Most of those points are correct. Technically, the red background denotes someone who has been chosen as Forum User of the Month. All of the Trusted members have been FUotM, but not all FUotM become Trusted (although I believe LordGlint is the only current example of the latter).
Also, the devs are allowed to choose their own profile picture. I believe the only ones with the BHVR avatar are the CMs, though I'm not sure whether this is a coincidence or if the CMs specifically are required to keep that profile picture.
The bars appear on a user's profile picture when they are jailed. This is a temporary, one-week restriction placed on a user after their second violation of the forum rules (or first, if the violation was particularly serious). While jailed, they cannot create discussions, and I've heard (although I'm not sure if this is true) that there are also restrictions on how often they are allowed to comment.
I see you've come a long way. Someone made a wise choice by ranking you Trusted. Your replies are always enlighting. Thanks for that!

Well that makes sense to me. I wasnt able to find that info. Thanks for the heads up!

No im saying being toxic is toxic. I play survivor more than killer, you dont play killer at all. You also aren't very good at survivor and consider anyone who kills you toxic.
We got that out of the way, you mad we get it. You mad af, now tell us why exactly no bullshit why youre a toxic survivor lol. Thats all we want to know lol
Here is my DBD Stats. As you may see, i play and played killer way more often than surv. (approx 75-25)
https://dbd.onteh.net.au/playerstats/76561198088279942/Nice try buddy.
-
No. Nothing better than hitting a confused survivor with M&A out of nowhere.
-
Old Ruin was booooooooring and annoying.
New Ruin rewards killer gameplay as intended (if the totem stays alive).
-
Tunneling is always okay. It is in the game. Just like genrushing, camping, DS and NOED.
Sometimes tunneling is the smartest thing to do because some teams, esp. SWF rely on one very good surv while the others have a walk in the park. Tunnel their rock and they die like flies.
If they all come to tank hits for this one person, you know you're doing it right.

You wanna use the guy that literally plays for a living as a benchmark?
Applying the same logic survivors should have all perks removed since the Depip squad proved it was possible to beat killers with no perks.
No, but using survivors with the same experience level as benchmark is also useless. Devs dont balance around these people.

Waving your hands does not mean that at all, I’ve seen many survivors who spam it just to get my attention
It means "The killer is camping" since 2k16.
If Killer is camping your hook, keep tapping M1 for half a second to raise your arms before dropping them again. Keep doing that to warn fellow Survivors NOT to try rescuing you. It's amazingly annoying to watch people charge head-first into obvious traps because they don't know the survivor code. Please spread the word, seems noone reads guides anymore nowadays.32 votes and 44 comments so far on Reddit1 vote and 5 comments so far on Reddit -

Yes this one trial, these survivors did something completely unique that people were completely unaware of as nobody has done this ever in the history of dbd. /S
So let's find one of those ultra rare 4k videos and use it to demand balance in survs favour.

You talking to me? Because nah, not at all lol. Easy is an enable for survivors but why is the survivor side of the game so toxic? I dont know. I offered some theories and really wanted someone toxic to tell me about why they do what they do but, like i said in some of my theories, i dont think the average toxic survivor considereds (im sorry im sippin on a 40 idk how to spell) themselves toxic.
Toxic killers are much less of an issue and also their reasoning is predictable, not just because they feel like the game doesn't favor them but because every single killer in DBD deals with toxic survivors. I think it was Big Smoke who said "Bad blood breeds the bad blood"
You have any proof for the statement that toxic killers are much less? Also what means toxic? Tbagging? Flashlight? Toolbox? Looping?
I meat toxic killers many times each day. If i consider tunneling and camping toxic, killer's toxicity rate would be at 80%
Whatever you try to achieve with this discussion, it wont work. If the behaviour or gameplay of some foreign people in an online game gets you tilted or triggered, you should really not play this game. Get a thicker skin and you will feel way less toxicity.
-
M1 means camping. Since 2k16
If someone is waving, i wont go for the rescue. If i get camped and my mates wont use the time to power gens, ill just suicide and find another game.

