It's still absolutely ridiculous that I've invested several millions of bp already and still can't get the damn perk I want. There needs to be an anti-bad luck insurance, at least give killers the choice to get the perk they want after a certain amount of investment.

Invest more, all my babies are max ;)

Yes it is annoying. If I’ve noticed anything with bhvr though, be careful what you wish for

You'd say that, but a Feng Min could t bag me all game and I'll still give them the hatch.

Huh? I’m confused. How does me saying characters you see on the screen aren’t inherently toxic have anything to do with you giving hatch to someone who tbags? Where did I say anything about that? Where did I say I don’t do that myself?

It rewards strong killers and lazy killers.

It punishes survivors against strong killers and it punishes lazy survivors vs lazy killers.

    That's why.

From my POV as survivor, I don’t care too much. Hearing “JuSt Do ToTeMs” is more annoying than someone running noed tbh.

from my POV as killer, I just don’t get it. Watching someone play killer poorly, only to try to one hit down people at the end is agonizing. Play to win, don’t play to lose.

People play this game too seriously, and that ######### more than anything needs to change. I don’t know if it’s because streamers popularized being toxic, this strange underlying mindset of getting off on other people’s misery, but Jesus Christ already.

  • No...because it has nothing to do with the character on screen you see, but the person playing them.

  • @LegionOfDumb said:

It doesn't need to be Legendary... because it isn't a Legendary set, it's a "Very Rare" linked set. Legendary sets are 15 dollars while this set is 10 dollars... which is the same price as every other Very Rare set that isn't linked. At least get your facts straight before you stage a protest.

    Your name, your post. LEGENDARY

  • I play killer to give a good overall experience to the 4 survivors I’m playing with, while also providing a stage to test your looping/stealth play/my mind games and counter play. 90% plus games I two hook and release. Because I’ve de-pipped x 2 these past two seasons (Rank 3-4 to 5, then I get pushed back again, from 5 to 10), I’ll kill a couple red rank players here and there.

i don’t care to have a “1” next to my name (I could still I guess, used to from 10 to 1 in a few hours). I don’t care to slug, tunnel, face camp, proxy camp, force struggle. If I do slug, it’s to leave when I know someone is nearby so they get some altruism points. I don’t care for most add ons as killer either. I don’t care to bully people who just got caught in a ######### area of the map because their teammate burned every pallet known to man. I don’t run noed, I don’t use moris.

Most players just want a chill game. Relax with a couple friends, get a couple chases in, bounce, get points, move on. For what reason do I need to kill someone in game? What’s there to prove 4 years in?

Thats how I play killer. Why? For the reasons above, blood points, why not

  • @EpicBigBrain said:

Seriously, I have bearly played any killer this season but somehow I still manage to be rank 3. Sometimes I occasionally play killer just to get a break from survivor but I why do I have to go against the same people killer mains do. If I had to say personally what rank killer I was, i would say around 6/7, but i cant get over the fact 3 or 4 good games can get you to rank up. I think the should bring back old rank reset. It also annoys me that if you're rank 4 you just go back to rank 5 at reset.

It’s more so to keep people from dropping into green or lower ranks to bully new players. Sadly, many players in our community play like this.

  • This is BHVR guys. Pre-nurse nerf, i said nurse, spirit and billy would be getting nerfed. No joke, I said nurse would get blink charges, spirit would lose collision, Billy’s saw would get nerfed somehow. Their decision making is fairly predictable.

It’s a “casual” game as long as you use that reasoning to justify your snowflake mentality. I bet the “casual” justification would quickly disappear from your vocabulary if let’s say the precious second chance perks were removed right? If the killer tunnels you right out of the game is it still casual or would you make posts about it here? I get ahead of myself though, of course you would simply take the loss and move on to the next game. Like you said: “is a casual game”. Wait a second, that reasoning doesn’t mesh with you wanting to simply leave games because you don’t like a certain aspect. Seems you don’t really believe what you say, just want a copy pasta excuse to justify your entitlement. Just a thought LMFAO

You sound quite entitled, and angry, over someone’s calm and collected comment. Weird.

