Disagree on Hag.
Very good Hags have extensive knowledge of each map and amazing chase Hags can to POV tricks with their traps to near guarantee hits.
That takes a lot of experience and skill and has good results.
-
First off, I wouldn't tie anything to the old invisible number.
Secondly, players, including killers, need consistency in speeds to calculate what plays they can afford to make. Healing being slower by "don't know how much" or gens regressing at the rate of "don't know how much" would be terrible.
And showing mmr would not even solve this issue, because first, survivors don't even see killer in lobby so they wouldn't know, or if they did, might dodge. Killers would also dodge high mmr groups, and survivors might lower their mmr to escape nerfs, which would make a comically skewed balance with lots of lower mmrs survivors and lots of higher mmrs killers.
I'm not convinced !
But I like the idea of making the game more manageable without impairing low mmr survivors.

Okay, prepare for some searing hottakes:
- Legion isn't that unfun to play against
- Dead Hard is still going to be a top tier perk next patch; it will be just like in 6.1, its usage rate will plummet and then recover over time
- Both sides should be able to see if and which Survivors are in a SWF group, in the lobby
- Skill Checks would need to be reworked into an RNG mechanic to balance Perks involving them
Fat disagree on the SWF being visible on lobby (postgame would be fine ig)
But upvote 'cause you're the only one I'm seeing giving some love to my guys Legion =D

i agree that hag is going to be really tough to play with the new changes now but hey legion should thrive just use the legion pin to counter med kits like usual
I'm more worried about Resilience and my power giving survivors more gen speed than healing.
Survivors healing mean they're wasting a ton of time and are grouped up, which works in my favor.
Plus I tend to play Mural and Sketch to get those 5 chain hits so healing doesn't really matter in that scenario either.
That's why I'm a bit worried haha !
-
It won't change anything in my builds as I don't usually bring exhaustion perks or regression perks beyond Jolt.
I expect there will be less killers for a few weeks, before they eventually get over it, like we had with survivors post 6.1.
I also expect a lot more tunneling as killers will feel entitled to it in response to the changes, and in response to that see more PT and genrush perks (again, like 6.1.). Probably lots of Resilience, which makes me a bit nervous as a Legion main.
CoH will probably be used a fair amount still, because +100% is way, way too much and they should have kept it at 50% or maybe 70% since they changed back the altruistic heal duration.
Playing Hag will be miserable so I'll refrain for a while.
I'll probably let the dust settle before playing again and focus on animation and other games for a while. Everyone being on edge and sweaty is not my vibe.
-
I hate Whiskers as well. Not that he's too strong or what, it's just the combo of overrated license (in my opinion, but people are free to like what they like), frequently seeing him, obnoxious TR I've heard way too much and that is freaking everywhere on the map, voice lines, and my swf friend being a huge fanboy.
Oh, and also frequent tunneling. Though it came to mind after the rest. I might be too aggravated on small details.
Would rather face a decent Nurse, but would still take him over a Deathslinger or Oni.

I did play ghostface today after long time and versed low level survivors so I went for 8 hooks before killing anyone giving them chance to win. so many killers would play fair if it would be the power role. Some do tunnel no matter what happens but im fine it getting nerfed if killers get buffed overall.
Oh, if tunneling was hard nerfed I wouldn't mind BHVR going wild with killer buffs.
Hopefully with killer-specific buffs as to not buff too much those that are already in a very nice place without tunneling, and give some well-deserved QoL and power buffs to weaker killers.
And map balancing / toolbox nerf too.
I won't go as far as saying the game would be in a nice place after that, because if not tunneling/gen rush/busted maps, players will probably always find a meta to use and abuse.
It might be closer though !

