Feel better now?
-
It generally helped me with new killers.
I ran it on Hag to slow down the game so I could prepare my little trap network. It was a little less pressure on me to get it done lightning fast. Was more of a sanity saver, honestly.
-
They are doing something about the length of the game.
They are making them even faster now.
-
This change was made for low level people. In high levels, the Doctor is a joke. Unless you have complete idiots playing or people that got to red ranks through... animal sacrifice or something, he's not an issue.
Low levels, however, the Doctor is a terror to be avoided. People who don't understand the game nor how to evade a killer through other means than Claudette's bush stealth are the ones up in arms. This is being made to appease them, plain and simple.

I'd like to hear what Bricky has to say about this lol
Probably be very upset. His shocky boy is now lounging in the cellar. Even Legion is laughing at this point.
-
Nah it's not dead. People will stick it out. Behavior will either realize their stupidity (yeah right) or just let the game become "Survive By Daylight: Generator Edition", where survivors must repair gens as fast as possible with no killer in sight. Bloodpoint bonus to people with the fastest times!

Never really got why it doesn't increase skillcheck chances that way the survivor is most likely to fail
Because that's "frustrating to play against".

It's not a theory, it's the made up excuse to nerf the perk into oblivion. They have wanted to nerf ruin for a long time, my guess is they just lacked a good excuse for it. Cause with what they said they can just pretend that no one will see this as a bull nerf "see we fixed the main reason you had to use this! it's not a nerf it's a change!!!"
Believe me, I agree with you 100%. It's their theory for backing up their BS.
-
Why would we use this perk? Behavior's logic is this:
a) Killers shouldn't have something to slow the game down with little effort from the killer.
Idiots missing skillchecks without us doing anything about it lines up with that. Granted it doesn't always slow down the game, it potentially can with people blowing up generators.
b) Skill check randomization makes a perk bad.
Hmm... lullaby relies on skill checks...
c) Is not "fun" for survivors
Insta circles for explosions is fun for people? I mean it is for killer's because it's hilarious, but I can't see that being a survivor thing
d) Punishes new players who can't hit skill checks
Yep, this will definitely happen... if you can't hit skill checks with a loud blaring noise and a delay, they sure as hell aren't when it's faster or instant. Yes I know they said great skill checks, but this perk relies on people missing them totally.
Sounds like lullaby needs a nerf now!
-
Did ya miss the part about the long ass cooldown for static blast?
-
I think they should just leave the perk alone, but that's me.
-
That's behavior's theory. A foolish theory, but theirs nonetheless.
-
Sorry, but I have seen more survivors up in arms about any type of change to them then I have killers. Not to mention, survivors have that old made up rule book for killers trying to tell us what we can and cannot do. If we don't abide by these rules, we get flamed and spammed after the game has been completed. We can't have our fun, but survivors can?
Yep, we killers are a toxic bunch, aren't we? Maybe we're just tired of getting mudholes stomped in our collective asses both in game and out and we are going to voice our discontent about it. We paid for this game and can therefore voice our opinions.
The doctor "change" still blows my mind.
-
@Exxodus21 said:
The devs have already said not to rely on that stat because it doesn't tell the whole story. For instance, "red rank" on means the killer is red rank with no red rank survivors. It also doesn't tell you of the kills were after all 5 gens were finished and only acquired because survivors hook bombed trying to get everyone out and got slugged. There's also survivors that suicide or go afk.
This. Kill rate stats are not 100% reliable. Disconnects, hook bombers, poor plays, people killing themselves on purpose, when gens were done, how far along, etc etc... this cannot be tracked.

Don't worry. With the new slug meta it won't be an issue
Throw some NOED in there with a slug meta and we'll have a grand ol' time.
-
Yeah I will stick around. I don't hardcore this game like I did a few months back.
I will enjoy not really "needing" ruin like I always felt I did, but I also don't plan to hit red ranks to where I will definitely get run over without some form of defense. It'll make my setups a little more interesting. Time will tell.

Quit being a troll. Thanks.

