I'm just trying to say that no matter how much I left, I still am only responsible for 6h of ban, not 48. Also even if the internet would be my fault, it shouldn't be ban worthy, that just ruins the fun. Especially because I was killer and the survivors basically escaped and just started another round. That's not 48h of ban worth

Yes they are. You dc enough to where 2 dcs give you 48h.
Also, having good internet is on you.
Also also, every other game I play can detect if a disconnect is on them and reverses the ban, I had that some times, but you can be sure that the internet I have never had 2 disconnects within two days within a year. I actually never had a disconnect and then that? Also again, I wasn't disconnected with my PC, everything worked fine, only DbD just closed the round I was in, so I'm 80% sure it's their servers because my side is fine

Again, my connection was fine. I checked, there wasn't a single disconnect for me
Also it only happens in DbD, all other Games that are online are unaffected
So even if I left intentionally to get to 6h, it's not my fault to get up to 48 hours. Even if I wouldn't have left once, I'd still be up to 15 minutes for nothing

You'd have to DC way more than twice to get a 48 hr ban.
I know, but while I left enough times to get a 6h ban, I never had connection problems once with my internet, so these 48 hours are not my fault. SO I never even considered not playing until I would get 5 minutes again

you underestimate BHVR's ability to break something.
Totems keep breaking and becoming uncleansable
almost 3 months later and zombies still collide with objects and are unable to move
hits that are denied by pallet stuns give hit confirmation sometimes before being corrected.
I think the Zombie thing is forgivable, as AI is quite hard to train. The AI itself can't see there's something in front of it, it recognizes an obstacle and has to estimate if it's enough to keep going because the Zombie will eventually pass that obstacle, or if that obstacle would be too big, like a fence. And as Behaviour published this AI 3 months ago, it will take some time to train it to know what obstacles to avoid and in which direction to pass. The totems just happen to be hidden so well that sometimes the clips that hinder Killer and Survivor to pass through objects are in front of the totem and Pallet hits are also complex I guess because unlike other events in this game, a stun and a hit often appear to be sent at the same time to the server, because noone has a ping of 1ms. So then the server has to check which event is valid but the game must go on. So it's all not that easy to "just" fix it

I think the biggest problem with an idea like this is that it would likely break the game in half trying to code it in.
I don't think so, it is nothing more than an object with Kindred

I don't care if it means matches are more fair and that my opponent isn't way above or below me to where I'll get curb stomped at 5 gens or deal out the curb stomping. I just want fun and fair matches.
I don't think they changed ranking, else there would be an announcement.
one good start towards fair ranking would be a max rank difference So if you are a Rank 15 surv, you might be only able to play in an SWF where noone is below Rank 13. Sure there are smurfers but this will definitely reduce the amount of unfair SWFs

It is possible to maybe pve as survivor or killer as practice with lowered bloodpoint award at the end perhaps? So that people will still play pvp.
I would have said, like in KYF, no rewards at all. If you want Bloodpoints, you have to play PvP

Yes please
At least trapper only for the first release, knowing they won't want to program the AI for all killers.
Some addons might require AI code.
All maps should be possible, or they don't have the bots walking paths either?!?
Aren't all previous points covered in the mobile version?
I don't think there are paths. The Ai only knows how to walk, avoid and chase

That's just not true. The online gaming community is often so hardcore about playing against other people, rather than just bots, that even the mere mention of a solo play mode seems to get people all riled up.
I'm sure there is a more than substantial player base who would rather vs other people than bots.
Many PVP/MMO themed games have a solo mode and it hasn't harmed the online numbers at all.
I like a solo play element because frankly sometimes the online experience is terrible.
I really hope they implement a custom game mode with bots, you'd only have access to content you already owned and you could set difficulty with some simple behavioral sliders. (Aggressive/defensive killer, bold/fearful survivors etc).
I really enjoy DBD but I go through spikes and dips in motivation to play usually based on the quality of game experience. Lately its been really low so haven't played in a while. Part of that game experience is how often you deal with people who are just unpleasant to game with (which can be really often).
A great solution is solo play.
I don't really play this game competitively, I play to recreate the thematic feel of being in a classic horror movie, even as the antagonist if I choose, which is awesome as so few games permit that.
Many gamers relish in beating their online opponents and that's great for them (play the way you want to play I say), but I don't really care about that and I'm sure plenty of people don't and would probably appreciate a solo play mode.
Having a solo play mode would definitely increase my game time, both offline and online, as bots can get boring so you always find yourself hitting up online games eventfully. Its just nice to have the option.
This sums it up pretty neat. Also it could be great to test out some new features. Normally when I buy a new killer, I go into a KYF with someone to test out Perks and see the mori. But sometimes noone has time, so it would be great to be able to have some fun in a solo world, just testing out some perkbuilds

