RPD maps worse than ever (for survivors), Weskers proxying and tunneling like they won’t get their daily bread if they don’t.. yeah, this is the patch that saved DbD.

Feature. Just another reason to avoid Open Handed.
Literally the only perk in the game that doesn’t do anything without at least one other perk. And it can’t even do that job in totality. #BHVR

Apparently “all” doesn’t mean all. 🤷🏼♂️

@ReverseVelocity said:
Already been tried and tested, didn't really have any counterplay.
The counterplay was to not camp, as it only worked in the terror radius. And on top of that, it only worked once per trial, and the user couldn’t decide if they wanted to use it in that moment or not.
Not to mention this was when DbD had way more busted tiles and maps. So why do killers still need to camp so hard after 6.1.0?
-
I would definitely take that part of original BT back. BT was amazing when it was both an anti-tunnel and an anti-camp perk.
I would even use it again as a once per match perk if it still functioned that way.
-
You called?

BHVR: Release a new Resident Evil chapter.
Also BHVR: Nerf meme perk from previous Resident Evil chapter on the exact same day, because.

You aren't being held hostage on a hook. You will die once the timer ran out.
You know good and well the intent behind his comment.

I had a similar scenario a while back, where a rando cheating teammate applied the cheats to me and the other survivors as well. Thankfully I’m still here.
But they may be too. I encountered them in another pre-game lobby after reporting them, and I believe it was another day altogether. Needless to say, I immediately left when I recognized them.

Only killer is affected by this, and only because their queue is inflated due to 6.1.0. Revert 6.1.0 or somehow make the game balanced again and your problem is solved.
More help is on the way for survivors tomorrow already. As I mentioned earlier, a new killer is also going to inflate killer queue times.
-
@kisfenkin said:
I think we need to go further than that and I've been saying it for years. The lobby should not exist. You should not have a choice who you randomly team/verse.
BHVR, please eliminate this unnecessary part of the game. Queue up, the next screen you will see is the offerings.
Also agree with this - it should function like DbD Mobile. The only thing I would change is killer's seeing item rarity and if add-ons are attached to the items or not, which for some reason DbD Mobile reveals. But I'd even take that over what we have now in the base game.

The damage it would do to the MMR queue wouldn't be worth the fraction of times it takes place.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3157229#Comment_3157229
You would buy a 1$ epic games account, have it DC on the load screen and the rest of the party would queue without it.
MMR already doesn't work as intended, that's why it doesn't bother me too much if a second go-around it prioritizes speed over 'fair' or 'quality' matches. If a player leaves an already existing lobby, MMR already does this.

Are you sure? I thought no one in the group could queue while a penalized player was in the group.
And honestly, even if it did work the way you are suggesting, they could only abuse it for so long before the penalty started being longer than the queue. It would be a strange exploit to say the least.
They can't; but players currently don't get any penalty while disconnecting during the loading screen.
-
@Biscuits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3157221#Comment_3157221
No what I am saying is. if you punish people for DCing on the load screen it wont happen anymore. There would be no reason to add what you are asking for.
Surely it can and will still happen, even if not nearly as often. I don't see the harm in letting players who have waited the longest for a match get into a game. Killer queues are terrible right now. A new DLC dropping tomorrow won't be helping that.
-
It is the same concept as end-game DS and OTR, which are disabled end-game. So yes.
-
@Biscuits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3157206#Comment_3157206
I don't disagree with you about the loading screen DC, you can see all the offerings and DC for free and not get a penalty. That is not okay. But, if you fix that what you are asking for here isn't needed.
Not true, because the other players all still need to wait X amount of time to find another match again. By pushing them to the top of the queue, it will offset the lost time already wasted with the early DC.
-
@Biscuits said:
I feel like this would instantly be abused by bully squads to essentially work around MMR.
That's why the disconnect penalty should apply to the loading screen as well. Many times it's used to abuse certain offerings from being burned, by either role.

