Devour hope is one of the most fun perks in the game tbh.
-
F tier, no longer comes.
-
Meanwhile, shelter woods is a thing where these killers are pretty much handed 4k. Some maps are good some maps are bad.

I like it, but thats probably just because I love resident evil and it blinds my objective opinion

But they didn't make him fun to play against. They took away skillful part of his kit which is quickscoping, and made zoning stronger and pretty much mandatory if you want to down survivors. New way of playing slinger is hold m2 until you catch up, or until they lock themselves in animation and you have guaranteed hit. I don't think slinger is B-tier, I believe he's quite strong in good hands, at least on par with huntress, but you definitely need skill and a lot of practise to have good results. His nerfs hinder and take away freedom from any good slinger who relied on hitting their shots, and buff NOED slinger who couldn't land a single shot in the open. Less skill, more zoning, more clumsiness - what a terrible change.
Full disclaimer, I didn't actually play against him on PTB, only as him, so I can't comment on whether he is more fun to play against or not. I was merely referring to what I believe they intended, and not whether they succeeded or not, so happy to take your word for it here.

Is there any hope for his changes to not go live? Or any chances that devs would listen to the community's overall negative feedback and reconsider some of his nerfs, like at the very least not remove ability to quickscope?
It'll most certainly go ahead I'd have thought. It's a shame, because more than anything he feels so clunky and horrible now; they've tried to make him more fun to play against and to do so have made him horrible to play as.
Imo I'd prefer if they would bring back quick scoping, but have the accuracy of your shot increase the longer you aim (100% accurate after full aim animation) kind of like how you have aim spread on FPS games. That way, at least he'll still feel fluid to play as, with quick scoping being a high risk kind of strat. It'll also mean you'll need to aim 100% for long range shots, giving them chance to dodge, but around tight loops might be able to get away with a quick shot, making him not so weak around them,

Tombstone Myers with Spirit fury or Brutal strength for pure terror.

Yeah, I tried him on the PTB and he feels HORRIBLE. It feels like driving a car with no powered steering.

It is still downgrade. Server denied me insta-down, but I was able to start animation, so that means I had to be in range for normal hit at least.
you were only in range on your system, but on the server you could have been anywhere.
-
The grab effect is client side, your pc detects whether it should execute the grab animation, the server validates it and changes it to an m1 if it fails validation. If you made it a guaranteed hit, then you would essentially be letting the client decide when to hit a survivor.
I imagine it would be open to all kinds of exploiting. Server validation is a tricky beast, and even if this is the devs intention, I would expect it to probably take a while longer than the standard grab M1 they have implemented so far.

There is clearly a big difference with directional sound, maybe your headphone is not good enough.
If supposed counter play is locked behind a hardware wall, that's kind of questionable game design at best. As killer, you can avoid playing spirit altogether, but as survivor you don't get to chose which killers you play against.
I have no idea as to whether this is or isn't the case mind; perhaps somebody could clarify for me?
-
Depending on how MMR works, NOED is going to grant ######### killers kills they don't deserve and award higher MMR than they should have. Then they'll just get bullied by higher MMR survivors because they never learn how to play the game and just wait until end game for free kills.
-
remove cooldown (if youre getting multiple downs in that space of time you've earnt the regression imo...) and remove the m1 attack restriction to make viable on more killers
-
got a "gg ez no bbq stack for you" (last survivor died in end game collapse) and a load of ######### for running "OP" scratched mirror on myers. On cold wind farm. Apparently its the best map for it? I just couldn't comprehend it.
-
He was super fun to play as tho. Now he's just #########.
-
the invincibility aspect never really works for me anyway tbh so I wouldn't be too bothered if it were removed, but I feel that would detract from the theme of the perk.
Personally I don't think it's as broken as people make out. It's just very very popular (as the easiest to use of the 2 best exhaustion perks, SB being great when 99d but difficult to use effectively).
I'd rather see more exhaustion perks given secondary effects to make them more popular picks.

