  • Balanced if not more on the weak side

His M2 is really really easy to dodge and fake.

He's not bad though, an okay killer and as a survivor fun to play against.

  • Yup, by the time you hook your first survivor 2 to 3 gens can pop.

Who needs wthat noise? Down that little ######### and go slug his friends instead.

  • "Talentless losers"

I can see why you are face camped lmao

I would face camp you too if you played how you sound.

  • You don't want B and C tier killers brought up to higher tier killer levels, so I guess you want everyone to play those killers?

  • Honestly the average age is probably like 18-24?

I doubt it's much younger than that tbh, lots of older people play DBD

  • For one they don't have to be brought up to the same level, just closer to it instead of being C tier garbage.

But hey you are right, everyone should just play Nurse/Blight every single game and just slug. That's what you want, right?

  • Never played her, probably never will. Just never was interested in her tbh.

Not my kind of aesthetic... I play killers a lot for how much I like their look/feel. Doctor, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Wraith, Trapper..Sadly most of my mains have been nerfed into C tier garbage so i been picking up Blight and Leatherface lately.

  • A win for me use to be how many hooks I could get, I never really cared too much about kills other than killing the toxic douche bags.

Hard to play for hooks these days though, sadly.

Yeah, BHVR are slow, we know this. Not sure where you're getting the idea that they're survivor biased from this- just because they did Mori's first, I guess?

Because they waited to do survivor's keys for over a year? A small change that took very little time to fix? Do you really think these key changes were hard to put into the game?

Also Mori's were nerfed unannounced so Killers didn't get to use them up before they were nerfed, keys however got to be used up a whole month prior to their nerf since they announced it.

    So yeah, extremely biased.

Now, bear with me because I will admit to joining the game around the time moris were nerfed so I don't have any firsthand experience with them, but... my understanding is that they just let you kill someone when you downed them after they've been hooked only once, and that's not strong, that's busted. There's no way to justify something like that being in the game, that's not a case of being "survivor sided" to change that.

The point of bringing a Mori is style points. It's a fun animation and it's fun to kill them outright instead of hooking them, it's satisfying. Moris weren't ruined, they were repurposed, same as keys- though killers got the better end of the deal there since Moris are a way more fun mechanic than keys lmao

    Mori's were busted.

    Keys were busted.

Yet keys were allowed to stay in the game a whole year afte Mori nerfs.

Yeah, balance team def not survivor biased.

  • @SMitchell8 said:

You make a good point regarding nurfs not being fun for you (killers) so why should you worry about fun for your opponents. I do agree.

Unless something is broken, there's no need to fix it. They ruined Billy and Deathslinger for no reason at all, fixing for the sake of it. It's like scalped topknot, nobody moaned about it, its not broken, yet they halved it, but why? No gain nurfing addons apart from just annoying players that enjoy them.

People support the Deathslinger nerf even though they know it kills the character, so they obviously don't care about the Killers fun only their own. So yeah, give them what they want. Play meta killers and slug them to Death.

Yikes to what? Just stating that ignoring the loads of buffs killer got and then saying the devs don't care about killers is silly, killers most definitely got the better side of the coin flip here lol

Killers had to wait a whole year for keys to be nerfed, while moris were nerfed without warning....Meanwhile survivors had a month to use their keys after being announced. So being happy with key nerfs is pretty funny considering the change was so easy they could of did it at the same time as Mori's shows how survivor sided this game is.

Wraith and Deathslinger nerfs were hilarous and if you think they are deserved I want what you are smoking especially since Slinger got 3 straight nerfs without any compensation. They nerfed his terror raidus. They nerfed his ability to quickscope. They nerfed his ability to fake shots. All 3 in one patch without a single compensation buff. Meanwhile both Wraith and Deathslinger were both only B tier killers even before the nerf. Shows how bad the balance team is in this game tbh.

Pig is arguably worse since they removed her most powerful addon's, her new addon's (starting with a trap on your head) are for memeing at best. They also broke her traps so they actually weren't working maybe still not working? Not sure if this was fixed yet but people were leaving matches with their traps still active on their head.

Trapper buff was nice though it's kinda pathetic how long it took them to even do something as simple as giving him brown bag as basekit...Something people been asking for since forever. He does have a few fun little addon's now though so I appreciate these changes.

If they only nerfed Spirit and buffed lower tier killers the patch would of been better. Other killers need to be brought closer to Nurse/Blight/Spirit level, not brought down from B tier to C tier. I'm down for S tier picks seeing nerfs just like any game, but triple nerfing a B tier killer in one patch is just embarrassing.

