Love that everyone can describe how he works, and people still come in complaining that he's broken.
If you're so positive that he doesn't work, get footage of it and give it to the support team in a bug report. It'll do way more than just complaining that he doesn't instantly break shroud as soon as you become aware of him.
-
Feel free to stop playing the game if you don't want to play the game. The DC penalty will even make it easier for you. The penalty is specifically there to punish people like you.
-
The killer has priority closing the hatch, and you don't need to be in a particular position to close it. You just need to make sure you have an inch behind the killer so the game can put you in the proper position for the animation.
-
Intended. You're doing the wrong thing to reveal him. Learn how he works and you'll be able to consistently reveal him whenever you want. There's also add-ons that make it harder to reveal him. Learn how to run instead of standing in front of him, and he won't even be able to use his one-shot.
I'm sure you'll get better eventually.

lol, do I look like I care for your opinion? am sure programmers who coded this game can get logs of DCing, so I didnt really need your opinion, but thanks for the input anyway :)
They can see that you DCed, but they can't see what you did on your end. If you feel this is a bug, report it to the support team. The forums won't be able to do anything for you besides give you people to complain to.

Lol. If you sit in the corner that only makes getting an iridescent evasion emblem even easier because all they need to do is continuously circle around you and that counts as a chase. We may not get a benevolent emblem but we can farm a hell of a lot of points from an afk killer.
It doesn't count as a chase if they're facing the wall.
-
Never forget that the devs want you to play Civ instead of this game.
-
Yup. The devs forgot, apparently from the beginning, which role is supposed to be more powerful. But hey, at least the devs can rest easy knowing that they'll have a bunch of survivors super pleased with themselves sitting in 10+ minute queues and talking about how stupid killer players are.
-
The devs aren't forcing killers to stop playing. Killers are just deciding that the game isn't fun to play anymore, and are finding better things to do with their time. When every match requires you to be perfectly focused, while the other team can just mess around and still win, it's no surprise that people decide that it's a waste of time to keep going.

Had a match earlier against two OoO users who took us to Autowreckers, while I was Hag. I can tell you that it wasn't a pleasant experience.
But hey, don't forget that they'll nerf a dozen killer perks because they're not fun for survivors.

As previously side, im one side deaf, it doesn't seamd to be any directional :\
Ah. Yeah, that would make things way harder. I'm sorry, and I genuinely hope the devs find a way to improve accessibility with this game.
-
I'm very curious about how they would handle DLC if they enable cross-save. I know a few games make you buy DLC multiple times on different platforms because they have to pay a fee for each DLC given for free. Maybe they could get around it since you can earn most characters in-game, and their access isn't tied directly to owning the DLC? But then, what happens for the DLC that's free on one platform, but not another, like Doctor and Hag?

Stopped playing like a months go. And now with the new Division 2 expansion dropping this week, guess I'll be staying away for a long time.
Glad it's not just me. I didn't expect to enjoy Division 2 half as much as I am, but it was hard to justify skipping it for just $3. I'm seriously considering whether to pick up the expansion when it drops. I'm thinking I'll hit level cap and see how I feel then, and grab it if I'm still wanting more.

Also laughing with each other on comms in real time.
Yup. When the game is handed to you without needing to do anything, and the devs encourage you to cheat if you still don't feel that's easy enough, what would they have to complain about?
-
The devs said they planned on making it so DCed survivors just stand in one place at the same time the DC penalty was rolled out, but I guess that didn't happen.
-
The devs have said they won't be changing gen times because they're worried that survivors will get bored. Much better for killers to have no say in how a match goes than for survivors to have to figure out how to do anything besides pump out gens, after all.

Vacuum cleaner with no directional clues? Hello? She could be Anywhere?
The vacuum has always been directional.

