  • I’ve been dabbling with DD myself but that 30 second timer is a very tight window of opportunity. I didn’t think to mix it with PH’s cages, that is quick and clever enough to maybe give it some value. I’m trying to remember but wasn’t DD getting changed? I need to look back at that list again, I’m starting to forget all the possible perk changes.

  • The perk should have been the Jolt of pallets, as someone else mentioned (I think). Having the survivors needed to double trigger this perk (pallet drop/pallet fast vault) was over-kill. If a survivor goes down within a certain meter radius, then the perk should proc and destroy pallet. If that’s too strong, add a cool-down. At least give a lil control back to Killer, this perk is silly as is lol~

  • I went through my Killer stage too, where I let the Survivors brainwash me into not using perks they don’t like and play in a way they prefer, and it only lead to a miserable time (for me, not them).

    NOED, haha, training wheels!

You know what, I agree, NOED is the training wheels for survivors to actually Do Dem BONES. Give me a break survivors, you literally have all match to prevent this perk from activating. It’s one of those weakest perks in DbD but because it involves you actually doing something other then holding M1 or running around in a circle, suddenly it’s an impossible task and now you have to face the consequences of your own inactions lol.

    ———

NOED isn’t free kills to me either AND if you are in the mindset that it’s Free, then know that you and your whole team were the one that paid for it and then gifted it to the Killer your own damned selves. xD

  • I’m a lil exhausted after grinding those Flans but I can guess a theory. Survivors are warming up to the new changes and are already shifting to adapt. Increase Gen Times? Buff Thana? Pfft, gotta start remembering how this toolbox works and put down my medkit lol.

  • I like masks. I was pretty happy too, wish every Killer/Survivor could have gotten a mask~

  • Be nice if I could solo lobby the map to have the free time to look around and soak it all in. Instead I just stagger around aimlessly and eventually decided that it’s easier and safer to slug yo win on this map. It’s so dumb~

You can at least unhook people against Hag, is the thing. Like, it'll usually turn into a shitshow if the Hag is any good, and you'll be hook trading unless the whole squad comes down to meat shield you, but it's possible to get people out of her basement without happening to have weird perks like Flashbang or Head On equipped or without the killer actively screwing up.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3052693#Comment_3052693

I mean, your sports analogy involved improving yourself and fighting harder next time, not... I don't know, stealing the ball, sitting on it, and telling the next team they couldn't play because you were sick of losing. Or going and breaking one of the next guys' legs and laughing in their face for two minutes because now they can't play. Presumably you were still playing a fair and even game, just with more hunger to win. In DBD-speak, that probably means switching to a killer you're good at, equipping some strong addons, and going in with the kid gloves off.

Basement Bubba is not that. It sidesteps half the gameplay in DBD and removes all the agency to make decisions on the survivor side. It's way too effective for how easy it is to do, it's fun for precisely nobody who doesn't actively enjoy either getting kills handed to them on a conveyor belt while they AFK or who deliberately farm salt, and it should not be a thing.

Also, taking your frustrations out on randos is bad simply because it's not something you want other people to do to you. Just leads to more misery when you're randomly selected to be the outlet for someone else's totally unrelated seething rage. If you don't like strangers coming up to you and punching you in the face, you shouldn't do the same, you know?

Face-camping is me taking the gloves off and playing at the same intensity to win as I was shown, repeatedly, to an embarrassing degree. I don’t agree with you at all that Bubba is equivalent to ‘cheating’. Your sports analogy is either super silly or cheating. It’s already established that using Bubba, is not cheating, face-camping, is not-cheating. I am absolutely still playing fine and fair. You can’t “sidestep” any aspects of the game if every gamer chooses how to play, or maybe you can point me to the DbD rule guide that says you must leave hook and go chase someone else.

Im still not understanding how it’s okay for survivors to play the game how they want, to play as efficiently as they want and stress out the Killer as much as they possibly can (within the appropriate scope of the game) but when we Killers do it its a “terrible” thing. It’s fun, it’s a game, you can do it for whatever reason you want, I just personally do it to relieve some DbD stress while I unwind while playing this silly little game.

You people are not going to guilt trip me for doing nothing wrong and having fun doing nothing wrong. If its so terrible then BHVR would address it but they don’t. If it was so boring then Killers wouldn’t be bothered to do it, but we do. Even if you cry and whine and get your way, people will just create a slug heavy Myers build or something HaHa.

So you like taking out your frustrations on randoms that didn’t do anything because of a previous group.

You say that like it’s a terrible thing? When I played sports and a team handed my ass to me, we didn’t go “okay guys, let’s just remember this for next year.” No, the coach and the team were like, “feel that? That frustrating feeling of losing, of being worse then your opposition, do you hate it? Then, next week, take those frustrations and tackle them head on. Destroy the next team!”