Boo-freggin-hoo. You don't get to log into the game and decide what Killer can be played, or perks can be used.

Be a freaking adult and accept that sometimes you'll go against Killers/Perks/Items you don't like, man the hell up, and play it through.

This has been a message to EVERYONE who DCs with excuses like 'Hurr-derr! I don't play against Freddy! Now excuse me, I need a diaper change from mommy.'

You ask him to be an adult, yet you’re ranting and raving like a child. Food for thought perhaps

Deathslinger's chase is about as annoying as survivor using BT, and DS to protect the unhooker instead of the unhooked. They are both tedious mechanics, that most likely will not see any changes anytime soon.

I’m utterly tired of hearing “BT/DS/Adrenaline wahhhh” that has to come from 6-12 mo of playtime killers. I can’t fathom someone with experience griping about those perks still. And if you think I’m a survivor main, you’re 100% incorrect

Personally I like the inclusion of linked sets, they can get more creative with outfits now and not have to worry about clipping issues. And maybe we can actually get some dresses that aren’t separated at the waist.

Linked sets are a new feature so we’re probably going to be seeing a lot more of them but they’re still going to continue creating separable cosmetics of course.

It’s not a “new feature.” It’s a “how can we make more money”

that’s it. The EGC was a new feature. The rift was a new feature. This is just...expected at this point.

I don't get how he wants to make those claims for clicks. It's his opinion, and he never really puts anything clickbait in his titles.Huntress is pretty overrated in my opinion (not counting iri head). She has no map pressure, her hatchets are extremely inconsistent and killers like plague and pyramid head outclass her now in my opinion. Billy is very good, but I think Oni is better than him most of the time, as his chainsaw is easily avoided. Killers like ghostface can end the chase faster than Billy with mindgames in my opinion.

Well opinions are opinions :). Doesn’t mean they’re correct.

and come on, you’re drinking the koolaid if you don’t think Tru and Clickbait aren’t synonymous, go to YouTube and enjoy.

I know fungoose. It's not that specific build true is talking about, it's leatherface's playstyle.

The play style you cited is how fungoose has been playing LF for at least 2 years

edit: PWYF allows that playstyle, fyi. It’s because you have speed stacks you can make it around a loop and hit the survivor, where as they’ve usually timed it to be able to outrun base speed LF. That’s the “secret” to the build (well, one of them). Pays to understand what’s going on and why vs just copying :)

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

@Devil_hit11 my comment is unrealistic? XD me saying that a Bubba using PWYF+Nemesis combined with Ruin+Surveilance doesn't prove Bubbas underrated strength, instead proves how weak he is to depend on braindead builds to be an actual threat is the most true thing you'll hear said. Bubba is insanely weak! Name a tech that bubba has with his POWER. Now tell me that i'm wrong in saying using 2 gen perks that when combined, always tell you where to be and where to pressure, combined with 2 perks that make chases ultra easy, isn't a braindead build. You eat a pallet, you get a token, they get greedy, they go down. You scare them off a gen/they get off voluntarily, you now see that gen white all the time until touched (yellow then red) indicating to you to pressure it. Those 4 combined make that match insanely easy mode for killer. It does not prove Bubbas strength, it proves his lack of strength outside of the build. A strong killer can play equally as dominating without perks and add-ons, consistantly. Bubba cannot do that feat. To say he is a weaker Billy is laughable lol Bubba has zero going for him other than being up a survivors butt in the open (or just a step away from the vault/pallet) there is nothing great about his power. Hence why this experiment is a joke, and Tru3, once again, is saying something controversial, but entirely centred around bs. Leatherface is not underrated, he isn't strong - this build on him is just his new found meta because it actually make him a scary killer, still outplayable, but by far a scary killer than him at basekit. I don't think you can even say anything back to that really, unless you wanna talk bs too.

