  • RNG cuts both ways. I don't think it is a call for nerfing pallets.

  • Its actually not guaranteed. I think it says "greatly increases" your chances of getting the map in game. That being said I played in a match the other day where there was 4 different map offerings and none of them were the map we played on. Just for transparency sake I will say I only bring map offerings so I don't get Autohaven or MacMillian for the 10th million time.

  • Very impressive. I am a stat nerd so I appreciate your passion and the work involved in doing this.

  • You cannot force people to stay in games they do not want to be in.

Some people have kids, jobs, responsibilities. Unexpected things come up, it is called life. Those don't just go away because someone is playing DBD.

What is it you always say? "Its a you problem". Learn to listen to your own advice.

It's ironic that some people would consider this to be....... crying.

The fact that their data since the patch shows people are running self-care, shows that putting on a challenge that REQUIRES a single perk for you to escape with, will inflate that perk's usage lmfao

They have already stated on other threads that regions OUTSIDE of the US use Self Care, like all the time. That is why the pick % for Self Care is so high.

Solo queue needs Kindred to be basekit. Other than that, there's nothing BHVR can do to change the fact that the average player doesn't even want to win and would instead rather swarm the killer at all times.

    Really dude? Wow.

  • Do I need to have an explanation with you about how statistics work?

  • I don't even believe these stats. They are cherry picking the statistics because they know they will get huge backlash if they released the true numbers.

  • Clean your PS 4 fan and heat sink from all the accumulated dust and replace the thermal paste. The paste gets hard and dry and loses its effectiveness fairly quick. Theres a ton of Youtube videos on how to do it. You will need 1 or 2 special tools which can be found on Amazon for pretty cheap. This will take care of that problem.

I hate when in a game where the killer's job is to kill me.... he kills me.

    So unfair. Fix when?!

Its a game not a "job". Try again.

  • I usually start out the match on killer at full throttle due to PTSD from good SWF's. If I am stomping them or people are just giving up I usually just start screwing around and letting them do objectives and escape. I have no ego when it comes to killer and just trying to balance out all the sweat lord killers who play like every match like its game 7 of the DBD World Championships.

  • My Nea is about 19-20 I think.

But now that Queen Ada is in the game, she Is rising fast.

It's really not. Gens still pop solo in 50 seconds. The difference is survivors can walk in with no add-ons or perks and easily win now.

So back up your statement and show us some gameplay.

  • In solo queue the term "team" is used far too loosely by the DEVS. Solo queue has no way of communicating or any way at all to coordinate efficiently against killers. Pretty sure this is intentional, in 6 years they haven't bothered to address this.

I don’t think you understand my point. Being toxic to people because they tunneled/camped/etc is unacceptable. It is a strategy accepted and balanced around by devs, whether you like it or not. Take it up with devs if you have an issue, not players. The in-game built in counter to camping and tunneling is pressuring gens and splitting up.

You're splitting hairs. You're telling me not to be bothered by scummy tactics used by killer just to ensure their precious 4k just because BHVR said its ok. I don't care how many times BHVR or Killer mains say it is. It isn't.

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3176453#Comment_3176453

It is just playing the game. It’s an accepted part of the game and a strategy the devs balance this game around. Being toxic cause people use strategies is utterly stupid and indefensible.

I will ask you the same thing I ask BHVR in their Player satisfaction surveys. Do you think that players play this game just to get tunneled and face camped all the time? The fact that BHVR chooses to not only ignore it but to then encourage it by calling it " A legit strategy " is counterproductive to the health of the game. The game needs to be fair and balanced for all players, not just killers.

  • People really hated that event? I thought it was fun and different. I even got some sweaty killers to let down their guard a little bit and have some fun with it all.

  • I had a daily with spirit and within a few minutes the survivors had 4 of the gens done. It happens, some teams will just try to gen rush you for the entire game. I just went to the gate and waited for them to do the last one and opened it and went on to the next match.

  • The amount of gas lighting on these forums by killers is absolutely mind numbing.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Add to that how escaping now rewards 7k BP, and it's a recipe for disaster. I watched a teammate today do nothing but locker hop. After everyone else was dead, this survivor was still alive with about 1,000 Bloodpoints. They escaped through the hatch and their score jumped to over 10k.

Why participate or help your team when you can do nothing and profit?

BHVR does not think things through.

Yes Ive been noticing this as well lately. IDK what to think of this, if its a newer player of course I will cut them slack for it, but Ive seen people do it with full max level perks doing it. I had a teammate who died in EGC with less than 5k BP. I cannot fathom what they were doing for the 15-20 minute sweat fest I endured.

