  • They wont. Theyre too proud of their mistake and would never admit thats it was being a failed concept to begin with. Though I still dont think that those measly seconds are worse a complain of "killer slowdown".

  • They wont. Players ask for better controls/input binding for five years and they just ignore it. We just have to deal with controls that are barely on par with a beta of an early access title. I guess its just too much asked to make the game work properly.

Pretty much the same, really. MMR mostly is a boogeyman used by people who don't (or refuse to) realize that the average DBD player in 2025 is better than the 2020 one.

I doubt that the average now is better, cause killers legit have no skill nowadays and just rely on "killer strategies", when people back then at least tried to figure out how to become skilled.

BTT: The matchmaking on the initial rank system was way more accurate than MMR like this could ever be, at aleast two to three weeks after every rank reset. Thats also why nobody understood how BHVR came to this mess of an matchmaking system right now.

Im agree with almost everything we have on the new road map, except this. Cause anti-tunnel perks already beyond overpowered in they current state (that was actually one of the main reason why killer slugging so often to not deal with them). We have at least 3 absurdly broken and op perks in this category (DS, Off the record and Babysitter). Off the record give you 80 sec god mode. DS stun is to long now (cause 4 sec is actually huge number) and Babysitter makes you faster than killer. This new changes to base kit anti tunnel can be okay if this 3 perks gonna be nerfed or changed

If those would be so much OP, why dont you see them even regularly? Right, cause theyre no match for tunneling at all. Its scary that people still claim anti-tunnel perks to be useful.

Just because the killer has the intention of doing that doesn't mean they will. If that were the case, I'd wish for a 4k every time and get it. Killer is not near as powerful as you're implying, where they're like, "I'm just gonna slug and get a 4k/surrender" and no matter what the survivors do, that result will just happen.

The devs need to make item interactions not reset the AFK. That's all they need to do to fix that.

Youre no benchmark for killer gameplay.

Well then we play to lose, unless we get really lucky. That's our only other option.

Here we go again showing off how bad your sense for gameplay is.

  • I dont see much doom postings, cause this only relates thigns like "patch will kill the game.". Most people explain why those things the devs mentioned wont work they way they think it would. And just be honest to yourself. The devs history of changes that should fix somehting for game health turned out be make things worse or just went the wrong way. Thats a sad fact.

So if I want adept, get 11 hooks and 3 kills (without slugging, camping or tunneling), close the hatch, find the last Survivor at the gate and down the last survivor, and before I can pick them up they instantly surrender, then which "obnoxious killer strategy" am I abusing?

Nobody said that anything like this could happen.

  • Then let me give you some huggies that your loved game isnt no more.

  • The issue isnt "go next", the issue is why most people do it. And im not talking about those little % that just do it by the likes of them. But bhvr just ignores the core issues again and tries band-aid fiying some edge cases. And the way they suggested this system it will backfire in many normale gameplay cases, e.g. how would the system discern between a survivor subtile trying to go next and just a bad survivor getting his ass killed for being bad? This system is doomed to fail on a big scale.

  • @turksmall236 said:

Killers can queue up with the intention of slugging all 4 survivors just to get them to surrender and end the match, thus wasting everyone's time. SWFs can do the same with plot twist and no mither.

Survivors can bypass AFK crows by dropping and picking up their item repeatedly, so an aura read that can't be countered by distortion should be implemented. Please keep this in mind BHVR.

Killers slugging everyone is why such a system will be implemented (in bhvr thinkings). But this would be quite infuriating, cause why even rewarding killers for this toxic behaviour? You think this isnt a reward to them? It is, because those people just want to annoy others and this way they can queue up way faster than before and do the exact same thing more often than before.

Survivor being able to do this could be super easily prevent though. Just trigger surrender only on killer downs. So youre issue isnt much of an issue to begin with.

Regarding AFKs I dont think you can come to your conclusion if you look on how they worded their phrases. "To combat this, we’re changing the way AFK Crows operate, so they can more accurately identify when a player is deliberately avoiding engagement with their gameplay objective" would mean they they have something in mind to identify what you said and place afk crows in this situation.