I've been a killer main for about 4 years and this last update was one of the best ones. If you think they are laughing at killers then THAT is laughable. I now literally never have to worry about keys again. Trapper is EXPONENTIALLY better. Spirit actually feels fairer. Ghostface doesn't desperately need two cooldown addons anymore, actually, the whole cast now can see what their addons actually do. Pig also got better addons, and once again 3 man hatch escapes can't happen. Deathslinger nerf was more than earned. Not saying he didn't also need a buff, he most definitely needed a buff to go alongside the nerf, but the nerf was most definitely needed and it didn't destroy him, he can still win chases.

    Yikes.

  • @Mr_K said:

Best part you don't have to kill them. The salt does it for you!

Yup, had a game last night where I let all 4 escape and they still raged after the game.

I learned my lesson, let them bleed out next time. XD

  • I use to main deathslinger so I feel you... They destoryed my fun even though my killer was only considered B tier. People whine about counterplay meanwhile Deathslinger has always been a worse Huntress.... Limited range, the chain can break before you even get your hit, pre dropping pallets denies a down and shots have to be more accurate with Deathslinger.

So yeah I'm not playing him anymore, he's terrible. Just play meta or basically quit the game is what this game has turning into...Nerfing Wraith and Deathslinger was such a joke for balance.

I just been 4 man slugging with Leatherface lately for my own fun.

So what you're saying is that you're low MMR. Because on high MMR all you see are those killers.

Yes, survivor in low MMR is easy yes.

So what you are saying is you are bad and can't survive against higher tier killers like Nurse, Blight, Spirit and have to play against low tier easy to loop killers to increase your inflated ego.

Yes, High MMR survivor is also easy. Just not for you apparently.

  • Honestly I could careless about survivor perks being nerfed, I want smaller map sizes and an actual reason to kick gens when I don't have pop.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2536367#Comment_2536367

Yes that is only 16%, but it doesn't even require you to kick a gen to get its effects. You're literally just downing survivors which you have to do anyway so you're not going out of your way to "earn" it.

Pop has greater limitations imo. You need to find and kick a gen after every hook.

Thats time to find the gen, time to kick the gen, time to then find and chase a survivor again. You might not have a gen to kick, and what gen you do find might have less than 25% progress anyway.

Surge works through regression, so it applies it's 8% to gens that are already regressing. Plus it still gets its full effect when the gen only has say 10% repair on it. And you don't need to break chase to go find and kick a gen.

But tell me, if it always hit 2 gens would that be overpowered? Or at least hit 2 gens more often?

Currently it almost never happens, so why shouldn't the range on surge not be buffed? It needs number changes to make it actually worth using because again half the time it doesn't even hit a gen. 32 m isn't that big of an area especially for something with so little impact and such a long cooldown.

  • @lemonsway said:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1eF2XrDsqk

Here, this is NERFED Slinger. You tell me this is a horrible killer and Huntress is better than this.

Yeah dude, just so OP just requires 2 iridescent add on's, no problem.

Not even going to watch this, but I get you are just trying to promote yourself so whatever.

  • @lemonsway said:

He will counter shift W while ADSing and can shoot faster than survivors can react but he is screwed? He is just obeying the same laws as Huntress, now he has delay on using power and canceling power. Insta ADs and Insta cancel was not good for the game. You can debate his TR change but just put M&A and you're back on 24 meters so...

Deathslinger can't down you over walls/pallets.

Deathslinger can't hurt you over 18m away, so no long distance shots.

Deathslinger has to reload every time he misses.

Deathslinger can be blocked by teammates when dragging someone in taking the hit.

Deathslinger's chain can break so even when it huts it doesn't mean you will get the down.

Deathslinger's harpoon has a smaller hitbox so it's easier to miss than the truck sized Huntress.

But yeah, let's make sure he plays by the same rules as Huntress and just completely ruin him. Balanced.

I play a lot of killer and I like most of the changes from this patch.

Anything to shake up the meta and the way people play is good IMO. I’ll be happy to face a team of boon totem warriors just as I’m happy to face a team of flashlight warriors. Either option is more fun than the prospect of a team of gen warriors.

Plus, some of my favourite killers to play got some nice buffs, changes and QoL improvements and they nerfed the cheesability of hatch/keys so I’m very happy. I hope they release even more patches like this. :)

Who exactly was buffed other than Michael Myers and Trapper? Who are still going to be low tier btw.

Pig got overall nerfed, removed her best addons and replaced it with a meme addon.

    Deathslinger got heavy nerfed.

