FYI those same survivors NOT in a group are not very powerful, but in a group. They are pros. This game community will always be Survivor vs killer opinion . ;)
-
Id say that self care is great, because half the time I get team mates whom do a VERY bad job at skill checks and once that accidental happens. The killer now knows where I am at. Plus 2 team mates in the same area double the odds of being found.
-
I use the perk if I am listening to MUSIC, in a phone call, and being lazy. I'd say it actually is the BEST perk in the game. Especially phone calls lol.
-
its 50/50 for me on this perk. I mean it does serve its purpose :)
-
Only killers enjoy End Game Collapse and hatch closing. ask any survivor main if they enjoy ECG. :)
-
Ruin is too powerful in the low ranks and too easy in the high ranks.
-
(reply to poster) Most people that make games are probably NOT going to be 100% amazing at their game. Even with overwatch. Jeff Kaplan doesn't play above the rank of Platinum he said, and that he said that there are other players that are so much better than he is. I am not going to be making a bad response to a dev for "not playing their game". As there is a big difference between the two parties.
Just like someone like JK wouldn't be playing Overwatch league in contendors instead he builds the game. makes adjustments that are based on player feedback and goes from there.

@Almo said:
But in doing the update, we focused on making him more fun to play as well as against.
LoL is littered with changes they made due to characters being annoying to play against. Most notably Darius, who had a 60% ban rate, but a 48% win rate.
I main doctor. love the character. Once he reaches that certain "point" he really doesn't do so hot against the really good survivors. I'd say that rank 13+ aren't even phased by static or madness anymore, other than casting it on potential pallet throw-downs. The thing casts too slowly. and the only thing good is trying to get madness up as fast as possible with Pink Chess piece or the add-on "order". The rest seams kind of "iffy".
Same with plague. She has VERY niche add-ons. Reworks are fun and all. But once a person reaches a certain "rhythm" it can really be frustrating after a rework. Idk. I'd say that low rank survivors are NOT passing by the doctor easily and the high rank players act like there is nothing there from the doctor and they go "EZ CLAP" ๐

I wish we had MORE blood point capacity at this point. I stockpile now too. Kind of just comes or goes with the mood I have on what to spend it on. WHich is nothing. lolz. It'd be nice if we could just buy items in the blood point store as well. I have LOTS of grays i will never use, and want to buy a billion purple flashlights or keys, or it'd be nice to cash out several gray items for a green, yellow or purple. >:-D
-
LOL ikr! Well I'd have to say we need some compromises here at this point. The game CAN be fun. MANY players are frustrated (DC LIFE) and I gotta say that as a killer MAIN. i want survivors to have a good time and feel as though I am a FORMIDABLE opponent,. yet at the same time I want them to feel as though IF they are the last person left alive. They WORKED hard for the escape.
As a killer MAIN. I can live WITHOUT the 4k. I'd rather just play the game. Everyone gets to play, have fun, and not feel the need to RAGE QUIT the game.
This survivor was NOT let go (For bagging). But I never closed the hatch. Because thats cheep.
-
I play as Doctor and all. and I kinda just want players to stop DC'ing. but after ECG. it seams like this goes hand and hand after they introduced ECG. the trends of DC started to become a norm. Sadly. Punishing players for their opinion. isn't the way to go.
Thus why I try and let people hatch. I completely agree with "Ted member" here. That I can see why survivor frustration is here and they deserve some love from the company to show that survivors are what truly makes it the game. Without them. Us killers have to wait astronomical que times in the game. Thus. I want to say thank you to all survivor mains here.
-
Its never been healthy after this year. thats for certain lolz. Lots and LOTS of DCs. I've been around since late yr 1 and its now repeated DC after DC since june.
-
As a general I miss the old honor system. It made it feel more like a community. :-)
-
I forgot to post this. Im not such a bad person. Sometimes it is best to have SOME compassion in game. 'Dead by Generosity"
(YES I LET THE DWIGHT GO)
-
not a bad idea lol

Response to Mandy;
Not to be rude here;
I went and did what your customer service said. If I had feedback about something . post on the forum. About every piece of feedback here seams to be subject to scrutiny and a panel of players with different opinions. So it doesn't exactly make for "feedback". Everyone perceives the world different and if we saw the world all the same way. Nothing would get done.
