Yeah these first are annoying like bug that devs couldnt fix made into feature they are doing it a lot lately like look at ghoul firts hinder when he vaults with leap that stayed after kidnap tech was removed thankfully and then his last where survivors can vault through when you vaulting with your power just bugs that are make into feature like cheap band aid.

On ghoul ok he is strong but knight? He has nothing if survivors can loop at this point they should either buff his guards inteligence by not doing this crap with window or made them faster (not assasin maybe) or reduce that 3x times when knight is close to like half so he can play more around guard (even when its not what people wanted).

He is just noob stomper at this point. THe hitbox part or when you cant drop with guard well I take it as pinicle of DBD balance but why knight suffers it when there are killers with stronger powers that can even travel through multiple floors is compleate mystery to me especialy when knight strongest power is he himself because of speed so guards arent even that strong and their pathing sucks hard.

I agree. I think Knight's concept is awesome (as in "very different from the usual Killer powers"), but it's undeniable that he struggles a lot against medium-to-good survivors. I play this Killer almost everyday, and I have realized some things:

    1. This "fake vault tech" to confuse the guards renders them almost completely useless (except the Carnifex, which we use to break pallets). This needs to be removed.
    2. Huge cooldowns does not allow the Knight's fantasy to fullfill itself through his gameplay, which is a strategic Killer, commanding the ''pace of the game", forcing survivors to shift gens, play around the flag, move around a lot. Just keep the guards busy. The cooldown only starts counting when the guards disappear (or hit you). Then you got yourself almost 30s of peace.
    3. If you refuse to use the "call to arms" addon, you cannot surprise survivors with "guards coming from nowhere", as his summoning-path lenght is basically the same as his terror radius distance. As a survivor, I can simply pre-leave the vicinity, or hide in a locker until the selected guard's patrol ends. If you try to summon mid-chase, they get to see the pathing and can simply juke around it.
    4. Once the guards realize they found someone, it takes almost 2 to 3 seconds before they actually start acting. They scream and make that "open arms animation", then start running after the survivor, which gives the survivor plenty (as in PLENTY) of time to react.
    5. His swords are usually gigantic, and he hold them on his shoulder. Looping a Knight in big structures is kinda easy, as you can always see the tip of his sword above the structure, not to mention he is a tall Killer, which kinda ruins the purpose of the "Town's watch torch" addon. This addon works greatly on indoors maps, but we cannot force maps now. Most of the time we end up playing in open maps…
    6. As I said before, sometimes, creating a summoning path gets blocked by no reason or bumps your camera on top of a structure/hook. I'm going to install OBS again and try to capture some of these ''bugs''.

So… based on these observations, I can make a few suggestions that might improve his gameplay and help the Knight fullfill his fantasy concept…

    1. Remove fake vault tech, improve the guards AI.
    2. Reduce his cooldowns, specially Assassin's, since he only hunts you for a very short ammount of time, and experienced survivors never get hit. That or increase Assassin's speed to 4.6m/s. Kaneki, Henry Creel and Krasue have almost garanteed hits (you need to be very good to juke Henry and Krasue all the time, and Kaneki gets a free hit all the time, so…) I genuinely do not believe that this would break the game.
    3. Someone from Behavior once said they've been thinking about reducing the overall number of addons and make some of them base kit. I believe this addon should be Knight's base kit. His only advantage, so far, is the surprise factor.
    4. Reduce that animation delay to 1.5s or 1s. Survivors have pallets that they can drop and force the guards to ''cross it'' or ''countour it'', and when some guards ''dematerialize to cross the pallet'', they lose speed. So survivors should have less time to react. (Not to mention perks such as Sprint Burst + Vigil, Lithe, that Nicholas Cage one…)
    5. Aesthetically wise, not much can be done here. Maybe allow the Killers to have increase chance of being sent to specific maps? We cannot turn the Knight into a mythological dwarf, neither reduce his swords to daggers…
    6. That can be easily fixed by removing the restraint on path-creation. Once the path has been created, if the guards find the path pass inside a hook, they simply countour that hook and keep chasing. Making the pathing more…fluid?
  • Honestly? With that humongously good chase power she has, she's ought to receive some nerfs.

How is she punished in any way for erroneously using her powers? She's not punished at all. Her ability's cooldown is almost non-existent.

From a survivor side perspective… playing against Spirit is simply unberable.

Subtle cheaters have people paranoid, I swear it. I got accused of having instaheal cheat and I'm screaming "Autodiadact is right there" in the postgame lobby. I guess they saw me luck out with 5 stacks and 2 skill checks, which got the heal off before they got to me, and that was enough for them.

I've also seen people call things sus without outright confirming when they've been beat. I've hugged a rock against a huntress and had people hit me with a "Hmmm" after because they let me greed the pallet 6x over.

Subtle cheating is way more damaging long term than the obvious trolls, because it erodes trust and gives some players struggling with their ego an out. And, in total honesty, I've had some killer games where I've been very unsure about the frequency I was losing 50/50s. Could be pure luck, could be walls. A proper banwave cannot come soon enough.

Behavior has been issueing some bans recently, against save injectors and cheaters, but I couldn't agree more. You said what most people struggle to find the right words to say. As of today, we are facing one of the biggest cheating waves we've ever faced. Some cheaters are stupid enough to gloat about it. It's crazy, seriously. We need ban waves and perhaps a new anti-cheat? Something stronger than EAC, 'cause they usually get banned and buy new accounts on those ''x-mals'' websites for 5 bucks, 10 bucks, and start cheating again and again and again.

  • @Mandy said:

That is definitely not something we've said! And I'm sorry that you had both that in-game experience and that experience with a content creator :(

If you were not participating in the cheating, not in a SWF with them - there's no way that could come back on you.

Thanks a lot for clarifying it, Mandy! 🥰
I do play with a lot of people from unofficial discord servers, such as Dead by Daylight Brazil, Dead by Divas (😂), but so far, I haven't noticed anything weird or cheating behavior with the members. Everytime I do, I report using the in-game system and explain why I'm reporting. If I'm suspicious of someone, I usually write things like "High chances of being a cheater due to…" or "It's worth investigating 'cause he's read my aura even though I had self-preservation active at that moment".

