  • I feel you and now I'm going back to finish my 47 trickster matches so I don't waste a single anniversary cake.

  • You need to actually activate the perk; getting in a locker after working a gen at least 3 seconds to make the gen explode and the killer needs to go within 15m of that gen after it explodes; do it twice and that's it.

  • If you play the new tutorial it unlocks Wraith (and David..) for free.

Here's my unpopular opinion; I find Trickster fun. He's getting a buff, can't wait to try it out. He's gonna be in a better place and I already enjoy him as is.

  • image.png

๐Ÿ˜Okay I know this isn't 9000 shards. I just couldn't resist and got the full set.

  • Yes, really happy with these changes. I really enjoy trickster and I feel that with these changes they have taken some of the frustration out of playing him. 6 blades to damage will be a gamechanger, the amount of times I couldn't get that last blade in before the survivor turns a corner.... that problem is solved. I think main event could actually be more viable and fun because you get the chance to keep it longer and activate it faster, altho I will have to test it out but it sounds good.

I never played around laceration decay since it wasn't a viable strategy to begin with so I don't expect to have an issue with this especially with the required knives going from 8 to 6.

Add on rework seems good; I have a ridiculous large pile of lucky blade and waiting for you watch so yeah they really needed a change. Iridescent photocard already was extremely powerful and keeps it's power which is fine since it's an iri add on. Melodious murder will hopefully be as quick as equipping iron maiden but we'll see, if so this is a nice add on.

Starstruck is my guilty pleasure perk and now they made the other two perks worth running in a fun build so I'm excited to try them out.

  • Yeah it's the same every year and I don't get the fun of it. Why would you bring a build and a plan to prevent others getting a crown and deny as many bp as you can. I've had so many unfun games as survivor yesterday I switched to killer which is way more relaxed. It's extremely easy to grant someone else a crown or a few more bp without throwing the entire game. But I guess I missed the memo and the dbd olympics have started or something.

  • Since sprint burst is an exhaustion perk I make them use it and go for someone else. They sprint miles from their gen and the next time I find them sprint burst is on cooldown so I get to see if they know other tactics. If they don't I get myself a hookstate. This kind of survivor also has a tendency to hop back on the same gen so if you fake drop the chase to return quick they are out of options soon.

I also don't kick unsafe pallets and try to force them to play it later so I can get a hit. Pallets are limited unless they are on a pallet heavy map like the game the good pallets won't last long.

  • I only got it twice so I couldn't really say anything about it. The chance to get it must be extremely low since I play almost every day. I would like to try it out...

  • I'm not very happy about this either, I got the skirt and the sweater before it was linked. They could at least set an ingame message about it and not just take it away silently.

  • It keeps getting postponed so if it eventually drops I will be very surprised. I'm tired of waiting and have moved on with my steam account leveling up characters I already had on switch. I hope I get my switch cosmetics on steam but to be honest it feels like it wil never happen. I miss them sharing information; it sucks if it will take more months or a year or will never happen but at least tell us.

  • Frenzy fatique base from 4 seconds to 3 seconds please.

  • The funniest salt I got was from a nurse on badham preschool, I was playing Bill without iron will. I got chased by a nurse for one gen in the early game; got downed and hooked, she decided to tunnel me off hook luckily I had BT so I only got deep wound. This did not stop her at all continuing to chase me around shack, I won a mindgame getting distance so I made it to the house.

I pulled out every trick in the box to evade her switching between breaking LoS, doubling back and holding W. She straight up lost me and I made it to the main building, I nearly went down in the corridor below but she hit the wall and I got the pallet vault. I eventually went down because she just wouldn't give up but it took so long 3 more gens got done. And shortly after that all gens were done, my team managed a safe. I ended up dying for another teammember that got camped but was overall happy with the good chase.

Endgame chat was me 'gg fun chase :D' and after that I got called a noob, a w gamer, a loser with only 600 hours and a whole lot more. The nurse had a lot more hours than me but was apparently very angry she could not get this very loud coughing bill that had a dark deep wound affected screen most of the chase. Maybe she thought I was rubbing it in that she chased for that long but I was just happy to survive so long LOL.