two Fungoose’s build (nemesis + pwyf). He’s talked up pwyf on LF for about 2 years now (he doesn’t use add ons on any killer)

i can’t think of a killer that’s good to 4k without perks. Bubba’s ability is the instadown. PWYF plays well with his ability. You have to build killers to their strengths, right? Like, putting pwyf on billy would be a waste, as it would be on the hag. Discordance and thrill go marvelously well on Freddy and his ability. Pointing out that people undervalue LF is fair. Just because most people play LF poorly doesn’t make him awful. Just like how someone can play an amazing Plague, but, doesn’t mean she’s top tier. I’m not a huge fan of Tru3 (he truly looks like he hates the game at this point and is playing to maintain his livelihood, which is fine; but mainly because he changes his mindset too often and it’s really contradictory (e.g., “I never slug” to “you just identified yourself as a survivor main if you’re tiny brain can’t comprehend why I’m slugging”)

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

Truetalent is (in my opinion) the best player in dbd along with otzdarva. True streams dbd for 8 hours a day,and plays every killer to a very high level (besides the hag). Some months ago he did 2 experiments. 1: He did a full day of playing ghostface and claimed he was the third best killer in the game after spirit and nurse. 2: He did a full day of wraith and claimed he was the fourth best killer. When true did these experiments, a lot of people did a complete 180 on these killers and their mind was changed by him. True says that he is going to do a full day of leatherface soon because he thinks he is underrated. True's playstyle with leatherface is to brute force every pallet with pwyf and nemesis and not go for any basic attacks. Whenever he reaches a pallet, he doesn't respect it and revs up the chainsaw and the survivor goes down, because they wouldn't expect it. However if the survivor drops the pallet on him, he gets a pwyf stack, which will benefit him a lot. I am very curious for what he is going to say, when he does a full day of leatherface. You can find a video of his playstyle here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM_LfcW3YL8

PWYF and Nemesis is from Fungoose bud. Go watch his YouTube vods on leatherface builds. Goose has been saying that on LF for PWYF for at least 2 years now fyi

  • You’re upset because they called you s-ter? We also don’t know if you are any of those comments.

Playing survivor at rank 1, about a 1/3 of my games on PC end with the killer calling me names because they decided to chase me for 2 minutes, calling me names because they played well and got me early, telling me to go die, wishing my family were killed in an accident, telling me I should masturbate to their instagram photos (proclaiming how hot of a man they are and how lucky I’d be to see them), I’ve been called every name in the book, and more

now, I only play on PC for the PTB and stick to my PS4 instead. Significantly less postgame BS

edit: I think people need to understand not everybody plays this game to establish dominance on others. Most people play to have fun, and most swfs play to have fun as well (brief aside, people need to stop calling every group a swf if they’re good...a lot of times it’s just good solo queue players). I would love to see an unranked game mode where nobody dies and you only get 50% bp. I care more for a good chase then proxy camping, cage camping, slugging, etc just to momentarily inflate my ego with “yes, 4k”

  • @CashelP14 said:

You do realise it's extremely easy to get all the crowns right? I got all of mine on the first day for survivor. Played from 4-10 and escaped nearly every game.

Playing rank 10-4 you should be able to do that lol. Playing at rank 1 for every game when some survivors only have ######### perks, is another story 😀

  • @CashelP14 said:

I didn't expect it but I love Blood Pact. Also WGLF is a very close second.

For killer it would have to be STBFL. Never used it until a few months ago on Demogorgan and now I love it. Can't wait to see is it any good on pyramid head once I get him P3.

It’s fine on PH, but not for “hit, use ability” unless you’re playing vs someone relatively new and they just sit there. Where as with Demo, even though not great on him, you can hit and then use your ability for the down with a higher chance of success. (P3 PH looks fantastic btw)

  • @LadyRahl said:

You can't always. Sometimes you can tell if they're all in the lobby dressed the same, or they all load in at the same time and sometimes you can just tell by the level of game play and coordination. Of course I've been accused of being in a 4 man SWF when everyone is solo so like I said, you can't always tell. It's like knowing when a killer is running discordance. Sometimes you can just tell.