You wanna add a rematch button, I’ll gladly Bubba Facecamp the same teams that destroyed and toyed were th me, until then, yeah, I’ll with a clear concise use the frustrations I gathered and attack some random team with Bubba. Nothing wrong or bad with it~

  • If it wasn’t “fun” then people wouldn’t do it. I have a blast doing it. I’m not hardcore enough to do it consistently but if Survivors are going to be ######### to me, game after game, then I’ll pop on Bubba and facecamp all my frustrations away.

No matter what changes they make to Bubba, you guys should know that Killers will find the ‘best’ way to find the right Killer/Build/Playstyle to create the best experience for Killer and the worst for Survivor.

All your going to do by “fixing” this is create a new problem to cry about xD

Just give it up and accept Bubba for who he is~

    Freddy = Boring???

Have you been smoking the Fog or something? Freddy is one of THE fun Killers in the game!

His weakness is that he acts like a M1 Killer and his power really doesn't offer anything great, other than slowing the Survivors down just slightly or creating fake pallets much like the Doctor.

And do fully use your power against the Survivors, they need to be asleep or the snares and fake pallets wont even be there for the Survivors.

For someone saying Freddy is a fun Killer, your description sounded exactly like everyone else calling him unfun lol.

I would like to go back to Freddy one day, hope BHVR accidentally does something good one day and I’ll start getting my YT recommended box full of titles like (Freddy is Fun Again), (You’ll never Believe how they Fixed Freddy), or (Check out New NEW Freddy now!).

  • My old Main, before the re-work, he really needed his original power cleaned up, but nobody expected the train wreck they gave us. I’ll put him on every so often, after a break and my rank has fallen deep enough to have a tiny bit of fun with his fake pallets, but he definitely hasn’t been the same since the changes and I can barely stomach playing him more then a few matches. Hard to believe at one point he was my only P3 Killer and the only Killer past level one, because he was the only Killer I played and the only reason I downloaded the game.

At this point, I’ve moved on. I need one of three things to return.

    1) Add Robert England skin

    2) Do another another re-work

    3) Bring back Old Freddy

Damn. I was not aware of this, either. I thought it might be good on Legion, but it's not even usable if survivors get notified.

It’s a bright red symbol too. I’m very bad survivor who barely concentrates on hud but the first time I seen that red symbol I knew exactly what was going on. Most obvious perk use I’ve ever seen.

  • If you have Nemesis or Furitive Chase, or purposely find and eat a perk like decisive strike, then you can change the obsession.

Might be worth making a build around the challenge if your struggling so hard~

You are ignoring that most people don't care for BP perks.

If I want to play with interesting build, I'm not gonna restrict my perk choice by using WGLF.

I dunno, that might be true for survivors because they only need to BP grind hard for a new DLC drop and scoop up the new survivor perks to put on their one main survivor. Most Killer mains play with a group of different Killers and we were married to BBQnChilli. I never took it off for 5 years.

I don’t think I’m alone in that either. Trying to take care of multiple Killers was very expensive and wasn’t easy to manage without BBQ.

  • I don’t have a strong opinion on this but can we not pretend like the EGC isn’t helping survivors. Have you tried finding or keeping track of scratch-marks in that glow world? Yeah, make EGC mimic Dredges power but amp it up, suddenly survivors can’t find loops and the door so it’s a ‘problem’. Well I can’t track or hear with everything spitting colors at me, the constant bell ringing and the survivors melting into the world like a group of ghosts.

EGC favors survivors, it is meant more then “forcing” the game to end, it’s meant to be used as a weapon to distract and disorient the Killer and help survivors escape~

  • Plague.

    Patch 2.6.0

    • Quality of Life: once all Pools of Devotion are corrupted, they reset and automatically grant The Plague Corrupt Purge.

    Patch 3.6.0

    ———

Prior to these changes, survivors and killer had more ‘choice’ and diversity in the games with Plague. Originally survivors will hold the choice to cleanse or not, possibly choosing to remain broken and never letting her gain corruption vile.

Later, once any cleansing happens, Plague has the choice of using her Corruption or trying to get every Pool of Devotion corrupted so survivors could no longer cleanse themselves and are forced to remain broken the rest of the match.

The game was a constant change in playstyles and strategies based off of what the other side was doing.

Killer could choose to prioritize her sickness over her corruption and base builds and ideas around her weaker primary power instead of her stronger secondary. Both sides would usually change up their strategy at end game. Like Survivor might choose to refuse to cleanse until all gens are popped so they can instantly heal and try to make end-game saves…or Killer might purposely keep everyone sick until they are at one gen and realize their only chance at a win is to pull a long shot victory and devour one pool of devotion to try and snowball a bunch of one-shot slugs for the V.