Camping and Tunneling don't suddenly become less legit tactics just because there's one less survivor in the trial.

And killer mains still can't figure out why people are DCing and killing themselves on hook.

  • Tunneling and Facecamping are not healthy for the game either. Just saying.

  • Im not a killer main but always respect and appreciate it when killers dole out some justice/karma to deserving survivors. I have seen killers go out of their way to make sure that cheaters/hackers dont just get off scot free. Also I had a 2 man SWF that kept messing with me the other day during a match, trying to body block me, intentionally making noise to get the killer on me. However the BingBong I was going against realized this abut 1/2 way through the match and slugged them both and hooked them one at a time while face camping them and constantly hitting them on hook. He also let me and the other random go. Wish I could have sent them a message letting them know how much I respected them for doing that, they certainly didn't have too.

  • Anyone who Is better than me at the game is hacking.

If i got it right it now gives the unhooked survivor 20 seconds of endurance and 20 seconds of 110% speed, aka as fast as some killers. AND it doesnt get magically turned off at the end game.

I mostly play in the evenings/nights IF I play.

Right now I have the feeling that I need a break again, at leats for today. It just frustrates me enormously not even getting any further in the rift, I also want the cosmetics.

I really appreciate your offer. It´s glad to see that there are still wholesome people in this community.

But you have read what my problem is. I can't go in a voice call with strangers, I wouldn't get a word out. And since you and your friend have known each other for years, it's even worse for me because it makes me feel even more like the stupid outsider.

And I'm afraid of playing badly (I'm not a good looper) and disappointing my fellow players.

Well my offer remains open if you change your mind. I get the Voicechat hang ups, I don't usually get in them unless I know the people either. You can still join our party and play with us and see how you like it with 0 pressure on jumping in chat with us. We are not super serious players and play for fun- I have thousands of hours in this game and "winning" is not why I still play it.

And don't worry about being a good looper or disappointing anyone, my games are moments of genius followed by tons of potato game play where I mind game myself straight into a killers arms who had given up on catching me. 🤨

  • @IWantCandys said:

    Thanks for the responses, guys.

The problem is, I've already taken several breaks since the last patch. Once even for a very long time. But as soon as I go back to DBD, I relive the exact same scenario that made me need the break in the first place, and instantly feel just as stressed as I did before the break.

I'm not one of those players who absolutely has to win (aka escape). For me, it's a win when I've had fun. Then I have no problem saying "GG" in the PGC after getting killed and mean it completely honestly.

But fun? Fun is reserved for swf groups only. At least it seems so after the last patch. Nothing can get swf into trouble, but solos suffer. Because BHVR has to be careful with the buffs so that swf doesn't get even stronger and it's unfair to the killer. And because BHVR has to hold back the buffs for solo because of swf, I feel that SWF also breaks the game for me as a solo surv. Not just for killers.

Of course it's always easy to say "Then just play SWF" but it's not always that easy in life. I have mental problems when it comes to socializing. Call it some kind of social phobia. So basically I don't have any friends outside of my family and I can't imagine voice chatting with strangers. I'm too nervous and shy for that. So no chance of swf for me.

The bad thing is that I actually like playing PVP games. Because I don't have contact with other people in real life outside of my family, I at least like to interact with other people through multiplayer games. Even if you don't speak, it's the feeling of doing something together with other people.

That's why I can't manage to give up DBD completely. But I've now completely given up hope for improvement for solo queue and with it the hope that the fun will come back in DBD. :/

What time of day do you play? I play almost every night usually with a good friend of mine that I have played with for years, you are more than welcome to join us, the game is a lot more fun and balanced actually having teammates that know what they're doing and won't just abandon you on hook.

  • As if Queen Ada needs to wear anything to be beautiful.

Those are easier compared with the one that asks you to blind the killer 6 times. I still cant do it because every killer goes with lightborn every time i go with flashlight

Flashbang is your friend. I started running this skill again for the challenge and I like the challenge of trying to actually get them to work effectively.

  • I don't bring map offerings for any other reason than I don't want Auto-Haven or Macmillian for the millionth time this month. Not every move done by the other side in DBD is for some statistical/competitive advantage.

  • There is 2 major reasons solo queue is in a really bad spot for average players.

First, your "teammates" are bad. I get new players, people who hide in the corners of the map all game or just flat out refuse to do anything while I am looping the killer the best I can. Once the killers realize I am the only one doing anything, I usually get proxy camped on hook and end up dying on 1st or 2nd hook because survivors are scared of going down.

