“so you actually have to focus on the game”

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but are you actually complaining about having to pay attention in game?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2880519#Comment_2880519

Come now. Seen plenty of face camping and tunneling at 5/4 gens with no boon in sight.

My point is before you could just sit and click space space and look around at what your teammaets are doing now you have to focus a little on skillchecks when your being camped making it 2 times worse... and since i REFUSE TO KILL MYSELF ON HOOK i have to sit and do skillchecks for 60 sec i dont get why they couldnt make it a toggle option so you can choose if you want to struggle with the old mechanic or skill checks you could literally ind struggle to your scrollwheel and just drag it :)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/317119/counter-plauge-impossible

In my experience of playing plague, the survivors lose the game more often because they refuse to cleanse (until it's to late) than because they were "over-cleansing". The whole NEVER-CLEANSE-AGAINST-PLAGUE advice kills more (mediocre) survivors than it saves, imo. That advice does only pay off if all survivors are somewhat competent in looping. But rarely thats the case, usually there are at least two weak links to target, and thats usually enough to beat the whole team.

The advice is also more harmful than good bc. most survivors using it seem to be to stubborn to question that approach even in the most dire situations. They refuse to cleanse even when they are the last standing survivor to save the others, even when the Plague is clearly prepared for this non-cleanse scenario (using Black Incense and/or IF for snow balling), not even consider that cleansing might be more safe bc. it's RPD or something, etc.

Sure, cleansing always can be an equally bad decision, but aggressive cleansing might work out for your team way better than not cleansing at all. Using corrupt purge is not an automatic win for the plague (only when the survs play it dumb), so if you can force it on the plague by using all fountains, thats often a better outcome than playing the whole game half-life. Forcing the Plague to use her Corrupt Purge also allows you to play sneaky against it, a thing you cannot do when infected. Infection is great for tracking / finding survivors, but if the survivors cleanse fast, the Plague loses that tool. I feel it's more difficult for the Plague to play with only corrupt purge than no corrupt at all, given that the survivors play it smart.

Overall, both no-cleanse and always-cleanse games can be difficult / stressful as the Plague, but the latter tends to be more fun overall, for both sides, imo.

ok thats ur opinion but if you dont cleanse plague is a m1 killer sure you get insta downed but you just play it safe... its that easy and HOW DOES IT HELP TO CLEANSE AND JUMP ON A INFECTED GEN AFTER 10 SEC??? they are literally giving her free powers...

+ its so easy to infect someone that it doesnt help you can puke on gens, winows, pallets, hooked teammates, vaults, lockers etc.

How many boons were there, how many gens were done in the first two mins?

    That's your answer.

+ its not my fault i loop outside of chase so i have like 20 free seconds to just run thats just a really bad chase to take as a killer its not my fault he goes for a survivor pretty much crossmap...

  • @MilManson said:

0 boons 2 gens but he had one of my teammates on death hook and 1 was hooked once so how does that answer my question?

me and anotehr one was the only ones doing gens... whats ur point?? u just clowned urself lul thinking he camping due to boons or "gen rushing" no... they do it because they get mad(my best guess) since i dont see any reason to camp if your doing fairly good

You played the game long? Did you take the code Japan300k. Hope it still works.

i'ev taken all codes but it doesnt help since i only have like 50 60 perks on NEA its so fu**ing expensive to get all perks its a joke honestly probably spent 3 million bp before i got DS tier 1 on her

  • @VirtuaTyKing said:

Have a stealth approach sometimes to give yourself a break. Teammates should do better or at least trade. I would although you need a couple players to help if being camped hard.

yea had a game now where i wasnt camped but no one unhooked me on 2nd so i died ANY FU**ING WAYS

    14k bp <3

low bp because i was sandbagged by a teammate on 2nd chase so i died pretty much instantly :( and did like 1.5 gens