Since DS and OTR deactivate there's no protection. I'm not saying a killer shouldn't camp and tunnel when the gates are open but the unhooked survivor shouldn't be punished. It will increase NOED usage I'm sure which makes sense but 20 seconds is solid.
There are plenty of other survivor and killer perks that only work at certain points of the game. Individual protection/second chance perks coming off an unhook need to be limited to not work in the end game. Killers don’t have any generators left to patrol. They can’t be punished anymore for trying to do their only objective: securing kills. Survivors have plenty of altruistic options. If other survivors made it to the end game.
NOED would only matter for the speed boost if the unhooked survivor is already injured.
-
Agreed, and Reassurance should have a basekit version of some type as well. But we can only dream.
Curious how a lot of those who have replied here dealt with BT before it was basekit? Only change needed is for no basekit BT in the end game, or for basement unhooks.
-
Tomorrow earliest, since BHVR doesn’t have anyone working weekends.

No she doesnt, that was a bug and it was fix back when they gave her the QoL changes she needed
She starts charging when a blink is 99% charged, she'll keep that partial charge until she goes back into fatigue
Wow! Was this patch 5.5.0? I went back and reread the entire patch notes, and it’s not even mentioned if that’s the patch you’re referring to (which it sounds like it is). Up to this point, I presumed it was an intentional feature. Had no idea it was considered a bug. Pretty good job so far.
I’ll update my prior post to correct it.
-
It would stay relevant if basekit Borrowed Time didn’t apply in the end game - which it shouldn’t.
-
Whatever they’re doing to aim dressing lately is making it worse and not better. It’s becoming an issue just about every other match now. I want it off too.
-
@blue4zion said:
Honestly I'd just increase her recharge time. This makes killer mistakes/survivor plays more impactful on a killer who brushes off literally every mistake.
She is not brushing off any mistakes; miscalculating blinks is the difference between winning or losing the game at standard and higher levels of play. Even one missed blink can mean game over for the Nurse player. Have you heard the expression floating around the DbD community/forums that you can't make one mistake as killer without losing the game fairly often? If you don't feel at least some level of truth to the sentiment.. you probably haven't tried enough killer at non-noob levels of play. Because wowee do I resonate with it whenever I play killer (after thousands of hours of play since 2016)!
Edit: typo. It was also brought to my attention that Nurse’s loss of partially recharged blinks is not a thing anymore.

In my opinion it's just ridicious to stand in that same spot waiting 30 mins to just get 4K. I would fix remaining generators but I had tome to complete so I just gave myself to the killer eventually what she wanted. Got headnods and hits on hook ofcourse.
It is - in fact, just as ridiculous as waiting 30 minutes and not repairing gens or giving yourself up. Hypocrisy much?
The hatch doesn’t disappear if you had repaired the gens. Then the killer would be forced to patrol the two gates and the hatch. Therefore still giving you a chance to do your challenge.

This answer is what expected from super killer biased forum.i should just go to huntress immediatelly and say kill me that's survivor objective to get sacrificed right?
Dude, I’m a survivor main. 🤷🏼♂️
You had a perk that increased your repair speed by 75% as the last survivor and didn’t even think to try and use it. You’re not getting any sympathy by calling that killer toxic for countering your Rift challenge and item.
-
You are the saddest player being alluded to in the thread title.. right?

but it sure ain't ######### fun to go against.
It is to me! Even after all these years, still the most fun killer to face in my opinion! Even the sweaty ones!
-
The devs aren’t going to do that. They reworked the two perks we had that did counter killer traps to not do so anymore. Survivors unfortunately aren’t allowed to have too many good perks, even if only situational.
Diversion’s only needed change is to charge during chase as well, not only while in the terror radius and not in chase.

“Huge margin” - Lithe only around .40% behind it according to OP’s own stats:

i was kinda wondering if the new spine chill would be helpful with estimating if youre within 10 meters. like IDK how much needs to be filled to be in that range
Good idea! 26 meters is roughly 72% of 36. So if your Spine Chill perk gauge is about 3/4ths red, you’re in the clear. Then you can manually time it so long as it stays that way.

