Anyone else remember playing before DH even existed in the game? Those were good times when people didn't say a game is ruined because a perk changed.
Anyways, you can stil ldo well in chase. I havent used DH in years and can get several minutes long chases. DH was a crutch perk. If you are no longer able to play a role because of a perk change that's more indicative of a perk carrying you than skill. The same goes for old NOED for killers.
I'd be totally okay giving DH back to its full strength if killers can get hex ruin back to full strength. Killers lost their must have perk a long time ago (and its worthless now) while DH can still be used.
-
I feel mixed on it. One the one hand I'm glad this will encourage people to use other exhaustion perks but on the other hand I'd rather them buff the other perks than nerf this one. So all in all, I feel meh.
-
Oh I did not realize how much was packed into shattered hope. I genuinely thought it only destroyed totem that had a boon.
Anyways, that's more of what I'd suggest at least. Killers being capable of destroying totems. No need for the other bits

So sorry that a meaningless "I was able to do it before so therefore it's never impossible" didn't make me change my mind
You were saying it's impossible to get a save in those situations. I was sharing that I have personally been able to do it and have had people do it against me. You are speaking in absolutes where a survivor is just completely powerless to the big bad killer at egc.
-
Gens are flying even without BNP so that's kinda irritating. Still winnable games, but you might have to play a little less "fun" to survivor (such as more aggressively defend a hook).
Nice to see healing slowed down.
I do think Haemorrhage effect will likely get nerfed in the next patch. It does feel like a lot with the healing slowdown.
Getting 4ks is still a thing so that's good.
It does feel kinda pointless to target gens nowadays which is a shame. The gen regression nerfs do make it feel like I have less choices in how I approach a match which is shame.
Survivors giving up seems like it's increased

This is YOUR opinion. How can you speak for everyone when you say noone wants this. You keep ignoring the boon totem and changing % idea in your hypothesis therefore it's very obvious you just like shutting things down and telling people their ideas suck.
Well it seems like no one else agrees. If you aren't open to what others have to say on here it probably wasn't worth posting the idea. Anyways, see ya around
-
Many people, including myself, played DBD for years without CoH. It's really not needed
-
Starting killer has always been a nightmare for people. It's kinda the nature of the game (unfortunately).
I find some of the more simple killers are good to learn with first even if you don't stick with them longterm (such as wraith, Legion, or cannibal). You can carry over a lot of principles onto many other killers just learning on the simple killer first. For example, I played nurse for essentially the first time and in both games I played I got a 4k. I built around not being able to use her blinks well and used them to increase my basic movement and decrease attack cooldown.
As far as survivors go, you'll have that. More experienced people still get them and it's tough. It just takes some time to learn and you can beat several of the bully squads over time
-
If only there were a perk you could utilize to heal your with....
-
Hatch is meant to be a neutral target for both the last survivor and killer to be equally capable of getting. If you make the blue print secret it kinda removes the point of having it be a neutral target for both.
And yes the spawn even without blueprints don't often go in a reasonable place. I had a case with a survivor a week or so ago where the hatch spawn literally where they were standing in the loop I was chasing them in. No blueprint or anything given

2 votes up for posting opinion with no facts. Well done.
Fact 1. No one enjoys being slugged, especially for a prolonged period of time.
Fact 2. Being alive longer doesn't equal having fun in the game, if it did people would just tap gens and hide in lockers in basement. Maybe it technically leaves you alive longer as a survivor but people already intentionally die or DC if they get hurt early. Waiting for the bleed timer, then to be hooked, then to be saved would take longer than eating the DC penalty.
Fact 3. This goes directly against killers goal of hooking survivors.
Fact 4. This would encourage more slugging focused gameplay which no one wants. That's a big reason twins aren't popular to most people on either side.
Fact 5. Final survivor would just be left bleeding out until 45%.
Sorry, but this is all around a bad idea and no one wants this. Who would run a perk that forces the killer to slug them for a long time?
-
Both killers and survivors would hate this. This appeals to nobody.
-
Tbh, I'm overall glad healing has been nerfed but I think slowing down hemoraging would be a good move

I can’t screen record on a switch sadly
I totally forgot people on switch played tbh haha.
Anyways, I wouldn't necessarily say a killer wrecking your team is indicative of killers being OP. Sometimes you still get outplayed badly even if you've played the game a lot (I do still and have played both sides a lot for years). Certain killers I tend to think are OP (primarily nurse and blight). Sometimes even a killer who is doing poorly can exploit a single error your tram males to have a domino effects. That's hoe I got 2 back to back 4ks as nurse today despite never playing nurse and playing poorly lol

Congrats on using useless anecdotal evidence of bad killers not knowing how to take advantage of the nonsense that allows them to get a free kill. Playing in a swf with decent players won't allow you to get a 4 out against a camping bubba lol it's not even a conversation
Seems like you are pretty set in your ways. This seems like a waste to go back and forth on. well see ya around.

