Why is it when comes to balancing, we always have to consider killers in the hands of the very top players who have tens of thousands of hours and win streaks hundreds of games long, but for survivors it’s “no one cares about comp” and “most SWFs aren’t that good” and so on?
-
Nurse is basically untouched in all DbD history
The word "basically" is doing so much heavy lifting here it's going to win a strongman competition.
-
Wraith should have extra collision while he's invisible. Make him twice as wide.

e: double post

I don’t think additional BP incentives would fix the queue times, tbh. Playing killer with another person is novel and fun enough that none of the downsides matter, the killer queue is still stuffed full. Playing survivor with 7 other people is not that different from playing with 3 other, so it’s not novel in the same way, even with the classes and new abilities.
I don’t think BP incentives will change that. They could make them 10000% and I think the queue times would be basically the same.

nurse has been nerfed over and over and over and over and over

Its only if they have the class skill charged and it uses said charge.
true, but it has nothing to do with being caged twice, which is what I was responding to

Only after being caged twice.
I’ve seen multiple survivors get up by themselves with 0 hook stages and done it myself.
-
survivors in 2v8 have basekit infinite Unbreakable, how on earth are y’all getting slugged so much
-
I’ve reported loads of people using blatant slurs and never get any report feedback. I’m not sure they even look at reports anymore.
-
Survivors getting slugged en masse when they all have basekit infinite Unbreakable seems like a level of learned helplessness that cannot be fixed externally.
Survivors, you have to take responsibility for your own gameplay at some point.
-
I’ve seen two games where killers got more than a 3k. It’s been survivors stomping the killers all day, and it hasn’t even been close.
-
it’s pretty silly how much more survivor sided this mode is this time
-
This is ridiculous.
-
Stop queueing up for a video game you clearly have no interest in playing.
-
this is just getting sad
-
Because dogs are very good
proof: my dog, being very good
-
I don’t think they even do anything with the existing report system. I reported a survivor for teleporting with video proof and nothing was done. It feels like they’ve given up.
-
I see your point, but I think some guidance would be appropriate.

How would tutorials help with the issue you stated though? There's a ton of killers with unique powers and addons/ perks. How is a tutorial suppose to help you memorize all that?
For that aspect, I think a lot more in-game guidance is needed. I know having minimal HUD/on-screen elements is part of the visual design, but IMO that’s doing a disservice to a lot of players.
What I’m imagining is this, for example: if you get infected by singularity’s pods, the game should state right on the screen “use an EMP [with a pointer to the nearest EMP box] to remove the pod!” If there’s a camera in range, it should get a “disable this with an EMP” note. When it re-enables, put “camera re-enabled” on the screen. If he teleports to you, it should say something like “Killer teleported to you because of the pod on your back! Remove it with an EMP!” Once a survivor has this stuff down, they could have an option to turn it off, maybe on a per-killer basis.Same with various sound cues. If a twins player unbinds Victor, it should say something like “Victor has been released!” That way people can actually learn what the sound cues mean.
I’m sure there are game UX folks who could make that better, but that’s the kind of thing I’m thinking about: on-screen, clear messages and HUD elements about the game mechanics.
-
While I agree that a lot of it comes down to survivors simply playing poorly and many of them refuse to get better, I think there’s also a lot to be said for the fact that there’s dozens of killers, each with unique mechanics. If you see a killer once every thirty matches (or even less for a lot of killers), how are you expected to learn their mechanics and how to play against them?
Most DBD players are not obsessive perverts like the rest of us (complimentary 😝), they’re not going to read forums or reddit or watch videos to find out how to play against Singularity or the multiple iterations of Skull Merchant or Freddy or whatever. And honestly, they shouldn’t have to. This game absolutely needs better guidance and tutorialization, in-game and out.

Tell that to tcm, resident evil resistance and evil dead
Tcm= everyone see each other but family cant see survivor perks and survivors cant see family perks
Resident evil resistance = no can see each other until match starts
Evil dead = same reason as resident evil
Do I need to remind you why killers lost the ability switch killers?
Idk why even bother replying to you cause ofc you will always find some excuse on why killer always can get away with stuff but survivors cant. So this be my last time even wasting my time replying to you.
Do I need to remind you why killers lost the ability switch killers?Because they implemented per-killer MMR.
-
I’ve been trying to avoid playing as killers that have special interactables like this for that exact reason. Doesn’t seem fair to survivors.
-
Lucky Break is one of the best survivor perks, I run it in every build, and I get value from it nearly every single game.
-
Everyone cheering for this, you realize these kinds of changes are why you end up going against all Blights and Weskers right? Nerfing a killer into the dirt is just going to drive people back to the stronger killers.

