6th game. 4k. 2 gen's complete..
I went on a thirteen escape streak through exit gates not too long ago, does that make survivor too easy?

I’m currently rank 3 survivor and 8 killer, neither side is easy to play, especially if you face really good players.

Neither side is too easy to play, this is apparent when you’ve put a lot of time on both sides.

None. Using exhaust perks makes you reliant on them, making you a worse player.
You aint gonna get better if you need to rely on exhaust perks.
Then why can I do good with or without them?

BL kinda needed a nerf, it was problematic on most maps.

Happy Thanksgiving

A lot of people are hook rushing rn for the level three mission, sometimes leading the killer to a gen is un-avoidable and hardly anyone actually avoids the objective.

We all know he was talking about the nurse map, his English is fine. Looks like he got auto corrected once.

I read the original post, but that doesn't change my point on the fact challenges shouldn't be stuck on single trials.
My original post: “Excluding endgame collapse challenges, most challenges are fine, you’ll just have to grind a bit. The unhook 25 survivors one kinda sucks too since it encourages bt hook farming and the Trapper one might be difficult but most are still fine.”
Your initial comment:”Honestly I gotta disagree. I simply can't see how "Unhook 2 survivors during EGC and they must be safe hooks in one trial" is not bad. That's an atrocious challenge, and it's not even skill based, it's pure luck.
This is just one challenge of an entire level of poorly thought out challenges. Some more examples of bad ones.
1: Sacrifice 2 survivors during EGC with noed.
2: Hook a survivor in the basement while someone is already in the basement wirth Monstrous Shrine.
3: Escape a trial without being hooked using Spine Chill.
The whole of levels 3 and 4 are just clearly not tested. There's no way a dev tester tried these challenges and said "yea an average player can do this easily." These challenges are pure luck based, and someone on the reddit said it best, they said that if the master challenges were simply not trial restricted, then it wouldn't be as bad as it could still be done realistically, just really time consuming. This is what needs too be done too make the challenges not luck based.”
Why bring up the egc ones claiming that I said they were fine even though my original post says that they aren’t?

I actually unhooked two people during egc but I was doing the unhook 25 survivor challenge

The ds "nerf" was actually a buff. Old DS was only "guarenteed" to go off for the obsession (I know every one could use it after wiggling but many times hooks would be too close by), and the killer could dribble to a hook and render ds useless. Now ds can be used by everyone regardless of being the obsession, and achieve literal survivor God mode for 60 seconds, completely for free. DS should really deactivate when another survivor is hooked. Because at that point it's no longer tunneling.
I got hit more by non-obsession DS than I have by current DS.

I just got to it

I mean, some survivors still say DS is balanced or even 'bad', but y'know, lol.
I don’t have much trouble with DS, I’m rarely ever hit by it.
-
@Chaotic_Riddle by all means, voice your opinion, I just kinda wanted to point out something that I noticed.
@Sairek I also saw people calling fixated trash and inner strength op on release, not saying that mindbreaker is good, because it isn’t but people say a lot of things when something is new.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/107786/don-t-blame-the-devs
A lot of people voiced their feedback about Nurse’s changes and Legion’s, only to be ignored. The Devs are to blame for their own flaws, and that’s not to be rude, but when you blatantly ignore feedback on a daily basis, such as, the current Legion changes, and ignore it in favor of focusing on buffing an already good perk that didn’t need to be buffed, as no one had asked for it to be buffed, meaning that it was already good:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/843/8D65VGDOCZNX.jpeg
then there’s an problem with your mindset. Let’s not forget that there’s been plenty of posts in the past of people voicing their concerns over the Archive’s challenges being too situational and questionable, only to have them ignore all feedback given and just go through with their plans anyways.
I haven’t seen people ask for mindbreaker buffs in awhile, does that make it good? BT is a good perk but nobody asking to buff a perk doesn’t necessarily make it good.

Never played it so wouldn't know. Maybe they were onto something.
You exactly described F13, people still found ways to get chased for awhile, I even had 20 minute chases in that game.

With the current state of the game, yolo-saving will always be an issue. But that challenge encourages people to go for yolo-saves, therefore it's unhealthy for the game.
I don't see a reason why we shouldn't say it how it is. If we pretend that it's not so bad, we will get more challenges like that.
All of the challenges would have to be the same in order to not be abused.
-
@NoShinyPony said:
"Everything like this will have outliers, people will get done with this challenge soon though."
So you are telling me to not play the game for a couple of days because the devs came up with a challenge that encourages ruining the match for other people?
Wouldn't it be better to clearly tell the devs how bad these challenges are?
The saddest thing is that it was clearly foreseeable that something like this would happen with this kind of challenge.
No, I’m telling you that stuff like this will always find a way of happening.

You are completely right: These challenges encourage hook farming and other stuff to throw the game. Happened already to me today.
I really have to think about playing anything else than 4-men-SWF. I'm not in a happy mood after the matches I had this evening.
Everything like this will have outliers, people will get done with this challenge soon though.
@Rinthespooki said:
Might be difficult? Maybe in r20-r15 but good luck having 5 traps cath survivors that are optimal.
Besides that some force you to play swf because trying to do it solo is a giant middlefinger from bhvr to you.
Also dont take this as an insult or an attack, just a mere observation, but i get the feeling you are trying to make these "challenges" not look bad because you want to keep that trusted title, againt not an insult or an attack just an observation and a good one since i always see people trying to defend stuff that is lazily made only to get goodboy points from dev.
(And i have a feeling il get banned for posting this but cant care enough if i get spat by the community everyday for 3 years straight)
I’ve played Trapper in red ranks and trapped five survivors plenty of times, I already said which challenges I dislike and why I dislike them, I gave some constructive feedback, I’m just not going to insult anyone over the challenges.
Wouldn’t of insulted anyone over it before I became trusted.