It allowed playing more fair agains't lower players so I see it win/win for everyone else expect good survivors who actually had to bit work for the win but that's not fair they should have ez wins.
I won't pretend to know how it's like for skilled survivors against Oni and vice versa, but I will say though that I personally don't believe in "if you buff killers they play more fairly". I see how people can have that opinion but I personally don't share it.
-
I'd love to see it maybe gain another effect like adding a couple more scourge hooks to the map.
It would incentive to use multiple SH perks and that might be fun.
-
- Most content creators (yes, even famous 'wholesome' ones) are out of touch with casual players and cultivate toxic competitive mindsets. Plus, they entertain the illusion that what they face with their own chosen restrictions is representative to the one (1) truth of the game.
- Content creators shouldn't be consulted for balance.
- Hag is a very fun killer. She has too many counters though (especially after her nerf), and should be made 115% already.
- Voice lines are annoying (exception made for Pinhead).
- I don't care about licensed chapters.
- Tier lists are annoying.
- Just because a killer can't be picked up and 4'k consistently within a couple days doesnwt mean it needs buffs. Looking at you, PTBs where everyone is outraged within the first week.
- Killers shouldn't be able to 4'k consistently, just like survivors shouldn't be able to escape consistently. It's called balance for a reason.
- Winstreakers deserve all matchmaking throws their way. If you do a long winstreak and then complain about sweaty opponents it's 100% on you.
- Playing very fair and letting the last / couple last survivors go makes for a fun match for both sides and anchors you in a fun mmr niche where you can run things you like over meta.
- Most players are not toxic. Tell your survivors they did well in endgame chat and most times they'll return the compliment.
-
Solidarity : prevents you from being hemorraged
The thing that breaks boons permanently that I currently cannot remember the name of because it's 5am and my brain only supplys the name Devour Hope : Breaks dull totems too, to be able to completely counter boons. You gain a deviousness score bloodpoints for breaking dull totems, because you're anticipating the survivors actions, and that way it's not entirely useless if survivors didn't bring boons.
Probably tons of others but some have already been mentionned

Oni bug was 100% fine and should stayed. It made him more viable agains't good survivors and balanced. He was still with it way weaker than blight and nurse.
Wasn't fine against the lower half of players, so it wasn't 100% fine
Plus I feel like something making a killer less strong than nurse and blight is not a very compelling argument...
That's certainly an opinion though
-
Does crouch tech even really work ?
I personally don't try because I don't want killer to think I'm teabagging them.
-
I've played survivor yesterday evening / early this morning, and games have been pleasantly random on my end.
I've had a very sweaty Blight tunneling ruthlessly and 4K'ing, and a couple of games later a very gentle beginner Pinhead.
Might be unlucky ?
-
I was indeed playing drunk yesterday, to honestly okay-ish results !
Got my ass handed to me a couple of times, but escaped a few games too. Met the most adorable Pinhead, very wholesome <3

Where are you finding these people? I love to play games were I can hook everyone twice and let them leave but I rarely get survivors "being chill and fun" back. Not complaining just saying I don't see this much like you do.
The secret to it might just be being low skill and hanging out with very casual survivors, haha.
Joke aside, I'm just pretty lucky. My friend, who has about same skill as I do, pretty much always gets teabaggers and mean comments. We don't understand the logic behind it, but I'm not complaining !
-
As a casual in both roles, I'd say it's because killer feels a bit easier to pick up. When you play killer casually, you'll still do well because your opponents are also casual and starting out. Survivor is a bit harder to get the hang of, having to learn tiles and timings and messing up a great deal before becoming close to decent at it. Survivor mistakes are very unforgiving, whereas when playing against casual teams, killer messups have less effect.
So you've got one role that's doing ok as casual and one role that's struggling as casual.
At least, that's my experience. And that of most people I've talked to who've played this game.
-
They didn't killswitch Oni when he was glitched with double blood orbs (cough cough AOT cosmetics cough), so their definition of gamebreaking is pretty flexible.
They didn't kilswitch Twins either throughout their "frozen in place all match" glitch if I remember correctly, so maybe it's only game breaking if a certain % of players are affected ? Merciless Storm is not exactly a popular perk.
-
I don't know what answer you're looking for !
I play too nice by killer standards, but that's because it's how I like to play. Survivors are happy that I give them a chance, I'm happy with them being chill and fun in return, we get cute endgame chats, works for everyone involved. =)
-
Probably play both but enjoy one more
-
I'm bad at looping pallets and I'm extra bad at looping windows.
Might as well preserve what I'm the least worse at !
-
I mean, if killrates show she needs, she'll probably get it in the next 5 months (I hear BHVR generally waits a few months for people to get used to the new killer and buff based on killers knowing how to play her / survivors knowing how to play against her rather than on stats tampered with survivors not knowing the killer at all).
I only faced her once in live version and I was surprised by her stealth potential. Like, she doesn't have a small TR by base but many many times she jumpscared my friend and I because anytime she goes thtough a drone zone she gets undetectable to survivors and it stays a couple seconds later. (I thought it was only active drone zones but either her TR is super quiet or even scouting mode give her some undetectable).
Maybe there's something to do with like, Monitor and Abuse or something to play further in the surprise factor.
Anyway. I don't particularly look forward to seeing more of her but I'm curious to learn how to play against her beyond apparently being super attentive when next to drones.
-
I think 99'd gates are a valid strategy, just like 99'd gens are.
It doesn't prevent hostage situations or standoffs, as the killer can open them anytime, so endgame collapse still does its work.
And it allows a little more time for coordination to teams that might not have it on comms. If the gate was 99'd, it doesn't remove all risk. The survivor on hook is still getting closer to death any second. Or closer to being downed if they're in chase.
I think it's a little bit exaggerated to say 99'd gates are so powerful or unfair or such.
I could definitely see a perk attributed to regressing the switch progress, it would be super niche but that doesn't usually stop BHVR.
-
Yeah... That's a no for me.

