Those God Loops/"Infinites" always involve a window that survivor can use without a risk (Except some killers) and are able to waste a lot of the killers time just by using these windows (for example the window in the main building from Iron Works of Misery in the picture below). As a killer you are forced to break the chase if a survivor manages to get to one of these windows and ignore that part of the map.
So my question is,why can't these very strong windows get closed?
It would be an easy change to implement and a HUGE step towards balancing maps.Furthermore every map that features a god loop/"Infinite" has more than enough strong windows and palletts for survivors to work with so they don't need these god loops anyway.
What do you think?
Well there isn’t any “infinite’s” anymore but even though this is a god loop the devs are working on them, they’ve been experimenting with breakable walls so it’s only a matter of time before these get sorted instead of just adding a door or removing the window.

At least for me these past 20 games have all had Keys, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, and Borrowed Time (all the Rank 1s I've faced all use these three perks). I got 1 Yui with Head On, Dance With Me, and Lithe, and honestly I'll take that because that's more fun than the same [BAD WORD] over and over again.
Why should people put themselves at a disadvantage? If you can do really well with the same 3 Killers/perks, while others are a gamble, why should you stop using the reliable ones?
I'm not trying to mock this issue; but it's very much an intentional balance choice to let Killers and perks have wildly varying strengths and power levels, which of course means you're going to see more of the strong and less of the weak.
Yeah I only run ds, borrowed and dead hard the last perk I mess around with but those 3 are just needed if the killer plays a bit campy

survivors more and more do this but if its not bug maybe someone know how to counter this if its bug FIX this plz….survivor who stay under hook is immortal ….killer cant catch cant hit ….nothing

Aight guys try not to roast me too bad cause I'm a little tipsy rn but how do y'all feel about killers having a exhaustion perk. Do y'all feel like it could help against bigger maps lmk what y'all think? If yes let me know y'all's ideas it might help the developers.
Maybe, but I think there could be an interesting dynamic of it instead of needing you to stop as a killer to get it back you lose 5% move speed, so 115% go to 110% and 110% to 105% for a length of time, this then still lets the killer move but being slower even by a little is rough for killers so the effect gained could be relatively strong especially if the slow effect lasts 60 seconds, as for ideas... killer version of dead hard but it’s a charge? Set transport teleportation stations that are in fixed locations using one gives exhaustion? Quick vault where the killer jumps through the window as quick as a survivor quick vault? Could be interesting indeed.

Hey devs if we could go ahead and remove hatch key or change what it does that would be great. I'm tired of being well on my way to a 3 or 4k and then watching the hatch icon appear out of no where in the in the left corner. I'm a rank 9 and just had 4 red ranks against the ropes only to watch them all escape cause one magically found a key. I think it's a little unbalanced that even though they didn't complete their objective three of them escaped. Two were DOH one was second phase and the other was dead already. So even though I was doing ok at the least I still get punished? Come on devs I love this game but some one needs to start putting some elbow grease into all the unbalanced bs in this game. And of course it's not just the killer side of things. There needs to be some major changes to both sides. Survs shouldn't get punished with NOED because they did well or facecamped and tunneled because they slapped the killer one time. Or even mori'd cause they got hooked once. It all makes for boring unfun games.
I think there should be an activation time like 10 seconds or so and the killer gets alerted to it being done so if the survivors actually want to use it as an escape they have to protect the key user and if the key user stops at any point it resets the progress

Yeah, well right now, Deathslinger is looking like a worse Huntress.
... Actually no, scratch that. He’s looking like a worse Demogorgon.
Think about it. Shred:
-Has a large, conal hitbox
-Can be used whenever the Demogorgon likes
-Guaranteed to deal one health state of damage on impact
-Can be used to circumnavigate basic attack rules (AKA Shred the obsession with Save the Best for Last to never lose stacks)
-Breaks pallets and walls on collision
-May or may not suffer a smaller movement speed penalty when channeling Shred, and has a brown addon that lets him move faster than a running Survivor while holding Shred
-Demogorgon can also place portals wherever he likes to teleport around the map
-Demogorgon is also a 115 Killer
Meanwhile, Deathslinger’s harpoon:
-Has a smaller, wonkier hitbox
-Has to reload after every single shot
-Even if you land the shot, you’ll still have to reel them in to hit them, else it was all for nothing
-Can’t pull Survivors back over pallets, making it effectively useless against said pallets
-Deathslinger is also a 110 Killer with no mobility
I’m not saying he’s a BAD Killer; I’m just saying, why would I ever play him over Huntress or Demogorgon right now?
Yeah but he’s cool 😎

