I wish there were a "Yes, but for a different reason than those listed above" option.
I believe the perk is balanced, except for the fact that half of its function (being able to recover from the dying state) is useless because no killer in their right mind would leave a survivor on the ground who they know for a fact can get themselves back up. So essentially, as a survivor, you're trading permanent exposure to be able to not leave a blood trail. It's not a worthwhile exchange. The risk far outweighs the reward.
Therefore, the only change I believe No Mither needs is that it shouldn't be so obvious to the killer if someone has it. The broken status symbol should only be visible to survivors, and instead of starting the trial injured, the perk should activate on first hit.
-
A cynical person would say that the only reason they do anything good for the players is because it's in their best business interests to keep the players happy so they keep supporting the game financially. So unfortunately none of that is going to convince anyone who already believes that the devs only care about money to change their mind.
Having said that, I personally very much agree with the premise that the developers care about more than just how much money they can make, because it seems fairly obvious to me that they are passionate about the game itself. I believe that they value the contribution the players have made to keeping the game going and helping to improve it, not just because it makes them money, but because it allows them to keep doing something that they love. And because the developers are humans with feelings, and everyone loves that warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that something you worked on is bringing other people joy.

That's in the 3.4.0 update, which is currently being tested in the PTB on PC. The update is due to go live on all platforms on December 3rd.
-
Whether going AFK is a reportable offence or not, using a bot ("botting") definitely is. As far as I'm aware, killers don't behave like that by default, so it was almost certainly a bot.
I would report him in-game for Unsportsmanlike Conduct (in-game reports are mandatory) and optionally you can submit a support ticket if you have additional evidence, such as a recording, of the incident.
-
The fact that Yui has the good hair physics would suggest that the devs are wanting to have them in the game, presumably on all characters. I think they originally removed Kate's hair physics because her hair would sometimes glitch halfway across the map and reveal her location, but once they fix that bug I don't see why they wouldn't restore the bouncy hair too 😊
-
I believe it's completely random - that is, every map has an equal chance of being selected. If someone burns an offering to go to specific realm, the map is chosen randomly from all the maps in that realm.

Fantastic! I really appreciate the insight and help. It is unfortunate that those changes won't be coming to console right away - but that's great for PC. So far I love the balance on both - though it is good that it's coming to PC first cause that is where I've seen the most DCs (which never makes sense to me, but that's another discussion lol )
No worries! Yeah, they like to test things on PC first to streamline the process (because it's the only platform that they don't have to get another company's approval to roll out updates on) but hopefully it will be released across all platforms soon!

No, Enduring has been around a lot longer than DS has. Originally it was designed only to counter pallet stuns.

How is everyone so far along? I play almost daily and I'm only tier 27. Is there a faster way to tier up?
Everyone who's above level 30 has almost certainly been doing every single Tome challenge. That's the fastest way to get Rift Fragments.
-
I'm pretty sure it won't be given out for free since, like the Bloodletting Shirt, people paid actual money to get it.
I suppose there is a possibility that they might add it to the ingame store at some point in the future, but it seems unlikely, since Deathgarden cost people a lot more money than any cosmetic, and there are probably people who only really bought it for the exclusive mask.

Exploiting bugs to obtain a competitive advantage is listed as a reportable offence in the game rules, so yes. However, an in-game report under "Exploits" is required. You can also optionally submit a customer support ticket with evidence to support your complaint.

It's been what 2 or 3 updates now? No ones has complained yet.
You mean no one has complained about the feature since it was implemented so why are they removing it? You're right, but player complaints aren't the only thing the devs take into account when making adjustments to the game (contrary to what many people believe).

Yeah but before dedicated servers it was due to YOUR or the KILLER's bad latency.
Now, Dead Hard barely works. I mean, it works if you activate it 3 seconds early. Dedicated servers have broken dead hard to the severity, it was never this bad before the servers.
Just out of curiosity, how do we know that it's a latency issue and not just the perk bugging out? Because I'm pretty sure I've seen it happen in games where the ping was perfectly fine, but before and after the introduction of the servers. And sometimes it's worked when the ping was terrible. In my experience, there hasn't been much of a correlation between the ping and whether DH decides to work or not, it just seems random.

