As an alternative, you could make it so that a gen will continue to regress if a survivor isn’t on it until the survivor makes a successful skill check. Once they make a skill check they can leave the gen and it won’t regress. That would eliminate the “tap a gen for a split second and it’s fine” thing but still allow survivors to stabalize a regressing gen with a few seconds of effort.
Aside from the times I somehow work a gen for 15 seconds without a skillcheck, I like this idea too!

Crouch to avoid the Killer Instinct. Boom, countered.
-
Yep, people haven't figured out to crouch around Victor yet is my guess. Charlotte isn't an effective camper with that cooldown.
-
Opening chests is a gamble. You might get a top-tier item, you might get trash. Is what it is.
I'm cool with removing or buffing broken keys. Toolboxes are fine though. They're meant for sabotaging now. Games went too fast before the toolbox nerf, sorry.
-
This is why I usually only get the weapon part of the skin. At least you get to see it in action throughout the match.

I don't know why I even play this game anymore. Everyone that plays it only does so hoping they ruin everyone else's experience. It's so draining.
I do my best to be a good sport. I usually give hatch, almost never use moris/keys unless for a challenge. As Survivor I don't flashlight click or whatever. But yeah, I can understand if the toxicity gets to you after playing so long. Just want you to know some of us try to make a positive impact :)
-
Hasn't it been months at this point, and we still haven't gotten an update on it? Still can't switch Killers in the lobby this whole time by the way.. pretty good job so far.
-
An unpopular opinion for sure. If they had left it at 100% increased lunge, I would've given it a shot. It seems too niche to me to be worth getting the new DLC for it.
-
+1. I would be happy to avoid these tactics as Killer if it were always viable to do so, but it just isn't. It's up to the devs to incentivize Killers to play for 12 hooks and actually give them a chance to win if they "play fair."
-
Just commenting to express my disappointment in this patch. Usually I look past the problems because at least the new content is interesting and the bugs can sometimes be fun. But this many severe bugs is completely unacceptable.
-
Interesting because when I play solo, my teammates almost always 3-gen on Azarov's and that's gg.

Thanks
Right? They only shaved half a second off the cooldown.. It's hardly spammable.
-
He's always been bugged, even before the rework. False saws, bumping into pallets instead of breaking them, etc. So to answer your question, no.
-
It's one of the few perks I don't have unlocked actually. If they buff it to work when injured as well, I'll give it a shot.
-
The Collector! Not sure people would enjoy another trap-based Killer, but that movie was some excellent horror.
-
Late to this thread, but since no one has mentioned it, Clown is confirmed to be getting buffs. So at least there's that :)
-
I guarantee they won't be removing "fodder" items anytime soon. Just recently they added a bunch of offerings with little to no value. The more crap they can clog in your bloodwebs the better in their minds.

I rather see everybody using sprint burst and being able to choose if i'll chase them or catch them off guard a bit later when it's still on cooldown.
Sprint burst just gives survivors a headstart and won't affect the actual chase itself (unless they 99 it but that's pretty rare to see). That means i can go for good mindgames and power plays without having to force a dead hard first.
So Sprint Burst is your poison of choice :D Personally I think SB and DH are of equal strength in the hands of good Survivors (depending on map and Killer choice).
-
Because solo queue teammates are unreliable, so Ruin/Undying can win games outright sometimes if you get some decent totem spawns, especially on indoor maps. And it's unreasonable to ask that I run a map or totem perk every game, since you need perks like Kindred in solo queue, and builds are already cookie-cutter enough without a dedicated totem perk slot.
On the flip side, SWF usually beat Hex builds with ease, so they have no reason to complain.
-
If they nerfed Dead Hard, everyone would migrate to Sprint Burst. Pick your poison I guess.
-
To OP: Trapper. The feeling of catching someone in a trap is simply immaculate.

Off-topic, but what's your fav Saw? 1 is obviously a horror classic, but 6 is highly underrated imo.

Sounds like she used Mint Rag which allows her to teleport at will to any trap, triggered or not.
Counterplay to this would be to unhook quickly and don’t worry about triggering the trap. This is because that add-on has a cooldown between teleports. (I forget how long, but it’s significant, like 45 seconds or something.)
Only 15 seconds actually. Not enough time to play around the cooldown really.
-
Great post. +1 for recommending Kindred and Bond. Literally a solo Survivor's best friends (except Spine Chill :))
-
I'd like to add: one strategy you could try is 2-man saves. One person eats the MYC and one bodyblocks. No way you'll pull this off in solo queue, but SWF could probably do this if they're good.
-
I made a post about this build a month or two ago. In my honest opinion, you need flashlights to beat this build. Like you said, it doesn't matter if you crouch or not, you're going down after the unhook guaranteed. So the only way to counter it is to destroy the trap so Hag can't teleport. If you don't have at least one flashlight, I don't see how you can win.
This is assuming SWF too. It's almost impossible to beat this build without comms.
-
I like them because knowing how to play around each one is the difference between a good and bad player. That being said, it can get a bit overwhelming if too many of these perks are added. Players will be more likely to make mistakes when more of these perks exist.
It will be interesting to see how Power Struggle affects the behavior of Killers.
-
Like PyroGL said, it's a simple fix that's been asked for forever. Little things like this are why many people are frustrated with DBD imo. The laundry list of little issues grows every patch, and they keep adding DLC instead of addressing it.
-
My dude, there are 7 generators per map. Pop can only be applied to 1 at a time. Likely what's happening is you're going down too quickly and letting the Killer get Pop over and over again. The perk is only as good as Survivors let it be. Git gud.
-
No. Find the Hex totem. Tinkerer is not so good without Ruin.

