It's not unusual to see a new killer the majority of matches after release.
It is unless the killer is broken. And be honest, how is it possible to design something that has just handholding mechanics, so that everyone can play this killer from day one like people play nurse after years of playing?
-
I dont even understand why the normal-mode benefits in the same way as those who play the event and have a part in progressing the community challenge. Its just unreasonable as always.
-
Cause otherwise you couldnt use this as a cashcow until you "fix" it.

What is preventing Killers from being able (while in a pre-game lobby looking at a group of survivors) swapping from one Killer to the other? Survivors can change out who theyre playing once theyre in the pre-game - are we stuck behind some kind of programming wall we haven't figured out yet? Genuinely curious here.
Cause killers shouldnt be able to change their killer just by looking at the lobby. Its already unfair enough that theyre able to take a look at their opponents and change their loadout accordingly, while survivors are stuck with no information at all.

anti facecamp meter is made to counter toxic usage of camping, not camping as a strategy.
When do we stop calling it a strategy, when it clearly is one of the biggest game flaws?

The game has always been balanced around noob killers. So whats different now?
-
Yeah, lets just make every killer braindead to play and completely unhealthy for the game.

what do you mean by “killer bias”? People who actually play killer being understandably upset that every single decent slowdown perk gets nerfed? Maybe we should also talk about “survivor bias”’ from people who never play killer telling killer players that they shouldn’t “overreact” to unnecessary perk nerfs.
You clearly know what I mean, so dont play dumb.

In this game, mid-level noob stomp perks are considered meta for some reason. I think that's where you're coming from. Given an ideal survivor team, there's like no worthwhile hexes. But with a team of survivors who don't know what they're doing or don't really care to win, hexes slay. But we can't consider every perk "broken" just because it's noob stomp, because that would encompass basically every perk. There really isn't that much killer variety, when it comes to actual good stuff. That's why my current build includes Brutal Strength and Forever Entwined, because those are now basically as useful as Pop or NOED.
Its absolutely nothing to do with noob stomp, and everybody knows this (maybe besides you). Hexbuilds are worthwile, if you know what youre doing. Thats always how its been. I di understand that you especially arent able to pull off something like this, cause you show how unskilled you are on a daily basis with your posts like you do here, saying brutal strenght has the same usefulness as pop.

The same perks are still played because none of the other perks are better, but we just lose harder against good teams.
Why should an organized team of 4 on discord be the "power role"?
Theyre arent. Otherwise proove it on legit scale.

Non of the top 10 most used killer perks are Hexes. Having an empty perk slot is more common than bringing a hex.
Move aroundSo there are just 10 perks for killer that are useful? You clearly have no idea that killer variety is much bigger than this.
-
Why are killer always overreacting on each and every nerf? We heared the same as regression perks were nerfed last time and what happened? The same perks are still played. and you dont even know the details yet. Killer bias in a nutshell.
-
Ah, thats why Hex:Perks are quite common. Cause theyre not worth it. Maybe some reality check would be good for you.

its not balanced imo simply bc as killer your FORCED to run slowdown if you want to win (with all killers)
Are we still telling this lie? Its never been so easy to win games as killer without slowdowns. And its just completely broken if you run 4 slowdowns.
-
Unless they scrap their trash kill/escape system and recreate emblem system, nothing makes a difference.

why do players keep saying they want other objectives in dead by daylight instead of generators, but killers that release with side objectives (sadako, singularity, pinhead, xeno) are so hated because of their side objectives 🤨?
Cause MORE objectives are broken to play with.

So, how do you know HOW the queues split?

In all fairness, some of those killer addons are just straight nerfs. Getting THOSE addons would feel awful.
Imagine having something that gives a debuff *nomither*cough*

You havent played much of this mode yet, right?

@Crowman said:
Anytime a non slowdown perk sees use, it gets complained about and then nerfed out of existence.
Cause killers only use those which are busted.

If youre so good, why soo weak?

We need more of everything. Even the controls are totally out of options.

Head On doesnt kill them anymore. Theyve removed it again for whatever reason.

Because each killer is more or less suppose to be matched with its own MMR. If the system works as intended, I should be matched with experienced survivors when playing my best killers and inexperienced survivors when playing my worst.
First, MMR doesnt work this way. Second, even if youre new to a killer you have still the basic game sense from playing other killers and should never be matched with new survivors at this point.
-
Because they lack common game sense.

What's done is done I guess but me personally I think we of the dead by daylight community deserve better like A Wolfman killer, just imagine a shirtless homeless looking guy running around the map smacking survivors with his dirty nails then boom he turn into werewolf and insta downs people. Or the invisible Man???? A stealth killer who once in stealth takes off his coat and says something badass like "going ghost" or "check this out" "getting a bit hot up in here"
Imagine hating one of the best rated animes in the horror genre. LUL.
-
Why do people expect to be on par with people that know what theyre doing while learning a new killer? This makes no sense and just shows the expected killer main bias.
-
Its not a bug. And literally nobody does this for a reason: its ineffective beyond anything.
-
Cause the devs though altering a licensed character for no reason would be a cool idea. But its not. Basically the worst thing they could have done with this. But I guess they just wanted to provoke the anime community.
-
No point in discussing something this biased.
-
Stranger Things perks were also renamed when they were gone.