What do you mean “no good reason”? Getting deeply penetrated by Myers’ tool is always a welcome gift. It is the pinnacle of DbD gameplay!
Apparently, judging by the number of DCs I got, this isnt a very popular opinion
-
FFS I've been burning through my tombstone pieces making players lives hell anticipating a nerf for no good reason.
-
"this game isn't balanced!"
No #########, that's literally in the game description.
-
Yeah he's going to suck now. He was pretty weak anyway, his 1v1 was great but he would still lose to any coordinated team. Now he's just all round bad. He might still be ok in 1 v 1(but far far weaker), but with no buffs to his glaring weakness to offset these changes, he will be worse than trickster imo.
-
no
-
we need to add a few more for next time such as "what about SWF" and "x is the only killer that can compete at high MMR". Then, I can program a bingo card randomiser so everybody can have their own unique one and see who fill theirs first <3

I'm personally very happy they're finally nerfing killers who have very little to no counter play in chase.
Problem is, he literally has nothing else going for him. He's so slow, and doesn't have the range of huntress/trickster, that his 1v1 was what gave him any sort of chance, and even then, he would still fall short against coordinated teams because he simply cant get around the map quick enough to pressure gens. I honestly think he needs to be 115% with these changes.
-
this is now a fantastic perk, It was already one of my favourites
-
I don't understand why anybody would ever choose him over huntress now? His rapid aim was what made up for his weakness at pallets/inability to down survivors if you cant reel them in, and his shorter range.
-
He was B tier at best😂

Personally I think that with Boon totems coming along, killers should be able to reapply their Hex's to dull totems, and cleansing a totem of its boon/curse should turn it back to a dull totem, which then gives the player the decision as to whether they want to destroy it completely or not.
This would make dull totems more of an objective besides expecting NOED, solve the problem of terrible totem spawns for killers (starting a match and your totems are gone within first 20 seconds), give a bit more decision making and strategy (do I destroy the totem completely, or keep it for a boon/hex and risk the other side taking it back) and help balance the fact that killers are going to have essentially another objective to deal with.
It also wouldn't be as powerful as old ruin/undying, as killer would have to seek out totems and re-curse them in order to regain their hex.
-
This is marvellous. I'm gonna have this ready when part 2 of the mid chapter notes come through. This is your hour, my friend.

Can I increase the rewards obtained by camping and tunneling survivors?
These survivors protected their teammates and bought time for their teammates to complete their main goals.
And if the survivors are knocked down, they will not be punished. We need to encourage more survivors who save their teammates and are willing to interact with the killer.
And encourage those killers who do not have camping and tunneling, they have effectively improved the game experience, and everyone in it is exciting and enjoyable.
Apparently (although it doesnt feel it a lot of the time), survivors who are in a chase will passively get a share of objective rewards generated by other players.
Personally, I think hooked survivors should get the same if the killer is near the hook and isnt in chase with another survivor. Somebody being camped is essentially doing the same job as somebody being chased, albeit it with much less effort for both parties.

Should make a bingo card for every time this happens
if this goes live all [killers/survivors] will quit the game
This overpowered thing I like is actually underpowered, and useless against good [killers/survivors]
But it is also the only thing that works against those good players, who are now unstoppable
You just need to git gud
Devs make all their balance decisions based on [killer/survivor] mains whining on the forum
I'm going to play in the most miserable way possible to protest this change, which will definitely work
Everyone who disagrees with me is [a rank 20/low MMR]
This made me lol. 10/10 would definitely play.

Every new survivor is the same modernish era like why cant we get a 18th century girl accused of being a witch or a WW2 soildier or an ancienct roman or egyptian. Like compared to killers where we have nurse from an old asylum around WW1(IIRC), an ancient priestess, a samuri, some forest lady from around WW2(IIRC), some french peasants from the 1600 and a mad alchemist from the 1800. Survivors are all too samey imo its all X proffesion from X place and from 1970s-2020s and from the teasers this trend doesnt look like its gonna change even though the hints were towards a witchy survivor so I had just a little bit of hope maybe it was someone falsy accused from the Salem witch trials but with the video teaser it seems it will just be a stage performer from X country from 1970s-2020s
Agreed, did ask this myself awhile back. Although might be a bit odd to see a 1600s french peasant repairing a generator, but still, David manages it and he looks thick as #########.
-
Personally I think it should apply its blind right from the get go. as indieeden7 said, I don't think its a bad perk. It can just be pretty situational. Would be good to see it synergies with other hex perks by hiding them from detectives hunch/maps/counter force right from the start of the match.
-
I suspect the MMR was revealing that the highest ranked killers were a select few.
Win rates don't really show much outside of how difficult a killer is to play, but if all the highest ranked MMR killers were all spirit, nurse, blight etc, then it would say a lot, especially when you compare how challenging it is to play nurse and blight are compared to spirit.

Then, as the smouldering ruins of civilisation are on the horizon, a voice is heard far in the distance

pebble, urban evasion, iron will, spine chill. Funny to watch killer running around chasing stones
