Killers have actually no issues to quit for unless theyre bad players claiming to be bullied every game (which obviously doesnt happen at all).

They get tons of information using third-party software. You may not have noticed, but there's no voice chat in the game. Using Discord, etc., survivors squads can always communicate the exact location of the killer, totems, perks, etc.
Nothing of this break the rules. And every game released knows that voice-comms exist. It doesnt matter if its ingame or not.

my point was that "average chase time per game" is also going to include games where it's not 3 chases per survivor, so you can't directly derive "how long one chase takes on average" from that number alone, using an obviously exaggerated hypothetical as an illustrative example. the point is not that the specific scenario I described might happen.
You do understand the math behind an "average" right?

Just SWF/no SWF. SWF is the most powerful force the game has ever seen. If you want 30+ free perks obtained using third-party software, bypassing the rules of the game, fine, no problem, but only in ranked mode, where every killer will sweat If you want a more balanced approach, play casual solo mode
This way, killers who don't want to sweat won't encounter swf, and swf will get opponents equal to themselves in ranked mode
It's very simpleWhat rules do SWF bypass?

Keep in mind that if a killer takes a minute to find someone, gets run for 4 minutes, gets their first down next to the NOED totem, and then camps their 1 hook while the other 3 survivors escape, that counts as an average of 1 minute of chase time per survivor. A match where the survivors all stealth and slam gens, and only have 4 chases but go down in 15 seconds would have 15 seconds of chase time per player. It's affected by a lot of factors so IMO just the average chase time per match isn't super helpful, it'd maybe be more useful to have chase time per hook state.
Lets just ignore that such thing literally never happens.

if the game had inbulit comms instead of SWFs useing discord like we all do, the game can actually be blanced not for solo q, that is just trash and into SWFs which is co-oridnated and can destroy killers easily. if the game was balanced against SWFs instead of solo q by adding comms the game will be much easier of balance
a ranked system will further help seperating casual players from players that wanna win while also adding a relaxed casual mode for everyone else. this way people actually have a reason to win apart form just winning and the game can be balanced even more effectivly and give a reaosn for people to que apart from "just having fun"
I just think both survivors and killers will benifit with these changes as the game can actually me balanced a
In-built comms and DC comms are a totally different thing. Not every SWF is on voicecomms, and if they are not everyone is making call-outs like comp. If you dont think so youre most likely american, where everybody speaks the same language. The rest of the world doesnt, just fyi. And most people arent that good in speaking english too, to even communicate properly. Forcing voice comms and thinking that everyone is now a topnotched-swf doesnt make any sense.
The same goes for split modes. Most people do not just want to win. They want to have easy games. So why should they want to play in a ranked mode with not so easy games? They just play casual and do the same thing as now. The only ones that would play a ranked mode are people who are totaly competitive oriented, so maybe 1% at all. A mode for 1% makes no sense, especially cause dbd isnt a comp game at all.
-
Its totally fine.
-
The naming itself is quite special (no pun intended). But it definitely makes descriptions more clear than before.

Killers have no choice but to tunnel 1 survivor out of the game. It's no different from IDV. If you think of spreading hooks then you're just begging for a loss.
3 survivors alive will always be better than 4 survivors alive. The devs will never incentivize for 12 hooking. It doesn't matter how many anti tunnel or anti camp features or perks they are adding to the game it's simply not worth it to keep 4 survivors alive.
I dont know why repeating the same lie over and over would make it any more true?

People don’t seem to understand that BHVR has to invest in their popular characters because it makes them money. They’re not gonna make money by making content for less played characters. And even when they do, it still doesn’t bring that less played characters pickrates up because clearly as you can see from the picture, people are more interested in these survivors.
People dont understand that it doesnt matter if a character is popular or not. It just matters if the cosmetic is worth it to play or not. You can surely bring out the 200th cosmetic for meg, if its not fancy enough to be played its just a wasted cosmetic and could have either used for another character.

By that logic you shouldn't be able to abandon when your being slugged because you can still play while being slugged you just can't play in the way you want
How is being slugged anywhere near "you can still play"? You cant do anything thats related to your objective. And thats the total opposite of your take. Even if you go again for the mods, youre completely unreasonable and there no way denying this.

