You assume everyone camps out of frustration and that deep down they don't enjoy it.

I do believe that is the case for some, but probably not for most. Personally I don't really camp much during a normal game, but sometimes... You just want to take someone to the basement as Bubba, put some Bach and chill while you check DBD forum. I find this done occasionally to be very enjoyable.

There is also the fact that this game's particular community has largely developed an antagonistic behavior that equates screwing the other side to having fun. I think a lot of hard campers truly enjoy sticking it to the survivors and that either having one to be abandoned by their mates or trashing all four's games is a victory for them.

Telling them that they don't camp because it's bad for them is like asking survivors to not teabag or flashing click. Both behaviors are inefficient and often detrimental to the achievement of the actual objective of the trial, but that's not the point for them.

In short, logic cannot dissuade campers. It's a valid play style and a lot of people enjoy it.

No but im not talking about that 15 sec camping to make sure you get the kill im talking about killers who chase one survivor the whole match and manage to down him and just camps him becasue he was "good"

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Camping has it's time and place. If it's not used at the right time, you won't get more than 1 kill or you won't get any at all

thats what i mean but in soloQ teammates doesnt even do gens so i've been in matches where we get 4k because i do 3 4 gens and the other dudes try to unhook... + i get camping at the end game or camping out like 10 - 15 sec to make sure they die or go to 2nd hook

Still better to get a kill and possibly get a 2nd than to chase someone that's just gonna dh for distance to the strongest buildings in the game.

You can chase people away from good building LMAO how many hours do you have? You need to cut them off and chase them AWAY RROM THE STRONG LOOPS... you need to choose your chases you can't just chase like a bot... if they are good leave them... if they are at a strong loop leave them

  • @SunsetSherbet said:

Because if you don't get a kill by the time they're at about 3 gens, then you've probably lost. And 2 gens can get done before a chase is over.

by the time they are at 3 gens thats THOSE 2 GENS AT THE START ARE FREE YOU GOTTA STOP THINKING THAT YOU CAN RPOTECT 5 GENS YOU CANT!!!!!!! think like this fu** 5 gens you have 3 gens at the start the 2 are bonus time, when your down to 1 gen your in trouble... (but each person on a hook is 3 survivors not doing a gen 1 on hook ur chasing one and one going for the unhook) run no way out, corrupt or gen slowdowns to buy you more time... CHOOSE YOUR CHASES CORRECTLY!!! dont chase someone thats at a super strong loop unless you want to get rid of lets say shack pallet or something like that you are gonna waste time look for a survivor at a much weaker loop. and dont chase the good looper... i have matches where i loop 4 5 gens and i get hook camped than i ask him why and they say "becasue you were good" i play with a my 3 friends they have like 100 hours at this game CHASE THEM INSTEAD!!!!!!

There's also TONS OF PERKS Survivors can use, yet they seem to think those perks should be free just so they can use the 4 META perks while still countering literally any Killer play style.

Funny h ow your mindset never seems to be accepted in reverse. It's always 'Survivors should get <50 perks to counter everything> basekit! But Killers should just stop using their 4 META perks for once!'

when i said DS is basekit i mean its my basekit... not that it should be a free perk or anything

+ you are complaining about a problem THAT YOU CAN FIX by running perks hook camping itself isnt anything I can do something about but I CAN counter tunneling by running DS why do you complain about DS when its nerfed to the F ground... if a survivors has DS that means the survivors hasnt done ANYTHING FOR THE TEAM because EVERYTHING disables it besides entering lockers and running...

as i said the first 2 gens are free... dont expect to 5 gen everyone your almost delusional if you choose your chases correctly https://youtu.be/UWnED-JHJFQ (this one is old and kind off outdated https://youtu.be/HafXeY7RF6Y) https://youtu.be/Zj76tZpL1bg https://youtu.be/nwPfRXWCAqA you need to run good builds just look at otzdarvas "best builds for each killer"

+ I NEVER SAID KILLERS ARENT ALLOWED TO RUN META PERKS!!! I SAID I DONT RUN META PERKS BUT CAMPING IS FORCING ME TO RUN META PERKS... I SAID DS IS A BASEKIT FOR ME!! NOT THAT EVERYONE SHOULD GET IT stop making up lies

Trapper - CORRUPT, stbfl, POP, starstruck

Wraith - RUIN, SURGE, nurses calling, bbq

Hillbilly - RUIN, POP, bbq, bamboozle

Nurse - CORRUPT, CHILLING TREMORS, POP, starstruck

Huntress - CORRUPT, POP, bbq, bitter murmur

Myers - RUIN, CORRUPT, undying (helps with ruin), retribution

    hag - ruin, corrupt

    doctor - surge, chilling tremors

leatherface - ruin, undying, discordance, tinkerer

freddy - corrupt, pop, ruin, tinkerer

NOTICE AS PATTERN??? THEY ALL RUN 2 SLOWDOWN PERKS... you are complaing about a 80 sec gen time... 80 sec is almost one and a half minute and if you keep hook one person thats one out of the game, and you chase another thats 2 out of the game then a third has to go for the unhook THATS 3 PLAYERS DOING NOTHING!!!!