Story time;
Im the person that found a security leak on "certain popular SEARCH-engine". I emailed said major search engine company about it several years back and said "hey this is MY findings and this what you NEED to fix". I did it under an alias, so not to humiliate the company.
Their response was to use their forums,. because they didn't want to read my email. So I used a forum and posted the problem and my findings to fix it again. about 20-50 people posted that "this wasn't a thing" and so did staff. 3 months later i notified the US government on this issue, they went and stepped in because of the security issue.
Guess what. NO more search engine account profiles. Had the issue been fixed SOONER and not under scrutiny by mob rule . we'd still have the profiles up and things would have been patched and they wouldn't of have faced legal action.
Just saying that mob rule doesn't always fix things. It might not always be fun what I have to post. But I have to look at problems and cant always make every solution fun and exciting. If this is how things are run. and everything is under scrutiny like this. My posts of feedback isn't going to help anything here.and just the same problems that need to be addressed, Could be addressed.
In short text;
There is a DC epidemic and I'd be happy to help. I shelled out some coin for the game and I am giving an opinion why I don't buy additional expansions anymore like i use to. Im sure other players have various feelings of this as well. Thats great. I'd personally not care to talk with them on this specific feedback issue, and would rather directly submit my experience as a player. Without hearing about others opinions, unless I so chose to do so.
I use to email BHVR on feedback and they wanted me to move from emails to forums.
The harsh response is.
The players didn't pay for my copy of the game, and they are certainly welcome. to interject their opinion on their playtime experience as well. But as for using my feedback as a sounding board to disagree. I mean... I am sure you see it from my point of view.
To finalize the discussion: I mean I personally don't go around and buy many copies of games. I play them until the game probably wears out (lolz old hard drives) and so I usually never want to see a game go offline, because of something that made players mad and and left.
If there is an email line. Id be more than happy to submit responses that way instead.
Thank you - InnCognito

Its 50/50 for me. To me it feels like cheep wins = why try as a survivor.
On the other hand. A bagging survivor gets what they deserve. Either the mori should be used right away with NO hooks, or be after 2 hooks.
Ebony mori should be REMOVED. and any mori promotes tunneling.
-
My feedback on it:
I wouldn't implement the system because players KOBE'd the hook so much, that most people couldn't really have a match.
i. DC is player feedback to problems that have been created. As a player of the game. I found survivor to be more frustrating to play more than it was last year. Im a stealth player and do not enjoy BBQ. Distortion doesn't work worth anything and My playstyle isn't looping killers around jungle gyms, yet trying to adapt to that play style doesn't work for me.
ii. The pallet vacuums were pretty good for a long time and then since the removal of it. It is not viable for me anyway.
iii. The end game collapse has NOT been appealing from a survivor stand point. Everything about it. Doesn't work for me. Hatch closing feels like being cheated and all efforts do not matter. So If I can kobe as the first player down, or the second. I will take it. vs sticking around for more of the match. Because either way I am cheated if I am one of the last 2 remaining survivors.
iv. Medkits going from insta-heals isn't appealing now, at all. It feels like inventory space being used up and the old medkit plays were thrilling. Now, this is just BORING.
v. Exhaustion status perks are useless now. With the way they are nerfed, it doesn't make for good defensive plays now.
vi. As a survivor I don't feel a sense of desire to remain trying in a match anymore, so If I have team mates that aren't doing so great. I'd rather just kobe the hook and move on to my next match
I use to play alot of Killer until the Q times became too long. More than likely because this game isn't appealing to survivor-mains right now. Hence cause = effect.
-
Disconnects are the big one. But not because of players acting bad. It is player response to drastic reduction of survivor abilities in game.
-
I removed cut scene from my game files so it wouldn't play. It hampers the load time, and is VERY VERY loud.
-
Yes, Kobe and locker spam so the killer would come and clear the team OUT.
It is actually a RESPONSE to a greater problem.
- Player doesn't like the map.
