  • I'm watching someone playing ash right now and he's grunting and groaning loud as hell... apparently you're the one with the issue. You might want to look to the devs before claiming ash is bugged! enjoy!

  • though I feel you, thing is even if YOU and killer farm, you might get a safety, the killer absolutely can not. why? they can't hook you, they can't hit you more than once. and then they basically sit there getting little reward for it, so they hook you to get you to a different match where people won't dc as well as getting them to another match too. it's boring to "farm" with one or two survivors for 5 gens. chase doesn't help etc.... that's why they hooked and killed the remaining people, because one or two survivors won't help.

  • @AggressiveFTW said:

Yeah, but you could use Bloodhound for now to use for killers now that scratch marks are so hard to see.

hell i was on sanctum of wrath with freddy and i could only see black shapes, it was that dark!

  • yea badham and yamaoka are both soooo dark on BOTH freddy and Survivors.

  • It is supposed to be when balanced landing is triggered, but for the past THREE tomes it comes up to be fall from 1 story or better AND the killer has to be on your arse for it to COUNT. (the last part seemed to be added the LAST tome and this one) So basically you need to drop a story (like off a balcony on mother's dwelling, haddonfield or through a hole like in badham preschool or the game) when the redstain is right on you and you're running with chase music. yea somethings borked but they won't fix it.

  • It is not banable at all, you are not holding the game hostage or anything. what others think of what you do is different! now, people MIGHT not like what you do but it is your game and challenge. do what you need to do.

  • so you're purple and the ranks in the matches have been brown, yellow, green and red? I guess you didn't match up? if you're a solo and ended up in that match how long had any one of those groups waited for their own match? instead of jumping to conclusions, look to what COULD be happening.... just because you see a few matches compared to the thousands that happen in that same time frame doesn't mean there is a problem. there might just be real reason that isn't the game is broken reason that this is happening!

  • message board community sucks.... honestly it's how they want it so it is such... just because you don't like it doesn't mean anything else. why doesn't NOED trigger the dying state on pig's charge dash attack. why doesn't noed trigger when legion hits you when in frenzy? there ya go..... lets just say it is how the DEVS want it to be and work around it. I'm sure that infectious fright is next!

  • first of all the server hit detection did NOT break geometry. that was happening before that. The aura system was already been worked on for several months and expansions for a while. the system was put in a while back and it was even WORSE than it was this time around. They did not totally nerf billy, their changes split the two chainsaw boys since they had the same add ons, they would have to rework the other if they worked on the one. I have fun playing against deathslinger and spirit. You might not like it, people on here might not but there are people that have fun even with what you don't like. I think the aura system was being done to work with the new graphics they are working on as well. so there is a great deal that you may not even know about and yet you think your opinion is law? wow.... enjoy yourself...

Re-read the announcement. That's not what they said. If you have bad ping you were already screwed as survivor. That hasn't changed. They literally wrote that if you have poor connection you are at a disadvantage regardless of side.

And, technically, hit detection hasn't changed either, because it still happens on killer side. The addition is that now the server now has to validate hits if the killer has bad connection and the hit can be declined if it landed only because of high latency.

It's not a survivor or killer sided change. It's a fairness sided change (if it works, that is).

thing is i've had GREAT connections and the survivors elude hits all the time because they are bouncing all around. this is why I looked at what was posted and saw nothing of the survivor side being fixed and just saw it getting better for survivors and much much worse for killers.

Killers using Wi-Fi are going to start to understanding how & why it's such a terrible idea it is to use WiFi even with very low ping. It will be even more obvious (worse) if they also increased their FPS cap to higher than default cap, and if they are running uncapped making the FPS and frametimes fluctuating wildly that would be... terrible + worse + worse

and why only killers? why not survivors too?? see this is the problem i'm talking about this is a very survivor sided push right now, I'm only talking about making it an even push change.

You are getting really hostile for no reason. I did not comment on the companies as a whole and what they do in other random situations. I specifically am talking about this situation. Imagine this exact problem happened in world of warcraft. Would blizzard just say "######### everyone who might have gotten it cuz we can't verify"? I very much doubt that, they would find some workaround to at least identify people who "probably" got it, and give people the benefit of the doubt.

in this situation they wouldn't do a damn thing why? they aren't behavior and have nothing to do with behavior. you are comparing apples to oranges. I'm not hostile, you are the one that made me feel like I was supposed to follow your rules for a conversation, so I pushed back against your rules. I made my points, they are valid, you still haven't even acknowledged that, and you then changed the "options" AFTER I answered. you are the one that is feeling hostility? I wonder why, I'm just laughing because i am enjoying your floundering trying to make me feel BAD about my correct comment.

