Always report the ones that step over the line and start using slurs, these kind of people don't only say that to you so if they end up with a huge stack of reports action will be taken.
I usually call them out on being salty + send a gg with a heart. I have no idea why but this pisses them off enormously. I don't just sit there and take the ridiculous toxicity but also refrain from starting an argument since it's pointless and probably what they want. I also have the habit of listening to music between matches which is really relaxing.
-
I play mostly solo and it's always a gamble what you'll get. I've gotten such amazing teamwork that the killer thought we had comms. And I've had games with nobody doing gens and only lasting 2 seconds in chase. I try to adapt but sometimes it's so horrible I can't helpt it. I just can't take aggro AND do all the gens. If they do gens I try to keep the killers attention on me. If they don't do gens or the killer is smart enough to break chase I try to do enough for at least a safety pip.
-
2vs8 would only be fun in a custom game and it feels kinda gimmicky. You don't want the SWF equivalent: KWF; killers being a killer duo on comms. You could coördinate everything and zone the survivors which would mess badly with the balance. An 8 person swf also sounds horrible vs 2 solo killers.
-
I think you can pick a killer to play but having a main killer comes naturally. It will be the killer you come back to every time after trying out others. That's also why you can end up getting a different main killer if there is a new one released that might fit your playstyle better. You haven't found out which one you like the most so just keep trying others till you know what killers you enjoy most.
I learned the basics with wraith but now main legion. Which doesn't mean I don't play other killers just that I play a lot more legion. Once you found the one you really like you can start mastering the power, if it turns out you like a less powerful killer best that's perfectly fine even in red ranks. Most survivors get a rude awakening facing someone that really knows what they are doing with a killer like this. I think you would enjoy oni or spirit so I'd try them next.
-
It took me sometime but I can now play stressless since I play for fun while striving to get better without feeling disheartened at a loss. A few tips:
- Stop doing daily quests and achievements. Doing these will force you to play a certain killer or force a certain playstyle to get it, since you aren't comfortable with the killer role you shouldn't be doing challenges at all.
- Killer will take more strategic play than survivor since you play by yourself that's why it can be more stressful. Start with learning a basic M1 killer; once you learn this your skill will carry over to a lot of other killers. I learned the basics with wraith.
- Stick with one killer! Every killer is different pick one and master him.
- Watch some guides on youtube about looping. Keep in mind that you want to deny fast vaults. Usually you loop tiles counter clockwise.
- Ingame BM>don't react to t-baggers and flashlight clickers they just lose distance while doing it so it's actually good for the killer.
- Record your matches and rewatch to see where something went wrong or why you won so you get better faster.
- It takes time to be a great killer either you stop the torture of playing sometimes and stick to survivor or you commit and push through to get skillful. Days without killer gameplay really messes with building muscle memory and makes learning harder.
- Salty endgame? ignore or send: <3 gg. Killer queue is like 5 sec I just move on.
Edit: Also keep in mind that you shouldn't be able to win against experienced survivors while being new to killer. Your opponents could have >1000 hours into survivor while you only have 0-100 hours on killer. It's not evenly matched and you should only expect to learn a bit more about killer gameplay not a win. A better mindset is all about expectations.

BHVR is hilarious with their hook counter, kinda insulting that they assume we need a counter to remember hooking someone. If they deny the same info as the survivor side at least remove the useless counter beyond brown ranks please.
Since playing killer is highly strategic I remember a lot more than just who has been hooked how many times. I'm micromanaging every piece of info I get so I can make the most of it later. If I want to tunnel someone out I can do that right now with or without extra hookstage info on the HUD.
I find more hookstage info for survivor a good change especially for casual solo play. Now I only need a button to turn off the killer hook counter and I'm back to normal without screen clutter.
-
When I was a real unexperienced piggy I finally got a RBT on a player that clearly was not only outplaying me but made sure I knew it with loads of bm. It was just before the last gen popped and he got saved of the hook while I was going for someone else. He kept following and taunting just out of reach and ended up happily teabagging near the exit while I was watching from a small distance. I clearly knew something he didn't and he tried to leave with an active RBT on his head. Never had a more satisfying kill with a RBT.
-
I don't see it more often but I wish I would; it is my favorite map. It's a good killer map if you just let them have the saloon gen so they don't have a reason to go there anymore. If you get a survivor that beelines to the saloon just find another it's not like there is an objective to do there for them so I don't mind them hiding in there.