  • Legion has many playstyles and undetectable legion is one of them. It's not a useless dumb play like you think. It requires a different tactic; legion is a short killer you need to take advantage of line of sight blockers. I have used trail of torment/dragon's grip many times with succes. Yes sometimes it doesn't work but expecting a win every time is not realistic. I also have a good dark devotion build which works beautifully.

Tinkerer works fine on legion only I pair it not with ruin but pop. If played correctly you cut the chase short get the down and the pop. This legion was unlucky to lose ruin/undying so early but it's not a dumb build for legion. It's not that hard to not frenzy while undetectable and it's a rare occurence getting the tinkerer proc while using killer instinct. It also doesn't matter since killer instinct is mainly for info anyway and you need to go for the gen if you'd like to keep it which is all the info you need. I tend to already have most injuries before tinkerer procs anyway allowing me to get the most out of it.

Keep an open mind; using something different does not mean it can't work.

  • I'm always super relaxed when I'm playing Legion. I love the sound of those blips when I get my killer instinct going. I'm happily experimenting with lesser used perks like death bound/trail of torment/ blood echo etc. When I'm feeling evil I'll go for iri button with starstruck for map wide exposed status. I also enjoy spreading chaos with undetectable legion. They are versatile so playing them stays fun.

  • 2 maybe 3 I sadly don't see many tricksters at all. And when I do they usually overcommit on a bad tile for trickster throwing the entire game. The last trickster I saw let me run him around shack + part of the map until the last three gens were done. This one was a good sport but I tend to get camped after I do this which I kinda understand since getting 1-2 hooks all game is disheartening.

  • Legion; and I also have all perks on them. I started spirit and am on P1 L50 but I'm currently working on unlocking all survivor perks which is nearly done.

  • I do it when I see that nobody is coming to get me. It's basically me trying to catch their attention and it tends to work.

  • I'm ready to buy let's go!!!๐Ÿ˜

  • In the beginning I never cared for them. But now we have so many great charms that I actually use them. I usually have the tiki cup/mr.Puddles and the GG charm on my survivor. And the dwightcrow/ tikicup on killer, my third killer charm I switch out depending on my likings or what season it is. I have that fun Maurice charm up at the moment.

  • I've seen it multiple times the last few weeks. Had me a bit confused wandering around the area looking for the one that opened it. This also happened while I was hiding right next to a chest, gave me a small scare and the sound of it opening attracted the killer LMAO.

  • When you get better at juking a spirit it's really satisfying. One thing you need to realize is that spirit can't vault while she is haunting. This means that especially buildings like in haddonfield are her pet peeve. Vault the upstairs window and she either has to come out of haunting to vault or go so far around you get a ton of distance and can break LOS. I also use this at long walls with a vault in the middle; first you fast vault baiting the spirit to go around the wall but I'm not there since I slow vaulted back giving me distance and a spirit on power cooldown.

Half the time that a spirit is faking haunting by standing still her power is on cooldown.... Don't get tricked if you have just seen her use it a few seconds ago. So many survivors panic vault into spirit.

Nobody ever talks about spine chill to counter spirit but it's perfect against her stand still mindgames. The second spine chill turns off I know she is actually haunting. If you can win these mindgames you waste so much of her time. I just stand there and stare back or wander a bit to the side making the false impression I'm about to go to her side of the loop to provoke movement.

A last tip is be aware of the surroundings, grass/bushes/corn flips a bit if you walk through and is a dead give away. Play spirit yourself and you'll see why she gets so much easy hits and how you can avoid detection a bit longer.

  • You should go for that steam achievement to do a gen and escape without perks 8 times. It's a really satisfying achievement to get and after that you'll appreciate every perk way more. It'll free you from your current build.

  • For me it's the ugly characters; there is just nothing to like for me. I hate their design and every cosmetic they have, until they get something that fixes their look drastically I'm not gonna play them.

Their background story also irks me since it doesn't makes sense. The conjoined twins part is just wrong since the other twin always dies with the other. They should have swept them into the entity's realm once Victor died but in the real world surviving wasn't possible yet Charlotte did.