Here are some numbers and speeds

default heal time is 16 seconds

self care penalty is a 0.5 * multiplier

    Bonuses are added before multiplier

    (1 + 0.75) * 0.5 for 87.5% speed (current version)

    16 / 0.875 = 18.2 seconds

    Original version was 100% bonus

    (1 + 1) * 0.5 = 100% speed

    16 / 1 = 16 second heal (original version)

    New version will be 50%

    (1 + 0.5) * 0.5 = 75% speed

    16 / 0.75 = 21.33 seconds

    Base selfcare speed is 1 * 0.5 = 50% speed

    16 / 0.5 = 32 seconds

yes default heal speed is technically 32 seconds but we only count the time the survivor spent healing the other not the time spent by the other survivor getting healed

Thanks, i wasnt sure how things stacked etc! now when i think about it i dont know how i didnt figure out the default heal speed was 16 when camping medkit is 16sec with no speed boost makes it 16 :P (even tho i knew selfcare was 50% slower i still didnt manage to figure out the time was 16 xD for some reason that thought never crossed my mind)

And i didnt do the actual math on boon heal speed since i've heard it was 22 and they made it 2 sec longer thanks for clarifying! but its the same thing basically you can boon AND heal at pretty much the same speed it takes to selfcare :) 2nd post i did but yea idk havent done probability etc. in math for a long time so i wasn't 100% sure i did the right thing im doing dumb sh*t like Congruence statements, Methods of proof and Differential equations in school ^^

  • @GoshJosh said:

With the new haemorrhage effect, no more baiting 99% heals for Resilience.

well everyone doesnt run haemorrhage + i'd rather take that 9% boost than heal anyways so wont make a big difference

  • @bjorksnas said:

Its not 24 seconds of healing its 21.33 because math stuff someone else will explain better probably eventually

wasnt it 22 give or take and they added 2?

+ i went by 32sec default and i took 32 * 0.75 (which means you heal 25% slower) and its a 75% heal speed and that equals 24

maybe if you went by charges idk (i dont know how many charges = a full heal thats the problem so i cant do the match since i dont know exactly how long a heal is nor how they count the time ( i assume its by "charges")

What you describe is called getting dedicated. No proof of the killer using a VPN.

Even more so, since the Hit registration is server sided. So even if the killer has a higher ping than the survivor, the server decides if something is a hit or a miss. The higher the ping, the less likely it will register as hit.

"no proof they have a VPN" i know but some killers have really and i mean really ######### ping... you can tell the difference between a 50 ping nurse 100 ping nurse and a 300 ping nurse and DBD wont match you up with 300ms since thats my ping to australia or america (from EU) thats another continent type of distance....

"the server decides if something is a hit or a miss. The higher the ping, the less likely it will register as hit."

true, but i tried to connect myself to america with a VPN played a match as spirit i didnt even try i got easy hits you could tell i was so far away from them... now i let them go ofc because its a douche thing to do

  • no... why? but you can see insane desync like getting hit through fully dropped pallets, through walls grabbed like a sec after letting go of a gen and you ahve 40ms so he is using a vpn... since dbd doesnt match people on EU servers with people from australia do they?

  • @Tsulan said:

How would you know its people using a VPN and not the server matching you with people from the wrong area?

well sometimes you just know... i always lose against bad nurses but played againt a 6000 hour killer who played nurse we got out well 3 of us did... but i can face a 800 hour nurse and get clapped and unironically they always have ######### ping...

Usually I'd like to present some evidence on why only up to 10% of players in queue are playing killer but I fear the forum mods won't like it due to these statistics being extracted via third party tools. Those of you who follow certain content creators might have heard about the related twitter thread, though.

One thing's very clear however: there's a severe lack of killers playing this game nowadays, caused by them either reducing their playtime or outright quitting DbD. Those who bother to stick around have 2 options: either play Nurse/Blight or become a dedicated camper/tunneler to gain any progress in a simplified MMR system that heavily promotes kills over any other sort of interaction.

