Personally I DC when I'm fed up with the game. Could be first thing or I could be the last alive after accruing 25k points. The points don't matter to me, but making a point to the killer of a BS death in a cheaty game does. I constantly have a million points to spend and have 1k items and offerings at any given time so what does it matter if I lose a game worth of points?

This guy here is the coolest guy ever. Everyone give him a big round of applause for being so cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

  • Son this isn't darksouls.

  • How can it mean anything with the current system?

There are no rewards or advantages. If say you got something for being a certian rank upon a reset it would bring a bit of desire to play more and better to get to and hold a certian rank.

Unless we are talking about pre-hatch close scenario, it wouldn't matter.

(unless ofc you have a key)

What if the gates were open and you were hooked on the closest hook to the gate?

I quite often have this happen as a killer, catching someone on there way to the gate, or even with blood warden in the exit area quite often.

Even having a key isn't such a rarity to say that someone couldn't make a build around this senario.

  • I think it shouldn't be an auto death of its the first stage. I've stated this in an other thread about more or less the same topic. This is a game of chance and to say there is 0 chance to make an escape is wrong.

I don't play victim often enough to know all the perks, so correct me if I'm wrong but...

    Deliverence

    Decisive strike

    Dead hard

And that one that let's you heal from dying once a game

Could lead to a successful self rescue and escape.

  • A sewer system would be cool

  • I'll stop doing what is effective when the survivors stop doing what is effective.

I'll go for the closest/easiest option as it presents it self. If that just so happens to be a freshly rescue survivor then to bad. I also know when I'm being ran to a dead part of the map and know when to end a chase.

Tunneling in my opinion can only happen when the hook is being camped and there is intention on going for the same survivor, and if that works then blame your team for feeding into it.

This is a reactionary game, survivors can limit options and gain a certian amount of control of they play smart, its not out fault spuds play and I'm not going to show sympathy.

  • @Pulsar I only play console, so I don't have a comparison to pc, but you put it exactly right. Also it does seem to be always too the left and even will continue to do it with a hard right correction to try and bring it back to where I'm trying to go.

@NoShinyPony I feel it's gotten worse too. I feel like it never use to happen or it was very minor. I haven't played in a couple weeks due to work, and the two games I played last night had it happen a few times each game, and very blatantly.

It's nice to know that I'm not just trippin, Cause I figured they're is no such thing as aim.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

Basically the hitbox of your attack collided with the thing you hit, period, and then the camera jerked in response to that.

But the game deciding you hit something happens first. The camera jerk is just a visual representation of something the game already calculated independently of that.

It would also happen while out in the open, not attacking

  • What ever it is, it feels very broken and I've always figured it was last or something, like I have a slight left on the stick and it continued to register. But the degree it just happened with Bubba while I was trying to figure out the saw was hard to ignore.

Go for it. I have already tried before.

Personally I would like to have the option to grab them by the leg and drag them back in. The animation already exists in the Wraith Mori.

I imagine it will be met with dislike and probably die out quick, but like you said, it would be cool to be able to drag them back in. After all, they aren't entirely across the boundry at that point.

  • "Now, let's talk about making that exit gate barrier where downed survivors slide down it, not through it"

@smappdooda would you like to go start that thread or shall I? I'm sure there are a lot of opinions on this

  • @DonnieTheZombie I hear ya

I'm a killer main my self, but I've watched my gf who is 100% survivor only have this happen quite often, and it drives her crazy and I see why. She is a very altruistic player and is quite good at avoiding the killer and winning chases.

This is a game of luck and chance, so to out right deny that last ditch effort is plain wrong. She gets downed at the gates or near the hatch, has deliverance but isn't given the opportunity to go for huge upset.

I think it's a poor game mechanic, especially when there is all this whining about games going to fast, what is an other minute or two?

  • I agree, the last hook shouldn't be an auto kill, at least if it's the first hook. It is compeltley viable to run a build that would allow you to get off a hook and eat an attack and hopefully make it to the hopefully open gate or the hatch.

The auto kill could engage after the struggle phase has begun, This would give a fair chance to pull off some truly epic $hit.

Its not like the game is being held hostage. The auto kill is a robery of potential and saves what, 2 min. Go break some pallets or complain on this forum to pass that time.

  • My girlfriend survivor mains and regularly escapes EGC by the various methods described above. So it's possible.

If you really don't like it bring a key and a stalk the killer to the hatch. Let him close it and escape after he dips to patrol the gates.

As a killer main in think the match is super lame but I see it's value to the game.

  • @Mtom912 said:

The countless number of games where a killer 4ks - ignored

a few games where a killer got gen rushed - better complain about gen speed

The underlying issue is the speed at which it happens. And it's not a few. Also I've yet to come across a kill rush thread....