  • @AngyKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2865277#Comment_2865277

Funny, it also works in reverse.

    1. Survivors complain about camping.
    2. Killers say they camp because gen speeds are too fast & they're pressured to get a kill ASAP.
    3. Survivors say gen speeds are fine, and Killers would camp anyways.

Once again; it's like only one side is supposed to compromise.

I know I'd camp less if I did not feel like 3 gens always popped in the first chase.

but there is TONS of perks you can bring to slow down the game or give you extra time like no way out... deadlock, Dead man's switch, pop, ruin, Oppression, surge OR BRING CORRUPTTT IT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF LOSING 3 GENS AT THE START!!!!!!!!!!!! + your mindset is dumb (im sorry but it is) you are REALLY EXPECTING SURVIVORS TO NOT POP 3 GENS???? the first 2 gens are basically free... dont go in with a mindset to keep all gens. a good first chase can still give the survivors time to do 2 gens thats okay TRY TO GET A THREE GEN!!! and once again think that the first 2 gens are basically free there is nothing you can do about it :)

So instead of one side getting better and stop making dumb mistakes it's better to just nerf the other side that has nothing to do with the fact that the other sides mistakes?

well at the end of the day i cant choose which survivors i play with can i? we have MMR which just takes in randoms from all ranks and we cant see their perks so we dont know if they are playing serious.... im usually pro killer and i think dbd is really survivor sided but at the end of the day they are gonna have to do something... why? killers are already leaving and survivors will too...

Fair enough. You articulate yourself well.

My point about CoH isn't that camping is a direct counter. It's just killers are fed up of the state of the game, Boon Totems are another kick in the groin that makes the game harder for killers when it was already survivor sided.

And CoH 100% means tunneling is the only option.

yes tunneling is pretty much the best counter against against CoH now u dont need to tunnel off the hook but slugging, hitting several people is useless :)

  • @GoshJosh said:

I’d prefer the opposite! Can’t force players to stay in a match they’re not having fun in. Not to mention all the cheaters.

yea the only team i DC is if my teammates are basically griefing (like they are that bad) i went against a plague and meg cleansed then she statred working on a infected gen 5 sec after she cleansed so i left that one as killer i just play thought the match it is what it is

I don't think those are toxic.

If someone is emoting after a pallet stun; they are trying to anger me. My best counter is not biting. Possibly; they want me to chase them because they are good at looping; time to switch targets.

At the gates? Meh. Again; they want to get a rise out of me.

yea when someone usually clicks their beamer at me i just ignore them they are wasting their time following me trying to get me tho chase them so i might aswell look for someone else and keeping 2 survivors away from gens at the same time

if they are at the gates you can just chase them out like u said... if they are toxic in the game chat you can always hit them with the ":)"

I'm back to playing killer for the first time in like 5 or 6 months.

Between the boons and the general survivor skill, I can absolutely see why no one wants to play killer. It's actually straight up not fun to have to deal with the boons.

yea im almost on the urge of leaving dbd and i've played since 2017 and been through 2019 legion...

killer is boring CoH makes the weaker mroe fun killers less viable and much harder so there isnt much joy in that + i have to try on my matches due to high mmr in a casual game so i cant run fun builds... And when i stopped playing killer and wanted to paly some survivor with fun builds im just getting hook camped 13/15 matches so no side is fun atm

Because dead hard is pretty game breakingly OP. I can't even begin to count the amount of hits I've been robbed on after the mind game I used worked and should of been a down and pressure. Instead it turned in to an abandoned chase or 30 + more valuable seconds.

The amount of times dead harding for distance cost a down and turned in to valuable seconds lost. Or abandoned chases.

It's an issue. And there's a reason why it's by far the most used exhaustion perk.

and what would you do with it? you get more distance from sprint burst which would lead to survivors running sprintburst... and its not game breakingly op HAVE YOU PLAYED AGAINST OG LEGION????? i survived that as a survivor main back in the days so i think you can manage dead hard giving u distance... i mean look at this... https://youtu.be/peFfFHqBk-c or this https://youtu.be/v0-q_yHPNck

(psst my i would remove i frames from dead hard so you can hit someone that uses it) you complain about the distance and i frames one has to go... and perk is suppose to be a dash so the distance is fine (atleast i think it is)

  • @AngyKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2863709#Comment_2863709

So, because Survivors are bad, we need to nerf Killers to make bad Survivors happy?