How come survivors can disconnect without penalty when they are about to die but for killers they have to walk all the way to the gate and chase camping survivors to get them to actually leave and finish the game? This isnt an occasional thing if survivors escape through the gate there is usually atleast 1 person who stands right beside the exit just waiting to waste my time and I get punished for leaving the game so I can get onto my next game faster?
How come you do not understand the difference in being unable to play anymore and still being able to do whatever you want?

i came back after i haven't played the game for most of 2025 and honestly, the gen speed is insane. I'm experienced (4000h) and i tried many different perk setups and tactics and honestly, there just isn't a way to 4k anymore. At least not against the survivors i play against. Even if my chases go fast, it's almost impossible to prevent all 5 gens from finishing. All the band-aid perks are gone and i'm not playing Blight or Nurse, so no oppressive s-tier killers here. It's so frustrating and i think about leaving again after 1 week. Meanwhile, i've escaped in most of my solo matches (2v8 is a different story).
Ill be honest, I cannot understand how people like you are so entitled to get 4ks as killer. The game isnt meant to get 4ks often at all. I completely doubt youre at high MMR or at least youre totally not meant to be at high MMR. It doesnt amtter if you play Trapper or Nurse. If youre a top-notched player you know how to do well, and you obviously dont do. The game itself hasnt changed much in 2025, besides being even more killer-favored in its core game design. Gen speed hasnt changed a bit.

Agreed. A lot of the braindead perks should just leave the game imo. WoO, Zanshin, Lightborn, Iron will, etc. Both sides have a few braindead perks.
If you mention WoO as first perk I already doubt you understand the meaning of perks.

If that was a Case then you wouldnt be able to play certain Killers. Only D to C tiers will be playable which will limit verity by alot. And it will remove the suprise of who is the killer.
Ghostface, Pig, Myers.
Lobby Dodging will be through the roof.
We are at a point with legit no variety in killers. 9/10 its the same overtuned chars. So, I just dont care anymore. Ive given up on this game being fun anymore for survivors unless you play like Seal Team Six. Its embarrasing that the devs have as much game knowledge as newbies that have look up the most annoying builts to win on YT. Theyre beyond help.
-
Yeah, I think its time to reveal the killer in lobby. So we all can spare our life time against Ghoul.

Why does casual mode work in other games though? League has a casual mode, CS2 has casual modes. And there isn't an issue of "sweat" there.
Escpecially naming League is insane. Play casual mode their and you have every second game your opponents playing like their life depends on it. That community is as toxic as DbDs.

Ranked mode would mean that their MMR and matchmaking works. So no way that this is gonna happen this millenium.

sorry but its public forums…you dont want to be cited then block me or dont spout nonsense that you dont like being called out on, the citation is for others to see what my comment is regarding.
when you play the game for years and read forums and posts for years and establish a pattern then its reasonable to make assumptions based on that pattern. The pattern i have seen repeatedly for years has been most of the time players with mains generally dont care about the other side…why would they? But the people that play 50/50 seem to offer fairer and more balanced ideas.
Again i back my claim up with the concept of a pattern that has been seen not just by myself but others too…. What basis do you have that mains are not often bias? other than "i said so"…i would like to get something remotely constructive from you as the vast majority of your posts have not been constructive at all. a recent example of this is in this thread…. "Thats one of the worst statements possible." no explanation why or any elaboration…very constructive of you.
Nobody agrees to your "subjective perception" while there is reasoning and neutrality on the other side.

Now personally, I find the First to already be a pretty well balanced killer, if only possibly very slightly overtuned. He is very well designed, being strong, but with a lot of fair counterplay on the survivor side. The delay of the vine attack seems to have been very carefull chosen, as it seems pretty ideal if you ask me. Both sides pretty much have to predict what the opposite is going to do. The vine attack is always dodgeable if you make the correct read as survivor, but it's also always hitable by Vecna if he makes the correct read.
With that said, I would suggest two small nerfs to make Vecna absolutely perfectly balanced:
- Increase the recharge time of Vecna's vine attack from 3 to 5 seconds.
To be clear here, I am not talking about Vecna's cooldown, during which he is slowed down. Right now, Vecna's vine attack also has a recharge time, indicated by the red bar surrounding his power on the UI. However, it is only 3 seconds long, which is the exact length of Vecna's cooldown. So he gets his power back immediately after the cooldown ends. I would suggest to increase the recharge time to 5 seconds, so that after the cooldown of Vecna's vine attack ends, he has to wait 2 more seconds before he can use his vine attack again. This would give survivors just a tad more breathing room, and make dodging Vecna's vine attacks just a little more rewarding.
- Increase the cooldown duration after canceling the vine attack from 1.5 seconds to 1.75 seconds
To really make sure that Vecna's zoning potential is kept in check, I would personally increase the cancel cooldown of Vecna's vine attack just slightly more.
And those are the two nerfs I personally would suggest. He'd still be strong after these nerfs, but just a tad more manageable for survivors.
One more note, it could be that on the survivor side, the vine attacks sometimes visually spawn quicker than they should, which probably means that the visual cue for where the vine attack will spawn appears too late. This might be lag, but maybe there is also a bug that causes this? If so, it should be looked into.
Whats the lot amount of fair counterplay?
-
Its kinda embarassing how people always try to falsely blame bhvr if something doesnt highlight killer perspective. Every PTB, every update, every event and every survey its the same. And the same people ask why survivors dont have fun anymore. Hilarious.