For distortion in this situation the aura read would just burn through it, and you have no way to reclaim your tokens unless you engage in a chase.

I would comment on the actual post, but it doesn't allow comments. I would like to share feedback on the surrender part. The post states:

"The team has been working on a Surrender feature, which should limit player frustration on both sides. To get it right, we first needed to identify the situations where its use would be most appropriate, leading us to two scenarios:

    • All remaining Survivors have been slugged (Survivor)
    • All remaining Survivors are bots (Killer)

Once these instances occur, players will be able to use the Surrender option, ending the Trial while retaining the Bloodpoints they’ve earned and escaping the Disconnect Penalty."

The fact that it just states "ending the Trial" has me worried. Please make a Survivor surrender count as 4 sacrifices for the killer. I don't want to reward bleeding out. However, imagine you are going for adept or a tome challenge to kill all 4 Survivors, so you slug for the 4k or you even sacrifice 3 Survivors and hunt the last one, but the moment you down the last Survivor they insantly surrender (2 out of 2 or 1 out of 1 is still all remaining Survivors), making the game a "win" for you, but not granting you the tome challenge/achievement you wanted.

Adept with hatch race is already annoying, I literally lost an adept to a 4% into hatch escape once, please don't make it so that even you win fair and square a salty survivor can deny it.

You basically just want to reward slugging. This is exactly the wrong mindset. But actually devs are the same, sadly. You have a totally wrong idea on whats the issue in your scenario. Not getting a reward while abusing an obnoxious killer strategy is NOT the issue. The issue would be how badly adept achievement has been implemented.

  • They had too many chances which they failed too hard.

For those of you not in the DBD Discord, this was just recently announced, as you can see, we're getting massive QOL improvements and fixes this year

Here's to hoping this stuff actually fixes the problem instead of making the problems worse

Do you really think that devs can fix anything in this game? Their band-aid-fix-record is horrendous. As I was reading through the dev note I was just wondering how they will gonna screw this up again. Cause just be the how they worded several aspects it is already clear that some things cant work this way or follow a totally wrong way of handling things.

The survivor mains won and now the devs are forcing killers to play towards survivor fun. Buff for low level killers, buff for SWF nerf for killers m1 killers and killers who don't camp/tunnel/slug.

You get a 4K every time you play killer unless the last survivor gets hatch? Ok, sure. Why are you wasting your time on this forum? You should be playing competitions or streaming and make some money because clearly you are one of the top players in the world. Pro streamers don’t even 4K “every time”

Thats right. They just get hundreds of winstreaks more than survivors even dream of. But sure.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

It's true. Almost every time I lose, it was an obvious SWF. The problem is every time I get on, I face almost exclusively SWF. See the correlation? They don't play that well either. It's advantage over skill. I can just list off misplay after misplay they make as I play, giving me really good chases and gen pressure for free, and they still have multiple people get out all the time.

You'll see how the handholding majorly boosts bad players too, especially in 2v8. If you or your killer teammate is even slightly inefficient or makes a mistake, game's over. The players who couldn't play for nothing walk right out the exits, because you had 5-7 minutes to get 24 cages. And then the herbs give free heals and cage states.

Its funny how you always talk exactly the opposite of the obvious reality.

  • Cause they had the great idea on "fixing" something. Thats what happens. Always. But hey, its not that people told them it will be a stupid idea.

  • @Skeleton23 said:

We can all agree DBD is having a problem with The Killer side of the game. This game is no longer fun as killer because you can just start the match and the survivors are already done doing the Gens. It's frustrating how one sided the game is now. Most killers can't keep up anymore with the new things. I wish the Devs would see this

How many times did you play this game?

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/438136/forget-2v8-i-m-just-gonna-play-for-the-rewards

I'll address this part directly about not listening to players. We really do listen to players, not just the loudly vocal minority however. It's not just about this Forum, it's about every social platform, including non owned by us platforms. It's also about what information we obtain from our own User Research Groups, we have a Playtest Squad as well as Consultants as well as CSAT's. We take feedback from everywhere, and our teams have to make decisions based upon that feedback as a whole.