Add a stamina meter that survivors had to manage. Or add a fear meter which affect them the longer they are being chaste, maybe like stumbling or gradually slowing down or something. Encourage survivors to escape and hide rather than running around a pile of junk like they're in a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
This isn’t F13.
-
Someone dced when I tried this
-
Everything looks good to me. :)

I loop as survivor but I learn how to counter it as killer. Nothing unsportsmanlike about it.
-
I don’t usually farm as killer, I’ll just kill the people and re-que.

Everyone is saying that the game is not killer sided how can you even think that ....I play main survivor and I'm here to tell you that this game is completely killer sided how if you play as a killer tell me this with honesty....how often do you have a survivor if any escape....let that sink in....and I know people are going to say oh you just suck....sure me and every other survivor suck right?....no it's the fact that killers have so much of an advantage it's unreal.....in other words if you want to win be a killer
I did recently have one survivor escape through a gate and I got his teammates because they messed up pretty majorly.

Determination
Determination: I think this’d be too strong.
It depends, the perk won't activate if you perform a hook rescue in the killer's Terror Radius. To add upon that, the killer still gets a hook that requires survivors to get off of objectives.
The point of this perk is to compensate unhooked survivors if they were found again after they successfully hid themselves.
Nerds rule: how would undetectable work for survivors?
Undetectable: Survivors
- Your aura cannot be read by the killer.
- Your scratch marks are hidden to the killer.
- You do not make grunts of pain when injured.
- You do not leave a blood trail when injured.
minus touch: feels like I’d waste time.
This perk can be very useful when there are multiple injured survivors or slugs.
Just heal them to 65% and they will automatically gain a health state by themselves.
This is useful because you can heal someone to 65% then let them heal you to full. By the time they heal you to full, your perk would've healed them — this saves you from wasting 35% of healing time. :P
Obsessed with chaos: this perk seems balanced but nobody wants to be trapped for a minute. :(
It's depends because if the killer camps me, I wanna be trapped because I get an extra 60 seconds on the hook and time for my teammates to punish.
Maybe I could change the perk description to say, "Pauses the Obsession's hook timer for 60 seconds"?
The perk also gives a survivor a haste effect, this effect is rarely seen in Dead by Daylight. Therefore, I thought, why not make a perk around haste since it's so rare? 😁
Everything else you seemed on board with, so I'll skip the last two killer perks! :D
That does clear up all of my concerns. :)

That doesn't really bear out in the stats though. If that were the case then red rank kill rates would be lower than overall kill rate.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/869425#Comment_869425
Define "winning," this isn't identity V where there are clear win, lose, or draw conditions. It's really up to the individual player to decide whether pipping, bloodpoints, or a certain number of kills/survivals constitutes winning. The only thing BHVR has said they balance around is an average of 2ks per match, which the game is not meeting. If the situation were reversed, and the average survival rate was at a ceiling above 75% I would be arguing the opposite right now.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/869383#Comment_869383
I find that hard to believe, but I'll take you at your word. I think it's a mistake to just throw out statistics as meaningless, especially if the reason is that they simply don't agree with my opinion/experience. I've had games on both sides where I've destroyed or got destroyed, but I can't point at any one of them and say that it is representative of the experience of the playerbase as a whole.
Of course there is a difference between causation and correlation. Freddy has around 75% kill rate, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to 0k or 1k with him. It does mean that he 4ks consistently enough to make up for the weaker performances. I'm sorry to say that discounting that evidence just seems a bit disingenuous to me.
I never said they were meaningless.

Theres a second one in tome 4 that requires 4 gens. Its confirmed you only have to be on the gen when it reaches 100% but you would basically have to not be chased at all the whole game and hope your team are god tier loopers with a phobia of gens.
I actually did this recently

That could be confirmation bias though. Do you believe the game should be balanced around your anecdotal evidence as opposed to stats that represent the player base as a whole?
Can I ask what your opinion would be if the survival rate was between 60% and 75%?
Shouldn’t be balanced towards either, stats aren’t enough to go off of when making balance decisions. I don’t care much about the survival rate since stats aren’t enough to make balance choices.

I didn’t know you liked playing Huntress. Thought you were a Leatherface main.
I am terrible at Huntress but I heard that they are looking into increasing sensitivity on console to make Nurse and Huntress more inviting to play.
I stopped playing LF for Huntress
-
Most PS4 players in my experience are average or better.
-
I didn’t get notified of this but now that I’m here, I’ll put my two cents in.
Stats alone aren’t much to go off of, in my experience most people can’t play against Spirit very well which leads to easy wins. The problem there isn’t the killer but people who don’t know how to play against her.
As for Freddy, his slowdown build is strong but I’ve escaped it plenty of times, he is beatable if everyone knows what to do. It never feels like a balanced game to me when I play against clown, I can keep him on my tail for awhile normally and it just feels like he is bound to lose.
-
Also, Nea is my favorite survivor.
-
My favorite killer is Huntress, I love the hatchets and her humming. Welcome to the game and the forums. :)
-
Her face is fine, I’m more concerned about how she sounds like Meg while injured.