- Player doesn't like the killer
- Player doesn't like their team mate
- Player doesnt like finding a hex.
Ultimately the survivor isn't appealing to play right now. That is the bottom line. With all of the changes that have occured over the past year. I'd be inclined to request a REWIND button that goes all the way back to 2017. Because there is not alot of appeal to this game right now for a survivor.
. With all of the stuff that has been taken AWAY from the survivor. It is outright FRUSTRATING.
-
Penalties never fix anything. It only creates more unhappy players. I learned in Psychology class that responses are cause and effect. If we look at the root problem of what has occurred in this game. DCs have increased 10 fold because of players frustrations. I've logged 1,200 hours on the game over the last couple of years. DC never use to be much of a thing.
None of my findings are "Ancient magic" or "rocket science". or AP calculus. They are simple observations from responses to changes in the game.
My findings of DCs increasing are;
- End Game Collapse
- Shorter pallet loops
- Pallet vacuum gone
- Killers spawning in on top of survivors.
1 ) If you ever notice that the DCs are generally within the first 30 seconds of the start of a match. The first person hit, Disconnects or during DC penalty. They kobe'd the hook. I've seen it more than once, where a killer spawns directly infront of a player, and I've had it happen to me. I had a meyers FACING me within 25' of my exact spawn-in location. More than once with a killer too.
2 ) The next DC i've seen happen is a player that puts the pallet down infront of the killer, and the killer strikes them DOWN, and there it happens. DISCONNECT.
3 ) The next DC is the killer camping. THe survivor gets pulled down infront of the killer by their team mate, the killer hits them down again and you hear the "BOING, DC".
4 ) Last but not least, is the 2 remaining survivors. When the last survivor is picked UP by the killer, they disconnect. This way if the killer has BBQ, their team mate's position is NOT revealed to the killer. This really is NOT unsportsmanlike conduct, because they are TRYING to help their fellow survivor OUT. Not the killer.
Im not going to put any feedback here about my opinions on changes. Because no 2 people left on earth will EVER mutually agree with one another.
-
I wouldn't compare this game to Fortnite. this is NOT a large-world Battle Royale Game.
If we talk about who's the biggest kid on the block. Usually it is Blizzard and Epic Games. That is a comparison to size and success.
-
Its built into the game. If players cannot disconnect. Simply put, we can submit to the killer and be done. They can chose to kobe the hook. I do it if my team mates are refusing to participate in a match. If players do it to me, I follow suit.
If staff wants to remove this, they certainly can. I have no objection.
-
ive NEVER seen an SK that small. that is intense!
-
Im a lazy gamer, I prefer to be BELOW 12 (12-20) and just chill out. I could work my way up and rank. But I don't want to work hard. =D
-
lol this game is ALWAYS toxic.
The post-game chat needs removal.
-
it looks like a typical game hit box registration issue. MOST FPS games, this doesn't matter. but since a survivor goes down in 2 hits on most characters, and 1. with others... lolz.
-
I dont care about Rifts and dailies tbh. =p
-
This is going to be the "Game breaker" for disconnects. The player poll should read "Why do you disconnect as a player".
I generally take it ONLY when I am the last person remaining or the last 2 people remaining. I try to be a nice player and ALLOW my team mate to ESCAPE if I am the one about to be hooked. MY REASON for this is;
BECAUSE i know more than likely that the killer WILL have BBQ and CHILI. If I am HOOKED, that means the killer now sees my team mate's AURA. SWF or not. I take one for the team. Staff and players (mainly killers) see this as NEGATIVE behavior. I call this an act of RESPECT to the other person.
Part II.
If I am the last remaining survivor and the hatch closes. I KNOW I have zero chance at escape. The doors are too close, the killer sees the red lights, the buzzers and the clock is too short to attempt to mind game the killer, and rather than just run around for 2 minutes. I'd rather just DC and move on with my life. To me this game is "whos line is it anyway" where the points are made up and nothing really matters. I play to play. everything else is just "noise" in the background. The killer gets their DC points, they get their FREE win,. They got what they wanted. and I didn't spend my life, WASTING my time trying to get out.
Part III.