Congrats; now no one wants to play Killer. Because they have an uphill battle every match due to nerfs, and get insulted by salty Survivors if they DO win. Game is dead.

if you win and they are salty that means they are mad so u can just hit them with the GGWP! and be the bigger man like i do or if they were toxic during the game just say ez

+ killers mains are already quitting haha whats the point? they gave up on us killers a long time ago... the killers left are the ones that hook camp and doesnt give a F about their match... this leads to survivors wanting something gone and survivors are their cry babies so they will get it... BHVR is gonna make some hocus pocus sh*t and ruin killer even more for killer mains like you and me...

there is some changes you could make without nerfing killer to counter hook camping that would be to make Camaraderie / kinship infinite within that 16 meter range like it pauses ur hook timer when a survivor is within a 16 meter range (or maybe make it like 12) and the progress countinues when you walk outside... why would this work? well if the killer is just standing there you can block the timer and the killer has to chase you away from the hook in order for the progress to continue... why cant we have this? people will abuse it... so at the end of the day we are getting a nerf and its either a killer nerf or a perk buff for survivor whether you like it or not which is a shame since i cant play afk deathslinger anymore..

  • @AngyKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2863690#Comment_2863690

That's the Survivors fault. So why are Survivors playing badly, then demanding Killers get punished/nerfed for it?

well once again do you think BHVR should pay for a full brain surgery to 98% of all survivors??? no

do you think they should ban survivors that doesnt do gens? no

The problem is survivors yes, but that is due to MMR no one asked for MMR no one wants it... its a joke how i can get matched with 7000 hour survivors and some matches are with 200 hours survivors ITS A JOKE... played a match against a spirit 1 month ago and 2 of my teammates got hooked within the first 20 sec and i was like fun a hacker... but it was just a normal spirit?? how tf does 2 people die within the first 20 seconds....

The only thing they can do about it is nerfing killers that are camping, fix the MMR so you are matched with equal skill so higher upp camping doesnt work... or c) nothing and keep their 2kills 2 escapes wonderfull juicy ratio

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2863548#Comment_2863548

Ok. And that was my point. COH is a problem. Not just for only "hit and run" characters. It flat out eliminates pressure.

And that just circles back to my original post. Which is. DBD needs to take the nerf bat to COH, dead hard, and a lot of maps. Then you'll see a decrease in tunneling/camping I'm sure. Or at least then. If games were more fair. You could decentivize camping/tunneling a bit more.

But until then. Can't blame killers for doing what they have to do. When basically everything goes against them. "Take it on the chin and just play for 4 stacks of bbq" is not acceptable

I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHY DEAD HARD NEEDS A REAL NERF?? i personally think the i frames should be removed yes but its not game breakingly op... CoH is a faster selfcare ur whole team can use for 1 perk slot yes i want it gone just get it fu**ing outta here... camping still existed before CoH i've been camped since 2017 and back then we could self care after 2 pallets.... The thing is hook camping once again isnt a good strategy the only reason people do it is because it works due to survivors not using 2% of their brain... if the killer camps you do gens and you can trade at the end of the 2nd hook stage but my teammates doesnt do that for a reason when we are getting hook camped IM THE ONLY ONE ON GENS and i cant keep up since it takes 80 sec to do a solo gen...

killers what they have to do... i tried a hook camping day like 3 weeks ago when the kills = skills was a thing and i got 1 kill on 90% of my matches i got 1 4k against some troll survivors pointing at me and #########... and i had like 2 or 3 2ks...

and once again my endgame stats are always better when im not camping not only do i get 3x the bloodpoints i get more average kills more gg wp! comments from survivors and i have a funnier match

Oh yawn yawn here we go... back in the day, back in the day.... I don't care about 2017. I care about 2022. And the game is incredibly survivor sided.

Gens pop incredibly fast and chases are so easy for survivors because of the number of pallets, and safe loops. CoH is an issue and DH is a free health state. There is a reason they are one pretty much every loadout

yes the game is survivor sided af i agree to 101%

"Gens pop incredibly fast and chases are so easy for survivors because of the number of pallets, and safe loops. CoH is an issue and DH is a free health state. There is a reason they are one pretty much every loadout"

slowdown perks help and if your actually good at killer it goes even slower try Dead Man's Switch and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance... no way out gives u extra time at the end etc.