I feel sorry for those who use that perk. If anything, untrustworthy people are them most of the time. I'm hanging on the hook and I can see the most beautiful of the shows, a survivor who runs away from the killer and 2 idiots who heal themselves in a corner of the map while I die at my first hook because nobody comes to help me or at least tries to put pressure by completing a generator. No, definitely better to heal in a corner with the Mangled Effect and Thanatophobia right? The funniest thing? It often happens in red and purple ranks
Exactly this, when I play killer sloppy butcher is my first perk I want it just screws self care players and punished them heavily and makes the game so much easier.

Let's start with some background.
I play Rocket League in addition to DBD. They have a MMR system.. But it is flawed even in a game where a MMR system should work perfectly.
Perfect example; I was playing doubles (2v2) and my teammate lost connection and left the match less than a minute in. I then had to play a 1v2 match that I held out into overtime (+3.something minutes too) and ultimately lost the match. I STILL WENT DOWN IN DIVISION even though I just played a 1v2 and held it out forever while getting a goal to tie the game in the process.
The point, I had to go through a DC, and play an unfair match, yet I was still forced to go down in division because I lost. (Yes I know I could have forfeited but as I said, I held it out and even scored the goal to tie the match so I knew I was better than both of them combined.)
This got me thinking a bit..
What about DBD? Will it recognize if another survivor DCs? Making the remaining 3 play a now unfair match, just to cause them to lose points if they don't manage to win?
Rocket League has a MMR system that is rock solid in its execution, and it is in a game where an MMR system is designed to work flawlessly. Yet it still has its flaws.
Devs, for the love of god, DO NOT PUT A MMR SYSTEM INTO THE GAME.
There is too much RNG and reliance on teammates for a MMR system to work. Asymetrical games should not have any type of MMR, as they are wildly unpredictable between matches and made to be ASYMETRICAL.
As a killer, did you lose because the infinite in the Ironworks of Misery was open and they ran it on you 20 times in the match? Or did you lose because you are genuinely a bad killer? Did you lose chases because the pallet spawns were giving god-tier pallets to the survivors, or could you not catch them because you were genuinely bad at outplaying loops? Did you face a team running all BT, DS, Adrenaline, and toolboxes? Or did you just get gen rushed because you can't apply map pressure? Did you get a big map as a killer with low mobility? Or did you just not play it right?
Survivors. Did you die because your teammates played immersed all game? Or because you are a bad survivor who can't win chases and keep the killer away from them? Did you fail to get gens done because your teammates would rather self care in the corner over doing the objective? Or did the killer actually put pressure on the gens? Did you get screwed over by dedicated servers through facing a huntress? Or could you not dodge a hatchet? Did your teammates not come to save you? Did you get facecamped? Did you get tunneled?
There are too many variables in the game for a MMR system to properly work. Honestly no MMR system can ever work in ANY asymetrical game because of this reason. Don't think the complaints are in vain because the players just do not want the MMR system, there is valid concern for what it would do to the health of the game.
Devs,
If you truly care about the players and about the future of the game, don't just slap a MMR system into the game and call it your "fix to matchmaking" when in all reality it will just be worse for the game's health, and ultimately worse than the matchmaking we have currently.
Please, properly fix the matchmaking so that we get people into the ranks they belong in and so that the game can be more enjoyable from both sides of play.
Well it depends what the system will count as a “win” do you have to get a certain amount of points? Do you have to escape? As a killer do you have to kill 2 people? 4 people? Will there be multiple levels to it? If you kill 2 survivors that’s a win but if you get the 4K do you earn more mmr for a bigger “win”? Will we ever even know what it take to “win” a game? I don’t like how it’s all hidden I understand that bhvr don’t want to show it not working as intended early on in implementation because it will be rough because everyone will probably start at the same mmr and then after a few weeks and months it’ll get better it’s just a bit ######### we can’t see anything.