If this was on PC, I'm guessing that the globe icon has something to do with cross-platform play between Steam and the Windows Store. If that's the case, the reason you wouldn't be able to see his profile is because he doesn't have one that you can view, because he's playing on a different platform.
-
This has been the case for a long time. I'm pretty sure the perk is bugged, because this was a problem way before dedicated servers. Half the time, you use Dead Hard, and you end up exhausted on the ground. Bug or not, it's certainly something that needs to be fixed, and has done for ages.
In the meantime, unless you're willing to accept the risk that DH might not work half the time, I would suggest switching it out for a different exhaustion perk.
-
Completing the epilogue definitely won't prevent you from going back and finishing the other challenges on any of the levels. All it does is grant you the rewards for completing that level (10 Rift Fragments and a charm, as you can see on the right) and allow you to start doing challenges on the next level if you choose.

But blood orbs are hidden when he activates the power, meaning that their tracking capabilities are not effective anymore once you’re strongest.
I think it’s a good enough balance for now
I agree that he's balanced, I wasn't making a point of my own, just trying to help sort out the confusion around a point someone else was trying to make.

Clown seems like a pretty sweaty dude tbh, so at least you're being thematically consistent.

Honestly, I don't think anyone really has a handle on how to play either as or against him yet. He's been out less than a week, and it takes some time to get used to new characters and mechanics, learn the ins and outs, and formulate strategies for effective play or countering.
All anyone can give you at this point are general tips - try to stay healthy as much as possible, stay out of his way when he's dashing, etc. One thing I've noticed about him is his turning is very bad, so sharp corners can be helpful in evading him during a chase, but I think good players have already figured out how to mitigate that somewhat.
The best advice I can probably give you at this stage is to play him a bit yourself. Learn how his power works, learn what's easy to do and what isn't, and it will help to make you better at surviving against him.

? What's this altruism experiment thing
It was a
n externally-sponsoredsocial experiment that DBD invited players to participate in. They were given a strict set of rules and had to follow them, playing the game either altruistically or not. It was only open to people in the US (and maybe Canada, I can't remember) on PC. Signups were a few weeks ago, the experiment was conducted last week I believe, and people were promised ingame rewards for participating if they followed all the rules correctly.EDIT: I had heard that the altruism experiment was part of a larger, external project, but it appears I was misinformed. Apologies.

Unless the killer came and opened the door, then yes, it sounds like a glitch. You can report it as a bug here https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bug-reports
-
Admitting to deranking is not bannable, but threats and abuse definitely are. However, while the support ticket is optional, an ingame report is compulsory for harrassment and communication abuse.
If you don't report them ingame at the end of the match(es) in question, the Support team won't be able to do anything with your ticket.
-
My guess would be that you would be able to get it by owning both games on console, the same as with the PC version, although currently Deathgarden isn't available on console so I assume the mask isn't either.
It has recently been confirmed that the game will be receiving its final update soon and seems to be in the process of shutting down on PC, so it's entirely possible it will never arrive on console at this point.

dont i need some kind of proof? (also, thanks)
It can help, but if you don't have any that's not necessarily the end of the story. I know for a fact that the team can check your account to know how many bloodpoints to restore in cases of wiped progress. So I don't know precisely how much information they have about your account activity, but I think it's not unlikely that they are able to see your progress in the Rift and your purchase history, and thus verify whether you're telling the truth about lost serum and be able to provide compensation.
Send in the ticket and see how you go. Try to provide as much information as possible, make sure to follow all their instructions for submitting a ticket, and include your Player Cloud ID (which I believe can be found at the bottom of the options menu ingame) to help speed up the process.

