The cap for console should just be unlocked, instead of making the killer less fun for PC players

Killermain morals never stop to amaze.

  • Pretty good job so far I guess. Not even being able to send out emails properly. Sad.

  • Like with every system bhvr is using, its not working properly.

  • So we just let killers have their "stupid mechanic" but survivors need skill to recover from those? Seems like a really bad choice.

  • @Rulebreaker said:

Out of curiosity why are people so curious about whatever MMR number they have?

Cause people want to understand how badly implemented the mmr system and matchmaking is.

  • Its not just a controller issue. The game has super poor controls to begin with.

  • How should it be sportsmanlike to begin with?

  • Thats what always happens with events or anything else that could be fun. As long as devs ignore that the game is literally a bully-simulator as killer nothing gonna change.

there is big difference between MMR that is hidden from players in every multiplayer game that has it and rank that is visible

So what? There is no visible rank in DbD that has anything to do with MMR, cause there isnt even a ranked mode.

  • Imagine this would not have been just a bait post and people really complain that they have so many options to circumvent gameplay and the other side dislikes them. Hilarious.

  • If they can bring in FNAF, anime couldnt be a problem at all.

  • You cant see what doesnt exist. Cause if it would exist, there is no excuse to not show it to the players themself.

  • Its always the same with events. The moment they go live killers get crazy and just want to make a fun mode being a torture chamber. And devs just refuse to change anything about being able to play like this. Like, why did they have time to make oberlay animations for the perks (though you can even see the perks before on the menu screen) but do not improve a single thing about the mode at all?

Thank you for this post, it's great to see all your stats! <3

For those that don't have them yet, do not worry, they're rolling out in batches

So how long will it take? I still doubt i will get this things cause thats how it always went.

  • Servers were always bad, but since the winter event theyre much worse than before.

  • Ive never seen survivors complain about complexity of killers, but many killer players complaining that they have to do more than using one button.

  • Why even bring BBQ as an example as literally noone ever complained about it cause its not that bad to play against as all those other aura reveals your just have no idea that theyre happening and therefor cant be countered unless you had distortion. The distortion hate was just strawhat arguments of killers to get the perk nerfed by saying "ah yes its really bad if the last to second hides all the time". With this stupid logic they got the perk killed as well as the whole stealth game.

  • It is a universally accepted truth that SWF with 3rd party communications break game balance.

… here we go again starting with some false assumptions.

  • @Crowman said:

If you want to remove slugging, remove flashlight/pallet saves and remove sabotages. That way killers can always immediately hook a survivor after a down.

Slugging isnt this bad because of those things you mentioned. And everyone knows this. So stop pretending something.

  • It would be a totally wrong sign to let people bleed out faster, cause it just doesnt change the fact that slugging is an issue to be solved properly. Why choosing a faster blled out over a porper solution to have proper games?

  • Its a good thing for testing issues on PTB. It would be a relly bad sign for the game itself if it would be in live game though.

I don't understand where the enjoyment comes from using a perk that plays the game for you. It guides you to exactly where you need to go. Where is the fun when you don't need to think about your chases at all?

So you just like the enjoyment in not knowing where pallets are still up after several minutes of other players being chased and end up dying in a dead zone? And this has nothing to do with thinking. #Its quite sad that people still dont understand the real value of WoO after having this discussed for a billion of times.

There is no way you can say that pallet city (The game) is killer sided. Half the pallets in that map are 100% safe pallets or god pallets that must be broken. There is no way you think that chapel is fine with that broken ass main building. Lery's is killer specific, so is hawkins and so is RPD and cowshed is killer sided?

So how do you explain that most times you see a TheGame offering being thrown its the kilelrs offering? Cause its super easy to win on this maps with preparing in before.

Back to topic: Devs will never do anything about this, cause this would mean they 1) understood the underlying issues; 2) have ways to force toxic players to be of help and 3) have ways to force players with no mentality to be helpful. At least the last two are basically impossible to solve. And the first one will never be solved by bhvr cause they werent able to understand their own game for like 5 years.

"Providing consumers with complete and comprehensive information about a product is the direct responsibility of the seller (even if they are not the manufacturer).

    https://www.businesscompanion.info/en/quick-guides/digital/digital-content

It's not morals, it's basic common sense and a law.

Read the article about Digital content and consumer rights. And you will find it. Developers should've provided the info that these digital goods are going to be region-restricted for listed countries. Player\buyer\consumer should not expect anything themselves, but using the information they're given by the seller\trader\ (in our case) developer.

Its not a law. Even you still believe this show me the exact phrases of this law that bhvr (located in canada) forces to advertise a region lock in before. Like I said several times before, its just your or mine morals, and not legal law.

  • Nobody said anything like this in here. Stop pretending something.

Can you stop too trying to lay words into my mouth? I never defended anything bhvr did. I nust said people cannot complain about something that bhvr isnt obligated to do. re-avaluate yourself before commenting.