The main problem with offerings is you have to predict what others are going to do to use them properly. The sacrificial ward is great, but once you see a map offering it is to late. I like the idea of a counter offering but that does seem like a lot of extra stuff in the bloodweb; getting them instead of offering like shrouds and reagents would be nice though. I think either this idea would be good, or allowing people to play certain offerings in response to other people's offering. For example, if someone uses a map offering then the other 4 players would get like a 10 second window to play a counter map offering to either cancel it or to give a chance of going to a different map.
But the sacrifical ward just cancels out map offerings, I'd like to have offerings that remove maps from the pool because I already played on the same map like 10 times a day
-
@ilovedbd123 said:
I don't mind if you keep BP offerings secret. However- ones that change where hatch is spawned, the map or fog shouldn't be secret. Hatch spawns need to be seen by the killer if the survivors bring in the offering to know where it is aswell (it's already OP with a key, would be stupid if secret).
That's also possible, but there should be much more secret ones, to make the rounds more interesting. Is it a mori or is it just bloodpoints?

So, here are the normal answers in advance. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anything:
This games community is too small for Casual and Ranked modes.
This game is a Casual game, so ranks don't matter.
Survivor queue is already too long, this would make it worse.
The game shouldn't stop friends from playing together.
Ranks aren't the same as skill.
Git gud
I probably forgot a few, but you get the idea.
But it doesn't stop friends from playing together. There is a gamemode that doesn't care for ranks, it's just so people can be sure that the games are fair for them
Then "gid gud" is the best thing to say to people, especially if they are not experienced in the game, but face a red rank
Also this game is not casual. Ranks do matter and you get banned for leaving, Behaviour also calls it "Matchmaking." Casual would be "Kill your friends"
And you can still be sure that someone who is a red rank is 100 times more experienced than someone who is a brown rank. I got trolled by swfs many times and it's just ruining the will to play killer. That's why the survivor queue times are so long

100 kiloBits? (12 kilobytes)
100 kilobytes?
Nonetheless, both of them so 2000, the first stepping stone just after 56k modems...
Never tell anyone you run on such a slow speed.
On top of that, I hope you don't use wireless for any sort of gaming, that is another sin.

I obviously meant 100MiB/s (12MByte/s)

Yeah sure. Repair a gen, don't see Myers, get the audible signal for Evil 2. Just keep repairing and suddenly he's Tier 3 with red hair. Fun for the whole family

They wont leave? Force them out (you can open the exit gate yourself). They won't do gens? so kill them.
The fact of the matter is, killers dc'ing is more toxic than a single survivor DC'ing. If a killer DC's you just wasted all 4 survivors times and you force them to sit in queue for another 15+ minutes to find a match. Where as if a survivor DC's or kills themself, the killer still gets points and the survivors can still continue playing.
Don't you think they deserve that if they ruin the fun?

The answer is nobody took the game seriously and everyone sucked.
Ah yeah, the good old time. I miss 2017
-
Well if I say Jimmy Hall, that's not really working. But what about some Creepypasta Characters, like Jeff the Killer or Kuchisake Onna - The "Grinning Woman"
-
It can mean many things. First of all, and that counts especially for me, it's happening, when a survivor managed to loop me for quite a long time. I play this game for 2.5k Hours but still can't loop for an entire round straight. So I am angry if others do it, also because it just ruins the fun for everyone. The killer maybe has one hook (I also had rounds with zero hooks), the gens are done within 3 minutes, and they all teabag in the exit. Who wins that round? Noone had as much fun as if the round is balanced (Which I have way not enough). And so if I do catch a survivor, I hit him like "Know your place, trash".
Sometimes I even camp them. I know everyone complains about campers, but for me, I try to avoid it, but can't if it's a survivor I can be sure will escape if he gets unhooked.
Especially when the exit gates are open and you have no NOED, that's when survivors get toxic because they know they win anyway
-
I can't remember any good round, even tho I had some. But I can say that the best moments were those events in 2018. First the BBQ Event with the grill hooks and slush ice machines on the generators, which gave a great summer feeling. And 3 Months later the Halloween Event with the Visceral Cankers, which actually brought some more Style into the game.
Beyond that, I normally have really toxic rounds, or rounds whith people who are much worse than me, so if they get hooked too fast, I slow a bit down.
-
There are some things. First, I didn't know that the Wraith is in fact not invisible (Well now he is, but I started end 2016). I also didn't know that Insidious doesn't make me invisible (This one just happened to be a translation error, when I didn't play the game in english. It said that I have no terror radius and become invisible)