Before I start I want to make it clear for some people that I am not a survivor only player and I do not favor survivors over killers ,I play both sides equally.
With this ruin change I was as shocked as most people because it didn’t make sense that the perk that killers need to have a good match got nerfed but, although this change may hurt some killers that relied on it , it will also show us real killer’s kill rate without being carried by ruin, this may finally lead to buffs for killers like clown ,pig ,wraith .....
because previously ruin could carry even the worst of killers to a 4k and, depending on how long ruin stayed up , we were not able to determine if the gen speed is fine or not
after testing this change I’ll be more than happy to see the devs try different gen speeds, and changes to killers that need it.
tell me your thoughts
Have you ever been gen rushed? Ever? Have you ever seen 2-3 generators fall within mere moments of each other? Have you ever played against a gen rushing SWF group? Have you ever been at the red ranks at all?
Believe me, it's quite real. Ruin was one of the few perks that was able to even combat this, even though that was never a guarantee. Smart survivors know totem locations, and it's not uncommon to lose ruin a couple minutes into the match, rendering is completely useless.
I play both sides, but I have always favored killer. As a Hag main I used that short time to get a decent trap network started before charging into the fray. This has been taken away, which in turn hurts me since a Hag needs traps to be an effective killer. Now I am under even more pressure to set traps and attempt to hook survivors while they are easing through generators.
The underlying issue is that survivors can blow through gens in minutes by the time a killer actually catches a survivor and hooks him. We cannot be at all generators at once, and we simply cannot pressure all four gens to even make this perk viable (unless you are billy). If you are chasing survivors off of generators, you aren't killing, which means you're dragging out a failing game.
I get that ruin sucks. I don't even like using it, but I feel sometimes forced into the situation to just buy myself a little time to get the ball rolling. This new "perk" is not compensation for the loss of a very core perk. Gen speeds need to be adjusted, survivor perks need to seriously be looked at, infinite loops need to be removed... there are a plethora of issues within the game that behavior flat out ignores. THIS is what frustrates us as killers. The loss of ruin is, yet another, slap to the face.
-
Can we just go ahead and say that Legion sucks? At least be happy the normal movement speed got boosted, otherwise a Hag speed after a 4 second stun would be even worse.
-
It’ll be interesting to see. A survivor may use head on, but if inner strength starts becoming more frequently used, Iron Maiden is a direct counter to the perk.
We see you go in a locker, as soon as you pop out you are exposed. The healing that a survivor did may be for absolute nothing if one shot will take em out.

That's the Rob Zombie version of Myers. The original version of Michael Myers, which is what's in DBD, just stole his masks from stores.
Is this true, however? This Myers is incredibly huge. The original Myers was not that large of a person.
-
Legion? Who’s that?
Oh the killers in the corner who are in the fetal position crying because they watched Freddy bolt out of worst killer in the game and has now solidified their position in that role?
Yeah, nobody cares about them.
-
Or survivors stop being a bunch of babies when a mori is brought in. This happens to everybody.
I remember when I got flamed for bringing an ebony mori into the game. Funny part was, I didn’t have one. It was my fault for bringing in devour hope and it actually surviving until the end. Not my fault they cannot cleanse totems and cause me to gain a mori in the process. I even pointed out they could see it on the end game screen, but they were too busy barking their usual nonsense.
I do agree that D/Cs need to be punished more severely, though.
-
The most optimal Legion? The “delete him and try again behavior” kind.

@edgarpoop I had a game where a Plague was "proxy camping" as they call it. Basically staying nearby the hook and checking gens near the hook but not going any farther than the nearest gens. She won because my fellow survivors kept trying to unhook people(they were sick) and she'd just get another down. Wouldn't having 2 people on a hook be more pressure than 2 sick people not on a hook? I mean I don't encourage camping or anything but it seems like it'd be more effective since AT MOST you'd have one person on a gen, most likely you'd have none on a gen because 2 are on a hook. You'd need one to bait the killer and one to unhook the others, most likely.
Honestly this sounds like a fail on the survivor team. If the plague is proxy camping, then why are you all running in, sick and broken no less, to save the hooked person?
You are not going to be the hero in this scenario, as you are only feeding a proxy camper and wasting precious time. If you also three genned yourselves, that is also on the survivors.
Stop feeding proxy campers and giving them a reason to STAY put.
-
Ya know, at one point when I played this game, I stupidly adhered to their little rules. Then I quit for a few months and now have recently returned.
Do you know how much I care for their little rules now? Zero. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
There are no in game rules explicitly saying that I cannot tunnel or camp. While I prefer not to, I will do what I must to succeed in the game. If people want to d/c out of frustration or having hissy fits, that’s on them. Killers need to set the tone of the game, NOT the survivors.
Until behavior bans the garbage they cry about, I am free to do as I please.
-
You know what punishes injured survivors? Smacking them again.