Spirit was nerfed but wasn't nearly as heavy as Deathslinger so it won't be changing up any killer meta...You are still only going to see Nurse, Spirit and Blight at higher MMR.

    Wraith got nerfed, lol.

Unless I'm missing something it was overall mostly nerfs to killers

Keys should of been nerfed a year ago with Mori's so I don't know how you can be "happy" about something they should of did forever ago. it wasn't like it was a hard change, they just didn't do it for whatever reason.

Also these "boon warriors" will still be doing gens. The people who actually know how to use the heal boons are going to set them up nearby gens and not at them, rush the gens, run away to the boons once you drop chase, heal and go right back to the gen. If anything it's going to help them rush you especially if they are stupid and 3 gen themselves.

  • Solo survivor has never been easier with MMR

I don't even know how survivors can complain right now, the game is boring easy for survivor unless you are against a top tier killer like Nurse, Blight, Spirit played by a good player.

Let me just say, I hate Nurse. I think she is a stupid character that breaks the game but because the game is so broken towards survivors it's fair she exists right now at least till one day over the rainbow the game isn't horribly survivor sided.

All you need is an endurance perk and maybe burrowed time if you don't want to be a ######### teammate... That's it. Everything else doesn't really matter.

  • The problem you have here is you are asking EVERYTHING from killer without even giving almost anything back. This isn't how you balance a game, you think of the whole picture with changes like this and not just the half the screws over one side.

Make maps smaller to make the game more fair for non-mobile killers then nerf top tier killers like Nurse so they don't completely ######### on the new much smaller maps.

  • @anarchy753 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2536358#Comment_2536358

8% on each gen. That stacks up when it isn't just hitting a single gen.

Again, it barely happens and for something that barely happens it's not even a big deal. So either keep it at 8% and increase the range or make higher regression.

It should be hitting more than 1 gen more often, currently you are more likely to hit 0 gens than 2.

  • @Seraphor said:

Surge isn't that weak. It has a much easier activation than Pop, and that fact that it can hit multiple gens means that 8% isn't too bad. You could potentially hit 3 gens at once and get 24% regression and not go out of your way at all (downing a survivor is afterall your main objective).

24% regression, 40s cooldown, easy activation. Sounds better than Pop in that sense.

Of course the downside is the RNG, you might hit 3 gens, you might only hit 1, you might not hit any. (Then again you might not get a chance to use Pop after every hook either.)

Increasing the range to 48m: On certain maps you might now be able to hit 4 or even 5 gens. Thats OP.

Increasing regression to 10/15%: Now it can inflict 30/45% regression on a 3 gen! Combined with the range increase thats 50/75%!

Lowering the cooldown: Great, now you can slug, down 2 or 3 survivors in a short space of time, and inflict 48% or 72% regression, for doing nothing more than your main objective. Combined with the other buffs that could be as much as 225%!

The only buffs I would give to Surge are:.

    1. Procs on Basic and Special attacks.

    2. Guaranteed to hit the closest gen even if it's out of range.

Even if it somehow hits 2 gens which almost never happens because the range isn't very big, that's only 16% regression which is still lower than pop. If it was constantly hitting 2 gens, maybe it would be worth but it almost never does and even when it does it's not that big of a deal since it's just 8%. A 40 second cooldown is so laughably bad for how weak this perk is.

  • @anarchy753 said:

The only buff it needs is trigger on downs, not M1 downs. It's severely limited as to which killers can bring it because attempting to use it on anyone with a decent chase power just means losing value in a chase to try to trigger a gen kick.

Nah it def needs more than that, 8% on a 40 second cooldown is laughably bad.

  • @SirGando said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2536342#Comment_2536342

no, even alot of killer mains like it. I mean, look at popular DBD streamers and what they have to say to it. These people influence the playerbase alot.

They do but not nearly as much as you think, it just seems that way.

There are plenty of people who are really upset with these changes.

I don't even main killer and these changes are just garbage. I don't know why survivors would like these changes, the game is already too damn easy as survivor, even solo que survivor is easy especially thanks to MMR.

  • Only good thing coming in the patch is nerfs to keys and that should of happened like what, a year ago? You know, when Mori's were nerfed. Apparently it took them this long to realize how to nerf keys even though it's the most easy fix ever. Basically they just didn't actually want to nerf keys and wanted to give the middle finger to killers.

Meanwhile we got HARD nerfs to Deathslinger who isn't even a top tier killer. Nerfs to Spirit and even though she is considered way stronger than Deathslinger, somehow she wasn't nerfed nearly as hard because they pulled back one of her nerfs. Pig's "OP addons" were nerfed, because obviously we needed to nerf those and replace them with more meme add on's. Random nerfs to Wraith because sure why not?

