A game can't be balanced on bad killers and low MMR because that makes the strong killers way more powerful and good killer mains pretty much unstoppable.
Survivors that are good are pretty much 10-15% of the roster. There is another 20-25% of decent survivors. That means that in every game you have higher changes of getting at least 2 potatoes and a decent survivor who thinks bullying the killer with a flashlight is still viable. 2 minutes into the game and you got 3 hooks already.

After today I have to agree. I think the killer buffs are too much. But we should observe this over the next 2 weeks.
Chase-Buff (10% faster pallet breaking etc. and cooldown after hit) is probably enough, because it helps M1-Killers the most.
But: I am sure the devs will react if that what I saw today (i won all games with Freddy, ALL... with this bad killer.... unreal) continues.
If the kill rates raise too much, they will react. I believe that.
My godson started playing killer today for the rift because he got stomped as a solo Q surv. Lvl 1 doctor, every game was 3-4k.

If someone wants to uninstall, it's better that they do it and don't announceit here... there's no point, no one actually cares.

The only objection is that killers are still camping as badly as before

In what world are survivors getting more interaction out of this update?
You have to repair generators for a longer duration (This is not accounting any regression perks), and chase is shortened tremendously by all the stun/destruction reduction for killers.
They've reduced the interactions required in a game, and simply made it far more easier for the killer to secure kills. I've witnessed more people being camped/tunnelled than prior to this patch.
For example, Huntress has gotten really strong after the patch. They can axe you + hatchet you in 10 seconds.Or viceversa even.
-
Another problem is that the first or second survivor die before one or two gens can be completed. And that's it... you can't win with one or two people missing and 5 or 4 gens left.

I am mostly a killer main, started the game playing as killer, but for the past months I have played countless more survivor matches and have gotten "decent" at it, but still not good, I am facing killers that are not "babies" but by no means are good either and generally the kill distribution was averaging 2k. From my experience the game is 100% killer sided at lower up to almost mid skill levels, with baby killers having an "overwhelming advantage" vs baby survs, survivor requires you to not ######### around and use every precious half a second you got, you ######### up you get hit.
Now, when the survivors become "good", the killers are starting to slowly lose their "advantage". They become locked in full meta perks, they need to play perfectly for a chance at hits and so on, survivors won't make "mistakes" that easily, and even when they do... DH, DS, etc... . An argument would be that some youtubers are still getting huge winstreaks(like otz's most recent all perk winstreak with killers), but keep in mind Otz is not your average killer, his "job" is this game so saying killer is fine bcs he performs well is stupid same goes for other cracked killer mains out there on yt.
Personally as someone who has been and will be mostly playing survivor from now on(bcs im bored of playing alone) I am very satisfied with these changes overall, and while not perfect they are 100% going in the right direction, maybe survs will actually learn the game and not rely on ######### DH every single game, whoever cries about a perk that saw more than 50% playrate, out of 107 perks, and thinks it was "balanced" needs a reality check.
No one's crying about DH. In fact, most of the people complaining about the game didn't use DH before the patch anyway-

Thank god for the accessibility option so I don't have to keep the button pressed anymore.
Tbh, games are killing me. Just.WAY.TOO.Boring.

No, 36 IS big... but now the killer can be looking at someone else, and you can be behind the killer and it will still light up

You know nothing happens if you get reported xD

Random play is enough with the current status of the game.

It's either the action not showing in your screen to trigger it OR... dropping the pallet behind you and ending on the side of the killer -.-

The logic for this patch is so bizarre.
We will make killer easier so they don't need to run anti gen perks all the time.

No of course not killers wouldn't do that.
These changes clearly come from listening to one pov.
It was pretty much like this:
Killers on forums: Hi BHVR, please nerf DS and DH. We promise we won't camp or tunnel or abuse slowdown or regression perks.
BHVR: Pinky promise?
Killers on forums: SUUUUUURE!

I don't plan to quit or anything even when the new patch is pretty crappy imo. They could have addressed a lot of topics but decided to ignore a lot of them.

What? That sounds horrible? So like you teleport to the other side of the pallet after dropping? Because I haven't had any such issues with pallets yet.
That is 100% a bug or some crazy lag from the sound of it.
I'm in the South American servers, from time to time we get yellow/red ping in lobbies for some reason. Wonder if it's a server connectivity issue or simply a bug. But yes, it's bad.

