 to 1 1/2 generators will be remaining so the killer can CAMP yet again.
Maybe this game could finally use a "face lift" for both sides by Elimanating the NEED to SLUG and CAMP. The design should stem from using VIABLE perks for the killer. As it stands right now. I have crossed off nearly every killer perk on the list. The current metas make ZERO sense and most of what we do in the red and purple rank playing killer is GUARD generators and try to force a GEN LOCK on the last group of generators. We are spent, by breaking chases just to go back and guard those generators again and in the time we loop the killer shack a couple of times. A good team will have COMPLETED all of those generators.
-----
What makes the game such an issue is. The perks killers are given are very Over-powered again any player below rank 15-20. As these are players that are new to the game. When we move into ranks 1-12. Most of those perks are easily countered and make ZERO sense.
HEX PERK: easy, find it. Now the killer has 3 remaining abilities.

"We don't ever get a fair chance at exiting the level since gates are 90 degrees from one another."
You do know the hatch and end game collapse are designed to NOT be fair chances for you to get away, and to, in fact, be unfair chances for you to get away from someone who has legitimately won the game fair and square, right?
We should ask the devs the real reason they put the hatch into the game then? How about we just OMIT it all together then? I play killer more than survivor. Just for the fact that the rewards in this game aren't what they use to be. As killer. I never once expected a match to be handed to me, right up until the end even!
Today with the hatch closing stuff. I notice MORE matches where players GIVE UP early game. I'd say that is plenty of proof right there for me to agree hatch closing wasn't a good idea.
-
I've always called it "pallet slapping". a form of taunting the killer next to the open hatch or the exit gate as a means to troll. Its unsportsmanlike conduct just like BAGGING in the exit zone (Butt dancing).
What makes this even MORE beautiful is if WARDEN becomes active with NOED and then smacking the survivors all down and they taste their own meds.
IMO I would love it if WARDEN was a lil more OP so that way survivors were forced to play with a bit more care and caution.
-
so basically this would ONLY be someone that traps a person in the corner. Maybe "holding the game hostage" isnt' the right phrase then.
Trolling isn't a ban offense.
- Blocking the killer on the way to the hook.
- Blocking a survivor in a corner and hitting them FIRST
- face camping a survivor. So they cannot be unhooked by another survivor.
- downing all 4 survivors and then wondering around the map until the bleedout timer for every survivor runs out.
Holding the game hostage.
- one survivor trapping another survivor in a corner so they cant move. (This can happen on tiles where the generator spawns on a "U" shaped wall)
- As killer forcing the survivor into a non-moveable zone and failing to STRIKE the survivor right away.
Either way. I think that revisions ARE needed in this game so people feel like the game has a "good pace". slugging, face camping, and corner-blocking another player (be that, the killer or survivor). Could really use some LOVE and attention. So people do feel there is things they can do to keep the pace of the game going.Hatch could use an additional revision too. So players feel as though they aren't robbed of a game if their team mates aren't doing well. TO keep players motivated the ENTIRE match.
-
I had a clown yesterday that was exploiting the game and was teleporting to everyone. At first I thought this was a hag or nurse. but it was someone EXPLOITING the game. Yes, I cussed them in chat afterwards. Absolutely no reason for them to RUIN our community.
-
I'd say pink burrito is mediocre at best for the absolute NEW player and the green burrito is 100% useless. I think at some point if I remember right.. didn't the burrito's do a better job at tracking things like the black locks (Hatch). So we knew where they were located at a further distance?
Today, the hatch is only TRACKED if a person has walked over the hatch or was VERY, VERY close to it. Otherwise the add-ons serve no purpose. Even with the Bill Perks swapped to one of them being a hatch tracker. it isn't that great.
I guess what I would like to see; is the map becoming more of a pest towards killers. So if they see a survivor with the map. They have a rough idea what they are going to do. This game has one lighting now and finding generators aren't that hard. So once a person grasps the concept of the game. A person is NEVER going to run "map" ever again. Even WITH exit gates now having their location shown for a few seconds.
eh. who knows! lol.