The power promotes massive camping and slugging something I do not enjoy. I like other killers way more so am not tempted to try the twins out to find a fun playstyle.

I'll buy them one day when they are on a massive discount just for the perks.

  • Denying my adrenaline. The killer had just picked me up when the last gen got done. He dropped me on purpose and my adrenaline kicked in. Let's say I was back on the ground and soon on the hook after that, I didn't even get 2 steps in before I went down. It was such a big brain play that I was completely caught off guard.

they dont listen. Literally had a run where I did 1 gen and I had 1 99ed one and right as I was bringing the killer over they popped it.

You can bring Repressed Alliance to stop other teammates from finishing your gen.

  • I've gotten completely ridiculous hits and I also have been on the receiving end. It's mostly latency or ping that's causing the visual to not match up. I have gotten hits that looked normal on my end but looked unfair for the survivor. But I also gotten away as survior while I feel it should have hit. It's what it is. When I play across continents it's the worst. EU vs NA means the killer is way closer than they appear.

  • The more hilarious version is a freddy that places a million security puddles around the hook. I laughed so hard when the one saving me wasn't in the dreamworld.๐Ÿคฃ

  • I almost never see him but when I do I get real excited. It's the thrill of finding out if the player has a grasp of this new killer yet. You need to stop with the altruistic behaviour against a good trickster. A bad one will pull out the knives every chance they get and will give you so much distance. A good one will wait till he is almost in m1 distance before getting the knives out.

I also love playing him and I'm starting to find out through which gaps you can snipe and over what obstacles you can hit; I want to face someone who knows these things. I want to see him more often so I can perfect my skills against him. Trickster isn't the strongest but certainly not the worst; killers just need more time to use his base kit better.

  • I don't think we'll get this. I just record my own gameplay to rewatch and seek out streamers to get their perspective.

  • I absolutely love the all-kill chapter. Trickster is well designed has actual voice lines and everything in the chapter is so detailed. I appreciate the amount of background research that went into this chapter and I'll be sad to see the stunning menu background go when the next chapter arrives. I'm steadily improving with Trickster but even before the buff I could rake in a 1-2k average with him. After the buff i'm getting more consistent in getting even more kills. He shouldn't be played like huntress or a m1 killer, you need to know when to use the knives. Main event needs a change since it's disheartening to lose it before a good situation to use it arrives.

I also highly enjoy starstruck even though it can be a nice perk. On the survivor side I like smash hit a lot. Yun-Jin also has beautiful cosmetics and i'm expecting more pretty shiny cosmetics in the future for both Trickster and Yun-Jin. Now all I need is a map to go with this and i'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping they'll add one after they reworked the existing maps.

Since I like it so much I purchased the chapter in the store to get the exclusive cosmetic for Yun-Jin.

  • Before the trickster buff I was trying to find the spots on haddonfield were you could snipe knives through. They used that haddonfield offering and I was just messing around. I discovered you could snipe someone on the other side of those white fences. Nea refused to leave the fence after injuring her and I continued to down her with my knives while she crouched behind the fence, fast dc plus an angry message that I was not allowed to exploit fences LOL.

I only dc when I encounter unplayable bugs. When we had that hill bug and the killer just stood there watching doing nothing I wasn't sticking around. I almost never dc but try to turn it around in my favor.

  • Right now it's plunderer's instinct/ deadhard / kindred / wglf

But I swap out the last perk a lot before wglf it was breakout

  • I've gotten 2 groups like this the last three days and I'm only playing trickster right now. The next time you get to the point that you start to feel bad about the match just don't give them attention anymore. I'm still learning how to use the knifes and where I can snipe through.

So I just stopped chasing after a few hooks and went to practice my aim. They came to check what I was doing which was perfect so I got to try out some sniping through the shack wall. I really miss a practice mode for things like this. If the survivors wanna stick around to give me more time that's okay with me I'll get better with trickster eventually.