As survivor you need and can make the most of line of sight breakers with all those smaller buildings. Yeah there are loads of unsafe pallets but that only means you don't linger around those. Totems spawn in obvious spots (there is always 1 in the saloon for example). I find it quite fun to pull of a stealth bush play. Hatch spawn is predictable (usually in the street, under the gallows or on a boardwalk). Since it's a good map for killers you need to think about your position and only repair gens in deadzones when the killer is busy.
And it looks beautiful. I also like the game map so I don't represent the majority LOL
-
I swap around a lot and currently run this for vault speed; Bamboozle/ fire up with bloodecho/ mindbreaker to tackle the exhaustion perks.
Before this I was playing around with stealth using dark devotion/ tinkerer/ dragon's grip/ trail of torment. You need to keep in mind that killer instinct doesn't work while you're undetectable and does work around the obsession while they run around with your terror radius.
Legion works with a lot of builds so I'm always looking around and matching to try new things.
-
Definitely that Dwight the brave challenge; I acted like such a stalker hiding behind everything while trying to count if I hid long enough and close enough. It figures I got killed loads of times until encountering a friendly wraith that helped me out. I even tried hiding behind a facecamper but I wasn't stealthy enough... I got so much salt for my stupid actions from my team.
-
Bloodecho on legion; when you take away the exhaustion perks you mess with their minds. I love it when they are slowly walking depending on their non existent sprint burst or the greed around a loop and than no deadhard to save them.
Although dark devotion must be a close second; I use that with the lumber jacket legion when I get a similar looking Nea in my lobby. The amount of times survivors think I'm Nea is hilarious. You can almost taste the panic when they figure it out too late.
-
I love facing killers that I have played a lot so legion, spirit and pig are up top. I can also really appreciate a great nurse.
-
I'm also wondering what's up. I've had multiple games with 2 brown ranks and the third being green or yellow while I'm red rank. I'm getting really annoyed by this since I either carry the entire team and get left behind on first hook or escape alone. They either do gens and hide or only hide while I'm taking aggro like 3/4 of the match. The killers also tend to be green ranked with the odd purple.
-
I just take advantage of their weak aspects. I absolutely despise plague because of the annoying coughing and puking but I don't find her hard to go against. I just endured and now I almost always escape against her and find her less irritating.
With deathslinger you need to stop giving up on hook since you'll never get better against him. I find succesfully dodging a few shots to extend the chase a lot of fun. I especially like a good deathslinger that tries to snipe you through windows and cracks in walls; it just ups your own game. It will get better once you use breaking LOS better and get a better game sense on when a deathslinger will try a shot on you.
Against most deathslingers things like window fakes, pretending to go for the pallet but turn away at the last second will lure a shot from them. You need to not be obvious with your pathing. Also crouching reduces your hitbox doing this with the right timing behind small objects can make it really hard to land a hit.
-
Some maps have certain tiles it spawns on more often. Like dead dawg it usually spawns on the road between the gallows and saloon or under the gallows, or on the other side of the road. Sometimes on the boardwalk of the smaller building
On pale rose swamp it can spawn everywhere and will also spawn on the edges so it's pure luck.
The grim pantry swamp will often spawn on the downstairs floor of the smallest cabin building.
Haddonfield it appears most often in the middle of the road on either side or on one of the porches.
-
After getting used to old ruin I can't say DS skillcheck is that hard.....
-
O I can tell alright. They are the only ones who never throw pallets while healthy and waste no time but start running the second they see a glimpse of me.
-
If you should or shouldn't cleanse depends on so many different scenarios in the match. It also ain't that easy to hit someone with the puke if there are enough objects. So loop tightly to stay healthy as long as possible. Plague needs to charge it up a bit giving a small timeframe to round a corner or crouch behind a barrel.
Situations in which I cleanse:
- If the whole team starts cleansing I do to for the simple fact that all the fountains will reset if they are all used denying the plague all fountains. She gains her power if you do that but all fountians are reset. If I can I will get infected on purpose just to be able to use the last fountain.
- In endgame I cleanse as far away from both gates as possible.
- 3 gen situation, I cleanse on the opposite side of the map so the plague has to travel far giving the team gen time.
- If you do cleanse always try to do it in an area with completed gens.
I do not cleanse:
- If the plague will not commit to the chase, I simply walk which stops the infection meter from progressing to broken, over to the nearest gen.
- If the team doesn't cleanse and it is early in the game, I only work on gens near a safe tile not in a deadzone.
- If I am better at looping than the killer is. You can still stun her out of her power if she does get it. Also loop tightly/ use crouch to avoid and beware of windows.
Plague is one of the weaker killers so it should certainly not be an automatic gg when someone picks her.
