Myers is set for a change but, just like Freddy, we don't know when they'll change him.

Thats exactly what the mode was designed as though? Everyone gets a random assortment of perks and sometimes you can get good stuff, sometimes not
and I’d rather not see Lights Out again that game mode is awfulI honestly like the concept of Lights Out, my old friend, but I don't want to see that mode again unless Freddy is available. Having him excluded twice was awful.

It is shocking how Nightmare is generaly always seen in top killrate stats, but always seen among the of the worst killers.
Only solution for this that comes to my mind that in low MMR (casual or new survivors) any Killer that doesn't have simple power to understand they usualy end up dominating the charts. Maybe that's why they don't rush to buff Freddy since he is in pretty good spot in terms of killerate.
You also have to keep in mind Freddy has one of the lowest pick rates in the game. Each individual match with him will have a bigger impact than, say, a match with Blight.
Not to mention Freddy is often picked by experienced players, because there is little reason to play him unless you like the character.

Everything in chaos shuffle should be random, including items and add ons for both killer and survivors and the only available offerings should be bp related.
I second this.

Yes.
It isn't as fun the DBD I fell in love with in 2018, of course, but it can be fun.

I almost agree with you but Freddy won't be the worst killer anymore. Skull Merchant is going to be unplayable after this at least Freddy is somewhat playable especially with fake pallets addon but she is done for.
I almost agree with you but Freddy won't be the worst killeral anymore.
He never was ;)
Weak? Yes, undeniably. But never the worst.
Skull Merchant, if the changes aren't reverted despite all the feedback, will be a contender for the title. Playing her in the PTB was miserable, they really left her with almost nothing to work with.
-
The Freddy rework is, by far, the worst of them.
First of all it was completely unnecessary, reverting the nerfs from patch 1.8.1 and adding something similar to the Incapacitated status effect or Madness 3 during the Dream Transition would have fixed him. The rework quite literally deleted my favorite character from the game, and replaced him with a killer that was boring, uninspired, bereft of his unique identity and extremely unhealthy for the game.
And none of that has been fixed. Over five years without my favorite character in the game and Freddy is still in a terrible state. Yes, he can be deadly in the right hands, but those high kill rates are meaningless if you aren't having fun when getting them. And if his upcoming rework isn't a "dework" as I like to call it, if we don't move away from his post-rework mess, then nothing will be fixed. Because the rework was just THAT bad.
Freddy's rework is one of the worst changes ever made in DBD's history.

We're too close to freedom from this post-rework nightmare, not worth risking everything for those sweet 4ks.

Well, my friends, you did ask if we would like some stuff back. And that is my answer.
Not everything that was nerfed in this game's history had to be nerfed.

You misunderstood what I was saying to Aven. By "they" I mean the people Aven is talking about, not the devs. Those people would rather punish survivors with harsher DC penalties or remove the ability to Kobe or simply just force them to keep playing against SM in any way, rather than admit that the problem lies with her design. Her power is easy to use but it's counter is tedious. People can do it but the effort isn't rewarding. We can agree to disagree.
It isn't a matter of admitting the character is poorly designed, my friend. It is a matter of understanding the fact that the proposed solution for the problem is unacceptable.
As a matter of fact, many people who left their feedback regarding the PTB are not SM players, many of them don't even like her. But the idea of gutting her and leaving the character in a terrible state for a year, at best, all for a rework that has a high chance of failing (like Twins and Freddy), doesn't feel right. And it shouldn't feel right, because it shouldn't be done.

Not sure why we're going to bother trying to show reason {maybe outta boredom}. You say we're wrong but you have yet to either explain or prove so. And one part is an outright lie.
None of those perks are too strong and if you are so concerned about them, then don't tunnel and said survivor has 2 dead perks {babysitter is on the rescuer so they get value from rescuing others still…bar stealth killers}. You can go harass the others for 30 seconds and by the time it's up, no more haste and very very likely that the survivor did something to turn the other 2 perks off. If your dead set on tunneling then, your free to still do so as well, it's just not going to be as easy as you probably want.
We know blight can miss an m2 and be fine. We know frickin Billy can afford to miss at least 5. We know Artist can miss some shots and be fine and same goes for Huntress and definitely Trickster. Wesker can if he's smart about where he aims. The lawnmower can afford a time or two each chase. A personal rule of thumb for PyramidHead is two chances to hit with punishment before moving on. Pinhead Larry can afford to miss depending on the survivors and how well they deal with the box. It's shorter to list the ones who actually can't afford it, and this one isn't complete.
If we took say 70 seconds on a chase and removed all the strong resources during that time, how do you think the next chase will go? And the one after that. And so on. Under a minute is good, but it's not going to immediately loose the game if you take longer for some as long as you got something outta it.
Now as for the lie, would you like some of the more powerful survivor toys back? Old dead hard, old bloody object of obsession, old balanced landing. How bout old Mettle of man, maybe old Brand New parts too? Those old infinite loops where chases HAD to be dropped till the end? Notice those are gone now? That's not even touching the recent things like upcoming distortion and how very much not op the perks Laura and Belmont brought. Both ends get nerfed and buffed so enough with the "woe is my side". If you want to say we're wrong prove it instead of saying it.
old balanced landing
Yes.
Nerfing it specifically because of Haddonfield wasn't good, imho.