If the devs actually said this then that would be quite ridiculous cause for one: why can killers open the doors themselves? and for two: isnt that the exact purpose of blood warden?
Hate to break it to you, but yeah they said it. EGC was only introduced to keep players from taking the match hostage after it's over. Blood Warden was not designed with EGC in mind, and besides that's a perk not a default game mechanic.
That being said, I agree that gates need some work.
-
More like best builds for noob-stomping. Hexes are unreliable against good teams, and any Survivor worth their salt can easily counter/juke BBQ.
Tinkerer is good, but it requires Ruin to get consistent value from it, so again, unreliable.
Surge is just bad. Only reliable on maps where gens are always clustered together, like The Game and Midwich. If you get a big map, you may as well have an empty perk slot.
Just my opinion.
-
Why dream? You can easily find a swf and try it instead of praying for a unicorn :p It'll never happen in solo queue.
If Open Handed did literally anything without requiring other perks, more people might try it.
-
The devs did mention Prestige rewards awhile ago. But we've gotten no update since.
Prestige is a waste currently, especially on Killers because of the first-person camera. Until they make it worth it, I could care less if they add more Prestige levels or not.

Laziness.

TBH, the "extra regression" amounts to about 0.5 second added on to the time it normally takes to make up for a standard failed skill check, which is around 7.5 seconds, so its barely even noticeable. Whereas the lack of gen explosion and audio notification to the killer for failing the skill check is Hella Noticeable. If I'm playing survivor on a friday or saturday night with my friends and we're just goofing off while innebriated, Technician saves our asses every time, Otherwise if playing sober, its still very handy in the situations OP mentioned, as well as against Overcharge, Unnerving Presence, Lullaby, etc, and a FANTASTIC tool for new survivors who need to get used to nailing skillchecks. Overall, the perk is a win/win in any build, with a downside that is barely game worth mentioning.
Oh yeah, and it still quiets the sounds you make when repairing a gen by making them audible in only 8 meters of it instead of the normal 16... I've had so many killers completely shoot by me while repairing a gen because they didn't know I was there and repairing it. So, "Gen ninja" became an endearing term among my friends.
Just to clear up some math here, the standard failed skill check regression is 8 seconds of a gen. Technician adds 2.4 seconds.
-
Aside from Moris, the easiest way I've found to 4k is play a stealth killer on an indoor map. It's super cheesy.
-
I like using Enduring + Spirit Fury because at the end of the day Ghostie has to hold W and M1 to get a hit. Slap on a slowdown perk and a tracking perk of your choice, and you're set.

Where are the patch notes? I can't seem to find them.
-
Coup De Grace was already a pretty situational pick since it depends on gens being done, and you can't choose when to use a regular lunge and an extended one.
Now with the distance being nerfed, I'd say you're a sucker for ever running that perk.
All the rest of the changes are good, though.
-
It was too easy to stockpile good add-ons. Many Survivors could run the best add-ons every game and essentially never run out. Add-ons really make a huge difference when you consider all 4 Survivors can use them. And lastly, I think it's only fair Survivors lose add-ons since Killers do as well.
-
This change would further the divide between the top-tier Killers and the rest, so I see it as a step backwards. They should either nerf the speed boost or rework the mechanic instead of scrapping it entirely.
-
I don't enjoy Blight because most of them run the same build. Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, BBQ.
-
Freddy with Paint Brush + Swing Chains makes it very easy to win even for bad Killers.
It's true that Oni can snowball much faster. But I would argue Freddy is overall more consistent in getting the 4k, even if it takes him longer.

Power struggle is not op but just for existing the perk is game changing. The killer need to change the way they play just like head on its annoying tbh.
This is the important point here. The power in this perk is its existence. Survivors will benefit from this perk without needing to have it equipped.
-
If you suspect the Killer will tunnel right off hook, then the smart play is to leave them on the hook as long as possible. The rule of saving before 2nd stage does not apply vs. Moris. Very few people seem to understand this in solo queue. That or they don't care.
-
Off for Survivor, On for Killer. I like being able to chat with my teammates before the match starts.
-
Well 3/4 Pigs don't respect the boop haha. One time I got flamed in post-game chat for trying to boop. I love memeing around but most people who play this game take it way too seriously. It'd be way more fun if we'd just all relax and enjoy dumb things like this.