-
I'm currently only master of 1 and looking which I'd also like to master. I enjoy playing my main and have no intention to master everything. Sure I do try out other killers but at least for now I don't have the time to master all + playing the one I like most.
-
The last one I remember is me playing Bill on fractured cowshed against a nurse. I was working on a gen on the edge of the cornfield. It was like cornfield, tree and the gen against the tree. The nurse comes to check it, I let go when I see her but have no way of making it to a good tile so I crouch behind the gen. The nurse checks 3 sides and kicks it while I slowly crouchwalk behind that tree and then leaves. I couldn't believe that worked it was pure bluff on my side.
As killer I was on dead dawg saloon and see a survivor slowly get in a locker on the first floor of the saloon. It was in the corner of my screen so he obviously didn't think I could have seen that. When I got upstairs he was still in it so I grabbed him out.
-
Jack in the box
Let's the killer hide in lockers and gives the obsession the terror radius. Jump out to stun passing survivors.
-
As long as I see most survivors make the stupidest plays against a legion I'm not gonna take the he's boring seriously. Despite what people write on the forum; it's not like that many people dc at the sight of legion and they also don't massively give up.
Most survivors just make awful plays you just can't get away with against this killer. To name a few; dropping pallets while healthy, deadharding frenzy, jumping in lockers against frenzy. I can make a large list to be honest.
I have loads of fun against legion since I know how to counter effectively. Even mending isn't a brainless mechanic although it feels like most just stop thinking after getting hit and start mending.
-
Quentin doesn't have any nice outfits so as long as I can't dress him up he is staying by the campfire.

No that’s not the real problem. How is trying to add a bit of excitement to an extremely dull game the problem. Imagine playing 5 games in a row where the killer facecamps, whether or not you’re the one that’s hooked, that’s 5 games of doing basically nothing other than holding m1. This is the kind of thing that makes people quit the game cos it’s so boring.
In my experience there isn't a real problem I almost never see a real facecamp happen unless it is endgame and then I get the strategy. I've never had multiple games in a row where facecamping happens. If the team acts smart the killer only gets one kill + it is boring as hell so no sensible killer will keep this playstyle up forever. Proxycamping is something I see quite often but this just takes skill and knowing when is the best opportunity to get the save.
Edit: also trying to save when they facecamp gives the killer more kills + noone on gens so win-win situation. After the hooked person dies there has been nothing done and the killer can go hook and camp the next person.
-
I have no idear why you would camp that early since it is quite boring for the killer as well. Some nights all the facecampers seem to be out and that's when I switch on steve with camaraderie and tell my team I have this perk. I'll be hanging around a little longer (vibing to my music) while the team gets more gen time.
The real problem is in solo most people try saving which gives the killer more kills. It's crap for the hooked one but if we want to punish this the team needs to genrush. But to be fair I haven't been facecamped in over a month while I almost play daily.
-
The real question is did you feel happy and relaxed after that punishment game? I think you still lose if the answer is no. Don't let other people crawl under your skin like that.
I have gotten gg ez after I killed them all because they were so happy about the flashlight save. Makes me laugh. I had a SWF a few days ago who went EEEZZZZ etc. I just send back; I agree you had easy mode <3 Even salty chat can be funny you know. Ended with a few jokes and we all moved on.
If you can't chill please close endgame chat and don't take it out on the next group. Play how you want but don't kill your own fun in the process.

Since the devs fixed that FOV bug there still is a problem with the FF lunge even though they claim it isn't bugged and never was.
Sometimes legion doesn't lunge at all in FF making you miss the hit. Hits I know for 100% I should get don't hit! If you play legion enough you will notice if you don't you probably won't see the problem since it doesn't happen consistently. Also it takes experience to know if you missed a FF hit because you messed up or if you missed because of the game.
I can play multiple matches without a problem and than suddenly I get no lunge. I've noticed it tends to happen just after vaulting pallets/windows, just after dropping down and after standing still/slowing down and moving again. But I have also gotten no lunge while looping at full speed so I still get caught by surprise when it happens. Another problem is that aim dressing sometimes let's you hit the hitbox from a wall or pile of trash instead of the survivor, this happens more on the reworked maps.
Try not to use lunge in frenzy unless you absolutely have to but be patient instead and get a little bit closer to your target.

Ruin/ undying is fine for me, it's high risk high reward but only if the killer plays it correctly. Loads of players seem to think you slap on ruin/ undying and you will win regardless of how you play, those perks aren't that strong you know...
