No. I do bones, loop, unhook and heal. I'm not sitting on gens for 78 years
All 3 of you do that. Yeehaw!

Question: how do you think you're being given that time to do said gens?
Because what this sounds like to me and what I hate to see in my games when I play survivor is myself and one or two other survivors are on death hook taking turns in chase and theirs some survivor urban evading around the map (sometimes doing gens, most of the time not) who hasn't taken aggro yet and needs to take their turn in chase so someone else has a chance to do gens.
Trust me, I hate when my teammates don't do gens as well but if you're doing 4 gens solo, then someone or multiple someone's are buying you hella time
Oh I'm unhooking and getting hit and getting hooked. I'm not leaving people on the hook to die. I'm willing to rotate, but literally nobody has done a single gen in any of the games I've been in, besides myself.

But solo was already weaker.
I don't see how adding 10 seconds to holding M1 changes between solo and SWF. Both have to hold M1 for 10 more seconds. Being uncoordinated doesn't change anything in that regard as far as I see. If they spent 30 seconds running around before they'll do the same now.
Nobody is doing gens in the soloQ games I've played today. They're all too busy trying to find that new chase meta, I guess? I feel like the responsible dad who does gens so that the other 3 running monkeys can escape safely. The problem is that everyone wants to be the superstar champion hero, while the actual goal of survivors is to do gens and escape. Everyone had their egos nerfed and theyre upset about it. Thats the soloQ nerf.

Solo queue is just crap, I just died on first hook because no one bothered to come and get me.
So close to just killing myself on first hook now
Time to start unhooking ourselves, i think.
-
Well we could all start playing killer and let all of the survivors escape. That's an idea. Why not? We will still get more bp's than playing survivor soloQ.
-
Even if the cards are stacked against us.
-
I understand people wanting to be chased, but when the whole team wants to be chased who is left to do gens? Nobody. Thats why soloQ survivors lose. You have to do stuff, people. Teamwork. Its not about being the chase hero every game.

It seems since the patch a number of survivor mains have been screaming at the top of thier lungs that it is now impossible to escape. As a person who is usually killer but has been playing more Survivor since the map, and never having used DH whenever I did play before this patch, it seems fine. You just have to work now. I agree solo q is rougher, but its not as bad as people seem to think. Out of the about 20 games I've played since the patch has been out as Survivor, I would say I've escaped close to half the time, and pipped about 90% of the time. Maybe thats not the same for everyone, but it goes to show its still quite possible to do fine as a Survivor after the patch. Adjust your builds, learn to loop and juke, and learn to weigh the risks and rewards of various strategies. Think like a Killer has had to for years, and you too can do great as Survivor.
Very few people have been doing gens in my soloQ games. We could be escaping through the gate if people would just do gens. I did 4 gens in a game last night by myself and escaped through hatch alone. If others had been doing gens we would've been solid. Instead they wanna 'test their skills" and run around like monkeys. The objective is to do gens and escape. That doesn't include 3 monkeys running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Is it only my experience that I have had nearly at least one person running self-care in their matches? Even more than one, more often than not (I have been strictly solo-queueing since the update went live).
And they aren't running COH, Botany Knowledge, Medkits, Desperate Measures, and any other perk related to healing, with it. Just self-care alone.
Also, before the update I solo queue'd maybe 90% of the time and very, very rarely had come across anyone using self-care in my matches... So, I don't know if maybe I am getting paired with people on the newer side (I have over 2000 hours, I'm not top tier skill level but I have been lasting in chases pretty decently and feel like my overall game knowledge and decision making isn't that bad), or maybe people thought that it got buffed, and not nerfed, wanting to try it out? Maybe assuming that someone else is bringing COH? Or people just returning to the game after such a long period of time, from a time where self-care was top tier? Maybe people just don't really understand the wording of the perk: "Unlocks the ability to heal yourself without a healing item at 35% the normal healing speed" and thinking, "oh, it gives me the ability to heal myself and gives me an extra 35% healing bonus!" which is most definitely not the case.
I don't know, but watching someone self-caring across the map with no med-kit on hand, while on hook, often being left on hook to hit stage 2 and even sometimes dying due to that. I'm trying not to be dramatic, I promise lmao. I have screenshots of end-game results and I am seriously considering doing statistics. Like the ones people do where they record how many different killers they play against, record all the perks used, for 'x' amount of matches for example. But doing that for self-care.
So yeah - my question is, is anybody experiencing this - at least one person running self-care in a decent amount of your matches?
I haven't seen anyone using self care in the matches I've played. Not since the event, anyway.