I do agree on one thing some maps have an absurd amount of pallets... and safe loops played one match a few weeks ago as hag had shack connected to 2 jungle gyms... While i do like that they fixed Dead Hard and i dont like dead hard at the start of the hit validation (fix) i got a lot of false hits which was annoying but that has stopped happening the only time i really suffer from dead hard is with twins when i just slide of them and i am crossmap with charlotte... or nurse and you have to charge up 1 or 2 blinks again otherwise its pretty much fine (i think they should remove the i frames from it) CoH is an issue YES dead hard isnt really an ISSUE i can manage... CoH is straight up a faster selfcare that ur whole team can use

Once again i dont think u understand that we are on the same side (i think atleast) im against CoH but i dont see how camping counters CoH? :p

  • @AngyKiller said:

You can do something about hook camping when you do something about sub-5-minutes for 5 gens.

I seriously don't get the mentality of 'Hook camping is bad' but when Killers point out gen speeds, the reply is 'No, that's fine'. Why is one side not allowed to go for a fast win, but the other side is? 🤔

both are allowed but hook camping SHOULD in 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of all cases be a fast win for survivors since it takes 80 sec to do a gen solo, 47.5 to do one duo, and 37 - 38s to duo one with prove thyself a hook stage is 60 sec so a hook camp equals 2 minutes lost time 0 the time it took you to chase him down and hook him... the problem isnt hook camping hookcamping theroetically is teh quickest way to lose in DBD but the problem is that SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS once again SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS!!!! the tutorial gives you no advice on what to do against a hook camper and since we have this wonerfull MMR your matched with people that has 7000 hours 2000 hours 200 hours and 20 hours

I'm not sure what to tell you. If you think it's only good against hit and run. The amount of pressure you can lose from people being able to heal freely, and fastly is an issue. Having a free WGLF while you're trying to slug for pressure is an issue.

I'm sorry. But "don't slug" is not an answer. "Commit instead hitting and letting them go" is not always the answer. I'm not sure how much you actually play killer. But these things are neccesary when playing killer. It's called creating a snowball. Something COH basically destroys. If you can't see that, and can't see that COH isn't still an issue. I can't help you. I really can't

I know thats not a fix but if they do run CoH my point is if you know they have it injuring several survivors is most likely gonna cost you more time than you gain so thats why you dont do it... and yes i know that being able to heal fast is still a good think but its MOST effective against hit and run killers :) i have played since 2017 and i do play oni a snowball killer yes i used to play some knockout myers too... What i mean is if your playstyle is getting hard countered you might have to change it up... I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT COH!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i think itsa huge problem... coh would be good if its slower than selfcare AND has a much smaller radius... I dont know how tf they made it faster than selfcare it literally makes selfcare useless and one people can bring a buffed "selfcare" for the whole team i dont think i said this but 70 - 80% of my matches are as killer

  • @pseudechis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/315320/can-we-do-something-about-hook-camping-its-becoming-a-joke

I don't want to play killer as its overwhelmingly too hard.

I play survivor but I want the killer to play the way I want.

Hook camping killer complained that I have meta perks and used it as a justification for camping, but I can't play killer because of survivor meta perks making it 3 times harder to play.

Never come to the forums grumpy you'll rant like a nutter and be all over the place.

Sounds to me like you have a very narrow view of how the game should be played and are very quick to call even slight deviations from that camping and tunneling.

Yes playing pig and clown is overwhelming but i do still get 3ks a majority of my matches, but i used to get 4k like 18/20 (was little lower MMR and some nerfs were gone on pig etc.)... I can still play blight nurse twins and get 4ks if i want but thats no the point... I dont think dead hard is a problem (i didnt even say that??) What i think is a problem is CoH yes... thats becasue its heals faster than selfcare... and counters hit and run + some snowballing

but i dont know how good ur math is but if you do very simple math you can find out that camping allows the survivor to do basically 4+ gens during that time ONE player is being camped so if survivors do gens it isnt effective...

The only survivor perk i dont like atm is CoH which isnt a problem with overwhelming i dont mean hard as in impossible to win. I mean hard in i have to try and i dont find it fun to try when i can run troll builds and win...

And as i said do some math 120 sec on a hook gen takes 80 sec solo 2 players take 47.5.... + you have the first chase time and you can trade a hook giving you 120 sec more... (im not really complaining about hook camping its the teammates that are the REAL problem but dbd cant pay for a brain surgery to make all survivors automatically do gens can they?) as i said in many answers i dont find hook camping a neffective strategy since you only get 1 kill MAX 2 against a half decent team :)

I think tunneling is fine and camping is fine but boring... if i play with my friends in a 4man swf i dont have any problem since they do gens... but once again when teammates doesnt do gens thats when camping becomes a problem and since we dont even have simple communication in the game like do gens, hook camping, dont save, etc. there is nothing you can do about it (and one of the fixes i stated was to remove skillchecks) it doesnt fix hookcamping either but it makes it so you can sit on your phone while waiting i dont really care if hook camping is removed i just want it to be a less pain in the ass and for people to understand THAT DOING GENS COUNTER HOOK CAMPING once again hookcampings best counter is GENS!!!!!!!!

