I'm not sure I understand the question but, by definition, no one should accept harassment.
-
It's worth getting clarification. They've had sales in the past where the store was showing individual pieces at full price and outfits discounted, and then a few days later they said it was a mistake and the individual pieces were supposed to be discounted, too. So, you can never tell.
-
I marked myself as "I don't care" but, at this point, I'm so tired of reading the word "Springtrap" that it's turned me against the whole concept.
-
When I get down to cursed 2-survivor situations, I accept that we're going to lose, and I trade unhooks with the other survivor until the unluckiest one of us hits three hooks and dies. It almost always ends with one of us escaping -- no hatch camping necessary, and everyone gets more points than they would have if we stopped playing as soon as we knew we were going to lose. We continue to be a team until fate decides which one of us gets eliminated.
I get that some people don't want to do that, and I don't necessarily blame them if they camp the hatch instead of playing out the loss, but, IMO, that's them choosing to no longer be a team with me, so I don't feel obligated to help them escape.
-
I would just camp. I have a tape in my head of Reddit videos with captions like "This is what happens when you greed for two kills and get no kills," and, if I was already doing badly in a match, and there was no one near me, and it was EGC, and I was struggling for one kill, that tape would start to play.
-
There's always been a question mark about what would happen if a license didn't renew, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised that we're allowed to keep playing with the characters we've already bought and have an opportunity to buy them at a discount, with lots of advance warning, before they go away. Whoever hammered out that agreement thought ahead and made sure players were protected.
It's true that it creates another divide in the community where there will be people who played Before ST was removed and After but, since BHVR can't unilaterally control whether the license stays active, this is the best we could probably hope for.
-
I guess I'm lucky, because I almost never get abandoned on hook. It feels bad when it happens, though. And I'm always running Kindred, so I know they know. I feel you.
-
A simple thing done well is always better than a complicated thing cobbled together out of disjointed pieces.
-
Everybody likes to understand why they won or lost, but it sounds like you're main explanation for why you win or lose is other people's ranks. Can't you just look at what happens in the match and say, "Oh, we won/lost because we did that?"

Openly gay male, here. No, that's not targeted harassment. That word has multiple meanings, and one of them is synonymous with "annoying."
The word "gay" doesn't actually ever mean "annoying," and using it to mean "annoying" would be another example of homophobia. So, no, we don't give someone a pass because they meant it in a negative way, but not a super literal negative way.
-
I just crested 20. Which means I'm about to enter the section where you only get free rewards every five levels.
-
I actually have a theory about the sweaty killer thing, after my matches today.
In normal times, I match with such sweaty survivors that I have to play as hard as I can just to get a few hooks before I lose. Now that SBMM is turned on, I think what's happening with some of my games is that I'm matching with people who are potatoes like me, but because I'm used to having to play at maximum effort, I am now the sweatiest person in the match.
I think MMR is designed to sort that out after you play a few matches, so we'll see if it goes away over the rest of the week.
-
The main reason I'm interested in Hellraiser is because I want a puzzle box to solve, so fingers crossed we get one if this is true.
-
No, I don't want to be super sweaty. I want to play in a relaxed way and lose sometimes instead of grinding to get to the top of the MMR. That's also an option.
-
My experience on day one has been okay. Didn't notice any huge difference as survivor -- my teammates were maybe a little sweatier than usual. I felt bad for one of the killers because they seemed to be doing poorly, but then they turned out to be a NOED Sweaty Endgame killer and I was like, "You know what, good for you. You have a strategy at least."
-
I would be cool with Hellraiser, but I think the funniest reveal would be if it's an original character nobody has heard of.
-
My first round of matches have been pretty decent *knocks on wood*. Didn't notice any big difference as Survivor. As killer, I definitely got easier matches playing killers I'm not good at as opposed to the one I play best.
-
TBH, I like it better with the ranks hidden. I don't know why exactly, but I think it has to do with how many times people have tried to get in my head about it in the endgame chat. When I look at the tally page, now, and I can't see what rank anyone is, I kind of feel relieved.
-
Sure, sure. Any reasonable person would think that means "Red Herring," as in, a distraction intended to mislead. But what we've learned from DBD's previous diagrams is that they don't use symbols the way we would expect. Death shroud = "getting stunned." Iron Grasp = "the sever rejects your swing because it registered after the pallet throw." Following that logic, Red Herring = "Rejoice, gays, it's the Babadook!"