If we all do our part, I'm sure cheating will become less and less common by the day. Thanks again!

  • Thanks for the answers, guys. I wish someone from Behavior could answer as well and help clarify, cause I've searched for a while and haven't found anything about it. Nevertheless, I have reported the streamer and his moderator for directed abuse and harassment towards me. I hope twitch takes the appropriate measures in this case. I had over 20 (out of 70) people accusing me, saying things like they wish I get banned for life, that I'm scum, that I deserve to go to hell and stuff like that. The others were silent or just calling me accomplice as well. It's frightening the power that a streamer has to influence his followers with misinformation. Crazy, really.

  • @DemonicDemons said:

Usually internet is the culprit but I have been noticing this way more often, it feels like it's intentionally coded into the game because at one point I was able to hit consistent great skill checks back to back now I'm finding it extremely hard to time just one.

That's what I thought as well. Maybe it's an RNG thing, to avoid "muscular memory"? I wish someone from Behavior cloud clarify this for us. My ping is always the same, around 18~28, but the feeling I have is that I have to hit the skill check 1 to 2s before it hits the mark, it's absurd.

  • @THE_Crazy_Hyena said:

I think this issue is directly linked to framerate. If you are playing on 120 fps, and are able to maintain a stable 120 fps, then the skillchecks does feel smooth and responsive.
However, once this framerate starts to fluctuate, that is when you are noticing inconsistency in the skillchecks.

But if that was the case, if my fps never fluctuates (I play on 60fps), then this shouldn't happen, right? It's happens every other match. My fps never fluctuates. I have a rtx 5070ti, Ryzen 7 9700x. Steady temps. No problems whatsoever. I'm still trying to figure this out.

These are not going to be for Prestige rewards…these are for the upcoming anniversary period, we just got a bit excited and and revealed too much too soon 😜

I see. Well, not gonna say ''no'' to sneak peaks, I love sneak peaks, hahaha!

But since you're already here… I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you… reaching prestige 100 is no easy task. Of course, it's way easier if we have a ''one month bloodmoon event'' to aid us, but without it, it's no easy task. Could you guys think about a cosmetic, a full-body skin for us, as a reward? I think it would be great. I agree with my fellow players… the avatars are cool and all, but we have the feeling that there is something still missing after months of grinding.

Are you blind? People have been asking for improvements for almost 10 years. The devs don't care nor listen.

    Why fight a losing battle?

Oh, really? And how exactly are people fighting? By getting a thread like mine 10~15 comments? Hell of a fight, eh? With that much fighting I'm not surprised nothing gets fixed.

    @Your_Dad_Playing_DbD said:

They tried adding bots in lobbies in one of the earlier iterations of 2v8 and it was a disaster. Nobody wanted to play with bots in the lobbies. Also, just play survivor while you’re waiting. Also, how are you waiting 35 minutes? I think the most I’ve waiting is like 15-20. The estimated wait times have always been longer than actual wait times for me.

But of course. The bots we have today are simply brain dead. With the proper care, bots could become "intermediate level players". But that requires investment, requires good programming, etc. The Meg bot, in "The Game" map, sometimes keep jumping from gaps right above stairs and repeating the proccess over and over again, really "dooooh". That's just one example.
As for the estimated times, for me, they're always longer. A 30 minutes wait = 35 minutes, basically.

  • @KingKongBubba said:

You are asking for something that will never happen.

And how do you know? Scientists should start looking into why people are so damn fast about accepting "nothing good will ever happen" just to self-affirm their own lack of commitment when fighting for improvements. Of course basking in the ambience, chillin' around is GREAT and everybody loves it, but how about a little commitment every now and then?

  • His gameplay mechanic is not the problem. The problem lies on easy hits / guaranteed hits (sometimes even through big rocks, walls, etc) + absurdly crazy good mobility + possibility of ignoring pallets, which is a core defensive mechanics for survivors + perks that synergizes really well with this Killer (which is kinda funny, 'cause I can't think of a lot of Killers that have great synergy with a lot of perks like he does) + larvae addon (free Bamboozle, basically a 5th perkslot) + addon that makes us scream (hex:face the darkness with no counterplay except for Jake's "calm spirit", basically a 6th perk).

Everything works so well for him, in so many aspects… that it leaves us with a MISERABLE EXPERIENCE AS SURVIVOR.

Now that I've said my piece… here are some suggestions to balance this Killer for good.

If Behavior decides to keep his leaps crossing the entirety of the Movie Theater's map:

    1. Base movespeed 4.4m/s
    2. Increase the cooldown to leap

This way, he'll still be extremely mobile, but will have to work for his food instead of simply leaping every 5 seconds or so.

Now, if Behavior decides to greatly reduce his leaping distance, things are easier, as he'll be less oppresive

    1. Maintain shorter cooldowns
    2. Keep the ability to cross pallets
    3. Reduce his movespeed to 4.4m/s to avoid the famous ''jumping pallet + almost insta recover + 4.6ms + guaranteed m1".

The way it is now, this killer simply have it all today, which is an absurd. He has to have some flaws, like Plague, that won't hit us from a distance if no one cleans in one of her ''pools'' or ''sinks''.

I can trace a parallel with Spirit. What are Spirit flaws? None. Great addons, great mobility, killer instinct if near a survivor, intangibility while phasing + instahit out of phase… What is this Killer's main flaw? Being 4.4m/s? Please… she can spam her phase. What is Nurse's flaw? Her fatigue? She has three blinks nowadays, with addons, she couldn't care less about pallets, she crosses the map in seconds… if she's being played by an experienced player, there is no ''tricking her'', "outsmarting her".

  • There is a brazilian player that streams and usually play like this very often: Sanry.

He has a YT channel as well, although he uploads a variety of different matches in his channel (not only Billy gameplays) but as far I know, he is a Billy main that often plays with this build.

