I feel like this will be more of a stealth perk than a bully perk. If you're worried about flashlight saves, you can still counter this perk by facing a wall, or running Lightborn, which I like to do when I see more than 1 flashlight in a lobby.

i think you're thinking of the wrong perk mang

this is the skillcheck gen progress perk

Just because he's the face of the game doesn't mean he should be the best in the game. I totally agree where he is at now is kind of depressing due to how outdated his power is, but I'm sure if they clean him up a little bit and give him more map pressure he'll be in a respectable spot. Plus I can only see a top tier version of trapper being incredibly irritating to face.

yeah that's what i'm scared of. i want trapper to be buffed so he's no longer the saddest character in this entire game, but i also hate playing against him. if they were to rework him, i'd hope they'd focus on making him strong but also more fun to play against (i mean, that's ideal for any rework but especially him)

giving him more gameplay than randomly having the chase end because you walked in the wrong spot is pretty sleeper.

Billy should be the posterboy. Even after he got the nerf bat he's fun to play as and against, has a very unique look, and is one of the OGs.

nah, trickster should be : )

  • gotta love how it actually was just reworked and this is a modern-day DBD map that the devs approved and put in the live build

but don't worry, I'm sure their stats told them that survivors win-rate was too low on this map, so throwing in 15 extra zero-gameplay god pallets and not actually creating some healthy and balanced loops (and adding more windows while decreasing the amount of pallets/god pallets) was the right move!!!!

I honestly just now have learned to play him effectively. I switched to mouse and keyboard and really started training with him every day. About 6 or 7 days in now and am starting to wipe the floor with them. I really feel bad for console players because they are missing out.

Same. Hope they get better control over him in a future patch, cause he looks pretty much unplayable on console and that's a shame. I'm always down to go against more Blights, and not ones that slam into everything wildly and have a 20 degree lunge lol

I think the best three chapters were Stranger Things, Halloween and Descend Beyond.

Stranger Things was mega hype, as was Halloween and the characters are fan favorites to this day.

Halloween definitely had a lot of hype and was super cool that it was happening, but tbf it did release 2 of the most controversial perks in the game, especially DS, and one of the worst maps in the game, if not the worst. It's more of a nostalgia thing than the chapter actually being that great lol.

  • If you know how to play Blight, Alchemists Ring is the most fun addon in the game by far IMO. Have a good time.

  • bubbas iris are definitely not S tier

carburrator isn't actually that good. the reduction in speed and the fact that it consumes all of your charges makes it awful. the only benefit it actually gives you is the extra duration which is exactly the same as purple chili. the iri flesh isn't THAT good either. nice addon but whatever.

Is this when the secondary window is that larger one with a hole in instead of the tiny side one?

They're both open at the same time (the tiny one and the large one with the hole). Even if they weren't, either would still be busted, but the fact that you can chain them makes it 10x worse.

    Unless you're asking something else?

  • I really do wish I could see you do this stuff. Hearing the concept is one thing, but seeing it in practice (against some good players ofc) is another.

Yup, bad map creep is starting again after the graphics updates. I wonder if it will take another 4 years before they take a look at it. To be honest I dont think the game has 4 years left so sadly groaning storehouse and meat plant will stay as they are and thats why I’ll never pay money towards this game ever again

feel like the quality of stuff in general has been really bad in the past year.

extremely bad map design like gideon, you've got these random perks with a thousand different limitations and conditions, unfinished chapters and updates, killers that don't even have full thought put into them (ahem ahem how they didn't think of locker counterplay vs Victor in the ptb, then had to add it post-release over a month later), the newest killer that could've had some type of unique mechanics to differentiate him from Huntress or Plague, but they literally just made "Huntress but old Legion's concept applied to her." Breakable walls that make no ######### sense. Perk changes like what happened to Thana. Clown's buff being what it was. Billy's overnerf. The most random and unnecessary nerfs like Coup and Gearhead.

I don't really understand what's going on with this game lol. I feel like even if the quality of updates were lower 2 years ago, the updates just made more sense. Maps were alright, perks made sense, more changes were made from PTBs, etc. Something happened...