Well if that's the case then Zanshin Tactics just became a decent perk since you'll be able to know that the loud noise notification is created by a vault spot.
But yeah, I think your idea would make a good secondary ability for Red Herring or an just an entirely new perk
But Zanshin only works within 24 Meters. If the killer is beyond that point he might not know that it's a vault spot. And even if he does. I see fast vaults all the time in my rounds. Sometimes it also happens to me when I press shift
-
@Saltjar34 said:
Here's the thing though. Do you know why I'm All Ears typically activates in chases despite its gigantic range? It's because no competent survivor would fast vault while not in chase.
Tying Red Herring to vault spots would make the perk even less useful since killers are usually suspicious of rushed action notifications outside of chases.
I mean, normally in my rounds killers come to my spot when I fast vault. They don't know that there's a rushed vault. It could also be that I am healing someone and missed a skillcheck. Killers can't see the cause of the notification, only the location

Not in the middle, but rather as one side of the surrounding walls

Add Doctor to the list.
Incidentally there used to be an exploit/cheat of sorts that let survivor's view who the killer was (and even who they were playing as) in the pre-game lobby. Of course this was abused quite a bit. (Doctor? Calm Spirit. Spirit? Iron Will and Lightweight. Trapper? Small Game and Slippery Meat. Wraith? Spine Chill and Flashlight.)
EDIT: I wouldn't mind if it was something like the Killer could turn a setting on and in the lobby it says 3 different killers, one of which being the real one. I.E. if it's Doctor it'll say "Legion, Doctor, Shape" or "Doctor, Pig, Hillbilly" So there's a vague clue who it might be but there's still ambiguity.
Either it would be completely randomly generated or as a 3-killer "preset". Like Legion, Doctor, and Shape would always display as such. Ideally the 3 killers in each "preset" would be as far apart as possible gameplay wise (no "Wraith, Ghostface, Shape" (stealth killers) or "Trapper, Hag, Freddy" (killers who set traps)) so you can't tailor a general anti-stealth killer loadout or something.
The exploit happened to be in the DeadByDaylight.log, where every killer had a number assigned. You could quite easily read the number, and display the corresponding Killer as you wanted. But now the logs are encrypted so this would be no problem. On the Cheating side, there will always be a way for users to cheat, most commonly altering your RAM to make the game think you actually have 10k Iridescent Shards or what you want. It would be way too much work to check if it really was possible for you to get whatever you cheated in a certain time, cause there are thousands of players and the servers wouldn't do that

The killer can leave the chase if it's too long. Just dont cancel out the chase completely. Also if the chase is long it's the survivor outplaying them. Increasing gen time will kill the survivor playerbase all I'm getting from you is that you only care if the killers have fun.
Nope, all I want is the Survivors not finishing 5 Gens in about 3 minutes. in 2,5k hours in game, I found that the rounds that took 10 to 20 minutes were the best
-
@kaijudane said:
There's no way to make this work. I wanted to see the usernames of who is playing killer to avoid toxic players but then it opens up the possibility of survivors knowing the killer and then you'd have a Friday the 13th situation on your hands where unskilled players team with the killer.
Then what about knowing who the killer is in the lobby to decide if you want to play against him? But then your perks are locked, you you have to decide carefully

This ^
It'd actually be beneficial to the survivors to bring it into the game.
I'd suggest it being the opposite; the survivors' fear of failing causes them to group up and ensure a generator is finished the first time round.
Generators now take 95 seconds to complete, reduced by 5 seconds for every other survivor also on that generator.
That would counter people splitting up on gens, but would also make Prove Thyself an even stronger perk if this perk ever became meta. I can see this, with RuinDying, being absolutely atrocious to deal with though, so maybe it's best if this stays in the drafts.
Well okay, that sounds a lot more balanced than my idea
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
Gen rushing is when survivors split up and do the gens by themself. This would be like blood favor where it's teaching the survivor to play right.
Cool name though 👍️ we need more phobia names
But you get the Gist, No multiple Survs on aa gen
-
@Thanotos_Omega said:
This would never work, to many survivors would just ban out all the top tier killers or organize for the highest chance of getting a noob opponent, which is already a serious issue for killers,
It would, if you can only ban each killer twice then you have to play against him again twice before you can ban him again
-
Well, it's a halloween event, but I love it and I hope that Bhvr now does it every year
-
Aaaaaaand they're back!
-
Another great idea: Just don't do anything. If you stay afk, you even get idle-crows which makes the killer find you even faster
-
Normally it's a 3 Month Frequency, but I could imagine that they delay it to 4 months to bring it for Halloween
-
Why wouldn't I? I am one of those killers who can get looped quite easily. I may be able to counter it, but I only can do it in 50-60% of all cases. Then I get t-bagged, flashlight-spammed, etc in every second round. On PTB I won't lose my Mories on the main server. I can use them all, mori those toxic survs and still have my moris when PTB is over. As you have nothing really to lose, you can play as you want, camp, tunnel, etc, whatever you want to do to the survs that troll you. Ofc some also do that in the live servers, but I can only talk for myself