Maybe that's why it's become popular? I mean, I play in SA server and am brazilian myself, and here is popular as f… It's really frustrating. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Survivors all spawn together, meaning if the totem was cleansed right from the get go the Spirit not only knows where at least one person is, but they also now have a general idea where everybody is. After the hook they spot the 2nd player but in that time they could of went by a gen or 2 and heard that none of them have been worked on, but maybe in the distance they see a crow fly off in the distance. They finish up with jimbo 3 and now that leaves you. By process of elimination they see you didnt go for any saves meaning the chances of you being around that area are low, the gens they passed by earlier havent been worked on meaning you arent there either, they dont see any scratchmarks, crows being disturbed or any gens that have popped during the entire time theyve been dealing with the rest of the team. So they go back to the only place they know you were last, which is back where everyone spawned. They dont see any scratchmarks, crows being disturbed, maybe a gen is there as well that hasnt been touched, and none of the other teammates have been saved. So they just so happen to check a locker and would you look at that, jimbo 4 just so happens to be there.

Literally no killer is thinking past line 3 in that process the way you are describing it in an actual game.

Not every game do the survivors spawn together. Your explanation would also imply that the spirit saw a crow flying off in the distance, where? Was the killer looking in that direction when it happened? Did they assume it was another survivor? Also in the process of hooking "Jimbo" 1, 2, and 3 that would be at LEAST a minute and a half. By that time, the brain has already forgotten about the crow since that information was stored in short term memory and dropped due to the importance of the next chase taking up your frontal lobe, forgotten about the exact totem location for that exact same reason, and is likely assuming they could be anywhere. No reasonable person would assume anyone would be hiding at spawn (which you would need lethal pursuer or a wide open map and assume where the survivors are starting from), nor anything after the 3rd sentence, not to mention the amount of unlikely scenarios that would have to occur for it to happen. Also, the poster said they weren't even the one to cleanse the totem, so even IF they remembered the general area of the totem breaking, why would they assume a second survivor would be hanging around?

That is my point. Your explanation is so far out of the realm of common that cheating is way higher on the list. This isn't even "subconscious" thought. You are consciously typing up a scenario that if you had perfect information and just so happened to see everything that would lead you to that conclusion, it would already be extremely unlikely for anyone to reasonably assume, not to mention you are creating explanations as you go, instead of organically experiencing them in a match. You could probably win the lottery twice before you see at least one match where that explanation you gave is the reason the poster got found.

Let's not forget that a simple google search with the right terms bring you a few advertising videos (or even websites) that sells you these kind of tools… and Dowsey (and other content creators) posted videos in different times of the year talking about how "cheats for dbd" are incredibly the most searched term even, if dbd has no actual "pro player scenario" or anything related to "worldwide official championships", etc. If I had to guess, on both ends… it would be:

Killer: Survivors have the advantage all the time. They have the numbers, they have crutches such as dead hard, ds, etc; They have comms (discord); and if they all escape, they t-bag at the gates and I feel like sh… And if they don't escape, they leave the room so I cannot bs them all I want.

Survivors: The most inexperienced ones find the killers too oppresive (and some really are), find tunneling an absurd (and apparently, bhvr thinks so too), and due to the killer's "lack of empathy'', wishes to punish the killer for supposedly being an as*h*l*. The veterans would only use those tools to know, in the lobby, who they're up against so they can avoid the 31th Kaneki of the day, as it is a pain in the a** to face the same killer over and over and over just because killer mains cannot accept the fact that survivors can escape (and might escape) and therefore needs to play with what is extremely strong to try to win all the time.

At the end of the day, it's not like getting your hands on one of these tools is an Herculean task. Just requires lack of character, boldness and not giving a damn sh** about being banned at all, since most of these tools provide all characters, skins, perks, etc; as well.

  • I know it's hard to believe, but subtle cheaters are rampant. Trust me. I'm not a good looper, so I prefer to use stealthy builds and do my work "behind the scenes". Picture the following scenario…

The map is Ormond Lake Mine. I was using:

    1. Distortion
    2. Self-preservation
    3. Kindred
    4. We'll make it
    5. Shroud of Separation

The Killer is a Chucky. Using the numpad as a reference, if Shack is 7 and main building is 2, I spawned at 1. Someone spawned a little further, at 4, and I see Nea in 3. Don't know where the 4th survivor is. No distortion token was consumed. I start running to 4, and Nea gets on a chase. She is downed near the main building generator (which was not being repaired). Chucky then grabs her and hooks her on a hook on 6. My Self-preservation activates. I run towards the back of the main building while seeing Chucky going to the front of the building (thanks to Kindred). I'm about to go to the rescue, behind the main building, when I hear giggles. Right now, there are 2 plausible explanations:

    1. He is cheating
    2. He simply tried his luck and found me

I stop. I hear the scream, and here he comes, straight to me. I try to 180º but he gets me. I point a finger at him and start running. I am wounded and self-preservation is still on. He realizes I leave no scratch marks, no blood pools, no grunts of pain, nada. He then disconnects.

I've come to the conclusion that, one out of two:

    1. He legit d/c due to technical problems
    2. He realizes I was using Self-preservation and knew winds weren't blowing in his favor

It could be 1… but most likely, it could be 2. Me using emote 1 at his face probably made him think ''oh #########, he knows''. What is the probability of, after hooking Nea, he decides to "circle the main building" hoping to find someone, if he did not have Lethal Pursuer (cause my Distortion token wasn't consumed at the start), nor did he kick a gen (and even if he did, I had Self-Preservation on)? Ok, one could assume he was going to check the gen that always spawn at 1, but if I were him, I'd look that gen had no progress and run straight to shack, cause if the chase happened too early, means he and Nea spawned ''near'' each other. The gen on 3 wasn't being repaired, the gen on 1 and on 2 were also not being repaired. It's really, really SUS. His build did have "Nowhere to Hide", but even if he could've used it, he shouldn't have been able to find me. And the d/c after?