-
(This is going to be long-winded response, if anyone cares to read it, I applaud you). Im not going to rebuttal these statements.
It is the same thing for every year-1 game. The original friendly player base turns toxic, salty and rude because the game they bought at the start turns into buyer's remorse after the game is changed again. A person will find alot of year 1's and year 2s in a game that become extremely toxic. I hear the common phrase of "DONT YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GAME?!" from y1s. Just like in Overwatch. Same thing.
I find plenty of Year-1s in that game that literally RAGE in the game and lose their MIND in chat on player's. Overwatch refuses to mute-ban them because they aren't going to upset people that pre-ordered their game. Otherwise it looks bad on the company's part.
--
Im a year 2-ish here and even I find the changes here to infuriate me. Despite I still like the game, I no longer "love" the game. I use to play this game every day and spend binging sessions doing the game. Now I dont. Just for the fact that the changes have made the game less interesting to play and it feels MORE "concrete".
When I started playing I felt that the killer ranks a person worked towards in this game. Made me feel like I EARNED the rank. Then when they gave Killers the ability to move BBQ and Chili as a perk , then Nurses calling. it made my rank feel obsolete. I felt like killers were given a crutch. Both from a survivor stand point and a killer stand point. Perks that are genuine "Radar perks" are DUMB. A game about hunting DOWN a survivor after you used LOGICAL deduction and searching felt ruined in some aspects. Because killers get to a certain rank and then they complain they cant rank up because of "SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS".
Whether killers like it or not. SWF (Survive with friends) is very important to the game. It keeps people coming!
What doesn't make the game more appealing to players; is the lack of "carrot and stick" in the game. Such as the HATCH being closed now. I beta tested the Hatch closing and I remember more players disconnecting from their matches when the killer stomped the hatch shut. Or they just GAVE UP, early game. I knew it was a problem and I knew why it was happening.
I did get a bit of understanding into the human mind when I took psychology in college and it made sense how video game companies worked. You have to bait the player into the game. You have to give them risks, rewards and objectives to create an immersive experience. With the hatch now being able to be closed. There really isn't an opportunity to play the match if the teams are bad. Because if the team is bad. The exit gates are NOT on opposite sides of the map. There is ZERO reason to try and even play the match at this point. Because the odds were NOT in one's favor from the moment the map was generated.
Changes to hold player interest (my opinion, not my advice).
ELIMINATE HATCH CLOSING - Remove it! If killers want their 4k. NOED should be played and also be EDITED so it trips when the hatch is available.
END GAME COLLAPSE TIMER - If time spent in a match is a burden on the servers. Id say 60 minutes is FAIR for any match. The timer starts and every 15 minutes the creepy bell sounds.
The reasoning behind this is, there can easily be a 2-survivor, 3-gen lock situation.DC rank capping - If players want to experience LESS team mates that DC. It needs to revolve around the Rank system and use that to determine Player quality. That way if someone disconnects from the match. They lose 2 ranks and their rank is capped for 10 matches (ie, they can no longer go past 2 ranks below the rank they were at.
Example. Player is Rank 10. They DC a match. Their rank drops to rank 12. They have to play 10 matches completely and successfully exit the match 10 times . in order to unfreeze their rank. If they DC again. The system drops them continously but they are still capped at rank 12 (HEY, the idea is a work in progress!) The purpose of this is to allow players that want to be ranking up. To do so, and those that are doing bad or just having a bad day. Can chill. While those that want to cause problems can stay in those ranks. While others can bass them.DISTORTION - It needs MUCH love and MUCH attention. Too many killers CRUTCH off of BBQ and NURSES calling. I'm going to get flamed for this, but as a person whom plays killer often. You CAN rank into red ranks WITHOUT Chili, easily. I do it often and its NOT an issue.
Distortion needs to be an ACTIVE perk that works the same as CALM SPIRIT. Basically a "protection card". It should work at blocking WHISPERS and any time a perk that will reveal the player's Aura to the killer. NO more "tokens". Nurses calling can eliminate all of the tokens right away!
