Yeah, in early 2022 we had a problem with an user (or more than one, I am sure) posting gore here. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of the lucky who didn't see it.
Extremely disturbing.
-
Yes, I agree.
The "gore guy" should have been the last straw. This shouldn't keep happening, especially on weekends when it takes a long time for those threads and comments to be taken down.

The art team in general is phenomenal. Like, visually, the map design team has yet to miss, imo.
True, but I still think they were better before the map reworks. Still not a fan of those changes.

All we need is BBQ and DS.
The perfect incentive and the perfect punishment.
-
Not sure Freddy can trigger this bug, to be honest.
I tested it in a Custom Game, but it didn't seem to work.
-
Wesker.
I genuinely DESPISE this character. It doesn't matter if I die or escape, the moment I see the killer is Wesker I just want to leave the game as soon as possible.
Terribly designed killer that should have never been added to the game.

Oh I know that objectively it's the same or even less, but it just felt nice getting to 4 stacks and seeing your total double.
I agree.
Especially BBQ. That honestly took priority over killing survivors or defending generators.

It isn't bannable. Poor sportsmanship on their part, as @ReverseVelocity said, but it isn't something you can report people for doing.

Pretty much. You don't really benefit from saving your traps and it's usually the better play is to use them early for slowdown pressure. If you're really wanting to do anyhting end game, then you'll have to use them in the mid-game or around 2/3 gens remaining.
If you have the time, or anyone interested, I was going to post this video here cause it's really good for all our fledgling Pigs to understand the history of our lady, Amanda. She's also the blueprint for many killers that came after her.
If you find you are asking yourself questions like, why does it work like that? Is she missing something that should be there?? That's because she's never fully recovered from the biggest nerf she ever got when they severely crippled her end-game ability with 0 buffs or compensation to match. It's worth the few minutes.

Never forgive the Endgame Collapse for killing endgame Piggy.

Oh so, there is a chance that some of the licensed killers will never appear in 2v8?
That's a really bad news.
…Mentally preparing myself to never see Freddy in 2v8.

They have to sort out how all the killer powers interact with each other for sure.
And it seems fairly obvious that the killers that add map elements (Sadako's TVs, Freddy's alarm clocks, Pig's Jigsaw Boxes, etc.) will the be last, if they are ever added at all.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3812565#Comment_3812565
Unlike Lights Out and Chaos Shuffle, it was insanely popular. I think many (if not most) people played it almost exclusively while it was running.
To be fair, they could just delete the Alarm Clocks for 2v8.
That actually would make Freddy slightly better. No more immunity to falling asleep (which, just like the Clocks themselves, should have never been added). And it makes adding him to 2v8 a bit easier.

Come on, BHVR. Do it for the General, if not for Freddy. So many people here support his case. That has to be worth something.
Pretty please?
Well, we will never doubt it is worth something, my dear friend. Because it means the world to me. I appreciate all of the support I've received throughout the years and it warms my heart to see that people understood how awful it felt to lose your favorite character and decided to extend a hand in solidarity. I'll always be grateful for each and every player who saw my Old Freddy campaign and decided to support it. You are the best <3
But at the end of the day, this is up to the devs to consider. I am more than happy to offer this feedback, to be the voice of the Nightmare when few are willing to be, but unfortunately I cannot and make the change myself.
You know, back in 2021 there was one Forum member, who I will not name, that really disliked my ideas for Freddy. He was often disrespectful about it too. And at one point, he compared it to a cult. He then said I had other people "subscribe to my problematic views" and "regurgitate everything I said". I stopped taking him seriously after that, of course, but sometimes I wonder if he ever understood, before getting banned, that I was just a player who really wants their favorite character back.
That I say what I believe is the best for Freddy and that I hope, from the bottom of my heart, that the devs listen.

I remember the event! And wow what an introduction to the game. I can see how it left a lasting impression. 😊
Frosty eyes for Clown that’s right!!! 😂😂😂
Thanks for the trip down memory lane 💐
The theme alone already sent shivers down your spine. Then I played my first DBD match as survivor, against a Huntress in Azarov's Resting Place. Huntress is very scary when you are a new player, especially back then with the Fog and the horror atmosphere still intact.
I loved it <3
-
Ah, there is only one answer I can possibly give ya, my friend, and it is the 2018 Winter Solstice event.
Moonrise is a close second, of course, and I agree with you regarding Blood Moon. After they fixed the issue with the offerings it was pretty good, I even managed to get my Freddy to P100 during that event.
However, nothing beats the Winter Solstice of 2018, because that is when I first started playing DBD! I remember the moment I first heard that amazing Winter theme:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wdcp8xl5WPQI actually thought it was the game's main theme, so imagine my surprise when it changed when the event ended.
It wasn't an elaborate event like many of the others we've had. It featured a Blood Hunt, Winter Party starters in the Bloodweb, hooks with Christmas lights and a few new cosmetics were available (Ugly Sweaters and Frosty Eyes for Clown, Spirit and Legion).
Not much when compared to others, but to me it is very special.