The other day was against a Kaneki. He always knew where all of us were. I decided to put him to a test. The map was Dead Dawg Saloon, only Alan and I remained alive. Alan was hooked. My self-preservation activates. I decide to hide in a locker in the main building, the most unsuspected one, but before that, I had to make sure he "saw me" through walls. So he hooks Alan, I wait in front of the locker with self-preservation on and Kindred, and he instantly leaps toward the main building as I enter the locker. He goes straight to my locker and grabs me.

The thing with subtle cheaters is that there is always room for "what if". "What if he's just smart?" Out of dozens of lockers, he comes straight to the one I picked? What are the odds? 0,010%? Easier to win on lottery.

Trust me. They are more than we can imagine and that is due to our anti-cheat tool being BAD AS SH1T.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4073289#Comment_4073289

I'm going to step in here and hopefully offer some clarity. First of all thank you for the questions and for the patience that you have shown.

When we responded to those questions and advised that they were things in discussion, often there are things that we would love to do, but they are considered to be a lower priority or affect other things and therefore the scope widens which then leaves bandwidth issues. The current situation as it stands that these things are not on our scheduling yet, which doesn't mean that we're not working on them or have changed our minds on things, just that priorities have changed and that likely these things are lower down the list of priorities - for the last question regarding new players, those are things that are done in small patches so for example, showing team mates perks, being able to hover over team mates perks and learn what they do in custom games (which is coming next release), the UI progress bar update etc - all those things contribute to the new player experience.

Tutorials are a massive one and we've had MANY conversations on how this should be done, its not easy - if it were we would have done it already! But for many different killers, its very difficult to do a Tutorial that encompasses all those things. Its impossible to create tutorials for every killer and have them in the build from a size perspective, imagine how big the downloads will be for one thing, plus there's the scoping of everything that has to be done for it.

We do not have infinite resources, there's only so much time in a day, there's only so much that can fit in the patch and the joys of a live game are that there is always something that pushes the priority of something else and it might be related to things that are upcoming so whilst you don't see the priority on something changing, you do not have the full picture on things:

The Production process on a game is not a simple one, there's many different developers of many different departments and they each have their own needs, that have to be juggled and prioritised, its not always just about design, and what our designers would like to change, but about what has to change because of some upcoming things. We plan very far ahead, so things we're talking about now internally, we're looking at 2028 / 2029 before those things will be implemented unless its considered urgent enough that it requires re-prioritising of something, which will then drop something else down the priority list.

TLDR things are not forgotten about, but they might not have the same priorities or require more technical impacts than initially scoped for, which adjusts what we can do.

We understand and thank you for coming here to clarify things. Right now, after talking to some people around here, I think that our main concern is about cheaters. I did not know that there is this thing which has gone viral in EU and NA and turn killers into automated terminators. In SA, we're facing classic aura cheaters, superspeed cheaters, instadown-mapwide-cheaters, stuff like that. It's crazy. At least 5 out of 10 matches there is a Killer that "knows too much", even when we're using perks like Distortion, Self-preservation, Lightweight+Ghostnotes+Sprint+Self-preservation, etc.

We understand how hard it is to try and fit every need of the game in a tight schedule. It's not easy on you, specially when you're planning 2029 already, we get that, for sure.

But in our end, it's been really, really miserable, due to the ammount of cheaters. They're even able to snipe streamers and content creators just to stress those people. Is there any possibility of prioritizing anti-cheat measures asap? ;-/

I mean, we can wait, of course, but me and a lot of people can play 1, 2, 3 games per day until hit by the realization that cheaters are growing like fungus and then go play something else, but we do love dead by daylight and we wanna play dead by daylight… it's just that, at the end of the day, we feel like we're there, playing, just to make someone (that's decided we are sc__ and therefore deserve all the worst) happy, satisfied, with the feeling that a vendetta has been accomplished.

They're really busy on EU servers. I run in to them every single time I play. Not a single word from Behaviour, but they're busy laying off more employees, so I'm guessing 2030..

Oh, god… I don't know… sometimes I have a strong feeling that Behavior is definitely trying to kill Dead by Daylight at any cost… You know that BS that companies spread saying that "a game has a lifespam, usually 5 years, or a bit more". Hell yeah. Tell that to famous mobas we all know about, famous fps, a 3rd person shooter very popular among kids for ages, etc.

So many layoffs, indie companies bought… it sounds unpredictably weird, with so much stuff going on… kinda like Daniel Radcliffe is so fed up with a famous character he portrayed and do not wish to have his name "forever entwined" with that character, you know?

The irony is that, aside from Frank Stone, all other games flopped. I really have no idea what's going on and I feel dismayed, frustrated, as a client.

  • @Shroompy said:

All Im gonna say is some times you arent as sneaky as you think, and killers have different ways of finding you other than aura reading. Scratch marks are an obvious one, killer instinct and crows are another, and good game sense is something that no stealth perk can help you against.

I know. I have around 3k hours on Steam. I've read every perk, have played with every killer, I know my way around the game, trust me.

Before I start pointing fingers, I usually wait for the post-match screen, check the Killer perks, double check its addons…

I really do know when I'm up against a cheater specifically due to how they behave in game. And they're usually from Epic Games. Not every Epic player, but always an Epic player.

I can appreciate that the wait has been frustrating; I do not have an answer yet.

That is precisely the problem. The never-coming answers. And you know what infuriates us the most? When Behavior employees publicly say "we do listen to our community" shuckles. Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but it's you (Behavior) who decide when updates and stuff we've been begging for comes to the game (or not), and right now, we, as clients, as consumers of your product, feel like your focus is not where it trully matters.

The problem with cheaters is escalating… do you recall that live when Behavior told us about some things that would be coming to the game? Anti-tunnel, New Anti-cheat, etc? Where are those things? Seriously, I wish I was joking. This is the first time in my entire life I wish SO BAD I was joking, but unfortunately I am not. Unintentionally, that Yun Jin perk rework proved to be the biggest snitch of all times. I've been reporting those godamn epic games cheaters (not every epic games player, but always an epic games player) everyday, but the consensus among the community is that ''Behavior knows about them and couldn't care less, so why should I waste my time reporting them?". This is the point of mistrust that we have reached.