And those people do not lose anything, they still have their money spend ingame for auric cells and can buy anything else they do actually have in store.

except some people already spended auric cells on Junji Ito skins before they got region locked. And after BHVR locked them, those people lost access to bought skin(s) that they spent auric cells on. And BHVR refuse to refund those cells

So those people can just open support tickets and obviously will get compensated. This is nothing to complain about in here at all.

    "What did I just read…?"

Its obviously the peoples fault. BHVR has no obligation to provide information in before.

Is this a joke? "The seller is obliged to provide all information about the product they are selling, and the buyer is not obliged to ask or search the info themselves." Especially when it comes to country-based restrictions. Ain't no way you just said that, bro.

Its insanity if you expect to get something thats not existing in the first place. Just because someone advertises something, it doesnt mean that this something is being released.

"Expect to get something that's not existing in the first place" - what is that message even about?

This "someone" is a developers themselves you're talking about, they advertised it, with no region locks, so it DOES mean that this "something" should be released for all.

The last paragraph of your message just seems to me like a straight up supporting the country-based restrictions and just hating on people who against it.

Do you support region-blocking in games, my friend?

there is no law that forces bhvr to tell in before if there is a region lock or not. Thats what counts, not your or my morals. You cannot make bhvr at fault for buying auric cells before you even know if you can purchase it or not. And how about stop taking everything out of context? I never said that i support any of this.

  • @Grigerbest said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3868085#Comment_3868085

It's obviously not on the players to check if the new content is going to be blocked in their country. The devs should\must provide a clear info right in the moment the new content is being introduced. They literally had a dev's stream where they introduced the skins, why didn't they say anything about the region lock?

It looks like a "false\falsification of hype", why advertising the things to me, getting me hyped up for the things that are blocked in my country? If anything, it sounds like these people were scammed.

And why is that an "insanity" if a player pre-purchasing the in-game currency? Makes no sense to me, since nearly any player I know doing that.

The restrictions to countries should and MUST be informed to the players before-hand. If they did that - they would've mitigated the "damage"\outrage of the players.

Take a look at what people are typing in their recent reviews on steam. The game now reviewed mostly-negative on steam.

    My prediction was correct though.

Its obviously the peoples fault. BHVR has no obligation to provide information in before. And those people do not lose anything, they still have their money spend ingame for auric cells and can buy anything else they do actually have in store. It doesnt matter here if your or my morals say other, bhvr did nothing wrong and you cant blame them for doing nothing wrong.

Its insanity if you expect to get something thats not existing in the first place. Just because someone advertises something, it doesnt mean that this something is being released. So why being so greedy and spending money if you can just wait til its released? Thats just greed.

And i really dont care for review bombing. People complain for reasons beyond others abilities. Especially chinese players know exactly that their nations always has issues with censorship or licences from around the world. They surely can expect something to be not available for them.

  • @Grigerbest said:

I don't really care about Junji Ito cosmetics, but here's the thing: If any content is going to be region locked at any country, you should inform the players before hand.

What you guys did - you advertised the cosmetics for everyone, got everyone hyped up, many players pre-purchased auric cells, were patiently waiting till the release day - just to find out, these cosmetics are not available in their country\region.

Why you guys didn't inform the players the moment you introduced them in the dev's stream?

I'm pretty sure it's not your (developers) decision to do a region lock, it's on the license holder, but here's the thing again: Players don't care, because they were not informed till release day, which is unacceptable.

I'm highly predicting the steam review bombing by the enraged players of the "blocked" countries.

And I'm highly hope the game is not going to lose a lot of players due to this mistake.

Thats more of an issue of greedy players, though bhvr surely could be more transparent. Why do you purchase auric cells ahead if you dont even know if you could buy it? Thats insanity.

  • One chapter wouldnt be enough to fix the bugs and overall gameplay. And with FNAF coming this game will probably get a fatal blow too.

  • Cause the bots are so well-made, even a jellyfish would be more decent at playing this game.

  • They cant fix their game, cause they dont understand how their game could be played in a fair manner.

  • Those arent comp players. You wont see such players in pubs at all. Those are just the normal sweaty players or those want to make the game as miserable as possible.

I agree but this should apply to survivors too. You shouldn’t be able to stack gen speeds.

I couldnt care less for this, as this isnt even an issue at all. though it has nothing to do with slowdown issue.

  • @ezikagirl said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3861924#Comment_3861924

slowdowns.. were already nerfed. idk what you want. pop got a reduction of 10, eruption can only applied 4 times due to gen kick limit. call of brine is the worst slowdown in the game it does nothing other than give you info. overcharge got the same treatment. it'd been fine if overcharge and cob didnt stack. grim got a slight nerf. dead lock was nerfed for no reason. I get the feeling you just dont want them to exist so games will end in 4 minutes.

but if you really don't want them to exist, might as well remove survivor second chance perks if you really want it this way.

The nerfs mostly did nothing to the perk usages. Theyre still the most used perks on killer cause its still super easy to stack four slowdowns and play a brain-afk-mode.

  • @NarkoTri1er said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3861924#Comment_3861924

slowdown perks are in an awfully bad state rn, since only actually good gen slowdown perls are Eruption and Grim. Pain Res is just a shadow of it's former self and it definitely deserves to be reverted to 25%.