Killer's need some SUPPORT to. Afterall. They ARE the star of the show! The iconic killers of this game need the added hollywood drive that gives them "The edge". Im Sorry to say this but if I take out a list and begin a crossing off all of the perks that are NOT VIABLE for the matches I play in. I'd say 7/8 or even 9/10ths of them are NOT usable to win in a RED RANK game or a PURPLE rank match. As they are only "background noise". to SWF.
Perks that could really use some LOVE are going to need to be work-arounds with HEX totems. IF they are being cleansed. They shouldn't be as easily eliminated from the playing field. After the killer loses that HEX totem. The ability for the killer is GONE forever.
Killers complain about MAP CONTROL and not being able to catch survivors as easily. Should we really consider "FIRE UP" to be a revised so it gives the killer momentum as objectives are being completed? (Faster killer speed, and faster action speeds?)BBQ and nurses only giving ONE audible notification? per-situation it would proc?
WOW, i wrote a lot. okay, i gotta get a life. LOLZ!
-
best advice is to quickly eliminate players and work around with the rank you are playing at. If you are experiencing players that have Decisive strike. Keep a mental note to yourself to down a survivor, hook them and once they get off. Hit them again if they are NOT within your terror radius, leave them ON the ground and find their other team members to HOOK as well! DS promotes slugging and sometimes that is what it takes. However, if you keep trying to slug the other team. They can figure it out and plan to avoid this by playing smart and you will have NOBODY hooked. Next thing you know. EVERYONE has completed all the generators on the map!
Camping doesn't always work the best. They could be running mettle or Borrowed time. I usually bring NOED as an "insurance card" and use that! Nobody likes to be camped and even IF the survivor is acting SCUMMY. Face camping can backfire and then before you know it. 4 survivors are BAGGING infront of you at the exit gate! They leave and laugh at you!. heh.
-
OOO : is used frequently by survivors that plan on running the killer around the map while their teams are clearing the map of generators. So if a team coordinates with one another they can successfully annoy the killer and keep the killer distracted. If the person is bad at it. Well, gg them.
-
I would say the most peaceful solution would be; To create a ranking system based upon "PLAYER QUALITY'.. as a start. That way those that are SERIOUS about the game. Can have an enjoyable experience and those that treat this game as a "parlor-party game" can do the same. I mean when it comes to online games. Some people can chill, and others can rage.
From a business stand point this would make sense. I would say the more people brought to the community. The better. We need paying customers to keep the employees paid to create games for us, the content and the cost of those DEDICATED SERVERS aren't cheep!

This isn't correct. The LEAVE MATCH function is there for emergencies - not for when people get downed instantly, or don't want to play against a certain killer or against a certain survivor perk.
DC'ing is spoiling the game for the other players in the match who do want to play. And I do definitely suggest that if you are unable to play a match, don't even go into a lobby!
We could call this post the "99 thesis dbd".
Not to make you mad at all. But I know whenever we all talk about this topic. Everyone gets mad at one another. I've played this game at a friends house and then got it months after launch. After he begged me to buy this game. DBD back then wasn't THAT bad of a game.
The last 2 years have created some really unpleasant issues in the game. I mean, im addicted to this game. Don't get me wrong! I bought killers here and there. I had a good time! But the level of frustration this game causes. Has taken its toll on alot of people. Addiction to a good game, and frustration to mechanics which are "Brick walls".
When the game starts out. Our adrenaline is "warm" and is things happen. The adrenaline goes CLEAR UP. That is what makes for the THRILL of the chase and the game. When people reach a "low" which is a 'brick wall" where their character is rendered UN-Usable. The player isn't excited anymore and becomes FRUSTRATED. Slugging, camping and unfair hits cause this.
The question the devs should be asking is "What can we do to prevent this?" Manipulating game rules doesn't do anything. When the penalties are on. Players move that behavior to PULLING ON THE HOOK". They want OUT of the match. So they can get their NEXT FIX of adrenaline. It is a "junky" kind of thing. The next "High" a gamer wants!