If the killer wants to be a reasonable KILLER and play the game. We can do that. If the killer wants a FREE win. I am MORE than happy to give it to them and just MOVE on to the next match. Really, I literally do NOT care about BPs and shards at this point in time.
Fixing generators can be fun. So is leading the killer on chases, it can be FUN. Maybe picking up some items here or there. FUN. A killer that sees where I am hiding, is NOT fun. (radar perks). I bought this game when it was about HIDING, and when there are equal matches that are "hide n go seek" I have fun. When there are games that are about ONLY chases. It seams BORING. I can go KOBE the hook and find another MATCH where a killer actually just wants to play the game.
To me, the DC is about MATCH SURFING. What do I as the player want from the game? Answer: The game the way it was, but no longer always is. The fond memories of buying this game on year ONE. Sometimes a person gets Year-ONE quality matches, other times it doesn't. I shouldn't have to play a game where the killer SPAWNS infront of ME. and I shouldn't have to play matches where the killer ALWAYS sees where I am at 60% of the time, and hatch stand-offs were THRILLING.
I get it.... We cant always have what we want ;-)
-
Customer service says to apply feedback on their forums. and to introduce discussions on "discussions" threads. Sorry not going to reply on other player's opinions. If the company wants player opinions they can have an email address. Sorry I don't care about other's opinions. It may sound harsh or not polite. But I am not here to discuss. Otherwise I would have posted in the "discussion' section.

Plague is a strange one. I bought her at launch of the expansion and felt she was very underpowered. Then with the right perks and add-ons, she was ULTRA OP.
She really has a major power divide between Good survivors and survivors that are still learning.
Good strats to play against Plague:
- MINIMIZE CLEANSING.
- Do NOT CLEANSE in fountains near exit gates lolz.
- Do NOT cleanse in fountains that are in killer shacks. (MEGA LOLZ).
Her add-ons are actually REALLY bad, and only a couple are good. Just like the Doctor (im sure there are others that are just as bad - LOLZ trapper).
From what it felt like for me. The projectile vomiting she does feels, like the add ons should have NOT been the way they are. The range she has, is an issue, and the duration of the puking.
- Things like "Tablet add-on". leave me going "#########?! LOLZ".
- while Emetics and Toe seam to be the ONLY useful add-on.
-
Devs are on vacation. They told everyone "NO WINTER EVENT" and they were taking a break. Probably NOT a bad idea tbh. If it gives them 3 weeks off to take a break and to come back to fix things. I'd be happy with this.
Maybe decide NOT to DC ban, but come up with some NEEDED fixes so the game is appealing to MORE survivors, so killers can have their Que times fixed. =p.
-
Hitboxes are insanely big right now. Huntresses learn real fast that pink heads = DC and during DC ban it = bad survivor behavior or kobes.
When huntress one hit downed survivors, survivors gave the killer they want. an EZ win. SO they all rushed to the basement, took the hits and that was game. The killer's #1 complaint. - It wasn't a fun experience and the match had few points. lolz... cancer.
-
After DC penalties test. More survivors decided to KOBE the hooks early game, and then there were TONS of steam threads about killers wanting KOBE bans due to lack of points they gained in a match and survivors mad their team mates took the first hook.
Actions speak volumes. Either killers get their EZ wins and should stop complaining or steps should be taken into account that DCs didn't come out of thin-air. The game has been around 3 years and the only things that have really forced this type of Behavior is End Game Collapse, and what BHVR did with Pallet loops/ Pallet Vacuums.
None of the Dedicated servers were even ONLINE before the DC epidemic hit.
-
They should give survivors Cyanide pills.
-
Players in most of my matches take the hook and pull on it after first hook. There is zero difference other than how the player leaves the match.
- Killer hooks survivor. Survivor pulls on hook until 2nd phase. Survivor dies. leaves match
- Killer hooks the survivor 3 times, survivor dies. leaves match.
- Grumpy survivor disconnects from the match. Survivor leaves match.
- Survivor misses a key-spam and accidentally lets go of the hoook. Survivor dies. leaves match.
- Grumpy survivor runs right to killer, gets downed, pulls on hook to kobe it, survivor dies, leaves match.