It's all good. And no, I don't have an axe to grind. I simply get irritated when a game company can take their sweet time to fix glaring issues, but can update their cash-money store at the speed of light.

For example, this hill glitch. They stated they have a fix for it. But it's waiting for next patch, which is the DLC in a couple weeks. Meanwhile, it is a major issue for many players. There's no excuse for that. Put the hotfix out. And it's the sort of thing from BHVR over and over that irritates me with their game-as-service.

But I don't have an axe to grind or whatnot. My solution is simple when I've had enough: I break from DbD and BHVR for a while, don't spend money with them, and go elsewhere.

first of all sending out a patch is not as easy as you might think. it takes lots of things and it is possible that the dlc is integeral to the fix in how it is implemented. you see there are many things that we can not be privy to because that would let too many know what is happening and how to get around things. Also you have to contend with sony and microsoft as well as nintendo for their platform testing, and they may not have the allotted testing done before the dlc is to come out and then have THAT done as well.

there are things to think of for instance, sure they have a fix and are testing it. but for it to go to the other platforms as well as pc they have to have it done right for a week or two, and dlc is about 3 weeks away, so they have to then a week behind push to them a second update and in some cases they HAVE TO PAY for the updates! lots of things that could happen. so we aren't given to know the contracts and requirements but they tell us some things so we can feel kept in the loop.

Also they are working on things more than just the dlc, hot fixes and other things plus they have the creative team that is rolling out stuff on a different schedule. since this doesn't affect the clients there is no issues for it. the hit validation doesn't affect the clients as that is purely server side so they can roll it out. see? there are things you don't think of or know of that they aren't able to tell you. Your solution is great but based on very shoddy information and assumptions, but I won't stop you from taking that break but you might also want to leave the forums alone as well and posts like this are seen as whining and well not part of your "solution"

  • They will when the patch notes come out or if they push the changes to the ptb.

To my knowledge they tested error 111 and 112, as the announcement stated. There was no announced fix for 108, and even their Tech forum area the guy doesn't seem to much of an idea about it.

Fair Point. I never got any of those errors.... 108, 111, 112, and more... i've gotten a few but anyways I concede that i was mistaken in what i said.

I haven't crashed in DbD in two years until last week. Error 108, constantly, if a match as Killer went on more than six minutes. Like clockwork.

I did manage to fix it myself. Their Tech Support was absolutely useless on the issue when I went to them. They tried to debate with me that my internet was too slow. Yeah, okay, I'm running over 300 down and close to 300 up. It wasn't the internet.

Two days ago I crashed and got an error in the 8,000 range. I forget the precise number, because I just stopped caring at this point. It gets to be too much, I have Overwatch. Zero issues there.

well sounds like you have an axe to grind, and they even did some testing for people getting that 108 error and put a fix out. but you don't care to even inform them that you got another error so they can't work with it. oh btw: I've seen people crash in overwatch both on ps4 and pc. I've seen lots of people crash in many programs. but only the people with axes to grind come to a general forum and complain thinking it'll be fixed because they complained in the general forum! lol

Now you are commenting on the companies as a whole. I don't care about blizzard stealing everquest. What i care about is that if they screw up, they give me my stuff back and give me the benefit of the doubt.

so I can't do what you did? I am the one that has to talk to you by YOUR rules? I followed the rules, read your post, replied to it with an answer that proved your assertion wrong, you then QUALIFIED it. I then showed you that the companies you listed aren't the white knights you have them to be. so no I will not talk with your rules, I will reply to WHAT you post and if you had come back and said: "You know, you made a fair point, but there are probably many others out there that match what i said." I would have said "Fair Point" as well. but no you have to tell me I picked the WRONG company and EVERY OTHER company is better than the one I picked... I showed you that you were wrong. Blizzard technically guilty of industrial espionage and copyright violation (not taken to court thus technically) and valve's miss deeds against it's own customer base and riot's miss deeds against their own employees at the expense of their customers. hmmm my point came across properly and you just don't like that you didn't make the qualification before I replied. lol that's why I'm laughing.