As a faithful community, we need to rebuild trust. We love the game, but we hate how important things and decisions take aeons to be made. We are loyal to DBD, but this relationship is quickly deteriorating. Are you guys going to save "this marriage" or let it sink?

BHVR has broken trust with the community one too many times and has made little effort to repair….well any of it. Here’s an off the wall example.

“Hey guys we hear you, genuinely! We are always listening that’s why we are listening to your feedback regarding blight”

Right. I get that..I respect that, but it’s been 6 long years that feedback has fallen on what it felt like deaf ears 👂 until recently when BHVR said oh no we heard you.

I can say with certainty that most of us truly don’t feel heard nor appreciated on these forums. A lot of this is due to the broken trust. Why can’t/wont BHVR make effort to repair that? Care about us enough to fix it? We are here because we care. We just want to feel the same way back. ❤️

I don’t feel like it’s asking for much.

Well said. I've been playing DBD since early 2019. There were only 2 times that Behavior actually listened to us:

    1. Auto-purchase on bloodweb (+levels and stuff);
    2. Nerfing Blight (and I'm not even sure if it's enough to stop him from getting 3k or 4k all the time, hence why Momo The 7th almost made to 2000 victories with Blight in a win streak… TWO THOUSAND MATCHES, GUYS).

I do not feel heard. I do not feel appreciated for walking alongside Behavior for 7 years, for spending my time typing suggestions, making ''wake up calls'', etc.

And lately, cheaters are running rampant. And what are they doing? I have no idea. 5 out of 10 matches I'm playing against cheaters. Killers that read my aura and find me in the most unsuspected places with self-preservation active on me. These days I faced a Nemesis that would have his zombies walk all the way from the shack to Thompson's house and stand right in front of the locker I was hiding in, with arms strecthed forward, like if it was about to catch me. I wasn't infected nor hurt. He was about to hook someone, but decided to ''mori'' that person. The zombie wouldn't let me leave and stood there.

If that's not cheating, I don't know what cheating is anymore.

I think that the solo queue is so miserable that people just become killers and move on. Or as with many that I have talked to and know of they just uninstall and accept that their money was wasted on the purchase. So the concept of mmr cant exist because there are not enough people on one side. But I don't have the numbers and wouldn't believe them if I did.

Behavior made a new survey yesterday and one of the questions about the game (in the "cheaters" category) asks us if we ever uninstalled the game due to the ammount of cheaters, and I once did, but I never realized that some people might actually have uninstalled the game due to it's difficulty or due to frustration for always getting bad team mates. It's actually hit me now.

And the worst part is: most of the time, your team mates sucks because they're trying to use meta builds instead of a healing/information builds, which suits best the lone wolves out there, playing on their own. I don't know if that's because they see Otz and other content creators using those builds or what… regardless, DbD is a game that is hard for whoever's starting on it… and the lack of a decent mmr system (which, let's be honest, needs a massive player base to work out, and DbD do not have that gigantic player base) only makes things worse.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

Well i think they try to please both sides at the same time, which doesn't work. The only thing that keeps a round feeling casual, is if the killer decides to keep the rulebook gloves on, or the survivors aren't a fully loaded swat/bully squad with discord. If any of those 2 things change the match turns "sweaty" which is just a casuals term for competitive as the 2 don't get along. (Not to say a match can't turn competitive at any moment)

If they add stuff for casual, the competitives abuse it, if they add stuff for competitives, the casuals suffer from it. So we are just stuck a mixed bag that can't decide what to be lol. But most of the killers lately tend to be for competitives. Whereas the last casual we got was springtrap.

Exactly. I couldn't have put it in a better way myself…

That is the reason I think DbD has no other option other than to try and attain a very good balance between those two "mindsets". It's going to be a dark, bumpy and full of "trials and errors" road, but what option do they actually have? They could nerf the killers I mentioned to a point where they all are in the same power level as Ghostface, Doctor, Bubba… so casual players could escape more often and avoid a massive frustration build up, but then competitive players will make the lives of those killers miserable.

They could probably pull this off if they focused more on map sizing and killers powers balancing at the same time… still… it's going to be hard for us, that will have to wait a few extra years before dust settles into place.

  • Now I get why people say it's pointless to try and "solve" something on forums. :-(

  • @Hex_Llama said:

I think there are probably a lot of factors that go into which characters get new skins and/or high-effort high-resource skins. I don't think it just goes in one direction — I think there's a loop where we like characters like Meg, Kate, Feng Min, Yun Jin, and then BHVR is like, "I bet they'll like Sable," and they put a bunch of effort into making good cosmetics for Sable, and we do like Sable and we buy her good cosmetics and it further reinforces the loop.

They aren't really trying that hard to convince us of what's sexy and cool about Haddie and Jeff.

I also don't think the loop is random — it's part of a larger culture where we're used to thinking that the way clothes look best is when they're draped on one particular body type, and so if no one is deliberately trying to steer out of that, that's what we all steer into.

I actually do think BHVR puts effort into making lore-accurate outfits for a lot of the characters, but it's almost like that's treated as a completely separate exercise from making something people will want to buy.

I agree with you. That's why I created this topic. To try and shed some light on this subject. I mean, ok… Jeff may not be the "strong male standard", but if I were responsible for developing a new skin for Jeff, shouldn't I try harder? So the skin ends up amazing and people would want to buy it and play as Jeff? This is how I think. I'm not exactly sure if I'm "thinking correctly", business-wise, but imo, I am. I'd totally create a cool skin for Jeff, for Jonah, etc. I'm not saying that Behavior does not try as hard as they can, but… when you look at Nancy's face… That's not Natalia Dyer at all. To me, sometimes, it feels like "awwwwwwwwww, this subject again, oh no, just change something there and let's get back to the new killer asap".