@runningguy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4053672#Comment_4053672
generally thats how it goes, killer mains and survivor mains usually push for what benefits them because they dont play the other side so dont care if its fair or not. 50/50 players are usually less biased because they tend to take both sides into account. It wouldnt make sense for a 50/50 player to push for hard nerfs to survivor role knowing they play survivor 50% of the time, but it does make more sense that someone playing 80% killer would push for survivor nerfs knowing they rarely play that role. Just the way it goes and has been mostly this way for years
Ah you again. I thought I told you to stop citing me. Youre just doing the good old generalization nonsense as well as just thinking of the worst mindset for everyone. Ever heard the term neutrality? You obviously not.

Or just be unpredictiable unlike for nurse his close hits that nearly missed will slow him down compare to nurse nearly blinking to you she will most likely hit you so he can be juked quite well and he can spam his power but gets slowed a lot and unless he hits often he will loose on gens because he doesnt have any good power if he is missing.
Youre just agreeing with me. Thing is, good players just dont miss much at all. And hes not that hard to aim.

Please don't reduce or scrub down the information that was collected here for everyone to see to such a narrow point of view, not only does that not help anyone, it especially doesn't help you and lessens the impact of what is being gathered here for everyone else.
I will fully admit, this information won't magically change the tide of how you face him, but it information has help me countless times against henry, infact, I have more wins against him than I do losses because of all the things that I've gathered and placed on display here.
I won't say "Just because your frustrated" because I've been there too, who knows how many times I complained about Krasue and Ghoul because they were just too strong; but what I will say is that if you're not willing to accept help, you've got your own issue to deal with.
That being said, that's all I have, so.Its not disrespecting help. All your information is nice to have, for people that dont know how to analyze this killer. Everyone else figured out that much by themselfs pretty fast. But it just doent account to any viable counterplay, thats the issue.

Aka the nerf Vecna posts. Do survivors seriously even like this game anymore?
It's the same cycle: New killer comes out, new killer is fun and unique.
Survivors: Wah! It isn't the same 3 killers I've faced for the past 5 years! Nerf it!
If you make the cooldown longer you'll encourage more zoning/only attacking when it's guaranteed. Which is exactly what you hate about those powers. And if you give no compensation you'll get another Krause.
Why don't we try and learn the counterplay first, instead of immediately crying because the killer isn't Blight? The killers very vulnerable to LoS breaks and shift W.
But no, survivors are going to cry and get it nerfed into being one of the least played killers like Krause. And then we're going to wonder why the killer roster isn't very diverse and what you only see the same top 5 killers in the game...
This is so biased its would be quite impressive if it wouldnt be just so sad. The same people reasonably giving Feedback on The First are the same people that have giving reasonable feedback on Nurse and Blight for years. The cooldown is by far too low and just makes this killer super easy to play and super annoying to face cause the killer itself doesnt get punished at all for missing his attacks.
Also the only counterplay is guessing. And as survivor its not a 50-50 guess, its way worse. Thats also why hold-W is not a bit of an counter caused this is 100% predictable. LoS isnt much of an counter. Its the same as against Nurse. Good players already know how to deal with this. Counterplay is again just hoping that the killer will make a mistake, but it just doesnt matter if he does. Thats why playing against the First isnt fun at all. Its just another illusion.
But for people like you any killer that is super easy and strong is fine. Strawhat arguments at best.

Survivor doesnt need to full on gen stack because they've been buffed in every other way that its an indirect buff on their gen progression because they now spend less time than ever doing other things, so they can spend more and more time on gens, making their actions have more and more value compared to killer. (Along with their perks being easy and strong value for little effort)
Survivor has just been getting more and more efficient, getting more time on gens and has plenty of ways to ruin killer pressure, and it all adds up, so more killers need to keep gen regression perks on to keep up. So of course killer will stack it more, survivor has a better potential for doing their objective between the 4 of them.
Of course survivors focussing on stacking progression exacerbates the problem further. And of course, all these buffs for the worse players hugely buffed all the good players.
I dont know if you even talk about the same game.