  • first of all what i see in the announcement of the detection, it looks like it shifts the hit detection from the killer preference and then changes it to survivor preference. it talks of killers with bad connections, killers with solid connections etc. How about talk about survivors with bad connections as well as solid connections just as much? I usually have a 30-40 ms ping to the server, i've seen survivors get away from hits that shouldn't happen, i've seen hits happen that shouldn't have happened. meh it's hit or miss but making it look only at the killer side may be a bit hard and biased the other direction. I hope it evens out properly.

I like how you mention EA, which is literally voted as the worst company in America almost every year. Try picking any other company that isn't hot garbage like i dunno. Valve, Riot Games, Blizzard. Hell even a mobile gatcha game run by a company called "Capital Games" which is OWNED BY EA will give out free stuff when they mess up.

you said pick ANY other GAME company you didn't qualify it... why change it now? lol because I mentioned it, and I'll tell you this you are being a hypocrite to exclude any game company to compare what they would do and make it global... no you are only wanting to whine... but sure lets look at this:

Valve: hey we will ban you for things that someone else did on your account "CRIES! NOOOOO it wasn't me" SURE!!!! they are notorious for making things hard to work with and for making the customers feel unappreciated till THEY want to make them feel like there is a change.... not to mention banning people from their accounts and other single player games just because they made a cheating mistake on another game tooo many times...

riot games... look at what they harboured and then later got to be the heroes by sacking a piece of crap executive....

Blizzard.... STOLE the idea of world of warcraft FROM Everquest when they lured many of their devs away. lol more things to talk about...

so yea you can choose whom to like, my choice of companies is perfectly within your original statement! hahhaha enjoy the crow you need to eat now.

  • @DyrtyGooner said:

So 3 Days in a row now the game has 'glitched' & booted me,susequently i got a one hour ban each time, this is total bs as i did nothing to deserve them !!! 😒😒😒

have you validated your files? have you sent them the logs of what happened? have you submitted a ticket? I'd wager no you haven't. there is an appeal now on the tickets! lol did you know that you could appeal this? DC bans are because people completely abused an out of match menu function to allow people to shut games down that would go on forever because they didn't like how the killer walked at them and then past them for what ever reason. that's just one i've heard before. best one is how did he know I was there? when they had stopped running behind a rock and the killer walked in from a different direction and saw scratch marks, well that was a dc because he could never have seen me! nope! btw I was the killer that did that and it was hilarious, they waited watching their friends get decimated because I got ticked at that guy and I was called all sorts of names but hey I still got 29K blood points, and a 3K with a technical 4K due to the dc.

    @Kilmeran said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/185953/the-undeserved-bans

Yeah, to be honest between Error 108 that hit me several times, to error 8,000-and-something, they really need to stabilize their game before adding in DC penalties. Never mind having the hill glitch in the game for weeks on top of it.

But I'll be goddamned if that store isn't updated lickity-split.

They have the EA and Activision-Blizzard appearance going: You're just a wallet to them.

stabilize their game? I have never gotten the errors they just tested out a fix for last week, I have rarely had dbd crash and usually it's because my windows decided to shut the program down as it seemed to act abnormally. (YES I READ MY EVENT LOGS!) I've been playing since october 2018, and it's rare i got a crash of dbd, and rare that i get dc'd when it's my isp and not my computer having issues. you may have issues with the program but have you even TRIED to work the issue? TIRED learning how to understand the logs windows uses? Have you looked into your problems? most can't say they have properly worked the issue because most are not computer specialists (like me or like the devs! and yes the devs have to be able to understand the issues and read the logs to see where the problem is).

The problem is though, is that some people earned legacy and it was taken from them. BHVR has made it clear that they have no way to verify or fix that. Look at any other game company ever and they would have chosen to make legacy available for everyone, or at least tried. Maybe if you had purchased the game during the timeframe legacy was possible, they just give it to you. They have things they can do, but they refuse to because they worry they will give legacy to people who didn't earn it. In my book, that is fine. It's the way the legal system works, it is better to let a guilty person go free than an innocent person go to jail. I also believe it is better to give someone legacy who didn't earn it, then not give legacy to someone who did earn it.

I guess EA (a game company) would have made those skins available for all?!!?? NOPE EA is all about the money.... not giving things out for free! the thing that most people miss in all of this is the legacy was specific to A CHARACTER, not just the account. the account didn't get legacy for every original character there was, but it was specific. I challenge you to find more than a handful of people that got legacy on all survivors or killers... HELL HOW ABOUT BOTH??? doubt you will find very many. so here is how it worked from my limited knowledge: get to P1, P2 or P3 by X date on a specific character and you get the legacy skin offered. if after that date you were sol!!! woo hoo!!!! can't get it anymore. Now did someone get a P1 jake but a P3 trapper? where is the records? there isn't from what BHVR has said here.

