@Peanits said:
We can't guarantee that at least one killer will get changed with each mid-chapter. We do also need to make time for other changes like perk balancing and various other mechanic changes/additions. We'll see what we can do, though.
For the Pig specifically, I wouldn't want to see Rule Set No. 2 as part of the base kit (on a personal level). I use traps to slow the game down, making it not show auras until a generator is completed would encourage the exact opposite. People would want to do a generator so they can see the auras rather than taking their trap off before doing generators. I think it's better off as an add-on. If you want it, you can take it, but if you want to use the traps to slow, you're not forced to have it.
Thank you, as always, for your promptness in responding. :)
In my idea, maybe wrong, not seeing the auras of Jigsaw's Boxes means spending more time finding them, and therefore staying away from the gens for longer. If, on the contrary, as you suggest, the Rules Set No. 2 weakens the power of the Pig, why on earth is it an ultra rare add-on? XD What's its function, then?

@NoShinyPony @Raptorrotas I fear that there is a big communicative misunderstanding linked to the linguistic difference: with "darker atmospheres" I mean sinister settings, disturbing sounds, assets evocative of death, of barbarism, of agony, games of shadows and chiaroscuro that whet the atavistic fears of the unconscious. On the contrary, "darker atmospheres" does NOT mean implementing the New Moon Bouquet, flatly darkening the tones of all the maps.
-
@Peanits Yes, my thought goes to Lampkin Lane, Treatment Theater, The Game, Family Residence and Mount Ormond Resort maps, and to Crotus Prenn Asylum, Backwater Swamp and Red Forest realms: MacMillan, Autohaven and Coldwind don't need extra maps. :)
-
@Orion Also the cloaked Wraith moves into a different realm, the Spirit World, but there is an add-on that gives him, albeit invisible, the terror radius, plus a bonus in BPs. I think we need to analyze the lore according to the mechanics, and not the mechanics according to the lore. The fact remains that I may be wrong: I am only curious to explore what happens in very particular circumstances. :)
-
@Orion So, if tomorrow a deafening status effect will be introduced, which prevents the rescuer from hearing the terror radius, will they become unable to safely rescue the hooked friend?
-
@Orion Yes, but Borrowed Time is a perk aimed at protecting the unhooked survivor, not the rescuer: shouldn't the danger perceived by the first rather than the second survivor take on importance? In the vast majority of cases, there is no difference, but I discuss in principle. The unhooked survivor is the Borrowed Time's "protagonist", or not? The rescuer is just an altruistic mate.
-
@LordGlint Maybe after the dedicated servers will be implemented.
Returning to the topic of discussion, according to logic Borrowed Time should always work against Freddy, because the hooked survivor is awake and hears the terror radius, and not the lullaby, regardless of whether the latter is treated like a terror radius (for the purposes of Insidious, for example) or not. The question arises as to what happens if the hooked survivor is the obsession and Freddy has the Black Box add-on, which prevents him from waking up. @Peanits Would you kindly give us your valuable technical and official answer in this regard? :)
-
@LordGlint Yes, I play on PS4 Pro and I accept with no doubt the challenge to face PC players.
-
@Peanits I'm not very good at understanding fluently spoken English, but I seem to have understood, watching the video on Youtube last night, that your answer to this topic is YES: could you confirm that I meant it right? :)
-
@LordGlint I fully support the cross play!
-
@LordGlint I am currently away from home and, moreover, I play on PS4, not on PC. :(
-
@DaS_only Ultra-rare add-ons can be pink, black, rainbow, white, mother-of-pearl or even polka-dot: color is not important. What matters is that there is a symmetry, a balance, a wise distribution of the add-ons into the various levels of rarity, and a reasonable relationship between the add-ons and the basekit power.
-
I will never get used to this climate of perpetual distrust and dark suspicion that lingers everywhere, a bit like the mist in the realms of the Entity. A teaser has not yet been released, there are no leaks on the Nurse to come, but you are already squirming as if you already knew the transformation. You are only giving voice to your worst fears, confusing assumptions and reality (still unknown). Wouldn't it be the case to wait for more information, before unleashing the usual faction wars that bloody this forum more than the Ebony Mori? XD
-
@DrDeepwound You should trust the developers more than you do now: they have no reason, no interest, to ruin their own product.
-
I'm curious to read the results of all your tests about these topics. :)
-
Actually, I conquered some adept trophies despite the DC of a survivor: it's harder, but technically still possible, to make two pips.
-
My Myers has reached Evil Within 4 because of the excitement of reading these proposals! XD
Considering that Ghost Face can be deprived of power during stalking, while Myers no, I consider it fair that the regeneration of evil in the survivors takes place progressively more slowly, so that the killer, if he fails to close the game, can continue to enjoy his power, but with increasing effort.
-
@Seltas0208 Thrilling Tremors? No, my icon represents the Almighty-Entity-Dominating-Both-Killers-And-Survivors: it's not by chance that I chose this name. XD Farce aside, thanks, I'm glad you like it. :)
@LordGlint New generic perks would be very useful to add variety without heavy grind, and I agree the Doctor needs a buff to his basekit, especially the shock therapy area.

XD).
-
Yes, it would make cross play fairer, and therefore more likely to be introduced.
-
Yeah, every good perk is a challenge to the META, a way to make the game richer!