You do not determine how good a killer is based on low and mid tier ranks. You base them on good vs good players.

Almost every single game balances from the top down and there's a good reason.

Clown slaughtering a bunch of rank 20's over and over doesn't mean Clown is strong, it means those survivors are terrible. This is cause and correlation.

yeah I don't think plague is weak, but I really hate this guy's argument for why she isn't lol

red ranks are the exact same as green ranks lol. full of trash players.

  • that map has a literal near infinite in its main building (you can't even start chase there depending on positioning AND chase can also break) that has a useless breakable wall, but nothing has been done to it. i hate that map with a passion.

it also has double pallet spawns outside the main building and one of the worst gen spreads in the game. i would wake up a happy man if they just deleted that trash map.

  • so what's the benefit of playing him vs nurse?

I agree with you about that. I saw real teams smash most of the killer mains but my point is Plague is not weak. Yes a new system like level 1-2-3 sickness can be nice and it can add some excitement. Plague is not a bad killer and I think she does not need some buff. Most of the time maps are problems for many killers. Some maps have quite large and have really strong jungle gyms and loops. I mean there should be some strong loops but at some maps there is no mindgame or tactics you can do againts. The real problem with Plague is the real problem to all killers which is unbalanced map designs.

Apparently, there's some leftover code from Plague's development that shows sickness was supposed to slow survivor's movement speed down whenever they vomit. I think that'd be a pretty solid penalty to add to sickness.

It's not a flat penalty, so Survs could greed a pallet and think they can make it around, vomit, slow down a bit, and Plague catches up quicker and gets a hit. I think that'd work out alright tbh.

Could tie it to sickness tiers too. The higher tier of sickness you suffer from, the more you get hindered when vomiting.

Otz plays the game since release and it's a job for him. This guy can make 50 win streak by using potato only. He knows maps, players and etc... cause he spents most of his time with the game since it's his job.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/236856/plague-buff-concept

I dont know why many people dont play Plague but she is a strong killer and she can punish survivors that do not cleanse. However I love your idea about the killer cause it might be quite enjoyable to see something new and that can shine the Plague even more but I think that she is strong already. I am not gonna say she is OP cause she is not but she is def one of the strong killer in the game.

It's not even that Otz is some messiah of video games, it's literally just because the average team in this game is bad.

He's definitely gone against some decent survivors, and those are obviously the games that have come close, but once you go against a REAL team, whether or not you're a DBD genius, you are losing as Plague.

On ALL of his other winstreak losses with Plague (I believe he might've had 3-4?), the games that lost him the streak were literally just games with real teams, and for at least one, a bad map to combo with it. I know he lost on old Ormond once, which was very likely a good part of the reason why he lost. You're not winning against an actual good team with that killer, despite her being pretty strong and Otz being a good player.

He can't make a 50 win streak using a potato. However, he can make a 50 winstreak if 95% of his games are against potatoes. I'm suspecting that this type of stuff isn't gonna be possible with MMR judging by how well it actually worked (until people like Dowsey, who got 200 wins with Twins, reached extremely high MMR with a killer to the point where he was being matched with nobody but a comp team that sniped him - and otz is gonna have the SAME thing with Plague if they don't fix that).

By no means do I think Otz is a bad Plague player or bad player in general, but the 50-100 winstreak is half on him being a good player, and half on him being lucky that he hasn't gotten a team that's as sweaty as him in his past 100 games with Plague.

  • Legion and Oni would probably be the meta choice, since Oni's Blood Fury is the best power in the game, but his overall power, yamaokas wrath, has the downside of needing to get an injure with a basic attack. Having Legion pretty much negates the one significant downside of Oni's power, and you'd also get extra blood with the mending time and healing time, which is quickly undone by Legion, and, on top of this, even if you DO heal, Oni negates your health state with instadowns. It'd be disgusting.

  • It can regress fully to 0%.

If a gen is 99.9%, it will take approx. 2.5 minutes (150-160 seconds) to regress fully if NO survivor makes any progress on it during that time.