Now look at the Convention skins: they were never available on console, only on steam. Some you just showed up to get, some you did something, what ever but it wasn't like getting the damn legacy cosmetics. so they said we are going to strike a blow to the monitization of their FREE give away codes!!!!! $1000+ for golden feng! I laughed when I saw that myself. so here we are everyone gets it, some people paid a lot of money to people who are not BHVR to get these outfits... they are the ones that loose out lol not the people that dedicated time during a point where the game was broken as hell and honestly surprisingly got out of that!!! lol was funny to see some of tru's vids from then.

so let me see would have to GIVE everyone a skin that was loads of work more so than it is now but leave the meaning still there... nope doesn't work because people like me never played till 2018 or later! I don't deserve the skin just because some had a bug! The other cosemetics? bah! they were free! pick up a code and enter into steam and blamo you got it.. oh i'm a console player I'll sell it for 1000 bucks! yea that's what I will do! lol...

I still take a good amount of time to get in as a solo. Games with Killer take a little bit longer than it did before, but that might be because of the MMR type matchmaking still lingering around.

mmr is no longer running matchmaking, it is back to rank based and is doing pretty good over all, problem is depends on how long it takes to find a matching killer/survivor group as it will expand it's search after a time as has been said by the devs many a time.

To me over all it's been better because of the speed to get games improved but some are becoming elitists and turning it off because they feel the other groups are crap.

This kind of crap is getting beyond exhausting & I've been experiencing matches like this since around rank 13.

match making starts out at +/-6 of the average of the ranks. as either killer OR survivors the game starts to widen this. so either you had a longer than normal wait time or they did and it opened things up.

  • funny thing is i'm good at stealth, but not stealth where i hide in a corner. I have in many games playing blendette, done gens with the killer near by, rescuing people off of hooks and then healing them and stealthing off to do more. I once was the one that finished the last gen (and did 2 others as well), got a door to 75% or so, got chased off the door, the other survivor (2 had died) got the door off, i healed myself ran across the map and escaped. other survivor was already out. Funny thing is when I was working the door i hid in places and the killer couldn't find me even though the red light was on. it was a GREAT match! it was fun for the killer, me and the other living survivor. don't know about the first two. but I did more than sit in a corner afraid.

you should never expect someone to be what you think because they will surprise you. I don't give a damn about perks really if you have them use them is my motto. urban evasion? sure but don't be the one that does it all the time and expect to be lauded as a great player etc. noed? use it! why? because it will help you. If I get downed to noed i take it on myself because I didn't ensure all bones got taken down. Plague? I'm sick and tired of people saying you should never cleanse because it robs the plague of her power. and pushing the cleanses to force power and do the former (no more cleansing) really doesn't do much. I'll cleanse when it seems right as well as when I am fully or almost fully broken. that means people flame me i don't care because i'm playing a game I paid for within the rules, but I'm not one that will take someone else's way of playing unless I see full merit in it.

    I understand that perspective.

However, when dealing with equal competition, the spirit provides a big advantage.

He was facing fair competition, as such he was in a very strong position with this killer and the mori. It wasn't like he was facing a 4 man red rank swf.

I get playing strong, but I also get not enjoying versing perhaps the strongest killer in the game with a mori.

honestly I read this killer as someone who played the game, hadn't gotten very far up but is still very new. A green mori, if the first guy didn't dc on his FIRST DOWN, and then the other two because they got downed quickly after being unhooked things would have been different.. we were at 2 gens done and then it went to hell because two people were on the hook and I was already injured.

This embodies the very point I'm making. Its not inherently scummy, you only think it is because you are unable to attribute anything but malicious intent to the action. The survivors DC'ing may not have been scummy either we don't know, but generally there isn't a lot of reason to DC as a survivor purely because you can just suicide on hook and still get some BP's.

I see you don't understand the point I'm making, so I guess just think what you will. Sadly we will see more rage quits, accusations of scummy play and general toxicity until the community stop trying to project their emotional fragility onto the other side and just play the game.

After all its only a game.

Very true.... my post here was about the DC's and quickly people were saying i was mori'd after the dc's without asking more information! lol I didn't feel that was necessary because i honestly didn't care i got mori'd, and I actually enjoyed getting mori'd in that match because it was spirit's mori! I might think first hook mori isn't the best but meh it's part of the game. the real problem is the dc's, it's rampant!

