  • If you havent had killed enough survivors until 5 gens are done, and not playing a endgame built, it was your own fault for being ineffective or making too many mistakes. Endgame isnt something to help anyone besides letting the game end in time.

because its irrelevant. if someone DC in the first 5sec of the match, makes no difference. The hatch is still an option for the remaining survivors, the reamining survivors and bot can still do gens, if your the last one standing then you still have the gates as an option if the killer closes the hatch. When they DC makes no difference, there is still a way to escape.

Nothing more to discuss here. Youre just taking everything out of context and are still pretending against common sense. Pls, just dont ever quote me again. Youve done this now several times. Discussion with you is wasted time.

i read it perfectly, you said its game over when its 3 v 1 with a bot is over….its not as i have just pointed out. at no point in the match is the game over untill ALL survivors have died or escaped.

my example clearly wasnt a game over because i escaped. This is another example of how people misunderstand the game entirely. Everyone has equal chance to be last player standing to get the hatch, someone else could have had it if they played better. The gate escape i am talking about in my example was v ghoul on The Game map…you know how well ghouls map coverage is? pretty bad situation to be in but i still did it.

You are looking at the game wrong saying survivors (plural). A common mistake is people believing the survivors are a team but they are not. Everything points to the fact they are not a team so it makes sense for 1 survivor to escape.

You clearly read not perfectly. Or why are you purposely ignoring the word "early"?

  • @runningguy said:

Not true at all, the hatch exists and when closed, the gates are still an option. Just had a match where my team did pretty bad (a bot would have been better). 2 gens remain with 1 dead bot, 2 survivors about to die on hook…. When they died, it was hatch hunting time. killer found the hatch, closed it….gates were powered. i stealthed my way to a gate, took my time, opened the gate and escaped. i actually saved the end of the match to show how stealth can be used to escape when things are looking bad with hatch closed.

Point is, its never game over and not an excuse for DCing. Its an option many take because they can.

    1. Read again
    2. Ask yourself why you answered something entirely different.
    3. Your example was still a game over. Hatch is not a chance for the remaining survivors (plural!!!). Also in 9/10 games the exit spawn is so bad that even a stealth attempt is futile. Stop pretending something thats obviously untrue!

There is no current plans to adjust Demo in the short term - this chapter is focusing on new content.

And thats the problem. After all the thigns that happened lately, you cannot bring a chapter with just new content. Youre basically just fanservicing for years now and lack any serious intent of getting proper gameplay to work.

    • The most controversial aspect of Vecna is its mindless spam ability. So, it's not that Unknown should be a bit like Vecna, but Vecna should be a bit like Unknown. (My opinion)

    But thats not killer mentality.

  • @Jay_K said:

Been playing Vecna and day 1 was fine, no DCs but today its nothing but DC.
Survivor going down to fast = DC
Survivor can't get flashy save because of lightborn = DC
Survivor makes 1 mistake in chase = DC

Like if you can't handle a loss please just take a break from the game for your own health.
Just finished a game and within 2 a half minutes all 4 survivors DCed. I had a single hook and lost 1 gen so it wasn't like it was a wash. Robin DCed first because they got caught with my power, then the cheryl got caught hiding near by for a flashy save and went down and that triggered 4 disconnects.

I know it will never stop and i know i can't do anything about it but just wanted to rant a bit as i just wanna play this game as a killer but sometimes its just impossible to play because of disconnects.

Lets be honest, as soon as you play an early 3vs1 with a bot, the game is over. You cannot blame them DCing after the first one did early.

Still, the devs refuse to take a look at why survivors are DCing (and i dont mean those who just DC for everything) and refuse to take proper steps against those reasons.

  • We already had two weeks of PTB. Nothing new will come out of it. It never did for the reasons this game is not that deep and you can figure out things pretty quick.

not a good example using nurse…. try SWF team with comms v pyramid head or trapper and we have what the actual game is like.