  • If the survivor does not remove Victor in under 30 seconds that survivor will go into the dying state and Victor will automatically be recalled back to Charlotte

You've got a no-win situation issue here. Pounce, move to them as Charlotte, get in chase, they die no matter what.

  • The PTB for the new killer was weeks ago, almost a month at this point actually. You've missed it, sorry.

There is one for every single new chapter and midchapter though. They started happening with clown, and happen every ~1.5 months.

  • If your teammates understand their counterplay (which is literally what a good player means - I assume we're going by that when judging how balanced a killer is) they are actually very balanced and have a good amount of counterplay/counter-strategies on both sides. They're pretty enjoyable to watch when faced against a good team unless they have pure megahealing and anti-slug build. Then they're completely neutered. But you're not gonna see that often unless they know they're going against Twins.

They're definitely not what you think they are. You're probably going off against their strength vs your average potato farm if you think they're OP.

  • I really don't think it's Billy. I get why people say it, but Billy feels very easy to go against despite how fun he is to go against. I love a good Billy, but I'm always pretty confident in winning if I'm not matched with complete potatoes, even if he's a really solid Billy. It is soooo easy to waste massive amounts of time in chase with him, and that's WHY he's actually fun to play against, but why he's not the most balanced killer.

I think the answer is Blight. He's top 3 imo, but he doesn't feel bullshit to play against. I can respect a good Blight. It feels fun to play against one. Unlike Billy, it feels like the match is fair BUT very difficult at the same time. That's what "balanced" means if you ask me.

Others would be Oni (though still very abusable with a good team, however, ONE mistake that gives him an M1 can lead into a really good snowball where he has his power frequently, so it's not as bad if you ask me), Twins against team that understands their counterplay for sure, Huntress, and Doctor with good addons. These guys still have all their problems, but they're going to be more consistent and fair feeling (unless you get hit behind a wall against huntress..) than other killers.

Wraith is way too low on yours IMO. After his buffs, he's much stronger now, easily B IMO. Here's mine anyway.

Blight lower than Billy and Pyramid? Freddy too?

But especially Billy. That's an odd pick IMO.

  • The counterplay to Oni stays the same. Deny his power. There's a problem with this though.

I don't use it, I don't like it, I actually don't mind going against it tbh, but I don't really think it's OP because it's still Oni.

The frustrating thing about it is that I can't really control my teammates feeding Oni but I can control myself feeding Oni. If my teammates feed him and he's got his power the entire game because of them, it's definitely annoying because I didn't give him that very oppressive power, but at that point, the argument is more about bad teammates than Topknot. If players are good, it's not actually going to be that much of a problem to face because Oni's counterplay is no different. I'd rather just have better teammates than have an addon be nerfed. And if I feed Oni his power, which I definitely do here and there, then it's on me. It's my fault he even has the power in the first place.

So...the strength of Topknot really just comes down to how ######### solo queue is. At that point, it's more of a "should stuff in this game be balanced around bad teammates/bad players?" I'm personally going to give MMR a chance and see how much better games at high level are.

However, if it was changed, would I care? Nah. I use other addons. It could probably get a rarity change though, I wouldn't mind that. It's definitely strong for a green.

  • Surge:

Rework the 32m condition. Surge now regresses the 2 nearest progressed generators to you once a survivor has been downed.

Turn down the cooldown to 20 seconds, or literally just get rid of it.

Buff the 8% regression to 12%

Remove the basic attack condition. Triggers upon any method of downing. That's right, even honing stone and deep-wound downs! :)

If you think it'd be too strong with Ruin, then change it back so it only triggers on gens that aren't already regressing. I personally don't think it would be since Ruin is cleansable, but I see an argument for it.