Secondary is a lot of killers will do anything and every thing in the power just to ensure a mandatory 4k match every match. No matter how much the match has snowballed out of control (in their favor) they just refuse to let off the gas.

I cannot even imagine trying to be a new survivor player and trying to compete with the current state of DBD, its not healthy for the state of the game.

Yup. Survivors will cry for killer nerfs until no killer players are left.

Yup. Killers will cry for more survivor nerfs until no survivor players are left. Fixed it for you.

  • Solo queue is getting increasingly hard to play for me. I get teamed with either noobs or just bad players and most killers will resort to any tactic to get their 4k. Why should I keep logging on and spend what little free time I have on this train wreck of a game?

I was watching a video of someone playing on Hawkins Lab, and while I remember hating it, I miss it. Variety is the spice of life and I had some good chases on there. It needs to come back with a few well placed bushes.

I miss seeing shirtless Davids. They seem to be a rare species these days.

There is a few of us still out there, I haven't put a shirt on David on almost 3 years. Dude is loud AF though. RIP Ironwill.....

  • Meh. I don't really care one way or the other, to each their own. DBD kinda threw out any chance of being considered a serious horror game when they started releasing silly outfits years ago.

  • Maxed out on both. On survivor side just solely for being able to do really fast 360s and quick turns. Ive had it this way for years, you may try it out and think its way too fast or sensitive for you but if you stick with it your brain will adjust and you will get used to it.

Thank you - but tbh I have a hard time believing I'm any higher than median in terms of MMR. For Nurse and Huntress it's hard to tell since they are free killers so they are at least tried by many people (+Rituals) and it's probably more about the add-ons rather than the killer itself that is an indicator of MMR. Not sure if I remember correctly but the Huntresses had 'I'm meaning business' skins & I remember seeing speed add-ons and Infantry Belts for at least a number of them. The Nurses were all over the place; some with Plaid Flanell (the brown one that lets you see where you blink) or Wooden Horse (Brown for less missed blink attacks) and some with the infamous range/recharge addons. Same goes for the Blights; some were I assume just doing the current tome (no/few/bad perks/add ons) and some were hard sweating.

When I look into the loadouts I'll probably also do a break down by Killer and Perks/Add-ons. Cause "Basekit Nurse" is really a different creature than "Omega Blink Nurse with Starstruck and aura reading".

😏Do I see a volunteer? ^^ joking aside, while I agree it would be awesome if a few other people did it... I do 10/10 not recommend doing it. While the matches themselves took 21.5 hours that time doesn't account for writing down the outcomes and loadouts, loading screens and matchmaking. The actual time it took was probably closer to 40 hours

But ye, you're completely right. - Even though these are 100 matches and it looks very statistic-y it's still only "statistically" relevant as far as I'm concerned. For everyone else it's still just more of a case study / anecdotal evidence.

Yes I can do this with your blessing, I don't like stealing others thunder without asking them 1st. I will play 100 games in solo queue with the same build and attempting to "win" to the best of my ability for the entire match. Its probably going to take awhile as I am going to create some charts and track everything I can about the games. Any suggestions or helpful hints as someone that has already done it?

I already have a pretty good idea how this will turn out, I tend to play very altruistic which doesn't tend to work out well for my survival odds.

  • Love what you did here, the only thing I would bring up as a way to improve this is to have more than 1 person doing this and comparing results using the same parameters. Everyone has their own play styles and weakness' and strengths which would definitely affect these stats.

  • Wasn't any one moment in a match, it was a match where I couldn't literally do anything right. Stuff like: Mind gaming myself back right into the killers grill during loops. Getting yanked off the hook trying to save people TWICE. On the final gen I missed 5-6 skill checks when it was like at 90% when my buddy was on the gen with me. The killer to his credit only hooked me twice and kept letting my teammates get me off the ground. I was at Red rank when this happened and the killer DM me after the match and said " I literally thought you were R20". It was humbling/funny both and may friends still bring it up from time to time.

    Best comment of the day.

  • A lot less. Almost everyone I used to play SWF's with has left the game. Solo queue is an absolute mess and the opposite of what I would consider fun.

  • Solo queue is hot garbage. Between survivor DC's and refusing to do objectives and sweaty "4k at all costs" killers its brutal.

  • Nothing to see here, just standard DBD hits. The only thing missing is the killer standing over you and beating their chests just to rub it in.

  • Some players just get off humiliating others, being toxic and intentionally doing any and every thing to ruin others gaming experience. I had 4 matches in a row last night of this nature and logged off after. This type of game play is not healthy for the game and BHVRs standard response of shrugging their shoulders isn't helping anything.
