It's really not that big of a deal. If you're getting frustrated at them clicking and/or tbagging you, then it's working because this is EXACTLY why survivors do it.
They do it to annoy you so that you play bad and commit to them. A crappy tactic yes, but it's an effective one.
Leaving a survivor who is annoying you with it is not a shameful thing to do, it can hurt the killer's pride of course but you have to try to work through it. It happens to us all, learn to keep your cool and remember that it's just a video game and get those irritating survivors.
-
It should ABSOLUTELY be the killer's choice to let the last survivor go or not.
Are you upset that you weren't the chosen one?
-
Play AFK Pig, some people seem to think she's OP π
-
I've had an AFK Pig maybe twice since her add-on change and honestly, I couldn't care less how someone decides to play their game.
It sucks being the one that dies first to a trap, of course, but it's literally all down to RNG. Some Pigs get no kills, some Pigs get all four kills and the few inbetween...why can't we just let people have some fun?
I'm sure the next match will be better.
-
Frustration tactics...clearly working. π€·
-
It's no fun at all now. And I'm constantly getting matches against killers who are wrecking me within seconds, my friend and I haven't escaped for ages and yet we're still going up against killer players who are clearly way better than us.
Now, I do have to say that I don't particularly care about escaping, I would rather take a couple fun chases and bunch of bloodpoints than run out of the door...but I'm not even getting that! I guess I just gotta get good again π
And when I play killer...DAMN! Survivors are WAY out of my skill range even though I haven't played killer in months! I just don't get it.
No salt, just my experience sadly. And yet I'm still addicted to this game ffs.

Survivors should start the trial in the dying state.
No, they should start the trial already hooked, and if they kobe, only THEN can they begin the game π
-
Rip matchmaking completely then.
No-one would ever find a match because everyone would block eachother based on a tiny little thing they did in a match. Anyone will be too quick to block someone for a quick tbag, flashlight click, or even an endgame camp. It would get ridiculous.

"Tell me, why would I ever bring a perk that allowed me to see the auras of my teammates around me over an exhaustion perk."
You know there is room in your build to run an exhaustion perk AND an aura-reading perk?
I know, I know...mind blown.

Why should I bother playing it friendly? I do it when it is RNG, just unlucky...
That map is really good for camping, because you can often block one side and survivors will have hard time saving.
I actually have nothing against camping, it works...but camping someone simply over the use of map offerings is pretty petty.

I mean, when I see RPD offering, I just want to know that I am camping correct survivor.
I can tell when all survivors use offering, but when some are missing it's hard to guess...
And this is exactly the reason WHY you can't see this until after the match.
I hate map offerings too, even as survivor, but this is sad π
-
Just stop allowing it to get to you. It's a video game.

Nemi uses his unsolicited appendage, what more could you want?

If they did that, no-one would ever play public matches again.
-
Dead By Daylight isn't Mortal Kombat and one hook instadeath is too easy and wouldn't work.
This has to be a troll post, either that or you haven't been playing very long.
-
You do realise that the rights holders of the licensed characters have to contractually agree on allowing things to be added or changed?

No fun allowed, sorry.
Seconded. Only misery.
-
If that was a thing, no-one would find a game since all the entitled survivor mains would block someone purely on the grounds they got "tunneled" or whenever they felt the killer was playing unfairly...which is pretty much 99% of their matches.
Goes for killers who got teabagged and cried about it too.
Glad this isn't a thing.
-
The Crimson Chin hahahaha okay that got me.
-
As much as I like the idea, what happens when you take away the ranks and new killer players go up against a previously red rank sweat squad SWF who still play as if they're holding onto their rank 1 badges, because they can't just turn off the need to play well...even knowing they're against someone who doesn't know a thing about the game, the killer would get bullied even then.
And the same goes for the other way around. A bunch of new solo players or even a casual friend group going up against some sweaty old red rank killer who still has it built into their brain that they need to play optimally and win no matter what...you can't switch off the need/want to mindgame even the worst of players.
This game needs some kind of matchmaking and MMR is on its way, not saying it'll be fantastic...but an unranked DBD would not be a happy one. You can't mix casual and competitive players in one pool.
-
Yeah, stop people having fun with their friends and socialising while playing the game they love! π
-
I can see the point of this, but playing the game would become a chore since the ban goes off internet cutouts too. I play killer when I feel like it, and shouldn't be forced to or have to wait a full day to play a game I love.
-
Offerings get burnt at the loading screen so once we load in, they're already consumed.
If the killer DCs during loading, it goes back into our inventory...
...Unless that's bugged now.
-
I'm super happy with it, had a lot of fun today and didn't cry about anything. Felt great.
-
We'll just stand sill and let you get your free hooks then.
-
I'm not enjoying this at all, it's too much to process which is making me lose focus. I need the top half of my screen to focus on where the killer is and what my teammates are doing...got stalked by a leaning Ghostface and one hit downed due to him hiding in an area where my icons were causing a blind spot, since I only had that one area to look at for his arrival...and would've spotted him if it wasn't for this new UI. I like the portraits and style, but I wish they were back where they were originally. It's all just clutter on the screen.
Hits are wonky as hell, might be down to the new animations, but my lord...getting hit by a killer from Mars is generally acceptable by laws of latency...but this is something else.
Emblems are bugged! I'm getting NO emblem points for Unbroken, even though I'm earning them, so I'm de-pipping for no reason.
I hadn't had any fun at all after this update, it's felt like a chore and this is my worst nightmare because I love this game so much. I'm worried that changes like these might make me put it down after all the hours I put into it. I don't want that at all. I welcome change and can adapt easily, but this update has caused so much frustration already, I dread even thinking about playing because I know how annoyed I'm going to get.
-
I hate it, it's way too cluttered! I need the top half of my screen clear to focus, why fix something that wasn't broken??
-
This is a nice idea, but I believe just removing perk tiers would be enough.
-
I agree that the hook struggle mechanic needs to either be removed or changed in some way. I already have a repetitive strain injury and this mechanic is starting to exacerbate it...I really would hate to put the game down due to this.