It also feels that everyone likes to play haddonfield right now; had those offerings burned twice this evening alone. Let them play m1 genrush if they want that's on them, I'm not gonna be entertaining bully material while still learning a weaker killer.

  • I only have it on trickster and on legion. On it's own crowd control sucks because it gets cleansed to soon (I've been trying it out 2 evenings in different builds). You need to build around it. I hate it with bamboozle since it feels like taking pop while you also have ruin.

I have good succes with pairing any hex with thrill of the hunt/thana/undying on legion but that means you need to actively pressure totems and gens. If thrill goes off you need to beeline towards the totem at once, thana ensures you have enough time. Crowd control does give you a lot of value in this build with legion since they are injured and then you shut the looping down. That being said crowd control is hit or miss and dedicating an entire build to make it work tells me it's to weak right now.

Do want to test it further on other killers, and am still trying it out with legion. Also I find trickster too slow to be able to defend a hex properly.

  • When it works it feels great, that being said I also hate losing main event because I don't have a good opportunity to use it before it's gone. If the survivor is not in the open or animation locked like when unhooking I don't even bother anymore. Trickster is so slow while using it that the survivor has plenty of time to round a corner rendering me powerless.

I agree that it shouldn't go away passively since it's only useful in certain situations and takes effort to build up. The slow movement speed is punishing enough.

  • I never liked the twins; they look really ugly especially charlotte. I find the conjoined twins story badly written since the other twin also dies because you simply cannot live with a corpse attached to you. So it makes no sense at all that Charlotte lived after Victor dies. Also they are a conjoined twin but Victor has a normal body that happens to be half imbedded in the other twin. I don't feel that's even possible.

Not to mention the horrible playstyle they create with all the slugging and camping. I also find it quite boring that you can simply counter Victor by dropping a pallet and vaulting it keeping him there as long as you like. I just wait till he tries a pounce and then kick him down.

I still haven't bought them although I own every other killer, after the ptb I just didn't like the playstyle. I'll probably get them some day for the perks.

  • No did you even play the PTB? I used new DS once while I tested it for hours three evenings in a row. It is finally in a good place; anti tunnel and not 60 seconds of god mode.

  • One of the problems of a new killer is that you have nothing to help you; no good perks, no experience. The grind is ridiculous it took me so long to get 1 killer fully done so I could play however I like. Teams that derank to bully sadly require a non casual playstyle which isn't how you want to play.

I'm now back in red but deranked my killer because of investing my time in survivor instead; so rank reset brought me down to green. I can tell if a team belongs this low or not, the ones that don't belong got the nasty surprise of a red rank play instead of a casual game. I can only pull this off with my main killer btw, mastering a killer is key.

The matchmaking is still broken allowing things like this. What you can do since killer queue is fast; check the profiles and dodge the obvious smurf accounts. Will make the 1-2 matches you play a day much more fun.

  • Why do I get the nasty feeling of getting kidnapped and dragged into the basement by trolling survivors....

  • whispers.jpg

I always thought whispers was the bunny huntress staring at the fog until I looked at a larger image of it.

  • Sometimes there are so many things against you it's just impossible to turn the tide. I had a match on ormond as pig yesterday where I spawned across the map and I knew everyone probably spawned at the shack. I went straight to shack and they almost finished 2 gens before I got over there.

Downed someone quite quickly which cost me the 2 gens since they were nearly finished anyway. I think I got three or four hooks before they did all gens and it turned out to be 2 prove thyselfs with spicy toolboxes. They also got rid of my RBT at first or second try. I didn't bother chasing after that and went to break all the walls instead; hope they enjoyed the m1 simulator they invested a load of bloodpoints in given the expensive items they brought. Noone got over 15k bp btw (instead of me thx bbq). I only had brown add ons and a mediocre build since I have almost nothing on pig right now; I was outperked and they invested more bp. A bummer but nothing I can do; I move on to the next match.

  • Try playing at a diferent time; long queue means that you will probably get a rainbow lobby. I've learned that if I play survivor past 7 pm it will either be easy since I get paired with a green rank killer as a red rank survivor or absolute mayhem due to an inexperienced team and a rank 1 killer. I either play killer past this time or adjust my survivor playstyle to what the team needs. I have gotten crappy results with rainbow teams but also good ones, sometimes a team like that needs you to run the killer while they do gens. The matches they all hide are a loss since I can't do everything but at least I get some chase practice.