Then i would like you to explain how it is possible that in 8 out of 10 cases the feedback given and the solution presented does not overlap?

  • Ive most likely never seen a bot being useful to the other mates. Theyre are even programmed to leave instead of resuing the real player. I really doubt this is meant seriously.

  • It has not much to do with empathy for the other side. The playerbase has gradually become worse. And thats in correlation with the way the devs changed the gameplay. If you make it easy to annoy other players, people with that bad mindset will gather more and more. And thats what happened.

  • Advice in return: dont even try to play skillful.

  • All of this is fake!

  • I admit that no such thing exists.

The 3 man hatch escapes were rare - it still got nerfed. Bully flashlight squads were rare. It still got nerfed. Face camping killers were rare. It still got nerfed. Four man Distortion squads were rare. It still got nerfed. 3 genning killers were super rare - it still got nerfed.

The point is regardless of whether you individually think it’s rare or not doesn’t matter. There’s a growing amount of people who think it’s not as a collective. You can call it crying all you want, but it’ll eventually get changed because killers who play into this style with the sole intention of making things miserable for others, of which there is a growing amount, are facilitating it.

I dont think you played long enough to say 3-genning killers were super rare.

  • Thats what happens if devs think of a solution but dont think it through.

  • Would be the end of the game, cause there are by far to many flaws that make games pointless to play.

  • Then congrats to the devs. You just kicked out a good portion of your playerbase if this is gonna happen, unless you were able to set bots on par with a real player. Cause, right now, bots are unable to be of any help in a normal game.

Slugging is only an "easy" win, if Survivors use their tools to punish trying to hook as hard as possible. Slugging is not meta, as we see by the low useage of slugging perks. It is not completely unviable, but its still not nearly as good as hooking with gen regression/blockage.

Slugging is meta, cause its another design failure that has nothing to do with skill, perks or whatever and isnt countered by any means.

  • Thats nothing to do with soloQ.

  • @Perrin3088 said:

What I find amusing, is that the 4th mori solves a problem that no longer exists.

The main reason for it was so you could get the 4th kill despite lost hooks, but now you don't lose hooks, so it's only point would be if there are dead zones killers can't hook from, which would be a greater issue that should be solved on it's own merits.

The only reason for the last mori was to have moris every game. Nothing else. And they just completely ignored every flaw that came with their "solution".

  • The first hit was clearly a tree hit, nothing else.

  • @MissiCiv said:

In the same year when the slugging started to increase BHVR added or made significant changes:

    → Added Hook Camping timer

→ increased hook timer to 70 seconds from 60

→ Nerfed almost every Gen. regress perk that was working via. hooking

    → Buffed back DS

→ Gave Survivors alot of second chance perks and utilities that works with hooking/unhooking

    → Bugged Flashbangs

→ The punishment for hooking increased while there was no rewarding anymore

→ Gen speed is horrendous to deal with when you go just for hooks

On top of that, they asked how Survivors feel being slugged but didn't cared in the first place why the killer started to slug and thats extremly worrying because with this mind set BHVR will just add another band-aid fix or give the Survivors another Basekit buff to deal with it

    1. Campers still camp. They just changed to proxy-camping than face-camping. so nothing really new.
    2. +10s of hook time doesnt change anything, cause literally noone ever waited till the last second to unhook anyone. And campers still proxy-camp.
    3. Cause they were by far too strong when stacked. And theyre still too strong when stacked, otherwise nobody would use them since nerf, but in fact theyre still #1 used perks (by bad players).
    4. +1s doesnt make DS any stronger than before unless you play just m1 killer. even than DS was never that strong to begin with.
    5. What second chance perks do you even refer to?
    6. Hooking was never punished and rewards never changed too.
    7. Gentimes has been nerfed, just for your information, and therefor hasnt been better than anytime before.

Youre just trying to defend something that has never been able to defend.

  • So just because a killer gets nerfed it doesnt mean that it anyway better to play against them. Dullmerchant is the best example. Bhvr just has no feeling for good gameplay.