---
Players DO act bad. The big ISSUE that forced a DC, was:
1 ) the killer that smacked someone through a window, over a pallet, or suddenly the experience of RUBBER BANDING and they get hit! Yes, as the killer I did NOT like pallet vacuums and vault-vacuums. But I understood WHY they were there. As players spend MORE time on this game. They understand what the game WAS and now IS. Its sort of this emotional bond to the game that they have. As changes occur. They say things like "I use to be able to do that. Now I cant... GRRRR".
2 ) Same with Slamming the hatch SHUT. That PREVIOUS hatch design (believe it or not) was a "CARROT and STICK". If the survivor KNOWS they have another way OUT of the match. The reward of ESCAPE. They think to themselves.
"Even IF I try and the team does BAD, i can STILL escape the match".Today, that is gone. As killer. I always thought that NOED should have been something that should have been ACTIVATED once the hatch OPENS. NOED is an "insurance card" for escape prevention". I guess I usually just bring it either way. Since day 1. It is a must. If I want a secured escape! Hatch grabbing is what caused stand offs!3 ) I do remember back in the day. When HATCH stand offs occurred. Had the DEV team taken Away hatch grabbing. I think most killers would have fell back on NOED and played it out! I've done stand-offs before. Some lasting over an hour, some, even more! Hatch stand-offs are still there today, only it is 2 players now, and a group of 3 generators that are too close to one another!
4 ) BBQ and HATCH - DC is a counter. Since we have distortion that receives ONLY a limited number of ticks. It doesn't play right! We know that if there are 2 remaining survivors and the hatch is going to appear. If the one player is going to be hooked. What is the other person going to do. They are going to DC before they are HUNG. So BBQ doesn't PROC! That isn't really a problem at all! It is SAVY players that know the game enough. That in order to FORCE a win for the survivor side. They have to sacrifice their blood points for the other player! More players are becoming Altruistic in this game, for the fact that they KNOW sometimes if it means playing a good game and the other player was nice. They will help them out and give them the hatch. That hatch takes EONS to open. Once BBQ procs. THe killer makes a BEE LINE for that person that they saw
5 ) Bad team mates farming them infront of the killer. We've had that occur too. Where a player is frustrated that they just got pulled down infront of the killer and guess what. THe killer is going to put them right back on the hook. THe person DC's so the killer can catch up with the OFFENDING survivor. People use to never do this. Because they KNEW if they did that. The person they farmed would do that, and the killer could EASILY turn around and give CHASE to them. For their transgressions!
6 ) Slugged survivors. Again. it is a "brick wall" to players. The "bill perk" doesn't become usable, and most people never even run the perk! So how about some risk to reward? If the player crawls to the hook. They should be able to crawl UP it, leave the dying state and get back into the game! It SHOULD be a win for win. If the player goes to the hook. The killer KNOWS where to find them and do what they should have done in in the first place. "HOOK" or Kill. :-)
------
Survivors: I guess I've always thought that DISTORTION (as a perk) should have NO TOKENS being just like calm spirit (perk). While be a standard in the blood web. Slugging could be fixed with players able to crawl out of the dying state, off of a hooking post. I've felt that hatch closing should be removed and that END GAME COLLAPSE might best be set as 60 minutes on the clock. If we are to keep servers CLEAR and OPEN for play! Maybe that is too short. I dont know!
Killers: But I do believe that minor adjustments are needed for this game While killers receive a couple of perks that can help them control the map and win chases easier! I mean I think alot of time could have been SAVED in the time of map design when instead. Safety Pallets could have been easily defeated just by INCREASING the speed Percentage of BRUTAL strength (The perk) slightly and some minor fixes to "FIRE UP", so as the game progressed. The speed of the killer increased. Again. The perception of the "killers threat". As the killer plays the game and the survivors. The clock narrows and the killer is now even MORE angry than ever! (GRR).
Finally, the good old mori. I guess players feel CHEATED that the killer is going to shorten the game up. So instead, lets just say after the third time a player is down. The killer can MORI the player no matter what! ( I mean they ARE the killer). Even Samination jokes that the killers are "hook-eeer-eerz". LOL. (The guy really promotes your game!) With the way the game stands. There are TOO many hooks on the map, and perks that were to HELP the killer get to those hooks. Are pointless! So a Win for Win.