Okay, yeah, that's how you get your power, but you're talking about tracking?
I'm confused. Is this complaining about his power as a whole or just his blood orbs?
I think what they're trying to say is that Oni's tracking ability directly synergises with him activiating his secondary power (in the sense that his tracking is essentially what charges his power) in a way that Plague's doesn't, which makes him a more formidable opponent.
-
If I were you, I would go to support.deadbydaylight.com and submit a ticket under "Loss of Progress". Unless it as a mistake on your part, the support team should hopefully be able to do something about restoring your lost serum.
-
The main problem is that making the matchmaking tighter would result in longer queue times or no games at all. Sometimes, there simply aren't enough people of your rank in the queue at that moment, so the game matches you with people further outside your rank because it assumes you'd rather have an unevenly matched game than no game at all.
Thing is, if the devs tighten up the matchmaking, people are going to start complaining about queue times. If they try to improve queue times by loosening the matchmaking requirements, people will complain about the matchmaking being bad. It's a bit of a lose-lose, and they're trying very hard to find that balance and figure out something that works for everyone with all the different regions, platforms and times that they have to take into account.
-
A couple of reasons - the first is that people like to complain if they're not 100% satisfied, and if they have a bad game or get frustrated trying to complete one of the challenges, or they're finding it boring grinding out another one, they tend to automatically blame the game design without considering that their attitude might be the main problem.
Secondly, as you said, "if people are freaked out by this stuff, then they have no chance of getting Tome IV done." I think that's what's bothering people. They have problems with some of the grindier challenges, or they have a series of bad games trying to finish master challenges, or maybe they are aware that level 3 of the Tome is being released in a few days and they still haven't finished level 2. And then they freak out because they think, "how am I ever going to finish the whole Tome if I'm struggling even now, and it's only going to get harder from here?"
So it's a combination of genuine struggles or frustrations with level two, and dreading what's to come on that basis.
-
It took me a couple of tries with SWF, because we got unlucky and just didn't get enough generators done the first time around. But we like to help each other finish challenges if we can, so the plan was always that other people would 99% generators and then call me over to finish them, which made the challenge very easy.
-
Killers aren't the ones in need of additional objectives, they have enough to do as it is.
Also, the whole point of hex totems is that they can be destroyed. Hex perks are meant to be high risk, high reward. The perk is powerful if you can get use out of it, but you run the risk of it getting destroyed before you're able to utilise it properly. Implementing even the possibility of reenabling hex perks once they've been destroyed would make them far too powerful.
-
By the way, since your question was about the time as well as the date, updates such as Tomes typically release at about 11am ET.
-
To answer your second question, there are plans to implement a new disconnection punishment system which will lock people out of the queue for some time after disconnecting from a match, depending on how frequently they have been disconnecting. It's currently being tested on the PTB on PC, and will probably be implemented on PC when Chapter 14 goes live. The system is reliant on the dedicated servers to function, though, so it likely won't be coming to consoles until the servers do.
You can find more information about it linked in the November Developer Update, under "Dedicated Servers" https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/103996/developer-update-november-2019#latest

Thanks for replying and thanks for clarifying! Like I said, I wasn't sure if it was a disconnect or not. Will definitely make a post in the bug report section later.
No worries, glad to be of service ☺️
-
It's actually against forum rules to encourage people to disconnect from matches, so please don't promote it, especially not as a counter to certain killers or tactics.
-
To answer the second part of your question, the amount of fragments you get as rewards for completing the challenges adds up to roughly 350, which is half of what you need to complete the full Rift, so 350 of your fragments will need to come from pure XP.
Whether or not you are able to earn this XP organically while completing challenges, or whether you'll have to play more outside of that, depends entirely on how many matches it takes you to complete the Tome.
-
This isn't really a disconnection issue, just a bug. There's no specific known cause for the infinite loading screen bug, except that it happens most often when leaving a game and seems to have risen in frequency recently. I would make a topic in the Bug Reports section of the forum, since the more information the devs have about occasions where it's happened, the easier it is for them to fix it.