Right so 1 game goes poorly and we should completely revamp the game?
Should we just not include all the 4/3k matches under the same conditions?
Also just looking at this match, look at him instandly just leaving people, that is what cost him the game.
He also said it would refrain from slugging.... I mean... if you chose not to use your options to ermm "win" or do better or whatever, then you should not use this as an example of lack of balance.
Im not saying nothing should be done to slow the game down a tad but this is just all kinds of wrong.
Happy to see another reflected opinion.
Problem with all the bias is, that if he wins a game - it was survivors making faults or playing braindead. I've heard it too often. If the killer makes bad decisions - balance discussion
-
He met a optimal team. Problem in this game is not Hex: Ruin but SWF. This would have happened even with old ruin. These games happen to every killer out there. You can find such videos all over the place, especially on truetalent's channel.
Thing is, if he wins the next game without a gen going off he either created a new build or played godlike. Actually he was wrecking potato survs, which also happens to a lot of killers, esp. with the flawed ranks at the moment but no one talks about this.
-
I still enjoy the game on both sides.
Even if i dont 4k as a killer, i usually get loads of BP - which is my main goal. U cant expect to demolish survs every game at red ranks.
As a surv i am happy that keeping the killer busy finally pays out. As a solo survivor i often encountered situations where i ran the killer for several minutes and my mates were busy with searching Hex:Ruin or failing skillchecks.
The game now runs at a faster pace and i guess some people just have to get used ot it.
-
Survivors are toxic because the game is easy.
Killers are toxic because the game is hard.
Did i get your point?

sure, survivors lose pips.
explains why i dont lose them when a killer dc's lol
In case u missed it: It makes a difference in which way the killer dcs.
I wont go in detail since i dont risk a warning.
Survivors can loose pips.

you didn't lose a pip if the killer DC'd. Restart your game, the pip returns. Survivors are protected from pip loss, lol
i make killers DC all the time (its actually a shocking amount, and my survivor team mates still DC more, go figure), and never lose a pip. as for your WGLF stacks and BP, you're not losing anything. you aren't losing something unless you already had it.
also, lose only has one "o" in it, not two. no disrespect, its just one of those words 1/2 the internet seems to get wrong and i have no idea why o.o
I was rank 1, i went to rank 2.
I stayed at Rank 2.
Survivors loose a pip.

Like I said, post the video and I'll give you credit. Too many people come on here whining about the killer DC'ing when they or there team are playing toxic as hell. Or, maybe the guys internet took a 💩💩💩. I'm not accusing you of this, don't get it wrong, but I'm just saying. Killers don't just quit for the hell of it. I've never seen that, unless they lose connection, and that isn't there fault.
Ur credit? I couldnt care less :D

good for you, man
though if you are a survivor complaining about killer DC's, even though you can, at most, lose an offering, vs killers who lose much more when a survivor DC's...I mean, I wouldn't call you a crybaby, but it does seem a bit curious
I lost a pip. Not sure what u try to say here.
On top i lost the possiblity to gain BP and WGLF stacks, loot an item and escape the way i am supposed to. What does a killer loose on top of that?

they literally said after the test that adjustments needed to be made but it would eventually come back, and said during the stream that people were being punished for issues out of their control.
i for one welcome the DC punishments. tired of survivors DCing, making it impossible for me to pip when i play killer.
Oh, u want ur pip and not being robbed by a DC?
Well i have been called crybaby for that mindset.

@ThisGuuy83 said:
Well I'm pretty sure toxicity had something to do with it. If you or your team were t-bagging, gen rushing, and taunting the killer, can you really blame him? They already gutted ruin, which most killers relied on to help slow the game down, so there not gonna play your bully games anymore. I'd say Post your vid of the match instead of a pic. A picture can tell a thousand different stories, but video doesn't lie...
Like i said. No SWF, i always play solo. I didnt tbag and taunt or whatever (these things are in the game - a game for adults - gosh).
He left when he chased me and i used a jungle gym. Guess that was to harsh. Ill just lie down next time i meet a killer.

Please try to keep the discussion civil and respectful.
DCs are a problem on both sides, it's not about only survivors or killers, so please try to avoid justifying something that is clearly against the rules, thank you.
Thanks for clearing that it is against the rules. No matter who does it.
Do you have any information if the penalties come back or if the testing was a one-time-thing?

Sorry but you really sound like a person who teabags and expects people to be okay with your toxic attitude, calling someone a "snowflake" only proves my theory.
How do you call someone that leaves a match just because someone else used something that is in the game (i dont talk about holding games hostage or bug abusing)?
-
@IM_A_COWBOY said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1050874#Comment_1050874
glad i wasn't the only one who thought that :/
dc's are bad all around, but imagine complaining specifically about killer dc's...when survivors dc on a much larger scale. at least when a killer dc's, you don't lose a pip. when a survivor dc's, a killer loses the potential to pip, and can even depip. thus, survivor dc's are a bigger issue.
basically, suck it up.
So literally killers dcing is okay cause the game is imbalanced and survivors can bring perks and items. They play to have fun and if the game is unfun they are supposed to use the "Leave Game" option.
Survivors dcing is inexcusable and snowflake behaviour.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom with me.