This. Are you enjoying yourself, OP? If you are, who cares?
Are there better killers? Certainly so, but you don’t have to play the best killers to enjoy yourself. Some people feel the need to, but you don’t have to be “those guys”

Hag is the ultimate camper if you want her to be. Why stop at 1 trap for the hooked guy? I usually drop all 10 on and around them because it doesn't take that long to do. You can trap literally every pathway to the hook in alot of cases. If there is no urban evasion and you are proxy camping there is basically no way for them to unhook without triggering your traps.
To me, that’s a waste of traps. I tend to rig certain parts of the map (Windows, landing points from falls, etc) long beforehand and I deal with any survivors who happen to cross my path during this time.
You are more than welcome to do what you suggest, I just personally care not to. That’s not what defines a Hag for me. I enjoy chase and mind games, not proxy camping. I am not opposed to zipping back if a careless person trips a trap at a hook though.
-
The flip side is that survivors will immediately get a buff called Survivor Incentive.
Teabagging and flashlight clicking has a 50/75/100% chance to remove all killer blood points and cause them to uninstall their games.
-
Because truthfully, nobody cares. This community is not small enough for people to be recognized in game on a daily basis. One person trying to call attention to themselves because they are leaving is pointless.
It makes about as much sense as some random person coming up to me and telling me that they aren’t going to play pool anymore. Okay, good for you... do I know you?

I like basement trapper, but hag is probably the best generalized camper in the game. Insidious noed hag with the totally blacked out skin always gets me some salt. It's like a blendette for killers.
Wraith can also be a really good camper since you can just sit at the hook cloaked.
Insidious nurse can be hilarious if you can find a good spot to wait at. Leatherface is too camping meta for me to want to camp with.
I usually don't camp unless I am going into the game with the intention of camping to begin with (aka playing hag / trapper). But if someone is teabagging and flashlight clicking at pallets and it's early game, I will glady sacrifice a couple gens to camp them down for the lols most of the time.
Please explain how the Hag is a camper. She places a trap, an idiot triggers the obvious trap, and the Hag reappears.
Unless the Hag has the addon that allows teleportation to traps at will, if a survivor does not trigger your trap, you have to run your slow ass back to that hook. Traps do not signify as camping, only IQ checks for altruistic survivors.
-
The plague. A huge rotting woman slamming you in the head with an incense burner is a terrifying thought. She’s a woman empowered and she knows it. She stands up tall and walks with a serious purpose.
I just picture my wife being that tall and serious chasing me around the house with a frying pan. If that isn’t terrifying then I don’t know what would be.
-
Cleanse. Totems.
As said before, this perk has counter play and gives a penalty of having one less perk the entire duration. It’s similar to Haunted Ground, which is only a one shot perk and is then rendered useless after its duration.
What infuriates survivors is that noed pops at the end of a match, where survivors feel that they have won and should be allowed to escape freely. This is obviously not the case. The game officially ends when everyone is out the door or died. Survivors tend to forget this.

I love the hag shes great. Not many people like her or use her. But I have played as her in only a few games and enjoyed it.
Before a long haitus, I was a Hag main. I enjoy playing little chess games with traps and catching people off guard. I prefer killers who have more “strategic value” over ones who are just “harrr I instadown you and win zzz.”
That being said, I was also not a Hag who hooked someone and put 10 traps around them.