Doesnt the syringe say that any add-ons perks and offerings of any kind do not affect the 16 second time
Not sure, although it wouldn't be the first time a perk or addon description has been inaccurate. Based on ingame experience and something I could have sworn I read from a dev on the forums on that exact subject, I'm about 90% sure that the speed is affected by healing speed perks equipped by the user of the syringe, such as Botany Knowledge or We'll Make It.

I want to clarify, I'm not suggesting that it should be easier to rank. I'm saying that when you arrive at your natural rank that your average kills should be two but, currently, it seems to be one kill.
It depends on what your natural rank is, I suppose. Because the requirements for depips, safety pips, etc. change with each rank. So at some ranks a 2k will generally net a safety pip, at others you can rank up with that.
It's a good point you bring up about player satisfaction, though, and the fact that it can feel demoralising to constantly 1k at your "natural" rank. It's part of why many people believe that the victory cube, while flawed in many ways, had its merits as a measure of killer performance when compared to the emblem system.

"I was never a fan of the exclusive cosmetics being given to everyone really, but I do think that charms are different. Charms are a way of preserving what was good about exclusive skins - that sense of "I was here", like a souvenir or a badge that represents something special - without impacting too heavily on people's ability to customise their character. Also, charms don't face the same issues with third-party reselling or platform exclusivity that exclusive skins did."
Preserving something like "I was here" after 3 years of DBD? And in fact they will be selled on third-party reselling platforms: Didnt you see what happens with accounts with twitch shirts? Accounts with Twitch/Kingkong/Legacy items are sold for enormous prices and with this decision the devs only give such accounts a higher value on those reselling plattforms.
"And don't you think it's a bit silly to complain just because someone else was selected to receive something special and you weren't? That's like complaining that it's not fair that only people who win the holiday contests are granted free auric cells by the devs, or it's not fair that not every member of the forum is a moderator."
No, it is silly to publish double-morals and inconsistens marketing decisions. One of the reasons why exclusives will be free for everyone was to stop the exclusion of people and your example of winning a holiday contest underlines this reason is neglected. I recommend reading my former comment - you did not understand the message behind this post - its a critique on the interface between community management, product management and marketing
"The Fog Whisperer charm is just one way of recognising a certain player as a person who has made a positive contribution to the growth of the game in a particular area. It's okay for people who have been granted a special status to be able to bear a token of that status."
Next to the Twitch and Kingkong shirts? Next to the thousands of auric cells and DLCs with each update? Although a certain percentage is responsible for a negative contribution to the community behavior? Although they insult the devs in another language in their streams? So in your opinion there is only one possibility to have a special status? So it does not matter how helpful you were within 7000 or more hours behind the scenes like support work outside the game (bugs, videos, artworks, cosplays, reports, promotions etc.)
The developers can't stop people from selling their accounts. It's simply impossible. They did what they could by reducing the value of exclusive skins to nil, but I very highly doubt that account sales are going to be a problem with Fog Whisperers. And if they are, I expect the devs have the power to remove cosmetics from someone's account just as easily as they can grant them.
I did in fact read your former comment, and understood the message perfectly well. Just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I don't understand your point. I already explained in my comment above how exclusive charms recognising certain key members of the community are very different from cosmetic giveaways just for being in the right place at the right time, and therefore they're not being inconsistent in the way you're claiming.
As for your final point, I'm not the one who picks the Fog Whisperers. You can have your own opinion about whether or not they deserve the recognition they get from the developers, but frankly it doesn't matter. If the team decide that a certain person has contributed to the game and its community in a positive manner, they are well within their rights to reward that person in any way they see fit. It is not my opinion that there is "only one possibility to have a special status", nor did I ever say such a thing, so please don't put words in my mouth and pretend I did. But it's totally up to the developers what and who they value, and why, and what kind of "special status" they choose to bestow on them.
-
Just the way it is sometimes, unfortunately.
It sucks, but all you can do is pick yourself up and move on to the next game.
-
Everything always looks cooler in the trailer, especially when it comes to video games. That's because there are a lot fewer limitations on what you can do in an animated cinematic than in the game itself.
When something is being advertised, it's being showcased at its best. You should always expect something to look better in the ad than it does in reality.