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2862597#Comment_2862597

Only effective against 3 killers ? Do we play the same game...?

i mean you dont hit and run with bubba, myers, ghostface etc. with blight and nurse you can chase down, huntress can hatchet m1, trickster can throw and m1 pretty effective. trapper rely on traps hag does rely on traps.

THE ONLY REAL KILLERS THAT REALLY SUFFER by CoH IS HIT AND RUN KILLERS. YOU HIT ONE PLAYER LEAVE HIT ANOTHER LEAVE HIT ANOTHER... why??? well you hit them and leave so they can heal... insta kill killers doesnt really get affected by boons. nurse blight killers that can shutdown a chase really fast doesnt.... + yall cry about CoH being op when you forcefully play like an id*ot against it... If you know that they have a healing boon up why do you hit several people and leave them? if they have a boon just chase one survivor until they are down its not that effective but its pretty much the best thing you can do...

The only real killers that are hit and run (my opinion) is Legion, Sadako and wraith and a few more that kinda has the same style like hag can be a little harder since they can run back and heal but you can theoretically chase them down after a free hit....

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2863359#Comment_2863359

And you still asked for camping to get looked at when your real complaint is that your teammates aren't up to snuff.

Also the other that called you out on answering your own problem are right.

It is a never ending cycle, killer use more and more camping and tunneling thanks to meta survivor perks and survivor use meta perks more and more consistently because of camping and tunneling.

The only thing that really changed in the last 6 months is coh being implemented in the game and killing of one of the non camping/tunneling strategies from the killer side.

If the devs also make camping unviable WITHOUT compensating the other side i guess this game will really die in the short/long-term when killer get shackled at every end.

The problem it self isnt the killers camping its a very effective strat when your teammates does nothing and i mean camping itself isnt a problem since good survivor can do 4.5 gens during those 2 hook stages (1 gen is 80 seconds solo, duo is 47.5seconds) so 120 seconds on the hook should be 3 gens 80 sec then lets say 10 15 seconds to run to the next gen which would allow 2 other gens to be 60 70 procent give or take. + you gotta take in account the time it takes for the killer to down the first survivor.

As i said camping itself isnt the problem... but BHVR cant buy a brain surgery for all survivors right?

  • @sulaiman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2862597#Comment_2862597

If thats the reason, then would you be ok with some changes? Like dh and CoH only activate if the killer is around a newly hooked survivovr for more than 20 seconds? they activate for the rest of the game, but only after that circumstances are met. Since you claim they are the reason to run this perks, it would be ok, wouldnt it?

i would be fine with throwing CoH out the fu**ing window dead hard can go too! but ur changes are stupid... why would dead hard only be able to activate while the killer is camping someone that doesnt make any sense??? so me crossmap doing gens should be able to use dead hard to reach a gen outside of chase 1 sec faster? no... now thats the reason I RUN THESE PERKS im being forced to run DS so i dont get tunnelend and camped im forced to run BT... i usually run builds i find fun like breakout + sabotuer but well when you get hook camped 6 games in a row i do turn on dead hard, unbreakable, DS and BT yes :)

  • @DangerScouse said:

Because its the only way to get kills now thanks to Dead Hard, CoH, Pallets, safe maps, swf.........

As a killer main i disagree. i do play 70% of my matches as killer and i dont get why dead hard is such a problem??? CoH sure... but you can counter CoH by NOT going for split pressure by injuring many survivors... ur complaining about pallets??? LMAO back in the days when i started playing 2017 you could fully self care by dropping like 2 pallets... if you had we will make it it worked on urself too...

safe maps there are killer sided maps and survivor sided map so thats not a good arguement

  • @TheArbiter said:

    Kindred and borrowed time

i do run BT... but thats doesnt make it easier for me to unhook him does it? it prevents him from being tunneled but the killer can trade me instead

  • @BubbaDredge said:

You answered your own complaint, bro. CoH makes killer way harder. Wounding doesn't slowdown anymore. 12 hooking takes longer than trials last.

So when a killer gets you, they have to make it count and they have to do it efficiently. Going for the healthy survivor used to be a strategy, get everyone wounded so they're busy and off gens. Now going for the healthy survivor is the wrong play, the killer is wasting his time.