Ok I can't say I have had any problems with the buffs that killers got to their chase. In my experience, the speed boost and hit cooldown are still more than long enough to always get to somewhere where I can fight back. I guess the only problems really are certain maps that can spawn big deadzones in the middle, but even then I haven't really had too many issues after getting hit once.
Even when I went against a STBFL Clown I didn't really have any problem, though to be fair, I think that was on Eyrie of Crow. Which has way too many safe pallets.
I am going to be honest, I just don't see how a 10% reduction in hit cooldown and speed burst would suddenly make so many more survivors get downed right after they get hit once. I just don't see how. Most maps have fairly solid pallet and window density. The only two maps I can see being problematic are Wretched Shop, and in very rare cases, Torment Creek, though the latter map in general has always been survivor sided.
Of course, I still think that more maps should be looked at. In my opinion, there are quite a few maps that should have less safe pallets, and more mindgameable pallets, but with that also just more pallets in general. That means survivors are less likely to find themselves helpless in a deadzone, but more pallets allow for counterplay on both sides, which means killers also find themselves less often in situations without counterplay.
Of course maps should still have some safer pallet loops, I don't even mind a few god pallets. But some maps have too many safe pallets, but in return, not enough pallets in general. Swamp maps are a good example. They are kind of balanced for the wrong reasons in my opinion.
The faster pallet break animation I can sometimes see coming in clutch for killer, getting a down where they wouldn't have before the patch, especially now that DH was nerfed as well. But even then I haven't really had a problem in chases yet, even after these buffs. Not to mention these buffs help weaker M1 killers the most.
In my opinion, survivors should have just gotten something in return. Nerfs to camping and tunneling and/or information buffs to solo survivors. That's the actual problem with this patch, and something I hope will follow soon after. I personally hope they won't revert the killer buffs, especially the chase buffs, as those encourage killers to go for a chases and play fairer. Except the bloodlust buff, that should be reverted.
the thing I've seen with pallets is that I've been dropping them behind me but end up on the same side of the killer... Don't know if it's a bug or what. Happened to you?

I genuinely don't understand how people can enjoy playing against the same perks over and over again for years and years.
Killer experience before was miserable, with a single dead hard costing you 1 or two gens because of the extra chase time.
About feeling bad about all survivors escaping when I'm surv, If the killer only got a few hooks on me, I would show some pity and gift them a Kill because that's ######### rough and we all been there at least once. If a match was already good to me (bp-wise), I don't see any reason why I shouldn't give the killer some points.
You're talking about every killer using the same perks, right? Because that's all I've seen yesterday haha

I am going to be honest though. If you are losing against really bad killers now after the patch, chances are your team wasn't very good either. These buffs weren't that huge that they would suddenly carry bad killers against good survivor teams.
If you were the exception among your team, then again that's a problem of matchmaking. Which is something that sadly doesn't seem to be getting better in the near future.
Not saying BHVR won't have to do something to help survivors, at least solo survivors, out a bit, especially among the low ranks, but still.
Bad survivors in solo Q are a real issue and I won't deny that. Also, survivors that want to troll the killer and they can't anymore but they still try to be bullies... they just ruin the game for everyone. I'm not a god looper but I'm pretty good at it and still, I found myself into situations where bruteforce made everything I could do useless... like hitboxes, for example, and the fact that basekit buffs for the killer do not go well with how poorly some maps are designed. If they hit you, there are lots of places where you can't make it to a decent loop before being hit again because of the buffs they received to cooldown hits and the nerfs survivors got with the after-hit distance being reduced. I've mentioned this in another post but I've seen lots of people being down from 10 to 15 seconds after they were initially hit. This didn't happen before I would say...
-
The only way you can escape 8 out of 11 games is if you hide in a corner and wait for the hatch with a purple key... or that you're matched with SWF... or that you're not really a solo Q survivor.
I have thousands of hours into this game and, yes, I am a bit more lazy now than what I was a couple of years ago so I chill and goof more, but that sort of escape rate wasn't even real before the patch.

Solo ques problem is bad teammates. You can't buff that because if they git gud, they will be too strong. Plus there's no patch that can make an unskilled player good. You can give them all the tools in the world. It won't help them until they learn to use them.
Basekit kindred would change things big time... most of the issues you see are people leaving gens to go save someone when the killer is camping... and it's all 3 survs at the same time. That's when you know they don't play together.

I don't believe any of your killer experience is true, not even in the slightest. Based on what you complain about and how you go about doing it I'm going to say you are a 95% survivor main 5% occasional daily ritual killer player. It's fine if you dislike something but don't assert yourself as some kind of experienced expert when you know full well that you aren't.
I am a daily ritual killer and I destroyed survivors before the patch and I'll most likely 4k every game now.