Do you play a different game? Were still in slowdown meta with pop, pain, grim and so on being seen left and right.

  • We need much more nerfs on slowdowns as long as you can stack them to no end. Buffing slowdowns is the worst way to go.

  • Here we go again. "The one and only killer truth". Why even bothering arguing with people that have clearly no intention on good gameplay for everyone.

How do I bait it, when it gets to be used by someone outside of chase?
There is no notification, it's not loud to hear.

Seems like all survivors here can only use it during their chase for themselves. No wonder you think it is bad, when you don't use it properly.
Yeah, if survivor is naive enough to jump into locker while I chase them, not difficult to bait it. If it gets to be someone else and survivors just lead chase there, then nothing I can do about it.

dont spout this nonsense about slugging survivor if something doesnt comfort you

I have strict rules for myself. I don't do things, I don't want others to do.
And if someone does something I don't like, I will do the same to them.

Survivors seem like they don't enjoy bleeding out, so whenever someone abuse busted perks, maps etc. I will do something they won't enjoy too.

So when its someone else, you have two people doing nothing and you can just chase after the one with head-on, cause they wont get much distance at all (not that the saved one got much more distance though). You dont lose that much if you get hit by it in this scenario.

And your mentality is just awful. Not suited to play online games with or against other people.

  • @Equinox_One said:

Now, slugging sucks. Don't get me wrong. It would be awesome to just send survivors to the hook, but it's not how the game is designed.

Bleeding everyone out to be a jerk shouldn't be a thing and it seems to be on the radar to be fixed, but it's hard to do this in a way that doesn't break the already tenuous balance of the game. A 'bleed out' button would help but also opens yet another avenue to quit penalty free which we don't need.

The contentious point seems to be slugging survivors 'for the 4k', essentially leaving 1-3 people slugged while looking for the last person in order to secure a decisive victory.

Yes, it's a nasty thing to do and not something I'll engage in unless the other side are BM.

However…when I play survivor, I'd say maybe half my annoyance is at the killer and half my annoyance is at that last survivor sitting in a bush somewhere.

Nothing is stopping that last survivor from just conceding up rather than stalemating the game and wasting everyone's time further. At best, you have a slim chance at hatch, while the other survivors sit there and rot. You're just as responsible. Let's all just go next.

I think there's also more pressure on the killer to 'win' than survivors, due to just how much survivors seem to enjoy gloating and rubbing an escape in (there is a reason why 'just leave' is a meme).

So yeah. It's one of those things. If it's between playing a bit mean and not getting gloated at or having my time wasted further, just call me Mr. Mean.

Why are survivors not allowed to play for the escape, but killers are meant to get a 4k? Biased opinion.

  • And at the end of the road we get another poorly executed band-aid fix.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3857063#Comment_3857063

Well, it's nice you want to be on power trip, but I don't see a reason why it should be easy for survivors.

No, I don't like to get stunned. Who would have thought? When I get stunned, it should be something I had chance to avoid. So far that's true for all sources, except Headon.

    • DS is mostly protective and can be avoided fully by killer.
    • Pallets can be avoided and there are perks to help with them.
    • Blast mine can be avoided with perks too (Surge, Ruin, Pain res etc), or just ignore gens

That's not true for headon, that's something that can be used basically only offensively. If you show aura to survivors, it won't even be difficult to get, even monkeys can get free stuns at that point.

If they ever buff headon, I am going to bleed out every survivor, who will try to use it on me and I don't want you to go cry on forum for basekit unbreakable after it.

You can avoid Head-On by being cautious and knowing how to bait it out. Its nothing new. Learn to play against it and dont spout this nonsense about slugging survivor if something doesnt comfort you.

  • Chests are pretty much useless though. So why even bothering about chests as killer? A survivor searching a chest is one survivor less doing something useful.

  • The game is balanced around bad killer players being able to win even against better players as long as they stick to each and every desgin flaw. This just stops at the top 1% level.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3857046#Comment_3857046

And why shouldnt surivors be allowed to have perks to fight back?

Why should they be able to do it? They are supposed to escape, not try to kill the killer.

Multiple headons is definetly one of the most frustrating things you can play against and I am not really interested in making it more common.

Stunning the killer is a valid part of the game. and head-on just does this. You have no arguments.

And what if you get stunned that often by headon? Just because you dont like to get stunned? Are you one of those jumpiing ten meters back at each pallet? Sad excuse.

Just had a match where myself and one other person decided to run around throwing snowballs and getting event points. With it being rank re-sweats all the slugging tunneling and camping killers are afoot. After 3 matches of that I decided “cool I’ll just min max the event until I die and go next” I ended up taking all 3 of my hook states and threw snowballs at killer and snowmen.

Teammate in end game chat yelled at me for throwing and reported me. Lol

I get that they’re mad I didn’t try the way they wanted me to, but bro, stop reporting people for non-actionable offenses. It’s just silly 😆

The event mode doesnt allow you to just throw the game by only doing event things. The gamemode has the same basic gameplay as the normal mode. If you dont contribute to this of course it can be considered a reportable offense as "not participating in normal gameplay".