Killers complain about the keys and I agree. I love main-ing the killer! I have a good time! A purple key should only allow ONE survivor through the hatch and a pink key should LOCK the hatch OPEN so nobody can close it! But at the same time. ALLOW the killer to RUN NOED and have it proc. Once the hatch is in an "open position".
---
Outre -thoughts.
Im not making this as a personal attack on the company. I mean i've played this game quite a bit over the years. But these problems weren't really a thing until later patching in the last couple of years. IDK. We aren't going to agree on anything here. Im just going off of what I observe. I do understand some of the human Psych of "carrot and stick". Behavior. DC was turned into a legit strategy. Despite as scummy as can be. Streamers are promoting this game at an all-time high and they need CONTENT that is cohesive and RAPID-FIRE.
I sell semi trucks online, as a side gig and if I tell the person "i have another guy coming out today to look at it, let me set a time" they are going to show up and buy a truck. Vs "Nah, nobody has come yet and looked at it". Its the same tactics any USED CARS SALESMAN applies to their craft. The same should be applied to any online game. Carrot, stick.
😎

Survivors do NOT know what the Killer's level is until POST-GAME. We literally do NOT know if you are rank 1 or rank 20. The game never appropriately matches killers. So you can either be facing a 4-man De Pip Squad or 4 solo pugs that just finished off a bottle of wild Turkey each! So yes, they do need to fix ranks. But at the same time, the game has to pull from ranks. For the Fact that Q times need to be ideal! It comes with some fallout and that is some really bad matches! There just aren't enough DBD players in the world!
-
It would be nice to have a replay system but when Overwatch first started working on it. It caused huge issues for months on end. Something like what a car has, a CDR (Crash Data recorder), is needed. The last 5-10 seconds is recorded and then logs into the file of when it occurred.
A post-game replay system of the every hit a survivor took would be nice. Because when the killer lands a hit. SOME are manipulating their connection to the servers to land hits. Others are playing on WiFi and some people just have a bad connection to the server.
For me, I report it in-game AND Valve Report. So it reaches someone at both companies. In a game which has ZERO forgiveness on hits. It needs to be carefully monitored!
-
This is going to be an ongoing discussion that probably will never receive a peaceful resolve. If the penalty is there, players pull on the hook or hack another person's connection. If the penalty isn't there. Players are unhappy that someone just left the match.
The CURRENT ideal solution is to form a GROUP of friends and form a 4-man team. In my opinion, I think a ranking system which SUPPORTS player habits would be much better. As a person ranks up for what they do. They get to play matches with like-minded individuals. For us whom are FILTHY CASUALS such as myself. I guess I just don't really care. I thought the penalty was lame.
Some treat this as a PARLOR game, where people drink booze, play matches most of the day and if the match is going terrible. They find a new game, while others treat this game like it is a COMPETITIVE E-sports. Both sides are NOT wrong, but both sides claim each other are BAD. If BHVR did build a ranking system which supported that attitude. I would believe, the more COMPETITIVE players would be happy. So they are up there in the ranks. While those that treat this game as casual fun, can play in their own ranks. Im, Just sayin.
-
Hit validation in this game is VERY bad. and always has been. Since this game is UNFORGIVING and within 1-2 hits a player is downed. it is going to be extremely noticeable.
Last night I got really mad at a killer and flamed them in chat, because I was away from them, and then suddenly im now being HIT by them, when I clearly wasn't even remotely close to them. Yes, I am playing on a WIRED connection and a pc that cost a couple grand to build. and don't see this in my OTHER games. So whatever is happening is on their end. I mean i still think the killer was cheating and yet they claimed i was right where I was the whole time. IDK. I dont think there is a good way for this to ever get fixed since there is so much going on.
Cross play has made this 1,000x worse!
-
Here is a thought. Since technically this IS a horror game. How about we go with the standard horror theme and allow the killer to KILL the survivor after they have been hooked twice. I mean they technically ARE "The killer". Half the time the killer only hooks survivors onto MEAT HOOKS. and does nothing else!