Lol “dressing the same” doesn’t equal a 4 man swf. A lot of times I’m sitting in lobby, see someone is playing the survivor, copy them, then it snowballs, loading in at the same time also doesn’t equal swf. I only play solo queue. I’ve had many games, where everyone is solo, but we must cosmically be linked because we all have a sense of where each other are, which gens were being worked on and rotating when needed, etc.

A lot of what’s called a “swf” is invented by streamers, to cover up their lackluster gameplay, and its slowly trickled down the community.

    just my 2 cents

  • @bingbongboi90 said:

Hmm i wonder why a lot of players rely on a gen slowdown perk...

Maybe it is because gens are done without Them way too fast?

    No it cant be that...

i don’t find gens to be that fast. I find gens to be “fast” when people overly commit to chases. Sometimes, gasp, a team is better than you also. It’s a game, have fun. If people cared less about “getting a 4k like my favorite streamer does” or “tbagging the killer to hell because they’re not a real human being” the game could be so much more fun, for everyone

  • Absolutely not. There would be zero point to tier up.

Ever had Haddonfield offerings multiple times in a row? because I do often. it's interesting to think about actually. Notice that the survivors can't know what killer they'll go up against, yet they know that this certain map is likely to give an advantage to them anyway. meanwhile, each particular killer will likely only get an advantage on one or two maps. So that really does show that Haddonfield and Ormond are broken, when even the survivors admit that nearly ALL the killers are screwed by it.

    killers playing The Game offering

stealth killers playing stranger things map

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

Or ya know, just expand the tutorial section to include all killers, all survivor items and all map tiles. To get practice at using items, looping and using all killer powers vs the AI level that currently exist. Being put into the Dying State or downing a survivor would cause an arena reset of sorts for you to try again at the tile loops and chases. That would make more sense than an 'offline' mode in my eyes.

That’s the definition of an offline mode...

  • 😂 these two have to be trolling. First off, being rank 1 or hitting rank 1 with X killer means nothing. (2) Legion being the worst killer isn’t up for debate. (3) Knowing how to play a killer optimally, doesn’t make them a “strong killer” (4) Ever since the ruin nerf, spawns have gone to #########. Put bond on and watch how many survivors spawn together, on average, with no offerings. If the game forces everyone together, it makes the killers job easier - where getting early pressure is easier, but requires much less skill

  • In a dozen games or so vs. PH, about 1/3 camp cages. If when PH isn’t face camping a cage, you’re still exhausted coming out of one, no BT effect, no DS. Cages themselves removes body blocking, breaking hooks, etc. It circumvents normal gameplay beyond other killers. People don’t need to be vessels for other people’s bs

  • @Archosaurus said:

Personally I preferred the developers leaving it open for players to determine for themselves what the characters' orientations are to make it easier to identify with their favorite characters, but I understand getting into more detail about their personalities is necessary for the Tome lore.

Sexuality is not personality though. Sexuality may be a part of one’s identity, but that’s something different entirely. Does anybody really read “the lore” or listen to the archives anymore? Imagine whatever you want. Just because somebody who’s paid to write for a video game doesn’t make their reality any more real than yours.

  • I own this game (no joke) on PC, PS4, XB, Switch.

    Comments:

PC: superior framerate. In my last 300 hours I can recall ONE time where I experienced a 5-10 frame drop that lasted a split second. Dedicated servers are an issue, but not as bad as initially.

PS4 and PS4 Pro: I don’t know why bhvr is pretending like they don’t know their own game. To sit here and tell us all they don’t know what causes bug x, frame drop y, is asinine. It’s your game, you are literally staring at the game code. We ha e all been saying the same damn thing for years. Frame drops occur (a) seemingly randomly and times (ex., in chase, swing, stutters, now you’re hugging a wall and the survivor has gained a good 3 seconds on you) (b) any status proc (bloodlust, exposed, exhaustion, etc).