The reduced killerpool also makes any actual balanced matchmaking borderline impossible due to lack of diversity in the skillpool. There are far too many survivors who have learned to abuse their role to the fullest extent.

Perks like Circle of Healing and Dead Hard have made the killer experience extremely stale and repetitive. Simply hitting a survivor to spread "pressure" doesn't work anymore, healing as a mechanic is absolutely out of control. You're literally forced to commit to any chase while the other 3 survivors are finishing gens at alarming rates. And those chases can take VERY long if you're playing a simple m1 killer with no other way to down someone.

It's only going to get worse the longer BHVR neglects these issues. Nerfing these insane perks would be the first step to address the situation, the next step should be to buff 75% of the killer-roster, and finally killers should get an inherent BP multiplier to compensate for the extreme stress they have to endure.

Playing DbD as a killer feels like a chore, it's anything but fun. Survivors already make as much bp as the killer if they know what they're doing, this isn't really fair considering how their role is the much easier one.

well i usually play killer but when my killer queues got longer than survivor im not tempted

If they do, but at all levels of play you'll find survivor players that need to get that rescue and be the hero, despite the risk. Just a fact of the game. I don't bother setting arbitrary limits on what I do, I go with whatever works for the match I'm currently in, no matter if I'm playing killer or survivor. As killer, sometimes that involves using someone on a hook as bait. And to be fair, they are on a hook, where worms go.

one question as i said i've played since 2017 and i've never seen this but this mf got 45 000 bloodpoints which i assume is impossible since its first of all capped at 32000 2nd no offerin nor perks for bp i've seen player get like 39 000 during events but thats an event

There’s ofc the occasional first hook camper, but in most cases I’ve witnessed, camping is a strategic play utilised at the correct time for pressure. With how survivor sided the game is, and how unbalanced most maps are, and how weak and outdated many killers are, even killer mains with several thousand hours have to camp, proxy camp and tunnel to apply adequate pressure. It’s just part of the game at the end of the day, and in the majority of cases, when such strategies succeed, it’s the teams fault for failing to respond appropriately.

proxy camp is one thing tunnel is valid strats tho if you do tunnel you cant complain about DS... and im talking about face camping or just camping ignoring everyone and everything unless they are going for the hook... i do camp if someone is 10 sec away from going into 2nd hook stage and i pass by or if im cose its ######### not to camp the 10 sec to get someone out of the game... but my point with this point wasnt that camping itself is completely useless. it was more like if you camp because survivors are "good" how are you going to improve urself... i see killer with 1000 hours that are worse than the AI killer... they double back on all loops they respect all pallets the swing with the wrong timing(too far away) and they camp than in the end game they say "i camped because you were good" most of the times its not even the survivors that are good, its because you are bad like how is it even possible to loop a rock and a tree 11 times that takes 6 sec to run around? it isnt unless the killer does weird stuff

Not really I play nurse at high MMR and often get 5 gens and max sacrifices that sometimes I feel bad and let two farm and leave.

But whatever mate, project yourself onto me.

rly u 5 gen swfs with 10000 hours? i think not + i do get some 5 gens 2 but my point is if you do thats just the survivors that are bad (most of the time) i mean sure you can have a haunted grounds infectious nurse 4 slug but meh... nurse is a boring + strong killer for a reason man (i mean boring to play against)

Mmr is an invisible number designed to make the sweatiest of sweat lords feel like they are good at the game when in reality we all know they shouldn't take dbd as seriously as they do.

Also i do not really camp and i have a decent invisible imaginary number that no one should care about unless they are a sweaty sweat lord.

ur talking like i care about mmr rofl i want it long gone it doesnt work it does what pips do but worse... but i used it as an argument because he hasnt played again a 10000 combined hour SWF where CAMPING WONT WORK unless you literally use hacks or something they are trolling because once agian 120 sec = 1 kill a gen is 80 sec and if they loop you for like 40 sec that should be all 5 gens popped before the first guy is dead

  • @AsherFrost said:

"but you say urself that u because 2 gens pop when you down the first person"

I read that 3 times, and I think you are confusing me with a different poster. I never said anything about gens popping.