  • Demogorgon:

    • At the start of the match, your ability to enter portals is on a 15 second cooldown (similar to Freddy). You can still place portals during this cooldown.
    • You can enter the upside-down through a portal without directly traversing to another portal. Within the upside-down, you freely move at 11m/s, cannot attack, and cannot interact with the environment in any way. Your hearing is muffled, and you can see within 16 meters ahead of you (with some visual effects and an overlay around it to make it as if you're looking up into the world from the upside-down).
    • Your vision is obviously blocked if you're below any object, but you still see all auras similar to the current upside down so you don't lose a sense of direction.
    • By looking at another portal while you are within the Upside Down and holding the secondary power button for a short moment, you can directly traverse to it similar to current Demogorgon portals.
    • While under any spot that has no obstruction above it, you can hold the power button to come out of the ground right where you are, loudly opening a portal on that spot in the process through a ~5-second animation, and returning to the physical world. This portal can be used normally from then on, but is immediately active and cleansable.
    • If you are under another portal while in the upside-down, you can go through it at a quicker rate than you would traveling to it from afar.
    • After exiting a portal, it can only be cleansed by survivors within a 60 second period afterward. Portals may be picked up by you 120 seconds after they are placed.
    • Rat Liver basekit baby.
    • After traversing to a portal normally (NOT by placing one through exiting the upside-down, but just directly traveling to an already placed portal through the upside-down), Demogorgon crawls on all fours for 5 seconds, gaining the undetectable status and silenced movement during that time.
    • If underneath a completed generator while in the upside down, its lights will flicker because that'd just be cool.

  • freddy is literally just a braindead pubstomper

he's not op, but he requires 0 thought to win as against your average team in dbd, especially with this type of build.

rework should be reverted, and they should make some good changes to the OG freddy so it fits DBD's gameplay and makes him a viable and fun killer.

but no no, let's just keep him as a blood pool spammer that clicks on the objective to go to it. awesome killer design, super fun to play as!

its funny because the only reason people like him isn't because his power is actually fun, it's because winning with ease is fun. it fits the dbd fantasy of winning, not the killer fantasy of killing with a cool power (which is what every other killer is).

  • @MadLordJack said:

You physically cannot use his power unless the survivors don't know how to play agaisnt him. They have enough time with each bump to avoid the following Lethal Rush if they know the basics of positioning themselves against Blight thanks to the shape of the loops. Sure, in the open central area you can punish W-holding, but otherwise there's too many corners and too many round loops. The only time I've ever successfully used Blight in loops on Gideon is when I was experimenting with the 180 exploit to prove how busted it is.

i've been fine with and without crow, but crow is also going to help you immensely in these situations.

the flick is also pretty useful, i'd definitely keep using it! :)

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2030502#Comment_2030502

You cannot use his power in any of the loops. It's just there for mobility, same as every other indoor map.

if you're on pc (if you're on console, then I understand. I hear he's pretty bad in any map), you absolutely can use his power in loops. it's very much so usable in the regular tiles in the first floor as well. some are actually favorable to blight unless they're pallets that are designed to be thrown around immediately, but that actual loops are just fine for blight.

  • @MadLordJack said:

It is the most survivor sided map in the entire game bar Haddonfield, and Blight's second-worst map after Lery's. It's also quite bad for Nurse.

The sheer amount of pallets, coupled with their safety, makes it insanely survivor sided. Ever heard of holding W and predropping pallets? Because Gideon has. But unlike other maps you don't run out very quickly at all, so it's even stronger.

would definitely disagree about gideon being blight's second worst.

there are some tricky spots in the small little rooms you pass through downstairs, but overall, that map is pretty open on the top now, the bottom is also a little more open and easier to traverse, you can force a lot of the god pallets pretty fast by rushing, or you can hit them before they even reach a pallet, AND you can also loop some of the god pallet loops on that map with your power because they're long and straight forward, which is very friendly to your power.

i genuinely don't mind that map as blight, who i hardcore main. never have too many issues tbh. there are actually some nice bottleneck areas in there too.

this map is trash overall though. don't know what they were thinking.

  • since when does pointing out an effective strategy that survivors can use to win mean people think its toxic? lol

just seems like a big complainer thread. I've talked about holding W and do it as survivor sometimes because it can be beneficial to my team. do i say not to do it or that its toxic? no. i don't think anyone did mang.

and i don't care to defend tru3 at all, i literally couldn't give less of a ######### about the guy (no offense), but people i haven't seen anyone point out that this is toxic to do, its just good.

How would you feel if these reworks came to plague and legion?

Legion: For each hit in frenzy you gain a token. Tokens are consumed when frenzy ends.