-
Lets be honest here. This game has a very thin and narrow line about it. Yes, this game use to be outright addictive and fun. But when it becomes a chore, nobody sticks around for that "noise". The steam forums have tons of reports of "The game crashes, we receive DC penalty". Not everyone played this game on a Wired connection and a 3 thousand dollar gaming pc.
Most customers played this game on Laptops and on WiFi connections. Honestly, the saving grace for survivors was the hatch, so if their team mates were a downfall to the match, they could escape. After that was taken away by End Game Collapse. DCs escelated and some call this abuse. I call this a social response caused by a change. (take some psychology courses in college and learn a few things).
Nobody likes this system and this SHOULD have been tested on PTR, NOT live customer services. I would get RID of the DC penalty system, figure out why the influx of disconnects happened. Nobody just became "spoiled brats" over night. It is something that legit caused this.
I was talking to my buddy that runs a gamestore and even he said he pulled all DBD copies off the shelf until this is resolved.
-
You know what. This game has TONS of performance problems and we know computers were NEVER perfect. Heck my father use to run a Punch-tape computer to run his CNC Lathe to cut parts for commercial aircraft and we know that humans are still better than a machine. That said. nobody is a "god" at programming. except my father... lolz jk.
Here is the deal. Id get over to steam and do some damage control or you wont have a game by next Christmas (OR THIS). Really. I mean I hope you have another game in the works, because people are MAD AF about this game crashes and the penalties occur.
Sure, my opinion matters little to nothing. Im a filthy casual player. But I'd really give a good look at this and your extremism on DC penalties. Nobody here runs ECC RAM, CRAY computer or a UDO/MO storage library (well I own a UDO library from plasmon). but WHO is going to have that level of redundancy?! NOBODY. Nobody is going to have an APC UPS, a dual load balancing High availability cluster running infiniband and iscsi triple redundant citrix fail overs with heartbeat, and a 20kw Catapillar diesel generator in their backyard with duel teamed nics and two separate ISPs just to play a 20 dollar game. N/O.
NOBODY once asked ANYONE why they rage-quit the game, let alone investigated game faults for the other half. Unreal engine is a PROJECT game engine. It is used as a PLATFORM for startup companies and low budget development because raw-coding stinks to do. (looking at u linux I and II). With that said. Yes, people that are gone from the match make it a bad time. But I learned to become "numb to it. Since the game is already very one-sided. The hatch closes, killers camp, slug, and run half a billion radar perks, while all of my exhaustion status perks, insta heal med kits, and short pallet loops are just going to solve that aspect.
My father said that honest truths hurt worse than casual lies...
-
A good Sabo team can easily counterplay killers very well. Look at it from the survivor's standpoint. They carry NO weapons to stop YOU.
-
I only did a bit with it. I really dont care about points and all. I am a "filthy casual". So I kinda just do what works for me.
-
So what you are saying is, anyone can access the hatch without the key, and once it appears, we can try to OPEN the thing regardless? ๐
-
The doctor is perhaps the greatest killer in this game. He brings torrent, caos, pain and suffering to the survivors. Anyway possible. He is by far, my most favorite killer to play in the game. When the doctor spawns into the map. The screams of Caos, confusion and pain to all those whom are in the trial. That said. The doctor does the entity's work, by far. The best. Stay safe in the fog. See you in the trials! ๐
-
Just a recap:
- I have broke NO official game rules.
- In the time survivors are down. I can do whatever I want. I can break pallets, bust generators. Find hatch to close and even look at survivor positioning.
- By definition. I never held the game hostage according to game rules.
- I am unaware of what perks survivors are running.
- This is also, NOT unsportsmanlike conduct. As I am actively searching the level for said level objectives to interact with those, said items.