Survivors benefit from CoH, massively. You don't get that for free, it's not like killers are just going to keep playing without ever trying to counter it. The counters for CoH are tunneling, camping and NOED. If you have a better idea for killers, say so. Snuffing boon totems over and over isn't something I'd consider.

Also just accept that if you're near death or about to enter struggle phase, you're getting camped sometimes. Killers that play smart exist. Tunneling is the most efficient strategy and it's not the killer's job to protect you from it.

the thing is that ur wrong it doenst make any sense... If the survivors are good they can do 4.5 (give or take) gens during the time you hook camped someone 2 hook stages are 120 sec a gen is 80 and 2 person (not prove thyself) is 47.5 seconds... and this is excluding the time the survivor loops for. So at BEST you should be able to get 2 kills and tahts... the problem isnt hook camping itself its that SURVIVORS DOESNT DO GENS!!!!

  • yea used to have matches like that before... but after a huge winstreak on twins i really have to sweat my ba*ls off playing any killer... my matches are super close and i often only get a 3k or 2k. I almost always face a SWF. i remember back in the days when i could play pig and 4k without any problem. As you said he hasnt played high mmr killer yet

I wonder when people realize that camping isn't always camping:

    -killer hooks you

-walks towards a recently dropped pallet to destroy it

-walks back to the hook because the best way

    -gets called camper

    __

I can't tell how often people looped super close to the hook, so why would i leave the hook area to proxy-camp when they hand it to me?

Camping can be boring, but sometimes you see another survivor or maybe even two, so why would you pressure gens if you know that two are trying to rescue one person? And if you are lucky you get another survivor down.

bruh i was hooked down in basement and he tood upstairs inside the shack at all times... he only left to tunnel the survivor if we managed to unhook (unhooks are at 2nd hook stage after around 40 sec to manimise his value from camping) but at the end of the day if my survivors doesnt do gens too its over... as i said i did 2 gens and had to leave one at like 95% and my teammates only managed to do 1 gen...

  • @BlackRabies said:

You kinda answer it your self on that 5th paragraph why camping happens a lot. CoH, Dead Hard, and all the other crap killers have to put up with they feel they have to camp to have any chance.

Need to give the killer a reason to not camp, by either changing things or adding something new.

well camping is the reason we run those perks CoH is only effective against 3 killers. dead hard to me isnt really a problem but i do know that a lot of people hate it. But when you get hook camped 6 games in a row your literally forced to run BT, DS, DH and UB

+ that doesnt make any sense hook camping is a horrible strategy THAT DOESNT WORK if the survivors do gens but they dont the last game against the hook camping nemesis I DID 2(i nearly did 3 one got interrupted at 95% when we managed to unhook one but he hooked me next to the gen and continued camping) out of those 3 gens while my other 3 teammes well idk what they were doing

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

Man, that's pretty bad. I hate camping, but I gotta say I actually don't get camped all the often (maybe like 1 game out of 20 I'll get really camped).

Of course my personal definition of camping is pretty forgiving (unless the killer hangs out within a 5-10 meter radius I don't really consider it camping).

If you are getting face camped that frequently, I feel for you. I might stop playing surv for a while.

the thing is i usually never get hook camped its as you said like once in 30 games or so but the last week has been a living hell (and they do camp they are always within lunge range or like upside shack if im basement... and if i get hook camped once its like meh it happened whatever im just gonna move on but when its 3 times in a row it starts to get really annoying

Hello everyone, I recently started playing Blight and I am really bad with him. I enjoy playing and trying to improve my blight. But lately I have been getting very toxic players almost every match and it’s really hurting my motivation to play him. I’ve gotten multiple people keeping the game hostage now and not doing gens just so they can keep clicking their flashlights at me for 30 minutes, I have gotten some very nasty messages in the end game chat and it honestly surprised me how emotional people get over a game. I just want to ask all of you killer players. How do you deal with toxicity and what can I do to not care about it so much?

hey bud im in the same boat i hate when i get hooked camped and dude say ez with 1 kill its a bruh moment u gotta take the win and dont forget ur crown on the way out if your a survivor think like this, you literally made the killer give up to see you dead. If you're a killer dont even listen to the id*ots... i remember once when i gave a survivor hatch and the whole team that i killed said noob ez HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH like bruv i've never given someone a hatch after that... my best tip is to just ignore it real losers i mean i get them being toxic if you tunnel and camp but if you play normally like whats the point just say GG and leave!

