Yeah, its definitely not better than pain resonance but not as garbage as youre making it out to be.
and besides, most people dont even own artist
That's the point though, just another reason why the new player experience sucks.
Buff Jolt so it's a good option for people that just started and don't own DLC or don't have a lot of bloodpoints to get multiple killers to level 40
-
@Clueless said:
The most common reason to use Jolt is lack of options, just like the majority of perks in this game.
Exactly, that's why it needs a buff.
It's the only free gen regression in the game and should be decent so new killers have something nice to use even without DLC.
Survivor is very easy to make a good build with since almost all the good perks aren't DLC, meanwhile killer is AWFUL for new players and requires many DLC's to be playable at a decent MMR
-
He's terrible and not worth playing, just play Huntress or Trickster.
God's speed though if you keep playing him, I love the way he looks and it's a shame what they did to my boy.

Jolt is definitely better then surge I don't know what you guys are on about
Surge is a drink ๐
Jokes on you, Jolt is a drink too.

I didn't say it shouldn't be buffed. At the very least it should lose the basic attack requirement and possibly the cooldown as well, seeing as it is already inherently limited by requiring a second down.
I still think it's a solid perk. It has lower regression because it hits multiple gens at once, meaning it only needs to hit 2 to be more value than Pain Resonance.
It's a good perk in a 3 gen situation because every down can regress multiple gens.
The biggest reason I run it is if I'm using a killer like Deathslinger who is slow and has less map pressure, so being able to have gens regressing without taking the time to kick them is a big advantage, especially since if you find someone on a gen with him you want to shoot at them, not walk all the way up to the gen and kick it before chasing, giving them a huge head start.
I'm fine with it being only for M1 killers if they make it strong enough, though opening it up to more killers would help new players that want to play Huntress.
I just want the perk to be better, even if they increased the regression a little or made it consistently hit more than 1 gen. The main thing I really want to see is the regression brought up to 10 and increase the range.
-
@ShinobuSK said:
I would respond seriously but since you calling it "Jolt" , your whole post lost credibility
Fair, Jolt's a pretty garbage name in comparison to surge.
-
You are obviously new so I'll be nice, but no.
I rarely run into face camping bubbas, most play the game normally until all gens are done then facecamp to secure the 1-2k.
Bubba is a very fair/balanced killer that only shits on lower tier players that don't know how to abuse windows, use lockers, and connect loops.
-
@RainehDaze said:
Really, I just wish the CD was lower and it was "nearest gen that has progress". It ends up in deadzones or not-yet-touched areas way too often.
Yup, the range is tiny and survivors with half a brain bring you to deadzones anyway dragging you away from the objective.
There are just so many downsides/restrictions to this perk yet it gives 8% regression. How anyone can think this doesn't deserve a buff is beyond me.
-
@anarchy753 said:
I don't know what you're on about with this "It doesn't even hit 1 gen" nonsense. It regularly hits multiple gens.
The chance that it doesn't hit a single gen is about the same that you can't reach a scourge hook.
I've had multiple games using that garbage perk where it's hit no gens when I down people.
Again, even if it does go off thats 8% regression which is complete trash.
So it's 8% regression, can only be done by M1's, has a cooldown for whatever reason and it's range is tiny.
I'd love to have you find me a game where you get multiple gens explode since most maps are the size of Texas in this game.
Again the perk is just garbage compared to other gen regression perks, stop defending it and get the perk the buffs it deserves so new players can have fun too.
-
Circle of healing should of just never existed tbh, it's a balance nightmare giving a team wide heal when healing is so strong in this game completely ruining certain killers.
Shadow step is annoying but I feel it's overall fair.
-
The map is extremely survivor sided and anyone that says otherwise isn't logical.
A lot of streamers agree, even a lot of survivor players... It isn't hard to see the map is survivor sided since the main building is nuts and so many loops/pallets connect to each other.
-
Yeah I've experienced this as well, luckily I went into the game wanting to lose to play nice for Christmas but he's 100% not working in this event.
He can't stalk snowmen
He loses his exposed when they hop into snowmen
Since he's an M1 killer he'll have to hit them 3 or more times depending on how many snowmen they find
Completely unplayable
Myers feels pretty bad to play as well though, can't stalk snowmen and having to hit people over and over again in snowmen even though you are in tier 3 feels ######### awful especially since you are on a timer with tier 3.
-
@DangerScouse said:
The event is an excellent vacuous distraction tactic to divert people's attention away from how far the game has fallen. And all the sheeples lapped it up so predictably ๐๐
I mean the event was a good concept, it just needed more to it to give something for both sides to have fun with.
It won't change my opinion on how ######### the current state of the game is though, I haven't played other than last night AFKing games to give people snowman escapes because I thought that was how people got their items at the time, didn't realize you could just pop them. lol
They should really give something for escaping as a snowman though, next time.