Also, slugged Survivors making no injured noises is in the game for over a month now and hasn't even been mentioned by the Devs other than that there are "sound issues", which is a really vague statement.
Could you please give us an update on the situation regarding these two issues?
Thank you in advance!
The hook tech doesn’t even work, I just sit there with them yeah a bit boring but it’s 2 people not doing gens because someone is stupid enough to think this can even be considered “tech”

Hello How is everyone? Have a good day/afternoon/evening. So I was doing the sabo challenge (10 hooks) at Lery's. I wanted to do it in a single match or two at most, because I wanted to move on in the next one. The killer was a doctor, who could barely hook any survivors, when the final gen popped up, he left the match and sent me a message saying that I was being toxic and I apologized, told him that I was just trying to get the challenge done and I didn't intend to make a frustrating experience for him. Was I being toxic? Should I had sabotaged only two or three hooks per match?
I know a lot of players here when it comes to camp/tunnel says "they don't care about your fun, you shouldn't care about their fun" but I don't believe that's a good way to think. I do think that doctor player should had fun instead of a lot of players escaping his grasp because of a lack of hooks. I think they should reduce the number to five or four. What do you think?
I had someone sabo’ing hooks today as I was carrying people to the hooks so once that happened I just dropped the survivor and went after them instead no point letting them break free because I can’t get to another hook let them lie on the floor and someone can save them, it’s a tactic and not toxic at all only maybe it could be if the whole team is doing it as a 4 man to troll but then I guess you just slug everyone and hook them once they are all down 😂

Not all console players play for the controller aspect. Some like PC but have friends on console who don't have pc
True I have pc friends as well, I’m just thinking of it like most games, most of the time (not always) mnk gets some sort of advantage over a controller, mainly aim and sensitivity speed, that’s why there is some aim assist on console, if you had mnk on console would you lose aim assist? Is it fair on controller users? I just think if you’re using mnk play with others using mnk also and same for controller

Well ranks are important. But due to the easy pip system and dreanking issues they get all mixed up. Also swf plays a role here. I think a big topic is the game experience. I also think the old rank reset was better tbh.
Yeah I’d prefer a flat reset back to 20 as well or maybe 17 just so new players don’t get stomped straight away
-
@meatisadelicacy said:
I'd rather not have reset at all, at this point. I didn't play for a couple weeks and reset back to green rank hell. At first I was excited because I thought I'd get faster games. Ive been keeping track. I have died on my first hook in four out of my six games today, and in each of those games, I had at least two fully healed teammates who didn't even try to make the save, and there was no NOED. I'd rather get mori'd - at least it's faster than struggle on hook.
But if there’s no reset what reason do you have for playing? I like ranking up and being challenged, the rift is alright gives me something to do but it’s just too easy to get to high ranks
-
@T2K said:
I think a larger bracket would increase the q times without a proper matchmaking.
Imo the 20 ranks are fine. But the pip system needs some attention.
I’ve not been playing long but in 3 weeks I got to rank one, that shouldn’t be possible tbh I don’t think I’m amazing I don’t know some loops and learnt most of everything else from YouTube getting to rank one that easy is just concerning and now with the “soft reset” more bad players are getting to red ranks, it just feels like red ranks aren’t even important at all anymore
-
@HuntressIsMyFavXD said:
DBD has had support for Controller on PC for the longest time and PC players are sometimes better on controller. But the reverse is true too
On console, we are stuck to controller which is stupid because PC has the option but we don't? Some killers like Nurse or Huntress rely on that ability to flick, making them obsolete on console because of that lacking on controller. PC gamers have the option of Controller, Why doesn't console have the support for Mouse And Keyboard?
No point tbh why be on console if you’re playing mnk? And if they did they would have to have separate servers potentially for controller users and mnk users which doesn’t work if dedicated servers aren’t a thing yet (at least on Xbox it’s not)