    1. Nothing
    2. Reduced feral frenzy fatigue
    3. Reduced feral frenzy fatigue and all survivors affected by deep wounds are revealed by killer instinct for 5 seconds after frenzy ends.
    4. When feral frenzy ends you go into a fatal frenzy, your movement speed is drastically reduced for 2 seconds before moving at 5.2 m/s it then lasts for 8 seconds during which your attacks injure and down survivors, hitting survivors in this state adds 4 seconds to it’s duration. Survivors affected by deep wounds in your terror radius are revealed by killer instinct during this time.

    Plague: New ability: Solicit Chant

Interact with a pool of devotion from a distance to gain corrupt purge but greatly reduces its duration.

    • Distance 20 meters
    • corrupt purge duration 20 seconds
    • interaction time 3 seconds, movement speed is greatly reduced similar to leatherface in tantrum, you also chant during this time which warns survivors

I think legion needs a reward system so it doesn't feel like you're just stalling with his power and I feel like plague needs a way to get her corrupt purge easier but with reduced duration since her pools are so RNG with their spawns.

i agree that billy doesn't need a overheat mechanic but doctor is fine. I would rather have an annoying freddy that's just strong in a chase then an annoying freddy that stalls games into 20 minute matches. Myers could also use some buffs but im not sure what they could be.

I'd like to clarify that I think Doctor is perfect, but what I meant was that they should've reworked old Freddy's power in the same way that they reworked Doctor, which was a great rework imo. Change or remove the bad parts of the power, improve the good parts, and add a little more to make it interesting while redesigning the addons for all of it. An ideal rework would ensure that boring stall Freddy is no longer, and a much more interesting dream demon comes out of it.

Love the Plague idea. Going to pools can be suuuuper inefficient and by the time you're back in the map and chasing someone, you might only have 30 seconds left of it. Being able to grab it while in a chase at the cost of shorter duration and a little movement speed penalty is a solid idea. I do think she should also have some type of penalty that increases as someone works on generators/progresses the game in some way while sick, like a hindered status that gets stronger every X seconds interacting with something. The aim would be that it's not an immediate debuff, but something that worsens over time as you don't cleanse, putting survivors in more scenarios where they need to make a decision whether to cleanse or not and then eventually forcing the cleanse out of them because the sickness penalty is almost just as bad as her having corrupt.

Legion's is interesting for sure, and would be along the lines of what I would think is a good Legion rework. I'm still never going to be a fan of the idea of Legion downing with his power as it's not at all hard to hit, however, this idea you're proposing seems fairly situational and requires stabbing the entire team in one go, which can be countered by just splitting up. I'm not at all opposed to it simply because of that condition, but at the same time, it's definitely something that's not going to reach max power every game, sooooo...you're technically giving him more lethality, but you're also not. Thing is, I don't really see any other way of doing this without it being super irritating and too easy to do, so I'm not saying the condition is the problem, but the fundamental design with Legion is. The fact that Frenzy hits are so easy is what's always been his issue, unfortunately. I've considered some ideas that give him a whole separate chargeable ability that's not just an empowered feral strike, but nothing fleshed out.

I do like the idea though, you're definitely onto something there.

    in Rework Comment by Haddix
  • Potentially, yeah. High mobility combined with no cooldown and full invisibility at the range, giving Wraith a serious edge on outdoor maps, is really good, though I have a feeling people are still going to call him trash/low-tier.

Hit and run with his current power seems pretty damn good, but I also haven't seen hit and run used against good players and haven't seen its true counterplay, so I don't entirely know how strong it actually is. However, you can use reliable one-shot down perks like MYC, devour + undying, HG, dragons grip (meh), etc, to get super fast downs.

It honestly depends on how good hit and run actually is against good players. If hit and run is actually a good strat, then yeah, Wraith is 100% better than Ghostface. Having on-command high speed, stealth, and invisibility without any cooldown gives him quite the edge over a lot of killers, honestly.

  • @DBDude said:

So hello again and I am back with another change concept, this time for blight, and with this change it would make his rush, or at least his 5th rush a bit more interesting and dangerous.

