Hahaha they seriously didn’t fix this?
-
2v8 makes it so much more obvious how many survivors flat out refuse to do gens. With another 2v8 round starting, pay attention to how often you see this:

erhhhhmmm... mr developer.. isnt this how its supposed to work ☝️🤓
Yeah, isn’t this like the ENTIRE POINT of using the power in chase??
-
it’s very telling how, when discussing weaker killers, people come out of the woodwork to say “actually they’re fine if you don’t try to win”
I dunno man, if the key to enjoying a killer is “don’t try to win” maybe that killer needs a buff
-
The singularity skin is basically a guaranteed seizure generator.
-
Why would I play a weak killer when I can play a strong killer?
-
-
Incentivizing survivors to avoid doing their objective and still get a win still seems like OBVIOUSLY TERRIBLE GAME DESIGN, but I guess I’m not a genius like the folks at BHVR.
-
The anticheat in this game is a joke. I played 3 games today and 2 of them had blatant cheaters.
-
heck yeah voice chat, I’d love to listen to deranged losers shout slurs at me!

I agree with most of what you are saying, but I want to expand on the idea of "guaranteed value" as well. I think that if I bring a perk or item to the trial, I should be able to use it. Its effectiveness should range from 100% but never 0%. Killers used to bemoan old distortion because "it was infinite." It wasn't infinite. Tokens take time to recharge, and if the killer had enough aura read, the tokens would be used up fairly quickly (usually lethal + one other aura read did the trick). I say that because there were ways to get your aura read to work, but you had to work for it.
With lightborn: flashbang, flashlights, and blast mine are all rendered useless. The killer has gotten guaranteed value from the perk, and in turn, the survivors effectively have 0% value for those perks and items.
I agree that players should be able to adapt. I like @100PercentBPMain's comment about forced hesitation. I do find the perk annoying, but I also find it fair. I still have a chance to get a flashlight or pallet save. It's not completely removing my ability to interact with those mechanics, it only makes them harder and it requires an in-the-moment adaptation to gameplay. Lightborn on the other had just outright removes the blind mechanic and rewards the killer with aura read.

The complaints that Lightborn is boring or removes survivor agency are hilarious, because I guess getting blinded when animation locked is the height of excitement and agency for killer players?

I think it’s likely that this survey was just specifically focused on one area, which we’ve seen in past surveys, rather than an overall bias.
-
Freddy's getting put in the toilet for sure
-
It’s a hex that can only activate if survivors break totems and requires killers to go activate it. It has so many downsides without the aura reading, and making its aura visible is going to just ensure it gets broken even faster.

Nah

You do realize the majority of the player base is solo que? We never had this rampant of dc or giving up in the past. Also if majority of your player base is quitting because games aren't fun the solution isn't to ignore them and help the rest or buff them. It should be to buff solo q. The only thing they did was implement icons next to the players name to let you know if your teammate is doing something or not.
DCing was so rampant years ago they had to ADD the DC penalty to try and stop it. The game didn’t launch with that.

I didn't even click on your video and really don't need to. The fact the still frame shows 1 gen down and you slugging is the problem