I dont know if tou notice, but i'll male it simple, devs balance the game around low rank survivors "fun"
If you go with your skill against potatoes, devs will see that as:"this killer is op on low ranks" ragardless of who is using it.
Tldr: if you dont want more nerfs than wjat we are already having, please stop deranking willingfully.
Hope i made myself clear....
ive deranked a little but I don’t like losing either so I mainly deranked because of challenges in the archive or because the killer was a weaker one, I went down 3 levels trying to get all 4 survivors killed in basement hooks 😂 good old basement insidious trapper.
-
@CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:
So,according to you, what is the definition of the word; toxic?
It could be something simple like, someone camps/sluggs/tunnels
It could be teabagging/flashlight clicking and endlessly looping.
In my case, toxic is the killer that chooses to camp with ebony Mori.
Just had a game,a trapper had Ebony and he was doing a basement build. It was on the Lery's, where your blood could be seen everywhere, so my iron will jukes didn't work out and got hooked in the basement. Then he trapped everything and stayed just barely outside of the basement,so nobody could hear his terror radius on the basement. I got saved, and then the trapper just downed me before I was able to leave the basement, and hooked the unhooker and another survivor he found. Then he slugged me and tried to find the other survivors. Someone kobbied, and proceeded to unhooked and revive me,after the trapper proceeds to kill us all and ebony mori us. Frustrating.
In survivor case, they use their emotes on me and teabag. Again tOxIc
How about you? What is your definition of toxicity? Let me know below.
As killer: if someone is teabagging at pallets or flash light clicking to annoy you
as survivor: if the killer hits you on hook and face camps without provocation. The rest is fair game even if it’s a bit “unfun” at times I don’t mind ebony mori much you just have to play differently and a bit more safe, slugging is fine and tunnelling can be avoided most of the time with DS and borrowed, and if they really want you just waste time so your team can get the gens done, as a killer I do hate toxic survivors and it very often turns me from playing the game to I don’t care any more I’m going to get this one person teabagging at every pallet and just face camp them until they die, don’t be toxic and I won’t either 😂
-
@FriendlyGuerl said:
After the nurse nerf i was like: "Hey, they needed to tune down nurse to be able to fix maps."
No map fix except lery's (was killer favored btw) till today.
Will they face the problem in the future? I doubt.
Nurse can still be really good because thats just the type of killer she is, lerys looks great but it doesn’t seem sided to survivors from what I’ve seen looks damn cool though.

Fellow Killer Players, are you staying with the recent Hex: Ruin changes?
I feel like playing Killer is a chore these days, and the recent rank reset rework doesn't help the case that I am literally trapped in Red Ranks, and going full sweat in more than half of my games gets unfun and boring. Most games I try to meme around and have fun, but when I do generators just go fast and I can't really do much.
The Doctor changes also sound fun, but they really nerfed the Snap out of it mechanic really hard, and also made his detection more strict, as well as the pause after he shocks someone. I can't want to try these changes to see where Doctor is now.
So, are you guys going to adapt or move on to other better games? Maybe try to learn better strategies, or leave Dead by Daylight to die in the dust? Tell me your thoughts about this Mid-Chapter Update.
I play both sides and i will see how it goes but if it gets too bad I’ll probably just run noed and ebony mori for when I’m bored of survivor or want to have a bit of fun/blow off some steam.

Corrupt and Pop are the next best thing. This is a bad change, because most Killers lack EARLY game pressure, not late game.
It is about to get significantly harder to play Killer, in my humble opinion.
Yeah pretty much, against even somewhat decent survivors ruin won’t do anything, I’m probably going to bring ebony moris or just 3 gen most games because with some killers they won’t be able to stop the gens being done anyway...

Now granted, I threw a lot of games trying to complete some of the dumber rift challenges so its (kinda) my fault I got to green rank to begin with. HOWEVER even tho im green all of my teammates and the killer are constantly brown. Im talking 1 perk, DC if theres ruin, farm each other off the hook type survivors. Ive gotten to the point where I message the killer and bet them that they and 3 of the survivors are brown rank. Havent lost a bet yet.
So im in a limbo, I can still survive by getting the hatch or the door after they close the hatch (They for some reason never patrol the doors) but because my teammates stay useless I am also constantly de pipping, probably increasing my chances of being matched with browns since im not too far off from being one. And because I know how every game is going to end I just dgaf most of the time. "Why even play then?" Because I love this game and have 8 days to finish the grindy ass rift. I had 1 game in the last week with other greens and I was reminded how fast gens can get done when more than one person is working on them.
And I see a lot of people complain about the same thing and why they want lobby ranks brought back (I dont really think this is the fix because im not going to dodge lobbies anyway, then again I just killed myself on the hook for the first time so maybe I would, which is toxic so still not a fix) but how is this even possible? How can everyone experience the exact same thing unless theyre purposefully matching one higher rank with a bunch of noobs.
This post is half me bitching but also half me really asking #########? Like EVERY game im matched with only browns? That cant be right
I’m in red ranks and I get clueless teammates that quit on certain maps or killers or il be looping a killer for a good 1/2 mins and no gens get done it’s rough, I’d play the stealth game focus on gens, totems and only save when you can and try not to get chased until you’ve done a gen or 2 so you can pip even with garbage teammates