Kinda. The devs perceive it as problematic and griefing specifically if it prohibits a match from ending before the match times out at 1 hour. I believe Peanits specifically said (and I’m paraphrasing) if a match ends by timing out due to a 3-gen or any other factor then that would be griefing as matches are not technically intended to end that way.
The strategy itself of defending a 3 generator was always valid, the only problem was both killers and survivors never progressing the game. Which is why the limit is 8 kicks per generator, because you'll rarely ever reach that number.

It is exactly boring. You just laid it out: Killer is trying to down fast for gen perks. Its boring because this is 90% of games. The variety of dbd is very much narrowing and that's very boring.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3808191#Comment_3808191
Specifically "Now there's a handholding mechanic with gen blockage because, "the killer kicked the gen too many times."
This was actually done because killers clearly enjoying griefing the other players. Its literally why they did it. It was exploited to the realm and back and BHVR had to do something. All due to how killers were playing.Don't try to blame this change/mechanic on survivors. Its not a hand hold for survs, its a hand scold for killers.
This was actually done because killers clearly enjoying griefing the other players.
I don't think this comment is fair, friend.
Holding a 3-gen isn't "griefing", it has always been considered a valid strategy.

Hopefully it is.

We're mildly curious as to the point of this randomness?
You can tunnel if you wish. You can play hit and run. You can slug. You don't have to catch the toolbox one, you can afford to miss an m2 (wouldn't miss many however), you only need to have basic care that the slug is not under a pallet or someone with a blind is nearby which takes all of a second (and thats less on gens and another victim for you), you do not need to be a computer as the survivors are human too and prone to errors, (we're assuming opponents here?) survivors do not benefit from every action, survivors can easily get themselves killed via gen rush as well (not even considering the fact that killers can potentially stop them or that killers have a mirror with multiple regression), survivors have 3 chances cause of how easily a killer can get a down, and both sides annoy everyone on these forums to get nerfs to both sides.
This.
Nothing to add here.

It makes me sad that I'll never experience original Billy on the old maps. What I wouldn't give for that... Or even just playing new Billy on the old Coldwinds and Haddonfield again.
BHVR, we need a nostalgia mode. Pretty please with extra sugar and sprinkles on top.
You would have loved the Old DBD, my friend, I'm certain of it. You know how it looked like, but actually playing it was a wonderful experience, vastly different from what current DBD has to offer.
And yes, we really do need a classic mode. Or even a classic filter, we know the game would support it because modders actually did that, during that very brief age of modding.

If I do, it's because I randomize my entire build (the Chaos Shuffle deals with the perks, and I randomize the rest).
Should anybody think The Shape sending himself to the Eerie Of Crows is a form of tactical play, I'd love to know why (unless the complete insanity of it scares the crap out of Survivors from the off!).
Anyway, anyone can win on any map, regatdless of bias. I'm sure you'll be fine.
To be honest, my friend, if I somehow saw a fellow Freddy player sending themselves to Eyrie I would be terrified. I can only think of a single match where I had a good result on that map:
And this result was only possible because this survivor threw the game by going for Boil Over plays instead of doing gens.

-
Original iteration of Hillbilly, the eternal gold standard of killer balance.
-
I think we already have enough players, but playing as survivor in 2v8 will never be as fun as playing killer.
Survivor is more of the same, while killers have been waiting for years to play with friends. Before 2v8 it could only be done through a glitch in KYF, and that glitch wasn't exactly easy to do.
We'll most likely have to get used to 2v8 having long queue times for killer.

I dislike Dracula. He doesn't feel very rewarding to play against because any number of mistakes hardly matter, since you make no distance thanks to the bat, he doesn't really need to play around most windows and he has 2 chase powers for pallets.
So it feels like it doesn't matter what you do or how many times he messes up because the bat and his 2 chase powers always bail him out.
This.
I don't dislike him because of his visuals, music and the castle. He is a good fit for the game. But hell I wish his power was something else entirely.

Yup!
Any perk that require killers to spread out hooks are the most healthy. Even pain rez.
Which is why they shouldn't have removed the BP stacks. There was no reason to, especially considering the changes to the prestige system gave everyone the chance to go for a massive P100 grind, and for that you need bloodpoints.

The Mistress of the Dark herself?
Yes, she would be a good fit for DBD.

Yeah, I've gotten it a few times too (and I keep getting Insidious for some weird reason, it's been in 1/3 of my killer games… I used it to pretend to be a stuffed wolf in RPD once), but the nice thing about getting nuisance perks like Third Seal or Knockout or Boil Over in Chaos Shuffle is that you know the other player didn't pick them to be annoying, so there's no tilt involved. Also, because you didn't actually want the perk, you generally don't play with it and just pick people up as normal.
Truly Chaos Shuffle is the most blessed of modes.
My first match as killer in Chaos Shuffle I somehow got Corrupt Intervention, Pain Res and Call of Brine, but my second game I got three different TR perks, which are almost useless with Freddy.
This is an interesting mode.