    ———

My point being that letting add-ons exist to force the survivors to deal with one/two pools of devotion was more then enough to appease the Plague players who were upset they could never use Corrupted Vile. That and letting survivors abuse the free heals AND THEN ALSO, resetting all Pools so they can do it again, just because Killer doesn’t want or can’t compete with the timed consumption was overkill.

Plague was a very fun experience before the Buff/Quality of Life changes that killed half of her kit. I don’t care about the watery hatchets, I want to spread my sickness and pressure you all to cleanse, just so I can do it again, and keep doing it till you have squandered your advantages and ended up in my forever broken hell.

    RIP my Sickness Mama

  • Did you open the rift to the pants and then forget to click and receive them?

  • Dead by Daylight has so few bugs, the game is almost flawless coding. No…no, the answer must be somewhere.

  • These topics are so depressing but smh, it’s not like BHVR should be blind-siding me by now. I just don’t understand hockey~

  • When a survivor with a flashlight stops being mobile and decides to park in a spot, setting up for the save, your camping. Light up the s’mores! Also, How is that any different then Killer standing still near hook? Wait, we’re you actually slightly moving from spot to spot, then your proxy-camping lol.

  • I mean, I love a good mystery. Was your first hook in basement? Maybe it was basement Hag with Monstrous shrine. Maybe you hit second stage at almost the exact moment of rescue and never realized?

  • @dspaceman20 said:

No one forces ds on anyone. You the killer chose to go after the survivors even if they tried to bodyblock you.

    I didn’t force uou

  • Add this rule to the Survivor Handbook, HURRY!

  • After letting this stew for a bit and getting more info/opinions, I’m no longer happy with this system. I originally thought with a 75% grind reduction, I could finally find time to get all survivor perks, or justify the WGLF/BBQ nerf, or go ahead and P3 all Killers so that I can start strong when new Killer is introduced…

but the changes actually made it harder for me to get all survivor perks, didn’t justify the extra BP bonus being taken away from those two perks and I think it would just sadly be more manageable to Keep 80% of my Killers P1 and just build up the new Killer.

God, why can’t they just do ‘the right’ thing for the community instead of hardballng us. Make extra BP stacks for certain actions free or get rid of tiers…Jesus.

  • I have sinned.

When I was but a younger and more emotional Killer, I would not tunnel out those who looped me over and over again.

    Nay.

I would down you and stand on top of your sad crawling person, watching as you helplessly bled out.

Your friends, they would try to distract me, lure me away, or madly dash in to pick you up, but none of that mattered.

I would soon have you down again, then you’d die and the terrible things you would say…

Oh how I still have and cherish your words!

  • Well, you seem pretty confident that you didn’t hit tier two, so I’ll trust that. If you were the last survivor (not dead and not on second hook) and everybody else was dead or also already on hook fighting stage two, then when you got placed on hook, the game was instant loss and the entity would straight up murder you without struggle.

  • Fire-ups key potential is that it’s stackable. Pair it with either (or both) Brutal Strength/Bamboozle for a real substantial difference. Also people sleep on the, picking up/dropping Survivors. If you are a StarStruck gamer, you don’t have to try and pair it with Agitation, with Fire-Up you can drop quickly and deal with the other survivor without fighting the timer. Also, quicker pickups means easier for you to dodge flashlight saves.

Fire-Up is my lukewarm Killer perk, I like it but it’s not something I can justify without a specific Killer (with natural slowdown) or a build around it. Still nice though.

  • She’s been on the survivor hit-list for awhile, they calm down because of all her bugs and her already substantial power nerf but it never truly went away. This ‘new patch’ is just blood in the water for the survivor nerf frenzy that was bound to happen eventually. They would use any and all twisted reasons to suddenly remind everyone that Nurse is OP and they want her gone. Not allowed to have a fighting chance against survivors~

  • I say no, for obvious reasons (people will abuse it to be toxic). That being said, nothing is more funny to me then hearing a friends screams for help or panic get slowly washed away as I b-line into the opposite direction, choosing to preserve my own livelihood over them. xD

  • It’s almost like the meta is changing.

  • I realize I should start doing so, but I prefer grabbing a item RNG style, from a chest and just play off that. Bringing in an item tends to cheapen the experience for me.

  • Ive seen some on the ground.

  • Well, despite the logical posts against it, I wouldn’t mind. I think more interaction options and team synergy is great. If I was Killer and found two down survivors, one basically holding the other (trying to heal) I’d think Awww, and then rip them apart, feeling giddy.