This game is still incredibly survivor-sided--even in solo queue.
I'm sorry, but the average survivor is a complete airhead. That, or they play this game with a fraction of their brain, because the game has repeatedly rewarded them for doing so.
Basic concepts like "divide and conquer/split pressure," "take aggro/play safe" or "create space/don't loop near the f'ing hook" are completely lost on 90% of the survivors I come across.
I was in a lobby earlier today where the Jake stared at me doing a gen for 30 seconds, then deliberately walked into a zombie and tanked 2 hits before urban evading into the corner. I followed him, and we wasted the next 2 minutes together as I tried to deduce if he was AI or an actual player. Jake survived for at least 8 minutes, and finished the trial with 4k bp.
We completed 4 gens, and I died on first hook. How do you think that game would have gone if our Jake had even half a brain? My poor teammates are probably crying "this patch stinks, the killer is too strong!" when the problem is clearly not the killer.
This was an extreme example, but I see player behavior just as egregious on a daily basis.
Survivor is still a joke, and those that struggle to learn simple concepts should not be catered to. Learn how to play the game.
Nothing you can do about it. Unfortunately the survivor that does know what they're doing gets screwed up because they're matched with 1, 2 or 3 survs that don't or that are still learning.
And the fact that this game provides no info for survivors that are playing solo, makes it even worse.
-
I've liked the fact that I see Hillbilly a lot more now and how stronger he is, compared to yesterday... maybe a bit too strong sometimes haha

Survivors are crafty, they'll adapt. Re-learning how to run tiles without dead hard is gonna take time and practice, and everyone's sense of how much distance they can get off a hit / palette drop is also shorter than they're accustomed to.
the maps should be redesign to the point where looping is viable again... or else it is just a hack n slash kind of game in some tiles

That was sorta the experience I and a lot of others got. Obviously not EVERYONE used it, but damn nearly so. But maybe the mounting and staggering amount of survivors suddenly dashing forward to a save palette or vault or through me and my hits was all visual bugs? Who knows?
I, for example, only levelled up David when he "became" gay to use him with the new shirt he was given in the pass xD

Well, I always used spine chill because I have hearing issues on one of my ears...
However, today I had to remove Spine Chill. It's bad. I'm not the type of guy that will run when spine chill lights up but at least I know something might happen soon. Today I was doing gens and spine chill lighted up... I looked around and the killer was chasing someone else and not even looking at me...
I decided to remove it even if I have no way of knowing when a killer is nearby

THIS! DH was such a strong perk that it consistently boosted a lot of survivors to higher MMR brackets then they actually belonged, without ever needing to learn how to loop properly.
DH was actually a crutch for a lot of players, and without it their lack of skills are showing now. On the other hand killers are getting now a lot of hits and downs that were negated with DH, but that under normal circumstances should have been there's. A lot of survivors just had no idea how much validated DH boosted their performance.
But people will adapt and many will learn how to loop properly now; which I don't mind, looping can be fun when you get a fair chance to get your hits in when the survivors make a mistake. I faced a squad earlier with 4 Lithe, but that didn't bother me at all. They got away a few times, at others I was able so close the gap pretty soon, but it all happened at once and not some 40s into a chase.
I encountered a single DH user and he landed his parrt, but that was ok, too. The whole game feels less oppressive for the killer now, and it was sorely needed.
It's funny you assume everyone used DH...

I'm a casual "ok" solo survivor who has been playing for a couple years. My games haven't been too bad, but my escape rate will definitely drop. As long as it's not by too much I can deal with it. It's been interesting looking at my team mates builds, it's a lot more diverse than it used to be (meta perks were never my thing personally) but the killers have all been using the same or very similar builds. I can see why killers got bored seeing so many survivors with the same build. I think that will end up being a big downside to this update.
Exactly- What killers have complained about for so long is now happening on their side. Same builds, same strategies. I'm a chill solo Q player and I haven't had fun. I don't know if it's my server or what but I'm not enjoying the update. It feels like some already good killers are even worse to deal with.. like nurse.
-
isn't that because not enough people are playing survivor now ?
-
I wonder why killer mains think it's great to have super easy wins...
Let's not talk about SWF... let's talk about solo Q games. You as a killer probably had easy games in the past before because of baby survivors or had to sweat your ass off. And it was fine, as long as some mechanics were not abused.
Me, as a solo Q main surv, had lots of fun playing survivor even if it meant dying... because I had the means to make it harder for the killer to get me or I had the means to help myself survive more.
Many of those resources are gone so now you know the killer sees you = the killer downs you. Yes, you can still have some loops but not as efficiently. And I never ran DH or DS by the way.

awful survivors deserves to get 4kd by awful killers, which wasn't the case in past.
And I agree, totally. But now you have the case where good or decent survivors still get killed by awful killers because they changed the mechanics to allow this. For example, I just played a game versus the Huntress. She was axing people and taking them down with the hatchet in less than 10 seconds simply because the cooldown between hits is reduced, the distance a surv gets after a hit is reduced and some maps are awfully designed with dead spaces.

They changed it where if the killer has line of sight on you, YOU get a BUFF on speeds. That's the only thing line of sight does, now. You're guaranteed to know if there is ever a killer near you at any given moment now permanently and without cooldown without any line of sight requirements. It is now literally IMPOSSIBLE for a stealther to sneak up on someone. They are given 32 meters of advance notice which is plenty of time to run away.
That has always been spine chill...