So when your on your 5th rush, instead of it being a basic hit it would instead send survivors into the dying state.

Note that on the 5th rush instead of Blight holding his cane, he would instead use both hands to hold the cane to his side as if he was to break down a barrier. And unlike Oni when he holds the weapon on the back of his solder, Blight would make the top of the cane face frontwards.

When Blight does down a survivor with his 5th rush, he would automatically refill 2 out of 5 of his stacks.

Also when on a 5th rush, similar to Oni, you would have no collision to objects.

But also when Blight does land a down on his 5th rush, his fatigue state is twice as long, but that's only when he is on his 5th rush.

So those were my concept for already giving one of the most coolest/strongest killers in the game a bit more uniqueness to him, but ya that's all I had to say.

just run blight tag, an already insanely strong addon for any really good blight lol

also, blight doesn't need any changes or buffs

  • I really don't care what the killer is called tbh. He can be called "the salad" and I wouldn't give a ######### as long as his power is strong and fun, which is what I think is way more important than his name.

Plus, people already know him as the trickster. It's set in stone.

  • Trapper. Outdated as #########. Power simply just doesn't work with the current DBD.

Myers. Also outdated as #########. Power is literally just M1 man with higher numbers in the code when he pops his power. I just wish he had some type of unique ability that changes throughout the tiers, and you can play in any tier you want depending on your build and playstyle. For example, if he has some type of ability that provides good mobility, in tier 1 it's also useful for stealth-oriented gameplay, in tier 2 it's more focused around stealth + chase-oriented gameplay, and in tier 3 it's focused on good chase gameplay. So you'd have mobility in every tier, but the secondary strength of the power would change depending on how you'd like to play the match out.

Legion. I like feral frenzy, I just wish successful Frenzies charged up some type of secondary power that increases his lethality, which is all he needs more of IMO. Maybe some small buffs to the existing power as well, but nothing major. I actually think he'd be in a really good spot.

Plague needs a few changes. Give a reason to cleanse, fix some of her issues, rework her vomit for dedicated servers. I think she'd be good.

    Unrework Billy :D

Freddy. Unrework Freddy and Doctor rework-ify the original power. It honestly had potential, and it's a shame they dumped it for the blandest power in the game that shares a main strength with a previous killer, Clown.

So because you bought a console means that you shouldn’t be able to flick blight. Only pc players get to flick blight. Doesn’t make sense. It’s based on camera sensitivity. If Behavior would up the sensitivity a tad or just make it easier to flick then console players would have it. Just cause you’re playing console doesn’t mean you’re subject to a disadvantage like this. The only disadvantage of console should be controller vs mouse accuracy and fps. Not the freaking game mechanics. Jesus.

I never said this. In fact, I've actually said multiple times in this thread that console Blight SHOULD be buffed and given more control. I've been advocating for that.

What I will not advocate for is taking away control freedom from PC players because consoles don't have it. Consoles should be brought as close to a PC level, not the other way around.

Eh, Freddy is just pure fun to play and feels like what the game should be. A group of survivors at the mercy of an unstoppable force

That's what singleplayer games should be. This is a multiplayer game.

Either way, Freddy's pure fun if you just care about winning. There's nothing in his kit that's all that unique or actually "fun" besides being able to win matches with ease because his kit is so strong in pubs and has the lowest skillcap there is.

His power is pretty much MADE for DBD. The "fantasy" of his power is a DBD fantasy, not an actual "killer" fantasty that all the others fulfill. Being able to teleport to generators and place down pools to slow movement is the most DBD thing there is, it's not like Trapper who fits the fantasy of trapping victims, or Spirit who fits the fantasy of being a haunting ghost, or Wraith who fits the fantasy of being invisible and catching people off guard, or Oni who fits the fantasy of growing in power and being an extremely fast and powerful demon, or Bubba who simply fits the fantasy of mowing down people with a chainsaw, or Blight who fits the fantasy of running after and downing your victims at super speed and being everywhere at once with high mobility. That's where, IMO, the fun of most killers come from in terms of design.