Just realised that the corrective action changes in the upcoming dev update are basically yet ANOTHER nerf to freddy lol. It renders his skill check addons useless. Poor Freddy keeps losing and losing time and time again
And those add-ons wren't even good, because of Alarm Clocks basically removing the idea of missing skill checks being Freddy's counterplay.
It is best to use the Blocks or RPB, which are basically the only things he has left.

Couldn't have phrased it better, i hate explaining to the people to think further than "Me no like [INSERT CHARACTER], me like nerfs, me no like buffs, me not want balance", she shouldn't get Freddied and Freddy should not have gotten Freddied, because Freddy was the bad precedent, it should not be reinforced.
Exactly.

But what is worse:
- Leaving a problematic killer in a problematic state.
- Nerfing a problematic killer with by far the highest kill rate in the game in order to lower pick rate and kill rate before an eventual rework.
I would argue 1 is far worse. The mistake BHVR made was releasing this killer with this power in the first place. That is the precedent they should avoid. 2 is a better way of mitigating the damage than 1.
Ideally they could fast track a rework, but they tried that, and it didn't solve the problem. I have no problem with them taking their time on this, and don't think it's a bad precedent at all to take your time and make an appropriate change.
I would love to see them slow down the DLC release schedule and improve the quality of what they release, but this will never change. One way or another they just need to stop designing terrible killers in the first place.
I don't think this is correct, my friend. This isn't a situation where only those two options were available.
The last changes made to SM which drastically altered her power were in 7.3.0, and we're already close to the release of 8.3.0. If it was clear that her rework had failed then time should have spent altering her power and fixing the issue. 7.3.0 was almost a year ago, after all.
Leaving a character in a terrible state while the players wait for changes is something I'll never support, because my favorite character is going through that process right now, while the entire situation was avoidable. This isn't a solution, it should never be done.

RIP to my last Glass Splinter that I lost when I prestiged Freddy.

If I had to choose which one of those two to remove, it is Trickster.
If I could remove any killer from the game, then the answer is Wesker.

Yeah, I would be sad if this zero sense nerfs were to a good killer, but, skull merchant? Nobody cares
I think the problem isn't who got the changes, it is what those changes are.
It is good that they made some adjustments from the PTB, but severely nerfing a character and then waiting a long time to fix them isn't a good solution. Freddy's reworked power was unhealthy for the game, we all know that, but the situation should have been solved right then and there in 2019. Not nerf him in 2021 and then wait until 2025 for a proper rework.
SM players are lucky they'll only have to wait one year, at least. But, as @supersonic853 said, this reinforces a precedent that we should move away from.

I suspect Freddy's changes will be more deeper than Mikey's. I always felt Mikey doesn't need an overhaul. Just buffs to his existing kit.
I agree completely, my friend. I even think Myers will get his changes before Freddy does.

That's what I'd tell myself, anyway.
Now that I think about it, I definitely shouldn't tell myself about Freddy.
Because if the GeneralV from 2018 knew what would happen to Freddy, they wouldn't keep playing DBD. And if I didn't keep playing DBD, then I wouldn't be here to talk about this topic of time travel.
It would create a paradox.

GOD - I am so so sorry my friend. Nobody should have to wait this long to play a license character that is already in DBD. Its just crazy. Push back the tweaks for plague and cenobite. Freddy needs to be on the list ASAP NOW SHARP.
Yep. I don't understand how can Plague and Cenobite be greater priorities than Freddy, when neither of them have been in need of a rework for years.
I completely agree with your recent post, btw, Freddy should take priority. It is unacceptable that he has been left to rot for such a long time.

Tbf, people from 2017 wouldn't of been opposed to Freddy's rework. Most people were on the side that he needed one.
Of course we know better now, since it turned out to be sort of a disasterNot just the rework, the whole story. The nerf that followed and then over two years left to rot? It would be a shock.
If you told my 2018 self what would happen to Freddy they wouldn't believe it.

You are comparing things you have to bring with a mechanic you get for free.
And to be honest, Bloodlust Tier 2 and 3 are obsolete. Because you have either mindgameable Loops, which the Killer should be able to play without just forcing Bloodlust OR Loops which need a Pallet to be kicked, which removes Bloodlust anyway.
But what we currently have is a lot of weak, mindgameable Loops which are just bruteforced by the Killer without any mindgames, because they can and it is beneficial for them.

To be fair, this is has more to do with map design being horrible ever since the Realm Beyond, rather than Bloodlust being in the game.

Yup definitely. They already said last year he was deprioritised because of Skull Merchant. This will be like her 3rd rework before Freddy gets anything.
And they gave Skull Merchant some "in the mean time" balance changes before her rework so there's no reason they can't also just give Freddy something small until his scheduled update either.
At this point those Freddy changes better be something major otherwise this is ridiculous.
Wait, for real?
This is news to me, my friend. I wasn't here for the Skull Merchant situation, when I got back to the game she had already been reworked.
…Yeah, this situation was already bad, but now it is absurd. Especially considering Freddy has been in need of a rework since before SM was even released.

True, but I feel like the Twins was left on the back burner for so long because they are so unpopular pick rate wise. Nobody really cared much. Nobody was pressing them to hurry up with it.
Unlike Mikey and Freddy who have the masses constantly asking for them to get some love.

That is what concerns me, my friend. The Twins only got their rework after a long time, and everyone disliked it.