If survivors cant counter tunneling thats their skill issue. There is a reason why tunnelers pick the weak link to tunnel first. They are easy to down. No weak link means the tunneler cant get a down so fast and actually costs them the match by tunneling. Also the same argument can be said for anyone in SWF….if you need SWF with comms to win then maybe they are not as good as they think they are because they have used comms to gain an advantage. Explains why so many SWF players refuse to play soloq….they cant win because they rely on SWF with comms as crutch like killers rely on tunneling. Works both ways

It doesnt make any sense to discuss this with someone like you who just turns everything around for his own agenda. At peak gameplay the nurse is the strongest side. Tunneling cant be countered. Thats both common sense. Otherwise, if tunneling could be countered, why do we have to argue against tunneling for years now? Then it wouldnt be an issue to be talked about. Also SWF doesnt compensate for no skill, while tunneling actually does circumvent core gameplay (at equal terms).

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4048816#Comment_4048816

clearly is necessary when tunnelers are saying the reason why they tunnel is because of gen speeds and openly say they are good with not tunneling IF they have time to spread hooks. i hard tunnel….Why do i do this? if i dont, gens get done and i lose, its that simple. Want me to stop tunneling? i have said what would make me stop….slower gen speeds. many killers have said the same. Dont want to listen? Thats why we are at this situation.

Tunnlers always say whats the best narrative for them and not whats reasonably the truth. Ypu probably never even thought for a second that youre not as good as you think you are. If you feel the need to hardtunnel, youre just not accepting that youre the worse player in the match.

Lets take a look at the top scene: they did once an experiment. "best nurse" vs "best swf". three games and it ended in one draw and two 4ks with at least one gen up. Regarding all of your logics this shouldnt even be possible if survivors played optimally. But thats how the game works. Its prooved that it has nothing to do with gen speeds.

"why is the killer supposed to be able to secure 25% of their victory but the survivor on hook isn't supposed to be able to secure 100% of theirs" It's assym game it can't be absolutely equal everywhere

How about not faking math for your sake?

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4048806#Comment_4048806

to be fair its not killers that are against slowing gens down. Its survivors that refuse to accept that if they want tunneling nerfed so it actually punishes killers doing it then gen speeds also needs to be nerfed. If we say tunneling will be nerfed heavily so its not as effective and at the same time nerf gen speeds, its not killers that would be against that….its mostly survivors because they generally dont like doing gens as its boring so they are dead against making them last longer.

Cause slowing gens down isnt necessary at all. Weve had several changes to slow down gens during the last years, and before that killers were also able to win their games … consistently! Still yet the gens have never been this slow and people still complain. So gen speeds arent an issue to begin with. History prooves this. Also your logic of if tunneling gets nerfed gens need to get nerfed doesnt exist at all too.

That assumes gen-rushing is a reaction to killer behavior, when in reality it’s been the most efficient survivor strategy regardless of how the killer plays. Survivors didn’t start splitting and rushing gens because killers tunneled, they do it because it’s the fastest, safest way to win.

Even against “nice” killers who spread hooks, don’t tunnel, and avoid early pressure, gens still fly. That’s not killers “bringing it on themselves,” that’s the core objective being extremely time-efficient and low-risk when done correctly.

Adaptation doesn’t mean “you caused this.” It means responding to what consistently wins on the other side. If survivors are optimized for speed by design, killers have to be optimized for pressure by design.

You can’t seriously argue that killers should keep playing slow, hook-spreading styles when those styles are objectively punished by the current gen pace. That’s not adaptation, that’s self-sabotage.

Again, this isn’t about blaming survivors or killers. It’s about acknowledging that both sides are responding to the incentives the game gives them. If people don’t like the result, the incentives need to change, not the players.

Not interacting with anything besides gens was never the most efficient way to reach the survivor goal, cause it would always result in a certain death of one survivor. But its the only way to guarantee a chance of surviving for three other if the killer is tunneling out the first survivor, cause as soons as there is an early 3vs1 situation the game is mostly over fpr the survivors. And yeah, this is caused by killers that are under the false asumption that this is necessary though it isnt. No killer has to do this to win games. But every killer no matter how bad they are in comparison to the other palyers want to get their 4k. Killer mindset is the worst issue in this game as long as devs let them be.