I've always thought it would be kinda cool to see survivors being DRAGGED across the map by their feet, and into the killer shack where they would be MORI'd. While they kick and scream, and try and struggle. Today we just see a survivor thrown over the shoulder of a killer, they have pointless struggle meters. and since the maps have so many hooks on them now. It kinda gets boring as to why anyone even presses "struggle" at this point lol.
-
Thoughts on KEY changes. - PLEASE READ THIS DEVS. PLEASE PURDY PLZ!! I promise to be a nicer person!!
1 ) Keys being no longer visible to the killer. If we don't see their mori card. All is fair.
2 ) Franklins demise no longer can knock the key out of the survivor's hand if they have a KEY RING.
3 ) Purple key allowing only 1 survivor through the hatch. But does NOT trigger ECG. IM sure the killers would agree on this one!
4 ) Pink key unlocks the hatch and killer can NOT re-close the hatch once it is unlocked. It stays OPEN. ECG stays on and HEX: NOED ignites any totem not cleansed on the map.
5 ) New add on for key. (ANY COLOR). An Add on which allows the key to resonate a sound which indicates a BLACK LOCK is nearby. Can be used on ANY color of key.
6 ) Any survivor CRAWLING, can still use the key. This actually makes IRL sense!
I hope people like my comment! :-)
-
Yeah, the obnoxious engine with bad sound SFX stuff isn't working. I guess MAYBE if we wanted to "UP" the point of this game more. We COULD have generator's lamp posts actually start to FLICKER much brighter so the killer knows the generator is being worked on by a survivor, and maybe actually have those lights be MUCH brighter.
Maybe some actual updates on the game's lighting where if the generator runs. It actually fully illuminates the area and exposes the survivors more? IDK!
-
BHVR either does stuff that is TOO DRASTIC or NOT at all. I have picked up my own TOXIC habits just from this game alone. If the game company is sincere about things. They will remove lobby chat in pre and post game.
The funny thing is, the game does NOT have a report feature in the PRE-match LOBBY. I can say however that post-game chat is one of those things where players CAN hide the chat box if they want. So if it is open, it should be an "at your own risk" kind of thing. Since during the match players are "gagged" and cannot talk during the match unless they have a discord.
-
I've brought 2 new friends to this game and they are finding the perk grind is AWFUL. in this game. Especially when they have to wait around for SHRINE OF SECRETS or PAY to WIN (buy dlc) to get those perks).
-
Nobody here is being FORCED to play Solo Q and if one doesn't like the DC'ers that come about. Form a 4-man SWF game!
Although, I would agree that maybe perhaps the amount of DCs should count as penalty against RANK PROGRESSION. that way if Solo Q players want ideal games. They can have them.
As a player ranks up they should have a decent grasp of how the game works.
- Knows when to, and when NOT to pull survivors off of hooks.
For changes to the Rank system it should be the following:
- The rate in which they DC from the game should count drastically against their RANK progression. If they so chose to, or not to remain in the match.
- Has the ability to SURVIVE the match. Number of games survived.
- Last man standing awards more progress to their Rank.
In the current state of the game. A survivor can easily travel up the ranks so long as they do basic objectives and work. It really isn't hard to rank up higher in the game. But once a person ranks up and starts to face other players that are much more skilled than they are. That is where frustration comes about.

The new Engine sounds are TERRIBLE. It sounds like a GM 3800 (3.8L) motor from the 90s that has a fried Coil pack and wont completely fire in the cylinder. It was enough to slightly start the air/fuel mixture to burn, and would turn the motor to a certain extent and then slightly "recoil".
Really, go try it for yourself. When I heard that sound, my heart would sink. Because i knew what it meant for work I had to do. I hear that now, and it sounds like a "Cheese grater" to my ears. Im thinking, it has GOT to be the back center cylinder since those were common failure points and the coils frequently shorted out on those specific engines. Heck, I would always go to the parts department guy and just ask for the BLUE colored coils since they were the better brand. ^_^ .
I would say they need to leave the new sound effect for that motor, off. Please behavior. That sound HAUNTS me in my sleep.