Am I understanding correctly that if two survivors left just don't touch gens for 10 minutes they can just force the killer to end the match with no penalty for hostage holding with no objective progress?
You cannot force the killer ti surrender. Its still their own choice to use the option or not. Also, why would someone - who just wants to play the game - waste 10 minutes of their own time to hide for a meager chance the other side is sick of the gameplay?

You mentioned survivor frustration as a reason for shortening the “deep hand” treatment time, but I have never felt frustration playing survivor myself, nor have I ever heard of it from anyone around me.
You have introduced systemic aids for frustration and other reasons in response to various requests so far, but do you still need systemic aids?
I think the unconditional nature of these aids has made people less inclined to practice Survivor, and this has led to more and more disconnections.
I'm not saying that we should give preferential treatment to either killers or survivors.
However, as long as it is a competitive game, you have to practice, and there are many things that can go wrong.
I think that the current miserable situation is the result of a system that has been subsidizing practice rather than encouraging it, so I would like to ask the management to correctly understand what the current environment is like and what the awareness of survivors is like, and to take action. You dont even have much gameplay that even relates to skill as survivor. The issues are clearly on a different side:
First, matchmaking is clearly useless. I would say that since MMR has been implemented i have to play 90% of the time with other people that clearly have no basic game sense as teammates. And then there are those games I get killers like "most rush hits on blight" … how am i even supposed to play against them with such a team?
Than there those game when the killer has basically no game sense besides how to abuse "killer strategies" to their fullest, no matter the actual character. Thats the second big issue: killers have by far too many handolding mechanics that are NOT related to skill. Cause playing killer should actually require skill as they have powers to use unlike survivors. Neither of those mechanics have been affected by any band-aid-fix BHVR provided through out the years, in fact it got even way worse with how they decided to favor bad killers.

"Most people don't like" ? That's odd, considering the last DBD survey had over 80% of players that responded, wanting to extend 2v8 out longer.
Cause basically just people who care for the mode took part in it. This survey was already over when announced.
-
I nsee someone is struggling with finding survivors and is annoyed by giving up one of his four slowdown slots for one aura read.
-
Hopefully not. We dont need a mode that most people dont like and screw up all the queues.
-
So how exactly was this game unwinnable without slugging? Here we just go again showing one game to prove something big that just isnt true to begin with. Also craving for compensation is just another prime example on killer bias. Why should you be compensated for something that is just plainly unhealthy for the game and isnt necessary at all?
-
This game isnt suited for e-sports.
-
- Ah sure. Its not that game where killers bring map offerings are always ending in tragedy.
-
Nothing worth it coming up for sure.

Haven't really been playing much lately with the exception some 2v8 matches over the weekend, but saw a Pig video yesterday and figured I kinda wanna play her since I usually dont. Figured I'd try getting some dash value at loops...
This morning, I log on and hop on Pig... I've played 2 games so far and BOTH have ppl trying to "go next" on the first hook of the match immediately. First guy succeeded... 2nd guy got rescued before he could do more than hit 2nd stage. This is essentially proof that ppl will do this against ANYONE for no reason except they got caught.
Then come up with a good solution, cause I cant even imagne bhvr to find a solution that doesnt make the game more frustrating for anyone that has an actual reason to go next.

Yeah, but survivors didn't need those things. They didn't 3% bonus speed just for being injured, or having 2 invincible survivors after picking up in the killer's face. Regardless, survivors got praised for adapting. Killers adapted, and they got shamed for it. "Why are you still tunneling?! You're supposed to do this, do that!" And nobody's "playing around" the 8-kick limit. They just have to deal with it, and it's BS. Right? It affects killers who aren't 3-genning, and survivors could beat 3-gen killers without it. It's another thing survivors don't need.
What actually did killers adapt the past years? How to abuse "killer strategies" to its fullest?
-
The whole "Go next" thing is just a bad idea to begin with. It doesnt fix anything but puts player into situations they clearly dont want to play out (and i am not talking about those pity people that kill themself for no reason). Bhvr need to realize that they have to fix the underlying issues and not just some pseudo-issue.
-
So after they had no choice but to remove them for obvious reasons, they just thought "hey lets bring them back, though the reasons are still there".
-
Killers were always doomposting about any little change that coul not benefit them. And in 99% of the cases they were just making a ruckus over nothing.

It's true. They shouldn't be surprised if they plan to annihilate these strategies it will drastically increase the queue times.
Why? Cause killers cant have easy wins by circumventing gameplay without the need of learning killer powers and having common gamesense?
-
Hope is not an escape.

Actually the reason they aren't used often is because they require being tunneled to have value, and killers simply don't tunnel consistently enough.
I played 20 games with a shoulder the burden build to test how strong it is, got literally 2 legitimate chances to use it, one of which got denied by an overzealous soloQ unhook (no one understands the concept of leavimg a tunneled player on hook as long as possible)... the one time I got to use it, it swung that game uber hard.
In the others it did nothing or got me killed cause I was getting too frustrated not being able to use it, and therefore kept using it when I shouldn't.
I dont understand how someone can come to such a conclusion nowadays without ignoring actual gameplay.