  • Are we still up defending tunneling by killers double standards?

  • Cause there is no clear win condition. Proove your point.

  • Here wo go again with people juggling with numbers they do not understand to justify the 60% kill rate.

  • @bazarama said:

    Survivors brought this on themselves.

They cried and moaned and cried some more about gen regression perks.

They were nerfed into the ground and now it's moaning about slugging.

Hooking has zero advantage to killer and until that changes you reap what you sow

    Poor bait.

  • @Rogue11 said:

Could we please change the "escape a trial as _________" challenges to something productive like "gain 25k bloodpoints in a trial as __________"? Watching someone throw the match by hiding at 5 gens so they can complete a challenge is pretty discouraging.

First you would need to change the whole system so that someone could even get those dailies and not just once every blue moon after a blood ritual is performed on a virgin sheep. Second, ive never heard of anyone throwing a game for daylies as survivor.

  • @TwinsMain2004 said:

yall just coping super hard here lol

when i swfed in a 4 man, we literally had 1 player who was garbage (rip doss) and it didn't matter because we still never lost

we'd be talking about nonsense 24/7 and we'd barley even be trying

The fact is us being able to say "Yea killers chasing me do gens) was more then enough to win us games

Gens would be done in 6 mins or less every time

If Doss wasn't getting chased first, it's almost always be a 3 gen chase while 2 of us slam the other gen in 40 seconds while the other goes for the unhook

Just the fact that we all knew what the killer was doing and where they were was good enough for us to win 90% of our games or at the very least draw and deny the killer victory

So how is you saying "killer chasing me" more valuable than looking at the HUD to see another survivor is chased? What youre claiming is just sheed skill difference between yourself and the killer. Its nothing to do with SWF or not.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

I don't think there's anything going on, but I have been given Treacherous Crows like 10 times. It feels like the randomizer is a used car salesman trying to sell me on an obvious lemon

Thats always been a thing with chaos shuffle. The odds dont seem to be even an all perks. Some are more frequently on a set time frame. But its not like its claimed in here that there are meta perks less frequently, cause its just by the ssheer numbers of useless perks in the game.

  • Saboteur never was an issue. Oak offerings are on their own not an issue too. If a highly skilled 4-man SWF intends to sabotage all game, yeah this game is really bad for the killer, unless the killer is prepared. But both is not very likely to happen at all. If sabotage would be this easy, it would have been meta at some point, but it wasnt/isnt. Still I wouldnt even care if they removed hook offerings at all. For 99% of the players its just a bloodpoint dump.

Also I dont get it why killers should be allowed to prolong games like this without any disadvantage. And no, the survivors getting back up isnt a disadvantage to those just wasting play time by slugging.

  • @sinisterstubbs77 said:

This is so out of hand. Gen rushing, tea-bagging, body blocking, and they also get to communicate, which according to BHVR isn't in game for a reason, but nothing is done about 3rd party apps. It's unbalanced, no fun, and outright stupid.

First, proove to me that SWF equals communication. Second, proove to me that SWF "genrushes" more than the equivalent soloQ players. Third, proove to me that SWF teabag more than the equivalent soloQ players. The only thing here is that is an issue is that there are some people who use SWF to bodyblock other teammates, but this is a reportable offense and happens just in really rare occasions.

Im NOT reading allat. But from the first few sentences i could tell you also dk how the game works.

As i have said to Pulsar and basically everyone else in this discussion agrees w/ me, you cannot defend gens at all. In that exact match, yes i had no gen perks, but i shouldn't need gen perks to stop gens from being done in less than 5 minutes. I can understand losing kills but getting low stages is ridiculous.

Whatever you do, whoever you chase, you WILL be wasting time. Theres no machanics in place, or any required secondary objectives gens from flying, thus deadlock imo should at least be basekit until they revisit the idea of missing parts and gas for gens.

Killers arent supposed to STOP gens. Thats how the game works.

  • If SWF has no weakness, how is it poosible that kill rates against SWF are not 0%? How is it possible that SWF have no infinite escape streaks?

1 … 7 8 9 10 11 … 16