And at this point, I have to remind everyone that a famous MOBA that we all know its name (dunno if I can say its name here) made its living by creating cool skins all the time. I'm pretty sure DBD can get a lot more money if the skins are awesome. It doesn't necessarily needs to be torn clothes and the character is all dirty, but it's ok if they wanna follow this path. Just… do you remember Jonah "investigator skin"? So cool, right? When you look at his back… there it goes, a perfect suit, completely ruined by tons and tons of leather to "prevent the suit from being ripped acidentally". Seriously, in all my life, I have never seen a suit like that. Why ruin a perfectly good skin with "add this detail, now add this one, now add another one, i think a pink flower on his hat would be great, and what about if half his moustache was shaved"?

Seriously, it breaks my heart, specially when I look at dbd mobile skins. We need that kind of tryhard here. I'm not surprised to see how everyone loves community created skins, such as this haunted house for Dredge, the ghost for Dredge as well, if I recall correctly, Kate's Ballerina was also community-designed? That Artist one is great, etc. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to participate in these contests, as I do not live in NA. I know some artists that would love to participate and help change this "wardrobe problem" Dbd has.

  • I'm completely "in love" with this set:

    image.png
  • No. I'm actually implying that Kate's outfit is way better than Elodie's one. It may be "simple", but it's waaay better than that horrendous cat one. (And Kate has a lot of good, simple outfits that are cool, I mentioned some above.)

Same goes for Vittorio's. Way better than King's. Has logic, has theme. What was David's supposed to be? A BDSM community hipster that's now writing some poems about gangsters and how their lives are as fleeting as butterflies lives while smoking his marlboro and trying to avoid ADHD at any cost, while his mind is racing about politics??? I can't find a theme. Some people said to me: "Oh, it's the same as the roadpunk skin, etc."

Oh, great. So we are going to have another Gabriel Soma case on our hands? People begged (for months) for something that's not "space related" to Soma. Look at Soma's outfits in the store. They all give the same vibe, they all feel the same in a way or another. David's going the same way. Road punk skin, revolt skin, etc. When they release something like ''David's on a date'' skin, is a breather.

In the end, DbD has so much potential for skins. I feel like Dbd Mobile was going this way… was surfing on this potential. Check this topic out:

Am i the only one who thinks that the mobile version of DBD has A LOT of skins that actually have unique-cool designs compared to the base game? why can't we also get them in the PC version? I know that we're getting 2 survivor & 2 killer skins in the future, but i wish we had more than that and earlier, or at the same time as the mobile version gets it to make it fair. like holy moly, after seeing all those skins i was just shocked at how good they are. not all of them but like more than a half of them, here's the best examples that just prove it:

(These also took a while to find them, so i'd be happy to hear your opinions on the skins' designs/your favorites and the whole idea of them getting added to the base game)

Christ...this spirit design is the best one out of all character skins. THIS is the one i'd like to see the most in the real DBD version, and i'm saying all this as someone who hates playing as or against her. It's just too good. The details and colors are super cool, everything fits perfectly. BHVR please add this someday!

As an ex-trickster main i'd also really love to see this in the game. Of course, he already has a lot of good skins but this one would look the best out of all. I really like the halloween/scarecrow makeup & outfit. Also looks scary.

These are the ones that i've just found & are also the latest ones that they've got...the things i'd do for that mikaela skin. all of these summer-themed outfits are so cool compared to the ones we have. i'm not saying that we have "trash" ones, i like them too actually but the mobile ones are definitely winning, in my opinion. yes, they're too "bright" making it easier to get noticed by the killer but that doesn't change the fact they all look very good and would be a good idea to get added into the game. I bet everyone would buy these, making it better for the creators themselves.

Your examples don't really correlate when its all about taste. I would rather use the Vittorio cosmetic than the David one but as I said its about taste and preference. The straps on David chest look really horrible for example. Same goes with the other set I would never wear the first one and might wear the second one but it still is not better than the current one I am using on Kate. They make what they want and they make skins for the more popular ones because those have higher chance of selling. Behavior is a business so they need to make money or why else do you think Feng has the a lot more of cosmetics compared to some others.

Also your extra post are about the same as you talking to yourself. Why are you getting triggered of someone down voting this is the same level as you feeding into people who intentionally rile you up in the game chat.

It's funny how taste cannot be questioned in a world where that questioning is exactly what differentiates drugstore makeup brands from MAC, or department stores t-shirts from Tommy Hilfiger's ones, Balenciaga's ones, etc.
Of course personal opinion matters, but it's kinda of a consensus that Armani makes awesome suits, Nike makes great sports sneakers, etc.

And is precisely why Behavior should start paying more attention to their skins. Skins = Money. Or, at least, more money, cause in Behavior's case, DLCs = more money.

One could say that those skins are, more often than not, "kinda bad" because it needs to fit the "horror genre" thematics, but I'd love to know what are DbD's top 10 skins revenue. Something tells me there won't be a single "bad" skin in that top 10. Also, if that was the case, then why making a Ballerina skin for Kate? A LED Christmas Tree skin for Feng? Or even a Santa's Dwarf Helper for Dwight? I think we're past this point of "fantasy or some bling bling does not fit DBD at all". Heck, we got Trickster, for God's sake.

Also, I'm getting salty because everytime we try to discuss something in this forum, people start downvoting and refusing to elaborate. It is indeed infuriating. A forum is a place to discuss ideas, not to simply shun them and walk away slamming the door in the process. This kind of behavior sounds even more childish than being "salty for apparently no reason".

  • To my grave I'll keep wondering why everytime I bring this kind of subject I get downvoted a lot and my topic falls into oblivion, whilst when someone else does, it even gets the community manager attention.

Guess that's a question for the philosophers.

I wish I could say that making all this ruckus will get us somewhere (aside from potentially getting banned), but unfortunately It's not how I feel. They have a team of "consultant-players" right now. Best we can do is cross fingers that the consultants will actually put DbD on tracks again.

The way I see it now, some Killers are way too mobile while others struggle a lot and usually end up with max 2 kills (if lucky), if its not against a winstreak-swf. That's the reason why most main Blights are actually fuming with these changes. Blight, Nurse, Spirit, Oni, Billy, Kaneki, are the only ones capable of even trying against a winstreak-swf. The most fun ones, such as Knight, Chucky, etc; struggle so much that, after a while, you start feeling like sh1t.