making him 110% is a death sentence for him imo

IMO hex perks should maintain some kind of weaker version of their effect after being cleansed. The fact that they’re so easy to find, can be removed in seconds, and frankly aren’t very strong for most of them to begin with makes them a pretty bad option. Instead of being “high risk, high reward” they often feel like “extreme risk, zero reward.”
If they had some kind of weaker effect after being cleansed, it wouldn’t feel like they’re not worth taking.
For example, cleansed Ruin could lose the automatic regression but maybe it boosts the kicked regression to something between base regression and full Ruin. Cleansed lullaby could maintain its effect but maxed at 2 tokens. Cleansed Devour Hope would lose the mori but still allow instadowns at a high token number (7 or 8 maybe). Just as illustrations of what I’m thinking of.
They’d still be a bad option but it wouldn’t feel completely like a wasted perk slot.

👎👎👎
-
It is extremely fun and good and not at all frustrating as a killer to watch my weapon clip through a survivor's model and still not get the hit.
-
Sure, maybe we can make the gens repair themselves and the gates open themselves too, get rid of all that pesky "gameplay" that survivors hate so much.

she’s cool and gay
-
Survivor, even solo queue, is not a difficult or underpowered role. Survivors just play terribly and openly refuse to get better or use available perks/functionality.
-
Last night I had a Dwight that teabagged and flashlight clicked at me all game, then when I didn’t give him hatch he sent me death threats against myself, my pets, and my family. Zero self-awareness, zero empathy. And it seems like he does it all the time because he was supremely confident he’d never get banned for it.
-
It’s not unfair or toxic or whatever, but it’s certainly unfun. I haven’t heard any solutions that aren’t just huge buffs to survivors (basekit Unbreakable) or exacerbating the DC epidemic (let survivors choose to die after being slugged) though.
-
I was thinking about this and the most ridiculous thing I think they could add while still being arguably horror would be Homer Simpson, due to the Treehouse of Horror episodes. And truthfully, I think I'd buy a Homer Simpson/Treehouse of Horror chapter.
-
I think Lara Croft is the only real outlier I've seen that made me question "is this horror enough for DBD" but also, who cares, it's hilarious and silly and cool that Lara Croft is in the game. The more stuff in the game, the better IMO.
-
It was survivors-who-do-gens-sided. Given the number of games I had where I was literally the only one doing gens, I'm not surprised survivors lost a lot. It's not a game balance issue.
-
no

-
TBH as a killer main I honestly haven’t noticed a real impact from the extra 10 seconds. It can stay IMO.
-
agreed, killers should be punished for playing in a way that their opponents in this PVP game don’t like
-
Seriously though, use EMPs. I’ve been playing almost nothing but Singularity since the first Chaos Shuffle, and the number of games where people either don’t use EMPs or use them once and never pick up another one is astounding.
- Always carry an EMP. Always. There are tons of them, they make themselves up to like 95%, use them!
- Pre-run as early as you can, trying to break LOS with any pods in the area. Singularity is probably going to check the gen with a (hopefully EMPed) pod, and start marching over. If you see the pod turn on, just get out of there. By the time Singularity gets there, you’re miles away.
- Never work on a gen without having an EMP (see item 1). EMP any biopods near the gen.
- If you see an EMP box that’s almost done (they’re yellow), go finish the EMP in it and leave it there for you or someone else to grab.
- When in chase, just break LOS as much as possible. Treat it like you would getting chased by a Nurse.
- The bipods take a bit to lock on, and breaking LOS with them even for a split second is usually enough to keep from getting tagged or slipstreamed, which forces the Singularity to exit the pod and chase manually.
- If he slipstreams you as you go through a window, he’ll either wind up on the same side of the window he started on, or you’ll be able to vault back through as he’s spawning. If he waits a bit after you vault, he’s trying to wait until he can slipstream you and get past the window, so break LOS as soon as you vault. Avoid just running straight after a vault.
- Do not camp pallets or try to get pallet stuns on a slipstreamed Singularity. I know it sounds obvious, but again, it happens almost every game, and people get real surprised_pikachu when the pallet just breaks and I hit them.
-
use the free item the game makes available every five feet and which turns the entire killer power off
-
Wesker feels like the gold standard to me at this point.
-
4 gens done in 5 matches? You’re just proving my point.
-
I don’t think this event or DBD are killer-sided.
You know what I learned in 2v8? Survivors do not do gens. At all. The number of games I had where I was the only survivor out of EIGHT doing generators was absurd. I literally started begging people to do gens in the pre-game lobby. It was so much more obvious with 7 other survivors.
IMO, DBD isn’t killer-sided; survivors just refuse to do their objective.