Yes 19 is still a kid. A teenager, to be specific. Congratulations on having a job though, a lot of kids don't.

maybe i did but a lot of people say that they start hook camping when 2 gens pop and thats literally impossible to get a win unless the survivors doesnt do anything... but you get my point theoretically (if the surivors just do gens and ignore the hook) hook camping should be MAX 2 kills

  • i have played since 2017 my friend gifted me it "mottogs som en gåva eller i byte" roughly means "received as a gift or in a trade" (konto namn is my personal name and last name so i blurred it out :)

    Skärmbild (713).png

now you believe me or not i dont care but you say urself that u because 2 gens pop when you down the first person THAN a hook stage is 60 sec 2 hook stages are 120 sec which means your away from the game for 120 sec and you have 3 survivors doing a gen which takes 80 sec each (no skillchecks missed no great which reduces the time by roughly 2 sec) even if they sat 2 on a gen which is a roughlt 47.5 sec/gen they would still manage to do 3 gens so either ur hacking or the survivors are bad since there is no way you can get form the hook 40 sec after all gens are done and get a down LMAOOOO

    + im 19 so im not a kid i work etc. :)

Oh wait, you aren't, you're just making assumptions because it's easier than actually engaging with viewpoints that disagree with you, that's right.

yea because i have 5000 hours and when i play with some of my friend we have a total of like 10000 hours and i've never been 3k with the magainst a hook camper NEVER NEVER NEVER... why? a person has 120 sec on a hook a gen is 80 sec simple math its like 2 + 2 ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET 3 kills when hook camping unless the survivors are bad ROFLLLLL

  • @Bullettimegod said:

  • @AsherFrost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/315685/yall-hook-campers-listen-mini-guide-for-beginners

All of this makes 2 big assumptions.

    1. Killers who camp don't know how to play otherwise.

    2. Killers who camp do so out of "frustration" due to frequent losses caused by assumption 1.

If you want to have an actual discussion about it, when I camp a survivor it has nothing to do with disliking that survivor, or my confidence in looping, or any of that.

Want to know why I camp (when I do)?

Lean in close. Really close, I don't want this getting out.

    Because it works.

That's it. That's the entire reason. I camp when I get seriously altruistic teams who are both very eager for saves, and also not particularly skilled at working as a team to achieve those saves. Sure in those circumstances I could hook and run, but honestly why waste the time looking for survivors who are so eager to run straight to me?

If they stop going for saves willy nilly and focus on gens, I stop camping to get them off of those gens, but if by standing by a single hook I can keep 4 people occupied? Why the hell wouldn't I? Like any other strategy employed by killers in this game, it's effectiveness is almost fully up to the survivors. Whether you absolutely refuse to camp or refuse to do anything but camp, you're just taking your own tools out. Me? I go with whatever strategy I think will kill the most survivors in each particular match. Sometimes that means hooking one survivor early and slapping his friends down when they come in one at a time for him.

yea cuz you are low MMR

  • @MilManson said:

Didn't bother reading but if two gens pop in the first/second chase the guy is getting camped.

The same goes if I hear two boons within seconds of the game starting.

And I'll happily trade as I'm running star-struck and can turn a 1k into a 4k by picking up someone at the hook and then dropping them and going for the rest of the team as they gather like flys.

I don't play killer to be a form of entertainment that can be enjoyed by survivors and then them saying "GG" after they sat at the open exit gates because I played "fairly" and then get zero kills I intend on getting kills.

If I ruin a survivors game I honestly don't care.