  • Don't know why the boys images got so big though. It's pointless trying to debate with people that see an attack/an enemy in every single thread/post.

It can happen if they were following your sounds when you got to the locker. Its not that common but seen it happen. It would have eventually moved on.

That's the thing. She wasn't. (A female zombie, btw.)

She simply came walking, from inside Thompson's House, and stood frozen in front of my locker, with arms "stretched". Kept walking in the same place, but not leaving my locker.

  • Fun. What's not fun is having to wait 26 minutes to play as Killer just to receive the "sorry, something went wrong with your match" message and then have to wait another 26 minutes to go through the same. Isn't it about time you fixed this mode? This is, what? The 8th time this mode is around? Plenty of time to deal with bugs I say.

  • Wow… I did not expect this at all… I mean… it's clearly a bug… and not a single dev shows up to at least acknowledge the bug… Wow… really… Disappointed to say the least.

  • No comments on the issue, Devs? Really?

  • Seriously, this needs to be fixed ASAP.

Either killswitch the Killer and fix hitboxes, or simply remove the ability to vault over a pallet and recover THAT FAST. It's insane. As I said… Wesker's kinda justified, he needs to be played perfectly to be very oppressive, but Kaneki does not. Kaneki's way easier to play and more mistakes-forgiving than Wesker.

  • Sorry, my bad, I don't get it. Are we talking about being able to hit a survivor after pallet-jumping with Kagune Leap? Cause if this is what we're talking about, I'm sorry to inform it hasn't been fixed. In this thread I posted a video that was recorded a couple hours ago, on Luscau's live.

Here's the link to my thread: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4050412#Comment_4050412

  • @Abbzy said:

Definitely bug because ghouls hitbox after he vaults is super small xou would need to touch him so he could hit you (its even smaller than weskers).

I see. So, in addition to having great mobility, excellent map control, and a guaranteed hit after his first dash (which leaves the survivor in a deep wound effect, slowing down the match), he also needs a hit after jumping over a pallet? Does that seem healthy for the game? It's one thing when we're talking about Wesker, 'cause Wesker's pretty balanced in my opinion, due to his "recovery time" after a failed second dash (or holding the second dash for too long)… but what price does Kaneki pays? Are we still in the same page? Are we still aiming for a healthier competitive and entertaining game? I can't help but ask myself that.

yea i don't think people realize how strong this killer is. i have a feeling people are going to get real tired of getting AOE spam downed through walls while hearing "BWONG BWONG BWONG" on repeat after a week or two. i've tried all kinds of builds and nothing works. just 4k after 4k, usually at 3-4 gens.

And as I predicted, people are starting to downvote your comment. See what I mean?

Btw, yeah… when there are usually 3 gens up, the match is basically over against him.

  • I keep reading the comments and… omg.

The ammount of people downvoting precise, TRUTHFUL comments, is frightening. It's really scary how some people firmly believes he still needs BUFFS, or that his AoE tentacles does not have a huge radius... Seriously, I wish you all CLARITY. Might be the second time in my life I go to bed so disappointed, but so disappointed, that I feel anesthetized. Such an awful feeling.

  • I don't even know what to say. I'm completely baffled. His worldbreaker mode stays on FOREVER, even if you interact with the clocks… In this mode, he can hit everyone, no matter if that person was previously "infected" or not. He has map pressure, he has a spammable aoe ability, that ability can be cast through walls, pallets, in the middle of a window, on edges, on different floors, etc.

How is that even fair? Chases do not last more than 10s with a minimum-skilled player. Seriously, been playing against him for hours now, it's completely overwhelming in so many aspects… In a few days, when killers realize how strong he is, survivors will probably give up once the match starts and they realize they're up against One, just when Kaneki was released. When Kaneki was released, he was UNBEARABLE to say the least. Seriously… was this really necessary? Why is it that every new Killer needs to be super fast, super strong, have amazing map pressure… again, if the problem is the size of some maps, why not chop a few parts of the gigantic ones? You guys need to attain balance ASAP. I dropped the game one week after Kaneki was released. Basically 9 out of 10 matches were against Kaneki, and it was unbearable. Why should I kept playing? To massage some kid's ego? I wasn't having any fun cause I knew the chances of escaping were around 2, 3%. The same is happening again.

  • @UnicornMedal said:

Personally? I don't think people should be punished for AFKing or going next. It's about as punishable as Killers that want to farm or any player that wants to meme. It's just part of the game. This system is too one-sided and it's micromanaging gameplay to the point that it's actually not even worth playing at all.

I'd rather see something like the scaling difficulty from 2v8 be worked on as a basekit comeback for both sides. Things that move the trial forward as opposed to adding more stress to players.

For me, it's kinda like Behavior is trying to make DbD as competitive as possible (LoL competitive level). Take away the strategic part of the game, the whole "hide and seek that becomes a tag" vibe. I like this vibe. We're facing a killer after all. It shouldn't be removed.

For main killers, they probably find the whole idea of "locating survivors" boring as f… but it's part of the whole "killer-survivor/victim fantasia".

The way things are now, I'm pretty stressed to the point of quitting a match because my team mates are hiding in the corners of the map while I'm on the hook. Someone said that, now, you have to play 20 matches to "remove 1 penalty point". Let's say your internet connection went down for a few minutes and you d/ced… 20 matches. Then you get really stressed and quit a match. +20 matches. Dude… most matches last for 15 minutes or so. Now I have to spend 10 hours playing the game (not counting the loading screens, lobbies, etc) without quitting to "remove my penalty". If, by any chance, my internet connection faulters again… probably a whole week playing or face a 30-day ban. Obviously the 24-hours-rule was better.

What is going on? It's as if as soon as the clock hit midnight, all hell broke loose.