I have the same issue with killers dc'ing as I do survivors dc'ing - which is people dc over the smallest thing that went wrong or because something happened they didn't like and then the game becomes a waste of time for everyone. This is a both sides problem.
It can take a while depending on the time of day to even get a survivor match - so, my time sitting in queue, loading into a lobby, which might take a while if killers dodge, and all for a killer to dc because they got stunned? Also, as a survivor, you also lose addons, you lose your offering as well. It's not about whether or not my chances of winning are harmed, it's about my time I've lost on a match.
That's fair !
-
I don't mind killers DCing. Everyone's free to start a new game, and no one's chances at winning were harmed.
-
I have an irrational dislike for Deathslinger. It's not even that he's strong, his TR just makes me depressed.
-
That huge street is not the funnest as survivor either. There's like 2 pallets there and killer can see you from the other side of the universe.

Although I do think it's weird that trappers traps impact him while freddy and Hag don't trigger their traps. I do find it a bit illogical that he would step on his trap thqt he laid lol (granted that's in the players control but still lol).
I do agree killers should have counter play in their base kit (like Trapper can have his traps disarmed is great) but I think him triggering his own traps is a unique weakness to him (and other killers have some similar example but others don't at all)
Petition to make Trapper be able to walk over his trap, but with like, a super exaggerated animation where he slowly steps over the trap like a cartoon character.
-
I think Trapper's just makes sense logically so it would feel a bit weird if it didn't work that way. Also his grunt is funny.
I think a lot of killers "power going against them" stems from balancing.
Example : Legion not seeing scratch marks and pools of blood while in Frenzy. It gives them counterplay as you can easily lose a Frenzying Legion if they start using their power too early. Otherwise, it'd be too easy to catch up to a survivor and slash them.
Or Ghostface being able to be revealed. Otherwise he could just keep stalking forever and get consistent one hit downs.
I think all killers should have counterplay, but not necessarily have downsides to their powers.
-
Wraith is a paradox for me in that I've never outrun a Wraith that uncloaked to hit me, I always get hit, but when I play as him uncloaking feels so. freaking. slow !

There is almost no character that would get retconned by being confirmed as LGBTQ+? Time stories are just telling more about characters backgrounds and usually not retconn stuff..
Alright !
I'll admit I haven't read everyone's lore, so I'm just like. I wouldn't really like BHVR to do a JKR and pull a "oh yeah remember that character he's gay now" with little actual development.
I'm all for lgbt characters, just not if they're introduced only to placate people on pride month, if that makes sense. =)
-
I think going back and retconning a character as lgbt is a bit lazy, so if there's a new lgbt survivor introduced soon I hope it's low key introduced in their lore in a way that's hopefully natural.
That being said, Haddie's queer and my gf and that's non negociable ! /j
-
I generally hate PvP games, and before playing DbD I'd heard about how toxic its playerbase was, and how people were so prone to insult you or try and make your games miserable.
Upon my first 10 games, I had :
- Trapper apologizing in chat for terminating me early, proceeds to give me tips on how to play
- "Sweaty" Midwich Nurse notices I'm a baby and lets me practice my skillchecks without killing me, gives me the escape
- (As killer) A Jake coming to find me on Midwich after I'm completely lost and giving me a tour of the map, showing me the different ways to go upstairs that I couldn't find before
And in the next hundreds of hours, many, many positive postgame chats. Players being encouraging, praising, or just joking around. A guy I'd never met before offering to coach me and becoming a very good friend since.
The community is a lot less "toxic" than people think. It's just opinionated. =)

I never thought about it that way, and now I can't stop chuckling. It's incredibly silly, I love it ! XD

It does sound very funny !
I really want to love Nurse, I enjoy going against her, but unfortunately playing her makes me motion sick, what with all the looking down every time you're in fatigue.
I might try that in custom games with friends though ! Sounds like I wouldn't be blinking too much X)
-
Plague feels too strong and lacking counterplay to me.
However, I'm no expert and I'm an average at best survivor. Most people seem to argue that she's in a good place right now.
I feel like what you're offering would make her a little bit like Legion or Sadako in that her "full" power would be rarely achieved against good teams, which I don't know how to feel about.
Also, if she had her black vomit for the rest of the game while people are still healthy, that would be a bit broken. That thing is like a machine gun.