Keeping track of how much he has you stalked is also important, wouldn't recommending running into a ghost face that has you fully stalked xD
There's no way for survivors to do that. And it's already over by the time you begin even trying to reveal him.
-
@Biscuits said:
Some tips on revealing him.
Distance plays a big part, he can still stalk from far away, but you will take longer to reveal him, generally not worth it past a certain point.
When he is leaning, it takes a long time to reveal, don't bother.
When he is crouched, again, it takes longer to reveal, be careful.
He must be directly in the middle of your screen for you to start revealing him.
How I generally reveal ghost face players. When I see him, I immediately run behind a corner or break LoS, then jump out in front of him when he gets closer and break him out.
Sounds like a great way for him to just stalk you for free - "jump out in front of him when he gets closer". This killer's power is bogus.
-
@MrDardon said:
I an pretty sure AitH only gives you Add-ons but no extra chance on items.
Plunderers gives that bonus.
Correct. Ace in the Hole does not increase the chances of item rarity found in chests. Only Plunderer’s Instinct does that.

Before you say "Just use Distortion". A Nurse's calling reveals auras of survivors who are healing AND being healed. And in solo queue you have no way of knowing if a team mate has distortion.
Well, BHVR needs to fix the game lobby and show teammate perks beforehand. These two perks are fine as they are though. This issue extends well beyond them.
-
Absolutely not. It would legitimately kill A Nurse’s Calling, which is already a niche and seldom seen perk. Run Distortion with it if you want to hide your aura too.
-
100% agree, big inconsistency and would help these perks be seen more often. If BHVR truly is still trying to shake up the meta, that is. These two perks get screwed hard by stealth killers, so charging from chase time would be a fair and great buff.
-
@Spirit_IsTheBest said:
I would buff it's current effect and add new ones as well, here is my idea:
~ When In the Boon's radius, you gain a 2/2.5/3% haste effect, your vaulting sounds are muted by 100%, and you vault pallets and windows 5% faster. These effects linger for 4 seconds after leaving the Boon's radius. ~
Thoughts?
Works for me! Anything more than what we have now.

I still think it'd need a tell, so the killer can make that decision where applicable. Either a tell, or make it intermittent- not all boon spots are one where you can just go snuff it, after all.
It's a good idea, but it could easily be far too strong.
It’s basically Wiretap but a boon instead of a progressed gen. Do you have an issue with Wiretap?
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3151345#Comment_3151345
Might be a bit too strong, but maybe if it's intermittent?
Permanent aura reading with the killer having no way of knowing that it's there would be pretty insane, but seeing the killer's aura for a second every six seconds or so seems like it'd be very useful without being broken.
Remember that it would only be within the boon’s radius, while the killer can also snuff the boon or break it with Shattered Hope.
-
@jesterkind said:
I wouldn't buff its effect at all, as that could too easily snowball it out of control when paired with other haste tools.
What I'd do is look at giving it some kind of secondary benefit, the way Shadow Step hides both scratch marks and auras while in its radius. What that'd look like, I'm not sure- maybe highlighting pallets/windows a la Windows of Opportunity, or something? Faster vaulting? Whatever you pick, it should do two things, since its main effect is both far too weak to be worth running and a boost in an area where you can't safely buff it.
A secondary effect would be good. Reading the perk’s description, it honestly sounds like it should show the killer’s aura while they’re inside the boon area. Thoughts?
-
It is a bad perk for one main reason that no other perk has a problem with: requiring hooking all four survivors to even activate. We’ve all had the immersed survivor in our matches (freaking Jonah as obsession yesterday when my Rift challenge was to kill obsession, ugh. Didn’t care to slug for him, and he found hatch. Joke’s on him, I had STBFL and he guaranteed me no loss of stacks all match, lol. Anyways.). Old BBQ and NWO encourage(d) it and were/are empowered by it, but at the end of the day you still have a perk that does something if you didn’t manage to hook all four survivors at least once in the trial.
Until that portion of the perk is changed, or some other effect is added that doesn’t have that strict of an activation condition, the perk will remain bad.
-
Perhaps it could give an even stronger lingering haste when leaving the area of the boon. So it couldn’t be used to run a killer too strongly while in the boon, but if the survivor took the chase in and out of the boon radius, they could use it to make some good distance.
So for example, 2% still while in the radius, then 7% (or whatever) for the four seconds after you leave the radius.
-
Well dang, maybe if BHVR would have listened to the community and nerfed bloodlust instead of buffing it, maps could be nerfed. But they didn’t do that, did they? Forcing a killer to break a pallet is the only way to stop bloodlust.
They also gave all killers 10% faster actions across the board, and lessened a survivor’s speed boost after injury.
-
I’ve never heard of this, but from what you’ve said it sounds like a reportable exploit.