I enjoy the game just fine. I have almost 1500 hrs in it and play almost daily solo or with friends. I play both sides equally or I wouldn't have the 2M BPs at the end of each cycle to show for it. I also have no issue getting 4K as killer when others run COH and without camping or tunneling, which I don't do. It's not that hard to get away from a killer without looping or flashlight spamming, which I don't do. What's the point of perks if you can't rely on them to work? Yes, gen regression was nerfed, but not to the point that it's obsolete. Kind of like DH nerfed to the point of obsolete, which I didn't and don't use. Never said I'm a pro or a God on either side, just that there was a 50/50 chance survival (more balanced) before perks were changed and to point out that items and add ons don't give you the full amount of use that it's suppose to.
Things that are broken: Blocking/reporting system, Items and ad ons (don't get full use), Perks- tweak, don't completely change to the point of obsolete, Perks-some should not be stacked with like perks on both sides ie: all heal build, all aura seeing builds, all hex builds.
But thank you all for the sarcasm and assuming that you know anything about how I play a game.
No problem. Glad I could point out your bias to you.
Getting the 2m BP means nothing. It's not hard to red get rank 1 in a month. Infact. I'm already in iridescent for both sides for this new month.
Most gen regression is in fact obsolete. Dh is also not obsolete. You still get 2 uses, which few people successfully used it more than that anyways.

BHVR is balancing game around SWF now but they are not getting Solos into SWF level. So yeah solo and casual players will have pain in this game now. This game is not for them anymore. BHVR does not care about them.
My suggestion is just play killer. At least you won't be stomped every match. Most of your matches you will chill and have fun.
Yeah its a tough balance. It would be good to bring up solo players to the same level as swf but it's hard to do that without also buffing swf. I don't really have the answer on how to do that

For people who play the game almost daily, they usualy complete the battlepass before the 4th tome challenges are even opened.
I think having over 2 months for active players even casuals is fine and rememeber there are also offten weekend events or codes for extra fragments.
If you can't complete the rift after like 2,5 months then you don't play DbD offten and then you probably don't care about the skins and rifts anyway (or at least you shouldn't imo if you barely play the game, why bother spending $ on it, Its like burning money).
I do really wish the rifts were timeless though and you could get old rewards...but I get why that's not the case
-
Granted I haven't looked at each perk super in depth, they aren't that interesting if I remember correctly. The survivor shook neat though and I like that they are connected. I'd like to have a couple someday as the survivors in a chapter.
Now skull merchant her perks aren't that great and she is bith boring to play as and play against. Drop 3 drones on 3 gens and either sit until the end if the match or do typical m1 chases. She's the least interesting killer to be released (other than maybe twins) when on paper she should be cool. Easily worst chapter but I'm still overall enjoying the game.
-
85 days does seem reasonable. Some people will finish the rift in a couple weeks, but I imagine that's not most people (and im sure people can work on the archive still for the most part)

That could be a good option as well (and the killer is given the ability to smash dull totems)

I never felt like it was a funny party game in the 6 years I've played. Its always been competitive feeling just by the very nature of a 4v1 game.
I do agree nurse is obnoxious since 95% of survivors tools don't work on her. You can do well with if you aren't experienced with her. I got 2 4ks today back to back using her and I've never played her. I'm also on console

I mean, I stand by it, but maybe with an added "Pentimento clause" XD
Lol also fair.
-
I havent had that bad of luck personally and I only play solo when doing survivor.
I use lithe, quick and quiet, prove thyself, and the 4th perk I alternate a bit but use alert a lot. Items I mix up.
I recommend trying out some other perks though. Try prove thyself over we'll make it since its similar while giving more benefits in other areas, quick and quiet or dance with me rather than lightweight since they compliment lithe better, and maybe try something to replace bond. I fond having information on the killer to be good which is why I like alert. You could also try fogwise. If you aren't good with skillchrcks consistently Maybe try spinechill
-
Played 2 games as nurse on ps5 (I've never played nurse but she is tier 3). Got a 4k both games. Ran with the addon for only 1 blink, sloppy, noed, nurses calling, and STBL. I was primarily a basic m1 killer and got them due to them being very altruistic.
As survivor, mostly having teammates give up on first hook so the usual solo play. I survived a few games out of the 5 I played.