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1548177#Comment_1548177

Eh, killers used a mori instantly after a DC, which already cripples survivors without a DC. Sure, the first DC was a douchebag, but hearing the full situation, the killer was tryharding hard after the first DC. The remaining 2 dc'd because of the Mori and their inability to do anything and depipping anyway. The killer could have lengthened the match significantly by holding onto his Mori for slightly longer, while gaining more points. Let alone that survivors have no clue if it was an ebony or ivory mori, and considering ebony's are 10x less rare than ivory's, the ebony assumption is much more correct.

Its funny how people assume the worst on both sides, killer mains think the DC's happened at roughly the same time while survivors assume the DC'd were because they assume the killer tunneled and mori'd the first survivor. Which, again, with Ebony Mori existing, makes the game generally predictable, let alone that console players still have to adjust to pc tactics much more than pc has to adjust to console tactics.

again assuming? do i have to record that match to show you when the dc's happened? I wasn't even hooked by the time the first dc happened, I was hooked later, unhooked, and then worked a gen another was hooked, I got chased, and killer lost me. Other two people were hooked, one in second stage, one in first stage. Now I ran, unhooked one, then the other, got the protection hit and safe unhook for challenge as killer downed the other they came upon first. then they went downed the one i unhooked, came back, mori'd me and the other two dc'd. WEEEEE STOP assuming things. You will be wrong 99.9% of the time! lol.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/183402/well-dcs-are-not-rampant

That statement was made prior to cross-play tho. And considering the situation that cross-play lets into a lot of games, pretty much ruining everything they learned so far, I dont really blame them.

For years, they learned that 360's are reliable, for years they had to deal with killers who are objectively much worse than PC killers simply because of some issues that consoles bring. And now they are being thrown in the deep.

Let alone that lower ranks are the type of survivors that almost only care about the fun factor. The higher rank you look, the less the DC's become. Which is probably why that statement of 1 in 100 isnt realistic after cross-play, but its still low enough to barely have an impact on players who very actively play the game, and realistically shouldnt impact players who very casually play the game. Give cross-players some time before you start shitting on the amounts of DC's. Its only been a few days and they still have to relearn many things about the game, and its extremely frustrating to put everything you've learned to be essentially useless.

The statement was made within the past 4 days. not specifically that as I made it up but the idea of what I said was said on the many dc posts here. I'm low rank and I like to have fun in a GAME. it's not a job for me. I have argued against dc'ing for any reason for ages and get flamed for it here. I don't give a damn though, I'm going to speak my mind on the topic. still it is unfair in your characterization because i play for the fun of it, for the challenge of it, for the points. I stated before the cross play that dc's were not even close to what i said, they were higher! and NO I WILL NOT excuse crappy decisions because they got thrown into a new world of games. I'll excuse poor game play but not violating the RULES. I could have put up a pic with their names on it but i deleted it and put this one up because it is the rule of the forum to not attempt to account shame people. I even marked out MY name and the KILLER's!!!! The statement that 1 in 100 dc is incorrect it is much more than that even before cross play. sugar coat it how ever you like, a disconnect is a disconnect, a violation of the game rules, reportable AND a violation of the EULA. and a big waste of time for people as they can't get things done because of cheating in the game (yes it's cheating or exploiting might be a better word though)!

Can you explain to me why? I for one have no idea if the dc´ed at the start of the game, on the first down, or just on the deathhook. IF they all dc´ed on the death hook, wouldn´t it be fair to kill the last one?

fair point, i wasn't mad about the mori it's the DC's I'm more upset about.. I love getting cool mori's and it was a spirit so that's a good mori! but one was before I was mori'd the other two after (one as I was being mori'd and one shortly after). still the DC's are the pitas.... if i get out I get out, if i don't I hope I die well! :)

I don't care i was mori'd after first hook, I got a safe unhook and a protection hit with it (borrowed time yes...) and only needed 4... lol my next match i had two dc's a tunneled kill and I got out via hatch. lol

How do you know everyone hadn't been hooked twice that game? I've had people DC at all points in the game I never understand the play the whole game to dc on last hook play but it happens, do I still owe everyone else an escape in that scenario?

Basically there is an absence of facts here and in the absence of facts humans make up their own narrative in line with their emotional opinions. It is the basis for conspiracy theories and religion. If you are unhappy when you get mori'd its natural to attribute scummy play on behalf of the killer based on the picture alone, when in reality you have no idea so should save judgement.