Buffs and nerfs should be happening all the time to killers, perks and addons to balance the game. I'm okay with nerfs to killers/perks/addons that are ACTUALLY overperforming, problem is Deathslinger wasn't overperforming AT ALL...His kill rate wasn't high, his rank on tier lists weren't high, there was no reason to nerf him AT ALL other than people's dislike for him and even then they could of gave him SOMETHING in return but didn't.
So yeah their balance team sucks. Where are my Myers buffs? Where are the Ghostface buffs? Legion buffs? Clown buffs?
When I say buffs I mean something that ACTUALLY makes them better, not just addon changes. Fix bad killer's base kits to make them more competitive. There are so many TERRIBLE killer characters in the game that could use love but never do.
The best recent killer change that was actually good was Trapper's buffs but even he could still use more love, give him another mechanic to use or something.
I dunno, it's the same thing in a lot of games.. My main game is League of Legends and sadly the top tier characters almost always stay top tier for years, the meta rarely changes and it's the same in DBD...Same killers have been top tier for ages, same killers have been garbage for years, etc.
-
I actually like RPD, I just want the map to be reworked/fixed
Sadly this is BHVR though and they are terrible at fixing map (maps almost always way too huge with 2w949294 god pallets and god loops that only get fixed with a breakable wall)
-
That Deathslinger is "barely nerfed" when they murdered him with 3 hard nerfs in one patch lmao.
The hate for this killer is so strong they are just okay with him being butchered.
-
Also yeah I loved the pumpkins a lot, gave both sides something fun. Really curious why they gave 0 interaction with snowmen for killers when the pumpkin one was great for both sides.
-
@StarLost said:
Yes and no.
I love the idea of the event, but you are correct that the snowmen shouldn't be a mobile locker for survivors that messes with powers.
A lot of this sounds like bugs, which...yeah, it's not like that's happened before.
- Yes, that's totally busted.
- Ditto.
- Eh, this would allow you to spot survivors in snowmen too easily when they are using them for camoflage.
- Yes, not using any DW addons/killers until the event ends for this reason. Was...this even tested?
- I'm okay with this, definitely not gamebreaking and is offset by gaining stacks from other people in snowmen even though you aren't injuring.
The major issue though isn't so much the bugs/exploits but the fact that killers get zero new tools for the event while survivors get such a strong one. At least the pumpkins benefit both sides.
I was just thinking maybe reward the killer for popping snowmen, as in rewards in that match.
So for every 2 or 3 snowmen you pop that has a survivor in it, as a snowman zombie on the map that helps the killer...Just give it Nemesis's zombie AI and have it waddle around.
I dunno, just an idea but they really need to do something for killers next time around. It's not so much that snowmen are unfair (they are), but that the killers didn't get anything silly/OP to play with as well... Killers just watch survivors have fun at their expense for the event, sadly.
Again I love the snowmen and hope they bring them back, but next time around think about the killers too and give them a silly toy to play with.
-
Killers should of got their own toy to play with and there would be less complaining.
It's understand for killer mains to be upset that survivors have a fun event while killers basically just kind of watch and sometimes griefed by it.
But yes I hope they do it again next year with more content added for BOTH sides and fixes to snowmen so they aren't broken against certain killers like Twins, Ghostface, etc.
-
The context of a word can change over time, it definitely means "try hard" these days for the most part.

About jolt, what bothers me more is the fact that special attacks doesn't proc it; i don't really mind the cooldown on that one. Oppression, definitely have too much of a cooldown (80 seconds; such bs). I think they need a cooldown cause it could be abusable, but a short one (30 seconds should be baseline i agree).
I wish Jolt had more range tbh
Half the time it doesn't even hit a gen because it's range is so short
-
A lot of killer perks cooldowns are way too long, sadly that's why they aren't used. The perks usually aren't too bad but the cooldowns don't match the power of the perk.
-
What they need to do is fix the flashlight macro
-
I agree, but I doubt it happens.
So many worthless perks.
So much unhealthy gameplay.
So many huge blatant imbalances.
It's getting to the point I'm actually playing League of Legends again because Dead by Daylight sucks this bad.
-
Anyone who doesn't think this perk isn't broken is either abusing it or delusional. It's so disgustingly overpowered and bad for the game, the fact it hasn't been addressed yet is honestly pretty disappointing by the devs.
-
@Impartiality said:
Ah yes because there arenโt loads of things in the game that makes the kill rate a lot lower than they should be.
Nope, you can clearly only see things that benefit survivors with that tunnel vision
How often do you see a killer throw a match in comparison to someone literally killing themselves on first hook? lmao
Be real, you know it's true.
Killer's kill rates are super inflated due to baby cry baby survivors killing themselves or trolling due to challenges.
-
All the while you are doing these challenges you also get people rage quitting and kill themselves on hook on first hook
Like Jesus, it's no wonder why kill rates are so inflated
-
Pretty much all the best perks for survivor are free accept broken ass boons and a few others, very easy to play survivor without any DLC
For killer though? 100% agree if you don't own DLC you either wait for perks to show up in the shrine of secrets or you might as well not que unless you are playing against low MMR.
Best killer perks:
Ruin - Hag DLC (Deadlock build is better/more reliable tbh, but still really strong)
Undying - Blight DLC
Pop - Clown DLC (Decent gen regression for backup plan)
Bambozzle - Clown DLC (Need for Myers/Leatherface/etc)
Save the Best for Last - Myers DLC
Deadlock - Cenobite DLC (Taking over the Meta)
Hex Plaything - Cenobite DLC (Really strong)
Corrupt Intervention - Plague DLC (Pretty much must have in the Meta)
No Way Out - Trickster DLC (Really strong in the Meta)
-
Would of been okay if it was just not so massive.
I can't imagine trying to play Trapper on this map though, like... Where do you even hide your traps? Lmao
-
The maps just too big, it's my only real complaint.
The size of the map is so massive bad players can just hold w and put you on a long chase.
And if you don't commit? They heal with boons.
-
Well don't worry Wraith is C or D tier now with the Wraith nerfs and Boon totems.
Hit and run is Dead, the moment you hit them they run to a boon to heal.w
His lunge is really short now.
-
You can nerf/rework Nurse when the game isn't a broken mess in the survivors favor.
Start by rebalancing maps, make them smaller and make the House of Pain not absolutely disgustingly OP.
Less God Pallets.
Make maps not the size of Texas.
-
The perk is fine
Using 1/4 perks just to make you not have overpowered items isn't exactly OP.
-
It makes the game unplayably bad for M1 killers
Playing Wraith just sucks when they have 2 boons on the field... You use to have to worry about just medkits, but at least those run out... Circle of Healing is forever.
If you can't insta down or commit to a down and they have boons the game is just lost.
-
You can blame MMR all you want but all it does it show the glaring issues with the game
It's not MMR, the game is just poorly balanced.