Sounds like the Survivors are playing overly altruistic. Only one Survivor should be attempting to make a play in the basement. If you the Survivors keep funneling into the basement instead of doing gens, what do you expect the Killer to do? This same exact scenario has been happening since the dawn of this game.
This photo also has 0 context. The Survivors could have very well all tried to save at the same time. The Killer could have seen one guy going to the basement and went back to defend the hook. As the 2nd guy was getting hooked, the 3rd guy probably tried to make a save and failed.
You legit can't blame the Killer for "camping" if you are literally running into his arms.
It appears that a lot of survivors don't instinctively know these things in soloQ. Kindred activates and I see everyone run for the unhook. Lol

The time it takes to finish gens is longer. It's just long enough that killers can stand in front of a hook and patrol. 1 survivor will naturally go to the hook to get the unhook and see the killer face camping. Do this long enough and 3 survivors left with 3 gens left isn' viable for anyone to escape through the gates. Every game besides very few have been like this.
Yeah after my teams had a few wins and the games went back to impossible, i started thinking that, as well. The majority of my games have been that way too.

Mine have been dcing at 5 gens or suiciding or all end up slugged at the same time.
What are we supposed to do if this is the new norm?
Yeah I died in a few slug fests last night. It was just awful. I've been wondering if maybe unhooking ourselves will become an option for better gameplay. I've never really explored luck builds or self unhook builds. Not sure if it would even be viable.
-
What i provided to customer service included so much info. Down to the costumes. I was surprised to get copy & paste responses. I thought there might be a bug or something.
It would be nice to see statistical data on this disconnect issue.
-
How do we get survivors to work on gens instead of running around like monkeys? These games are winnable in soloQ, if people do the objectives.
-
I ended up playing last night. The first 5 games were absolutely awful. Games ended with 2-3 gens left. So i decided that I would stop unhooking everyone and concentrate on gens, specifically. I was doing 4 gens by myself per game and everyone else died, but I escaped through the hatch. Then there were a few games where one other person was also doing gens and the entire team escaped through the gate. The biggest issue I came across was that, on average, nobody was touching generators. Then after a period of wins the games went back to being impossible. I was only able to do 2-3 gens before games ended in team wipes.
-
I'm curious as to how common this type of disconnect is for players? Its very frustrating when it happens.

So picture this:
You're doing well as Killer. Three kills, last person injured, mid-chase. You hit them, but then they up and start running place. So you hit them again. They get up and start running in place. After ten seconds of this, you're booted to the post-game screen and told "Disconnected from host".
And then,
You're slapped with a five minute matchmaking ban.
Emotional argument aside,
I think it's a little silly to punish players who are disconnected forcefully in the same way you punish players who go "Ew, a killer I don't like, time to screw my team over just so I don't have to deal with a minor inconvenience for a few minutes!".
And I've heard the argument of "Well, the game doesn't know whether it's your internet disconnecting you, or a manual disconnect", but it clearly does if it can tell me why I disconnected, makes no sense to me why it wouldn't be able to tell itself why I disconnected. And it's a little far beyond my understanding why, not only, does a player have to spend around upwards of $140 USD just to have the full game's content after the $20 upfront, but that it also befalls the player to have enough money to move somewhere with pristine connection, just to be on the same playing field as any other given player in terms of how often they'll be allowed to play the game.
I mean, maybe they're worried about players getting so angry that they walk away from their setup and physically unplug their modem just to evade a matchmaking ban (even though it'd probably take five minutes for it to start back up fully after plugged back in), and in that case, fair enough I suppose, but aside from that extreme, I really don't understand it.
Anybody able to enlighten me to any of the reasoning behind it? Anybody agree or disagree on the validity (or lack thereof) regarding matchmaking bans for disconnects out of the player's control? Perhaps a different form of punishment may be necessary or thought up?
I'm open to hearing any and all perspectives on this, go ham.
I reached out to customer service when this was happening to me during the event. Their responses were copy & paste. I did everything they suggested before they even suggested it. They marked the issue as closed and it kept happening. I replied that it keeps happening and I got another copy & paste response. Do a lot of people disconnect from the servers like this? I figured it was due to the event, but it kept happening after the event, for me. It never happened to me before the event. If it has, it was years ago.