Jumping to misconceptions helps no one.

you are correct. I was the second out of the match, two dc's happened shortly after my mori. :)

Using in game mechanics as intended is not harrassment. A killer who brings a mori is not a bully, neither is a team with PT and BNPs or a key. Play how you want within the rules of the game, these imaginary honor codes people come up with are simply fake and can be manipulated over time to fit people's narratives. Stick to the facts and you'll never steer yourself wrong.

you totally missed my point. when using a perk in the game to aid another that's fine. but using it to intentionally be able to use that fact LATER to say "I WAS TUNNELED!!!!" and being SALTY over something they themselves DID intentionally is the abuse, not the use of it in game. I had no issue when it was done in game i thought to myself "REALLY??? you want to get this over with? sure! I'll do it!" I picked them up knowing a ds was coming and I planned for it. they didn't plan that I already had judged where they would go and i went and I hooked them again because to me at that point they had chosen not to go recover but to act. I then took them out, hooked them and they didn't struggle on second hook. Funny thing is the one they "saved" is the only one that got out and even that player jumped in my defense saying that they intended to run in, get the ds and yell and scream I WAS TUNNELED! I was laughing so hard I couldn't reply anymore and I hurt.

The ABUSE is not the use of the perk, though there are a few times it can be done like mori-spamming that is abuse, just activating the mori and letting it play through is not. You missed the whole argument just to feel like you were right, go back and re-read my post again and you'll see what i said does not contradict your remarks at all.

Purposefully getting yourself caught is almost always a bad play and is always not worth the risk. These perks existing doesn't change that, there's nothing abusable about them period. You have no argument, only salty complaints.

the perk itself has no capability of abusing itself. HOWEVER the player CAN ABUSE the effects to bully and harass another player. beyond what is normal. and you are making the case that tunneling is not an abuse, nor is camping or moris, or keys. nothing is abusable in this game... not in the slightest. Oh yea remember why they changed how long it took to start a mori action? that was because of ABUSE by the player themselves. you will notice that I did not say the perk was an abuse to be used but how it was used. At this point your whole argument breaks down and makes anything that happens in the game as long as it is working AS INTENDED not an abuse.

People that do these things are intending to be hooked, killed what so ever. and will call the killer a tunneler when they weren't. example that has been said here: player S with DS gets unhooked and when the killer doesn't go after them but the unhooker they then alter course and run into the killer's swing and go down. now this is done intentionally for various reasons including to now say they were tunneled. this is the abuse that I am talking about both in the forums here and end game chat. the fact they used DS isn't an abuse though it could be seen as such, the fact that they decided to run into the swing isn't abuse but what is the abuse is the intent behind it. This is where your agument falls flat, no one said that the perk abuses another but it was said that the perk is USED to abuse another. the key is the word USED or intent of the word used. the abuse comes from the player's actual actions or their intentions of what to do.

I think that we're talking about different slugging issues here. I'm saying that it is more of a problem when EVERYONE is slugged, as in all 4 survivors, or the second to last is slugged because the killer can't possibly risk hatch. Not every survivor plans for that, and having perks is a good idea, but it can't be the ONLY solution.

I'll admit that I myself do occasionally slug ONE survivor to help stall the game, but there are indeed survivors to pick them up. Same if I get the recently unhooked, which does also avoid DS. Just not everyone.

IT is your choice what perks you play with. you can not change how anyone is going to play the game, only they can. If they are going to slug they will slug. you can't hold it against them in the rules because there are reasons that might necessitate the slugging but this is why you still bleed out instead of not so that it doesn't cause the game to end by someone dc'ing or taking the match hostage. If you want to avoid this, perhaps you should think about running those perks every so often. Again it is a choice you make, the killer makes and no one can change your choices except you.

I got ticked beyond belief once so much so I needed to do something and I ended up slugging the next 4 survivors and quit for the rest of the day. I don't like doing it and won't say i won't do it again, but I won't do it that I know of till something triggers me like that again. I was trying to do the 4 in a row challenge of deep wounds for legion in the last tome, tried to indicate to others i'm not going to be killing, just working on things. and it was a string of 10 matches i did that and every time i was rebuffed I needed to be more obvious yet i was being obvious.... no one was watching or didn't care so i got 4 people slugged and kept them slugged till they bled out. which is why the devs put the mechanic in so that killer's can't do that and keep the match hostage! I admitted to the 4 what happened even as they were saying "don't you know how to hook?" I said yup! I know how to hook, I choose not to... "Well you need to learn to hook" I replied again I chose not to, this doesn't mean i don't know. I took the rest of the day off and haven't done it since. though today (sunday) was funny! I had 3 people left, one person let go on second hook. they finished the gen they were on and I slugged them, opened the door. one popped up (two bills btw) on unbreakable i downed him again. then another did I downed him again and i carried him to the open door saying "NOW CRAWL out" it was funny, but i let them out and didn't let them bleed out on the ground. was cute, wish I could have said something to them but they were console players and I'm pc.