"wo gens pop in the first/second chase the guy is getting camped." so you camp every game... cool once again the first 2 gens are free for the survivors i mean yea whatever ur new to the game cant blame ya but you need to stop thinking that you can 5 gen everyone 3 gens is super good if you 5 gen someone the survivors are just dog water...

well thats why i didnt say anything about camping a kill in the endgame i never said that you shouldnt camp in endgame to secure one kill... he is just making up stuff... i said this in a comment

"i get camping at the end game or camping out like 10 - 15 sec to make sure they die or go to 2nd hook"

  • i know that u havent played dbd for long but when you have 5000 6000 hours like me you will get why camping isnt valid at all.... u lose all PRESSURE ALL PRESSURE and good teammates will save and you get 0 kills at best 1 super rare occasions run slowdown as usual corrupt no way out buys you extra time too

  • @Sakurra said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2867686#Comment_2867686

I know...that's why I think it would compensate somehow if we receive more bloodpoints for being facecamped like that. If we can't play at least gives us extra bloodpoints. That's what I ask. And this way, maybe, just maybe, survivors will stop suicide on first hook to leave the match (because let's be honest, it's boring being facamped by a bubba and they want to play the game, not to wait just to give to these 3 survivors time to finish gens).

    That's my idea.

the same thing about tunneling i paly a game where a legion tunneled ME THE WHOLE MATCH and we got out all 4 and well ofc i get 11kbloodpoints for looping like 6 7 minutes...

had one game where i did 3.5 gens and almost no looping because a teammate did that then i died by camping that game landed me at 9k bp...

Troll? Ok lets talk other maps which I did not include as examples for other maps. And for the record I never claimed that you said every map.

Cowshed: you get a free path basically anywhere other than inside the corn field to main building

Father Cambells: same issue, can get to main building even though you might get hit in the process

Swamp: do I even have to mention anything here?

Storehouse: can very easily get to main building since all the loops around it have a pallet most of the time

Badham 1-5: That entire map is just a main building

Coal Tower: That map is so small main building is just another loop and even if you zone away from that they will most likely make it to shack

Dead Dawg: If you dont make it to dead dawgs main building idk what to say to you

Iron works: can most of the time get to main easily

Blood Lodge: is just huge so going for chases is already really de-incentivized

Gas Heaven: has those giant car walls.

Rancid Abattoir: you run they window to entity block everytime and is in basically the middle of the map

Red Forest: Do I even have to say anything about mothers dwelling or temple?

Eyrie of crows: maps just ormond 2.0

So far I've been able to pick at least 2 maps out of every non-liscensed realm. Which is a MAJORITY of the maps. Funny how I got labeled as a troll just because I used 3 maps as examples

Thanks i read all that when you took up more examples <3... You can still chase them away from the main buildings cant you?

do you know who fungoose is? watch him playing killer dudes IQ is ours combined x10 https://www.youtube.com/c/Fungoose

The best advice I can give here is try not to get bottlenecked if possible. His shred is most dangerous when there's only one direction you can run in. If you are in a loop where you would get bottlenecked, just throw the pallet and try to find a better loop where he can't use his shred as easily.

yea but when that happens he can shred and catch up almost instantly anyways and since some maps doesnt have reusable loops everywhere your not gonna get far anyways and if i do predrop way early he can most of the time just run around it and its a mindgame or a shred break

That is not right in the slightest. Can you really chase people away from the disturbed ward main building or ormond main building or even swamp main buildings? Even then spending that much time zoning takes just as much time as if I were to let them get to main. And it doesn't matter if "don't chase the better person" when someone can just easily run to a main that plays itself/

ur taking up 2 maps i didnt say EVERY MAP did i? no exactly end of discussion im not gonna read a troll comment like urs

the argument "Dont camp in endgame, go out there and practice chase more instead" doesnt make much sense to me, all that is going to happen in that scenario is that you're going to chase a survivor and then they'll run to their 99'd door and leave, and thats not something that you're gonna learn from

I usually destroy every dropped pallet - yes, this sometimes really helps towards the end.

I vary a bit with killers. At the moment i play Sadako - i like her. Against normal players she is pretty strong.