  • @Alen_Starkly said:

The problem is the same as always, and will not be solved by bots. Once again, BHVR added more stuff on the killer side (Oni and Ghost Face), but survivors basically got nothing… (yes, there are smoke bombs, but getting them depends on RNG, and they don't even add much to the gameplay, imo)

They should start focusing WAY more on improving the survivor side, adding more stuff to it, making the survivor role FUN and enticing, and slow down with the content on the killer side. I think the last 2 iterations have both added 2 new killers, but survivors got nothing exciting…. Green/Yellow herbs weren't anything fun, plus killers could use them too.

Survivors needs much more new content in 2v8, and the addition of killers should be slowed down. That and, Legion should probably be removed, it kills a lot of the fun when playing as survivor in 2v8.

Honestly, I think you're right, to a certain extent. However, what more could they add? Weapons to "hurt killers"? Survivors essentially got all they need. Repair buffs, speed buffs, healing buffs, etc. The problem I see is… most survivors prefer to make gens from the borders of the maps, leaving trigens, tetragens on the center. This makes it easier for the killers to win the match. Also… Idk if it's just me, but killers seems to be faster in this mode, so, basically… there is no looping anything here. It's straight "press and hold w".

Anyway… imo, creativity has a limit. What they should do is balance map sizes. For this mode, they need to be bigger. Some are. Some aren't. Tormented Creek is the same as ever. RPD is the old RPD, before it got splitted in 2 maps. Anyway…

Look at this, everyone. The perfect example of how broken this killer is. How is this even allowed? Low cd, garanteed hits, huge mobility…

  • I agree 100%. Kaneki is simply UNBEARABLE, to say the least.

His first hit can get you even if you're hiding behind barrells, crates or other stuff. There's a YouTuber that released a video recently on ''how to counter Kaneki'', and he got hit through a pallet, a lamp and a bench, on Unknown's map. Kaneki wasn't even looking at his direction. His face was priceless.

And if you manage to escape, no problem! He'll simply leap towards you, cancel his power and free hit you in no time. I've been trying different builds ever since he hit live servers. Nothing helps against this killer. I don't know how this killer passed PTB without any substantial changes. He is clearly toxic to the game. He's practically an authorized cheat.

Honestly, Bhvr… what were you guys thinking? Out of 100 matches played in a week, 88 were against Kaneki. Main killers have always seen the game as… "if there's 4 survivors, I must kill them all". Ok, nothing wrong with trying your best… but a survivor that never escapes is not a survivor, is a victim. This kind of killer emphasizes the wrong pov of obsessed main-killers.

And yet, you guys need more time? What's more to analyze? He's over 63,5% win rate according to NightLight, and he usually kills the 4 survivors almost near 45% os his matches. It's insane.

This is the first time ever I'm actually considering quitting DbD for good. I always take some time off, play other games, but eventually I come back and get hyped with the game again and again. But right now? It's desmaying…

  • Hey... Aren't we supposed to get a Jake skin "for free" (on DbD) once we've purchased the game (Hooked on You)? Did any of you receive the skin? A code, anything skin-related on DbD?

The NetEase skins always look super nice when I see them -- I think their system also has colour variations, so you can get a few different versions of the same look. I'd love to have something like that in DBD, but I think it's a different design team.

Yeah, I saw that too. Every skin has at least 3 recolors. I really want those skins... they're really awesome. But it's highly improbable that the devs will see this thread and bring those skins. They never see anything and only discuss ideas with fog whisperers.

I know. I was showcasing some of the skins in the main game that i think are very impressive since OP decided to cherry pick out of hundreds some of the most unpopular skins in the game.

There is definitely no comparison between how many awesome outfits we have vs how much junk there is. Trust me. Just open your DBD and get in the store. Check skin per skin, character per character. Imo, David's best outfit is his Lifeguard version. Some other outfits are ok. Not ugly, nor beautiful. Claudette... I'd rather not even start. Dwight has that cool Xmas Elf, but all the other skins are either basic clothing you'd get at any outlet store or ''gas station attendant''. Jeff, Yui, Jake... not even worth commenting. Jane has 2 or 3, Kate has some cute outfits, but if you put on paper... we have a lot of skins that are either way too basic or simply doesn't go with other pieces.

I know they try to be faithful to characters clothing on movies/series etc; but dude... when they didn't go faithful, we got Frozen Ghostface skin, which is cool as f. I know there is license issues... but you have tons of original survivors/killers. Experiment on those. If you're too afraid of experimenting and wasting time, ask the community. Create pools.

I think there's been two (three maybe?) recorded cases of DBD Mobile outfits being put onto the Rift in the future. We might see them yet.

Are you sure? Cause these skins are Netease's Version, not the actual mobile version we have, that's under Behavior's management.

Man... seriously, I feel like dropping out of the game. I feel so disrespected. I know it's just skins and maybe I'm overreacting.. but look at those. They're so pretty and awesome. All we get is recolors or that ugly David King flowery-shirt and wrecked jeans. They need to get ballsy. If they're so unsure about what to release, why not ask the community? And the fog whisperers, they never help the community. They're basically there to interview Coté every once in a while and earn tons of money by making streams. Technically, they're useless. I feel so disrespected. I know they're trying their best by bringing up new killers and survivors every 3 months, but maaan... their skins-team is really disconnected to what the community likes. Nea's supercolorful outfit is one of the outfits I see the most. Different hair colors I see a lot as well. If that's not indicative enough, I don't know what else could be.

Those mobile skins are for the Chinese version of DBD mobile. We will likely never see them in the main game. Why? Who knows. Maybe Netease makes easy money for Bhvr so they give them exclusivity

More money than we provide? I doubt it. All my friend buy the battle passes, the bunny feng costume, the beach series, etc. However... they're not as good as these skins. There is no comparison between that sexy David and this drunken Valentine's fool. Look at his hair, look at his jacket. Look at that Clown skin. AWESOME. We get Pajamas Feng or Battle-in-Space-Feng. They get Gamer Feng. We get Ace in silky robes. They get Magician Ace. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN... This is so UNFAIR.

  • I'm really mad. That David skin is awesome... Ace, poor Ace... he never gets a decent skin, and now I see this Magician skin in the Mobile. Man... seriously... what the f do we have to do to be heard?