  • Legion; dragon's grip, trail of torment. dark devotion, coulrophobia with the iri button and stolen sketchbook

How this works; you never have to kick pallets (iri breaks them on vaulting), good duration on frenzy to get them al injured in one or two frenzy chains. Slow healing with coulrophobia since the terror radius is map wide with iri button while in frenzy + obsession spreading the terror radius with dark devotion after getting hit. They walk right into you when undetectable since legion is so short (do not use bunny legion the ears poke out above things). And to top it off no gen touchy denying my trail of torment because of dragon's grip.

This spreads so much confusion most of the time that I find them running around a deadzone injured. I also make maximum use of LoS blockers when approaching gens to avoid getting spotted early denying the distance. No looping with this build.

  • I take advantage of the overly altruistic behaviour. If you keep playing you'll get to the point that they can't render you powerless. I adjust to their playstyle, if I can't pick anyone up before slugging the rest of the team I will do so. They are gonna run out of unbreakables you know. The ones with the flashlights are almost always desperate for the save and will hide in bad spots making it an easy down. These teams are bored with the objective so I don't even bother to patrol gens they will come to me.

I hated these teams but they did make me think more about my next move thus I became a better killer. I don't get outplayed as much anymore but when I do I think about what went wrong to improve. Get out of that corner or you'll be forever stuck there.

  • I'm eagerly waiting as well. I have some sweet outfits from the third rift on switch which I would love on my steam account. I also have all killer perks unlocked on steam and not on switch and vice versa with the survivor perks.

  • NOOO my dwightcrow is invisible who knows what that evil thing is up to now

  • As if any of those trolls are gonna admit they type insults in chat. I would be really surprised if the ones that start throwing mud will own up to it.

  • I rarely get tunneled or face camped, in high ranks you just can't afford to do that. When I was in low ranks it happened more often. A proxy camp is more common but I consider that good strategy so I don't mind, most killers go for the unhooker anyway. I tend to get camped when I outplay the killer in a way that it tilts them which happens most if the killer is low ranks and shouldn't be matched with me. I almost never get any value out of ds which is why I now run something else.

If you get tunneled and camped alot in high ranks you need to rethink your playstyle cause you're doing something that peaks the killers interest towards you and not any of the others.

  • It takes time to get better at juking a nurse and vs a really skilled nurse you will have a hard time. It's about breaking LoS and not doing the exact same thing every time. If you double back don't do it in the next chase.

Stop relying on the basic looping tiles but also put your trust in what normally would be seen as a dead zone; the edge of the map with things like rocks/ z walls etc, tiles with haybales/ trees, tiles with junk piles. It's easier to predict where someone will go when running a jungle gym than when they are on another type of tile.

I had the bad habit of running tiles against nurse the way I would against other killers getting me killed a lot. Since I started doing things like leaving the tile when she is in fatique I get more distance and escape chase or get a longer chase before going down.

  • I use fun builds all the time in solo queue and don't have the same experience. Sure there are times I wished I had BT so I could get the proxy camp safe. Or had DH to prolong a chase. But I don't get camped/tunneled/ slugged more and my escape rate is the same. The killer does not know I have a fun build and will often respect the DS/DH/BT I do not have.

Not using meta requires a different playstyle; I did that perkless achievement before I started using fun builds making you really appreciative of ANY perk you have. You'll also be surprised at all the outplay potential a perk like lightweight gives simply because killers do not expect it. Killers see loads of meta perks but the moment you bring something like quick and quiet they get bamboozled if you use it smart.

Fun builds need you to make the most of what you have, a new fun build requires adjusting. I'm currently running QandQ/dance with me/windows of opportunity/ kindred. It's a good strong build for me in solo; I know what pallets haven't been used, can coordinate with kindred info and make a play in chase with the other perks. Items are optional, medkits are the strongest.
