  • I know what I'm about to say might sound not relevant to the discussion but hear me out please:

in another game I play, they release characters and skins at the same time, so every new character gets a premium skin on their release day (the skin costs the same as 2 and half characters, so if you buy both you pay the same price that 3 characters would cost you). Last year, the devs also thought it was a "good" idea to bundle the character and the skin and sell them for the same price as 2 and half characters (so you saved the price for half a character if you buy the bundle). However, unlike previous releases, you could only buy the bundle, there was no other option to buy the character separately. And what did the players do? Actually speak with their wallets. You basically never saw that character in game until 1 week later when they separated skin and character. Later, the devs released an apology letter and haven't done anything like it ever since.

TLDR; if it bothers you that much, don't buy it to send a message

DBD players really think giving someone a product and making them pay real money for it then taking it away without warning is a morally correct and justified thing lol

Do you realize how impossible it would be to balance the game without this? We would still have old MoM, old legion, old Freddy, old ruin, old dying light and so on and so forth.

Also there was a warning. You agreed to the EULA, where this is clearly written. The EULA is presented to you in full when you first start the game, so you can read it. If you don't like it you shouldn't have agreed to it.

Well let see something that is happening a lot.

Deja Vu - 9% repair speed on three gens

    Resilience - 9% repair speed

    Prove - 15% repair speed

Purple tool box - 100% repair speed (addons not included)

MFT to combo and maintain the build for a long time

Well expecting that the survivors are not receiving any debuff on repair speed they have the normal 100% repair speed, with making then with this build have 233% repair speed on a gen, is more powerful then ruin, call of brine, overcharge, before nerfs (using them alone), I seeing a lot of this build, in one of my matches I believe that was against a SWF because they're using the exactly same build, I was playing legion, there's nothing for me to do, they pop all gens in 3 minutes, it was the fastest match of my life

Deja vu is 6% and only on revealed gens. It's meant to counter 3 gen stalling and mainly used as a soloq band aid. SWFs have no use for this perk, as they can share information about 3 gens between each other and you don't run a perk for 6% gen speed alone.

Furthermore, prove is only active if 2 survivors are on the gen, which does in fact debuff their repair speed by more than 15%.

But even if your math was correct, out of the 133%, 100% would come from a toolbox, so perhaps it would be better to tackle them instead?

Okay? Still doesn't make it morally right at all and they should fully refund anyone who bought this chapter

This is precisely why they put that in the EULA. Otherwise, people like you would ask for refunds every single time they change something in game.

  • the classic soloq band aids: kindred, bond, woo and deja vu

But that isn't the content I paid for. I paid for Skull Merchant not whatever the hell they're gonna rework her power into. When shes just another generic chase power killer then that isn't what I paid for.

The following section is taken directly from the End User Licensing Agreement. Basically, it doesn't matter "what you paid for". I marked the relevant part for you because I know it's quite long:

    V. Virtual Goods

The Game may, from time to time, feature virtual goods. Virtual goods include but are not limited to virtual items (characters, accessories, items such as “character customization”, power-ups), points, credits, tokens and currency (collectively, “Virtual Goods”) for use in the Game.

You may “earn” Virtual Goods within the Game or we may allow you to “purchase” Virtual Goods with “real money” or virtual currencies. Certain Virtual Goods in the Game may be unavailable if not purchased.

Virtual Goods (such as virtual currency) purchased on other platforms such as Steam®, PlayStation®, or Xbox® will be subject to those platforms’ terms and conditions. Please review those platforms’ terms and conditions for further information before completing your purchase. BHVR does not control how you can pay or how refunds may be issued on those platforms. When you make a payment through a third-party platform, you are agreeing to the third party’s payment terms, and BHVR is not a party to the transaction.

Virtual Goods are licensed to you, not sold. You do not own the Virtual Goods, and you acknowledge and agree that all Virtual Goods represent a limited, personal, nonexclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable and fully revocable license to use the Virtual Goods, for your individual, non-commercial, entertainment purposes only. You have no right, title, interest, or ownership in or to any Virtual Goods. We may terminate your license at any time and at our sole discretion.

BHVR has the absolute right to regulate, discontinue, update, modify or eliminate any Virtual Goods at any time in its sole discretion and BHVR shall have no liability to you or anyone else for these actions.