This is just my assumption but any High Rank or High Skilled player will never want MMR here in DBD as me and my friends who joins competitive DBD tournaments knows best that High Skill Trials are either gonna be Spirit/Nurse/Blight (Ruin+Undying+Corrupt+BBQ&Chili) vs 4 Man Seal Team Friends (Equipped with the best items with Add Ons).
My Survivor Friends(also joins competitively) don't want to play against Spirit, Nurse and Blight every game in the future while my Killer friends will agree that to stay on high rank you'll need to play these 3 Killers.
I'm noticing that most people that wants the MMR are people that complains about how bad their teammates are or How they want to to know a Killer without getting bullied. My assumption is anyone who wants MMR just wants the game to be carried for them. Maybe as a Survivor before complaining how your teammates are bad, maybe look at how you play first?
I 100% guarantee here that no high skill player want an MMR system here.
This sounds like the opposite to me. You're telling us that you're amazing at the game, but you don't want to play against other people who are amazing, or play a match that's difficult for you, so... who's trying to get an easy win?
-
I agree. Streamers often talk about this game as if the only people who play are in the top 2% of all players and forget that the experience is different for the average player. They also forget that, even if you're in the top 2%, you'll probably get a certain number of matches with average players anyway, just because of how the numbers work out. The matchmaking won't leave you in queue forever -- it'll find you a game, even if it's with people ranked lower.
The people it helps the most are the people in the middle who currently match with teammates and opponents who are too many levels above them, because there isn't enough differentiation between ranks.
-
OMG, Sia is the new survivor!
-
Let them do whatever stunt they're trying to do once and then give me a new map.
-
I liked the yellow glyphs. I found it hard to see the skill check wheel when it was empty -- so maybe I need to adjust my settings or something -- but they were very fun.
-
I would rather die than try to memorize the map spawns.
If you arrive at an awkward time and you're not that great at looping, the safer bet is to camp the pallet until the killer gets there so you can try to get a stun or force a break.
-
I think the Rift grind is too intense, but, as others have said, I do think it's pretty fair that you can either grind to get the whole Rift for free OR wait 6-12 months to get the one cosmetic you want from the store. It gives people options about how they want to engage, which is a good thing.
-
I also camped a bully once, and it does feel really nice.
Personally, I think that, if they're bullying you, you can do whatever you want. Don't take it out on the next group, but on the group that's actually doing it? Go ham.
-
The real lesson is not to watch yourself on other people's Twitch streams. Streamers don't really see you as a person -- they see you as an element of the game they can riff on to entertain the people watching. Unless you're watching the nicest streamer in the world, you won't tune in and hear them say nice stuff about you -- it's pretty much always going to be bad.
As far as the game, it sounds like you played neutral. Definitely didn't go out of your way to be nice to the players who seemed to be struggling, but it doesn't sound like you went out of your way to torment them, either.
-
Yeah, it's not really about flashlights and Lightborn. It's that some people, whenever they lose, need to explain to you why you didn't really, really win because they're afraid that you'll feel superior to them otherwise (because they feel superior to other people when they win a game).
-
Look, you guys: we almost all agree about something. Always cleanse lit totems. If Haunted Grounds goes off, it sucks, but everyone understands.

Bro lol...all survivors can FULLY recover from dying state lmaoooo. The survivors can pick themselves up. I see what you're saying but i'm pretty sure all the survivors will be scattered around, or figure out some type of strategy to depart themselves from the killer u know? Yeah the game mode will require map adjustments(it can just be one map that gets changed or even added just for the gamemode) of course bc it gotta be like 15 gens scattered across the map. It wouldn't be exactly 10 gens.
The killer would always just lose that game, though. If survivors can't be removed from the match and there are more gens than they need, then it's impossible for the killer to defend the gens. The survivors just spread out and do gens all match.
-
I'm not really feeling this one, either. The only thing I really like is the recoloured Nea shirt, and that's level 60... I don't know if I'm going to make it that far. Everything else I either feel indifferent to, or I think it actually looks unattractive (ex: the hair colour they put on Zarina doesn't suit her at all).

thats the thing...survivors don't escape. They just have to finish 10 gens within the time limit. Killers have to defend gens until the time runs out.
Okay, makes sense. Now that I understand, I feel like it would always come down to a thing where the survivors are trying to do the last gen and the killer is trying to keep them all slugged until the clock runs out, just playing whack-a-mole when they try to pick themselves up.
-
It's hypocritical to play super aggressively and then criticize your opponents for playing super aggressively, too. But it's also possible for adult humans to play a friendly game where they're considerate of each other and try to make sure no one feels like they're getting rolled. That's also a thing that can happen.
So, I don't believe in this philosophy that says, "Only think about yourself and don't consider whether anybody else is having fun," but I also don't believe that you're obligated to play with one hand tied behind your back if the people you match with are being super sweaty. Just don't be the person who becomes super aggressive when everyone else is being chill.
-
I'm confused about how killers win in this scenario. Presumably, if the survivors finish the gens and escape, that's still a win for them, but the killer can't ever remove them from the game, so what's the win scenario for that player?
-
I think part of the difference is that killers who want to be bullies don't really need a specific map to help them do it -- their bullying tools are available anywhere. Survivors who want to be bullies often use specific maps to facillitate the bullying, which part of the reason those maps are so hated. So, when you see a survivor play an offering for one of those maps, it's hard to know if they did it innocently or if they're being hostile.