The reason people find him fun, like you, as I said, is simply because he's just a character that's made to have everything and be effective at everything with no risk or skill needed. That's his problem. He's not OP IMO, he's just..overly simple and hands the game to you. He's also just a pure disappointment when it comes to the character of Freddy Krueger lol. Power has nothing to do with being a dream demon.

Of course, some of this is my opinion, but I'd argue the whole fantasy thing is accurate and is what the issue with his kit boils down to. A killer shouldn't be MADE for DBD because they'll just end up too simple, they should have a cool power concept that fulfills a killer fantasy, THEN fit it to the multiplayer game DBD.

Won't they do with Demo what they just did to Wraith and Blight? Mostly QoL? Usually on mid chapters we have bigger changes

Wraith got some big buffs though, not really just QOL. Having that little extra boost on his lunge, being FAR stealthier on open maps with the full invisibility, and FINALLY having good mobility in his basekit are all very signfiicant.

  • It’s hilarious the most famous advocate of 12 hooks (true talent) wants an undying ruin in his tournament. That’s like admitting gen speeds are busted for the majority of killers.

    wym?

I think he should have two seperate abilities Frenzy being his base where he chases survivors and vaults pallets but have a second bar that rises with each stab he gets.

Once the bar is filled he enters Feral Frenzy where each stab counts as a hit with no stun but a short speed penalty after each swing.

I agree with a bar filling the more stabs you get. I've always thought that's a good idea.

I don't know about the power you're suggesting though. It probably wouldn't be too busted depending on the amount of stabs, but it also just sounds really frustrating to have your team feed him stabs and then he just downs me with a braindead power just like old Legion.

I get what you're proposing there though. It's along the lines of a good idea, but I would definitely give it some type of different effect, or have some type of skill required for it, cause getting stabs isn't hard.

  • He's just some guy.

The core argument is that this should either be a calculated feature of his kit or it should be removed. Blight is not balanced around that kind of mobility given that the only downside of his rush is the low turning radius. He was clearly never intended to turn that fast and being able to do so gives you a massive advantage.

So, if we want Blight to keep this, this mechanic should be made accessible to all players, not just ones with DPI switches on PC, and he should be balanced accordingly. If not, which I think is by far the better idea, this exploit should be fixed.

From gameplay experience, from experience watching game after game of very skilled Blights going against players who understand counterplay against it, and having gone against a few flick Blights in private lobbies myself, I cannot agree with you when it comes to it making Blight unbalanced. In theory, I understand what you're getting at; he wasn't DESIGNED around his lunge being capable of what it is with the DPI flick. However, this technical oversight has become a core part of a high level Blight's skill set, and I've seen it add nothing but healthiness and complexity to the 1v1, and in turn, the 1v4 gameplay between a knowledgable Blight player and knowledgable survivors.

With an understanding of how the flick plays out in practice, and not just in theory, I've found it to be unproblematic and actually beneficial to the gameplay. If it were made accessible to console players, I wouldn't complain at all. In fact, I'd love for that to happen. I would enjoy seeing more Blights while playing survivor - especially flick Blights.

If what our disagreement comes down to is our personal preference on whether or not it's enjoyable to go against flick Blights and if you prefer to value the theory of something over the actual practice of something, then so be it. I believe that's where the argument ends.

  • Yes. I recommend watching some scrims against flick Blights.

VeryTrackDisco (https://www.twitch.tv/verytrackdisco) has plenty of tournament scrim Blight gameplay in his VODs against players who do very well against him in chase (all in private lobbies). XenoDBD (https://www.twitch.tv/xenodbd) also plays a flick Blight against good players (all in private lobbies). I believe Xeno was actually explaining and demonstrating the counterplay possible yesterday, though I'm not sure when he did. VeryTrackDisco was doing 1v1's with someone the other day and was teaching them counterplay the other day as well. I'm sure you could find some good gameplay in his VOD to get an idea of how they play around Blight.

Watch them chase, see what they do when they break LOS and make their pathing unpredictable. It's similar to Nurse, in a way.