See my comment about people not taking enough advantage of her stealth when crouched.

yea but thats what her ambush is for or so i think, she isnt made to sneak up and grab you she is made to sneak close so she can dash on you and get the hit a real stealth killer in my opinion would be ghostface or wraith their power is stealth while pig more has it like a "side power" "extra power"

  • @dugman said:

Pig is more or less in the same boat as other stealth killers in that all stealth killers perform well against average survivors but are weaker than other killers against survivors with strong awareness. The more aware survivors are of their surroundings the harder it is for Stealth killers to take advantage of their Undetectability to get quick hits before chases can evolve.

If I had rank them I’d say probably Sadako then Wraith, then Ghost Face and finally Pig. But really if you’re good at being sneaky they’re all kind of similar in performance. (And I say that as someone who loves playing stealth killers, I do pretty decently with all of them).

I will say I think a lot of people underuse Pig’s crouch and Ambush honestly. Yes, she moves more slowly while crouched, but if you are able to use that stealth to get close to the survivors then the time you lose while crouched is made up for by the time you saved on the quick hit it delivers. And if you can get close with stealth the Ambush is virtually a guaranteed hit unless they are literally right next to a vault. It works for me at least. 🤷‍♂️

but pig isnt really a stealth killer...

    Yes, Nurse is underpowered :-)

But the devs know her. She is the special case. A normal nurse is not so good and can have real problems.

A lot try her out but don´t want to learn her. And you have to learn and practise her a lot to get really good.

But as we all know, if you manage to do that, you play the strongest killer in the game currently.

but thats the thing with all killers i play twins and i feel like she is pretty strong i've had some rough matches but my win rate is probablywell over 95% with her...

you dont have to learn nurse i dont get why people say she is a skilled killer... i've probably but down 200 300 hours on nurse (its not much but its probably more than the average player) and i've never had any problems with hitting blinks etc. I even remember when i started playing nurse it took me 2 matches to get the blink down and like 50 60 and it was almost muscle memory i honestly feel like pyramid head or cenobite has a higher skill ceiling than nurse does :p

  • @N8dog said:

pig is debatably the worst licensed killer in the game.

thats what i mean and now sadako does what she does but better...

Yes, the stats prove that the killer is doing well.

How it is achieved is not important - you know the kills=skill thing. And near the desired 50%. So i think that they think Pig is fine.

I know what you mean but the only thing that counts is what the devs think.

so nurse is underpowered then? she isnt at the 50% mark and almost all killers are around it (so all killers are balanced? its like +- 3%

play 100 pig matches and come back

  • @Marc_123 said:

Last stats tell us she is pretty good.

but the thing is does stats prove that a killer is strong?

    • Nurse - Kill Rate: 49.25 percent | Pick Rate: 5.27 percent.
    • Trickster - Kill Rate: 49.94 percent | Pick Rate: 4.72 percent.
    • trickster confirmed stronger... ;)
    • + you gotta remember that sadako is new so this is fairly recent but dont you agree? pig got a slowdown but so does sadako + tons of other abilities while pig has crouch and dash...

  • @CremelloJoJo said:

Play AFK Pig, some people seem to think she's OP 😂

thats why they keep nerfing pig ;)

  • @Faulds said:

Pig can use "save the best for last" better than most killers. Definitely better than Sadako that's for sure. Pig's headtraps are nothing like Sadako's condemn. You can pretty much guarantee a headpop every game if a survivor have four boxes to do... even quite easily with some add-ons. I'm not sure that's the case for Sadako.

i mean yes but power wise she isnt much stronger and theoretically STBFL works decently on her aswell... my point is sadako does what pig is suppose to better... i used to main pig(1 year ago) and i dont see a reason why anyone would choose pig over sadako (i've only played like 80 games with her or something like that so im not that good with sadako but hey) as i said the pressure from condemned is pretty much the same from pig... and no you cant guarantee a head pop everygame if survivors wants to 99 their gens you cant do anything about it + chasing a survivor with a helmet removes that pressure from him and the others can do boxes + if you do decide to tunnel him and he manages to survive and all other get their traps off they can escape and its a hatch race...

  • @TheSubstitute said:

Touch screen controls for killers vs keyboard and mouse. If it weren't for that, I would agree.

yea but im not talking about controls i mean features, forget controls and graphics

  • @dugman said:

I actually think DbD Mobile is better in some ways that the PC/Console version, there’s definitely some things it has and does that I wish this original version did:

    • custom matches with bots
    • bots replacing disconnected players
    • killers not seeing survivors in the lobby so less lobby dodging
    • a more mechanically interesting setup for their missions (it has separate logs of daily and weekly missions with five slots each plus something like story arc missions)
    • better loading screens
    • maybe a better bloodweb? (it’s different at least)

In fact the only thing I don’t like about the Mobile game is controlling killers on my tablet is infuriatingly difficult. You move and strafe with your left thumb, and your right thumb controls both the camera and taps in a different spot to make attacks, which means you basically have to choose between turning and attacking. I eventually just gave up on it, I got into so many chases where I was thinking “if I was in mouse and keyboard right now I’d have easily down this survivor”. Such a shame, everything else is great.

yea thats what i mean... lets forget controls and graphics etc. i mean features like this!