There's already a ton of keys in every lobby because survivor mains know that the key change is happening soon.
There's a ton of keys regardless of any changes. But they're getting changed soon so let's play on and see what happens.
-
They're already addressing keys but obviously aren't going to announce to us when they're dropping the change, because you know exactly what will happen...there'll be keys in every damn lobby.
-
It's a nice idea but it's so cluttered!
-
Why? The mechanic is there for people to play with their loadouts and bloodwebs...and possibly bathroom breaks before the match starts, not to mention the option to leave if you happen to come across someone who's caused you problems ingame before, so the luxury of being able to dodge a potentially stressful lobby is there too.
Keep it as it is. It's just one extra minute.
-
It's a difficult situation really. I would like if they replaced the function of the "Leave Match" button to something of a forfeit.
You should still receive a safety pip or de-pip if you didn't meet the emblem requirements...but I also wish we had bots to replace quitters because then, no-one's really getting screwed over when someone decides to give up due to whatever reason.
I think BHVR could really work on some kind of system to help players in these situations instead of slapping a penalty on someone who might've just gotten overwhelmed in a frustrating match.
I know a lot of people might abuse it, and that's inevitable but it's just an idea...it breaks my heart that so many people feel they need to give up when a match becomes unbearable and that goes for both survs and killers. It's a game, yes, but we're all real people with real emotions too and a lot of players forget that.
-
Who cares? It's a bit of fun

Nobody is getting punished when the killer WANTS to play against SWF, the ONLY one getting punished right now by SWF is "average-Joe KILLER" who just wants to have a nice match
My point is, is that you can't make facing a SWF team a selective option without it absolutely affecting the entirety of the player base, and making matchmaking even worse than it is and has been for so long.
Not every SWF is a death squad, and "Average-Joe" over here most likely doesn't see a top % team every other match...but still needs a change of pants when he faces a challenge. A nice match just screams an easy match to me. Everyone wants a nice match.
-
Yep, get rid of Self Care and the bug will be fixed.
-
You can't have an opt out selection because then, no-one would play against pre-made teams...leaving the majority of the game's player base unable to play unless they split up and play solo. You can't punish people for playing with their friends.
However, adding a feature where the game recognises that the killer is facing a SWF lobby, and automatically applies a bloodpoint bonus to said killer would be great...that way, if the match is stressful and perhaps "unwinnable", it wouldn't be such a bad thing.
-
I'm super sad about this too because I'm on console...AND a Dwight main :(
Exclusive items like this aren't very fun, just stressful. I gave up trying.
-
I really want to agree with this because I've had similar experiences, especially along the lines of having killed someone and then getting said dead survivor on my team...therefor getting sandbagged as a means of revenge.
But ban systems can be highly abused, I feel like if something like this was implemented, anyone could report anyone for the slightest inconvenience. I've known people to freak out when random survivors bring the killer to them while in a chase, it's not always intentional, not everyone runs Bond (I do for this reason, so I can leg it away from loops I know a teammate is working on a gen in, or if someone's running the killer to ME)
It's a huge grey area, just like the DC ban system - the game cannot decipher a crash from a rage quit because a lot of people rage quit by closing the app, a crash or internet taking a dump pretty much does the same thing...while I agree with you, I really don't think it'd work sadly, too many genuine people would end up receiving unnecessary bans.
-
It's a big deal to me because Dwight's my main and I would really love to have it...
Some streamers are finding ways to make it easier for us console plebs to have a better chance at getting one, but still there's no chance, I've tried three times today and now I'm just sad. Exclusive stuff is stressful, I wish we could all just earn them.
-
Dead Hard is fine.

Because it increases the chance of the survivor being instantly killed and out of the game. Which is far better than them wasting a minute to get it off then having to hook them 3 times to kill them.
Besides when the trap activates, they HAVE to get if off, therefore they don't care about being stealthy or sneaky, they just have to run to the boxes. This is good for hunting them easily.
That's a fair point. i main Pig but have never thought to use this add-on because I've always been worried it would just cause the game to go even quicker but I might even give it a go.
-
I don't know why you'd want to stop survivors from seeing boxes until their traps are active, it makes them focus on gens which is the opposite of what killers want.
-
If I'm going to get punished by wanting to socialise while playing my favourite game with my friends, I'd never pick DBD up again and I'm pretty sure the Devs don't want people dropping it for that.
I want balance too, but not in a way that casual, non-toxic, fun-loving groups of friends will be absolutely at a disadvantage for. Sometimes my group barely gets a gen done because we're too busy memeing or just enjoying ourselves and not sweating over the objective...and when we DO sweat over the objective, being rank 1, we still get insane killers that destroy us before 2 gens get complete.
God forbid people want to play and have fun with their friends.

The current rank system was butchered by bhvr.
They widened the ranks that can be matched after they nerfed rank reset to only set you back a single tier. This caused red ranks to fill up and increased lobby times. Killers were also getting sick of red ranks and de-ranking to lower ranks exacerbating the problem.
The old rank reset was perfect... Good players and killers got back to red ranks quickly, while the lesser skilled players took longer, creating an even spread of ranks until near the next reset.
No idea why they changed it.
I 100% agree with this, yes there were de-pip squads back then but there wasn't this huge issue we're dealing with now. We should all reset back to rank 10-15 again and work our way back to the ranks we belong in, the red rank pool is way too big now and diluted by players that are still learning the game.