-
@MandyTalk @Gcarrara I have just written a post here, but I can't find the thread in the section. What's happening? O.o
-
The new Freddy has arrived, stronger than ever. Now we need to look back to September, a month full of news, including the new killer, survivor and map, dedicated servers and permanent lobbies with friends. I think it is most appropriate to implement this 3-step procedure before the 3.2.0 patch release: the developers have caught too many fish in the face, and the community has become too enraged, during the PTB of the Legion, of the Plague and, above all, of Ghost Face, so much better a new behind-the-scenes quality control with highly talented and reliable players than yet another flood of controversy...
-
@gantes @Seltas0208 @HeyItsNick123andnea Thank you for your support! :)
-
@Groxiverde Thank you. :)
-
I'd like very much some extra icons in the HUD: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/46961/change-for-the-solo-survivors-to-help-be-in-level-with-swf
@Ihatelife had a very good idea and I contributed to improve it.
-
My Myers is happy to grab people, and slaughter them all! Muahahahaha! XD
-
@NoShinyPony The full SWF issue is that they have freely Aftercare, Bond, Empathy and Kindred as extra perks by voice chat, and killers suffer against them, but cannot be buffed without destroying solos' hopes to win a trial. Darker atmospheres in the game, and especially in the basement, are not a problem, according to my humble opinion, and even the terror radius disappearance in the basement is just a BEWARE message for those who freely decide to go there.
-
@NoShinyPony Of course, after thousands of trials, many things are now predictable and no longer frighten you, but the magic of the game deserves to be preserved and increased: I don't think that reducing it to a mechanical sequence of moves to manage the chases is the best way to savor it in its entirety. Furthermore, not all teams are complete (statistics reveal that only a small minority of players face trials with three friends in voice chat), and not all survivors belong to a team. I play with friends when it happens, but if I look for the horror challenge I launch the game in the middle of the night, with the lights off, with headphones and nothing else to distract me from the appalling beauty of the Entity's realms. **
-
Nobody wants a scarier game? :(
-
Other comments?
-
@TheGameZpro3 I read something about "certification issues" (as if Sony wanted to shilly-shally before authorizing the release of the patch), but I'm glad to discover there are only technical bugs. :)
-
@brokedownpalace I hope I'm wrong. What's the reason of the delay, according to you? Why wasn't there any issue on Xbox?
-
@NekoGamerX I suspect Sony's damn selfish policy is the culprit of the delay, the same one that could create problems for cross play. You know how it is, Left 4 Dead is a Valve product, and Valve owns Steam: there is a conflict of interests as big as the Mother's Dwelling...
-
The cross play would be great! ** I hope Sony won't raise issues for its own interests...
-
I have never met Myers since the 3.1.0 release... :(
-
If I'm allowed to make a comparison with another game, StarCraft II is a real-time strategic game that includes three races (Terran, Zerg, Protoss) that are profoundly different for mechanics, buildings and units, but I've seen official StarCraft 2 tournaments on YouTube, especially South Koreans.
I don't see why Dead by Daylight shouldn't become an Esport, after complete optimization and dedicated servers. :)
-
@Peanits I am aware of the problem of the cumulation of time savings, which could make the action instantaneous, unlike the speed variations, which would never have such an effect, unless we admit a speed tending to + ∞. As I wrote, it is a question of modifying where it is possible to do so without damage: if there is the risk of altering the functioning of certain mechanics, or of producing paradoxical results, the change must be radically excluded. On the contrary, if it is possible to make the quantity more intuitive in a harmless way, then it is a small adjustment that makes the captions more player-friendly. :)
-
@michaelrandom27 I agree that prolonged survival should be rewarded, but I find sad to link a bonus to a mate's death (if it's not a compensation for their DC): wouldn't it be better to create a scoring event in the moment of your death, which considers how long you have survived and if you have been moried or sacrificed for second, third or last?
-
In the Developer Update June/July 2019 you announced a Survival category reform, which has not been included in the 3.1.0 patch: could you kindly tell us when you'll implement it? I wrote a humble proposal about this topic: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/74679/survival-category-reform
-
@not_Queen @Patricia @Peanits Errata corrige. In the first game I had scored over 2,500 points in Survival, but in the following ones the numbers were back to the classical values, ie below 1,000 BP (in case of death or sacrifice, of course). Then, I assume the Survival category reform has been removed from the plans for the 3.1.0 patch.
Consequently, I fully rewrote the OP to make a reasonable and organic proposal about this topic. I'd like very much to read your precious comments about it. Thank you all, great Developers! :D
-
Oh, yes, nothing should be wasted! **
-
@Peanits I'm curious to know if "soon" means "within this week". **
-
@Peanits Thank you all for the great Badham I-V maps (they are wonderful and have nice assets) and for the powerful Freddy, of course. I just have a question. I noticed a meaningful increase in the overall and survival points gains, but I have no scoring events during the wiggle or when I'm sacrificed, according to the duration of the survival. Could you make them visible some way?
@Gcarrara Could you move this thread into the appropriate section, please? It's still "alive". XD
-
@Science_Guy According to the English Wiki, Coldwind is the Bubba's unofficial realm: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Bubba_Sawyer
-
I'd prefer six slots for each character. :)
-
@Peanits A power switch between the old and the new Freddy would be great! Even better than any cosmetic! **
-
@Peanits Vigil should quicken all the status effects recovery with a greater rate than now: maybe 25/30/35%, like Unbreakable?
-
Interesting tool! I'd try it. :)