"You have perk available, don't complain" is not exactly a helpful statement. Especially since there are multiple survivors to level up and get perks from. A perk being available is not the solution to a majority of the game's problems.

Decisive Strike is meant to discourage tunnelling, yet there are people who power through it and others who will keep going after the person who used it on them. By your logic there, DS exists, so we shouldn't complain about tunnelling.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1543118#Comment_1543118

It was more the fact that you contributed to the bad argument of "perk exists, don't complain". When I play killer, I do slug a little bit, for stall, but never the 4-man or the avoid hatch slugs.

Please. you are just jumping down my throat because you don't like the answers your are getting. these perks have not changed in the last several months. you telling me that i'm saying "perks esist don't complain" because you are not listening.

You use what you like to use, i don't normally run unbreakable, ds, flip flop, tenacity all the time either. you don't see me complaining about someone saying to use them if i'm upset about being slugged. also

Unbreakable: recover faster, plus ONCE you can get up without the aid of another. (multiple uses)

DS: single use only (I'll grant that)

Flip Flop: exchanges 2 units of recovery to one unit of wiggle when picked up (multiple uses.... great when unbreakable to speed getting to max recovery)

Tenactiy: allows crawling AND recovery at the same time. this allows you to not be where the killer would expect you to be and still recover and be ready to pick up by unbreakable or other player (multiple uses)

Only one of the perks i've talked about is single use and it's nothing to do with slugging. thing is slugging has been a thing in dbd for years, it's not going away. It is done for many reasons: 1) the killer enjoys it, 2) the killer sees another survivor and goes after them immediately, 3) the killer doesn't want to loose their power (oni), 4) person goes down due to deep wounds not being mended out and is too busy to go right away to pick up the slug, and many more. Tunneling exists because it can be seen as an efficient way to remove people from the match instead of inorganically going after a separate survivor for some contrived reason.... is it fun as a survivor? no.... but it is a choice and one the killer makes, not the survivor. Do you do it? i don't know but the point is more what can you do AGAINST IT? nothing there is no definition of when a survivor is no longer "tunneled" only one where they are. hell i've been accused of tunneling someone i never hooked!

Stealth is useless in dbd, a good killer will find you, the idea of losing the killer and losing the chase is something huge not a common thing.

up to you, they did redress some map issues but that was not one of the maps they did so i don't think it's changed much, i can tell you there are at minimum 4 pallets on each side of the estate and another 3-4 in the middle of those areas. just need to find them and I don't think there have been many changes there.

  • sure and with that lets separate killer pick up and close hatch! that'd be GREAT too... had a survivor (with ds) crawl onto the hatch and it forced the pickup instead of closing the hatch which triggered DS (egc, doors open) and it's crap that it forces the pick up over the hatch close. i'd like that choice.

Perk abuse doesn't exist period. If you don't like how someone uses their perk, you go ahead and be salty but it's not abuse just by playing the game as intended.

honestly survivors do "abuse" the mechanics of their perks. oh hey i have ds, i'll sit on this gen for the minute it takes ds to go away, let the killer pull me off and get my ds hit. or i'll jump into a locker and let the killer pull me out to force the ds. and then they will swoop in with the last second of bt and stop a hit. all this time they stay injured... GREAT for the killer when thanataphobia is used! but sucks for your survivor friends because you could be healed otherwise but noooo gotta get that DS in. same with BT but it's not as long so it's more immediate.

this is not how they are intended to be used, the intent on DS and BT is to GET YOU OUT OF THERE. not to have you force something or do a generator with impunity. that is not in their description what so ever. Be quite honest with yourself, you want to use DS as a weapon to punish the killer only because he chased you. I have litterally hooked three people and taken the first to be pulled off the hook down and still gotten hit with a DS! how you ask? 1) down player and hook them (A has DS). 2) chase after player B who tried to swoop in with a bt save, and while downing them player A is unhooked now hook B. 3) see player D and C going to B, intercept D and hook them. 4) C still near, get C and hook them. 5) go to B, player A is there unhooking them and I down them right after. 6) pick up A and get DS'd... please tell me in all this, how the hell did I even tunnel player A? Answer: I didn't and yet in end game chat because B grabbed C and D, A finished opening the door and all got out. nice to know that DS is that much of a shield. In the end game chat player A shouts, in caps, "That's what you get for being a tunneler BISH!" I laugh and tell them I didn't tunnel, prove it... their answer? You got DS'd so you tunneled.