But hey let's also give another objective to killers because being killer is just too easy right now, right?

Seriously, apparently all this garbage was the only way they were going to nerf keys for killers...by nerfing everything else for killer....oddly enough mid to low tier killers. But hey, let's nerf them and not the other top tier killer, Nurse.

Also remember when they said they were going to fix Haddonfield and RPD? xD

We lose Hawkins, one of the few good killer maps and get to keep the garbage heavily survivor sided maps that should be disabled till they are balanced/fixed. Woo

  • @konchok said:

Does Surge really need buffs, I always thought that it was a perk that was above average and has amazing synergy with Pop and Ruin. Do we really need to buff something that already pairs well with the meta perks.

    Yes it "really needs buffs"

I don't know how else to spell this out to you, the perk sucks and there is a reason only hipsters use it.

8% regression, that's pretty much nothing and for that I could of gotten a pop.

40 second cooldown, are you joking?

Sometimes doesn't even hit a generator because the range is not that big, 32 meters.

This perk needs love, stop defending a bad perk and let perks get buffed like Oppression, Trail of Torment, etc.... They are perks that could easily be fixed with number changes.

  • Devs are extremely survivor sided and you'd have to be pretty blind to think otherwise.

I play more survivor than killer but I play both sides, Killer you have to work so much harder than even solo survivor.

(All i play is solo survivor so don't give me that garbage that killer is easier than solo survivor lmao)

Unless you are playing hard meta killers you have the game heavily stacked against you...Meanwhile survivor you can do meme builds and still be chilling.

  • @konchok said:

Does Surge really need buffs, I always thought that it was a perk that was above average and has amazing synergy with Pop and Ruin. Do we really need to buff something that already pairs well with the meta perks.

In what world have you even seen people use surge? Do you use surge? I sure as Hell don't

What about what I wrote sounds "amazing"? I gave you all the information you need to see surge is just not cutting it.

    8% regression is amazing?

a 40 second cooldown on a 8% regression is amazing?

Only having a range of 32 meters is amazing? Sometimes it won't even hit a gen.

Stop defending a perks viability and let bad perks get buffed so they actually get used

  • I don't want maps removed, but I agree some of these HEAVILY survivor sided maps should be kill switched until they are reworked like we were promised.

We are already losing one of the few more killer sided maps (Hawkins) so we have one less map that isn't a complete survivor sided mess.

I like the way RPD and Haddonfield look but you'd have to be pretty bias to think these maps are fair for killer.

Make RPD small, cut the fat.

    Make Haddonfield not a joke.

  • Because we been waiting for key nerfs for like, what? A year now? And when we finally get it they come with horrible changes.

How can people be excited for key nerfs when they should of already happened a year ago? It's not like these changes were hard to put into the game, why did they wait this long when Mori's were instantly nerfed?

Just because you gave us something we should of gotten a year ago, doesn't mean I am going to pat you on the back especailly when you try to slip in even more objectives for the killer while also nerfing killers that don't even need nerfs.

I'm not sure if you meant nerf or buff with the Demo thing because it was most definitely a buff. But I think that instead of just nerfing or buffing gens I would say to add more objectives in relation to the nerfs which would make games longer and more interesting IMO.

They nerfed Demo's best add on and then gave very little back. The speed through tunnels is okay, but not worth losing Rat Liver over.

  • Imagine thinking Freddy was OP lol.

I can understand people complaining about Nurse and I guess spirit but Freddy is only "annoying" because he forces you to play the game and not just gen rush and leave.

  • I could understand nerfing top tier killers like Nurse and Spirit if they were addressing the issues with the game like Gen speed, but here we are nerfing Demogorgon LOL....Also a Freddy nerf which again would make sense since it was a nerf to his slowdown, yet here we are in a meta where people gen rush and are done a game in around 5 minutes but lets nerf the one killer that forces you to stay longer.

Freddy nerfs better have gen speed nerfs followed behind is all I have to say.

You'd have to be super biased not to think Gen speeds are absolutely ridiculous right now. I black pip so much as survivor because games are just too damn short.

  • Imagine thinking BBQ is overpowered, the perk isn't that good. I never use it, literally ever.

Then again I don't play OP nurse.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

I can understand survivor frustrations when facing a tunneling killer. I do.

But by having DS as base, this would allow the usual DS/Iron Will/Dead Hard/Borrowed Time SWF crews to run another perk.

Yeah. I can imagine the fun.

But those people can't heal or do gens or anything with current DS, so is it really that scary?