As in, every killer is ranked by themselves, not as a whole. My Plague could be rank 4, for instance, while my Freddy could be rank 18.
I struggle when it comes to branching out to 'newer' killers that I want to learn, mostly because I'm sitting at high purple rank most of the time. By then, I'm facing, mostly, quality loopers on their way to red ranks. Most every match is a curb stomp, unless I spend a million or two BP on meta perks. Even then, a decent build doesn't equate to knowledge on how the killer works.
I used to try out killers I don't normally play just after rank reset, but now that we only go up one color level, it won't mean much. If each killer had their own ranking, would it be workable, or is the idea just a dud?
its a questionable one tbh, because if you are a good player you’ll destroy low ranks naturally but then again get rekt if you play something new against high ranks, what I do is just accept to loses and depip a lot I went from rank 9 to 14 playing trapper for the challenges then went back to 10 now I’m starting on nurse so I’m back down to 11 so far (just started) I try to stay around the mid ranks just so I can play relaxed and still do ok while I’m grinding levels on the rest of the killers (need those teachables 😅) just try having fun don’t take anything seriously as a kill especially if you’re learning a new one some survivors will even mess around and farm points with you as a win win, separate ranks might screw with the high rank queues even more as well.

I heard rumors about dbd in console. I'm a PC player so I dunno if that's true. So PS4 and Xbox players pls answer this question; Is playing killer on console that bad?
If my information is accurate the killer wait times are 2 seconds and the survivor's is 10 minutes (completely opposite from PC BTW) and u have 89% chance to be against swf. Can someone please verify this information? I would appreciate it.
Generally the killer queue isn’t that bad and is for survivor probably because there are less high rank killers in general (being a killer is stressful tbh) and yeah most likely you will play against swf because it’s that sort of game, it’s just been released on game pass for Xbox too about a month ago so I know a lot of people that got their friends to join them on the game, so survivors 99% of the time have at least 1 other person with them barely anyone plays solo, for me at least if no one is online I’ll play killer unless I need a challenge for the rift.

They have Muffler add-ons but with as loud as it is it makes it very easy for people to loose track of crying survivors of just breathing in general.
Yeah I’ve had that happen to me it’s a real shame when it does happen as well, maybe in chase or a period after hitting a survivor it goes mute for 30 seconds or something as an add on could even mute the revs on next chainsaw as well adds some risk to the survivors
-

How about making his chainsaw like Billy's where it isn't constantly rumbling in your ear.
That could be a quality of life change, at least have an option to turn it off or lower the volume

@Dustin said:
I'm being straight forward with my proposal but here's some basic suggestions. Nothing new here by the way.
- The Cannibal's charge meter now starts his Chainsaw Sweep when full regardless. This means you can no longer lazily hold it in place. However the longer you balance the charge between letting go and filling up the meter the faster the meter will change over time. So if you've held it for 5 seconds it will be incredibly difficult to hold it in place.
- The Cannibal's movement speed is set to 110% while charging his chainsaw
- The Cannibal no longer has a movement speed penalty when cancelling Chainsaw Sweep
- The Cannibal can cancel his Chainsaw Sweep early.
- The Cannibal's Chainsaw Sweep has its duration reset and movement speed increased when downing a survivor.
These do sound good, I like being able to cancel if you’ve clearly missed might as well take the penalty as soon as possible
-
I meant debuff autocorrect screwing me 😅

Lobby dodging isnt a problem. A killer should be able to just bow out and since no match has started theres no harm no foul. Until everyone presses ready in the lobby anyone should be able to leave as they fancy. But leaving once the game has started is lame, and will always be lame
Also, messaging people like you did, in PMs and what not, is also real lame. Just move on to the next game
Yeah I’ve played both sides and when you see all 4 survs with toolboxes I’m just like “I’m good” and dodge, I don’t dodge once the match has started no matter the map or offerings it’s only a game at the end of the day, I do love salty survs though that dc at the start if they get downed but I like to let the last surv get hatch or door to balance it a bit they shouldn’t get punished for the dc then again I’m probably one of the nice killers 😂