dbd seriously needs to handicap the game with environmental changes and not just rely off of player skill rank. 20 levels isn't really enough to show what a player can or cannot do.
Someone can excel at one map and do terrible on the other too!

Last night I had a match where i really did feel bad. Coldwind farm. The person has a pink key, and I was running to the Hatch location since the survivors were also his friends and I was just some rando. I used the key with them ALL around me and the killer SLAMMED the hatch shut. I thought it was bs and I am sure if they were NOT crossplay. I would have been flamed in chat.
Is it really my fault? Probably not. But to some it probably is.
This game has TOXIC issues that are from fatal flaws within the game itself. Maybe if the killer COULDN'T have slammed the hatch SHUT it would have been different for outcome.

Flashlights making a killer deaf... LOL! WHAT?!
Here is something and prolly someone will take this as a rude reply.
Take a flashlight and shine it at one's own face. Does your ears ring? Probably not.
This is learned even before PRESCHOOL IRL.

I really dont think people are leaving in droves from the game and not coming back other than just LEAVING MATCHES and re-Q'ing right away again.
Things are really frustrating right now because of different issues that are going to require some polishing. CrossPlay being EXTREMELY frustrating. Just for the fact that killers are landing more "ILLEGAL HITS" (unfair strikes) on someone whom is on another platform than the killer.
If players are unhappy with "leavers", i'd suggest a person to use "Survive with Friends" until the staff have time to iron out issues to make gameplay more fluid.
- slugging counterplay.
- camping counterplay.
- Distortion perk fixes.
- Killer's map presence for high rank gameplay.
- balancing perks so they aren't OP to new survivors.
- Looking at a Merit based ranking system, so your friendly "leavers" stay in lower ranks and others can move UPwards to their dreams and goals. Since when DC penalties are enabled people use HAX to knock other's connections OUT.
- Hatch closing
- 2-man stand-offs.
- Server Tickrate between platforms and networks.
😎

BEST RULES OF THUMB to avoid the issue of a stream sniper:
- do NOT use "TTV" in a person's steam or player name. I understand promoting a channel is difficult. But it comes at a high cost.
- Don't Put your TTV or YT name links in your steam profile.
- Make your steam profile PRIVATE.
Often, matches are sabotaged in one way or another if the player on your team has this information posted. Killers will often look to see if someone is streaming just to snipe them with their PHONE. There is no easy way to prove what is occurring either. Which is why it is better to DODGE THE LOBBY and find a new one to play in if this is happening.

I am getting tons of stutter from this game's recent update patch.
I am also getting killers that seam to be cheating and maybe they aren't. - The problem with Crossplay and cross platform is; If the killer is from another network that is different than the players they are facing off. It is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Because nobody wants to be struck or hit by someone that actually wasn't behind them on screen.
-
With that killer and most other killers a person has to expect a killer to go out of their way to camp at some point if generators are being completed fast. Depending on the time of the day and the quality of general matches. I'd make the decision to bring BORROWED time.
If the killer camps. Just REPORT them for inactivity, or not participating in match. Most reports do nothing. But w/e,
-
I still agree we need the next killer to be "KAREN" . heh.
-
Cheating reports do NOTHING. The company wants us to record our games, to prove what happened. When instead a server admin WOULD go back and check server logs. Guess what. They can't. This game doesn't have a built in system that allows for a person to view a match. it is very obvious.
Someone just doesn't ask for another person's footage of a match unless they have zero way of spectating the entire match. Infact one could edit and splice fake footage and send it in. (rip).
-
Before Crossplay the Survivor Q times were very short. After Crossplay update they are extremely long. If a person selects to avoid crossplay it is even WORSE times before one can find a match.
match Quality:
It is TERRIBLE. I get potatos from OTHER platforms and as a general. The killer is always running a MORI.
-
survivors swarm hooks if their team mate is being camped. You are playing a POPULAR character that thrives OFF of camping.
-
To me, Counterplay is very important as a gamer. it is what makes the game FUN and EXCITING. I'd have to say that when a person games and the counterplay isn't there. It frustrates a person into not wanting to play or bring their friends to a game.