I was arguing with the fact that you stated that survivor q times take a lot, when that's not really true.
Re-read it, and you're still wrong.
If you want to back up your argument, at least use factual evidence, not just something you pulled out of "killer good survivor bad".
Might want to check your reading comprehension and look at the exact response to me jerking off EU players and being ethnocentric.
Grow up if you actually think this way, child.

Survivor Queues right now for me are instant even with crossplay off.
Maybe EU killers are just better at the game and don't care much about boons.
Yeah that's totally it.
Crawl back in your hole survivor main
-
The game is just not fun to play right now as killer, do yourself and the community a favor and take a break till they nerf boon totems and actually balance their game.
They won't fix their game if people are playing and paying.
Killer ques are instant right now, survivor ques take like 10 minutes, just keep those times going up and survivors will eventually have to be nerfed. Que up survivor only, only do your dailies as killer and then that's it.
-
Yes, let's just keep nerfing killers till survivor ques are 20 minutes long
-
Loads up game
Instantly hears 2 boons go off
Doesn't que for another
If you think it's "just MMR" you are clearly blind to how unfun the game is right now as a killer.
My killer ques are literally instant, that says a lot.
-
Game is hilarously survivor sided, if you play you just have to accept it or move on the Devs don't care...Sadly.
-
Had steam for years, didn't know this and never seen it before so I have no reason to know it tbh
Was just making sure
-
Ahhh, gotcha.
Didn't know there was scheduled maintance, was just making sure I wasn't DDOS'd
Again was happy to get out of that game, wasn't trying to play against sweaty 4 man SWF clickers anway
-
I'm questioning if I got DDoS'd because it didn't happen till right after I downed someone and was going to camp them as Bubba
-
Old system was much better at judging skill, it took into account everything, not just living which is the worst way to judge if a survivor is good or not.
-
So they want to embrace the chaos but at the same time they nerfed Deathslinger into the ground
Okay
-
Does he need buffs? 100%
But he's not unplayable bad, he's just very addon and perk reliant.
Personally I think they need to remove tier 2 and just make 2 tiers for Myers....Super stealthy Myers and 1 shot mad lad running through windows super fast Myers. Tier 2 Myers is boring. That or they need to buff Tier 2 Myers to do something special because being a M1 killer only is pretty bad.
You are new to the game though so 100% agree you should probably not play Myers because you won't have good perks for him. However Myers does have 2 very strong perks that just aren't very strong on him....Save the Best for Last is really good on a few killers. Also play with your food is pretty decent and actually not that bad on Myers when used with Tier 3 Myers.
The main perk you want as a Myers player though is Bambozzle so you can block windows so people don't perma vault against you, it also makes you go super fast though windows when you are Tier 3.....Bambozzle is a clown perk.
Congrats on learning Billy though
-
You know what would of been a better nerf? No nerf at all because he wasn't overpowered.
Spirit getting a nerf made sense, she was a top 3 killer... Deathslinger and Wraith getting a nerf is a joke and make this games balance laughable.
-
I play both sides and if you can't understand why killers need to camp sometimes you obviously don't play enough killer.
It's like when people wait till the last second to unhook someone and then call me a camper when I don't give them the free unhook when they had 22242o4o42o years to come over and unhook but they choose to use that time to rush gens
-
I'd honestly say start with Clown and Leatherface simply because their perks are so good to unlock them on killers you actually want to play, but Hell get Pyramid head if you really want him...He is pretty fun