Tbh I reported someone for blatent hacking and chat abuse with several Screenshots and a twitch vod for proof and was told that because they weren't on Steam there's no possible way they could've been speaking in endgame chat. It took me three tries of telling them that the evidence is right there in the video and that they are Windows store (and literally finding their profile on my friends Xbox as proof) before they even read beyond the subject line and actually investigated the hacking part at all.
It was a fun experience, that's for certain.
That sounds awful.
-
Mad Grit !
Third Seal is a guilty pleasure of mine too.
I like Spies From The Shadows as well =D
-
Reassurance should be buffed.
If it was genuinely good at countering camping, I'd take it into all my games despite the perk slot it takes.
As it is, with the time it takes to walk up to the hook and back to whatever you were doing (assuming you did manage to use the perk without getting instadowned in some cases), very little value. Especially since it's one per hook instance.
Make it 45s per hook stage and now we're talking.
-
Big agree on : making the pip system more forgiving, but on both roles. Depipping is a relic of the past and achieves nothing.
Big disagree on : killer additionnal perk slots. Killers are already doing well having above 50% killrate, so more perks would only make that rise.
Big agree on : Reworking lower tier killers. I'd love to see some QoL to Clown for example. I'm afraid what they'd do to Hag but I'll also throw her in there. (Though Twins is the prioroty)
As for the "killers should be able to get 2K against any teams and rarely 0K or 4K" : that's just not possible. Survivors become less and less efficient the fewer of them there are, so if you'vre got 2K it generally snowballs into 3Ks and 4Ks.
Kinda disagree on : "1 skilled player against 4 players of equal skill". Not only are those 4 underpowered for it to be balanced, so that 1 roughly = 4 in power, but matchmaking is also kinda dumb. Case in point : yesterday, playing survivor as dummy low skill me, I got paired with a god looper 3k hours Cybil. And the killer, who I happened by chance to rematch right after without Cybil in my team, was good but definitely not to Cybil's level, and was still clearly above mine. Matchmaking is a mixed bag.
I don't think killer can be drastically buffed through base kit, because they're already in a good place (at least as of pre-midchapter) and pretty much all they need in my opinion is low tier killer reworks / QoL, and for toolboxes to get the medkit treatment and be nerfed.

correct as it should be. so why is BHVR write on their own support page that customer support tickets are optional, i.e. proof is optional?
I wish I knew !
But their offences list is probably due for a good refreshing.
I reported someone last year for bodyblocking me in a corner for half the game and the support told me it wasn't ban-worthy because at the time there was no mention of hostage holding on the page and "bodyblocking" was specifically said not to be a bannable offense.
It got dealt with and edited afterwards, so yeah. The support ticket being optional might be a mistake ?
But in any case it's interesting, and definitely deserves being brought up !
-
Myers shouldn't be able to kill in the locker because it removes it's only counterplay during the game.
Might be a dumb idea, but maybe use Agitation + map offering to a map with fewer lockers (I'm sure your local Dredge main will have suggestions) ? Pick them up, use the speed to get far away from lockers, and catch up to them when they break free ?
I haven't tried for the achievement as I don't play Myers yet, but that's what I'd try after a while.
-
They won't ban without proof (as they shouldn't), and proof is video/screenshots.
So reporting griefing or cheating with only ingame report does pretty much nothing (unless chat abuse iirc)
However, it IS necessary to have reported in game when you do a support ticket so that they can check that you have indeed faced the player you're reporting and that you're not just making things up.

I have seen precisely 5 of them in 400h, and one of them had that glitch where they can't move or do anything. =(
-
I mean... Just because they throw Haddie a bone doesn't mean she's coddled.
That being said, I don't think they'll release new big cosmetics for Twins until they get them working smoothly, and not too long ago they had pretty game breaking bugs.
Maybe if there's a Twins rework / pass soon, they'll make a kind of event of it with new skins for them ?