But that's why you chain them together no? Like survivors themselves, you turn a bunch of mediocre things into something good.
You try to, yes. But if the structure is way too weak, and you're dealing with a killer that can easily get that hit, it is difficult to chain that structure with anything else. That is what happens in Coldwind Farm.
-
Absolutely.
We have way too many anti-loop killers in the game, it is already enough.
-
@Rulebreaker said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3807910#Comment_3807910
Don't think we'd go that far. While a lot killers can deny resources, most only can deny them at a single tile (bar 2 and a half instances we can think of) or under circumstances (exemplified by NerfDHalready). Many of the resources we've seen while meh at best most times are chainable into more meh tiles creating a good ground to loop. Some maps are the exception, but overall but people can last abit if they keep moving.
I don't think this is how the design should be, to be honest. A mediocre pallet can still be used, absolutely, but when playing against killers like Dracula or Xeno there isn't much that can be done.
The most balanced map BHVR has ever designed, in my opinion, is the original Chapel. And its resources weren't weak. The map just had the right amount and the right layout. That is good design, imo.

The biggest issue Nemesis has imo is just the fact that he's a huge chase monster and then in every other aspect pretty mundane. Since chases are the most skillful part of the game, a lot of survivors tend to feel very negative towards Killers who end chases very quickly because then the only thing they can do is ignore every other part of the game and just hard focus on gens which end up not being fun for anyone involved. His zombies are pretty meh tbh, but it does feel really bad if you get unlucky as a survivor and have a zombie blocking off a certain area.
Nemesis isn't oppressive, but he suffers from the same problems as any other Killer whose specialty only lies in the chase.
Well said.

The DBD community really needs to stop parroting and copying everything that content creators say or do, tbh. That goes for both survivors and killers.
-
@NerfDHalready said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3807502#Comment_3807502
i still think there is almost always something you can do. some loops are guaranteed hit against certain killers (4 lanes vs huntress/pyramid head, long ways without any turns vs nurse, long non-chainable pallet loops vs doc etc.) but imo you can always play something on the map against any given killer, even the most non gameplay killers like chucky and xeno.
I think current DBD has far too many maps where there is almost nothing for survivors to work with and far too many killers that completely deny those resources, which are already weak resources in the first place. Survivors aren't helpless, yes, but it is close.
-
Freddy used to be an excellent teacher on this subject because you could see everyone's auras while they were in the Dream World. So if you were chasing someone and you know what the other 2 or even 3 survivors are doing that creates an opportunity for decision making. Maybe chasing the survivor isn't worth it when all of the others are trying to get skill checks on generators. Or maybe you're about to catch them and the others are wasting time, so you can commit.
I am using Freddy as an example because he is the killer that I play, but in his current state that idea of controlling the map doesn't exist. At least not in the way it used to. These days, if it looks like I won't be able to catch the survivor any time soon then I'll drop the chase.

heh i don't really agree with this anymore it might have ben true back then but the game overtime has become harder in general i wished that no mither would have some uses as a trade off just like weaving spider has a tradeoff with a powerful effect
like ill give a example if deadhard did get changed for example as can only be triggered when broken still cause the exhaustion dosent need to be unhooked you could have some cool gameplay that still fit the hardmode that would'nt be abusable maybe outside ftp and it would have trade off with no mither and would fit the theme better but heh that's just me
I disagree, to be honest. I think the perk still exists for the same reason, hard mode, and therefore it should be a bad perk.

I have over 2k hours and have been playing since December of 2018. When I first started playing DBD it was easily one of the best games I have ever played.
I loved everything about it: the visuals, the maps, the powers, the perks, and more than anything else, Old Freddy. I already loved the character thanks to the movies, but playing him in DBD made me love him even more.
And Freddy is the key, I suppose. The game is no longer the same game I loved, but Freddy is here. He isn't the same anymore, but I refuse to leave until I get him back. And when I do get Old Freddy back, then I will have even more of a reason to stay.

Better for who? Red ranks were a complete sweatfest with everyone whining about whatever broken BS the other side used. The people who deranked to avoid the sweaty reds did enjoy stomping the genuine green/yellow players, but I doubt the latter appreciated it much. And brown rank newbies had the fun of trying to learn the game while getting steamrolled by full meta P3 veterans who got to start from the bottom just because they took a break for a few months. How is what we have now worse than all that?
For everyone, of course.
There is a reason why the feedback regarding MMR is always negative. And honestly, my experience with the Ranks was vastly different from what you've described.
All MMR does is create scenarios where you either stomp or you get stomped, and that isn't fun for anyone involved.

Rank Reset filters out the .00001% of the playerbase that OP is complaining about and keeps them almost always in the red, meanwhile the rest of the top player can and will freely smurf to the bottom 50%. That was the real reason content creators were upset about the change to MMR. Deranking to get chill matches was easy, dropping MMR is hard and opaque. Nothing that the current system does is any worse than the old ranking system.
Nothing that the current system does is any worse than the old ranking system.
I don't think that is the case, to be honest. There is a clear difference in matchmaking quality between Ranks and SBMM.
And Ranks were just better, especially with the actual rank reset.