As quoted by the rules:
------Discarded reports reasons-----
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT
* Camping
* Slugging
* Tunneling
* Streamsniping
* Teabagging
* Bodyblocking
* Looping
* Tapping generators with ruin
--- that is the excerpt rules of the game, posted above ------
The point of the topic is: killers can do this and survivors are going to be subjected to this type of treatment. Hence, because there is no fixes to the game to counter this. Other than perks. Which most survivors do NOT run said perks to counter slugging. Killers can take advantage of this mechanic in hopes the survivor can force their hand one way or another. As a killer. I have to bet on the fact that one or all survivors are running adrenaline and that if I cannot slug them. I will not 4k a team. Yes, this is a shady tactic and I will say that I do NOT agree a survivor-player should have to wait 4-6 minutes before a match can conclude. NO, the game is not "held hostage" since the survivor will EVENTUALLY perish and/or succumb to their mortal, in-game wounds.
-
I never asked for anyone's opinion here. Yes, I've played killer, bought a few killer DLCs. I took my Doctor to rank 5. again. I do not really care what anyone has to say. This is a feedback thread. Not a "show n tell" session.
-
I personally think BBQ, and Nurses calling are DISGUSTING. PERKS.
Im at like 1,500 hours on the game. I've played it a few seasons none the less.
When you play as a Killer. BBQ is very powerful. It is a FREE PASS to the location of all survivors. Once you hook a survivor.
Many will say "go hide in a locker". This game has FEWER locks now. Than it did before. Okay. SO lets play this out. If I run IRON MAIDEN and BBQ. That combination is TOXIC.
So a killer can play that set of perks, but to a point. and that my friends is called...
A "DE-PIP SQUAD" or an "SWF group: (survive with friends). In those scenarios, you will run into groups that literally spend time interacting with YOU, (the killer) and they will ALWAYS be playing within your terror radius. So BBQ never procs. They ALL will be in Discord or some sort of Voice coms, to communicate with one another. THEY WILL LOOP you endlessly!! No joke.
Because a perk you could have been using to help you out. Is only now showing you locations and that is OUTSIDE of a certain radius. Yet you will feel HELPLESS because the slot you needed to help you in the interactions. is now filled and doing something completely useless.
Even with NURSES calling. You might see that person healing. But even IF you break visual to tag that hiding person whom is healing. They are more than likely sitting under a pallet, or ready to abuse you with a flashlight. So everything there,That killers work towards. Becomes a skill ceiling. and one they created for themself. Which is what BBQ has done in general to this game.
I'd say that BBQ is unfair against solo players and BBQ is useless against SWF Squads.
Honestly, the best way to play this game as a killer is. Work in the low ranks and LEARN to not use those types of perks from the start. Train yourself to find survivors without them, and work towards controlling a map is better than relying on a radar.
-
As long as a game has Decent counters and both sides can equally counter. It can be fun, and use to be VERY FUN.
The game had balances for bad matches when a person's team mates were POTATOES. Now that the killer can slam the hatch shut. hm.. real great game there...
Or a game about HIDING from the killer. Becomes a game where the killer gets free passes to survivor locations. WOW> really .. this is NOT a scary game anymore. its just absurd.
-
This use to be a scary game. Hide, sneak around, do generators. Killer creeps around and the feeling of almost pooping my pants while hiding from a Serial killer.
I don't know what this game is anymore.. It is NOT scary. AT ALL.
-
As a survivor, If I drop into a lobby with a person that has a "stream name" in their chat. I LEAVE the lobby. As I know that they have a high probability of being STREAM SNIPED.
As Killer. I CLOSE the lobby. I'm not being paid to promote their channel. It isn't my job to provide them content. Nor did I Sign a legally binding contract with them.
-
This was a situation where the killer was using BBQ. As soon as I was hung. The players that were in a corner were tracked by the killer, and the killer went right to their location. They left. The match OUT of RAGE and disconnected. Their names, were all censored out of respect.
This was a Solo Que game I was doing today. I figured I would try and give the other guy a chance at the hatch as quickly as possible. Because the bill deserved it. So yanking on the hook was the fastest chance I could give him. But because this game has BBQ. The killer then went on over to that other player's location. And the killer continued to farm the bill until they got enough points and dragged him to the hook.
It just goes to show. That just how much players truly do hate this perk. and quite frankly I certainly hope something gets changed for the better.
Maybe if this game didn't have BBQ and did have a hatch system like it use to. With a few adjustments. Players would feel better about the game.
What do I know....