You also might like watching some of the Blight 1v1 tournament, which shows survivor perspectives as well (and the guys I linked also play survivor against other tourney Blights, so you can find that there too). However, these 1v1 tournaments aren't the greatest examples because they're 1v1s, so they're not afraid to throw down a pallet when you normally wouldn't in an actual game, but that's not ALWAYS the case. Either way, here's one that lasted 6 hours: https://www.twitch.tv/alby/video/893957425 Pure Blight vs. good players.

I know,i was calling it unfair because not being able to use this tech removes a lot of potential lethality from blight.

It raises the skill ceiling of PC blights to a level console blights won't be able to get to at all. That is the thing i don't like.Everyone should be able to get on the same level when investing enough time on a certain character.

Like,i feel it's not really fun trying to learn a character that i know is inherently weaker on my plattform (not looking at FPS and aiming ability).

But i do agree that improving Blight on console should be the priority.

Of course, I understand what you're saying completely. I know of console Blight players who desperately want PC controls with Blight, and I don't blame them or you. He's an EXTREMELY fun killer.

But in this situation, there is no in-game advantage that PC Blights have over console survivors. So, instead of TAKING AWAY from PC, like I said, let's just add to console. Let's make console better. For other killers too, if that helps. I don't want consoles to be super limited when it comes to Blight, but no console player should want PCs to be super limited when it comes to Blight either. Your experience as Blight is bad, right? My experience as Blight on PC is good, right? Then instead of making both of our experiences closer to bad, let's make both of our experiences closer to good.

Even without flicking, console Blight is straight up bad compared to PC. Removing flicking isn't gonna solve any issue, it's just gonna make people unhappy when that doesn't need to happen.

It's not an exploit. Give me a break. You know how you dodge out to avoid a Billy curve if he's curving tight? Do that. You don't even need a super special mouse. I know people who J flick at 1600 dpi. I use 4800-6000 to save my wrist.

Why don't we just hard cap everyone's FPS at a steady 30 so Switch isn't at a disadvantage? Analog sticks were never meant to pan a first person camera. They're inherently limited as to what they can do. That's not a reason to kill the skill cap of a killer. We'd have an extremely boring roster if every killer was designed around consoles.

Exactly. As I've said earlier, I don't understand why I have to have my controls limited to be more on the same level with a platform that I didn't ask to be matched with. Even if I had crossplay off, ONLY playing against PC players, my controls would STILL be limited if they did update Blight or any other killer.

It makes no sense to complain about an advantage that systems that can cost up to several thousands of dollars more than yours have and demand THEM to be limited more towards your controls. I'm all for making Blight better on console, and that's the solution that we should want. But console players wanting to make Blight on PC worse because they have a disadvantage (compared to other killers, they have no disadvantage in-game AGAINST a flicking Blight) that they opted into having upon purchasing a console? That is plain irritating to see.

I'm sorry but this is nothing like "performance is worse than PC" or "aiming is harder on console compared to PC" kind of thing.

Like look at Nurse,Deathslinger or Huntress for example. They are definetely harder to play on console but it's still very manageable.

But the thing with Blight is that this tech makes him even stronger than he already is.Like MUCH stronger. And console has absolutely no access to this tech whatsoever.

And that's the problem.Either give everyone access to this tech or not. This is just straight up unfair and bad design in my opinion.

    Unfair?

The game is PC Blight vs. console/PC Survivors, not console Blight vs PC Blight.

If this game was a game where two sides are given a character - Blight - and you're supposed to both have an equally strong Blight to fight each other, but one Blight has the advantage over the other Blight because one Blight is on PC or console and they have some type of advantage in their controls that is not possible at all for the other side, of course, that'd be unfair.

However, this game is not Blight vs Blight. It's Blight vs. Survivors. You do not have any more of an advantage over console survivors with flicks than you do against PC survivors; both can use the same effective counterplay against a flick Blight.

The reason it's considered unfair is that you just WANT the tech for console. It seems to be more of a jealousy thing. I understand, flicking with Blight is fun. So instead of taking it away from PC for no reason, why not just make Blight better on console? I see his controls are pretty terrible already on a controller, so let's advocate for giving him better control on console rather than restricting Blight on PC when there's no actual problem with it besides the fact that it's unintended, but actually adds to the experience as and against him.