Most of them just don't want to make any effort. I've had games where I've hooked someone and completely left the entire area and no one even bothered to even unhook them. Then I'd go over to a gen and the person would just keep working on it and not even attempt at evading. Ocne hooked, they'd just give up on hook.
They essentially just want the game to be played with zero resistance, and the moment they feel any, they throw up their arms in the air.
Here's an example. It's only about 5 minutes long. I pretty much just halted the match after how much 2 of the survivors weren't even remotely making effort.
To put in to perspective, I have over 2000 hours, get a lot of stacked p100 squads, a p100 ghostie. Regardless of this, I'll still randomly get matches like this occasionally. These are the kinds of survivors who come to the forums and demand killer nerfs because it's "too hard" that they can't just hold m1 on a gen without resistance.
This is it, completely.
The narrative that “solo queue is the hardest role” has poisoned a lot of people’s perceptions, I think, and that has led to people just giving up super fast because “well, it’s impossible” as soon as a single thing goes wrong. I have over 5000 hours, the vast majority of it as solo queue survivor, and I just don’t think it’s nearly as helpless or difficult as that narrative claims.
-
Very unfair for killers to [do literally anything]
-
I think there’s a visual bug where sometimes the spikes won’t retract, but you can still kick/regress the gens.
-
2v8 was also good for catching blatant cheaters with all the basekit aura reading. Tons of survivors just zipping around at 1000 mph.
Last night I was playing survivor and watched a teammate go down and then crawl at light speed away from the killer. Completely shameless.
-
It seems a lot like breakable walls, where they saw a community idea (finding parts and/or fuel for generators) and unfortunately ran in the completely wrong direction with it.
-
-
”Just apply pressure! But not like that. Or like that. Oh with that perk? Nope! Come on, apply pressure! Oops but not like that either.”
-
As though it isn’t already far too easy to find totems, so much so that they often don’t survive the first minute of the game, let’s make one of the only good ones left glow through walls like NOED!
Being a hex perk is ALREADY the downside! Having to be manually set by the killer which is dependent on a survivor cleansing the initial totem is ALSO ALREADY the downside! It doesn’t need to shout its location out also!
-
Don't play the event, that's what I'm doing.
-
I have roughly a 50% escape rate vs ghoul. I’m running MFT and pre-running earlier than I would against other killers and it doesn’t seem too bad.
-
I’ve observed this using Kindred as well.
-
That seems pretty clearly bugged and unfair. Hopefully they fix that ASAP
-
Don't worry, he'll get nerfed, BHVR always obeys their survivor bosses.
-
For me, it happens after every patch for a day or two, I wonder if it's the game recomputing shaders on the fly (or other such task) and it takes a few games to get that done.
-
It seems like survivors don't want any new gameplay, since every time a new killer comes out they immediately throw a tantrum that they can't just run them for 5 gens on their first game and have to actually take time to learn.
I dunno man. Screaming for nerfs after a single day is pretty sad. -
Survivors just need to adapt and give it more than a single day to learn counterplay, damn.
-
I think they’re pretty funny tbh, but I can see how they can also stifle discussion. I’d be fine with them being removed for that reason.
-
I’ll let you know once she’s out of beta
-
A few of the bigger DBD content creators got caught doing that years ago (pre-MMR), and I don't know why it would be any different now. I think it's pretty likely a lot of them do, but that's just a gut feeling without proof.
-
I’ve seen this as well. Sometimes the pallet stuns me out of my chainsaw, sometimes it doesn’t.
-
I would like to dig through the ditches and burn through the witches and slam.
-
I always like the horror villains who are unstoppable and always moving forward, so I like to do a brute force build which is Leatherface with Spirit Fury, Enduring, Bamboozle, and Brutal Strength. Always moving forward, smashing through anything, never stopping!
If I’m truly just goofing around, it’s a Mad Grit/backpack build and just spam M1 whether anyone is in range or not. It’s very funny which attacks have their animation completely break with Mad Grit and which don’t.
-
I guarantee no one is getting slugged nearly as often as they claim here.
-
Wild that so many people here just get slugging killers for dozens of games in a row and yet I never have it happen to me or see it happen to any of the streamers I watch. Wild, just wild.
-
Still a totally unnecessary nerf, but at least it’s not a daylight murder anymore.
-
the point of new knockout is to stop people from running knockout
-
🦀🦀
-
I think it’s still a great perk and one I run most of the time if I’m not using the perk slot to get an archive challenge done.
-
Someone on reddit slowed a video of xeno gameplay down to show how long the heat dissipation will take, and I simply cannot believe anyone actually thinks this is acceptable.
-
This would absolutely destroy matchmaking, and IMO would just flat out kill the game.
-
Giving survivors an incentive to avoid their objective and still win seems like an obviously terrible design choice (see also: runners just hiding and waiting out the clock in the second iteration of Deathgarden). And yet!