I kinda like Pinhead - same. Doing pretty good sometimes but suck when the players know how the box works and loop good.

Some Myers, Nemesis, Doc, Wraith, tried Blight these days - got his adept. With Demo (fun) i got smashed.

great choices i used to paly a lot of pinhaed really fun killer and he is pretty strong too like if you learn him he is great... the sad thing with sadako is that CoH makes it 2 times harder :/ but she is a fun killer to have only played like 6 7 matches on her outside the PTB so im not that good with her

ok this one you might not like but have u tried twins :) all survivors hate her you get tons of DCs and its a fun killer to play... tho you have to kinda hook camp or well trade hook stages... otherwise i really like playing plague to since she is pretty unique too!

I choose to not play against it, not that I can't play against it. I have zero problems with it on Nurse, Huntress, Pinhead, and Plague. I just choose to not play against it on the killers I like to play.

so you intentionally grief urself and give survivors a free win becasue u dont like a perk? cool!

Down and hook one and another comes to rescue leaving two on gens. Injure that rescuer and a third has to come off gens to support that initial rescuer or to take their place as the rescuer, leaving one on gens.

Or you can down and hook one and leave them, in which case they get a free rescue, no second injury, are free to both team repair another generator, all while leaving two others on the original gen.

The worst-case scenario where three people leave the hooked to die still ends up with one dead, three repairing three different gens, leaving three people to repair two gens before the game ends.

Like it or not there is only one good choice in that and to not make it while certainly allowed is never the better choice. Camping and tunneling works and emblems promote it, particularly on killers lacking mobility.

Obviously, this is a start of game philosophy and to try it after two gens have been repaired is not a good idea. No matter which gamble you make simply chasing does not mean you are doing better in the game.

Perk choice plays a large part in this of course.

Thats a good way to look at it... thats what i say to new people if you hook someone thats one person on a gen, you chase one thats 2 and then a third has to go for the unhook thats 3 survivors doing nothing :)

[I'm not] sorry for playing the video game I paid for with my money for my entertainment how I want to when I'm on my own team of only me. I have like 700 hours, easy, on just killer. Trust me, I won't sit here and say I'm got tier and win all my matches, but I am not new.

    [edit]

Did you know that not everybody plays video games to get better at them? Crazy thought, I know, but it exists.

and i've played since 2017 with almost 6000 hours.... if you cant down someone due to CoH thats a YOU problem not CoH... the thing CoH does is making it useless to hit multiple survivors its not really harder to down someone (ofc depends on which killer you play since some are hit and run like legion, wraith)

You haven't even seen how I play though. How do you know I have zero skill? Kappa

I wouldn't have several hundred hours on Nurse if I wasn't getting results with her, right? I did also mention I'll play her legit in the exact same post you quoted to tell me to stop playing how you don't want me to. Just saying~

it sounds like you have 0 skill since you cant play against CoH...

And what if all 4 are very good loopers?

After some games i won i get very good players now very often (i guess MMR 50% balance stuff here).

I am medium skilled i would think - there are players i can´t catch in a normal chase. Of course i change then and try the others. But sometimes there is no weak link.

Sometimes i catch one by accident. If i hook them there is no reason left to leave now. I get much better opportunities from them trying to save than i would get from chases.

I play - i improve - i can see that. But you get these groups who are just too good for you.

(I don´t say the CoH tunnel thing here - most know that)

i mean it is what it is if they are good at looping there isnt much you can do. but getting rid off goot pallets can be the difference between a 4k... i remember playing against a pig which i looped my first loop like 40 50 sec with 2 pallets than i got insta tunneled after the unhook, hooked again... after that i just started wasting pallets and she got no more downs or even a hit (since i played really safe and she just tunneled me)... same reason she didnt get rid of the strong pallets which allowed me to buy myself tons of time (and it is pig so its just a m1 killer :p) which killers do you play?

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 12