This shows that people think that DS is 60 seconds of KILLER CAN'T TOUCH ME or they TUNNELED ME! no it means you took advantage of DS. what was the ranks of the players? 3, 4, 6 and 7. my rank at the time? 16. I was running plague. so yea.... I banked on thana for people not getting healed or cleansed, but laughed because i was able to down a salt squad easily. Stop lying about your intentions on how to use it and stop calling tunnel when most people don't even know the definition of tunnel to use!

You don't have to attack op just cause you think one of the changes had too many flaws. Calmly discuss how these are design flaws and perhaps how to fix them. This is a discussion, not a post review.

there is no discussion allowed in that post, it's this way or not... not much room to interpret the post to me. I was being sarcastic because the devs have said tunneling and slugging and camping ARE legit tactics but the thing is people are saying these were BALANCED between killer and survivor which is far from the case. they were making things completely out of nothing, and it's all because they got tunneled (which I have). his statements about this mechanic to cause a 30 second stun? that pretty much completely will end the game. more than likely at that point gens 3-5 will be completed and doors open before you can even do anything. and noed staying active for 90 seconds max? lol that's laughable. do bones if you don't like noed. I play survivor more than I play killer and even I can see how this is ALL about the survivor and screw the killer over.

  • i don't care! i'm not a killer main.. i play with friends more than I play at all.

Look at it. DS nerfed, keys nerfed, basekit mori, swf nerfed, and killers buffed. They purposefully balanced the changes out so killer biased people wouldn't complain, and yet you're still here because you don't want equality, you want things to go your way. How about instead of calling bias you instead check your own bias and address the post as if you were looking to make the game better overall, instead of just for you.

30 second stun? that's a balanced thing? you know what that means? if the doors are powered and someone is unhooked the killer can only go into a corner and wait for the players to leave because oh that tunneling thing... oh yea 30 seconds? 12 seconds????? what the hell??? there is nothing that is a benefit for killers. here is my rebuttal for this:

DS: nerf to 30 second time out, rank 1 gives 2 second stun. rank 2 gives 3 second stun, rank 3 gives 4 second stun.

NOED: remove from hex status, back to original mode.

REMOVE KEYS all but the broken key. on the map there are 2 locations you can get the parts needed to complete the key, and it only works for the character that uses it.

Mori: make that base kit with 2nd hook requirement. add general perk to bring it back to after 1st hook.

HOW ABOUT THEM APPLES? lol if you couldn't tell i'm being very sarcastic, but the OP is very off balance here and you are incorrect it is not balanced changes what so ever.

ye i know i just put both offering into the same discussion the other one was the withering blight event

though this years moonrise didn't touch the red envelopes. still your post was about moonrise in title.... so that's where i was making the point you combined them but only indicated one so i went with the one you indicated. might want to be more clear. more people replied about the halloween event than the moonrise whcih should show that people didn't understand your post.

you know all the processes the devs go through and how long it takes? lol you are funny. I'm sorry the devs said that it's not worth it as they have to put up verified playable updates for microsoft or sony, PTB can not be guaranteed to be playable thus it's not worth it.

Not every single survivor runs the same perks. SOME of us prefer more general use perks, that aren't one use only.

FFS it's comments like these that make the community so divided.

did I say that you HAD to run them? no, that is your choice. I added to the perks that could help with slugging but it is your choice of what to run.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/182865/making-iron-grasp-a-ds-counter

I kinda did want a perk that directly countered DS (like IG), but some killers would just tunnel every match with the perk. And BBQ, Pop, Corrupt + DS counter would be very strong.

DS i think is a perk that doesn't need a counter despite it's strong effects, it should just be adjusted to be anti tunnel.

If I had to give a perk a counter right now it'd be unbreakable 100%, screw that perk.

personally I think the time should be maybe 30-37-45 seconds or something like that or make the duration of the stun based upon the rank of the DS. 2-3-4 seconds, still not affected by the perk enduring.

  • Guys... this has inadvertently revealed the next killer... it is "THE HILL" !!!!!! watch out it'll stick to you like flypaper!!!!