I had always hoped he/they could throw their knives. Yes it’s another huntress, but we could use another ranged killer.
I don’t know how they could balance it, I am not good at that, but I think it’d be a neat idea.
-
Because he is a weak killer. His power can be used to halt pallet drops and window vaults, but you have to be spot on with perfect aim and timing.
He is not a bad tracking killer, he is just lackluster in many departments. It’s a shame too, he could be fun to play.
-
@Atrushan88 said:
Camping killers are annoying because they just want to ruin the game and hope on altruistic survivors to give them an easy win. Even worse, Leatherface's power encourages this. I really wish they'd rework him in a way that doesn't encourage him to face camp the first survivor he gets.
Ruin the game. As opposed to infinites, teabagging, berating killers for killing a survivor, berating killers for using noed, being a downright ass with clicky clicky flashlight to prove some superiority complex, and just being overall an asshat?
Many people who are being camped did something to deserve it. I do not camp personally, but I have made an exception once or twice due to some asshat with an ego being annoying.
You can blame game mechanics, people being “toxic” or whatever, but this is a two way street. I will treat you as you treat me. If you play the game normally, I will too. If you do things to earn my ire, I will turn “toxic.”
-
Quite often, actually. When I mained Hag or ran my Wraith with the coxcombed clapper and the addon that made me have no terror radius when popping out of stealth it was VERY common.
I understand that the Hag is a pain in the ass to play against and ninja wraith has the tendency to be “cheap,” but I had fun doing it.
-
Been away from the game for several months, and I see not much has changed.
People like this are the reason I do not see chat. While some of it is hilarious as to how triggered people get, most of it is just downright obnoxious.
When I played more often and ran Hag, I would get a ton of people flaming me for “camping”, as apparently it’s my fault that they were too stupid to avoid my traps by crouching.
-
Many killers are far more complex then what you have listed. Yes, Trapper is very easy to start with, but to truly master and understand him you need to know good trap placement, have superior map knowledge, and an understanding of survivor behavior. He behaves in a Hag manner, just with more chasing and less teleporting.
Wraith uncloaks are the absolute key to mastery with him. Just uncloaking in front of a survivor and going derp mode is unwise. Uncloaking and charging from odd angles, from behind walls, and blocking safe pathways is a must. His Addons also greatly change how he behaves.
Addons are also pivotal for killers like the Doctor, as it literally changes his entire play style and tracking system.
I don’t disagree with everything you say at all, as you sum it up fairly well, but many killers have little tricks and nuances that are far more difficult to master.
-
Insidious + basement camps for immediate hate from survivors.

Plague actually has surprisingly good map pressure due to the vial object duration buff. Its hardly the best but it's better than most Killers.
I don’t disagree, as there is some pressure, but as she spews on more and more objects it becomes difficult to keep track of. It is better than most killers for sure, but unfortunately not enough to propel her higher.
-
Is Plague the best killer? No. Is she a mid tier killer? Absolutely. She is not the worst killer to grace this game by a long shot.
She lacks what most mid tier killers do, which is strong map pressure. Myers, Clown, Wraith, Trapper, all of these guys carry poor map pressure, just like her. What they do have is good surprise and chase mechanics, just like her.
-
I have never understood why smacking someone on a hook is “toxic” or “offensive”. I don’t do it because it is a waste of time, but survivors get their panties in a wad over some of the most minor things.
We don’t have to give you a hatch, we don’t have to camp or tunnel you, we can do whatever we damn well please. Until an official memo passes from the devs themselves and says YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING, we are limited only by ourselves.
Plus if a survivor wants to be a prick, should you be surprised at all that we will be one in return?
-
Do you like noed? No? Then cleanse the totems.
-
The blood point grind essentially IS the game. I don’t personally see it as an issue as it is a key factor in keeping people playing.
Though yes, many of those are still issues. In their developer update they spoke of making end game “more exciting”, whatever that may entail.
They are also messing with ranks again, too. I just wish they would make rank have a purpose aside from their wonky matchmaking system.
-
Funny, i thought the proper way to be Legion is just to simply exist. Soon as survivors see a legion they all d/c and it’s over.