@HugTheHag said:
Shattered Hope is weird in that it is too situational to be a perk worth bringing, but it's too strong to be base kit.
I think the perk itself should be buffed to make it worth bringing even if it turns out there is no or few boons in the game, like making it be able to break dull totems to see the aura of another totem placement (making it a killer version of Counterforce) + bloodpoint score event for breaking dull totems, in Deviousness as you are outsmarting survivors by depleting their resources.
That way, it hard counters boons because anytime you go by a dull totem you can remove it as a possible boon location.
I could see this being a good solution at least worth trying out
-
@Nirgendwohin said:
sure, but make boons mapwide, same noise level as hexes and the killer has to spend 14 seconds to break it.
This just isn't a realistic comparison. Mapwide 5 second heals is certainly better than 95% of hexes.
-
The biggest things I don't like are
1. CoH speed buff is too much. It really didn't need that much of a buff tbh.
2. Pain res is too situational now
3. Medkits should have varying charges with higher rarity having more charges.
The rest I like overall though
-
@jesterkind said:
Nope.
It's only even potentially in the running for discussion because of CoH. If that perk didn't exist, it'd be more clear why that's not a good idea- boons are designed around being in the middle of the action, for the most part, so the killer always has the option to snuff it - and the survivor always has the risk of it being snuffed. Shadow Step and Dark Theory are straight up useless outside of chase (more or less, the aura hide is somewhat useful outside of chase), and Exponential wants to at least be near the action so you don't waste a ton of time crawling to its range, so if those totems broke on snuff it would severely harm them in terms of strength and in terms of the back-and-forth slowdown of it being reset multiple times.
CoH broke that concept by being both worlds stronger than the other three, and shining most when it's set up away from the action, making going out of your way to snuff it not worth the time investment the way it would be were the totem right where you were already chasing someone.
Frankly, I don't know that Shattered Hope should exist period, even as a perk. It's a pretty hefty sledgehammer to take to the boon mechanic, and it's useless if there aren't any boons in play.
Yeah I feel torn on this. I'd be all for buffing the other boons if there was counterplay to them other than the perk slot for killer. How would you feel if there was a buff to each boon to be about where CoH is now? Would that be fine to have a limit on number of boons you can create (either a token system or killer can destroy).
I don't really see killers using shattered hope at all honestly since it is so situational (and it's not even that good honestly since they can just make a boon somewhere else)
-
@Shroompy said:
If it does, Id prefer to have the choice to either snuff or break the totem
I think I know where you are going with this, but why would you want a choice? Is there any reason to not always destroy it?
-
For me, I think shattered hope ought to be base kit. If survivors can destroy a hex I think a killer ought to be able to destroy a boon. Yes, hexes are more powerful overall but you get no control on where it spawns and you only get it once while survivors get unlimited uses of a boon and can place them anywhere.
I think we will still need to see how boons go after this patch, but killers do seem pretty powerless in addressing them other than snuff out which is a waste if time most of the time
-
I mean...there aren't many left to nerf tbh
-
CoH did not need the significant altruistic healing buff it got in the patch
-
If you want to heal yourself so bad, run a medkit or a self care.
2 full self heals with a medkit is plenty.
Circle of healing was busted and you didn't play killer enough to realize that it seems.
I do like how you act as if killers lost nothing in this patch when every meaningful regression perk got gutted.
-
Man...all of this because your entire team can't self heal in 10 seconds...yeah seems like this isn't your game then. Take care

With 3 x 25% gen regression its quite possible i say.
This is also assuming you get the full value of each hook which is pretty unlikely in that short of time (not actually getting 25% right away)