Xbox: My least used console. However, much of the same issues, peer to peer felt much worse than others imo

Switch: confused how you are not all embarrassed by the product you’ve put out. Frames are laughably low. Graphics are....lacking (as nice as can be said). Controls are not smooth (not the controller, have used DualShock and Nintendo’s Pro controller, no difference). Constantly feels like you’re running in mud (take that feeling running on autohaven when you would sink into ground). And...there are still frame drops as noted above...are negative frames a thing?

But hey....at least we can continue to reiterate 2+ years of complaints while someone on the team pretends like this is all new to them and they need “more details.” Disingenuous at best

  • Same. A little bummed that I've bought cosmetics, but I'd just move on to several other games. I would miss the asymmetrical aspect of it all the most. But I agree, it's not really fun anymore. This ruin change is like putting the game on ultra ez mode. There's no early game pressure that a non-billy/spirit has anymore, can just pound through gens and escape. In the past, I would have mentioned nurse, but seeing a (good) nurse is urban legend these days.

Also in the same boat about Tome 2. I really don't like how it's changed the game within the game. Especially queue'ing in solo, everyone just pops in to do their specific challenge and peaces out. Also not a fan of feeling like I "have" to play DBD, especially when I had several nights in Tome 1 where I'd get a whopping 8 games in 3 hours.

Doesn't matter much though anymore. This game belongs to new players now

  • New ruin has made the game unfun. My team gets out in 5 mins max. Maybe get to encounter the killer once before all gens are done. It's super boring to play against. I feel awful for the killers I've faced. I usually play both sides, but this is just f'ed. Probably gonna be handing out some more free mercy kills.

  • How about...throw Mori's and Keys in the trash. Unbalances the game, not fun for either side. Then, remove secret offerings.

    /end of thread :)

It would give Lullaby a chance to be effective early game even if they decreased 5 hooks total to like 3. Make it slightly more viable compared to Ruin.

veering off topic from the OP?

Thrill should be a hex perk. You want to know when someone is touching a totem, should come with a cost. This unbalances the game at ranks 10-20. Experienced survivors don't really care about working through ruin. So, basically you want thrill (non-hex) paired with devour, to totem hump? Silly idea

  • I agree 110%. We have 20 survivors and 18 killers now. Adding more perks in the bloodweb was nice (at lvl 40+ you can basically get 2 perks per web, just 1 perk before) but still.

And to the comment above, not many people play this game like it's Pokemon Go (trying to "collect" perks on survivors/killers, then once done, oh man, there's nothing left to do). People play this game to, play the game. However, having to grind and grind and grind the more and more characters come out, so that you can build your desired load out, has the effect of making people (ESPECIALLY new players) not want to bother playing.

  • I’m confused by this thread. Suggestion is white ward makes it so you DO NOT drop your item, if hit by a killer using Franklin’s Demise, which, causes you to drop your item.

Somehow, that is construed by some very high IQ people to mean “you want white ward to protect items when you drop your item after you’re sacrificed, unfair!!!”

What’s truly scarier is this is just a video game thread. Imagine how poor reading comprehension comes into play with politics, or, being easily manipulated by the news.

  • Are you wearing headphones (stereo or surround). If you’re just relying on your TV, then yes, you’ll get no direction from it

  • Are you joking? Do you play killer? Do you know who survivor sided this game is already and you want STRONGER perks @SkeletalElite come on now

We can instaheal in lockers and pick up pallets now. Force to killer to break a pallet, can’t bloodlust you. It’s already kinda crazy. I don’t see killers with a perk to instabreak a pallet before it’s dropped

  • Does surge continue regression past 8% or not? If it doesn't, that's the biggest change. Not the timing, that's not what limits surge. If it does, no changes are needed. In that case, Surge with Thrill would be amazing. Gen explodes, hands off the gen, grab survivor, sealed, and you'll get the equivalent of pop without having to walk over there and can rotate elsewhere. If it doesn't seal, then you know where you're going right off the bat .