Well your thread post seems to be bashing killers for dcing because whenever survivors dc it’s more of a “ aww man “ momment but when a killer dcs everyone bashed them for dcing
I better stop replying to you cause i dont want to risk a warning or a ban, so this is the last words u get from me: Learn to read and recognize your own bullshit.

Funny how your brung a tool box and meta survivor perks and are complaining about killer dc, hypocrite much
What is hypocrite?
U want me to play No Mither with an instaheal to please the killer?
Toolboxes, Perks, Servers, bad start, tbags - All these are valid reasons to DC? I never DC'ed on purpose in 5k hours playtime. I have no understanding for such childish behaviour, no matter what role goes for the DC.
I'm genuinely shocked by the mindset of the majority in this thread and i really hope, the devs find a solution to this.

@Hex_Face_Camp said:
Were you guys gen rushing? Not saying it's a good excuse for the dc but I kinda know how it feels to get gen rushed (I'd rather just slug or face camp but not dc lol)
we had 3 gens and he had 3 hooks after around 4-5 minutes.
No SWF, no tbag or whatever. As if these were valid excuses...
-
Interesting how many of you guys justify this behaviour with game mechanics.
If the game is so bad for you, why do u even play it?
Survs are screwed by dedicated servers as well.
If i depip because someone else is a snowflake, i have a valid point to be annoyed.
Toolboxes, DS,Loops - These are game mechanics
Just like camping and tunneling. How about you guys grow up instead of justifying such childish behaviour...

You, sir, should become a politican.
This one made my day.

I'm a simple man. I bought it.
-
Is he performing godlike again?
-
Your math might work if a killer is afk or dumb enough to chase one person for too long.
There is no black and white. It depens on the killer, the map and the perks. Not every group is SWF. I queue solo all the time and if i can choose between a repaired gen and two nearly repaired gens, ill take the single one.
-
Did you just really copy your reply and open a new thread saying exact the same?
Well at least i understand that postcount now.
-
No.
-
Things are complicated.
-
Those MS-Paint skills are even better than the idea itself.
Dat hand bruh
-
First of all im sorry for what is happening to you. But hear me out, most of those red ranks aren't even green rank regarding their game sense and game knowledge.
With their latest changes to rank reset the devs broke their own system even more.
You are a victim of matchmaking which tries to find survivors on your rank for a limited amount of time, but obviously isnt able to.

Two things:
First, several Survivors on different Gens will always be faster and more difficult for the Killer.
Second, Survivors spawn together anyway. I guess this is some form of a Bug, because it did not use to be like that a few months ago (and also I think it would be better to spawn completely alone, so that "Reunited" actually means something and does not pop up 3 times at the start of the Trial)
@Topic:
I use it on Trapper, Hag and Myers. First two for Setup Time, Myers so that I ideally have not to travel the whole Map to get to Tier 2, because Survivors and myself are moving closer to each other.
I'd be very cautious with the word always.
If you get a Toolbox + Prove Thyself squad and commit to a chase for too long, these guys might cause loads of trouble.
A single gen takes longer and can be defended with less effort than a gen that is rushed by several survs. Once a gen is powered, it is gone.

Sadly to some people it's the latter. You're in a superposition between the most hyperbolic and stereotypical killer and survivor mains that exist, and depending on how badly people want to get an excuse to ignore your opinion they can just put you in either camp. Afterall, even if you agree with someone on 99% of their posts, if you disagree on a single pet issue no matter how extreme and unfeasible it is you're clearly a smelly <other side> main 🤡 /s.. kinda at least.
At the same time I wouldn't say playing both sides makes someone's opinion inherently more valid though. Someone with deep knowledge of one side can still have very valuable opinions and insights on the game that you might not get elsewhere. No surprise if they're a bit biased, but everyone's biased to some extent. As long as someone is aware of their bias and can still discuss stuff in a constructive manner that's not inherently a bad thing either really.
Just what i had in mind and you found the right words.
If you accept or even like the new ruin you are either a noob that cant hit skillchecks or a filthy surv main / gen rusher or u never played killer in high ranks.
Sadly, reflected arguments often drown in the sea of bias.