Virtual Goods have no monetary value, and in no event may you sell, transfer, trade, exchange, give, convert or redeem Virtual Goods for “real” money or other goods or services, including other Virtual Goods, inside or outside the Game except as expressly permitted by this EULA, the BHVR Terms or otherwise permitted in the gameplay.

All purchase of Virtual Goods, whether made with “real money” or virtual currencies, are non-refundable and non-returnable and are not redeemable for any sum of money or monetary value or virtual currency from BHVR at any time.

BHVR reserves the right to modify the price for Virtual Goods that may be “purchased” at any time and the retail price for Virtual Goods does not need to be linear.

Then survivors will just suicide on hook instead.

Totally beats the purpose of the bots.

Was about to say that. The dc bot system is theroretically a step in the right direction, but because players will just hook suicide to avoid a dc penalty, it is practically irrelevant

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

DC penalty needs to be made harsher, and BHVR needs to introduce the ability to rejoin an active game.

To my knowledge, BHVR doesn’t ban players for disconnecting, because there is little-to-no actionable evidence supporting the motive of rage quitting.

If players circumvent long DC penalties by AFKing and throwing themself at the killer, they will eventually be documented and banned.

For the longevity of the game, players who are not committed to seeing every game through—barring an IRL emergency—should be given no incentive to stick around.

The “disconnecting because things aren’t going my way” culture that has developed here is a scourge that that is quietly killing the game.

And how will a system be able to document and differentiate between "throwing yourself at the killer" and being hard tunneled from the start? The only way this would work is if someone manually reviewed all those matches and that's just not going to happen.

You didn't read my post right. I said outside of chase/hook/on the ground. It would be factored in by the minute instead of the whole match.

in that case, they can just run at the killer, start a chase and probably die soon anyway. Players who don't want to play WILL find ways to throw and avoid any potential systems meant to detect and punish that. That's why I think just letting them dc is the lesser evil because at least a bot that actually wants to play the game will replace them.

What killer-mains really should say is, "If other killers were overpowered and with a low-skill ceiling as Wesker."

    S-Tier is overpowered.

He's not OVERpowered, but he is very powerful for how easy he is to play. Other strong killers require a lot of practice and dedication to play them well, but basically anyone can pick up wesker and perform at the very least decently.

  • From a power perspective, it's hard to beat the eruption/cob/overcharge meta. Every killer could stall gens ad infinitum. It wasn't a healthy meta at all, but killers were undoubtedly "powerful".

  • Good heavens, no. If they bring back the bp bonus, players might earn meaningful amounts of bp per match. We can't have that now, can we?

  • There are no more ranks. There are only grades, which do not influence matchmaking. Their only function is to determine how many bps you get when the monthly reset happens. Matchmaking is solely influenced by an invisible mmr number that is not reset.

  • breakout build:

breakout, mettle of man, dead hard and either empathy or saboteur. If you run empathy you obviously need a sabotage toolbox, otherwise you can bring a medkit instead. The goal is proc mettle of man and get someone off the killer's shoulder.

If you could adjust anything to make Nemesis more fun-exciting, what would you do?

Make the zombies less RNG. Maybe give him an ability that allows him to direct them to a spot or recall them to his position, but I guess that would just make him knight 2.0

Of course it's not fully doable in DBD.

I like the wind animation effect when he screams. I like the idea of a rocket, but not as an insta-down. The destruction of the pallet was pretty funny (but matching the timing to other killers would be challenging so doing so might lose that impact ).

There really was nothing about it that was funny or exciting to you? Nothing that triggered any creativity? That surprises me.

I found was genuinely entertaining, but as you said something like that would be hard to implement and I think current nemesis isn't bad.

  • So basically a 200% movement speed killer that can insta down, ignore pallets, fast vault and shoot an insta down aoe projectile?

  • Wesker's hitbox is in a great spot as of now. Back in the PTB his hitbox was too big which lead to survivors being vacuumed into his grab, but in the live version it was too small at first, which lead to him sliding past survivors. Now it's in the middle, which is perfect.

  • Dredge. Excellent visual design, very atmospheric killer, fun power that isn't completely useless, good chase music.