Play ghoul at high mmr and you wont be calling for nerfs. Cooldown after pallet break was the laziest change ever and made him boring now. Learn how to play against a killer before crying to BHVR for nerfs to a killer we paid money for

Ah thats why the high mmr ghoulds do not complain at all.

  • @Emeal said:

Leaving the hook is way way way more likely end up with 0K instead. If Killers cant guard what they get in endgame, you might aswell allow killers to abandon game the second all gens are done.

So why is the killer supposed to be able to secure their kill, but the survivor on hook isnt supposed to be able to still be saved? Double standards.

  • How can killers adapt to something they brought onto themselfs with the play they already do?

Honestly, the hiding update and antitunnel update both turned out the same, shot down by the community, with only fragments left in the game.

BHVR tried to make the game fun for both sides, but this community decided that they don't want that.

Nah devs decided to turn tails cause the biased ones were barking the loudest. Devs need to stop being scared every time.

  • If youre a new player you should learn how to play killer characters properly and not how to circumvent core mechanics to get easy games against better players. Youre under so many false asumptions, its clear youre not a new player.

  • Visual appealing characters sell better. We already have several unconventional characters like Haddie (I still wait for a proper face skin that doesnt look like shes been a punching bag for years) and literally none of them are played, cause lore is just "worthless" in dbd gameplay. I would think that at least 9 out of 10 players play their character cause of visual identification. Still I think we need some visual appealing MALE characters.

I get that some killers like Trapper can feel awful in Chaos Shuffle without specific add-ons. That’s a valid issue.

But using Trapper as a shield to dismiss the survivor experience is illogical. A low-tier killer struggling doesn’t justify an entire role having miserable matches. That’s a Trapper problem, not a survivor one.

The playstyle I’m talking about isn’t limited to weak killers. It’s widely used by high-tier killers too Blight, Nurse, Kaneki... High-tier killers don’t suddenly “play nice” out of generosity, they still tunnel just as hard because they can.

I recently played several matches as Trapper (its my main). I literally just got once Ruin and once Pentimento (but it didnt even activate). And I still had no issue without tunneling at all. I even tied with a 4man SWF with toolboxes. It just prooved my overall view on the game: you do not need to rely on "killer tactics" and you do not need to rely on 4 slowdowns if you understand the overall gameplay and your character. Especially in a game mode like Chaos Shuffle. Still 99% of the killer players are under this false premise that this is mandatory to win, because several extreme biased streamers promote this so blatantly, it becomes a "truth" for them. But its always the same with events: most killers just seem to want to make the game as annoying as possible for others. And as long the devs promote this behaviour by skipping the necessary balance changes, it wont get any better.

Yeah I didnt win at 4 gens, but why should you even be able to do this with any killer? I had fun and challenging games.

The problem is when we try to talk about making the gameplay fun for killers, the conversation gets an overwhelming amount of pushback.

Excessive hiding is unfun for killers, and we we SUPPOSED TO have a phase 1 update to address this problem, but survivors complained they are "just trying to survive", and got the entire thing nerfed so badly that BHVR might as well just revert the AFK crows to what they were before phase 1.

Bully SWFs are unfun for killers, but if people try to talk about that, we get told it's not really a problem, or "at least they aren't doing gens"

Gen rushing is unfun for killers, but if people try to talk about that, we get told "it's not real" or "that's not what gen rushing is"

Being forced to slug isn't fun for killers, but if people try to talk about that, we get told "slugging is worse for survivors" or "it's not really a problem"

Voice comms and SWFs aren't fun for killers, but if people try to talk about that, we get told "you can't punish people for playing with friends"

So really, when people say "making the gameplay fun", the vast majority of the time it's really "making the gameplay fun FOR SURVIVORS ONLY"

Tell me your biased whithout telling me your biased 101.