I agree, he is by far the worst killer in the game, IMO. His power is just too weak, and not very fulfilling. The idea of his character, having 4 people to play as is really cool and innovative. It's just really a shame they made him so weak with the nerf. He Definitely needs a buff or rework. He's too easy to win against, and too hard to win with, and use correctly. Not fun at all.
Seriously, they could've done so much with them, and yet the devs just made them into Jeff the Killer: middle school edgelord edition.

you are just making my point, she can spot you by being completely invisible and you have no counter play to this. That means: Unbalanced or Over Performing
Bro, she carries a vacuum cleaner behind her when she phases toward you outside her TR. If you can't figure out how to hide when you hear that, it's a you problem.
-
This is asked every few days. It won't happen.
-
Good to know that even the survivors aren't enjoying the game anymore. Even when you're given a free win if you're not the first person found, it still sucks for that one person that gets left behind.

I'm interested to see if there will be an alternate rework of Hangman's Trick, as the original PTB version is apparently not going live.
Probably do something like expose a survivor that sabotages a hook more than 50m from the killer for 15 seconds.
-
@B1rdman said:
No I agree with this. Even when you do know how to play against a spirit. I've had some killers find me when I was hidden they were around halfway across the map and I wasnt making any noise (grass, hurt or scratch Mark's and they phased right to me. That's either some extremely good luck or the player was cheating. As far as I know when the spirit phases she cant actually see the survivors just scratch marks. So how did that killer find me. And it happens quite a bit
Survivors still breath when standing still. You are never completely quiet. They also could have used an aura perk to find you. Learn how the game works, and you'll figure out how a killer found you without instantly jumping to the idea that they're cheating.
-
@B1rdman said:
That's the alternative or options? Hide and possibly give away your location from cabinet noise or run and give away your location with scratch Mark's.
The fact that the Doctor can radius shock me from what seems like 30 yards away is way to much. And a 60 second cooldown time between is nothing for such an over powered attack. It shouldnt be as big as the killers terror radius. It should definitely be downgraded to like 20ft/7yds.
You'll get better at the game as you play it. Just keep trucking and you'll figure out how things work. I believe in you, and I know you'll eventually reach rank 15.
-
Hey, at least they're fixing this issue by hiding rank soon. Can't complain about matchmaking if you can't see who you're matched up with, after all.
-

I don't mind the time but just remove DS effect if they do objective gens etc and during EGC.
Heck, change the timer to stunning for ten minutes if you can keep people from using it as a free stun without any risk.

or you could record a match where the killer isnt seen once the entire round and the end chart reveals its a wraith...
Watching something that long wouldn't be funny.
-
It is not. The survivor will die eventually if they're left on the ground. Holding the game hostage means that the game will never end naturally.
-

AFKing is bannable after all.
all you need is some video evidence and you're good.
I love this idea. Just record footage of an empty tile, send it to support, and say that it proves that the wraith was AFKing.
-
I've asked Peanits about this directly a few times, since it keeps coming up. He has so far decided not to respond to any questions about it.
-
Personally, I quit playing a few weeks ago. I'm keeping an eye out for any patch notes that make me feel like any of the major issues have been resolved before trying again.
-
Contact Support if you have any questions regarding bans. The link to the support site is on the right bar, under Useful Links.

It's been out for a few months in some countries. It works fine. It's not necessary, but it's nice for the people that want it.

@Mr_K said:
The issue will go away once they remove rank from the end screen.
Yep, as soon as rank is hidden, then we won't be able to complain about rank, since we can't see it! Problem solved!

@Dreamnomad said:
It doesn't feel right. Killers aren't survivors.
Agreed. The Entity, since the killers are acting as its avatar in the fog, should reward killers with items based on performance. It shouldn't even be a question, if you even get a safety, you should be rewarded. At least that'll kinda offset survivors being able to get an item and two add-ons for free every match, and then getting to keep the items whenever they escape with the next patch.
-
Seriously, four shocks with doctor, or two and a blast, should take enough time for him to land them that the other three survivors can finish a gen. If not even one person in the match could drag out a chase that long, then you bunch simply didn't have the skill to win. You'll have to accept that you'll sometimes lose because the other team knows more about how to play.
-
Match speed. Nothing else matters because, as killer, I don't even get the chance to really play the game before the match is over. What's the point of even booting up if I get three or four chases, hook people maybe twice, and then the gens are done?
-
@lynelmane said:

As I mentioned in the OP, we didn't 3-gen ourselves. The map was small and he had distressing and kept using static blast. It was impossible to do anything because he would just come and shut it down and down people.
If he was downing, then the match will end naturally. If he was letting survivors wiggle off his shoulder, then they can work on gens. Snap Out progression is now stored, so you can always just pocket it until the next static blast, and then he has to wait a minute before another one, letting you finish ~80% of a gen solo.
-
No. It's a viable build, and the match can still end normally. If the killer isn't hooking people, just stay on a gen and force him to knock you down and bleed out. The survivors have full control over how long this situation goes, and they should've tried to not 3 gen themselves.
-
I love the insistence that new perks have to be The Best to be worth using. Maybe consider how, if you can safely predict three out of the four perks that every survivor will use, maybe they're too strong? So many words are wasted expressing how much DS can ruin every single killer match, just to be met with the mantra of "Don't tunnel and you won't be DSed!", as though a minute is a reasonable amount of time to have to ignore another player, especially when the full point of the role is to chase and kill those same players. Heaven forbid that you're actually decent at chasing someone, and punishing them for being bad at hiding. Or even worse, punished for just hitting the person who's crouching in front of you specifically because they know they have a get-out-of-jail-free card.
You just have to make it so the meta perks are in line with the rest of the perks that are released. It's not interesting to only see five or six perks out of all the ones available in every single match.

Why is the title "Hex: Ruin"?
Anyway, Gens are boring, why not a more interactive way to longer the matchtime?
The devs have said they don't want to add secondary objectives or additional mechanics to the game, so I think that's a dead suggestion.
-
I'll be honest, I think the wiggle progression from the survivor should be removed if this change goes forward. Otherwise, the killer can be placed into positions where they have absolutely no less-bad moves they can take. And it never feels good to know that you'll be screwed regardless of what you do.
-
Moris are never toxic. They're a way to assert pressure, and a mechanic in the game. Use them whenever you want.
If you're asking what would feel fair for the survivors, a mori will never feel fair to them. They feel they should always have a say in how the match goes and whether they die, regardless of how poorly they play, individually and as a group.

What isn't fun about winning most of your games with ease and not being afraid of the guy trying to kill you? It's relaxing.
The only thing that sucks is just how often I see Mori's in my games. So I guess I don't have anything to complain about survivor wise.
I mean, is it actually fun to not have to try? Most games feel like a foregone conclusion once three gens pop, typically just after the first hook. I don't know, it just felt like a waste of time to even have to do the last two gens in most games since the killer could only hassle one of us at a time.

Incorporate dismemberments?
Incorporate a killer who excels at jump scares (I know there’s scratched mirror Myers, but I mean someone where that’s his base M.O.).
Incorporate environmental tension (steam pipes burst in your face sometimes. Meteors crash by your feet on occasion. Floors unexpectedly crumble and fall with you, even though you’ve run across that spot 5 times before with no trouble. 2-5 windows on each map have broken glass shards - Use them at your own risk. On and on...)
Incorporate predatory wildlife
Incorporate opportunistic features. Tools around the map that might help you, but might also fail you when you need them most. Thorny bushes that conceal you, but also injure you. This increases feelings of desperation.
Incorporate lasting injuries. Broke your ankle? I recommend stealth over boldness! Got your hand chopped off? Maybe working gens isn’t your strength this match.
Running into things should hurt (but not injure). Have you ever hit a barn wall with your face at full speed? I think I would be stunned for a moment!
BTW, where applicable, these suggestions should apply to both roles. (Imagine the killer fighting off a coyote. He tries to injure and scare it rather than kill it so that it can still pressure survivors too!)
Not sure how the rest of this stuff would work, but I like the idea of survivors entering the match with a random injury/illness that affects how they play. Maybe make it be related to stuff that happened in the previous match?
No way it'll ever happen, but it would be a fun way to make each match as survivor feel a little different.
-
The downed survivors will eventually bleed out. If the killer then refuses to kill the last person, they can work on gens and escape, or be downed and bleed out. The match will end naturally eventually.