STBFL makes endgame camping free bc of the very short cooldown, making catching up and dealing with body blocking absurdly easy
With bubba and huntress you completely ignore the issue, with the only counterplay being leaving the person to die because there's no actual counterplay to rescue them. They shouldn't be able to get 1ks for free.
Trickster again u ignore the issue, he is weak but he still can get a 1k for free, that is a stupid way of balancing a killer
Spirit can catch up easy and negate bodyblocking, her being easy to read has nothing to do with it.
Overall you're completely ignoring the issue while also referring to going down EVER as an "error," it is not, literally any killer can get a single hook. These killers can currently get 1ks for free just by camping the hook, that is ridiculous period.
If you expect killers to be unable to get a single hook in the game you are just playing the wrong game. None of those situations you brought up are free hooks. Killers worked for the hook (which is why a survivor is there). There is still counterplay available as a survivor even in solo play. I've rescued countless survivors against those killers and perks. You are really overestimating killer in those situations. Play swf with coms with decent players and you won't have any of these issues.
Also, use hope or were gonna make it and that let's you save much more quickly
-
@Iamtheonlysalad said:
I think this perk needs a major buff and this is not only speaking as a survivor point of view. Even when I play killer it is too easy for me to down the survivor again after I get stunned for 3 seconds. This really needs to be a longer stun because honestly it just saves you like 5 more seconds of life before you get hooked again. Honestly I feel like even having decisive strike as base kit with the 3 seconds would help the survivors get tunneled less. This game should try to discourage tunneling and hook camping. It has been impossible for me to even get to gold tier.
Gold tier isn't too hard honestly. Try to focus on improving areas you arent so good at. Try being more altruistic if need, do more gens if needed, or learn to get better at looping. That will help you a lot in getting into higher tiers.
Now for DS, I disagree with it being basekit. Punishing killers isn't going to be the solution to keep people around nor is it enough to get people to change. Maybe add a score bonus (something like old BBW BP bonus) to a perk that incentives you to hook a new survivor could be good
-
@Steakdabait said:
literally none of those perks were buffed?
I think they mean those perks are more valuable now largely due to other perks being nerfed or game mechanics changing. So yes, not a buff, but they might be more useful now
-
And I agree, video would be more meaningful than a random picture. I'm sure there is a reason there would be hooks that quickly
-
@mustdogen said:
Do you have video?
I really wonder how well the killer play that can make 7 hooks without any gen done.
Literally how?
Even if only one of you do gen
The killer still has to get 7 hook in 90sec.
It's certainly possible. I did several times b efore this patch, but this did often include people intentionally advancing hook states. Mostly playing something like scratched mirror myers and downing some edge lord running no mother build in the first 20 seconds does it (which I did today)
-
@RpTheHotrod said:
Revert all our regression nerfs, even the old ones, and you got a deal.
Exactly. People on both sides aren't willing to give a little to get a little. You can't just ask for killers to get nerfs and survivors to get basically none and call that "balanced" if the medkits and boons didn't get changed (which boons should still get nerfed honestly)
-
DH I feel torn on. I think it's good that other perks are going to be used more frequently than they were but I don't like the way they went about it with the nerf.... I'd rather strengthen other perks than nerf them into the ground (and I don't think DH is nerfed into the ground, but that's typically been the trend).
-
I'd rather get stomped on than have my back to back games of a bad killer dcing after last gen gets done....

Bubba, stbfl, oni, huntress, trickster, nurse, spirit, blight, basement, literally just hook trades. Bubba camping the hook is not "outplaying" just because of the result it yields, don't have so much confidence in a game like this rewarding skill lol
Stbfl is fine and impacts the entire game. No one would argue it ruins end game
Bubba isn't an end game issue. Yes he camps but that's ever present. If you get sawed down you made an error, therefore you didn't play perfectly. You shouldn't try to go for the save and if you get sawed down doing it that's on you as a survivor.
Huntress same thing as Bubba. That's in you.
Trickster is weak and not an issue for end game. I'd rather face him than most other killers in end game.
Blight and nurse are just busted in general.
Spirit is is easy to read now.
Only nurse and blight I'd give you is busted. The rest is 100% on the survivor for dying or getting downed. The other killers you mentioned are not that strong. If you want a counter to those things use "Hope" and you'll be good to go if it's not a skill issue of course
-

They're entitled to free escapes if they get the gens done and play the endgame right, but rn even if they play the endgame right there's still sometimes nothing they can do
That's not true. If they die in the end it's because they were outplayed. Simple as that. Give me a scenario they can't possibly do anything in the end
-
@1ettuce said:
I don't think it's unreasonable for me to wish endgame meta was replaced with something more interesting than just the killer sitting by the hook. It's the best decision but it's also just lazy if we're being honest
It doesn't have to be that way. I've played several games as killer and not played that way at egc and won. It largely depends on who the killer is

He isn't overhyped or overrated, otherwise everyone would talk about and play him.
His Add-ons are hot garbage, that we can agree on. I did a pass on his entire kit on my discussion page.
He is still one of the best zoners out there, often times leaving Survivors with no other options than dying if the Killer is competent.
I won't talk to much about flicks as they're probably a bug but those make his PotD far less predicable. Other than that, pallets aren't safe against him so that makes him automatically better than most. Other than that, his PotD still has potential to get even the best Survivors, alone from his threat of zoning, it'll often times leave Survivors defenseless.
His cages are overrated but still offer a tunnelling option some other Killers don't get.
Anways, I'd still say he's a decent mid A Tier Killer with a strong basekit power.
Yeah id agree with this...he probably has the worst addons of any killer tbh.