Yes, a few certian killers have the ability to 4k quick, but that is usually due to bad game play on there part. If you'd wish to complain about that there are a ton of places to do so.

The point here is that if you choose to not main these few elite killers, the gen rush/ability to maintain pressure on certian maps gives survivors control of the game, making it a slavage operation for killers.

Factor in certain perks and other exploited game mechanics, the hand full of games a guy tries to fit in after work and before bed become unenjoyable.

Certain killers could be linked to certian maps. High mobility = big maps

  • I've stated this to before, the response was pretty much "you'll figure it out" I think that even if a blip of one showed as it reached full power would be better then nothing, considering the accuracy needed especially at range

  • A werewolf from underworld

  • @TAG p1 moris only last alive

    P2 after two hooks

P3 after 1, a max of two per game?

    Work work me here.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/674783#Comment_674783

Ehhh, can't say I agree here. I think if you want to have something powerful and game-changing, it should be something that you have to work for or that comes with a trade-off. Not something just randomly handed to you every now and again.

Only p3 killers generate them in the blood web?

  • Damn, just people dickin around then I'd guess

  • @TAG i think there is a place for "op" abilities in a game like this, just at a vast reduction of frequency. If it happened once every 50 games for a survivor, it would probably bring a sense of urgency rather then discontent. Perhaps there could be a limit on how many you could have in inventory as well too prevent stock piling.

Some people have 100's of them stalked up already. There needs to be an actual change to them.

Mmm kay, what if survivors got points for getting killed? Or there were a series of skill checks to hit in order to escape?

As a killer main i get the issue at hand, bit moris are just so fun.

  • What if ebony moris just became more rare?

  • Mostly ignore because i punishing usually translates into a poor scoring game. If its already a lost game and/or multiple are being toxic or using exploits I'll "punish". They usually dc anyways while on the hook.

Lol why would anyone want to waste their time vs 4 man that brought a strode key, they all are obviously bringing balanced landing and every other meta perk. No way am I wasting my time for their own enjoyment, at the end of the day it's a video game and we play them to have fun or for a challenge, not to play against sweatlords who are abusing a terribly designed map. "Better game ethics" alright you have fun fighting bully squads who abuse **** maps because you don't wanna ruin someone else's fun when they're whole intent is either an easy win or to make your game miserable. I play mediocre M1 killers only because I like a challenge but when the strode key comes up against an obvious 4 man I'm out, again I'm not gonna suffer for someone else's amusement and a lot of other people hold the same viewpoint.

But what if you you still got 2k, or even more? I guess people like you will never know the joy of over coming adversity. Do you buds, enjoy the easy way out.

  • @RIP_Legion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/672526#Comment_672526

Why's that, I see people leave all the time when a strode key is brought

Ya they can get bent too. I feel like it's only children and pansies who DC because they are afraid the game ahead isn't going to obviously be I their favor. Own it and get stomped is better game ethics then turn tale and run.

  • As a killer who runs noed on bad nights where shits not going my way, i find that its the overly altruistic/cocky players that get stung.

Once the gates are powered, if you headed to the exits and used them, theres a good chance only one survivor is gunna get got. I also combine this with blood warden to really get the blood boiling of those that insisted on hanging around when they could have escaped.

Survivor's have a slew of perks/add-ons/team mates that can turn the game into a salvage operation for a killer.

A nerf to noed would just prove that survivors are catered to and aren't happy unless the are spoon fed an escape.

  • @TheUnendingNightmare i like the vibration, which key boards and mice dont do.

  • I feel like the best way to game is with a controller, using a mouse to aim is cheating and really requires zero skill. The only games i prefer on pc are the simulators or strategy games. Also, key boards dont vibrate.....right?

  • @RIP_Legion said:

Yeah, I gotta agree killers with no mobility tools are absolutely screwed on giant corn maps, you're almost guaranteed to lose if the survivors don't throw for example if you're Legion on a giant corn map like the one with just corn or the one with the barn. The matchmaker expects you to have Billy like mobility and if you don't you're nearly guaranteed a loss sometimes, and if you don't feel like playing a guaranteed loss and dc at the start you get banned eventually. It's just not fair, you can combat almost anything that survivors bring or do with skill and great use of your power but if you get a bad map vs good players it's gg. I understand there are bad maps for survivors too like the game, I'm not saying it doesn't need to be addressed and killer preferences are the only important ones but it's 1v4. I made this go too long but I'm tired and you get the idea, play a 115 killer on a standard map vs omega corn and you'll feel the difference hard.

    You lost me at DC....