-
Yeah I wonder if this is a bug. If not. I mean I think this would be cool to actually have in the game.
-
Most people are NOT opting out of Cross play due to artificial Q times. If a person un-checks the crossplay mark. The Q times are substantially longer.
The reason why NOBODY likes crossplay is because of the hit recognition.
The next reason is the players between the two have totally different match making ratings.
-
Here is MY favorite survivor to play as.
-
Well it was on a map I was playing on and spectating my team mate. The map was the small McMillan estate map and it was a Freddy.
-
Gen locking a team is something that has been a problem since they updated the spawn mechanics of the game's generators. That is one strategy that I wished they had never allowed to occur in the game!
As for END GAME COLLAPSE and HATCH. Yup, 2 remaining survivors that are mad at one another will sit there and dance around the map or try to hose one another over. if they are both equally happy and both want to get out. They will legit, not do ANYTHING. Hoping the killer becomes frustrated and leaves. Rarely does it happen. Since everyone has an EGO. So this could go on for an HOUR or more! LOL.
I've had this happen more often NOW with 2 survivors and not just ONE (playing as the killer). So ECG fixed NOTHING! LOL!!!
---
I guess IMO the ECG timer should start right away and give survivors 60 MINUTES to play the field. With hatch being allowed to be OPENED. Such as a "PRY" feature.
-
I have always been curious about an "INACTIVITY" timer so if the killer is slugging people. Something happens such as the player stands still and they instantly die within a short amount of time? What the problem stands with is the killer slugging survivors. I mean there are times where it does have to happen. Such as a person DOES know that the survivor is going to DS them if they pick them up. So they are FORCED to leave the survivor on the ground!
It also comes down to the issue where survivors HAVE to rely on someone to RESCUE them or they just stay on the ground. If everyone is down, the killer can go outside for a smoke break. Shame on survivors for NOT bringing the bill perk. right?
-
Most indoor maps are miserable to play on since there is no GRASS to hide in. If they were to balance the game it would be fixing indoor maps in such a manner where there would be less WINDOWS next to doorways. Depending upon the layout of the map. It can favor one side more than the other.
Coldwind Farm has the problem now for survivors where the only safety zones are on the outside of the map and cow tree.
-
Camping builds.
Monstrous shrine.
Agitation
Iron Grasp
Mad Gritt
.....Setting your steam profile on private and researching a VPN to hide your steam account since you more than likely will get DOX'D at some point. Maybe even a cisco PIX or Smoothwall appliance.
-
I was just curious on this. I mean this is really cool if this did happen!
-
I have a good laugh when a person has the fantasy that everyone is scared of the po-po and that nobody will ever have to worry about being harmed again if there are big scary jail cells waiting for them if they break the law and more laws being passed.
This game is played all over the world and some countries literally, do NOT care about what someone is doing to another PC. Their location cant be proven and the last I checked, unless someone has a static IP address, they more than likely wouldn't be found, let alone they would be more than likely spoofing their actual hardware ID. or using a rogue account bought off of fleabay.
oooh, big scary jail.
Hackers are being enabled by dumb rules which hurts the honest person and helps the dishonest person.
-
I just watched another streamer get taken out too. Really think this company is gotta get their {bad word] together.
-
patching does NOTHING. Ever heard of Backtrack or Kali? Spend a few months or a couple of years learning how it works. Whoops mistell. I really dont care to be honest. I watch this game being streamed. Some really hardworking, good guys that work at streaming this game bring us good content from this game, and i just watched another one with SALTY SURVIVORS that hit their connection and knocked them OUT and off.
Even blizzard has this problem.
-
Eitherway... this is one of those games where people shouldn't expect a whole lot from a team they randomly joined. If one isn't rolling as a 4-stack SWF. Expect failure. and the bad team mate.
As long as I've gamed online, I don't expect much from other players. If someone is mad that another person on their team rages and leaves a match. and it wasn't their own 4-man group. I'd just get over it and play it out.
-
15 minutes is flatout STUPID for a ban. This game already has bad enough Q times the way it is. No wonder why Q times BLOW, because everyone is sitting around waiting.