It also had a few boosts it would give when active. I always used it for the vaulting boost, myself. They took away the boosts.

I really, really miss that vaulting boost. Is there a perk with a vaulting boost that I'm unaware of?

I made the mistake of playing anyways, SoloQ that is, although the games are about 50/50 my killers all have been sweaty AF using the best perks and add-ons. And about 80% of them have been Nurses and Blights 🤕 it's like volunteering to get bullied atm 😂
Maybe in a couple of weeks, it'll simmer down! Or I'll just make space on my pc for literally any other game lmao
I ended up playing, as well. It was pretty bad. All I did was unhook people and we would get 2-3 gens done per game. In soloQ.

Curious because I've had some serious problems with teammates lately. I suspect because of this god awful patch that is unspeakably killer friendly. I've never seen survivor this weak and I'm a day 1/beta player. I've had to report so many people for unsportsmanlike play, AFK, being the literal 2nd killer, sabotaging team, etc. It's hard to enough to win with the game in it's current state, much less 3 vs. 1 and sometimes 3 vs. 2.....
So does reporting actually do anything? Are these griefers and trolls ever punished? Or am I just further wasting my time ?
Seriously considering being done with this game.
This is a big reason why I'm taking a break.

I understand that the community has their favorites and obviously BHVR will make more money making cosmetics for those characters. But it sucks so much seeing characters like Adam get the absolute bare minimum while characters like Kate, Feng, and Meg all have TONS of skins already.
They literally gave Jeff a skin with dreads before Adam got a skin with dreads. Make it make sense to me. It's like they just forget Adam exists.
I voted for the Adam set for you.

gens arent getting done because survs dont know how to play without DH. I dont run slowdown usually on killers and when i do its normally something basic like jolt. Im winning many games at 4 gens left to go because survs have no idea how to do chases without DH to save them.
Gens aren't getting done bc nobody is doing gens.

Most killers don't go near finished gens. Its a good place to regroup.

Stealth is the survivor equivalent of camping and tunneling. It's not interactive, and it's not fun for the other side. It's the reason why camping and tunneling need to exist. Why should a killer leave a hooked survivor if the other survivors are so difficult to find? If the game wants to force killers to spread hooks instead of tunneling, it needs to hard nerf stealth so that killers can reliably find someone if they leave a hooked survivor.
Perfect. That is exactly what stealth players like to hear.

Do we really know that? Or have people been conditioned to play that way by the way people have played in the past?
I have found that I regularly end up in matches were everyone ends up on death hook and I have not been hooked at all. As a result I end up changing my build to include chasing perks so that I can share some of he hook load. To be clear, I feel that i am a better than average looper.
From my subjective perspective on post patch matches, when many of the survivors are hard to find, the killer is more likely to "lose" than in matches where survivors try to get the killers attention and end up in chase.
I love when i get in a game with another stealthy player and we do gens while the other two survivors play chase. Then switch roles around mid or late game and everyone escapes. Especially in soloq when theres no communication but everyone fits into their roles. Random teamwork like that always kept me coming back. I love the teameork aspects of dbd.

you are the minority.
...in this forum.
-
I've always played stealthy and the problem that I always run into is that everyone else usually dies and I escape by myself. After this update everyone else just dies faster, it seems. I don't think theres incentive for survivors to do gens when many of them see being chased as the goal of the game. I don't enjoy doing gens by myself so I'm taking a break from dbd to play other games. The stealth build can definitely help you survive, but it hasn't been fun playing with teams of people who only want to be chased. They get upset when you don't unhook them bc you're actually doing gens. This game doesn't make sense anymore, to me. Its like picking at scabs.

And when i play suvivor, the perks i do used has been buffed. this patch has been amazing for me. nothing changed really. Unless you ds-dh every match. SUCKS TO SUCK!