Honestly with SWF and everything else, even the ranking system and asymmetrical nature of this game.... this game must be a NIGHTMARE to balance. That's why we need to give constructive feedback to help. Not just trolling and whining.

I agree and try and state this often. We're more likely to see change if we starting talking about changes we can agree on, rather the bicker and troll. Some peoples children, eh?

  • Litterally have never had that happen or even knew this was a thing.

I'd just be happy with a Werewolf.

Yes, it'd be generic but its such an iconic creature in the horror genre that it'd be a missed opportunity not going for it.

Yes yes yes. I even made a post about what my idea of a werewolf killer should be, its Burried somewhere in fan creations.

I think its obvious (it would be a giant waste if not) that its power would be to transform into a random survivor that is in the match.

Instead, we should be thinking about what makes survivors in general so overly successful.

I agree. I'm well aware that the balance is intended to be 2 live 2 die, but the scoring that can come from that senario fluctuates drastically. If actually escaping was a rarity that offered a large bonus, while still awarding sacrificed survivers a fair sum of points if they played a strong game, then certian buffs and nerfs would probably be more accepted.

Buying as soon as itโ€™s available...still so happy with the Demo- he heralds the coming of other nonhuman killers...

    *Alien sits on the sidelines*

I hope you are oh so very right. I'd buy the dlc twice if they ever made a werewolf.

  • I agree, keep it up please. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘

  • Any mode that lets friends play together is always going to be healthy for the game as a whole, so SWF isn't going any where.

As incredibly frustrating as it is to play agaisnt (killer main here) its just a game, and we're (at least i am) adults, suck it up. No amount of bickering and exagerated scenarios will make a difference. If we as a dbd community wish to see something changed, we should probably have the sort of conversations that resemble negotiations, what each side of the fence is willing to give and live with to reach a solution we all agree on.

The current narritive isn't going to make the devs sit down and say "you know what, they're right". If i were them I'd steer clear of this b!tch fest of a forum and keep making the game as I saw fit, one that keeps making money.

At the end of the day, if you dont like it, dont play it, that sends the clearest message that people are fed up and not just looking to stir a pot for some fun. I agree the game isnt perfect, but its continued work and improvements are far beyond the likes of say, EA. Imagine if they owned this game.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I'll have to disagree here ... With as buggy as this game is, what if it's a crash? A connection issue? The game performing so badly that it's unplayable, and you just restart it? Or even ... Going against someone who plays extremely poorly, and you're not having any fun at all?

Start to ban people for this, people will uninstall and issue forced refunds through their banks.

I've only ever had one game that was bugged and required a restart and that was quite some time ago. Other then that I've never had one crash or had terrible connection issues or any of these other excuses.

I personally feel if you are playing an online game with poor internet you are doing everyone you play with a disservice and maybe they deserve an hour block after ruining a game for 4 other people.

I went out and bought a seperate, high performance router/gateway/bridge so my ps4 connection wasn't based on its whimpy wireless card, rather hardlined into a dedicated wireless beast. It made quite a difference.

Letting the people who cause problems get away with it because maybe once in a blue moon it wasnt actually their fault is not acceptable.

I would love to know the numbers on intentional DCs vs forced ones. Im inclined to think a vast majority are just d!ck head's choosing to leave.

    But thats just my opinion

  • Maybe if an iri head slowed a survivor to the point where the next his is more or less guaranteed. But i like it the way it is, people are getting better and better at dodging and if you need to stop at a locker after one throw the chase is effectively lost.

Trapper is low tier. Don't expect much playing as Trapper. Just play nurse and you will be good mate

Do gens = people not on hook escape. Why would I not just DC or sacrifice myself to play a different match if I'm not going to get enough BP to progress the game. Less than 3k and a match isn't worth staying in.

    You're a problem

  • @Kebek said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/662856#Comment_662856

Are you sure about that ? What if you play in SWF with 4 red instaheals and each time you get downed 1 of your buddies runs to you and fully heals you. If killer really wants to kill only you then he has to go through 11 health states before he can kill you with a mori while there can always be at least 2 survivors working on gens whole that time.

Now you'll say how that never happens and yes you are right that doesn't really happen but that doesn't mean it can't happen. So no there is something more broken then mories and it's extremely coordinated SWF of goo players, playing with red instaheals and not making mistakes.

You can go ahead and drop the mic now. ๐Ÿ‘

Okay if Iโ€™m in a Killer match and I see you Iโ€™m going to target and tunnel and camp you with a mori and the then you can tell me that โ€œbest optionโ€ BS

Im not sure whos point your trying to make. Out side of camping which can be detrimental to a killers game, that does sound like the best course of action.

I also killer main so you'll probably never get the chance.