  • I guess the point is that both camping and tunneling are very easy. Every killer can do it whenever they please and it's not like those are big brain high skill strategies. The counter on the other hand is very difficult. It takes a coordinated team effort to counter camping and tunneling, something that the vast majority of survivor players simply can't do because they're not actually all on discord (even though some killers here are allegedly facing exclusively swfs)

  • Unless it's an important part of their lore, it doesn't matter. Nurse is probably the only character where it matters because her husband's death is important.

  • Hoarder on pinhead was like stridor on spirit: a garbage perk that becomes really strong on one specific killer due to their power. No one else was using it, so I think it's not a huge loss.

    1. it's a free perk
    2. it's not a terrible perk

It’s 100% your fault if you sit there and let a blight hug tech you. It’s not hard to predict, see, and counter.

it's still a bug and should be fixed.

  • Killers get an insta expose or an insta pallet break. That sounds a lot stronger

  • They're probably collecting data to see how much mft REALLY affects kill rates. Maybe it's just another hyper focus situation where the perk looks strong on paper but doesn't really influence kill rates enough to warrant a nerf

  • if the kill rates go down significantly in matches with mft, then I assume that a balance change will happen. If the kill rates are unaffected by mft, then the perk will most likely remain unchanged

  • She's a skin and they don't make skins for skins

  • IF you can stay on the gen uniterrupted, IF you get enough skill checks and IF you hit all great ones, then yes, the perk is good. But that's like saying fast track with 27 stacks is good.

  • dbd may be a horror game but that would be way too disturbing

  • the locker is literally highlighted with a very noticeable black fog if it stays in there for too long. Any killer with insidious does a better job at hook camping

  • The problem is that tunneling isn't just the easiest way to win, it's also the most effective, which is such bad game design in my opinion.

In other games, the best way to win is usually the harder one. It rewards players for investing time and effort into learning game mechanics and using them effectively. The easier way is usually less effective, as anyone can do it with minimal effort. This encourages players to improve if they want better results.

Dbd doesn't do that. You can invest a lot of time and effort into learning the ins and outs of your favorite killer's power and use that to overpower the survivor team, but why would you do that when you can achieve the same or better results simply through tunneling? It's easy, anyone can do it, it's almost never punished and gets results.

  • No. Hook grabs only encourage and reward face camping.

  • I'd use that game mode to grind challenges like "cleanse 25 totems"

  • That's the neat part: you don't.

Slap on resilience and adrenaline and pray that your teammates do the same because healing will waste too much time

  • Altruistic healing absolutely didn't need a nerf. This is a massive soloq nerf while swf will just shrug it off most likely.

  • yeah, these changes, especially considering mangled and hemorrhage, make healing no longer appealing. It might just be better to equip resilience and adrenalin and push through gens. Spending 30 seconds on a single heal is too much.

  • Survivors get the bp bonus roughly from 7-8 am to 6-7 pm, then it switches to killer. This has been consistent ever since they introduced the bonus, at least for me.

  • I always try my best to play in a way that isn't frustrating for the other side.

  • Carlos. I was so happy when they released that skin. Now Jill is no longer trapped in a cold, cruel and Carlos-less world

  • Yeah, Leatherface needs the same restrictions other killers have. Artist for example can't use her power around the hook and neither can skull merchant or twins. Leatherface and hag are remnants from an old time and need restrictions like new killers when it comes to preventing them from camping with their power

  • Yes, absolutely. I run "farming" builds on both killers and survivors and while I easily get around 35.000 bp per killer match, survivor, even with maximum farming effort, rarely gets over 25.000.

  • maybe another Haddie situation where the green ones are amazon rewards

  • My favorite killers are dregdge, artist and knight (in that order). I mainly like their aesthetic, but it helps that their powers all work relatively well on console (unlike trickster for example).

My favorite survivors are Carlos (so technically Leon), Yoichi, Vittorio and Felix. I just like how they look.

  • only if the lab coat is the only thing he's wearing

  • This would either be on the same power level as dark theory on 90% of maps or completely broken on maps with multiple floors

  • Survivors are just skins, killers have unique powers. Guess which one is easier to put into the game

  • if I could actually earn bp, I would exclusively play bot matches, but since you don't get anything I don't see the point

  • If by "was fine" you mean "was basically a dead zone with 8 pallets (on a good day)" then sure, it was absolutely fine

1 … 16 17 18 19 20 … 38