As killer you need to pressure gens consistently and keep an eye on your totems. That aura reveal only lasts 6 seconds and when you have your back to them you will miss it completely. Yes, I do other things as killer not only camp the middle of the map waiting for aura reveals. Also there is no way to know which totem actually is undying until ruin gets cleansed and relocates. You'll have to defend both totems to prevent undying going first all while pressuring the gens to actually get any value. And crap spawns might mean the totems are on opposit ends of the map which makes them undefendable.
Ruin/ undying isn't consistent which makes it fun, as killer you need to work for it. As survivor I love a good challenge, when my team gets stomped I know the killer did a great job at playing his cards right. It's a good feeling winning the ruin/ undying tug a war for both sides.
A little tip for killers; slap on thanatophobia with 4 survivors injured totem cleansing gets slowed by 20%, you're welcome.
-
You guys spare certain characters??? Guess I'm not picky I'll kill them all. I do give someone hatch sometimes but that has to do with the player behind the character. I especially love finding the hiding one out of the two last players and giving the player that still did gens the hatch.
-
32 seconds is way too long, I can get more than 1/3 of a gen done in that time!! If you just spread out and would have also worked on a gen the team would have at least 2 gens over 1/3 done. You need to pressure the killer by working on gens a healthstate is easily undone. You can still loop fine while injured. Selfcare should at least be paired with botany knowledge to make it helpful. And you need to know when to use it I often never use it when I put it in a build.
You'll spend your time better getting used to running around injured. Everyone healing constantly is actually really good since it means nobody is working on gens while the killer continuous hunting you down without the worry of 2 gens popping. There are moments for healing and there are moments for selfcare but the latter is rare if you would like to be efficient and win more.
-
The only time I do that is when I fast outplay a toxic clicky-clicky survivor type. Just to let them know I feel they are rude and not half as good as they feel they are. BM is ridiculous but when you can't even back it up with great gameplay it gets sad. After that hook they don't get attention since they don't deserve any until the very end, which usually brings loads of salt in the chat.
-
Lightweight is in an okay spot, because so few run this it is actually viable. No killer ever expects it. It's like iron will you'll have to run it enough to see the value and sometimes it's just guessing if the perk did save you.
I run it with lithe/ dance with me/ quick and quiet and this is a strong combo. I have run it without these perks and I see killers lose me and get really confused checking the area while I sneak off. Run it with fixated at first so you get to know how to get good use out of it. Tier 1 and 2 are useless so if you want to buff it those need to go up a second. Tier 3 is in a good spot, it is niche but isn't everything that isn't the meta.
-
Everytime I see a fountain I just sigh since plague is not only a bad killer but let's you hear the constant coughing and puking. I find it really annoying. She needs a lot of love from the devs... The fact that you can prevent getting broken by just walking is ridiculous. I can't even remember the last time I encountered a good plague and even then the annoying coughing still makes my skin crawl.
-
I imagine that survivor in 1st person would be much scarier than 3th person. And I also see loads of real life accidents happen in a chase situation. Would be interesting vaulting pallets and running around on the spot they should advertise that as an unique sports game.🤣
-
Killer: I'd like to learn a new killer to play next to my much loved legion gang. I'm still undecided but have my eyes on pig and demo. With legion the lunge in frenzy is inconsistently bugged so you get a normal swing instead. I'm trying not to scream when I miss while I'm literally breathing down their neck. As long as this remains I need to learn to get even closer before I swing, which is crappy since my muscle memory is like 'swing now!!'.
Survivor: I need to stop mindgaming myself. I'm decent and can last a good while in chase but the dumb stuff like double backing on myself or vaulting while my mind says NO!! is what gets me killed. I need to wait a split second before I do or don't do whatever I'm thinking about. Slowly improving but this will take a while.
-
fixated/ sprintburst is a good combo.😁 Running non meta is refressing, I get bored when I use the same build to long.
I like to run lithe/ quick and quiet/ dance with me/ lightweight. It's loads of fun since it's really confusing for the killer when you vault something and break line of sight. When I'm just messing around I especially like to observe from a distance how they loop the jungle gym an extra time and then search a locker.
I also love we'll make it/ empathy/ botany knowledge/ self care + a medkit. Easy to find injured teammates, get near the chase for the save, fast heals. I do selfcare for medkit efficiency. I want to try out desperate measures instead of self care but I haven't unlocked it yet.
And the endless knowledge build kindred/ bond/ open handed/ spine chill. I use this to pull of some stealth and plan the coördination with my team as a solo. Knowing that someone else is gonna save gives me valuable gen time. I'm gonna try urban evasion instead of open handed when I unlock it.