  • @Zozzy said:

No argument from me, but it's on mobile so no...

im only talking about the features

As far as I can remember, before Spirit/stridor got nerfed, there was many post saying she needs nerfs and such, but many said just use iron will to counter her (yes you could use stridor but that's not the point)

And for some reasons, survivors or at least those talking about it, weren't happy with this idea and didn't like the idea of needed 1 perk to counter a killer, you shouldn't require a perk to counter a killer! they said.

    BUT

For some reasons, Spine chill, which reveals the killer is heading towards you, before you hear the TR, and even if they are a stealth killer, who are undetectable, which totally remove any stealth capabilities and let survivors hide before the killer even gets close to the survivors.

Is totally fine, it's totally fine to have 1 perk which will reveal ANY killer is heading towards you in a 36M range, but 1 perk to counter Spirit's power totally wasn't fair.

    I ######### hate survivors logic.

i agree i used to run iron will and still do i find it a good perks which sometimes even let me escape chases...

The idea of a pekr countering a killer. I dont think a perk should counter a killer. Spine chill does kind off counter stealth but you can walk backwards or sideways to them... Iron will doesnt even counter spirit... you can see scratch marks and grass moving.

spinechill is a boring perk becasue you can play really shady and laid back making games takes ages if you want. the only real killer i think getting affected by spine chill in a super negative way is ghostface / myers since they have to look at you for a long period of time

The solution is to make ingame friends with people and start inviting them to your lobby so your not stuck in the solo q underworld

i do play with myfrinds but then i get the "you're a SWF its not fun to play" "trash SWF" dcs and killers giving up... and i do play soloQ sometimes

  • @Marc_123 said:

The mobile version is done by another company afaik.

Somebody posted a picture where you can see others loadout - really nice for SoloQ i think. But players will probably dodge players who use the "wrong" perks.

I think the mobile version is not played very much - and therefore has to be better to get people.

    sorry for the late answer!

I know that its another company! but i wouldnt mind people leaving lobbies if survivors run ######### perks. im tired of playing with teammates running urban evasion, no mither, selfcare etc.

But they're still playing. BHVR has even stated camping is an effective killer strategy.Hate it all you want, justify it whatever way you want,

your whole spheal there is great, but you can't really make players play any differently just because you don't like it. If they want to face camp, well. They totally have the right to do just that. The only thing YOU can really do about it is: get over it.

its not effective THATS THE THING IT ONLY WORKS DUE TO MMR... when you get matched with a survivor who doesnt do gens its effective since you guarantee a kill and no gens get done if the survivors have an iq above 11 - 14 they would sit on gens and get a 3man escape so you can L the killer in the endgame chat

  • @Valik said:

No perk should be gotten rid of for any reason.

Every perk mentioned could be fixed with a very, very simple update to make it balanced.

that wasnt the question, and honestly i bought mikeala for CoH which i dont even use cuz i feel like a dick running it to rebalance that perk you would have to make it worse than self care (my opinion) i dont think one player should be able to bring a better selfcare for the whole team

  • @Shaped said:

Making maps and tiles more balanced would help more than any nerf or perk deletion would.

    which tile is unbalanced?

  • eehm they are not? They are giving up they are literally stop playing becasue they get mad / annoyed that someone is better than them instead of playing and maybe learning from that chase they think more like this "he is good now he's gonna die" and "omg he's gonna be so mad when he dies" maybe think more like this "why didnt i catch him" "how did he loop" "what did i do wrong" "was this a good chase" and stuff like that generally speaking not getting a hit or a pallet within 15 second as a killer is a BAD chase that means that you have ALMOST always made a mistake (there are some exceptions like them looping killer shack). So before you even start the chase you gotta think like this "can i catch this guy or get anything out of this chase withing 15 20 seconds" if not dont chase that player break chase look for someone else...

By camping ur shoving away all learning possibilites and just ruining the game for that survivor and yourself, there are so many good youtube videos giving simple but super effective tips on EVERY and i mean EVERY KILLER and lastly as i said THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY IMPROVE IS BY PLAYING THE GAME! :)

  • @kld3169 said:

    "Every, every.."

    I'd bet not...

well 6 games in a row is pretty interesting i mean sure its very rare i only get like 2 3 campers a day out of 20 games but when i posted this ALL killers that day had hook camped me

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 12