His other perks are niche perks, who's running those anyway?

  • @Boosted_Dwight said:

  • Rancor's value doesn't lie in being able to mori the obsession. Rancor's value lies in being able to see their auras. Too many killers use Rancor for the mori piece, and miss where it's value actually lies. So change the half or not, just don't touch the first half

  • probably to reduce the chances of people completing the "rift" and/or increase interest/build anticipation (c) no reason at all, they're doing a pretty good job at all times

  • I am so f$#$ tired of this nonsense. Spirit doesn't need a nerf. If you want to change something, change her add ons. Even with nurse, all she needed was her add ons reworked. To learn counterplay, you have to actually play both sides. Because Nurse and Spirit don't follow traditional mechanics, everyone cries, whines until the devs bend. It's asinine. Nurse needed her add ons changed, I agree. All of Spirit's add ons are great, and those could be changed, sure. But in NO UNIVERSE does she need her base power altered (I really hope they put Nurse back to her prior base power as well).

People think about Nurse and Spirit in this binary fashion. "But, I run around a small circle and drop pallet. I can't do that, therefore OP!!!!!"

Perhaps if people played Spirit (the ones who gripe about her) and understand (a) she moves at 110% (b) how long it takes to charge her phase (c) how fast she moves in phase (176%), (d) what max base phase distance looks/feels/sounds like (e) how long it takes to recharge (f) how add ons alter each of these (g) etc

This game needs to be balanced around SWFs, and I'm not even talking comms. The fact that you can pre-load into this game with a pre-made 2/3/4 person team is I guess their definition of "asymmetrical." If you balance around that, then take every add on away from every killer. Why doesn't each dev play a game vs. a team of Pug/Jen/etc and throw a money pot in there. Play 10 games and see how many games they even get 1k. Then, have them bottle that feeling and tell the casual player whom plays killer "see how fun this is!"

This mentality is why people DC.

"Why should I keep playing if the game, at this point, is completely outside my control?"

At no point in any game should the player feel like they have no control or way to control a situation.

Also, its not an argument to say, "You should be playing like this" especially in regards to end-game. When your entire point is to be like "Don't let them win, duh." Then you don't have a point. The concept of a regressing exit gate just sounds too scary.

Regressing exit gate sounds scary? Lol

if you’ve lost 5 gens and you haven’t killed anyone, I hate to break it to you, you’re not getting a 4K unless it’s a swf that’s feels bad for you and is going to meme their own death

Also, that’s not “why people DC” - people whom rage DC can’t keep their emotions in check, accept defeat, and move on. That’s not so much a criticism as it is describing what’s happening in that particular moment

”you should never feel like you don’t have control” spoken like a control loving person :)

  • It’s a video game dude. Just move on to the next match. If you’re rank 8-20, you’re going to get face campers. You might face them above, and depending on the situation, it’s a valid strat.

too often, survivors complain about camping in these situations:

    1) you down 2 players. You hook them in close proximity. You have zero incentive now to leave. Blame falls on the 2 who went down

    2) you down someone, and 2 or more survivors are seen while you hook. Now they’re hiding, but you know they are close. One or both then show themselves a bit. They have just screwed the guy on hook, because as killer, you know only 1 person can be working on gens

    3) Hooked in the middle of a 3 gen strat - say goodbye

    4) have been playing fair but need someone dead, so you force struggle on a survivor before rotating

yes, rank 20 face camping is annoying to face in rank 1. At the same time, 3 gens should be popping while you have at least 30 seconds on struggle.

  • Don’t like it. Current system is fine. Current maps could be tweaked. Billy is fine enough on lerys too. Why DC? Never going to get better on Lerys, or in general, doing that