I don't really care, but probably they will not create it, for two simple reasons:
- it takes extra money/time to create new skins
- it is better for BHVR if fog whisperers are using or promoting skins that everyone can buy for auric cells
I agree. I'm not sure what all the Fog Whisperers get for free, but part of the deal seems to be that they "show off" new skins which makes people want to buy them. IMO, that's totally fine, but I agree that it runs against the idea of giving them an exclusive skin to wear instead.
(The funniest videos are the killer videos where someone "shows off" the new killer skin, since you can't see it anywhere but in the menus.)
-
Throwing the key on the ground is what I've seen as well. The problem with beckoning someone is that some people beckon you so they can lead you to the killer, so people mistrust that.
My problem is that, when I'm the one who brought a key, I forget that we're trying to use it, and my teammates all run around me trying to get my attention and I'm like, "What's up, bozos -- do a gen." And then we all get killed.
-
I really dislike this map. People kept playing offerings for it yesterday, and I ended up looking for my yellow glyph there repeatedly. Didn't find it once.
I think it's too big and there are too many dead ends and corridors that don't lead where it looks like they're going to. If you're trying to find something specific, or cross the map to unhook someone, or cross the map because your Discordance goes off, good luck.
-
From a killer POV, the gens go too fast. From a survivor POV, it's super boring to repair them and it feels like they take a million years. I lean more toward a solution where survivors have more objectives than one where it takes longer to do gens.
-
I was able to play during the anniversary, which is better than it was for some people. With that in mind:
- I liked having an extra task to do, even if I won't ever wear most of the crowns because they only work with default heads.
- I loved getting extra shards. Letting me pick my own anniversary present from the store was great.
- I personally don't like the new map, and don't care about Resident Evil.
- I absolutely rushed to the store to get the event cosmetics with the codes, because I love cosmetics, but I don't think I'll actually use them.
- I liked the daily shrine rotations, and I was happy to get Undying finally.
-
I always run self-care because I want the option to heal. I've had too many solo games where my teammates let me heal them and then run away without healing me.
-
I've had mixed experiences going against Trickster 1.3. If he gets you out in the open, you can go down really fast, but I also went against a Trickster who came within one knife of downing me, but then I went behind a box and started to lose laceration and, long story short, I ran away while he got nothing out of throwing all his knives.
It seems to me that a power that only really works when you catch them away from structures is still not that good of a power.
-
I haven't dropped anyone -- I've added a few to the regular rotation who weren't there before. Kate was always one of my mains, and I've still been playing her. I actually like the changes they made to one of her head cosmetics, by reducing the amount of makeup. I preferred how she looked before, don't get me wrong, but she's still playable for me.
The one thing I don't like is that there seems to be a move toward making the hair look good at Ultra and... kind of not seeming to care how it looks on Low. I've never heard of anyone playing this game on anything other than Low.
-
Graff-Crafter is a really popular skin. I've seen Neas who are toxic and Neas who are fine wearing it. But Nea does seem to be a character of choice for people who want to play aggressively.

Push her chin up does help too.
Hm. I wonder about the chin. I agree it looks better when you push it in, but I think part of the issue with the face reworks was that they had to "change the geometry" to fit the rig, and I wonder if maybe the rig requires longer/wider jaws.

I really wish props had a tangible benefit. Say if one player gets a ton of props from unique players (only 1 prop is counted from each player) they get a good sportsmanship bloodpoint bonus and a charm. It would massively incentivize being kinder and a better sport, which would be good for the community. I also always wanted killer emotes, being able to "BOO!" as ghostface would be an amazing emote, stuff like that would be a good addition to the game if it was managed well.
I like the idea of collecting props from unique players and getting a prize or something -- it could maybe even reset with rank reset so you can work toward a prize every month. The trick would be finding a way to make it work in a system where there are four people on one team and one person on the other. Because, as soon as there was a prize attached, there would be people who would start trying to find a way to abuse the math somehow. You'd want people to feel like it's a prize they have an equal chance to get, no matter which side they play.
-
All I can picture is a scenario where I save all my charges for Main Event, and then I throw my bat, and then it hits a barrel and the Nea teabags, and then Main Event is over.
If fits Trickster perfectly -- I love it.
-
I agree that gen tapping shouldn't be a thing -- you should have to do more than tap a button to stop regression. I say that as someone who swerves to tap regressing gens all the time -- I do it because it's silly not to when I have the option, but I truly shouldn't be able to.
-
It seems very clear that "I want my game to look ugly, that's just what I prefer," is a cover for "I want to have an advantage in the game." But I'm not sure whether there's anything anyone can do about it.