If I was survivor, panning my camera and finding someone slugged crawling towards me, I’d get the warm fuzzies and start crawling back. Imagining as we maneuver around barrels and walls to finally see each other. Then we inch closer and closer….I would feel pretty sweet to successfully recover.

Id like this to be implemented personally~

  • I’m so glad people mentioned so many Killers. The more I thought about it, the more Killers seemed to be a contender for most Unhealthy Killer in DbD. Nobody has even touched the mental aspect, maybe Pinhead is the most Unhealthy, I think he inflicts the most Pain which could mentally break survivors. Very unhealthy lol

  • Also OG Freddy Main, but BHVR ruined him. Then Plague main, but I made builds and strats around the Vile Purge and never used Corruption, then AGAIN, BHVR forced a fountain reset and forced Corruption on Plague, completely ruining my Killer. So then I became a Deathslinger Main…but…sigh, they extended his terror radius and took away the quick shot so…

Right now I’ve recently P3 Pinhead and on week 4 of consistently playing him. I’m still considering, his power is still a bit hard for me to control on console. I talk a lot about OG Freddy because everyone does, but personally the Plague changes hurt me the most, I really loved the sickness mechanic and the build up/strong end game of plague. If I wanted to one shot people I’d play huntress, I want people to despair in the sickness cesspool I created, even if I have to fight 5/6 fountains to do it >_<

  • I purposely left it vague. Name your most unhealthy killer game mechanics wise, lore wise, or other. Plenty of room for everything.

Personally I choose Clown. That breathing don’t lie.

  • As Killer, it felt like the Green Glyphs were chasing me, nobody came to where I went they would spawn and pulsate at me. I thought it was the easiest glyph challenge so far, only 2 games.

  • You just gotta make basekit NOED much weaker and people will put up with it. Like, after the EGC triggers instead of when the doors are powered….or…. Instead of one hex totem, every dull totem becomes hex by NOED and cleansing any Hex will cleanse them all. That way people have an escape route secured or people will start purposely leaving and remembering one totem for the NOED cleanse.

Something like this is as easy for survivors to handle as a Killer waiting 5 seconds on built in BT.

  • They could have just said nothing about a “reward” for P3ing and everyone would she be happy for less grind, BUT because BHVR tried to do something a little nice for those who decided to P3, everyone gotta complain and beg like spoiled children lol.

it’s like giving a kid some candy for doing well in the grocery store, vs telling them I’ll give them candy IF they are good and they spend the whole time in store annoying and loudly trying to find the biggest and best candy and then thinking they deserve it xD

  • A quick search says you need 8 points for Gold.

Your goal is to gain as many points as possible for this Emblem:

    • 0 points: starting value, No Emblem
    • 2 points: awarded for each Sacrifice
    • 2 points: awarded for each Kill
    • 0 points: for each bleed-out death
    • 2 points: awarded for each Disconnect
    • 1 point: awarded for having hooked all Survivors at least once
    • 1 point: awarded when Survivors have been hooked for 9 times.

  • Nobody has lived long enough to tell us about their battle with Nea.

  • I’d prefer a darker lore tie-in to the Newly Introduced Killer, even if the actual survivor model looked innocent. Like a sweet granny with a knack for baking cookies came in with a demented meat cleaving sophisticated/clean chef…except lore wise, that is her actual son and she was the one who twisted his mind and lead him down the road of constantly poisoning others and hiding it behind an innocent demeanor, the way she liked to poison him to keep his body frail and weak.

He got pulled in for his uniqueness to controlling poison and the impressive body count he had and she got pulled in with him right after learning her sons secret and trying to disown/distance herself from him. Besides her habitual need to try and keep her son weak and need of her care, she has always been the single mother who worked hard to survive, and was very outgoing and sociable. Everything the Entity would want to break, with just a touch of madness.

Something like that, I like when the lore sheds a new light on the survivor we’re looking at.

  • I heard you get a golden-statue type skin for that specific player model. I, for one, can’t wait to play as Golden Freddy~

  • Bro, nobody forced any of us to prestige, we all made that decision ourselves. They are evolving the prestige system and decided to go ahead and gift those who happened to p3 a lil badge… something they didn’t need to do in the first place.

I know it’s easy to be selfish and nice to receive free things but I’m starting to think half the people here are just choosing beggars. Just stop it.

  • Why are you giving away my secrets?

  • Haven’t heard an outcry this loud since the original Hex: Ruin rework. Don’t worry survivors, within a week or two the influencers will ease you into the ‘it’s not bad’ mindset and over an extended period of months we can just say that it’s ‘actually better now’.

If you didn’t get the sarcasm, I’m saying I miss original Ruin but I moved on with my DbD life and have accepted Hex: Pentimento as my new Shepard, praise the slowdown Hexes!