-
I haven't noticed this. I try to play around pallets in a way that forces them to either give it to me or risk getting hit. They do make the mistake thinking I will respect so they won't drop while it was the only thing that could have saved them. So if you want pallets stop respecting.
For this challenge I picked out a pre pallet droppper and never stopped chasing till I had almost every pallet down in the entire map. It will cost you a match or 2/3 but I'd rather do this than endure 3/4 pallets over 6/7 matches. I only break strong pallets in a normal match so it would have taken the entire night if I didn't adjust my playstyle.
-
I main legion and everyone that says they are bad or boring just don't get their playstyle yet. The survivors that complain the most are the ones deadharding frenzy, dropping pallets against frenzy, hide in lockers against killer instinct, never stop healing in a group etc. Yes this happens in red/ purple ranks and yes some make the same mistake twice. I enjoy playing legion and get enough positive messages in endgame chat to counter the salt which makes me think enough people love them too.
-
I have Legion P3 50 only missing the perks from PH, Blight and the twins all the other perks are tier 3.
On survivor I haven't started P3 since I'm waiting for cross progression with switch I have all perks unlocked so I don't wanna grind again. I have like 5 or 6 on level 40 on steam that's it. I like Kate so she'll get P3 50 first.
I intend to P3 everyone eventually.
-
I don't know if I was in the same match but I've seen that too. I had empathy and even the aura had the long hair.😂
-
Every once in a while and they also never believe me when I say it was a solo game. It just takes a good play and a teammate that capitalizes on this. I usually get accused of SWF by killers I can read like a book. They have a particular playstyle and never stray away from it. They don't get it that 4 good solo players catch on to the same mindgames and don't need voice comms to win.
As killer I assume SWF when they have similar names, the same character, the same cosmetics. Or ingame the overly altruistic team is usually a SWF.
-
I had a match like this a few days ago and I did report with video evidence I'm now patiently waiting for the outcome which will probably take a while (last time I reported it took 20 days). The wraith wasn't even AFK since after the survivor dc'd he came to the gate we just opened.
-
They were to powerful before they changed them. But right now they promote a camping playstyle; if you really want your 3-4k by a mori you just need to force second state on first hook which is quite easy. First hook mori's are unfun for survivors and you can technically still do exactly that.
I would have liked trying out something like the mori becomes active after 2 gens granting 1 stack to mori and than after each gen that gets done you get another stack. Plus granting a stack after hooking twice (not necessarily the same survivor). And limiting stacks to 1-4 depending on what color mori you took. It promotes tactical play from both survivor and killer.
-
If you don't wanna get tunneled after finding a key you just have to place it somewhere on the ground and go get it in the endgame. I never run around with keys since it's like waving a red flag to a bull.
-
I use OBS for recording take your time optimizing the settings first since it will take some tweaking to match your pc and getting the best quality recordings. If you spot a twitch streamer in your match go see if they are streaming and watch the VOD if you want to see another players perspective.
-
I'm not surprised so many players have mentioned Legion's killer instinct, I have been accused of hacking multiple times for finding survivors hiding behind rocks/trees/ inside lockers. Some also don't know legion can open lockers or pick up downed survivors while in frenzy so they start accusing me of a hack in endgame chat... It's actually really fun seeing how much survivors do not know about legion.
I also had a whole team complain about the fact that I deliberately exhausted them preventing the use of deadhard/ sprintburst etc. It's called Bloodecho and even after I said that they just kept screaming hacker.😅 BHVR must be really busy with al those false reports...
-
You need to be a little more patient before you swing and do not lunge.
-
I wouldn't wait they haven't announced cross progression for xbox so it might never come. They promised switch cross progression in september it is now december and there still isn't a new date for that... I started on switch and am glad I didn't wait because I would still be waiting.... I already had 2 DLC on switch but decided to get them again since I enjoy them. In 6 months I have all killer perks unlocked, 1 P3 50 killer and a little start in survivor to have a usable build. It is horrible to climb the rank and grind again but it is worth it. For example I love my steady FPS and I get to try the PTB.😁
In your case I would start on PC and only buy the DLC you actively use right now. If you grinded that out and there still isn't cross progression for xbox I would consider buying more DLC.
-
I used it yesterday works like before nothing changed for me after the bugfix patch.
-
I got another one...perk related
Oppression causes a difficult skillcheck however if you already have a normal skillcheck the difficult one doesn't appear and hitting the normal one will blow up the gen. But hey at least the UI tells you it was oppression.😐️