  • too much and should be decreased

It's a broken item (as in flawed not OP) and its pointless working on it until the fog opacity is unified on ALL MAPS so it behaves the same, actually functions properly and can be properly balanced.

But lets be honest, barely anyone will run anything but medkit and toolbox while they are so broken unless other items are equally overpowered. Those two items will forever have a stranglehold on survivor items until they are actually rebalanced and nerfed so other items can exist along side them meaningfully, and thats just a fact.

None of those items are overpowered.

  • Cause survivors have nothing to do with how miserable killers make the games that are played. Easy as that.

    1. Going down isnt a mistake. Its inevitabgle by game design.
    2. If the killer doesnt pick you up after going down, its his mistake and not your second chance.
    3. Perks are an assistance tool. Theyre not a reward system. Also works on both sides equally like Bamboozle, Lethal, Ruin.
    4. Cause killers could abuse it otherwise for free kills. And they already did.

Summary: You have no idea what youre even talking about.

  • Cause such games are like what? 1 per 100? You need some serious coordination to pull this off as swf and 99 % of the playerbase isnt capable of this. It would be a good idea for most of the killerbase to start learning how to play their characters properly. But I guess killers will always fantasize that you should be able to 4k no matter how bad you are. Cause the game carries you that much right now.

  • @runningguy said:

and this is why the game will never be balanced. people acknowledge that SWF has advantages that solo players do not yet SWF players refuse to accept any penalty for these advantages because it "penalizing people for playing together".

Having advantages doesnt make them better players. That is obvious.

  • Nah, you have to prove youre right. Otherwise its just a false claim. But we know both that this not gonna happen. Cause its not reasonable proofable.

  • Here we go again penalizing people playing together in a team game. We never get bored of this unreasonable bias.

He's got a point though. Playing in a SWF massively makes survivor better than it already is (it's the stronger role)

    Wrong.

  • Probably Chaos Shuffle cause you do not have to face meta every game. But since basically all killers play awful nowadays nothing feels good to be honest.

  • Hopefully never. Both modes were totally awful to play as survivor.

  • Maybe devs have already forgotten about them after trashing them and ignoring all the feedback.

  • The good old "end of the world" conspiracys that always happen for no logical reason. Its kinda amusing.

  • @Munky said:

What ticks me of more is the fact that survivors are allowed to bring in items… Thats a big powershift versus a killer that cant run meta.

    Its not.

  • @Brimp said:

Eh the modes already objectively survivor sided when you play as most of the killer roster so I get why those specific killers tunnel. Killer with weak perks will ALWAYS be worse than survivor with weak perks which is what happens most games.

    Wrong.

  • I never understood why devs are so stingy with Iri shards. There are probably thousands of cosmetics that are available for shards but you can literally just get 1% worth of shards. they also disabled the possibility to get new cosmetics with shards. But from the changes of the past years you can easily tell that bhvr is just about to make money as much as possible and not servicing their customers.

  • So basically the same as in every game mode or event, cause most of the killer base just wants to have ez games.

  • Imagine complaining about random assignments in a random game mode.

  • To be fair, basically all subtle cheaters hide this behind an aura read perk.

What is average killer player, see you put here question that doesnt have simple answer compare to one I reacted to before.

Who is average killer player blight, ghoul, trapper compare to you he clearly stated what are "bad killers" he wants to face so take your wide spectrum and make it clear.

If you mean that majority of killer players doesnt want to improove thats your oppinion but I think you only put almost 50% of killer players into one bag generalizing them and only making akward us vs them comment. Did I made something generalizing statement on survivor? I didnt only summarized his comment that clearly states he just wants to play against weaker opponest so he can win which clearly means he just doesnt want to improove, thats like if I would say "the second pallet density update that made loops super weak should have stayed because i want ti have easy games" but to your luck I was clearly against both of them (excluding few maps like haddonfiel from the first pallet density update that were needed to maps that had bad loops or some coldwind maps).

Quite funny. Youre just assuming things on his post and accuse me of "just generalizing". Quite the doublestandadrs, dont you think?
